i have a love hate relationship with writing. i’ve noticed that people interpret things (symbolism, parallels, etc etc) in my work that i don’t notice / intend to put there but when they do it makes a lot of sense. i kind of just vomit words that sound pretty and paint a nice picture and hope and pray it makes sense. a lot of my inspiration actually comes from music (i’m a band kid … i play a few instruments) rather than written content i read. i feel like i’ve had a relatively consistent style that just has a fluctuating vocabulary and rhetoric

works i’m proud of

melody of the moon is my magnum opus, and i don’t think i’ll ever cherish a work more than that one. it’s a viktor (arcane) fic that i obsessed over for quite a bit and i remember going over it with my online friends (who knew very little about arcane) countless of times. it was a work i definitely projected myself into and finishing it was such a great feeling. i love that work to bits and pieces, despite it not being one of my most popular ones. i think the weight of words could’ve been close to it if i wasn’t so rushed with it and if i put more effort, but i loved the idea.

Behind the scenes of a Tumblr Writer - Tag Game

Hey there, I love behind the scenes and since this is something that's rarely talked about, let me start the chain... if you feel uncomfortable with a question, just skip it. You can add some if you want as well.

Started writing: I wrote my first Harry Potter fanfic at age 10. Started posting around 15,16 years old. I'm now 31, so...

Started blogging: I started on a German fanfiction site around 2010/11 I think. Might have been earlier too, but back then I was mostly reading, no posting. I really started when I got into One Direction (very late, tbh)

Followers: Currently at 961, which is wild to me. I don't even know that many people IRL. I convince myself that half of them are bots tbh, so I don't freak out all the time.

Communication: The people I talk to regularly are: a few writers who answered after I constantly reblogged and commented on their works and a few people who commented and reblogged my work. Writing and blogging on here can be pretty lonely, depending on your personality and the time you're active (I'm from Europe and a lot of my followers seem to be living in Northern America, so there's the Timezone thing) ... And I found that the best way to strike a conversation is to reblog, comment, and to not be shy. I do wish I got more asks, though....

Likes: I actually filter them out. I have 793 original posts up at the moment. It doesn't give me anything to know how many likes a fic has other than to tell me which characters are liked more than others or maybe that one fic does especially well. My activity only shows me comments, asks, reblogs with tags, and answers to my own asks. I live for the tags and the comments.

Requests: I love talking to people about ideas. That's how I started the plotbunny game because I have so many ideas and so little time. And sometimes an idea just doesn't want to be written out fully. Requests are fun because YAY, I get some mail... but then I freak out because I don't really know how to write this NOW and then I freak out because it's been a week already, two weeks, wait, two months? I'd rather have suggestions where people tell me vague things like "I'd love to read something about this side character" or "Have you ever considered this character with a soulmate trope"? because then I don't have the feeling of failing the request when I write it a little bit differently.

Writing: I am a fast writer. I know that's one of my talents. I can churn out a oneshot of 1k words in less than an hour. People read slower than I write. That can suck sometimes because you've just posted this and you want to know what people are thinking but they're not as fast as you are. I do have a lot of ideas. I want to write constantly but my brain doesn't always want to. I am trying to respect that.

There are also certain things that I just feel wrong writing. I cannot write anything suggestive (I also don't like reading it) and everything past that gives me panic attacks. I can hardly write mean characters and jealousy feels so wrong to me that I cannot write it. I've also overdone it with the soulmark trope and now I feel like everything I write about it feels lifeless.

I write best in the mornings before going to work, but I don't have much time there. I don't need special music (but it helps), but I need to have at least some energy left and at best, no distractions. But I have been writing for over 20 years, so I will say experience helps a lot.

Honestly yall should’ve expected this from me, i am who i am lmao. But I’ve made the decision to stop writing on tumblr for the time being, i might use my AO3 account or my wattpad and post my oc based stories or even just make all of my oneshots into those oneshot books people have. But I just don’t enjoy writing as much anymore nor do I have the time.

Summary: You and Frank take Mary and your son, Jack, trick or treating. (Part of my Recollection of Love series)

Disclaimer: To kill two birds with one stone, this is gonna take place in the same universe as Recollection of Love, a series I wrote on Wattpad. Unfortunately, I’m not rlly interested in that book anymore, but I felt bad for leaving the people there on a “cliffhanger”. 

Just know, you DONT have to read that to understand it. This is just a drabble using those characters!

As always, plz pardon any mistakes, the stories are always proofread but I tend to make many mistakes regardless.

“Frank, honey, do you have the candy?!”

Since you were helping Mary put on her costume, Frank was supposed to be taking care of Jack and the candy on the front porch for the other kids. This halloween was your son’s first halloween, allowing Mary the chance to show him all the ropes. Of course, Jack was just still a baby so he wasn’t truly trick or treating, yet you still dressed him up in a pumpkin onesie just because. Let’s just say that getting the costume was a whole other story. 

“Look angel! Don’t you want to be mommy’s little pumpkin?” 

