I'm more on PC when I play other games. If I don't cry myself playing Sims, I play Warframe instead! So like, if I'm tired of taking pictures and stuff in Sims, I take pictures in Warframe instead...like this:

I also play Mass Effect (both the Trilogy and Andromeda). Recently, I've received Fallout 76 from a friend, and I've been having fun playing it! Other than those, I also play Left 4 Dead 2 with friends when time permits. Base on the games I mentioned, I probably lean towards hack-and-slash and shooter games, story-rich, and character customization. I have other games that I don't play that much anymore (because of time...sigh), like the Gods Eater series. I've finished all Dragon Age games, and I don't want to touch my current world state anymore, unless the next DA game gets released. If I don't want to get stressed on shooting stuff, I get stressed on planning my agenda in Stardew Valley!

If I don't want any of those, I just hop on Roblox

When it comes to character customization, it's either I try to make my character as close to myself (self-insert) or an entirely new OC.

My Btvs opinions part 1

Okay so I finally finished Buffy the Vampire Slayer and just wanted to share my opinions on all of the main characters throughout the season. Forewarning though, some of this might be controversial!!

Buffy

Ah Buffy. The most main character to have ever lived. She truly slays. Like I just love everything about her. She’s fucking iconic. Shes confident. She is a total badass. She has her insecurities. She can’t drive. She is totally bisexual. She has amazing one liners and amazing outfits to go with them. The list goes on and on forever. Buffy has taught me a lot about believing in myself. Believing in my power. I’ve made a post on this before but a common theme in this show is Buffy feeling like she can’t do something and then stops herself and goes “wait a minute? I’m Buffy. Of course I can do this” and then she does it. It was truly inspiring to watch. Since watching the show I’ve had moments where I’ve doubted myself and then I literally thought of Buffy and got a boost of confidence. Buffy is so inspiring. She is one of those characters that I think will live in me for a long time. She is very close to my heart and honestly gives me strength. Ironically she wasn’t the reason I started watching this show but she’s the reason I stayed.

Faith

I am not joking when I say Faith was the reason I started watching this show in the first place. I saw an edit of her on TikTok and she was so fucking hot I instantly fell in love with her. So I decided I HAD to watch the show. So maybe my expectations were too big because I hate Faith now. Don’t get me wrong Faith is a greatly written character!! She was only in 26 episodes and is one of the most impactful characters on the show. But I still hate her. If it was any other show where Buffy wasn’t the main character, I might love her and be in the pro Faith hashtag. But because of the way Faith treated Buffy, I just can’t with her. Especially after s7. Like she just fucking irritates me. She is always wallowing in her self pity and jealousy of Buffy. She pushed all of her insecurities onto Buffy and made her seem like some prudish stuck up bitch when that was just far from the truth. She didn’t even have a clear image in her head of who Buffy actually was cause of how much she projected onto her. And she was sort of a pick me girl. And no arguments or deep analysis from her supporters will change my opinions on her because my feelings are based on my utter love and devotion to Buffy. When Faith and Buffy were friends I loved her!! I loved their friendship and I would have probably shipped them romantically. But when Faith started treating Buffy badly is when my feelings for her changed.

Willow

Willow is probably my all time favorite Tv witch. So much so that she made me want to start practicing witchcraft again. She has so many amazing quotes like “Occasionally I’m callous and strange” and is such a sweetie pie. And I have a ginormous crush on her. But Willow season 6-7 I do not like. She became very egotistical and I also blame her the most for bringing Buffy back. It is honestly very hard to separate my feelings for Willow from s1-5 and s6-7 cause that’s how much she annoyed me. But before I watched s6-7 I truly loved Willow. And Alyson Hannigan is a truly terrific actress. Dare I say one of the best in the entire show.

Xander

Okay here is where things might get controversial. I actually like Xander. There are definitely episodes where I hate him but for the most part I really like his character. He has a lot of flaws like being a “nice guy” and his occasional sexism. But most of that I feel it is just a sign of the times. That was how they wrote guys in the 90s and early 2000s. The reason I like him despite these things is that I like his heart. Like what he brings to the group is stability in the form of food or repairing Buffy’s house or driving them around or babysitting Dawn. I just love how they didn’t give him superpowers or a lot of intelligence but was still needed in the group. Or maybe not even needed just wanted. He gave what he could cause he loves Buffy and Willow. And he is so fucking hilarious. Like maybe we just have the same sense of humor but I legit find him funny. And he is one of the few characters who I liked more in later seasons that in years beginning.

