More Random Canon Sing Things I Noticed PT.3?
Johnny had his hair dyed teal for his Sing 2 performance.
Marcus is an extremely punctual person as shown in the storyboard.
Gunter doesn’t actually cause problems for himself, which judging by these movies track records, is impressive.
Both Johnny and Meena seem to be wearing Converse in both movies.
Mike claims to have gone to the Lincoln School of Music, which I’m not sure I believe but ok.
Gunter refers to himself as Uncle Gunter when talking to Rosita’s kids.
Clay winks a fair bit when he is talking with the troupe.
There are apparently awards in the entertainment industry called The Golden Piccolo and The Archer Newman Award.
Jimmy’s bodyguards are apparently around the clock? Whatever they were being paid was definitely not enough, I can promise you that.
Both the Q-Teez and Mizuki are big fans of Ash’s.
The dancers wear a unisex practice uniform of tights and a leotard.
Marcus is the only one of the gang who’s name isn’t clearly a possible nickname. Stan could be Stanley/Stanford, Barry could be Bartholomew, and Johnny could be short for like 10 different names.

can I please request a blurb or something where the reader admires Mike’s eyes? it’s canon that he once went on a date with a girl in high school who never went on a second date with him because she said his eyes were “too intense” so I would love to see his reaction to the reader saying that it is their favorite thing about him :) I enjoy reading your work btw!
my favorite things
pairing: mike schmidt x gn!reader
summary: mike has never had anyone compliment him, not in a long time, at least.
warnings: light cursing
word count: 389
author’s note: super short, but i just LOVE how this turned out. hope y’all love it ☆
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“and i just can’t fucking believe how stupid this is because. . .”
mike was ranting about one of the many, many problems he had at his new job. you had been dating each other for about 4 months, but since this wasn’t your first time listening to him, you decided to fix your eyes on one of his features.
today, you decided to fixate yourself on his eyes. oh, you could get lost in his eyes forever. they were brown, but when the light shines on them, like how the sun does when he wakes up in the morning, there’s a slight greenish hue to them. they almost turn hazel. it reminded you of the clear, autumn sky.
it sounds cliché, but you thought that his eyes told so much about him. there was a tired, stressed look to his eyes. but in moments where it was just the two of you, together, alone, they were loving. longing. like you were what he was looking for for forever, and he finally found it.
“hey. hey, are you listening?”
mike brings you back down to earth with his question while waving his hand in your face. he doesn’t look upset at the fact that you were obviously not listening to him. he was just confused. a little amused, too. maybe there was something on your mind, he thought. i mean, you were staring into his eyes for five minutes straight, and he only noticed now.
“what’s with you?” mike asks.
“nothing, i just…you have really pretty eyes.” you confess.
he laughs and rolls his eyes. “yeah, sure.” he says.
“you do!” you suddenly get defensive. you knew he was never the confident type—hell, he rarely said one good thing about himself, but you were surprised that out of all the compliments you gave him, this was the one he denied?
“they’re my favorite thing about you.”
you move over to sit right next to mike, and you put his arm around your shoulder and lean into him.
“and i have a lot of favorite things about you, mike.”
you look up at him and smile. he smiles back, and suddenly all of the stress from his eyes disappeared, replaced only by love.
“oh, yea?” he asks.
he gives you a sweet kiss, one full of gratitude.
“tell me all about it.”
please give feedback! it’s very appreciated ☆

Hey! Really love your writing. Can you write where Eddie meets college gothic henderson reader when she visits Hawkins to visit family and is just smitten and fascinated because he's never seen a gothic person in Hawkins before. So when Dustin asks him why he's staring at his cousin, he's just shocked? (Perhaps the reader looks like this?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Combining these together since they are pretty similar! Thank you for requesting 🫶🏻

Tumblr media
It was the peak of summer when Eddie met her for the first time. She had him stop in his tracks and stare. She was completely different than any girl he had ever seen. She had dyed hair, a mixture of blues and some white. Her makeup was fierce and bold. Her skin was painted white and her eyes and lips coated in black. She was gorgeous and gothic. She was so different but a good different.
Her nose was pierced and her face looked sculpted by God himself. Eddie was smitten the second he saw her and it only got worse when she talked to him.
"Dude, why are you staring at my cousin like that?" Dustin asked, they watched as she hugged Dustin's mom.
Eddie couldn't form words, staring as his mouth went dry. Dustin waved a hand in his face but Eddie didn't even blink. All he could feel was his heart racing and his palms getting sweaty.
"Hey Dusty," she said as she walked over. Her ring-covered hand messed with his hair. Then her attention moved to Eddie.
"Who's this?" she asked. Eddie gulped as her eyes settled on him. She was even more perfect up close. She looked him up and down, a small suggestive smile on her face. She made Eddie squirm but he liked it.
"This is Eddie, he's the master in Hellfire!" Dustin said, "He usually never shuts up so no idea what his problem- OW"
Y/N laughed to herself as Eddie gave Dustin a hard elbow to the chest.
"Well Eddie, my name is Y/N," she placed out her hand. Eddie admired her dark nails and clunky rings. He smiled as he shook her hand, his rings clicking against hers.
~~~
Eddie would like to say it only took him a few days to get a date with her, but it took him a whole month to get the sentence out. And then another month to ask her to be his girlfriend.
He wouldn't admit it, but he sobbed the day he dropped her off back to college. He cursed himself for not graduating when he should have because he would have followed her to any school. But they refused to break up. It was stronger than a summer fling.
Eddie was a lovesick puppy when it came to her. He wrote letters, wrote her songs, wrote poems, and always mailed some type of gift. She always wrote him back and he had a dresser filled with things she sent him.
The first holiday break was coming up and it was all Eddie could talk about.
"We get it, your girlfriend is coming," Mike groaned into his hands. The rest of the lunch table sighed as Eddie went on another rant about the things he had planned for when Y/N came into town.
"Don't forget she is coming to visit family, not just you," Dustin said as he rolled his eyes. He liked that Eddie and Y/N were together, but Eddie didn't know how to share.
"Yeah yeah" Eddie shrugged him off
~
"SHE'S HERE!"
Dustin and Eddie raced to the front door, shoving each other out of the way.
"She's my cousin!" Dustin argued
"She's my girlfriend!" Eddie fought back
~~~
It was clear Eddie was in love and that he would do anything for Y/N.
"Shit, I forgot to grab extra butter" Y/N groaned as she took her seat. The previews for movies were playing on the big screen as Eddie stood up.
"I'll get it, baby," he said without missing a second. He leaned down and pecked her lips, waiting patiently as she wiped off her black lipstick off his lips.
Then he bounced out of the theater to go get her butter
~
"Can you believe her boyfriend said that?" Y/N ranted, Eddie sat on her dorm bed as she complained about her roommate's boyfriend.
"What a dick!" Eddie said, he didn't think what the boyfriend said was a big deal but he wouldn't tell her that.
"Exactly! So will you tell him that?" Y/N asked as she placed her hand on her hip
Eddie gulped but stood up, "I got you, baby"
~
"Eddie, can you grab that can next to your foot?" Dustin asked, it was movie night at his house and Eddie and Y/N joined him. Except they spent the whole time making out.
"Kinda busy here," Eddie hissed as he pulled away, then placed his lips back on hers.
Y/N pulled away and handed Dustin the can. Dustin thanked her as he glared at Eddie. But his focus was only on her, his dopey eyes staring at her.
"I want popcorn, do you guys want any?" Dustin asked as he stretched out his legs and set his can back down
"No," Eddie said, leaning in to kiss Y/N again but she placed her finger on his lips.
"I kinda do," she whispered
"On it," Eddie said, standing up as fast as he could, his foot smacking Dustin's can and spilling it all over the floor. But he walked past it and headed into the kitchen
"EDDIE! COME ON!" Dustin yelled
~~~
Before he knew it, they were together for years. They both finished school and got a small apartment. On their days off they stayed tangled up in bed together.
"I love you," Eddie whispered as he pecked her lips
"I love you too," she said as she kissed him back, her hand on his cheek. He smiled as he felt the cold new ring on her left hand.
He gently grabbed her hand and kissed her knuckle. Then he kissed the new engagement ring he placed on her finger last night.
"I can't wait to marry you"
Tumblr media
Steve Harrington is a pain in the ass
For 1,248 days he has done nothing but torment you, say slick shit behind your back, to your face, and on your fucking locker, how childish!
But for 1,248 days you've done nothing but fight back, called his phone and told him he won a life supply of Farrah Faucet spray (which he didn't) and you dropped off an empty pizza box to his house. Two ways to break a mans heart.
You hated Steve and Steve hated you that as that. It will always be that. Right?
There were twenty minutes until the last basketball game of the season, the last basketball game of Steve's entire high school career before he went off and graduated, doing who knows what after. He was gonna miss his friends, his status, how your legs looked in those knee high socks you always wore—Steve shook his head, fuck, he couldn't go in the game with a hard-on, he splashed cold water on his face, trying to remove the thought of you, you you you
You groaned as Nancy dragged you into the gym—hundreds of your peers crowding the bleachers, she continued to tug on your arm despite your protest, “Nancy, this is so fucking stupid, I don't want to see a bunch of guys running and sweating everywhere” you whined
Nancy gasped, “Are you insane?! Who doesn't want to see sweaty guys running around” she giggled and finally she pulled you into a seat
You can't believe you were here, you don't do basketball games you don't do school sports, especially if those sports consist of a big haired boy with an inflating ego
Just as the game was gonna start there was a commotion behind you, six smaller heads rushing into the seat, Nancy turned around to see her brother and his friends sitting content on the wooden bleachers “Mike! What the hell are you doing here?”
The boy in question scoffed, rolling his eyes, “We came to watch the game Nancy, don't flatter yourself”
You muffled your laughs with your hand as the siblings continued to squabble but soon after an obnoxious buzz interrupted the moment and Hawkins High's very own basketball team ran out to the court
Sighing, you prepared to be in your own personal hell for the next two hours
...
The game got fairly interesting, score coming down to 12-10 by the second quarter. You've made eye contact with Steve a few times each time ending with a sneer, you were mad, mad at yourself for eying Steve's arms as they flexed, the sweat on his skin shining under the reflection of the gym lights
The buzzer did what it does best and buzzed, signaling half time, you rolled your eyes and tapped on Nancy's shoulder, “Hey, I'm gonna go use the bathroom”
she nodded at you, giving you a thumbs up before you slipped out the bleachers, various bodies crowding the hallway, you just made your way to the restroom when you saw a big line forming out the door and along the bricked walls a sigh rolled through your lips before you eyed your surroundings until you you spotted the staff bathroom
scanning your eyes through the crowd, you slipped into the secluded restroom, quickly hopping from foot to foot until you reached the stall, you actually had to piss really bad and you wanted to grab a snack
quickly pulling down your skirt as you hovered over the toilet, finally getting the relief you needed, better than a fucking orgasm
Suddenly the bathroom handle started to jerk, nearly making you fall into the the toilet. Nervously you looked around realizing an actual staff member could come in, there was one stall. You were Fucked.
instinctively you deepened your voice, calling out “Uhm, occupied!”
that's when you heard a deep chuckle that came from a man causing you to panic a bit more—you yanked the skirt back over your hips, was your adult voice slightly convincing? Hell no
You decided to peek through the crack, trying to see how bad the damage would be when you glimpsed at a pair of slender legs clad in miniscule shorts, the ones the basketball team wore, you rolled your eyes realizing who the legs belonged to, “Fuckin' hell, Steven”
you let out a sigh, one you didn't know you've been holding in, you nimbly unlatched the stall lock, not paying attention to the smug boy who pushed himself off the wall, following you to the sink
“I'm honored you recognize me so easily sweetheart, truly”
You scoffed at his faux sincerity “Yeah well, your smell was telltale sign”
“I smell wonderous, thank you very much” Harrington bought his hand up to his chest faking offense once again
“Why the fuck are you here!?” your eyebrows furrowed as you glanced at him through the mirror
Truth be told he didn't know why he was here. He may or may not have seen you slip into the bathroom over the crowd, he can accidentally always notice when you would walk into, and out of a room, even if it was filled with tons of people
“The real question is what are you doing here?” he crossed his arms, leaning on the sink next to you, watching the warm water cascade through your fingers
“I was obviously taking a piss before you came prancing in here with t-those, booty shorts!”
Steve practically shrieked an amused, yet bewildered look on his face as he stared a you “you wish I was in booty shorts!”
you scoffed, the rough paper towel scratching at your hand as you murmured “slut”
Steve audibly gasped—the nerve of you
“you're one to talk”
“I know you're not calling me a slut–spell it!”
You don't know how but suddenly Steve's chest was pressed against yours as your back was pushed into the sink, the both of your breathing got heavier as his brown eyes gazed into yours
That's when he attached his lips to yours and brought you into a heated kiss, his tongue slipping through the small opening of your lips causing you to snap back into reality and push at Steve's chest
“You're a fucking asshole”
He pulled you to his lips again, his hold on your jaw never faltering, his tongue swiped at your bottom lip, collecting the remainder of your chapstick from the plump skin, right before he pulled away, “Don't think I never notice the way you check me out huh?”
