Case #25: To Kingdom Hearts come.

This case has been brought to you by the blessings of the World Arcana.

Chief: Traverse Town. A haven for those who’ve lost their homes to the Darkness. Though it seems like a sad place to end up, you can find many things here. Like the First District.

The Second District.

The Third District.

There’s even a fountain plaza here.

And the Fifth District.

However, I think one of the more popular places in Traverse Town is in the Forth District. It’s a place you can normally go in a dream, but now can do it here. It is the Flick Rush stadium.

Here, the people of Traverse Town can battle each other with their Dream Eaters. Even our producer likes it.

Me: I haven’t been there in a while. But I hope to go again someday soon.

Cheif: True... BUT IT LOOKS LIKE YOU’LL HAVE TO WAIT LONGER! Last night, someone tied stadium to an extra large Gummi Ship with the V.I.L.E. logo on it and lifted the stadium away. And who was responsible for this? It was none otehr than the leader of V.I.L.E. The Queen of Crime herself. Carmen Sandiego.

Chief: After all this time, she’s finally making her move. You’re mission, gumshoes: Find the stadium and arrest Carmen Sandiego.

Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?

Chief: And one of these gumshoes could find her!

Mario: Coming up for another turn at bat. Junpei Iori!

Alight, here again! This time, I know I can do it.

Mario: The star of Persona 4 isn’t ready to sheath his sword yet. Yu Narukami!

Glad to be here again.

Mario: She’s going to try another chance make sparks fly. Dragon Kid!

I won’t fail this time. I’ll catch Carmen.

Chief: And here’s ACME’s special agent, Honoka Takamiya!

Honoka: Thank you, niisan. Welcome again to the show. But first, let’s take a moment.

Junpei: How come?

Dragon Kid: This is the last episode. After this, they’re may not be anymore episodes. Not even side episodes.

Junpei: Oh. I guess this must be a bit emotional.

Me: Just a little.

Yu: Then, what will you do after this?

Me: Let’s see. I collected all the likes from previous episodes including the side episodes. They total up to 70 likes. I need need 100 to prove I have what it takes to become a writer and 110 to be renewed for a second season. If I fail to get either one, well I’ll get to that later. Now let’s begin with this.

Honoka: Now as you know, we’re going to start you off with 50 CB. When you answer a clue correctly, you get 5 CB. The two gumshoes with the most CB at the end of the round will get to move on to the final round. Alright, here’s the first clue.

Honoka: That’s some reactor. I think this is used to power a city that’s a world. And I see plenty of greenery. It must be some kind of Utopia.

Junpei: Radiant Garden.

Honoka: Correct! Next clue.

Gumshoes, Carmen took the stadium to a world that I visit sometimes. If you’re lucky, you can come face me in battle. In earlier years, you would face me where they’re were a lot of clouds. But recently, you can do it in the Underworld.

Yu: Olympus Coliseum.

Honoka: Right! Next clue.

>The face appears.

Face: In a world of the high seas, pirates are real. A cursed treasure your fate will seal. A most famous pirate came to this fort. Sora and his friends met such ghosts of sorts.

Dragon Kid: Port Royal.

Honoka: That’s right! Next clue.

>An image appears.

Honoka: I know this room. One of the stars of Birth By Sleep sleeps here. It’s in a place that looks like a monastery. A monastery dedicated to the Keyblade. But it was turned into kind of castle.

Junpei: The Land of Departure.

Honoka: That’s correct! Next clue.

>The face returns.

Face: In a tropic like world, Carmen is hidden from sight. The sight of a leopard would give one a fight. A hunter of gorillas is also here as well, unless a certain wild man give him hell.

Junpei: Deep Jungle.

Honoka: You’re right! Now that we’ve tracked Carmen to Deep Jungle, let’s get to know more about with...

>A clap of thunder.

Honoka: The Lightning Round. First question. This one’s very important since it’s Deep Jungle. Why didn’t Deep Jungle appear in Chain of Memories?

Yu: Copyright.