Giles

I love love love loved Giles. He was such a dad to Buffy and supported her through so much. In s3 he was one of the few to understand the pain she felt with Angel dying and running away. I love how he made mistakes with Buffy but always tried to do his best. He was always there for Buffy whenever she needed him and was there for Willow at her worst and helped her rehabilitation. And most importantly—I love his sweater vests. As with almost every character in this show, I started to not like him in s6. I know they had to write him off cause he needed to be with his family in real life but it still makes me angry that he left Buffy at her absolute worst. It was just so out of character for him and it made no sense. That’s really the only thing I don’t like about his character. Also teen Giles and demon Giles will never fail to make me laugh hysterically.

the kiss quotient is filled with sex. lots of it. so much that it’s mind boggling that it won the goodreads romance award when really, it’s just smut with a dash of autism representation. the smut is more cringe than hot and there are way more scenes than necessary. like, at one point michael, our martial arts boy of the story, says “you're milking my fingers stella” and well, just no. no, thank you. and sure, maybe it’s sweet, but it’s also a hell of a turn off if someone calls your pussy a sweet potato or a little bird. ladies, try it out on the guys when you’re in the sheets and get back to us on how successful it is. (we have an hypothesis)

but back to the beginning. in the kiss quotient we meet stella, a 30 year old successful woman working as an econometrist in silicon valley (and let’s just here take a moment of silence for how obvious it is that the author is not a mathematician by how stella is portrayed like a stereotypical brainiac). and why oh why is this book called the kiss quotient when there’s no mention of any kiss quotients, i guess coherency is too much to ask for. 

the maths part isn’t important, but what’s really important for the plot is that stella is autistic and hasn’t really told anyone outside of her close family - consisting of her mother and father and like every only child (and autistic adult apparently) ever, she doesn’t have any friends. but luckily, she’s uber rich and is capable of buying a tesla for every time michael comes up with a new nickname for her pussy. and have we mentioned that her mother is weirdly obsessed with trying to marry off her strong independent daughter (who really don’t need no man!) so stella and michael meet each other because she hires him as an escort wanting to learn how to fuck. she has experience, but only with jerks (but which men in their twenties are not?!). so is this reverse pretty woman really giving hashtag slaying the day away, or?

and of course, stella’s autism can just be ‘solved’ by some very good shagging by michael. i think we should all try that next time we’re feeling anxious. it’s a curiously problematic take on an autistic character from an author who herself is diagnosed with autism.

the miscommunication trope is on full throttle here, although very badly executed. early on, when michael’s sweet cousin (whose name slips our mind, but he’s cute and probably more of the ideal man we all want) notices it, michael lets stella know that he knows in a very sweet lowkey way to which she acknowledged it. later on, it gets turned into this big reveal and they have a huge fight about it and as a reader you just kinda want to skip through to the end.

the point of view changes throughout the story completely forgetting our main character and the book ends up revolving around michael’s daddy issues instead of stella’s autism because her autistic traits have magically disappeared at michael’s touch. that’s what love will do to ya. so the whole premise of autism representation and stella being a girl boss just falls a bit flat when michael is the knight in shining armour who has so much more wisdom and experience than stella and how all her issues are solved by love and sex (where did the girl boss go?). and then we have phillip, her one dimensional jerk coworker, whose only contribution to the plot is being the villain michael can save her from.

is michael hot? well, not in our top 3 over book boyfriends. very forgettable (which doesn’t say much in bridget’s case). he’s sweet and cute and a good brother who cooks for his whole family which consists of his mum, many sisters and some more we forgot. the banter he has with his family is cute, so adorably written that whatever daddy issues he has gets forgotten by us and the author herself - and when it does finally get revealed it’s really fucking boring. come up with something original for once! we think he should have had it way worse for him to act so sulky. 

in the end, the kiss quotient is really just another booktok dark romance book in the sea of tiktok books. that it has been turned into somewhat of a franchise tells you everything about the publishing industry nowadays and nothing about complex female characters. we all like to read cheesy chickflicks, that’s the reason we wrote this, but perhaps we should raise the standards, girlies. if anyone can recommend a good fun, romance that’s not about dorky girls and creepy men and their toxic relationship, please do let us know.