His voice, laced in lust, causing you to squeeze your thighs together, attempting to relive the ache between your legs “you're delusional”
Steve brought his hand up to your neck, you attempted to keep an unfaltering composure as he applied slight pressure, but your eyes betrayed you as they began to roll back
He let out a light chuckle “So if I were to reach into your panties right now, you wouldn't be soaking wet?”
You frantically shook your head, not trusting yourself to utter a single word
Steve lifted your skirt and flowingly slipped two fingers into your undergarments, swiping through your folds and collecting your wetness in the process
Fuck you bitch you mentally spoke to your pussy
The pads of his fingers began to circle your clit and his grip on your neck got tighter, the sound of your slick and moans caused Steve's dick to stir in his pants
“You know you never were a good liar sweetheart” he rasped into your ear, pushing his middle finger inside of you while his thumb continued to rub circles on your bud
“M-more, please Steve I need more” your legs started to grow weak as his fingers reached deep parts of you that you've never even touched before
He easily slipped his pointer in next and began to make rapid movements in your pussy
“ Yeah? And you called me the slut earlier, yet look at you,” The sensation he caused in between your legs and the pressure he applied to your throat made you dizzy “Tell me who the real slut is baby, hmm?”
Your wetness coated your thighs as you felt Steve's hard on nudge your leg, you wish you were able to focus so you could pull it out right then and there and have his cum coat multiple parts of your body
“Fuck! I'm the slut baby, I'm the slut”
Damn it.
A smug look danced on his face as your low eyes bet his “Atta girl, I bet that's what the school would think too if they knew you were begging for little ole me”
Steve curled his fingers inside you and sped the movement on your clit up, the knot in your stomach tightened as he continued to whisper dirty words in your ear
“Yeah baby cum alll on my fingers, there you go”
“I can cum from just hearing your sweet sounds”
“You feel what you do to me?”
“Let everyone who's slut you are, go ahead”
“Fuck Steve, I'm cumming” your tongue started to go numb as your eyes rolled to the back of your head, your pussy clenched around his fingers causing his movements to still
You snapped back to reality, your breathing heavy as Steve removed his fingers from you, you feeling significantly empty compared to when he was deep inside you, you watched as he licked his fingers clean of your wetness, a moan leaving his lips as he sucked on the tips of his fingers
“Wow”
You rolled your eyes straightening your skirt as you tried to steady yourself on your feet, still trying to catch your breath, you ignored Steve's eyes on you
“Knew some day I'd have begging for me sweetheart”
You huffed, “Don't you have a game to get to Steven?”
Steve's eyes widen as he stood up straight “Oh shit!”
Hi!!
Today was my birthday and I don’t know if you have requests open, but if you do, could you please write a Mike Wheeler x Munson!Reader? In which Y/N is Eddie Munson’s younger sister and secretly dating Mike and, well, getting into spicy things in his basement?
I would thank you a lot ✨
Hands off - Mike Wheeler x reader
Pairing: Mike Wheeler (Stranger Things) x Munson!f!reader
Warnings: smut, secret affair, blowjob, face sitting, slightly inexperienced Mike
Love note from Nina: first of all, happy belated birthday, darling! 🎂 I hope you had a great day. Second of all: HELL YES, and here you go.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Hands off, Wheeler boy” Eddie had warned (partly jokingly, but not entirely) when he caught Mike staring at you once. “That’s my little sister, don’t forget that”
But it’s not like he could forget that, really. You’d hang out with Eddie and tag along for D&D campaigns pretty frequently - the gang’s new Druid. You didn’t attend Hawkins High, though, but went to some fancier school in the neighboring town instead. You had gotten the book smarts whilst Eddie had gotten the street smarts, as he’d always say.
Tonight, you had joined the gang for another D&D campaign, on Mike’s basement, as usual. Y’all had been playing for a good five hours or so (with an strategic stop to order a pizza), and besides the fact that the campaign pretty much always took place on a Saturday, it was getting late.
You had caught Mike staring at you a couple times - he was also sitting right next to you, knees “accidentally” touching yours from time to time as the game progressed. There was something about him that made you feel so pretty, so desired, you could barely resist the temptation to touch his thigh under the table. Ugh, you had to come up with a plan, what could you possibly do t-
“Should we wrap and get going, guys?” Dustin suddenly asked, interrupting your thoughts while checking his watch. He didn’t say it, but he clearly wanted to call Suzie before going to bed. Lucas and Will agreed, and so did you and Eddie.
After another round or two, the gang decided to stop the game on a cliffhanger, just to keep things exciting and pick up from where you left off in the following week. Bidding each other goodbye, the rest of the party walked up to the front door and left on their bikes.
“Fuck, you go ahead, I think I forgot something in the basement” you scratched the back of your head, trying to seem nonchalant. “See you at home?”
“Sure, munchkin” Eddie agreed, not seeming suspicious at all. “Just take care on the way home later”.
Going back to the basement meant getting Mike alone - everyone else had gone home and he had to clean up the mess. You walked down the stairs normally, making sure he’d hear your footsteps, just so he wouldn’t be caught off guard.
“Nance?” he asked, sounding puzzled, before seeing you at the base of the staircase, his beautiful hands closing the box in which he’d put all the D&D stuff. “Oh, it’s you” he smiled. “Are you okay? Did you forget anything?”
“Well, actually, i didn’t really forget it, it’s something I’ve been thinking about all day…” you said, mischievous.
Mike looked at you quizzically, wanting your tone to be as naughty as he believed he’d heard.
“Can I-can I help you with that?” He stuttered, head lowered to look into your eyes as you approached him, your chest now nearly glued to his.
Michael Wheeler had fantasized about you pretty much since the first time he saw you - waiting for Eddie next to your scooter in the Hawkins High parking lot, looking like a model in your leather jacket, long hair and red lipstick. He’d get lost in his words when you two spoke, his palms sweating and his heart pounding.
“I’m pretty sure you know you can” you looked up at him maliciously. “Or did you think you were being discreet back there” you pointed towards the D&D table with your head, “Touching your knee to mine every five minutes?”
Mike audibly swallowed. He had been caught red handed.
“Y/n, I-“ he started, nervously. “It’s just… You’re so pretty, and I know you’re Eddie’s sister, so I could never…” he bit his lip, embarrassed. “You know, no matter how much I wanted to… And believe me, I really do…”
You pushed him lightly towards the basement’s couch, and he fell back seating on it. His eyes went wide as you sat on his lap, one leg to each side of his waist.
“Eddie told you to keep your hands off of me, didn’t he?” Mike gulped, nodding with eyes still wide open as you slowly unzipped and took off your leather jacket, setting it aside. The white top you were wearing underneath was tight fitting and had a very low cut - besides, you were visibly not wearing a bra. “Well, he didn’t say anything about me touching you, so…”
You put your arms around Mike’s neck, gently running your fingers through the hair on his nape, your naughty eyes staring at his plump reddish lips. He could barely breathe, but his throbbing erection involuntarily pressing up against your core spoke for him.
“Tell me to stop” you whispered before your lips lightly touched his - and needless to say, Mike never told you to stop. You kissed him chastely at first, but as he seemed to gain confidence, you soon asked for entrance in his mouth with your tongue, and that innocent kissing soon turned into a full make out.
Mike’s hands went straight to your breasts, fondling them hungrily as he moaned into the kiss. You felt an instant rush in between your thighs, your arousal nearly painful; but you still wanted to play the game on the hard level.
“No, no, no” you broke the kiss to whisper to him, as you gently held his wrists and put his hands back on his lap. “Hands off, lover boy, only I get to touch you.”
Mike sighed, feeling dizzy with lust. He had never gotten drunk, but that’s what he imagined being drunk would feel like.
You kissed him once again, softly biting his lower lip, your hands pulling him closer by the collar of his Hellfire t-shirt. Mike timidly moaned as you touched him, his body quivering, aching for more. Soon, your lips found their way to his neck, kissing it, biting it, driving him crazy.
“Could I give you a little love mark, baby?”
“S-sure, I’m yours, whatever you want” he moaned, enchanted by you.
You bit and sucked lightly on his neck, leaving a small purple bruise behind, gently kissing it to relieve the pain afterwards. Mike’s hands grabbed your ass harshly, squeezing it. You couldn’t help but moan at the touch, right on his ear, nibbling on his earlobe.
“Again with the hands, mister? That’s not very Prince Charming of you, I’m afraid. Do I have to tie up those hands to make you behave?” you had grabbed his neck lightly, eyes studying his expression.
“Do you… do you want to tie me up?” he asked, trying to conceal the excitement in his voice.
“I’d love to, can I?” as he nodded, you took off your belt and tied up his hands with it, making a firm knot to secure it.
“Will you… will you still let me please you, y/n?” he nearly begged, his body squirming for relief in those tight jeans. “I always dreamed of making you cum”, he confessed.
You chuckled. He was so adorable, ugh.
“Have you ever had a girl sit on your face before?” you asked softly.
“No, I-“ he said, feeling a bit shy. Mike wasn’t very experienced at all, but it’s not like he was going to admit that to you. “I don’t think so”
“Can I?” you gave him your naughtiest look.
“Sure, beautiful” he agreed, eyes hypnotized by the sight of your perky nipples nearly ripping through the thin fabric of your shirt.
You stood up and stripped for him, garment after garment falling on the floor as he watched, tied up hands trying to palm his own erection for relief. You were so beautiful, and somehow, even more beautiful naked. He sighed, lustful, his face flushed as you approached him again.
You positioned him on the couch and slowly lowered your hips to Mike’s face, carefully adjusting your clit to where his lips were. You held yourself on the couch, not putting your weight entirely on him.
He licked your entrance delightedly, your smell and your taste making his head spin. He flicked his tongue to your clit and earned himself a moan, only to repeat the movement and keep hearing your moans. Your pussy was soaking wet for him, and you couldn’t bring yourself to reprimand Mike when his hands, even tied as they were, reached up to finger you as his tongue kept working on your clit.
“I’m so wet for you, Mikey” you moaned, your hips swaying onto his face. “You drive me wild, I want to cum for you so bad”
Mike whimpered as he kept eating you out like you’d be his last meal, and if Eddie found out about what happened tonight, it would be.
As his fingers curled inside you and his tongue relentlessly massaged your sensitive clit, getting you to moan more and more, legs shaking uncontrollably, you came on his mouth. Mike licked you through your high, still in disbelief that such a pretty girl was wet for him, moaning at his touch, desiring him.
You got off of him and lowered your body once again, kissing him and tasting yourself on his drenched lips.
“You taste so good, princess” he praised, still out of breath.
“I bet you do too, love” you pulled him up so he’d be seating on the couch again. Your legs were still shaky from such an intense orgasm, your head feeling light and dizzy, but you couldn’t wait another moment to have him.
You bent at your waist, hands on his knees, giving Mike your most devilish kiss. He lowered his head, and you immediately knew what he wanted. Putting your naked breasts to his face, he took one of your nipples in between his lips and suckled on it hungrily. His dark eyes were low and seemed in ecstasy.
“Can I give you a-a love mark as well? I mean, here?” he bit the side of your breast gently.
“Sure you can, love” you replied, nearly moaning.
Mikey sucked and sucked onto your skin, leaving a purple bruise behind, before repeating the same step at a slightly different angle. When you looked down, he had left a heart shaped bruise on your chest.
“I swear you don’t even exist, baby boy, I made you up” you chuckled and nuzzled your face onto his neck before pulling up his T-shirt to remove it.
You could hear Mike pulling air in between his teeth as you kissed his chest and his belly, working your way towards the hem of his pants. You looked at him in an inquiring way, hands on the button and zipper of his dark jeans.
He nodded rapidly, and you lowered his pants and underwear to his ankles, eager to take him in your mouth.
“Hold my hair back, will you?” You asked, and even with his hands tied, Mike managed to do it.
Soon enough, you had taken most of his length in your mouth, bobbing your head up and down, your hands on his balls and perineum, gently massaging him. Mike’s eyes would squeeze shut and roll back in pleasure, his lips red from so much biting and kissing, faint moans escaping them.
“Princess” he said, his voice barely audible. “You’re so good… Can I cum in your mouth?”
You simply opened your mouth and kept jerking him off as a response. Mike’s knees were shaking (and would’ve buckled if he wasn’t sitting down) as he let out a louder, satisfied moan and released his warm seed into your mouth. You swallowed it immediately, in slight disbelief that even his cum tasted good.
“Did… did you swallow it?” He asked, amazed.
“Of course, silly” you stood back up and kissed his nose playfully. “You taste so good, how could I not?”
“Thank you” He smiled, embarrassed.
“How long have you felt like that?” You sat beside him on the couch, grabbing your clothes back from the floor. “You know, being attracted to me and stuff?”
“I, uhm…” his cheeks had turned pink. “Ever since I saw you that day on the parking lot, waiting for Eddie” he confessed. “Yelling at him for not doing the laundry” you both laughed.