Honoka: Right! Who was the ally who helped Sora and his friends in Deep Jungle?

Dragon Kid: Tarzan.

Honoka: Right! What was one of the pictures Jane showed Tarzan?

Dragon Kid: Hollow Bastion.

Honoka: Right! Who was the first boss Sora faced when arriving in the world?

Dragon Kid: Sabor.

Honoka: Right! Last question. Where was the heart of Deep Jungle located?

Junpei: The Cavern of Hearts.

Honoka: Right! That concludes the Lightning Round and the first half of the round. Let’s check the score so far:

Junpei: 70

Yu: 60

Chief: Oniisan, in my office!

>In the Chief’s office, the Chief was surrounded by a swarm of Spirit Dream Eaters all accompanied by the star of the series himself, Sora.

Chief: I know. I know. The Flick Rush Stadium is needed to better the bonds you have with your owners. Just give us some time. We’ll get it back.

I know you will. Although me and my friends had some bad experience with witches, I think we can trust you and your brother and his girlfriend.

Chief: Please don’t say the Princess is Oniisan’s girlfriend.

Ayaka: How about his princess?

Chief: That doesn’t make it any better.

Honoka: ...

Ayaka: I think we’re making him uncomfortable.

Honoka: You think?

Sora: But still, I think you and your gumshoes can do it.

Chief: I’m sure they will. In fact, whichever gumshoe catches Carmen Sandiego will win an all expense paid trip to the Disney Resort of their choice.

>Applause!

Honoka: I almost forgot Iceguin Ace is based of a penguin. Can I pet it?

Sora: Go right ahead. But be careful. It can be a bit frosty.

Honoka: In the words of Elsa, “The cold never bothered be anyway.”

Chief: Please don’t mention Winter right now.

Sora: How come?

Ayaka: The first episode of Yuri On Ice took place in Winter and she’s still getting over the infamous naked Viktor scene.

Sora: I see what you mean. Kairi watches that show too and showed it to me. I’m not exactly sure what’s going on, but I’m guessing Yuuri really likes Viktor.

Chief: Tell me about it. And it’s not just Yuuri who likes Viktor. Yurio likes him too.

WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP CALLING ME THAT!?

Me: Oh shit! When did you get here?

Yurio: Some old guy let me in. Set I might steer things up.

Chief: Old guy? Now who- Master Xehanort!

Sora: What!?

Chief: I was told by Mateo that Zuzo that there might be a chance that Master Xehanort will try to interfere with this episode because of its subject.

Honoka: Yikes. But what does Yurio- I mean Yuri have to do with this?

Yuri: Yuri On Ice is currently popular on Tumblr. I just wanted to make sure that the people who work here remind everyone that my name is Yuri, no Yurio.

Ayaka: Harsh.

Yuri: So far, I’m feeling crummy about yelling at everyone. Even though it’s part of my character.

Sora: If you’re feeling crummy, I think I have something to cheer you up.

Yuri: Oh shit, Mecho Cat. He’s so cool.

Sora: You can have him if you like. I can always make another one.

Yuri: Спасибо.

Honoka: You heard the Chief: Whichever of you who catches Carmen Sandiego will go to the Disney Resort of your choice. Now, Carmen just sent us this clue. Let’s see what it has to say.

Carmen’s Message

Carmen: Hello, gumshoes. The Flick Rush stadium is in someplace that is not technically a world, but is also a character. A woodcarver and his wooden son was trapped in this creature for a while. Can you figure where I’ve taken the stadium?

End message.

Honoka: Carmen took the stadium to a world that is also a character and this creature trapped a woodcarver and his wooden son inside.

Dragon Kid: Monstro.

Honoka: Correct! Before we move on to the next clue, let’s see just how much the gumshoes know about Kingdom Hearts. And helping us with the interview is famed figure skater, Yuri Plisetsky.

Yuri: And helping me with the interview is fellow skater and my coach, Viktor Nikiforov.

And helping me with the interview is my other protegee and fiance, Yuuri Katsuki.

