What actually is fallen london? Is it a live service game of some kind? It sounds like you discuss frequent updates to it, but I haven't been able to pick up on what the gameplay actually is.

it's a text-based browser game! it's kind of live service in that it gets pretty frequent updates with new content and features, but with the exception of a few exclusive stories and rewards it's entirely free and everything outside of a handful of storylines can also be played entirely solo if needs be. if you've ever played some of those old text adventure games with little-to-no graphics and a choice-based narrative, it's pretty loosely like that. think zork, but a lot less free-form and a lot more queer.

it's pretty grindy at a lot of times and certainly isn't for everyone, but i picked it up back in september and (as you can probably tell) i've been having a ton of fun with it. there's a lot of in-depth lore and worldbuilding and the way it's designed makes it really easy to pick-up-and-play as a "15 mins per day" sort of game, or a "check back every few hours and work to accomplish x thing for a few minutes and then repeat" sort of game if you're insane like i am. you're not meant to speedrun it, is what i'm saying. it's about ✨ the journey ✨ moreso than the destination (though the destination can be cool too)

also, it's just generally pretty funny. lots of classical british witticisms with a healthy dose of horror thrown in for spice. and, as i said, it's very very queer.

i highly recommend you go check it out! they revamped the new-player experience recently, and there's a new major chunk of story coming out in april for mid-to-late game people like myself to dive into (that's the "who gave my scoundrel a license to fly" i was talking about earlier). there's never been a better time, so-to-speak, so come on down to the neath! it's fun and free and there are absolutely no horrors or possibly impending doom within the next 50ish years to speak of everything is just fine and dandy and normal down here yup

Talking about the sims, I had quite the travel with the shirt and boots in... in blender xD I know I said i wouldnt touch the damn program (I am a Maya fanboy (?)) but this shirt was the only one that checked all the boxes, just that it had a pocket and the pocket was a different UV island obviously so I had to re uv a little xd I tried adding more buttons but it didnt go well lol I suppose it is bcs i have to paint weight or add the buttons to the rig but i dont know shit about rigging lol The boots was just scaling them up a little cause they were clipping badly with all jeans I tried unu didnt want the jeans to go over bcs... thats not how Sama wears his boots xd does he have tats? I dont know, but I didnt add any either lol

Pre-movie thoughts (written 10/25):

I get to see it a day early! YAY!

I might have hyped this movie up in my brain a little too much, because I'm SUPER anxious.

The polarizing reviews i was seeing throughout the day were definitely a little nerve wracking! Lots of good and bad reviews, lots of weird contridicting statements. I saw lots of people complaining about the lore being "wrong" or whatever but... Eh. It has already been established that this movie won't have the same lore as the games, so I won't mind any lore changes. They're like the Silver Eyes books, in their own seperate canon but with similarities to the games.

Overall Im keeping my hopes reasonably high. Horror films and video game adaptations tend to get a bad wrap from even the fairest critics. I'm a die-heard fnaf fan, have been for all 9 years of its existence. If Dawko loves it then I will love it I think 🫡

Post-movie thoughts (written 10/26):

The way they incorporated Mike's dream sequences into the narrative was really interesting, how he tries to use his dreams to find out who took his brother. He and Abby were really sweet :) I like how their relationship drives the plot along, with how they befriend Abby but only as a front because they want her to "be like them," and how Mike is caught up in the past and realizes that he needs to focus on protecting Abby, not bringing his brother back. Its surprisingly emotional, i really resonated with their story. Josh Hutcherson and Piper Rubio both did well!

It's basically everything I expected, and I liked it! I think it's story was good, with its focus on childhood innocence.

Vanessa is great too! Different from her game counterpart, but thats okay! And the twist that she's actually William aftons daughter? Holy shit I gasped like I was watching a soap. Thats so interesting!! I loved how she just FELT suspicious. I know it's very different from the game lore, but I expected the movie to be, and I liked what they did! I got chills when Vanessa showed the picture of her and William to Mike and you could see her holding the plane that Mike's brother used to have.... my dad thought that was the creepiest part. Speaking of william btw...

Matthew Lillard, man. wow. What a great William Afton. They do some subtle implications that hes William in the beginning and if i didnt know it was him already i would've been surprised. He hams it up like he did with Stu Macher and it's great! I wish he was in it a little more, and they expanded a little more on Williams character through Vanessa, but yeah, he was good! I hope to see more of him in any sequels!