“You caught my eye that day too” you admitted, head tilted to the side. “I just thought I wasn’t your type, you know? I’m quite different from the girls at Hawkins High.”
“You’re way prettier than all of them” he shrugged honestly. “And a lot funnier, more interesting, more intelligent…”
“Do you want to… Keep seeing each other like this?” You suggested, hand lightly caressing his after you untied him.
“Kinda like… dating in secret?” He inferred.
“Eddie would kill you if he found out, wouldn’t he?” You laughed, understanding his point.
“Absolutely”
there’s no way byler isn’t real.
like are we actually fucking kidding?
i don’t even know why it is that we as a collective do so many analyses of things like b roll or outfits or song choices when byler is the most obvious and inevitable thing to happen in the history of television. literally all three of these characters arcs would be finished if byler were endgame. throughout the entire show, el has been a vessel for somebody else and their agenda, starting from when she was literally raised in a LAB. the fact that some of these mileven shippers who claim to love her don’t realize that the BEST POSSIBLE thing for her is to come into her own and find independence where she isn’t being controlled by somebody else or tied down by somebody else is absolutely ridiculous. that’s the entire point of her character!! the entire point of mike’s character since the second he was first bullied by troy was that he isn’t meant to be a conformist. he’s supposed to stand for what he believes in and be proud of his own identity. in dating el, he was quite literally suppressing his own identity. will is a character who was picked by vecna in season one because of the lack of practical love in his life. his father was absuive and he is constantly bullied at school. he’s the shy one in the party who gets overshadowed by dustin, lucas, and mike’s loud personalities in most of the scenes they have together. vecna targets him because he assumes that he will be an easy target who’s own insecurity will end up being the death of his morality. this is the same will who is only able to be broken out of a trance by mike’s monologue to him, proof of the fact that there is love in his life and people who care about him. will has spent the whole show going back and forth from madness. the only logical ending for him is the manifestation of this love that he has lacked his whole life, that of the one from mike. true, unadulterated devotion. it will be the thing to restore his full sanity and the person he was before all of the strange things went on because love is what keeps will tied to his morality. i fully believe that had i not been eight years old i probably would’ve been able to put this together the second we saw el run away and mike go on about “the best thing i’ve ever done” in season two. i truly believe that all of you milevens would be on board with this if will were a girl. get a grip.
to conclude: milevens are all fifteen year olds and not cool ones like me, they’re the kind who probably thought the great gatsby was a cool vintage romance novel 🤗
Dominik Szoboszlai x Reader - The Double Date Part 1/2
Part 2
Tumblr media
Reader unwillingly joins her best friend on a double date with Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Enjoy!
"Hurry Y/N, we're gonna be late!"
"Yeah, late for a double date at an arcade. How will I recover?"
"Ha ha, very funny. Just pipe down on the sarcasm when we meet up with the guys. Believe it or not, but I really like this one."
"Anything for my bestie."
You were surprised. Crashing a date was not included in your plans this friday evening. But apparently, your best friend, Lexi, met some guy at a football game a couple of weeks ago, and the two of them have been texting ever since. However, when it came around for them to meet, Lexi kept putting off the date for no reason. Your offer to chaperone was the only thing standing in her way of chickening out again.
"So....what do you want me to do exactly, linger in the background the entire date?"
"No, that would be creepy. It's a double date Y/N, ergo two guys and two girls."
"But I have a boyfriend."
Lexi laughed. "Please, Y/N. If you call your situationship with Mike a healthy relationship, I don't wanna know what you think I toxic one is."
"Hey, Mike is not toxic. He's a great guy, soon to be a doctor, actually. It's the only reason he's been so cold to me lately. He's stressed about school."
Lexi slowed down the strides of her heels, matching your pace. She did so, grabbing your hand. "I know Mike's a good guy, Y/N. But you two together....I don't know."
"What?"
"I mean, is he really your type? You're the total opposite. He's so sophisticated and fancy, and you are....well, you are....."
"Yes?"
"You're cool, Y/N." She blurred out. "You're cool and fun to be around. Mike, on the other hand, is so uptight. And he said my shoes were cheap."
You rolled your eyes. "I see you're still on about that."
"Cheap Y/N. He called my Saint Laurent that I spend two months' salary on, cheap. CHEAP! Just because I bought a pair from last season."
"Okay, okay. I admit that sometimes he can be a bit blunt and snobby. But he is definitely my type."
"You mean rich?"
"Yes, rich. I like 'em rich."
The two of you laughed all the way to the arcade. You arrived about ten minutes late and had to search for the guys who were already inside. You prayed that your date was at least cute.
"There they are!" Lexi pointed to the punshing bag machine surrounded by two guys, one of them getting ready to take a swing.
"Andy!" Lexi waved.
The guy standing by, holding a drink, turned around and met the two of you with the broadest smile. "Lexi, you made it!"
"No way." You chuckled.
"Be nice." She muttered.
The guy approached you and went straight in for a hug, even you got a hug.
"You ladies look gorgeous. Let me buy you drink."
"That's so sweet Andy, thank you."
You struggled to hold it in. Lexi gave you a stern look to hold it until her date had made it to the bar. She then gave you thirty seconds to burst out in laughter, gagging like you've never gagged before.
"Yes, yes, very funny. Are you done now?"
"Andy Robertson." You laughed, holding your stomach. "How on earth did you bag Andy, Robo, Robertson?"
It wasn't much dating a Liverpool player that tickled your soul. Lexi was gorgeous and well connected through her father's financial successes. A lot of famous men have been interested in dating her, including several professional athletes. But to throw Andy, Robo, Robertson, a bone  out of all those men, was simply outrageous to you. And quite hysterical.
"Will you stop it." She whispered.
"But...."
"And no mentioning of our nickname for him."
"Why?"
"Erm....because it's racist?"
"Lexi." You stopped and stared at her. "Calling someone, Groundkeeper Robo Robertson, is not racist."
"If you're Scottish it is."
"It's just a character from The Simpsons. Who doesn't like The Simpsons?"
Just then, Andy was seen returning from the bar. "I see you two ladies haven't met my friend yet. Come, let me introduce ya!"
You were quick to wipe your tears while Lexi's date took you to your table. It was right next to the punshing bag machine where a man stood clenching his sore knuckles.
"Dom, meet the girls. Girls meet my friend Dominik."
Again, no way, you thought. It was Dominik Szoboszlai, as cute as ever, dressed for a casual night out with....well, you.
"Hi." He smiled and shook your hands.
"This is the girl I was talking about." Andy said, and proudly but respectfully draped an arm around Lexi's shoulder. "This is her friend..."
"Y/N." You smiled.
Dominik looked you up and down, a flash of something curious in his eyes. But then, just like that, it disappeared.
"How about some games?" Andy suggested. "Since we're all here now."
"Yay!" Lexi cheered but ended up sucking at every game you played. You weren't doing very well yourself, but that was only because your opponent, Dominik, played against you as if his life dependended on it.
"Fuck, my nail!" You winced as his shot during Air Hockey ended up breaking the tip.
"Sorry." He shrugged. His attitude was quite shitty throughout the whole night.
"I'm going to the bathroom." You said, grabbing your purse.
"I'll come with you." Lexi offered, perhaps aware of your newfound mood.
"So...how are thinks going with Dominik, he's cute right?"
"He's a dickhead." You turned to the bathroom mirror, applying more gloss to your lips.
"Is he?"
"Yes. I wanna leave."
"But Y/N, you promised..."
"Honestly, Lexi, I don't see why I had to come along in the first place. Robo— I mean Andy... seems like a genuinely nice guy. I'm still curious about how you met him at the Liverpool game with your dad. Wasn't he on the pitch, playing?"
"It was after the game." She sighed. "And yes, he is really nice. The only problem, I guess, is all the songs we've made up about him."
"Right, the songs."
You had made-up songs about most players in Liverpool. As fans, you and Lexi loved doing it. It was sort of your thing. People on TilTik loved you for it.
"Yeah. Andy and I had a laugh about it, but now I just feel sort of guilty for the one we made about him and Groundkeeper Wille."
"Well, if he thinks it's funny I don't really see the problem."
"I guess you're right."
"I am. Now, get back to your date while I find a way out through the back."
"You're not ditching me, are you?"
"Of course I am. I just told you that Dominik Szoboszlai is a dickhead." Which was a shame since he was undoubtedly attractive.
"Please stay." Lexi pleaded. "I'll pay you."
You laughed. "Fine, but I'm not playing anymore games."
"Deal!"
The two of you walked out of the ladies' bathroom and back to your table. The guys were still there. However, the two of them looked ready to leave.
"Heya..., do you ladies, maybe fancy going elsewhere?" Andy said in his lovely Scottish accent.
"Why, are you bored of us?" Lexi said, angst in her voice.
Andy chuckled. "I was thinking the opposite. The two of you look so beautiful tonight. It's too beautiful for a place like this."
"Oh, Andy." Lexi hooked her arm with his. "We don't mind playing more games. Right Y/N?"
"Right....." You glanced over to Dominik, who stood with his eyes glued to his phone. He was texting someone. Probably a girl that he found more entertaining than you.
"It's no worries, really. Andy said. "Dominik actually knows the owner of the best rooftop bar in Liverpool."
"Gallaways?" You perked up.
"Yeah, how did you know?" Dominik frowned, his eyes on you and not his phone.
You shrugged cooly. "I've heard about it. My boyfriend says it's okay."
"Boyfriend?"
He seemed surprised.
"Yes, boyfriend. Maybe I should give him a call and see if he can help us get—"
"We're in." Dominik said, shoving his phone back into his pocket. "My friend has a table waiting for us."
"How fun." Lexi squealed. "Doesn't that sound fun Y/N?"
"Yes, delightful."
Dominik was watching you in the same way you watched him, quite spitful. It was lucky you were going to another bar. If you were going to make it through this double date, you were going to need something stronger to drink than beer. Much stronger.
red velvet cake - bf!eddie munson x fem!reader x brother!steve harrington
Summary: Your relationship continues to blossom with Eddie, however your older brother Steve isn’t the biggest fan and lines are tested
Warnings: swearing, smoking, tense situations, angst, fight fight fight, let me know if I miss anything!
Word count: 5.3k
a/n: Hey, all! Welcome to my first official post! If you enjoy, please like, reblog, etc! This was just a lil blurb, but I have other things in the works, so I’m hoping this goes well and I can continue to share with you all!
Tumblr media
               “I need you and your big hair to calm down.”
           Your brother looked to you quickly from the bathroom mirror, his face scrunched up at your comment.  “My hair is not big.”
           “You say that and yet you’ve gone through your second can of hair spray this month,” you retorted, grabbing the can quickly in your hand.
           Steve snatched for it but you held it behind you, ceasing any attempt of him grabbing it.  He sighed with a comb still lodged in his brown tuffs and leaned back against the counter.  Another disagreement between the two of you.  Nothing was new seeing as that was the typical way a brother and sister relationship stemmed.  From the time you were born, only a short year after Steve, you were at each other’s throats constantly and could never come to an agreement on anything.  Steve would steal your favorite toy that day from the toybox, so you’d steal the TV remote and sit on it to his disdain when your parents allowed you both to pick the nightly movie after dinner.  You’d spread gossip in the middle school of your older brothers crush on Tammy Thompson (before the singing career), and somehow most girls still believed in cooties, so he’d steal your clothes from your locker before gym class was over.  Today’s topic of conversation once again revisited your current dating life and now you were stealing his most prized possession.  This was the never ending, vicious, and annoying cycle only those who had a sibling could understand at the end of the day.
           “I really don’t see what the big deal is,” you said, crossing your arms.  “Eddie and I have been seeing each other for almost a year now and you still refuse to hang out with him.”
           “Yeah, it’s Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson.  He runs that club Dustin and Mike are in, huge nerd, and he’s in a band that plays at the Hideout” he grumbled.  “Also, he’s way older than you.”
           “He’s twenty, Steve.  It’s not like I’m a kid anymore,” you replied.  “Also, he’s a senior.  I’m a senior.  And Hellfire is actually really cool if you’d take up the invites I’ve extended.”
           Steve shook his head, wagging his finger.  “No, no, you’re a senior.  This is his third time being a senior.”
           “And he’s gonna graduate!  He finally has a C in Mrs. O’Donnell’s!”
           “It’s still weird.  And just because you date him doesn’t mean I have to like it.”
           A groan escaped you and your arms dropped from their defensive position.  “But the least you could do is be civil with him.  I can’t bring him over because you make everything so uncomfortable, and now with Nancy’s party coming I’d just like the two of you to get along for once!”
           Steve looked to you after your minor outburst and his eyes traveled your face.  He couldn’t help but be a little annoyed by you but he hated that in a sense, you were right.  He’d only based his opinions on Eddie off of what he knew from when he went to Hawkins High and what he heard around town.  You’d always dealt with his on and off again flings that never worked out and continued to accept each one as they came through the door so why couldn’t he do the same for you?  It might be the older sibling in him screaming at him to watch out for his baby sister but you were getting older and dating was just naturally right behind.  The thought ran a chill down Steve’s spine.