Really? Thank you, Viktor.

Yuri: What is fatso doing here!?

Viktor: I thought this would be a good time for all three of us to hang out outside the rink. Now let’s get started, Yurio.

Yuri: Stop calling me that!

The ACME Interview

Honoka: Since you got here first, Russian Yuri, why don’t you go first?

Yuri: Russian Yuri?

Me: Would you rather he call you Yurio?

Yuri: ... No. Fine, let’s get this over with. Junpei Iori, how much do you know about Kingdom Hearts?

Junpei: I remember it was the most popular game ever. I was still in Gekkoukan High when 358/2 Days came out.

Yuri: Did you ever get that game?

Junpei: I did. Akihiko senpai got a Nintendo DSi from one of his admirers but wasn’t interested in it. So he gave it to me. I saw that the game was coming out, so I got it.

Yuri: And what did you think of it?

Junpei: Well let me put it this way, I agree with Demyx. Larxene may look hot, but she’s such a witch. No offense.

Me: None taken.

Junpei: But on the bight side, that just makes Xion even cuter.

Yuuri: Yeah, she does have that effect on people, doesn’t she?

Viktor: Because she surprised us all when it turned out she was a replica of Sora. And a surprise is one of the things that makes a story interesting.

Junpei: I know, right? Like how it was a surprise that guy who came to our class was Death.

Yu: Actually, I was told it was a shock.

Viktor: Some people surprise to make a story interesting, other shock to make it dramatic. Speaking of stories, Yu Narukami, how much do you know about Kingdom Hearts?

Yu: I don’t play the game, but Chie told me about it and I watched the playthroughs.

Viktor: I see. Which playthough was your favorite.

Yu: I have to say Birth By Sleep. Terra, Aqua, and Ventus are the best of friends. Just like with me, Yosuke, and the others.

Me: (snort)

Yu: What is it?

Me: You said “Yosuke and the others”. No “my friends”.

Yu: ... I’d rather not talk about it.

Me: Come on.

Viktor: Don’t worry, he’ll tells us his feeling for Yosuke when he’s good and ready.

Yu: ... I suppose. Love takes all kinds of forms. And love is a bond that definitely can’t be broken.

Yuri: Tell that to him.

Viktor: Still jealous, Yurio?

Yuri: Could you stop calling me that!?

Yuuri: I don’t think it can be helped. My name is also Yuri and it could be confusing.

Yuri: Hmph!

Dragon Kid: First: Can you not call me miss? And second: What girl hasn’t heard of Kingdom Hearts? I also liked Birth By Sleep and I was really upset when they terminated Kingdom Hearts X.

Me: They did what!? I didn’t even get the chance to play it myself! Those jerks.

Dragon Kid: But we’ve always got Kingdom Hearts Unchained X.

Me: I suppose I can play that... IF I HAD A SMARTPHONE!

Viktor: Calm down, I’m sure things will work out.

Me: Easy for you to say. You’re famous. You can get a smartphone whenever you like.

Viktor: True. And I do have one. But I’m famous because I earned it through skating. I can coach you too if you want so you can be famous and get a smartphone to play Unchained X too.

Yuri: WHAT!?

Me: No thanks. I tried skating before and I kept falling on my butt. No, I’ll become famous my own way.

Dragon Kid: By becoming a writer?

Me: Only if I get 100 likes and so far, I only have 70.

Yu: Should that really decide if you should become a writer?

Me: As long as I live under the same roof as my brother, his girlfriend, and their daughter, it does. My brother and his girlfriend think I’m useless, but I’m sure I’ll show them.

Junpei: And what if you don’t get 100 likes?

Me: Well, I said I would tell you so, here.

Dragon Kid: Wow.

Yuri: What’s that? A poster for a superhero?

Me: Yes. But I’ll explain it more on my DeviantArt account.

Yu: I see.

Me: Speaking of heroes, Yu kun, I heard Rise got you an acting job dubbing for a certain masked, fencing, horse riding hero.

Yu: ... Top secret.