I wish the animatronics showed up a little more, thats probably my biggest critique or whatever. But they are so well made and cute. I liked how they befriended Abby, and that they rlly honed in on the animatronics being possessed by kids and that their violence is from William Aftons influence. I wish they went more into depth about how William influenced them though, and why it's all the pictures drawn of what happened that control their vision of what happened. What we did get from them though was so cool! Jim Henson did so well with these guys, they're so cute yet can be so scary.

The kills were pretty tame on the surface, as I expected, but some of the implications were quite disturbing to a point where it didn't rlly take away from it for me. Especially Max's, it gave me a "Ada in the laser room in the re4 seperate ways remake" vibes. Same with the security guards death to the faz-trap in the beginning.

There were some pacing issues, theyve definitely cut some things i wouldve liked to see, there was some goofiness (that fort making scene made me laugh so hard im sorry, it was cute though), and some story elements that needed a touch more expanding upon, but this movie was still really fun! For non-fans, honestly i dont know how they'reresponding as a whole besides those really weird reviews im seeing on rotten tomatoes and such, but I saw it with my dad, who knew very little going into it, and he liked it, especially the story with the missing kids! For fans... well, If you like fnaf, are are willing to forgive some lore changes for the sake of telling a coherent story, then you'll love it!

He usually perks up over academics and not this kind of thing. But it's bennett, the character he admires the most.

Unfortunately he couldnt get it due to low currency. He had never feel so sad in his life.

Carefully reads every stories and listens to their lines attentively. He finds it amazing how the company spent their everything on this game. It amazes him. From the stories, lores and lines, he truly appreciates it.

Balance his team pretty well. He mains bennett so he doesnt need that much of a healer in his team.

Enjoys bennett's hangout very much!! He tried to not get him killed by the dungeon's trap but ended up having to sacrifice him which ultimately ends the route. He had never felt so down and guilty before.

Not much of a damage dealer. He prefers to play it in normal mode and doesnt care that much about one shotting monster.

He feeds his character three meals a day!! If only there's a sleep option, he would be sending bennett to sleep first before the rest.

Everyone loves his teapot

Shinobu : found the game while she's scrolling through the app store out of boredom. Initially she played it on her phone but due to the fps and a really bad ping, so bad that douma wouldnt find her interesting anymore, she finally downloaded the game on her pc where things has starting to get real

Tengen : played since 1.0 this madlad has been staying loyal to the game ever since. Quite huge amount of money he spend on this game to be honest but he never gets broke by it. You can see his regular donation to the game by purchasing welkin and battle pass and some genesis crystal too. He's loaded with money, he didnt know what to do with it.

Uzui also plays honkai impact and guns girl Z so when he saw the unknown god at the intro , he was not surprised.

(Also, now I'm imagining. like. a dghda!dragon au where Todd is the dragon and Dirk's a holistic hero: he wanders the land getting dragged into epic quests against his will, usually causing havoc and being shot with arrows in the process, and is delighted when his adventures throw him together with a dragon best friend.)

okay so this au is a fantasy au where there are dragons. naturally occurring dragons, much like any other creature, but they were a magical creature. normal animals are normal, but magical creatures are like animals that magic Chose To Be Special. most dragons are regular dragons. they were creatures made with obsession in mind, the same way unicorns were made with purity. Tricksters were made with mischief. dragons had an object of their affection and they hoarded that object, or a symbol of it.

but some dragons were given a specific purpose. because it seems that reality was breaking, and these dragons had to fix it. regular dragons kinda did this (there was too much wealth being accrued by one person, so they stole it), but these dragons were….specialized. they each have Special Powers. they may or may not hoard. and all of them can turn human. they were born human actually, but chosen by the universe and its magic to be a Dragon 

like, in this world, magic exists and is maybe kinda sentient. magic is inherently ambivalent, but because of human greed and other bad shit, that magic started turning sour and infecting the world. the Special Chosen Dragons were supposed to help fix it. because magic is semi-sentient, whats currently happening is hurting it. The Universe and Magic are connected. Llke the Universe is the character, and Magic is one of its languages or one of its limbs. sometimes, if magic got used for evil so much, the magic would become corrupted in itself. 

these Special Chosen dragons were called the Blackwing Dragons. they popped up roughly 50 years before the current story takes place. Everybody knows about the Blackwing Dragons (who were called as such thanks to the wizard who discovered their existence. they saw it in a magical Black Book and thought, huh, dragons….wings…..b….blackwing) and theyre a pretty popular and well known legend.

many dark magic users didnt like the idea of dragons taking away their powers, so hunters were employed to capture the dragons, learn how they work, and use the dragon’s powers for their own good. Queen Wilson is one sorceress who employs Riggins and Priest as dragon bountyhunters. Wilson is able to catch an insane amount of dragons and magically experiment on them for a few years before something at the castle goes wrong and all the dragons escape. but thanks to this experience, all the Blackwing Dragons had gone into hiding.

anyway, a normal citizen of the world would know that general legend. The Blackwing Dragons were sent to help, but humans hurt them, they went into hiding, and now nobody knows where they are or what theyre doing.