           “Fine,” he sighed, standing straight.  “I’ll…  I’ll try. Just this once.  But I’m not going to the board game nights, though.”
           You squealed and the jump that came with it shocked your brother.  You could get past his comments this once.  “Thank you, thank you!  Oh, Steve, I could hug you!”  You made a face realizing what just came out of your mouth and you shook your head.  “But I won’t.  Gross.  Here’s your even grosser hairspray, I have to go call Eddie!”
           You shoved the can back in his hand and spun on your heels, now ready to face your boyfriend and his dislike for Steve.  Steve, however, felt a small smile creep up on his face at your antics.  His head snapped up at ‘hairspray’ and he groaned.
           “It’s not just hair spray!” he yelled after you, before looking to himself in the mirror.  “It’s Farrah Fawcett spray.”
                                            ●          ●          ●          ●
             Eddie had come to pick you up for your nightly drive together as soon as you had called, and you couldn’t help the excitement that buzzed in you.  He took note of this and turned down the head pounding sounds of Motley to focus in as soon as you had climbed in the passenger seat.  “What’s got you riled up, sweetheart?  Missed me that much?”
           You smirked, looking to the doe eyed boy. “You’re so full of it, Eds.”
           He tossed his hand to his heart, making those big eyes of his twinkle in the light of the dashboard.  “Only full of my love for you.”
           You couldn’t help the laugh that bustled out and Eddie soon joined in, his hand now grabbing yours in his.  He squeezed gently and you squeezed back, the cold of his rings sending goosebumps up your arm.  “Now come on, spill.  You sounded way too excited on the phone.”
You nodded.  “While yes, I definitely missed you, I talked to Steve today about Nancy’s party.”
           His hand lost a little grip to yours and you looked to him quickly, the smile on his face slowly disappearing and you frowned in response.  “Eddie, it was a good conversation.  He didn’t even say much in the negative category.”
           “Much?” Eddie scoffed.  “So I’m guessing we’re gonna talk about it.”
           “Well, yeah.  I mean, I would just really like you both to get along,” you shrugged.
           Eddie made a face.
           “For one night.”
           An eyebrow raised as he looked at you.            “For me.”
           That was it.  Right there.  Eddie was caught.  How could he say no to you?  Your relationship had been nothing but perfect, and there was a happy balance of entertaining each others interests.  You’d attend Hellfire meetings with him and watch Corroded Coffin practice, he’d come to your piano recitals and help you finish your notes for book club.  You’d share musical interests with each other and watch every movie under the sun, and you’d both agree Sixteen Candles would never been an option.  His Uncle Wayne had taken an immense liking to you as soon as you and Eddie became friends, he’d even tag along to your piano recitals sometimes when work didn’t have him in a chokehold.
           “I know you two have never really liked each other, but you’re my boyfriend, he’s my brother.  At the end of the day I don’t want to have to pick between the two of you, and Steve has agreed to set aside all of it for the party.  I just want you to be in the same boat.”
           “Is it just one night?” Eddie questioned, his eyes searching yours.
           “If I can get one night of civil between you two, I can die happy,” you smiled softly.  “And besides, it’ll be fun.  Everyone will be there, the kids, Nancy, Robin, Jonathon, and I’m making your favorite.”
           “Stop,” he gasped, the twinkle coming back and he grinned. “Please tell me it’s your red velvet cake.”
           “With the homemade icing,” you nodded, watching him throw the theatrics back on and he fanned himself.  “Mrs. Wheeler has been asking for the recipe since I made it at Holly’s birthday last year, figured the party would be a good time to make it.”
           “It’s always a good time for anything you cook,” Eddie praised, making you shift in your seat.  “Now I’m really looking forward to this party.”
           “Well,” you sighed, adjusting yourself in your seat and turning your full body towards him.  “I know something that might help the wait.”
           He noticed the change in your tone and his eyes didn’t lose the glimmer, just a different glimmer now displayed and he double checked the gear and threw it in park, having turned into the high school parking lot. “Oh?  Did you make something else for me?”
           “I brought only the best for you,” you smiled, leaning up and across the console separating you.
           Eddie bit his lower lip and his hand grabbed lightly at your face.  “Show me, princess.”
           Immediately obliging, you pressed your lips to his and he quickly pulled you over the console, resting in his lap.  He seemed to take all of this better than Steve. Maybe the party would work out in your favor, hell, maybe they could even be friends by the end of it? Maybe?  Right?
                                           ●          ●          ●          ●
             “I think it’s nice you’re setting aside your differences for your sister,” Nancy said, pouring a bag of chips into a large serving bowl.  Robin and Steve were helping her with last minute food prep as they awaited everyone to arrive.  Pizza was already there, sodas were in the cooler, Robin even brought movies from Family Video and Steve dug out the old board games your parents had stored away.
           “It’s just for tonight,” Steve retorted, grabbing a Coke and quickly opening it.  He could feel his usual nerves heightened with the agreement between you and him. He’d never admit it, but having his little sister genuinely involved with someone was a huge thing for him (but also it being Eddie didn’t exactly please him either).  “I told her I’d try for tonight.”
           “Why don’t you, I dunno, try everyday?” Robin said, raising an eyebrow.  “You’re missing out on future brother in law bonding time.”
           Steve winced, groaning out and waved his hands. “No, no, no, don’t say that.  You don’t know that.”
           “Ah, but you don’t know either,” the short haired fiend quipped and shrugged.  “Also it wouldn’t kill you to maybe get to know Eddie and form your own opinion. He’s sat with us at lunch a few times, he’s not so bad.”
           Steve looked to Nancy, his face stressed.  “Can you believe this?”
           Nancy pursed her lips, finishing up last touches. “I don’t think it’s honestly a big deal.”
           “What?  You agree?” Steve said.  “You’ve seen Munson and-“
           “And,” Nancy interrupted.  “-nothing.  I don’t have an opinion on Eddie because I don’t know him that well.”
           Robin gestured in support, throwing her arms out in front of her.  “See?”
           “Well he doesn’t make the effort either,” Steve defended.  “So why should I?”
           “One of you has to, or you both have the chance of losing y/n,” Nancy responded, raising her eyebrow at him.  “It takes effort from both of you.”
           “But-“
           The sound of shouting and laughing came from the front room and Nancy looked at him once more.  “Behave.”
           Steve sighed as the kids piled in the kitchen, scurrying over each other and grabbing what their hands could before Nancy shooed them.  “We have more people coming, guys, come on!”
           Jonathon followed in, shouting after Will and Dustin as they brushed past him into the living room.  He smiled kindly to Steve and soon took to the tension that radiated from the older boy.  “You alright?”
           Steve nodded, taking a quick drink of his Coke. “Yeah, just being scolded by women. Again.”
           Jonathon laughed briefly before Steve spoke up once more.  “Is my sister here yet?”
           “Uh, I think her and Eddie weren’t too far down the road,” he replied.  “I passed them on the way here.”
“Good, good,” he nodded. “Great, wonderful, terrific.”
           Steve continued on a tangent of positive words and Jonathon glanced between the two girls, pointing to Steve with an eyebrow raised.  Nancy rolled her eyes and shook her head.  Robin shrugged, sipping exceptionally loud on her drink.  Jonathon made a face at both of them and could only anticipate what to expect going into tonights events.
           The same thought had been crossing Eddie’s mind all day. He knew that despite how he felt, he needed to try his best for you.  That meant setting aside how he felt about your brother, how Steve made him feel all those years in school, every single time Steve laid the ‘freak’ bit on thick – Eddie was preparing himself to leave it all at the door as soon as you arrived to the party.  He could only hope Steve was on the same page and tonight would move rather seamlessly.  If all went according to plan, maybe they could continue hating each other again bright and early tomorrow morning.
           “Whoa!” you yelped, almost bumping into Eddie who had stopped in front of you.  The cake in your hands was fragile cargo and you swerved, saving it from meeting it’s demise with the pavement.  “Jeez, Eds, if you want any of this cake I would appreciate if you kept both feet moving or a heads up would be greatly appreciated.”
           He turned abruptly and made a face, scratching the back of his head.  “Um, yeah, sorry, sweetheart.  Just lost in thought."
           You couldn’t help but smile softly at him.  His nerves were on full display and you knew Steve was most likely in the same boat.  You’d do whatever you could to ease both of the boys tensions, to prevent anything from escalating, and you hoped they both knew you were on their sides and not against them.  It would be beneficial not just for you but the group, too, if there was common ground and structure and not the constant state of tension so thick, of awkward conversations, of debating if it should be both Steve and Eddie invited or one or the other.  Not only was it hard for you, but your friends who were also in the same predicament you were with two of the group members holding it out for one another.
           “It’s gonna be fine, Eds,” you said as you stepped up the small step to the door.  “Deep breaths, like I taught you.”
           He snorted, pushing the door open for you.  “Aye, aye, captain.”
           The eye roll that followed had Eddie pinching at your hips, causing you to yelp and laugh, trying to escape the attack.  “Eddie, stop!  I have a cake in-“
           Your back met with a firm surface and you gasped, hands gripping the dish even tighter.  You wobbled slightly, your feet finding an uneven surface and hands gripped your arms to keep you from tripping even further.  The eyes of Steve looked back at yours when you glanced back and you sighed, standing straighter after regaining your footing.  “I almost dropped the cake, Steve.”
           “Maybe Eddie shouldn’t goof off as much, then,” he stated plainly, removing his hands and making eye contact with Eddie who had set his lips in a fine, tight line at the statement.
           “Come on, Steve,” Nancy quipped, stepping in the room. “He was just being a little silly, that’s all.  Y/n, Eddie, there’s food and drinks in the kitchen!  Come on, I’ll help you get that cake in a safer spot.”
           You smiled to Nancy, looking back at Eddie and raised an eyebrow.  He shook his head and held up his pack of cigarettes, slipping past the three of you and towards the back doors.  A frown soon replaced the former smile and you slipped pass Steve into the kitchen. Nancy gave him a stern look and hustled behind you.  This would be a long night.
                                         ●          ●          ●          ●
             Eddie had rejoined the festivities shortly after his two cigarettes, his nerves only escalating at Steve and his comment.  Right off the bat, he had thought, he just had to jump into an accusatory stance.  He bit his tongue in your defense, but how long could he keep that up?  Jonathon and him had gotten into conversation you had overheard, and watched quietly from a distance.  Nancy and Robin chitchatted next to you, and the kids were already causing Steve’s inner mother to kick in.  Lucas and Mike were tossing a ball back and forth in the living room, Dustin and Will had turned on their favorite radio station and were singing much off tune to Madonna (much to everyone’s surprised enjoyment, even Eddie who only ever consumed that of every heavy 80’s metal or hairband), and Max and El were currently in a contest of who could crush a soda can the fastest: Max against her forehead, or El with her actually head?  Steve was in the current stages of trying to prevent possible brain damage, to both.  Erica was continuously bugging you for a slice of cake, to which you turned her down everytime.
           “Nerd,” she’d grumble.
           “Don’t you agree?” Robin asked, bumping her hip into yours and you quickly looked to her, eyebrows raised.  You waited and she glanced to Nancy, then back.  “Have you really not been listening?  Babes, this is the impending doom of the possibility of not getting new band uniforms.”
           “Oh, no,” you breathed, the end of ‘no’ hitching slightly in question and you couldn’t help the giggle that followed when Robin groaned.  Nancy joined in the laughter and Robin threw her hands up in exasperation.
           “Fine!  I’ll go complain to Steve!”
           “That might be good, actually,” you suggested, watching Steve stumble by with Dustin on his back and attempting to smack his hands away. “Looks like he could use the help.”
           “Dustin!  Dustin, Steve is not a piñata!” Robin hollered, following after them as you and Nancy watched in amusement.
           “So,” Nancy started in, refilling your cups and returning her gaze to the events taking place in the room next to you.  “They haven’t fought.”
           “Ssh!” you snapped quickly, looking to her.  “Nance, you’ll jinx it!  This is the most I’ve seen them not go at each other, even if they are just keeping to themselves.  It’s a start and I’d like to keep it that way.”
           “How long do you think it’ll keep up, though?” she asked honestly.  When you frowned at her question she set a hand on your arm.  “I want you happy, you’re my friend.  Knowing those two bone heads, though, I just worry they’ll drop the façade when you aren’t looking.”
           Your frown creased even further into your face.  “I don’t know what I’m gonna do, Nance.  It’s my brother and my boyfriend.  I love them both, but I don’t wanna lose either of them.”
           “I know,” Nancy sighed, before perking up.  “What if-“
           “Watch it!” Steve shouted, and all eyes directed into the living room.
           Eddie dusted Dustin’s shoulders off, before looking to Steve.  “You almost crashed the kid into the bookshelf, man, you should be the one watchin’ it.”
           Steve scoffed, rolling his eyes.  “Like earlier when you nearly pummeled my sister into the ground?”
           “Goddammit, Nancy,” you mumbled before stepping up a ways. “Steve, it was-“
           His eyes cast to you and he scoffed.  “An accident?  Like anytime y’all horse around?”
