Made a pilgrimage up to Wrigley Field this morning, bought a couple of bits of overpriced merch (a hat and a baseball), got asked by a guy to take a photo of him and his family in front of the big Wrigley Field sign, rode the red line back downtown, looked at the Bean (it's fine. It's shiny), wandered along the lakeshore northwards until I got to the river, turned back round and then spent a couple of hours looking at the modern and contemporary art (+ a proper look at the ancient Greek art) at the art institute. Then I had an hour to kill so I rode over to look at union station then walked back to the hotel via looking at the Chicago Board of Trade building (Big Art Deco Skyscraper)
#me feets hurt#ngl part of the reason for the pilgrimage was bc in waco people kept complimenting my red sox hat and asking if i was a fan#and it was a bit embarrassing to have to keep sheepishly going 'no i'm a cubs fan my mum just got me this hat in boston one time'#had a little chat w the guy at the till about how difficult it is to follow a sport from overseas (he's an f1 fan)#but it's still worth coming to visit even if it is the off season#pointless post#i do really like how wrigley field is so nestled in the middle of the neighbourhood