Me: Well that’s a shame. I heard you even sang the opening theme.

Dragon Kid: Really? You can sing?

Yu: Depends on what’s going on.

Honoka: I can believe that. Now, before we return to the game, does anyone have any last questions?

Junpei: I’ve got one: What’s going to happen to Chidori when this is all over?

Me: That depends on the fandom. If they make here dead again, then she’s dead. But since Persona 3′s time is pretty much over, I don’t think you have anything to fear.

Junpei: Now I’m worried.

Yu: Don’t worry. I’m sure things will work out just fine.

Dragon Kid: He’s right. I’m sure you and Chidori will still have some time together.

Junpei: I suppose. I’ll be just fine.

Yu: That reminds me, I was told that you would get into the Major League for training Nathan. Did you make it?

Junpei: Still working on it.

Honoka: I see. Good luck, Junpei san. Now back to the game.

Honoka: I know that mirror.

Yu: The Dwarf Woodlands.

Honoka: You’re right! Next clue.

Gumshoes. Carmen took the stadium to the most curious place I’ve ever been. I came here after chasing a rabbit down a rabbit hole. I left that world by simply waking up to find that it was a dream. However, after seeing so many of my friends there, I’m starting to have my doubts.

Dragon Kid: Wonderland.

Honoka: You’re correct! Next clue.

>The face returns.

Face: In a world of Asian culture, a female warrior you will find. Carmen can’t be too far behind. The warrior’s friend is a dragon I see. Together they set from the Huns this land free.

Dragon Kid: The Land of Dragons.

Honoka: That’s right! Next clue.

>The face remains.

Face: A world full of light and virtual reality. A young man is looking for his father I see. Find Carmen in here before she scrams, or get captured by a rouge program.

Dragon Kid: The Grid.

Honoka: You’re correct! Now we managed to track Carmen to the Grid. Now it’s time to pick up...

Ooo, the Chase!

Honoka: Carmen is in a place with smaller Rectifiers.

Dragon Kid: The City.

Honoka; Right! Now she’s headed for the area beyond the Thoughput.

Dragon Kid: The Bridge.

Honoka: Right! Now she’s crossing the Bridge to where?

Yu: Tron City.

Honoka: Right! Now she’s getting on a Light Cycle.

Junpei: The Light Cycle Arena.

Honoka: Right! Now she’s boarding a bigger Rectifier.

Yu: The Throneship.

Honoka: Right! The Chase is over. Let’s check the score:

Dragon Kid: 130

Yu: 90

Junpei: 80

Junpei: How did I get into last place so fast!?

Honoka: I’m sure you’ll get back to first soon after this. Carmen had just left the Grid. But we managed to tack her down to three worlds: Destiny Island, Disney Town, or Twilight Town. Now, you must make a wager on your CB. If you answer the clue correctly, what you wagered will be added. But if you’re wrong, what you wagered will be deducted. Now gumshoes, begin.

Honoka: Gumshoes, here’s your last clue.

Honoka: What a beautiful setting. That sunset must be seen all over town. It must a very important to the story. Like a main character has been here. What kind of place is this? Gumshoes, your answers?

Junpei: I wager 50 CB and my answer is Twilight Town.

Yu: I wager 30 CB and my answer is Twilight Town.

Dragon Kid: I wager 45 CB and my answer is Twilight Town.

Honoka: The answer is... Twilight Town. Now, the final score:

Dragon Kid: 175

Junpei: 130

Yu: 120

Honoka: Dragon Kid, Junpei san, the two of you shall be moving on to the next round. Yu san, you did well.

Yu: I know. Maybe if I work hard enough and earn enough money, I can go on my own Disney trip. I still owe Nanako a trip to Disney Sea.

Honoka: I know. But for now, you can settle with this.

Honoka: We know that Carmen took the Flick Rush stadium to Twilight Town. All that’s left to do is go there and arrest Carmen. Now let’s go.

Sora: It’s a good things Donald and Goofy let me use this to get you guys to Twilight Town.

Honoka: I know. She rides like a dream.