           “Hey,” Eddie snapped, stepping up to your side. “I’ve never laid a hand on her like that.”
           “Like what?” Steve retorted.
           “You know exactly what you mean,” Eddie said.
           Jonathon stepped up now, followed by Dustin.  “Come on, guys, everyone just caught up in the moment.  Everyone’s good.”
           Steve shook his head.  “I’ll be good when he’s gone.”
           “Steve!” Nancy said, shaking her head.
           “Like hell!” Eddie laughed.  “I was invited!”
           You sat a hand on Eddie’s shoulder, looking to him. “Eddie, calm down.”
           “Fine!  Then I’ll go!” Steve said, and he looked to you.  “Come on, Y/N, we’re leaving.”
           Everyone stared, Robin trying to talk quietly to Steve who was having none of it.  Nancy looked to Jonathon with a worried expression and the kids clamored to the other side of the room, just watching.  You stared at your brother in disbelief and shook your head.  “Steve, we just all need a break, please!  Let’s just all breathe a second!”
           “We can breathe at home.”
           Steve stepped up and grabbed your arm, causing Eddie to grab the other.  You squeaked at the force of the two boys, looking to Nancy with wide eyes.  They had never escalated to protectiveness with you involving each other in the same moment, it had never gotten this heated before and the worry crept in the pit of your stomach, causing bile to slowly rise in the back of your throat.  You swallowed it down, the panic on your face evident and Nancy immediately jumped in.
           “Boys!” Nancy yelled, grabbing onto Steve and Jonathon grabbing Eddie.
           “Come on, guys, this is stupid,” Jonathon added and patted Eddie on his back.
           “She doesn’t wanna go,” Eddie snarled, staring Steve right in the face.
           “I’m her brother, older might I add, so what I say goes,” Steve responded, Nancy tugging on his belt loop.
           “Guys, please stop!” you cried, wiggling in their grips.  “You said you’d try!  Just break it up!”
           Dustin and Max came up, prying the older boys grips and Robin stepped up to pull you aside, her arm slipping around your shoulders. Eddie shook his head, chuckling to himself and turned away from Steve which caused Jonathon to loosen his grip. Nancy kept a petite finger interloped in Steve’s belt loop for safe keeping.
           “Steve, why don’t we go outside for a minute?”  Nancy mumbled, tugging lightly.
           Steve broke his gaze on Eddie, wiping a hand down his face. He nodded slowly and turned towards her. “Yeah… yeah anything to get away from that freak.”
           The words slipped out without a second thought. Steve froze, as did everyone else, and eyes landed on Eddie.  The panic that set in was worse than the first time and you pulled away from Robin, going to Eddie immediately.  As soon as the words were out, Eddie’s shoulders tightened and his back went straight. Jonathon could see his face and he watched every emotion cross over it – shock, realization, anger, guilt, sadness, absolute rage.  Eddie couldn’t register who was near him and his hearing went into a high frequency pitch.  His eyes darkened and the only thing you felt was the shove, a rush of air, and your back hitting the counter of the island.  “Eddie, no!”
           Eddie swung first.  His fist connected quickly with Steve’s jaw and the elder boy stared stone cold at him as Steve stumbled to the ground.
           “Shit,” Dustin muttered and everyone was quick in action.
           Steve jumped up from the ground, Will and Mike trying to hold him back while Jonathon and Dustin grabbed for Eddie.  Lucas moved Max and Erica out of the way and Robin and Nancy stepped up to your side.
           “Let me go!” Steve yelled.  “Let me go!”
           “Knock it off!” Mike snapped, stumbling at the tug Steve attempted away from the younger boys.
           “Come on!” Eddie cackled.  “Let pretty boy get a nice swing in!”
           “Don’t push it!” Jonathon snapped.
           “I’m slipping!” Dustin yelled, his palms clammy and his upper arm strength nonexistent in the pull Eddie had.
           “Eddie, Steve, stop!” you shouted.  “Stop right now!”
           “I’ll never understand what my sister sees in you!” Steve shouted, glaring.  “She could do so much better!”
           Eddie scoffed and licked his lips.  “Like I haven’t heard that before!  At least I can land a gal, you strike out on every chance you get!  So much for being the Hawkins King!”
           “Shut up!” you again yelled.
           “Maybe you should listen to your girlfriend!  She’s clearly got the brains in this relationship!” Steve smirked.  “Third times a charm right?”
           “It’s no wonder she hates being at home!” Eddie started, and you froze.  “I wouldn’t want to be around someone as idiotic, full of themselves, and a kiss ass like you!”
           “Bullshit she doesn’t want to be at home!  It’s better than that trailer trash park you’re in! I’m surprised she hasn’t brought home bed bugs or lice!”
           “Ask her then!  You don’t even try to get to know her anyway, so what does it matter!”
           “I know my sister!”
           “Like hell!”
           Tears began to well in your eyes and you tried your best to swallow them down.  The adrenaline was suffocating, everyone getting their own taste of it.  Dustin’s grip slowly lost and Eddie pulled free the rest of the way, Steve finding his way out from Will and Mike.  Everyone started yelling all at once when the two got ahold of each other, causing mass chaos to ensue.  Fists flying, Eddie landed another blow to Steve’s eye – it would definitely be swollen in the next hour and shut completely by the end of the night.  Steve tumbled around with Eddie, landing two good blows into his ribs causing the metalhead to yell out – they weren’t broken but there would definitely be major bruising and tender for a while.  You attempted your own chance at pulling them apart, but the force of the two sent you stumbling and Nancy shouted, anger setting in for her at the two acting this way in her home.  “Knuckleheads, break it up or I’ll call Hopper!”
           The two continued their dance, nearly tumbling into the three of you and Steve slammed Eddie against the counter top.  Eddie flailed beneath him and Steve sent a blow to his jaw, causing Eddie to yelp in pain.  He glared up at Steve and reached around him for anything that would help him gain some traction.
           His hand landed in something mushy, his fingers feeling a heavy, thick, consistency on them but he went with it.  Eddie grabbed a fist full and landed a blow into Steve’s face, causing him to gasp and lose his hold.  Steve wiped his face, red crumbs and white icing coating his hand. He stared at it before looking up and it was on before you could stop them.  Steve grabbed his own fist full and the two went back to it, cake and icing flying in every which direction.  Food and drinks came with it and everyone yelled as soon, the entire party was coated in carbonation, crumbs of chips, and icing being flung every which direction.  Nancy tried to block herself, screaming out in anger.  Oh, how much trouble she was going to be in for this later.
           You felt the tears brimming, pushing, and soon tumbling over your waterline.  They were heavy, hot, and quickly cascading down your face.  Your chest heaved as you struggled to catch your breath and everything moved in slow motion in front of you.  The cake was destroyed, demolished, gone, as were any chances of your two favorite people reconciling and putting any differences behind them.  There went any chances of family dinners, trips, any chances of enjoying a Corroded Coffin show, any chances of a future that was healthy with either one.  You watched as they continued their antics, neither one of them sparing any glance to check on you, to see your reaction, for any sign or confirmation that you were okay.  In this moment, it was about Steve and Eddie.  It was always about Steve and Eddie.  Reflecting and looking back, even when it was you and only one of them, it turned around to discuss the other.
           Steve always wanted to know what Eddie was doing, who he was hanging out with, where you were going with him, if Eddie was trying to sell you weed, if you two were drinking.  Anything he could get dirt on for your parents.  Eddie always wanted to know what Steve was doing, if he was working, when he was working, and when he’d be home so he could plan exactly to come get you at the worst time just to annoy him.  It was little things, it was spiteful, and the two couldn’t leave high school behind.  Where did you even fit in to the equation?  At that point it’d be better for them to just date each other.
           Making your way to the now empty cake platter, a splash of Coke greeting you in the face on your trek, you grabbed the glass dish firmly in your hands.  The porcelain was completely clean, smooth, no crumbs of what had been.  This is what your life would be now; clean, smooth, no crumbs of what had been.  The surface, slipping back and forth in your hands, would not survive this fight either. Arms raising above your head, you could hear your pulse in your ears, not even the shout from Robin when she saw what you were doing, it was so loud.  Even when you screamed out in frustration, you couldn’t hear how actually loud you were, how it was almost deafening as the realization set over the situation in front of you.  Most everyone covered their ears with their hands, wide eyed and cowering back from what was to come.  With your screaming, you quickly brought the plate crashing down to the kitchen tile and shards of glass went flying.  The small pieces grazed your bare calves, probably not the best time to be wearing shorts.  Steve and Eddie were the two closest to the line of fire, both of them turning away and blocking their faces.  When the glass had calmed, that’s when your screaming did, and the deafening silence that followed felt louder.
           Everyone looked around, food and drink covering every surface in the kitchen and half of the living room.  The glass had spread from the bottom of your feet into the line of the living room, down the tile of the kitchen, and even some had managed to bounce to the countertop.  All eyes slowly landed on you, Eddie and Steve both finally taking in the mass destruction of what they had caused.  Tears continued to stream down your face, mixed with the icing slabbed on your cheek and the stain of Coke all along the collar and upper shoulders of your shirt. Eddie looked to your legs and saw the thin lines of blood from the shards, before meeting your face again.  Steve watched as your shoulders shook from the sobs held in, your face as red as the cake you had made.
           Oh shit, the cake.
           “Oh, baby,” Eddie started.
           “Kiddo, I-“ Steve added at the same time.
           “No!” you sobbed.  The room grew quiet again.  All eyes were on you.  This was your time.
           “I-“ you started, taking a deep breath to try and align yourself.  “I didn’t want to lose- to lose either of you.  I wanted th-this to work.  Just once!”
           Guilt began creeping over the boys, disappointment settled in Steve’s bones as he knew he let you down, Eddie feeling his own tears start to grow at the state you were in.  They didn’t want this.
           “But now,” you chuckled, causing both boys to go rigid in fear.  “Now I realize you’re losing me.”
           You looked to each of them, a sob tight in your chest and you choked it back.  With shaking hands, you wiped the remaining food from your face, and brushed past the two of them and everyone else.  The sobs finally racked your chest as you quickly made your way out the door, slamming it shut behind you.
           Steve and Eddie looked around before looking at each other.  They both were fucked up.  And they had fucked up.  Big time.
a list of my favorite spy school funny moments/quotes
- “What the heck are powdered nutgalls?” Chip asked. “It’s what you get after riding a horse at high speed for an hour,” Mike grumbled, gingerly adjusting the seat of his pants.
- Jemma Emma Dilemma
- “Or Agent Kumquat,” Chip added, and then both of them cracked up.
- Alexander glared at him, still smarting from his insult. “See if I ever buy you campfire treats again.” he said, and then stormed out himself.
- “Not necessarily. I could like them as a friend.” “First of all, you don’t have friends.”
- “Parcheesi?! I loooove Parcheesi.”
- “I lost the arm and the leg, but not the eye.” “Oh, how’d you lose that?” “A bug flew into it.” “Uhh, you don’t lose your eye if a bug flies into it.” “You do if it’s your first day with a hook.😒”
- “Although believe it or not, Nefarious actually got off easy. According to his file, his folks named his little sister Placenta.”
- “If there’s one thing I know, it’s women.” Murray exclaimed.
- Now that he had transformed into Hot Murray,
- “How good is your vision?” Mike asked. “It’s off the charts,” Erica replied. “I eat a lot of carrots.”
- “Supposedly the guy was a big jerk, and the peasants all rose up against him and burned him alive, and now his ghost roams the property, looking for a… fire extinguisher or something like that.”
- He was at the base of an extremely tall elm tree, speaking into a radio microphone and seeming far more lucid than usual—although the moment he saw Chip and Jawa, he went right back into his doddering act. “Skip and Yaya!”
- “Dad, I’m going to need you to act like you have no idea what’s going on.” “What?” Alexander asked, confused. “I don’t understand.”
- “Wow! Our pool at spy school didn’t have water slides.” “Really? What did it have?” “Bacterial contamination.😕”
- “So, this girlfriend of Mike’s…is he super into her, or just kind of into her?” “He’s mentioned marriage. 🙂”
- “I think plenty!” The principal said defensively. “My mind is a constant whirlwind of thinkery!”
- “Erica!” Alexander gasped, mortified this had happened in front of so many people. “We do not spit on our grandfathers in this family!”
- Paul Lee leaned close to me and whispered, “Has he uh..uh…had some sort of, um, brain injury?” “No.” I replied. “This is how he was born, I think.”
- “Erica! You’re driving on the wrong side of the street!” “I’m not driving on the wrong side.🙄” Erica argued, gunning the engine. “They are!”
- Chip pegged him in the face with another pair of boxers. “Warren, stop playing with my underwear, you pervert.”
- “Now? Here?” “National security is at stake.” “It was at stake this morning when I was having waffles in the cafeteria. We couldn’t have discussed this then??”