Hello jules, it's me anonymous suzerain chatter and now returning as a fan of Not for broadcast. I just watched their latest DLC the time loop two or three days ago and i was shocked i didn't watch this last month when it was still relevant. Like i was super late but hey i found a new favorite like Adrien Blimey, he is so cool like even Peter is being replaced by a douche bag of a politician along with Julia on a coalition government like the way he chews on the politicians in a short amount of time so good and how he also tears apart about doctor magnus and his machine on using to general population and other dark stuffs he doesn't hold back. And my god it was such a curse to see the Nowverse of Not For broadcast like Jeremy Donaldson in the modern era along with Megan wolfe saying hashtag and subscribe. My stomach can't handle the pain i got when i saw them. And the crew member. I think he is a fantastic addition to the Timeloop casts. And it was so cursed that an alternate version of Megan wolfe kissed the crew member and Jeremy Donaldson on the lips. Like oh my god... this is wrong, What's this? Nope you two are best friends. Besties. Jeremy is with Jenny while Megan wolfe is for... I honestly dunno. But the almost ending where Boseman called every single guest to help Doctor magnus and the other professor woman to matchmake and confess their feelings to each other. And Alan James fucking brilliant addition to the chaotic guests. Also can i say how much i freaking hate Jeff Algebra?! Like brother ugh... what's that this man ranting about? Just stop. Take the temporary restraining order and never show your face and personality ever again. But anyway it was a fun DLC and I'm loving it.

Oh my god YES, the Timeloop DLC was so good, it was truly everything I could have asked for as a fan. Not gonna lie, I think seeing THE Adrien Atkinson-Blimey was like, the most surprising thing to me, I was NOT expecting that! He was always that background character you'd hear about during the intro speeches, getting into increasingly wild situations, but I never thought we'd actually see him, and in Incisors, of all things! Goes to show that there are other serious people working for Channel 1, lmao.

YES, wasn't the Nowverse so fun? I'm too bisexual so I gotta say it, but the trio absolutely SLAYED, they looked so hot there lmao. But yeah, poor guys having to do the whole 'like and subscribe' spiel, especially Jeremy, he's not meant to know what technology like that is like!

Oh, Colin is an icon, but we knew that already #colinsprongfan. I loved that he had his time to shine during this DLC, he really deserved it (and of course, it's totally hilarious that he's immune to the multiverse, cause of course lmao). But GOD YES MEGAN KISSING THE GUYS WAS SO CURSEDDDDD SHE'S A LESBIANNNNNN SHE'S FOR THE GIRLSSSSS (and oh, a JeremyJenny shipper? I see you're a person of culture, anon).

And yessss, the ending was so fun and sweet to me. I lovedddd the whole matchmaking shenanigans, Alan was absolutely amazing there with the kiss assist lmao. And oh god GEOFF YOU ALMOST RUINED EVERYTHINGGGGG LET'S KILL HIMMMMMM (but ok, he was funny, he gets to live for now...).

But yeah, it was sososo good. Everyone go play Not For Broadcast and the Timeloop DLC NOW.

me and nox concluded our nct marathon and im feeling oddly bittersweet about it. it was such a good experience. we still have so much more stuff to watch (we call together frequently to watch cinderella movies, we plan to listen to every new nct release in the future, and we also have more kpop marathons left) but OUG. THE NCT ERA IS OVER.

ether way it was such a good time and i'm glad we did this. it was honestly a rlly interesting ride. they had a rough start, like everything sounded SO weird initially vnfjvnjf with a few exceptions here and there. and then suddenly they had their hashtag slay era as noxia calls it, where they kept releasing consistently good music. of course highway to heaven was released during that era, literally nct's peak. and then everything went downhill again NVNJFNVJFVN THEY RELEASED MAKE A WISH. WHICH IS SUCH A MID, LEANING TOWARDS BAD SONG, BUT ALSO ONE IM KINDA OBSESSED WITH, ITS MY GUILTY PLEASURE. me and noxia had only listened to the english version but the lyrics in the korean version are so different??? like they actually make sense. whoever translated the song legit just pulled shit out of their ass and tried to make it rhyme. there was so much unmemorable shit, and then we got to hot sauce and OH MY GOD, HOT SAUCE IS SO BAD. i've heard it so many times before but idk why it rlly got to me this time. i think it was noxia's reaction to it but i started laughing so hard i had actual tears in my eyes, i was sobbing. and then the most devastating thing happened.