Dragon Kid: Yeah. A dream come true.

Honoka: Here we are. Now, before you is a pro folio. In it, you will write the name of the Disney Resort you would like to go. Now begin.

Station Plaza

Beneath this breathtaking clock tower is the train station that leads to either Sunset Terrace or Yen Sid’s Tower. I just hope Carmen didn’t take either one.

Market Street: Station Hights

You can find two shops here: Wantz’s Items and Wallace’s Weapons. You can even check the bulletin board for odd jobs. I wonder if I should take one of those jobs when this show is over.

Market Street: Tram Common

Jessie’s Accessories, Biggs’s Armour, and Elmina's Moogle Shop can be found here. Along with the tram that goes around the area. You will even find a hole in the wall that goes through the woods to...

The Old Mansion

No one knows who precisely lived here (though some say it was Foreteller Ira), but now, no one lives here. But it was used by DiZ and Naminé as a hiding place to restore Sora’s memories. Now it maybe a hiding place for Carmen.

Sunset Terrace

The residential area of Twilight Town. Also home to the 7 Wonders. The producer’s favorite is the doppelganger.

Me: There’s really a mirror behind that waterfall. I wonder how that got there.

The Sandlot

Not the kind you play baseball in. This is where the Struggle Battle takes place. Unless Carmen replaced it with the Flick Rush stadium. I wonder how Seifer and his gang will react to that.

And the Usual Spot

Hayner and his friends offten hang out here. In the vertual Twilight Town, Roxas is also here. It would seem pretty cramp if the stadium is there.

Honoka: In each location, you will find the Loot, Warrant, and Carmen. If you can find all three in that order, you win. Begin.

Dragon Kid: Sunset Terrace.

Nope.

Junpei: Old Mansion.

The Warrant.

Honoka: Good, Junpei kun. But you need to find the Loot first. Then you can look for Warrant and Carmen. Go again.

Junpei: Station Plaza.

Carmen Sandiego.

Junpei: Tram Common.

Nope.

Dragon Kid: The Usual Spot.

Nope.

Junpei: The Sandlot.

The Loot.

Junpei: The Old Manion.

The Warrant.

Junpei: Station Plaza.

Carmen Sandiego. In jail.

Honoka: Congratulations, Junpei kun!

Junpei: Wow! I did it! Since this is the last episode, does this make me the ultimate champion.

Mario: Don’t get too excited, Iori.

>Suddenly, the ACME Crystal Ball rings. When Honoka answers it,... It’s Carmen!

Honoka: WHAT!? How did you get out again!?

You didn’t honestly think I can stay in prison for long, did you? Anyway, congratulations indeed, Junpei Iori. If I didn’t already have Waldo, I would fall for you.

Junpei: Really?

Carmen: ... Not really.

>Junpei looks disappointed.

Carmen: But still, you did well in capturing me, but I must go. So many things to steal, so little time. See you next crime.

>With that, Carmen was once again at large.

Honoka: Don’t be too sad, Junpei kun. You still have your trip. But before we get to that, Dragon Kid, you did well getting this far.

Dragon Kid: I know. But I guess I can always get my points on Hero TV.

Honoka: And you still go home with some prizes. Niisan?

Chief: Well, you didn’t manage to capture Carmen. But, for doing your best getting this far, we reward you with the ACME Crime App, a sweatsuit (Carmen Sandiego, Persona 3 or 4, or Tiger & Bunny), and the ACME Crime Pen.

Honoka: Now, let’s see which Disney Resort you want to go to.

>Honoka opens the pro folio. It says “California”.

Junpei: I know it’s still cold there now, but I really want to show Chidori what the United States is like. I’d tell you why, but I don’t want you to get in trouble.

Me: I see. Well, for the very last time.

Me, Honoka, and Junpei: Hit it, Ayaka!

Ayaka: Do it, Rockapella.

Me: And that’s it. The episodes are over. I may not make anymore unless I get 110 likes. But the last side episode is still to come. I’ll see you then.