- “All these men are itching for a fight. And since I’m the alpha male here, they’re going to come for me first!” Alexander said. “The alpha male.?🤨” Catherine asked, amused. “Yes! It won’t look good for them to attack women or children, so they’ll attack me first!” “And me.” Murray seconded nervously. “I’m definitely the beta male here!”
- “Neither does Jawa. Why aren’t you suspicious of him?” “Jawa’s a freak of nature. You’re just a freak.”
- “Hey! Where’s my breakfast?” The woman socked him in the face. Murray reeled backward. “Okay! No tip for you!” He said, then collapsed on the floor, unconscious.
- I quickly replaced the skull and wiped my hand on my shirt. “This is sooo not how I wanted to spend my first day in Paris.” OKAY DRAMA QUEEN?
- “West Virginia?” Claire Hutchins called from a few rows up. “I thought that was all strip mines and inbred hillbillies.” “You heard wrong.” Chip shot back. “As you can see, there’s plenty of wilderness here. And the locals are far less inbred than the royal family.”
- “Do you not care one wit for your country?” “No! I care many wits for my country!”
- “What have you done?!” He screamed at us. “What have you done?!” “Well, it’s obvious,” I said. “We’ve blown up a rebel minivan.”
- Murray sighed. “I know you’ve got issues with Ben because he turned you into half the man you used to be.” (About Joshua)
- “Talk about being heavily armed.” Mike said. (Also about Joshua)
I have risen from the dead to tell you that there’s this guy who I went to school with who is just now watching Stranger Things for the first time ever, and I know this because I still follow him on instagram and he’s posting reviews on there. He recently posted his review of the first season and I started a conversation. I don’t think Stranger Things is really his cup of tea though so our chat was pretty shallow. He was nice though and seemed like he was genuinely interested in what I was telling him. However, he’s posted his review of the second season today and amongst other things he said that El’s story with Kali was unnecessary, and that Mike’s attitude towards Max didn’t make sense “given his characterization in season one”. So, I started another conversation, kindly telling him that “hey, I can explain to you why Mike’s attitude towards Max makes sense if you want me to” to which he then replied: “Yeah sure. Tell me why it makes sense and then I’ll explain to you why it doesn’t 😂”  ?!?!?!?
I then asked him to tell me why exactly he doesn’t think it makes sense, and I’m still waiting for a reply, but this entire conversation made me think of a friend I have (one of the few that actually watch stranger things) who has only watched every ST season once (maybe twice) and doesn’t engage with the show/characters outside of watching, who had a similar attitude towards me when we were discussing s4 a few months after it was released. Who could’ve guessed, we were talking about Mike, and she’s an avid Mike hater (because of course she is) and tried to convince me that she knows him way better than I do and that he’s definitely homophobic.
And I honestly just love how those two provide such a stark contrast to this guy who’s a friend of one my friends, who considers himself a Stranger Things fan and was able to talk to me about the show on a deeper level than the surface. He actually started the deepening of the conversation by expressing that “Mike isn’t one of my favorites, I just can’t really wrap my head around him. I know there’s this theory that he’s gay but I honestly don’t believe it”, and you know that was my cue! I told him that I was a strong supporter of that theory and I pulled out some of the evidence and he was immediately hooked! Maybe not directly convinced (to this day I’m not sure if he is) but the way he was still mind blown by the evidence I provided showed that he knows and has a lot of appreciation for the weight of dialogue and character wardrobe and set design. Not once was he unaware of what I was referring to when I talked about certain scenes etc. while my friend who thinks Mike is homophobic has zero to no recollection of what scenes there were in the first to third season and that guy who’s posting reviews on his story is missing two entire seasons of valuable information in making these judgements.
Anyway, I’ll post an update later on what insta-guy replies to why he thinks Mike’s attitude towards Max in s2 doesn’t make sense 🫡
The weeks passed slowly for Eddie, and he was starting to lose it. He felt antsy, his natural chaotic energy having to be contained as much as possible so he didn’t tear out his stitches… Again. So, it was with great relief that the powers that be finally decided he was well enough to finish recovering at home. Or at least to whatever trailer the government had seen fit to replace his actual home with. Wayne said it was great, new and updated and bigger than the one Vecna had destroyed. He wouldn’t have most of his shit, but Wayne and the kids had done a good job of replacing a lot of what he had lost. He had a second-hand cassette player and a bunch of tapes, a thrifted copy of The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings, and clothes that Robin had snagged from the school. The most important thing – his sweetheart – had been salvaged. He couldn’t wait to start playing again. He had written some pretty sick lyrics that he was excited to put music to.
Wayne finishing packing his bag just as a nurse came in with a wheelchair. He settled himself in and she pushed him out into the hall, Wayne trailing behind. He had her stop as they passed Max’s room. Steve was visiting. Steve was always visiting, never leaving either of them alone for too long. He noticed they were holding hands, which was weird because usually Max freaked out if anyone tried to touch her. Eddie was still constantly surprised by how good Steve was with the kids. How different he was with each of them based off their personalities and needs. Playful with Dustin, sincere with El, firm with Mike, soft with Max, heartfelt with Will, mentoring to Lucas. He understood people, saw them and what they needed. Eddie could never have imagined how much Steve gave of himself to the people he loved. Eddie wondered what Steve would give him, if he ever reached the level of friendship Steve had with the kids. And the thought sent a wave of longing so intense through Eddie that he was glad he was sitting down because his legs went weak with it.
“Heading out, Munson?” Steve asked, getting up and walking over to them.
“Yup! This place has had enough of my charms and they’re kicking me out.” Eddie shrugged and tried to steady his racing heart.
“You were a terrible patient, I don’t blame them at all!”
“I was a model patient, Harrington! I thought we were friends, how dare you take their side?” Eddie asked with feigned disgruntlement.
“How many times did you pull out your stitches, Munson?” Steve asked and folded his arms across his chest.
Steve had him there. He had pulled his stitches a few times trying to do things he shouldn’t, like play his guitar or - heaven forbid - go to the bathroom by himself!
“I can’t believe you’re going to leave me all alone here,” Max said from the bed. They had hung out a lot over the last few weeks, bonding over terrible wounds and angry music.
“Don’t worry Red, I’ll be back to visit. I would never leave you to the not-so-gentle mercies of the sadistic needle wielding nurses of Hawkins Memorial.”
Max smiled a little at the description. Eddie was ecstatic he could elicit even a small bit of happiness out of her.
“Onward, mighty stead!” Eddie pointed down the hall as the nurse sighed behind him. The staff were truly over his shit.
“Before you go, I wanted to give you this,” Steve said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a slip of paper. He handed it to Eddie. It had his number written on it.
“Call if you need anything, any time. I mean it.”
“Oh, you’re making a huge mistake giving me this Big Boy, prepare yourself for a lot of prank calls.” Eddie grinned up at him.
Steve went to grab the paper out his hands, but Eddie shoved it in his mouth to keep it away from him and mumbled, “kidding, kidding!”
Steve laughed and shook his head.
“Get outta here, Munson!”
The Pause
I am going to introduce you to this dynamic, that I would very much like you to consider: The Pause.
Karen taught Nancy about The Pause when she was ten because she suspected Nancy was going through a hard time at school. The Pause was half a little game, half a trust promise. The rules were simple: The Pause would start when they lifted both feet from the ground. When they did that, Karen explained, time stopped for them to take out of their chests whatever was bugging them, and as long as the game was going on, they could say anything (even swearing!) to feel better, and after The Pause finished (when their feet were on the ground again), whatever they said during that time will not ever be approached again. No judgment, no hard felings. Just release.
Nancy had The Pause present during all her life, because speaking her mind wasn't always easy. She would learn soon enough that speaking up wasn't the hard part; getting heard was.
Anyway, she found herself spreading The Pause. She used it with Mike once or twice. During those moments, Nancy recalled, it was when they got along better. Sad thing they never talked about it later.
Mike had taught The Pause to Lucas, who eventually, taught it to Max in an attempt to talk to her when she was at her worst.
Nancy used it with Steve after their first encounter with the demogorgon, and it was, by far, the one who was most affected by The Pause. She had been at Steve's a few times by then. She knew he didn't have anyone to talk to about his feelings, or what he had gone through, so she taught him The Pause.
That was when Steve fell in love with her.
Then she taught The Pause to Jonathan in Murray's place, and that's when they both learned about their true feelings.
Later on, he would use The Pause with Will, who, a few years later, taught it to El.
Steve taught The Pause to several people, though. The first time he used it, it was before the Snow Ball. He wasn't expecting Claudia mentioning his dad, and everything went downhill from that. They sat in the bed before doing his hair, and they talked about shitty dads, and unrequited crushes with the same girl.
That was the second time Steve fell in love using The Pause.
The next summer, in camp, right before confessing to Suzie, Dustin used The Pause, which gave him strength to do so. Suzie found it cute enough to actually give him his first kiss.
When they first started working in Family Video, Steve learned that maybe Nancy's legacy was the best thing he got from her. He sat on the counter a lazy day and told Robin about The Pause when he saw her weirded than normal, and she obliged and told about her identity issues. She also mentioned that the weirdest thing about that is the fact that she was starting to believe that Steve Harrington was his platonic soulmate, and she was afraid to tell him because he might break her heart if he didn't feel the same.
That was the third time.
Steve taught The Pause once more, to Eddie. They sat on his kitchen countertop, and there was a whole space between them, when Eddie told that he couldn't believe that he actually was ready to die, and he didn't know what to do with that now that he didn't. Eddie told him that he was scared that he'd gave up his place in the world, and now the world wouldn't give his spot back. Eddie told him that he was as afraid to leave as he was to stay in Hawkins, because he was starting to believe that he was falling in love with this hot jackass that was making him using a communication system that implied that they were not going to talk about it anymore in the future.
Steve broke The Pause to walk the space between them and kiss him, because those feelings were not meant to be approached just once in theit life. He needed them to be real, so he could say Steve that he loved him for the rest of his life.
That was the fourth, and the last time he fell in love using The Pause.
Funny thing is, The Pause was now a secret dynamic that everyone in the group knew, but Nancy wasn't aware by that, until The Pause came back to her.
And it came from Robin.
Robin taught Nancy The Pause when they run accidentally into each other a random night in a park, in late 1986. Robin knew something was wrong with her, so she took her to the swings and asked her to lift her feet from the ground. Then, Robin explained Nancy The Pause rules, who listened attentively, not fully believing what was happening. She considered to come clean and tell Robin that she knew about The Pause, that her mom taught her when she was a kid, but she left that unsaid. Instead, Nancy talked about how she felt that her relationship with Jonathan was going nowhere, and she was afraid that they were making each other miserable. She also told Robin about that she might have developed feelings towards another person. Towards a girl. Robin told her that she liked girls, too. Nancy told Robin that she was scared about that part of herself. Robin said that she got it, but it wasn't that scary once you surrounded yourself with the right people.
They held hands there.
That was the first time Nancy fell in love using The Pause.
Enemies to lovers Eddie Munson x Cheerleader! Reader, maybe some months ago Reader was trying to tell Eddie that she liked him, but Eddie was talking with his friends about how he doesn't like cheerleaders and jocks and that made Reader angry at him bc she thought that he liked talking to her (she was his client) so after that Reader started to act cold towards him, and Eddie did the same with her. One day, they got paired together for a Literature project, and they went to Reader's house to work on that but they only spend the afternoon fighting, a day later they went to Eddie's and they were fighting, again, but then they just stayed in silence and started kissing each other and that's when Reader confesses her feelings for Eddie and tells him that's she heard what he said, and he's like I wasn't talking about you, I liked you too, I still like you, and then they have make up sex (if you're comfortable writing that!) and start their relationship
No smut :/ I'm sorry
I hope this is what you wanted and you enjoy it. Thank you for requesting <3
Tumblr media
Y/N spent as much time thinking about Eddie as she did talking about Eddie. If she ever wanted to hide the fact she liked him, she couldn't. It was written on her face.
Which is why her friends are sick of her doing nothing to make a move. Chrissy was a girly girl herself, she knew Y/N wanted Eddie to make the move. She wanted Eddie to go after her so she felt wanted. But Chrissy also knew Eddie would never ask out a girl he believed to be out of his league.
After weeks and weeks of Y/N's friends pushing her to ask out Eddie, she was ready to do it.
She tried to shake off her nerves. Her fingertips gripped her textbooks tightly as she walked toward Eddie and his group of friends.
She was a few feet away, close enough to hear him but not close enough for anyone to recognize her.
"You asked my opinion and I gave it. I think asking out Rachel is a disgrace to our kind. She's a cheerleader and friends with all those jocks. Is she going to stand up for you when your ass is being kicked? Nah, I don't think so. Because she's a cheerleader and those are heartless shells."
Y/N felt herself freeze at Eddie's words. Any bit of confidence was washed away as his words traveled down the hall. She knew Eddie didn't like the popular crowd, but she thought he moved past it. She thought she was changing that perspective. Is that all he saw her as? A cheerleader?
Before she heard anything more hurtful, she raced right past.
~~~
"Oh yeah? What about Y/N?" Mike snapped back, ever since his breakup with El, he's had his eyes on someone new. And all he wanted was advice and instead, he pissed off Eddie.