noxia looked at one of the guys and said "DUDE, THAT GUY HAS A SUPERM SHIRT" and she kept going back trying to find the frame and it was a fucking SUPREME shirt. i lost my mind at that.

then we got to sticker. we've all heard sticker. it certainly is a song.

and as for the more recent releases, i actually thought they were pretty good. a lot of nct's stuff is kinda just generic and unmemorable but occasionally it's kinda fun, and i do think after sticker there's been some improvement here and there. the world is healing. as noxia put it by the end of it: "their music just isn't for me. most of the songs aren't bad, they're just so generic, and i wouldn't ask someone to turn it off but i would also forget about it by tomorrow. every once in a while they release a BANGER and every once in a while they release the worst songs known to men."

yeah, i agree. i no longer think they suck, is just that when they give them bad songs they're SO bad vnfjvnjv. but there's redeemable qualities in their discography and for the most part, they're okay. overall their music is a 6/10 i think, but they have some rlly good songs here and there.

SPECIFICALLY i love wayv. wayv stayed consistently good all the time??? not a single miss. i was terrified when we got to the nct flop era and a wayv song started playing and it sounded kinda off. i remember noxia going "THEY GOT WAYV!!!" but it was fine, the song actually picked up a bit as it went along.

in conclusion: nct is. alright. not as bad as some people say it is, and also not as good. it's just okay overall. but i do think they have some potential, so i'm excited to see where they go in the future in terms of their music. maybe they'll get a full redemption arc.

NOOOOOO, THE END OF THE NCT ERA....I'm not surprised that ur rating of their discography was 6/10. I wonder if nct is more of an...experiment for sme. Bc they already have a unique group dynamic (Idk of any other groups that just keep adding new members bc that's their gimmick + them having so many subdivisions + having one of those subdivisions be dedicated to just putting the members on rotation), so maybe they're throwing things at the fans and seeing what can be marketed and what can't. Seeing how much bad music the fans can take before they start dipping gjskfkfj. I don't have any evidence to support this, I'm just musing here

Also not the supreme shirt.....it would be so funny actually if that had been a superm shirt. Imagine if sme was trying to promote superm thru nct 😭😭

Every month in Moonshine, we make a vow on the New Moon, and paint as a way to offer up energy towards the attainment of our desire. This past new moon, I painted about wanting to balance compassion with impulse, and made a vow to *pause* before i act. This led to a deep period of introspection about a relationship-ish thing I was in, pausing to really lean into how I felt about it. And then I acted in full awareness of what I was choosing (a hand up to say ‘no’) and why I was choosing it (too much old tape around ambivalence, and avoidant attachment).

There are breadsticks – you know – those delightful ‘between relationship’ encounters that are delicious but are never going to be the main event, and then there is the roller coaster that is feast or famine, hot or cold, and while I am all over and a huge fan of breadsticks, I am not wired to withstand feast or famine.

Which doesn’t mean it was an easy choice. I had to weight the weight of ‘nothing at all’ against ‘a little something now and then’, but when the latter comes with anxiety, the choice, for me, is clear. No hard feelings. Not working for me. No more un-dating for me. If I do venture out again, it will be in the context of *actually dating* someone who *actually wants to date*.

So, I’m good with that.

I was out with my lovely friend, Sal, today. YOU MUST CHECK OUT HER ART SHE IS AMAZING! Anyway, we had the most amazing lunch – a crisp, citrusy Sauvignon Blanc (Kim Crawford), a goat cheese platter with roasted garlic, and lettuce leaves to wrap it in instead of focaccia, and a deeply, deeply earthy wild mushroom soup with basil oil. We got caught up on what’s going on. Did a quick (like, for me, quickest ever) trip to Curry’s to pick up a few needful things (in my case, fluorescent Liquitex Soft Body paints, and a few new brushes, and in her case, Copic refills). We marvelled at my restraint, and laughed at my uncharacteristically tiny bag of stuff.

I adore her. I really do. She’s just…

Well, let me tell you. I was talking about wanting desperately to upgrade my skills, because while it is true that most people don’t sign up for my classes because I make great art (I make okay art! Don’t get me wrong! It’s okay! But it’s not great!), I would really like to be creating art at the same level as I write. Which is a little unfair because I have been writing since I first held one of those chubby blue pencils in my hand in kindergarten, but I have only been painting since late 2009, and I work *so hard, y’all, like you have no idea*, so time is at a premium, and there is very little time for ‘skills upgrades’, if you know what I mean.

