i take ISSUE with the chicken reference in bttf2. they treat it as this important moral centre that marty has, but in the first movie it’s NEVER established that he has some sort of grave hatred of being called chicken, but they try to make it SEEM like a well-established fact. only part of the films I actively dislike. why’d they add that huh. why. so strange.

ive thought abt that before too and i think the main thing is that the second two films were made five years after the first lmao BUT i will say i dont think its contradictory to his character as established in the first film? moments his pride is called into question (like with strickland and such) he really pushes back against which is somewhat along the same lines? the exact scenario of being made out to be a coward never really comes up though 🤔 all to say no i definitely dont think any of that plotline was in mind when the first film was made, but i dont think that its necessarily bad? since it doesnt really strike me as out of character the REAL discrepancy is why marty's hair is so much longer in the second two films despite taking place immediately after the first (this is a joke) (kind of)