THATS THE LORE……the actual story i had is like. todd is very very normal blacksmith who makes boring shit like horseshoes and then one day dirk breaks into his house through his window and says that todd is now apart of his quest to save the universe and that he needs a very special sword made!! no, todd, you have to be the one to make it specifically!! i dont care if youve never made a sword before, it has to be you!! also i live here now!!! :D :D :D

so theres much shenanigans involving todd dealing with weirdo dirk gently who introduces himself as a wandering detective of sorts. dirk is friends with farah, who is a knight that is very cool and very competent and very paranoid and very protective of dirk. dirk and farah are weirdly cagey about Things for some reasons and todd is quite suspicious of them until he realizes WHY theyre weird, and it’s because theyre hiding the fact that dirk is a Blackwing Dragon.

which todd finds out eventually when theyre like, attacked by bandits and dirk magically shifts into a RATHER LARGE-ISH DRAGON to fight off the attackers. here is an excerpt of that exact moment

“Holy shit, you’re one of them. You’re a dragon. You’re a Blackwing Dragon.”

“Am not!” Dirk says, wings flattening against his body. Wings. “I’m just a…holistic…were-reptile—of the magical semi-human persuasion?”

Todd figures that Dirk would really make a more compelling point if he sounded surer of himself and also if Todd just minutes ago didn’t witness Dirk turn into the huge dragon that was currently towering over him, wings, scales, and horrifyingly sharp teeth displayed in full glory. Full dragon glory. Because Dirk is a dragon. Dirk is one of the dragons in the legend Todd has heard all his life. 

Well, fuck.

i got quite far into plotting this, but it’s still quite messy. the sword todd is supposed to make is very important for very convoluted magic reasons. lydia is in fic too as a mage practicing soul swapping. amanda is a seer who suffers from very painful visions. riggins and priest and friedkin are all badguys trying to locate and imprison the blackwing dragons. bart kills people very well whether she is a dragon or a human. dirk, todd, and farah embark on a quest to literally save all the magic in the universe. 

before i could work out all the details, i found the other fic where dirk is a dragon and dropped this concept like a hot potato :(((

okay so that was a doozy but god i am also INTENSELY ENRAPTURED by the concept of TODD BEING THE DRAGON!!!!! 

i can VERY easily imagine todd being an incredibly grumpy dragon, holing himself up in a cave because he is a Monster, he must not be Seen By The People Because He Is Terrible And Dangerous And Hurts People. and then in comes waltzing dirk all smiles and he just pops his head into the cave like “Hiiiii~”

i am going to be thinking about dragon!todd for the rest of the night now. todd who is a dragon because of, god i dunno, curse reasons? magic outwardly manifesting his self loathing reasons? my point is that todd thinks he is the worst, and dirk thinks he is the coolest. dirk would spend a lot of time trying to prove to todd he is, in fact, a good person/dragon while todd just stomps his dragon feet and huffs with just the slightest touch of fire in his breath and grumbles but also secretly hopes that dirk sticks around.

WAIT YOUR PARENTS ARE CHEFS THATS SO DAMN COOL !!!! i love to cook i actually considered going to culinary school instead of actual university for a while but never followed through with it. i work in bakeries or restaurants in the summers and cook at home to satisfy the cooking itch. my hands and arms have quite a few burn scars from when i first started (5 years ago now i think) but now my fingertips are straight up fireproof bc of repetitive exposure. some dorms in my university have communal kitchens so that’s where i got the idea- i’ve walked in there to make instant mac and cheese at 1am and there was a girl making a Full Batch Of Cookies in that kitchen and i was like “honey WHAT.” i think the decelis kitchen could be such a Concept bc imagine the shit that could go on in there. you’re a normal student just trying to microwave something in the kitchen and you see a group of seven dudes and a girl summoning demons on the floor. great times

i wish that you make close kpop irl friends to have lore conferences someday !! the vibes are truly immaculate it’s so much FUN to actually talk it out with someone (though ofc i value our lore conversations very much). also yves. yes. am in love just a little.