"She's different." Eddie shrugged, in his mind there was no comparison between Y/N and any other girl.
"Because she's yours?" Mike argued.
"He wishes!" Dustin laughed.
"No! Because Y/N has shown to be sweet, kind, and accepting with everyone. She's more than just a cheerleader, but I can't say the rest about the team. Mike, you need to understand some girls are only cheerleaders when the outfit is on, find one like that." Eddie said, smacking down on Mike's shoulder.
~~~
Y/N felt too embarrassed to be near Eddie. She didn't know if this whole time he couldn't stand her. They never hung out outside of deals, maybe he only dealt with her because he had to.
She stopped buying from him and went cold turkey. She didn't bother talking to him in the halls, didn't look in his direction, and acted like he didn't exist.
Eddie noticed the cold shoulder immediately, and it hurt. He didn't understand the sudden change of attitude but he also didn't give it a second thought. Maybe she wasn't as good of a person as he thought.
~~~
Over the next few weeks, they didn't speak to each other. Until they got paired together for a school project. Y/N immediately wanted to beg for someone else but the teacher was strict and didn't handle the backtalk well.
It was awkward, and they both hated that feeling. Eddie sat on her floor, her feet dangling off the bed. She read out loud the book, but his mind was elsewhere. Her room was what he thought it would be, and he adored all the framed photos she had. Her room looked just as sweet as he always thought she was.
"If you aren't going to pay attention, I'll just do it myself." She snapped, and the heavy book slammed shut.
Eddie jumped at the noise but recovered quickly. "Sorry, I was just observing your room." He admitted.
"Well don't. Not like you'll ever be in it again anyway." She snapped again. It hurt her a little to say, a small reminder that they weren't friends and they wouldn't hang out like she wished.
"Yeah, got it." He said back, same snappy tone.
"Look you don't get to have an attitude with me!" She argued she didn't do anything wrong.
"Oh, why? Because we don't get to speak unless it's on your terms? And I'm just supposed to be cool with that? You completely flipped the script on me so yeah, I'm a little pissed!" He argued back. If anyone was allowed to be annoyed, it was him. He was ignored without an explanation.
"Flipped the script? No, what happened was you talked shit behind my back and I finally figured out how you thought of me." She said, her anger leaving as a small amount of sadness settled in her chest.
"Who told you that crap?" Eddie said he felt the want to roll his eyes.
"YOU!" She yelled, she stood up and towered over him. "I heard everything you said to Mike. You went on and on about how cheerleaders are heartless. I can't imagine the other things you said before or after."
Eddie tried to remember what she was talking about, the realization hitting him. He stood up fast, a fast apology on his lips.
"No no no! I did say that yes, but not about you! I would never say those things about you." He tried to grab her hand but she smacked it away.
"Ow" he muttered
"How did you not say that about me? I'm a cheerleader!"
"I know!" He panicked, "but I said so many things after that. You must have walked away or didn't hear me because I explained you were nothing like that."
Y/N felt a part of herself believing him. He sounded so panicked, which meant he was caught or he was trying to prove his innocence and needed her to trust him.
"What did you say?" She asked
"I explained to Mike that the girl he's interested in doesn't care about him. And I knew that because of what you showed me. I see how sweet and caring you are. You're nice to everyone and you don't use your popularity to have power over anyone. You aren't just a cheerleader, you are so much more than that. That's why you are different and that's why I'd never say mean things about you." His words and eyes were pleading for her to believe him. "I'm so sorry you got hurt."
"Well I shouldn't listen to people's conversations," she shrugged, " I appreciate your apology and I accept it. I'm sorry for not talking to you about it. I was hurt because I like you. And I was planning to ask you out when I heard everything." She admitted she turned her head to the floor, her cheeks flamed with embarrassment.
"Holy shit!" He exclaimed, "You like me? And like me enough to want to ask me out?" Eddie couldn't believe his ears. He wanted the same thing, obliviously, but he never thought he had the chance.
She gave him a look and he moved on. It was clear she liked him and she gave him an opening.
He moved his feet forward until there wasn't space between them. His eyes searched into hers for a sign, when her eyes flipped down to his lips he got his answer.
He licked his lips nervously, his hand reaching to cup her chin as he leaned in. His heart raced when she leaned in, both closing their eyes in sync.
Her stomach fluttered when she felt his lips. He smiled when he felt her kiss back, her hands slid around to his back. Her palms were flat against his shirt.
They kissed for as long as they could. Whenever one of them went to pull away, they'd drag them right back in.
Eddie couldn't wait to shove this in Mike's face.

top 5 favourite until dawn characters to WRITE vs top 5 favourite until dawn characters in general (if it's different)
it is such an important distinction med, and i thank you endlessly for letting me get into it 😏
WRITING
1. flamethrower guy/the stranger/jack: this one likely shocks no one. there's just. a joy. that comes with writing an unhinged, monster-hunting hermit. he kicks doors open. he lives in a burnt out hospital full of Creatures. he's larry fessenden. he's alive in canon for roughly 5 minutes. he's the light of my life. 2. mike: probably slightly more of a surprise because i don't write him OFTEN, but i love writing mike. lovelovelove writing him. mostly because, of the ud kids, i think he's the character who talks...the most...like i do irl??? similar speech patterns, i mean - same tendency to just. say things. that do not make sense. or things that did not need to be said. 3. EMILY: again, probably a surprise because i don't write her much, but my GOD there is a freedom to writing in emily's voice asldkfjdskf she's smart. she's mean. she always has at least three insults locked and loaded in the chamber. she's also the only character in the franchise to say "understand the palm of my hand, bitch." she contains multitudes. 4. dr. hill: gotta be honest here. i went through. a lot. of schooling for psychology. okay. like. however much you think that means? it was like. twice that. and i spent a lot of time - a lot of time - listening to professionals in the field talk in circles and say absolutely batshit things while sagely nodding and giving everyone around them knowing looks, and if i didn't have alan j. hill to channel all that lingering angst into, i might've exploded by now 😫 hehehehehe. i'm only sort of joking. 5. beth: what did supermassive give her? nothing. what does that mean? she can be anything i want, and i don't have to worry over whether or not it sounds believable in canon 😎 lmfao. in much the same way i looove writing jack because we get like. 10 lines and A Vibe from him, beth's a hoot to write for because, like. we know who her siblings are. we have an IDEA of what her home life must've been like...and everything else is up for debate!!!
JUST, LIKE, TO LOOK AT
1. ashley ashley ashley: they could never make me hate you bb. did she handle some things poorly? yes. does she make some questionable decisions? sure. would i give her the world if the opportunity presented itself? of course. look, i just think. she should get to do...whatever she wants. always. as a treat. :)c 2. matt: i am so. intrigued. by matt's whole deal. every second of it. he's a huge part of the prank but he's also hugely sympathetic. he has that incredibly cute moment with ashley right as they get to the lodge but seems pretty chilly (if not downright disinterested in) chris and josh, her best friends. he helps jess through the mines. he holds his own with emily. unless you play him a v certain way, he seems the most interested in smoothing things over between everybody. HE LEAVES. THE FUCKING. HATCHET. AT THE BASE. OF THE FIRE TOWER. i would love to live in his brain for just like...ten minutes. just really figure him out. (i need to write more with him too 😭 he has bewitched me, body and soul) 3. flamethrower guy/the stranger/jack: look. look i'm not subtle. i just. love that weird old man. i just love him so much. if supermassive said 'hey here's a dlc where you go through one (1) calendar day as jack fiddler, it costs $60 and is roughly 1 hour of gameplay,' i'd fold immediately. idk why. 4. josh: there is no one - NO ONE - in this, or any other, game who's so willing to commit so fully to the bit. my man had BLUEPRINTS. my guy had DEAD PIGS. bro sourced knockout gas and fake newspapers and real blood and made voice recordings and an alter ego and rigGED HIS WHOLE FAMILY'S VACATION HOME WITH BOOBY TRAPS, THREW A PARTY ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF HIS SISTERS' SUPPOSED DEATHS, AND EVERYONE STILL FUCKING SHOWED UP. say whatever else you want about him, josh had SOMETHING figured out, man. 5. jess: again. did she make some questionable decisions? sure. do i agree with everything she did? no. but after everything she goes through, after all the tragedy and agony and terror she is put through, this girl still has the wherewithal to grab a shovel and beam a guy in the head with it, and you know what? i respect that 🙏🏻 plus she wore hiphuggers to a party on a mountain in alberta in the dead of winter, and i just want to study her under a microscope.

[steddie, rated T, 1k, pre-relationship, hospital bedside bonding, smitten losers in their pre-crush era]
Steve is trying to relax further into the uncomfortable chair at Eddie’s bedside, sipping orange juice from a plastic cup, when Eddie croaks, “So… what are we?”
Steve chokes on his drink. It’s not the first time he’s heard that line, but coming from Eddie Munson, after Steve hauled his ass out of the Upside Down, threatened the hospital staff (verbally, financially, not physically, of course) to treat him, and then sat by his bed for the last 2 plus weeks watching crappy daytime TV reruns and feeling his brain rot (better to let his brain rot from the TV than to let it work itself into a panic focusing too much on the… everything else going on, he supposes)—it makes Steve sputter on his drink.
What are they? What are they? It's a ridiculous question—preposterous even. Well, they’re—Of course, they’re…
What are they? Well, it turns out Steve doesn’t really know, either.
At Steve’s silence, Eddie continues, “Not to get all Breakfast Club on you, but. Is the Prep going to be hanging out with the Bad Boy come Monday?”
“Well, we’ve already surpassed two Mondays," Steve quips. He can't help it. "We’re coming up on a third.”
Eddie gives him a deadpan look. “Semantics.”
Steve runs a hand through his hair. “The Prep gives the guy her earring in the end, doesn’t she?” Steve knows that’s… That’s really a non-answer. He’s deflecting. Maybe Eddie will just run with it.
(No such luck).
“Yeah, but I mean,” Eddie starts after taking a moment to think, shifting in his bed, grunting when he moves a little bit wrong. “Do you really think the Prep and the Bad Boy went to school on Monday and hung out like everything was normal? Or that they ended up hooking up? Or even that the Jock and the Basket Case kept seeing each other? And she actually changed her looks for him.” Eddie scrunches his face in an over-dramatic grimace that Steve tries not to laugh at.
Steve shrugs. Because, well, here’s the thing. If you had asked Steve 3 years ago, when he was at his peak, when he was the Emilio Estevez of Hawkins High, when he was King Steve, if he’d be hanging out with anyone in the Party other than Nancy, he would have thought you were insane. He probably would have laughed in your face. But here he is, 2 weeks into a vigil at Eddie the Freak Munson’s bedside after saving his life from interdimensional monsters. Here he is 3 years into fighting said interdimensional monsters with the weirdest cast of misfits he’s proud to call his friends and happy to call his family. But there are no monsters in the Breakfast Club, so they're a special case, aren't they? Eddie just doesn’t see that, yet. Eddie has no reason to believe Steve, or anyone besides Dustin, Mike, and Lucas are going to bother to stick by his side once this is all said and done (if it’s ever said and done. Steve has a harder and harder time believing it ever will be).
“Look, this…” Steve trails off, trying to gather his thoughts and gesturing vaguely with his hands. “We’re not going to leave you alone to deal with all this, if that’s what you’re wondering. You’re stuck with us.”
The corner of Eddie’s lip quirks up just a smidge. “Good to know,” he murmurs. His eyelids look visibly heavy, and Steve thinks he’s seconds away from dozing off when Eddie perks up a bit to once again ask, “but what are we, Harrington?”
Steve sighs and thinks for a moment. He doesn’t really know how to say he would probably die for Eddie despite them barely knowing each other. It feels too all consuming, and even a little misplaced. It's not a lie, it's just too big of a truth. So he settles on what he does know. “We’re friends, Munson.”
Eddie smiles, a sly grin stretching across his face (and considering Steve’s seen Eddie nearly lifeless and spent several days not even knowing if the guy will wake up, seeing him smile makes something warm settle in Steve’s gut—something like happiness, something like relief, something like something else Steve doesn't know the name of).
“Friends? Really? The King of Hawkins High friends with little ol’ me?” His voice cracks a bit, maybe a mix of strain from disuse and sleepiness. Eddie seems to have relaxed further into the bed and his eyes look heavy again.
He could tell Eddie he’s not a king anymore, hasn’t been in years, but it doesn’t feel condescending coming from Eddie. It feels like a joke between old friends. “A good king spends time with his subjects, doesn’t he?”
Eddie snorts out a soft laugh. “Subject? Nah, I demand to be part of your royal court. Your Jester.”
Steve laughs softly, too. “Cool. Does that mean I get to kill you for not being funny?”
“Oh, ha ha, Harrington. Just you wait. I’ll make you laugh so hard. Besides. Can’t undo all this hard work, bringing me back, and all.”
Steve rolls his eyes. “Go to sleep, Munson.”
“Been sleepin’,” Eddie slurs, eyes closed. “You sleep.”