The little boy was in the shopping cart, happily clapping at your airy voice. Right in front of the little boy was his father who was shaking his head. 

“C’mon little man, how about you become daddy’s little superhero!”

Poor little Jack was confused as both of his parents were using funny voices to get his attention. You just looked at Frank, who was waving a Captain America costume at you and the baby.

“If anyone should be wearing that costume, it’s you Frank. You look just like the guy!”

Your husband took a few steps, taking the pumpkin onesie from your hands and then turning around to place a kiss on the crown of your head.

“I don’t know what’s going on in that pretty little head of yours, (y/n), but I look nothing like him.” 

“Well, it’s settled then! We are getting the pumpkin onesie!”

“Wait, I never agreed-”

You smirked at Jack, laying the onesie right beside him before leaning close to the baby, pretending to whisper, although Frank could hear. 

“Daddy knows he will never wins.”

It’s true. Frank could never say no to you. 

“Yes darling! I put it on the front porch!”

With everything set, you turned your attention back to Mary, who was ecstatic about her costume. This year she was going as a greek goddess, thanks to a book she had recently read and very much enjoyed. 

Mary was finally situated about ten till six, the four of you all meeting at the front door. Your first stop of course, was Roberta’s house, where Mary proudly explained the meaning behind her costume, earning some of Roberta’s famous cookies.

About five houses later, Mary ran into one of her friends and got permission from the two of you to go ahead, while you, Frank, and Jack trailed behind them. For the sake of entertainment, Frank thought he’d try his hand at comedy, one thing that was not his strong suit. But somehow you always ended up laughing, regardless if the joke was funny or not. 

As the two of you walked down the street, watching Mary from afar, Frank suddenly turned to you, gazing in your eyes with a mischievous grin.

“What do you get when you drop a pumpkin?”

Your lips slowly curled into a smile, awaiting the answer. 

“I don’t know. What do you get?”

“Squash.”

The words left his mouth and he had a dead-serious look on your face. With giggles, you wrapped an arm around Frank’s waist, looking up at him.

“And this is why you were a professor not a comedian.”

“Don’t worry! I have some skeleton puns too, they are very humerus.” 

A cheesy grin was on his lips and now you were uncontrollably laughing, not at the joke itself, but at Frank’s attempts.

“Your daddy thinks he sooo funny Jack! What are we gonna tell him?”

Little Jack, who was resting on your hip started giggling too, happily squirming when his dad reached over to hold him. Just like the scene in Lion King, Frank held the excited baby in the air, bringing him close to his face with a smile.

Playfully you rolled your eyes at the man, snuggling into his side a little more. 

“I guess we can make an exception, right Jack?”

You smiled at the baby, who smiled back a gummy smile that made your heart warm. 

In the distance, you could see Mary and one of her friends running back in your direction with three king sized candy bars.

“Guess what we got Uncle Frank!!”

Turning to Frank who wore an unreadable expression along with a nervous smile. He leaned down to the baby, to talk loud enough for him to hear, even though you and Mary could hear this as well.

“Little mister, you better not grow up. I’m not ready to take care of your mommy, Mary, and you, after your sugar highs!”

A breathy laugh escaped your lips and you willingly took the candy bar that Mary had offered to you, and you only. 

“See Frank, if you were nice, you’d get one too!” 

“Oh Jack, they still manage to outnumber us somehow…”

The night ended off with you, Mary, Frank, and Jack sorting through the candy, dividing it up, scarfing it, and laying on the ground, regretting your life decisions. But then again, it’s all in the name of Halloween!

how do you choose your titles - i dont i just close my eyes and spin a roulette wheel and see what happens. FR THOUGH i dont rlly know i just kinda.. choose a phrase or word i like (survivors, the last warriors) or sometimes i use song lyrics (uneven odds, a world alone)

do you outline - yes but im awful at it sjfblavrowvriw. i write very VERY vague outlines that are half shitposty and completely useless as an outline to anybody except for me. i often stray wayyy off the outline too and the story almost always ends up no longer following the outline and i free-write by like half way through 😔✊

favorite story ive written so far - as i mentioned above, red survivors!! the entire series is currently at over 125k words altogether and its been so much fun to write and talk about with its readers. its the first multi-chap fic ive finished in YEARS and im so happy ive stuck with it bc it means so much to me, these characters and their world and interactions make me so emo all the time

complete - out of the 6 i have on a03, 4 are finished! granted 3 of those 4 are oneshots bc im typically not that good at finishing multi-chaptered ones. and this number only includes the fics ive finished enough to get a single chap at least out so um. LABDKABDKBA

in progress - i usually only work on 1 fic at a time so i don't forget about one over the other so im only rlly working on a world alone rn! i am planning a remake of my old warriors story so that's technically in progress ive just been really really slow with it,,, oops

coming soon - ok ok actually i have another subnautica themed thing planned where its like a collection of one-shots of characters on the aurora! i rlly want to further explore and expand the survivors au characters and ive been thinking of a few different scenarios that i could write about,,, might never get finished but im hoping to start writing it once awa is completed! sometime this year if all goes well 👀