YEAHHHH THEY ARE!!! its ironically actually the reason i dont know how to cook that well yet MYSELF because theyve always done it so i just. havent had to. but i want to change that and i am working towards it!! i will learn how to make more than sandwiches and scrambled eggs!! i love what i HAVE learned of cooking and i love food and i want to be able to make food for people in the future so i am definitely determined to do that. NO THE JEELINGS now im thinking about it too . because logically probably if he has heat immunity his skin ALSO has heat immunity,, but just imagine if it DIDNT. he just has no awareness of heat levels whatsoever but his skin still VERY MUCH DOES so his hands and arms are just covered in burn scars from all the times he's pulled cookie pans out of the oven with his bare hands or lifted a burning piece of wood to save a kitten or some shit (because that is absolutely something he would do), not to mention the burns from his OWN fire. god i really just love the idea of superpowered people having physical scars/evidence of their powers on their bodies somewhere, so in an au where jino's skin isn't entirely impervious to fire, maybe his hands are just permanently scarred and its a whole stream of gossip with the decelis students—what happened to his hands? how did he get all those scars? maybe he wears gloves, maybe he's not ashamed and just doesnt give a shit. i like the idea of the students concocting this whole dramatic backstory in their heads where he permanently disfigured his hands saving his brothers from a fire or something, but no in reality its just from all the times he's touched hot things and forgot they were supposed to be hot.

community kitchens as a concept just have so much comedic potential to me. community ANYTHING really especially in a college/university/school setting-- there's just so many possible scenarios involving peoples' lives clashing in unexpected ways. and OMG YES a random decelis student who got hungry at 2 in the morning after studying and just wanted some instant noodles walking in on the school's resident popular guy group and the weird new girl making a full-on demon-summoning circle on the floor with ketchup ksfgjdgdj help thats such a funny image to me--

and it also gave me another fun dark moon thought which is just. we as the audience know that the seven vamps arent biological brothers, they were raised together in the orphanage and just decided to make each other family, but a lot of decelis students probably dont know that. and im fully aware that this would make no sense in canon but im just imagining a conversation that goes like—

as i was looking through your lair, wright was the first dragon that made me stop and go “OOOOH”. the color scheme you have going on here, with brown + grey + white/cream-ish + blue accents is gorgeously eye-catching, ESPECIALLY with the bluish tint at the tips of the auburn striation. the outfit, especially the dusty sage shawl and the candles, bring a lovely unity to the overall colors of the dragon and the outfit. my eyes still keep drawing to the blue accents. they’re so lovely next to these shades of brown, a really beautiful marrying of warm and cool. A+ dragon.

saanjh here is DEFINITELY an eyecatching boy. an absolutely GORGEOUS skincent, topped with a well-coordinated outfit. with skins/accents like these, sometimes an outfit with fewer apparel pieces is what the skincent needs to shine, and i definitely think this is one of those cases. the apparel pieces aren’t so numerous that they cover up the skincent, but there’s also just enough of them to add extra flair to the already gorgeous look. i ESPECIALLY love how the ivory smoke tert showing through matches the highlights on the skincent itself. that is some top-notch color coordination 👌

i may be a shadow kid, but i LOVE some well-done light aesthetic, and cairn’s definitely some good good light aesthetic. brown, yellow, plus a dash of sparkly navy blue is a color combo i had no idea could work--but with the accent, the silks, the umbral wreath and the book, it’s perfect. and of course, the light halo and the sundrapes bring it all back to that shiny shiny Light Aesthetic™. it’s kind of like a moon/sun night/day dichotomy going on with this dragon, like you have the sun and all the stars shining out from this dragon all at once.

the moment i got to dryad in your lair, i felt like i was wrapped in a fuzzy sweater looking at aspens in autumn and sipping a warm drink as I crunched leaves under my feet. these GORGEOUS fall colors are unbelievable, tbh. and i’d probably still say that even without the accent (but the accent is still a GOOD addition to that atmosphere). the accents of red in the outfit especially bring together that feeling of looking at color changing trees in autumn, but it’s such a warm homey feeling rather than a chilly sense of loss. the other thing it brings to mind is sitting in front of a fire after a cold day. i trust this dragon 10/10

this boy is exactly a good example of when “a lot going on” works out WELL! there’s a beautiful unity of color going on here with the browns, yellows, oranges, and creams all swirling around the center. the jester’s cape is an ESPECIALLY good choice with the little bells flying off of it,the accent is a bit more understated than some of the others i’ve seen so far, i’ve noticed, but it gives a good edge to the dragon, especially since you described him as a reader of bones in the bio. i like how the greyish tones on the cat actually match the bones in the accent?? such a tiny little color match that’s still so effective. also, the art in his bio is amazing too. overall excellent dragon. I love him.

