Secretly loving the fact that we don’t even know our Ciel’s birth name. He’s only “Earl Ciel Phantomhive” because of the deal made with the devil. Similarly, Sebastian is only “Sebastian” because his master is Earl Ciel Phantomhive. One cannot exist without the other: “Ciel” is meaningless without Sebastian and “Sebastian” is meaningless without Ciel.

If the demon was not there, Ciel Phantomhive would simply be the name of a dead boy. And if the spare was not there, Sebastian would similarly simply be the name of a dog. The contract bound them together to be so intimately entwined that their existences in this world are conjoined and relied on each other’s.