But I know it’s time. I have some catching up to do. I want to be really good. Not just ‘passably okay’, but, like I said, at least as good at the art part as I am the writing part (and I am really fabulous at the writing part, so I have some catching up to do!).

Anyway, I was saying this, and she said, “Well, that’s it, Effy. You’re going to come over a few hours a week, and we are just going to draw.”

Just like that. You and me, we’re going to slay this thing together. We’re going to get you there. 

That’s the kind of friend she is.

This is where the average blogger would say hashtag ‘so blessed’ but, really, all I’ve got is a gobsmacked, watery, stupid ass grin on my face, because whoa, man. So. Fucking. Blessed.

I’m playing with branding, because there is a lot of slick stuff out there that makes me have branding envy. I hooked myself up with a five day challenge/course (for free) called Vibe Your Tribe put on by Jessica at Photograph Your Brand. 

She’s got us asking ourselves what kind of unicorn we are (I’m a goth/emo unicorn), what words we use to describe our personality (a little on the dark side of fey, crotchety swearbear) and challenging us to use photographs of ourselves that actually reflect our personalities to that we will attract the right people. She also has us writing elevator speeches of the ‘very quickly describe who you work for, what you do, and what you believe’ kind.

Anyway. I’m having fun with Canva, which was a new discovery for me, and this morning, I made a few branding graphics that thrilled me, and one that legit*CRACKED ME THE FUCK UP*. I love them so much. Here are just a few.

January #mbbinstachallenge Look 1 (Week of Jan. 9-15): Minimalist Skin and Bright Pink Lips

Happy hump day! OK, here’s my second look for week #1 of the #mbbinstachallenge using the same idea of a bold, colorful element on super clean skin. Lots of you are participating, and I love what you’re coming up with!

In the look I did on Monday, it felt super weird to see myself in bright eye makeup with absolutely no color on my cheeks, but it feels TEN TIMES weirder to wear bright lips today without color anywhere else on my face.

Maybe that’s because when I normally do wear a bold lip, I’m usually also glammed up?

I dunno…

But I do know that when I look at these pics, the lips REALLY STAND OUT. All I see are lips, lips, lips!

The model in the pic above looks like she’s wearing a bright pink lipstick outlined with a slightly darker liner. I wanted a similar vibe, so I went with MAC Candy Yum Yum and NARS Costa Smeralda Velvet Lip Liner, and I kept the liner purposefully un-blended to help it show up brighter in pics.

Also, it looks like this model isn’t wearing any foundation or concealer or mascara, or really anything at all, but your girl doesn’t roll like that, LOL! Oh, hell no. I had to put on a little something, so I used Make Up For Ever Smoothing Primer, and then a little bit of Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum before setting everything with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural.

I’m getting so many ideas from your looks so far!

Look 1 of the #mbbinstachallenge, hosted by @karenmbb, is a "bold, colourful element". I stepped out of my neutral comfort zone and used the @katvondbeauty Metal Matte #eyeshadowpalette – shades Nebula, Velour, and Glitz. As a rule, I'm iffy about bold shades, but I have sinusitis and can't go out, so I figured that this challenge was the right motivation, and the bright shades have cheered me up no end, despite the watery eyes. I used for skin @lorealmakeup Pro matte foundation in 107 as spot concealer, for my under eye I mixed it with @maccosmetics Lustre drops in Sun rush, my foundation was @natura.mexico tinted moisturizer and my powder was @citycolorcosmetics HD powder. For eyes I started with a nude pencil from Oriflame and use a green eyeshadow as first liner and @sleekmakeup Lantern blush from the Pumpkin trio as second liner; for brows I used L'Oréal Brow artist in Medium dark. Originally wanted to go all out with @karenmbb 's #mbbinstachallenge but unfortunately this @maccosmetics Madly Sunny Pro longwear colorstick made my eyes a bit uncomfortable so I've to tone it down for going out (it's the overall dryness on my lids). I kinda like both though, for different occasions. Savory oatmeal — it’s a thing

After I made it and posted this video on Instagram last weekend, I was really surprised that more people hadn’t tried it before. It’s great pre-workout food because it has complex carbs and protein.

You just take regular oatmeal, but instead of adding sweet things to it, like honey, fruit, milk and sugar, you add savory things to it, like veggies, cheddar cheese, eggs and spices.

Please tell me you’ve had savory oatmeal before! It’s the best, especially when you don’t want toast or something frozen.