now this is one mysterious boi. im always a really big sucker for this particular kind of blue/periwinkle hue, and i love dragons where they’re technically XYZ but two different colors still match comfortably, and this is definitely a good example of that. this dragon gives me the impression of being inside a cave filled with huge crystals, dark and silent and huge... i have no idea what lore you have planned for this dragon but the outfit you have on him plus the atmosphere of his colors just makes me feel like he’s strange and mysterious and possibly dangerous...that’s just my shot in the dark tho

red+white+black/dark grey is definitely a tried and true color combination, and this dragon is a beautiful example of that. i always thought the viper’s armor set had such an interesting and useful combo of colors, and i’ve seen it used to great effect, and you match it well with other red apparel here. and of course, it goes quite well with the sanguine scales. the little tiny dashes of green and yellow add a nice amount of variety to a small color scheme.

let me just start out with THE EYES AND THE LANTERNS GODDAMN! the way those two things match create a real visual punch on the overall color scheme of the dragon. they pop SO intensely that the very first thing your eyes move to is the dragon’s head and lanterns--and since the lanterns are in a triangle-ish shape it’s a very pleasing composition. then the accent leads your eyes away from his head and then spirals all the way around the rest of his body. such a pleasing dragon to look at. the cerise stained on top of the double phthalo is just unbelievably gorgeous as well: it’s just such a unique combo and it’s beautiful. A+++ usage of stained.

ohhh i could cry over this girl. i love f guardians so much and isra is just... heartbreakingly beautiful. purple and brown is a bit unorthodox but she WORKS IT... like flowers blooming out of turned earth, with a lovely dash of blue hues to really give that feeling of flowers an extra boost. i ESPECIALLY love how the lightning halo really brings out the light blue/cyan accent in the mulberry opal. the unity of colors is top notch. also, the lore in her bio? pure fucking poetry, my friend.

this dragon.... is a forest. and i love her. the forest green wraps match her secondary BEAUTIFULLY! and the light grey accents and the slight cream tint of the gem thief piece match well, like sunlight shining through canopy. the umber ripple is just rich, and the patterning on the ripple looks exactly like tree bark. i feel like if i touched her hide, her scales would feel like bark. the nature eyes are also a BIG plus, especially since that particular eye type really matches with the green in the flair scarf. beautiful girl.

last dragon will be this girl, because HOOOOOOO 👌 👌 👌  I am always a sucker for a good blue dragon and/or outfit, so my eyes were immediately drawn to the cloak, and then i saw the rest of her and i was smitten. blue on black+grey is a lovely combination, especially with purple accents. it’s like looking at the sky as it changes from dusk to night. especially with the sparkly look that comes from the cloak, the guise, AND the accent. this dragon is a beaitufl sparkly space dragon and i love her.

overall: your accent collection is impressive!! i found myself going “oh thats a fucking gorgeous accent” a LOT even if i didnt pick the dragon wearing said accent to review. you have VERY good taste when it comes to skins and accents. also, you’re good at putting together outfits in ways that don’t require a lot of apparel pieces? it makes it so you can appreciate the dragon’s genes and/or accent a lot easier. overall? good lair, good dragons! thanks again for being my first customer!!

They are all the best quality you can get so don't judge a book by it's cover Yes certain weapons can dismember more than others but dont you want to keep that dog elope innside the monster? Is this a trick question? you can make it explode in a shower of super hot bolts which will light your enemies innards on fire If used proficently But its never enough to discourage using a weapon being flashy never got the job done Certain weapons will accel on certain tasks better than others Sometime having a huge honking weapon just makes you a bigger target for the monsters But in the end try every weapon out and see which one fits you the best best or go for the endless and flashy option Go what suits your deliery style These wrist gadgets can let out a massive sound wave which can slow down enemies Use a boomstick because you have fun using it and it's mother isnt here to knock some sense into you But be advised they both tend to over heat with repeated use Not cause its supposed to do the most damage but the after effect is just as amusing Make land whales breathe Air underwater? that would cause severe embarrassment You dont want to do too much damage because you want them to still be viable for capturing bonuses at the end of the level Something like 75 to 125 points is perfect Or there wont be anything left to capture alive Does it really matter!
