I have scoliosis (10-15° curvature of the spine) and because of that I can fit my entire left arm behind my head. Last November, I did this at a doctor's appointment for my peanut allergy - I'm part of a study for long term immunization via increasing exposure over time (every day I eat roughly one peanut's worth of peanut protein powder. I have worked to this point from .5mg to 300mg over the course of two years) - after taking a breath test to ensure I don't have asthmatic reaction to the powder. Soon after I felt a slight pain on my lower back, and tried to stretch it out. As I stretched, the pain moved up my body, over my shoulder, and down my chest, at which point I felt an excruciating burst of unbearable physical agony. What had happened was a spontaneous pneumothorax- my lung popped like an overstretched balloon and all that air went flooding into my chest cavity. I was writhing on the examination bed as the nurse practitioner (who recently passed, rest in peace, Judy.) called an ambulance. My blood oxygen went down a little problematically so I got wheeled into the hospital looking fresh out of a fatal car accident - covered in wires for readings and oxygen tubing and blood pressure machinery. Within that day they were operating on me, having inserted a chest tube into my side while I was still conscious (didn't feel a thing, was apparently cracking jokes like the smartass I am). 3 days, 2 spider-verse viewings, 4 dark web spelunks, 9 mediocre meals, 1 hockey team, and 3 bonding moments with relatives later, I went home, playing Beth Malone's TEDx talk on the aux port in my mom's car as we laughed about how shitty my spine is.