“I will,” Steve says, and Eddie hums in acknowledgement.
He probably won’t. Vecna’s body floating in the Creel attic, Max’s broken bones and white eyes, Eddie’s body nearly drained of blood… It’s all too fresh in his mind, still. But Eddie doesn’t need to know that.
Next thing he knows, Eddie’s out like a light, sleeping heavy and breathing deeply in the bed next to him. No, Steve probably won’t sleep, but he’ll stay at Eddie's bedside, watching shitty reruns until Wayne comes in with a cup of stale, hot coffee and they switch out their vigils. He’ll look out for his—his friend? Even now, it doesn’t feel right. It feels like a lie. Like trying to save the world with someone and bringing them back from the brink of death makes them more… But it works for now. Eddie’s his friend. And he’ll stay by his side come Monday and every Monday thereafter.

Worth a Thousand Words
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson x gn!reader
Masterlist
Summary: Eddie reflects on the pictures of you over the years
Word Count: ~2.7k
Warnings: Just fluff. I believe this can be read as gn reader (please let me know if I'm wrong), but just as a heads up, the reader is described as more feminine (being beautiful and wearing a dress, etc.)
A/N: First time writing from Eddie's pov (ish), and I loved it. I'm a sucker for head-over-heels men, so this was very heartwarming and fun to write. As always, reblogs and comments are wonderful — I love hearing your thoughts!! Thank you for reading <3
--
The first picture Eddie had of you was a school photo. Lame, he knew. But it made him smile hard enough even thinking about it: the Hellfire Club photo of the whole group.
In between him and Dustin stood you. Being friends with Nancy, you had plenty of contact with Mike over the years, meaning you had contact with his friends and their wild D&D conversations, eventually leaving you intrigued enough to join in on a session here and there when Nancy was drowning in newspaper work.
Eddie had never been so thankful for Mike in his life. Before anyone knew it, the flash went off, signing into memory your wide smile and bright eyes — one arm slung around Dustin’s neck but your body leaning toward Eddie’s. And he knew you’d done it because he leaned first, trying not to focus too much on the way your arm touched his but unable to keep himself from leaning anyway.
Other people always tried to demonize the group, throwing that photo in his face, but every time he saw it, his eyes only went to you wearing that shirt and grin. And there’s no way it could be bad if it made you look that heavenly.
The next photo he had of you was actually a series of pictures. Eddie, Nancy, Robin, and you all dressed up in your graduation gowns and caps, holding diplomas and each other. Steve even peeked in a couple as support, especially with how much he helped Robin through her math class (or tried to anyway) during their shifts together.
Some of them didn’t come out as well, squinted eyes in the late spring sun or uncontained giggles distracting someone else in each take. In one, your face scrunched up as you batted away Eddie’s hair flying into your mouth, eyes, and everything it could touch. Though a secret favorite of his was the one of you screaming as a bee came near, your body running into Steve’s to escape. It was all chaos and left Eddie laughing looking at it. You’d wanted him to get rid of it. He just hid it instead.
But his favorite of the bunch was all five of you. No one was really looking at the camera. Steve looked to be in the middle of fixing his hair and batting away Robin when she tried to help. Nancy stood in the middle, her eyes beginning to roll but a genuine smile still unable to leave her face. Eddie looked off to the side, always leaning into you, as he made some joke he couldn’t remember now. Not that it mattered, it was just to get you to laugh, like most of what he said. And you did.
But you… you shined as bright as the sun beaming down on them, toothy grin and all as you giggled at whatever stupid thing Eddie had said. You barely could keep your eyes from shutting as a hand came down to hold your laughing belly, but you kept them open, determined to. They looked at Eddie, not trying to miss a second of him on this day. That one he had hung up in his room, right by his bed.
The next picture was another group picture — he often chided himself for not getting more photos of you earlier, but he hadn’t grown the balls to do it for a while after meeting you. Still, he was grateful to somehow capture you in this memory forever.
Nancy had actually taken it. You’d convinced her to come to The Hideout to see Corroded Coffin play, insisting that she could do a story on them with The Hawkins Post, as the band had been gaining more popularity lately.
The bar was dark, the only real lights coming from the small stage. It illuminated the band, catching the wispy frizz of Eddie’s hair as he played his guitar, his baby. Maybe his eyes should have been on his fingers or paying attention to the other members of Corroded Coffin, but no. He looked to the crowd.
In the moment, he hadn’t noticed Nancy snapping the picture. He hadn’t noticed anyone but you. It wasn’t in the photo — just the back of your head and arms raised high in the air — but he’d be damned if he forgot the way you looked at him. Until then, he’d occasionally catch you staring at him while performing, loving the way you turned your head or hid the blush rising to your cheeks. But this time, you refused to look away, swaying with the music and having a permanent smile to give to him with hands outstretched.
And Nancy did write the story, using that picture for it. You had run over to his place, newspaper in hand, and excitedly showed it to him. You hadn’t seen that you were also in the photo, but he did. Of course he did. He kept the paper, especially after your insisting to cut it out and frame it for when he was famous. But he kept it for other reasons.
The first photo Eddie ever took of you was just you, no one else. It was the one he kept in his wallet. It’d been behind his driver’s license, still too scared to admit his feelings just yet, but there was no way he’d go somewhere without you by his side.
You had gone to Robin’s birthday party, one where she requested everyone dress up. As she’d explained it, all in her fast and excited tone, “We’re finally adults, with adult money! C’mon, for me?”
And there was no way any of you were resisting her pleas, not with those puppy dog eyes. Eddie offered to drive the two of you there, him coming by your apartment with a new car that barely worked better than his old van. It nearly felt like prom, if he had ever bothered to go. He waited in the lobby after buzzing your apartment, his palms sweaty and chest pounding like this was a date.
He’d pulled his hair back, cursing at the mirror when trying to tame it, and even tried dressing up. He still kept his dark jeans and jacket, but he’d found a wrinkled button-up deep in his closet to have on under. Wayne had just shaken his head when Eddie had called about how to smooth it out. Certain the boy didn’t have an iron, he just told him to hang it up in the bathroom while running a hot shower. A chuckle rolled from his mouth when Eddie hung up with a hurried thanks, and Wayne spent the night wondering who had got him worked up like this.
And Eddie looked as good as he was going to, because maybe this was a date. God, how he wanted it to be a date, and he probably would’ve been speechless to hear you wishing the same thing in your own head as you made your way down.
You’d paid extra attention when getting ready, knowing Eddie was at the bottom of those stairs. The red dress Nancy had convinced you to buy for a special night now hung off your shoulders. You also knew he wasn’t the type to judge like that, but your nervous pacing had turned to nervously fixing your appearance this way and that, straightening out your dress until you were sure you’d be making it worse if you touched it any more.
Eddie hated himself when you breathed out a kind, “Hi” as you walked through the lobby door. He just stared and stared, willing his mouth to say something, but nothing seemed quite worthy enough for you to hear. And that sounded corny in his head too, but the way your face looked so soft did nothing to prove him wrong.
Maybe it had been a date. You’d stuck to his side most of the night, unable to stop looking at the way a few strands of hair had come out and curled around his face or how his arms looked when he shrugged off his jacket in the hot living room. Even finding him when dancing with Robin and Nancy or laughing at Steve’s terrible moves.
Eddie should’ve taken a picture of you out there, but his mind was too focused on finding the right balance between staring at you and looking away so it wasn’t obvious. By the number of times the two of you made eye contact, he knew he’d been way off, but he couldn’t stop watching you.
Before, in your apartment lobby, he’d seen your tense shoulders, your hands clasped tight around each other (praying it was because you were just as nervous as he was), but now, you looked so carefree. Your body moved to the music, and if he weren’t so scared, he would’ve joined you, his fingers itching to wrap around your hips. Even Steve came by at some point to tell him he should get his butt over there, but he couldn’t.
It was when you came back, taking deep breaths and a large gulp of cold water, that he thought to take a picture. You had returned to him. After looking as happy as you had, you still came back to him. He picked up one of the couple disposable cameras Robin had set out for guests. As soon as you saw what he was doing, you hurried to fix anything gone askew while dancing, though he wanted to tell you that you looked beautiful regardless.
And you did. Though the photo could never do you justice, it captured the curve of your shoulders and the skin dipping beneath the dress that fit just right, though he thought the same of anything you wore. Your face glowed, like you were meant to be here, with him. And he hadn’t noticed it immediately, not until months later after he’d made Robin give him a copy after she developed the photos, but he could swear that your eyes weren’t at the camera, but just above. Maybe it just showed your mind was elsewhere altogether. But you knew you weren’t looking at the camera, but at Eddie. Always.
After that, you left.
Only after having one picture he’d taken of you, you were gone, and he didn’t take any more for a few years. You’d gone off to college out of state while Eddie stayed back in Indiana. The two of you talked on the phone here and there and saw each other during breaks, but he found himself staring at the few photos he had of you more and more often.
You sent a couple pictures through the mail to him, but he couldn’t look at those for long. Most showed you with multiple people, looking as happy as you had back here at home, and he couldn’t help the twisting feeling settle into his stomach. He had no right to be jealous of any of them, but he was. They had no idea how lucky they were to have you there every day. And Eddie should’ve realized that sooner.
Each time Eddie had a new photo of you, he declared it was his favorite. There was no way there’d be another he’d stare at for as long or make him miss you as much when you weren’t together. Yet, he was happy to be proven wrong each time.
After coming to accept how he felt, Eddie needed to fix this, deciding he had to do something the next time he saw you or bury the feelings forever. That summer, with a slightly new look but the same old smile, you came back to him.
And Eddie had done it. He’d finally done it and asked you out. Eddie steeled himself for a laugh or disgust rather than the kindest look he’d ever seen when the question left his lips. And he declared a hundred new photos to be his new favorite, but there was always one.
He wanted to do every dorky thing couples did, every cheesy activity that would’ve made him roll his eyes before he met you. So when a nearby carnival had come to town, he took you there the first weekend you had free. And when a worker came up to you both with a polaroid camera, Eddie pulled you close, ready to pay whatever they asked for the photo.
Though the camera wouldn’t be able to show it, his heart swelled at feeling your body against his, the warmth of your palm resting on his chest. You squealed when seeing the picture, the sound enough for him to let you keep it. But you’d seen his face, a sad sort of happy, and pulled the worker back to take another just like the first. You reached into your wallet before Eddie could grab his and handed it to the worker, giving Eddie his own photo to keep.
There were slight differences between the two, but they looked similar — flashing lights and crowds moving behind a couple too enveloped in each other to care or notice. You loved the way his hand sat at your waist, the way his eyes lit up, his chin held high at having at his side.
Busy staring down at the images, you hadn’t seen that Eddie wasn’t doing the same, not until you glanced up to find him already looking. Those lights passed across his dark eyes, leaving you entranced, or maybe it was just who he was. Before you could say something teasing, his lips pressed to yours, soft and like amnesia, making you forget about anything else besides him. Though the photos hadn’t captured it, Eddie still thought of the feeling of your mouth on his whenever he looked at it, wishing he could live in that moment forever.
But making new memories worked as a second option. After that, you had bought your own camera and filled the edges of your bathroom mirror with pictures of the two of you. Other summers, you might have spent the months at your parents’ house, but you loved spending nights at Eddie’s and waking up in his arms. When fall came around, you used to find it exciting before to return to your college life, but this year was harder, more painful.
The two of you existed between late-night calls and letters — and photos Eddie could stand now that you were his, and he was yours — and that was enough for him to make it through.
As with cheesy romantic gestures, Eddie hadn’t really believed in marriage either. “Why get the blood-sucking government involved in my love life?” he’d ask. But the way you spoke about your future with him and the way you looked at flowing wedding dresses in bridal shop windows, Eddie could feel himself finding you were once again the exception.
Up until the day, his favorite photo of you, besides the bee one, was any of them that showed the cheap ring he didn’t feel good enough to even propose to you with — though, he couldn’t afford better and found himself getting antsy at the idea of waiting years and years until he could get to start his future with you.
But of course, you wore it proudly in every photo since his proposal. And Eddie couldn’t help a rising emotion in his chest every time he looked at one of those pictures, knowing you were proud to tell the world you were together.
And then, there you were. Right there with him.
Eddie’s eyes gave slow blinks in the morning sunlight, the world still far away in his half-asleep state. Yet, he was aware of you. Always was.
You laid on his chest, curled into his side still fast asleep. Your head rose and fell softly along with his dipping breaths, and his eyes found your form with a softness in his heart.
He brought his arm down to wrap along your back, letting the early air wash over him. Over you, together, in your shared apartment. Looking around the room, he spotted in the cracked closet his shoebox of photos.
Besides the pictures framed and hung up, he hadn’t looked at any of his favorites in months. Eddie still loved the memories, the easy moments captured in time, but he didn’t have to live through them anymore — didn’t have to wish he was in those moments or feel that terrible ache of you being gone. He glanced down as you stirred against him, catching your eyes as they fluttered open, making him smile. He had the real thing right here, and he couldn’t wait to make new memories with you.
