Aahh sorry I took a while to respond! I actually went through my Pinterest board of figurines to be able to answer this properly (I don't keep up with figurines or their names or anything I just save photos if I think they're pretty lol)

So for other vocaloids, I love all Gumi nendoroids, and the Kagamine Rin And Len Tony Ver. figurines (I think the Kagamine ones should pop up if you google them like that, I made sure to get the names that would turn up the figurines in search results)

And then for Miku I have two (well, maybe three. I kind of want to include Ribbon Girl Module figurine since I'm so obsessed with her but I'm not sure), but one of them I don't know the name of :( I'll post the photo at the end of the post in case anyone can identify her because I think she's literally the cutest but reverse image search didn't give me any results

Thinking about the COD urban fantasy AU that I will be writing a fic for. I have a background in fine art and comics and have experience with video editing, so because of this, this fic came to me as a movie trailer, which I plan on making an animatic of. Issues I know I will have:

Time - my chaotic brain always has a billion projects going at once, which is why I wanted to at least put this much out. I have at least four other fics that need attention, not to mention actual real life, and running a small business. I will be doing it though. It may not be good, but it will be done, eventually.

Finding the right music. Currently I'm looking for good epic trailer music. I have zero money to commission someone to compose something custom, otherwise I would ask my friend if he'd take the job.

Voices (because I want them 😩)

The decedent. I had planned on writing the fic as a "x you" POV, but if I'm including a visual trailer, done in the way that I want, obviously I have to pick one way the decedent looks, which I know will leave many people feeling left out. This is why I tend to make OCs, as it's easier for me to make decisions that my OCD and trauma brain won't let me make otherwise, because "this person is their own person and this is how I've developed them." (Also I'm new to fanfic, pls forgive me. I know OC x Canon is the less-liked option here. I really struggle with trying to make everyone happy, to the point that it's debilitating and I honestly don't know what to do.)

And finally, ✨mental health✨.

alright. i have emotionally recovered from miles posting on instagram this morning, which truly threw off my plan to do a little concert recap bc i was busy yelling at my phone/on tumblr. as you do.

a couple notes:

i don't really do concert photos; literally took a grand total of 4 during the actual show. so sorry, don't have much there!

i did not get a poster :( turns out they ran out before AM even went on stage?? i'm sad, but not too pressed bc really i'd much rather have a good view than wait in the merch line.

here we go!!

so getting into the arena was kind of a shit show lmao. we rolled up around door open and the line stretched 5 city blocks and doubled back on itself; it was mostly organized but asshats loved to pop in when the line got broken up by the streets. took us almost an hour to make it our five blocks and the line behind us was still just as long by then. at least folks waiting by us in line were nice! beyond nice conversation the true highlight was outfit spotting. shoutout to the absolutely dedicated guy who showed up in the full on fwn clown outfit complete with face paint by himself. in this weather! found a couple folks dressed exactly like the car alex (again, why are you wearing a blazer in this weather) and you know. felt real old about it seeing some of the other concert outfits. i'm sorry, not to be judgemental of the tiktok girlies, but holy shit. i managed to out myself once as a weird fan about it bc i had "inside knowledge" aka i saw the ig stories james and davey posted lmao. i'm so sorry i'm incapable of holding it in when i want to correct someone. had a grand time talking to some people in line next to me around my age; one of them even had an old sias shirt from seeing them live back then! good bonding about "hey what have you done since they announced this album?" one guy switched jobs twice, we got married, and the other couple had a baby. jfc.

further highlights include the person who wrote the batphone and cheeseburger notes, a couple other car truck bits i didn't take pics of saying things like "who the fuck are the arctic monkeys", and the true comedy of whoever designed the tickets. big mike wazowski energy

fontaines dc sounded great! a lot of folks around me had no clue who they were, though. so the crowd wasn't too excited overall. also i have no idea who put together the playlist in between sets bc it was nuts.

and then: the big reveal (that i then updated tumblr on)

i'm really surprised the whole set made it! the anticipation before they took the curtain down was absolutely palpable. also, didn't get a picture of it but at one point someone had a giant pole and was trying to poke something right at at the top of the frame of the screen. no idea what that was about but it was hilarious. not pictured: the bonus screens on either side of the stage.

an aside: my partner is fucking hilarious. every time a roadie came on state with an instrument he'd go "i don't think that one is a monkey." he also generally calls them the "monkfys" anyway bc he really latched onto that clip aksdjfs

so this was interesting! they didn't show the body paint symbols at all on any of the screens; instead, they showed this colorful wheel thing.

and then the actual show. oh my word. opening with sculptures was absolutely my dream and honestly i don't have words for what it's like to see alex in person. he's absolutely captivating. hypnotizing. one of the most amazing things is watching how he proceeds through the show--how he goes from suave and put together with his choreographed arm movements for emphasis and his little things like the little bubble pop in that song. and then he starts to loosen up (along with his hair), we get the silly dramatic theatre kid during cornerstone and do me a favour, and by the time we hit body paint he's just completely letting loose. even when they played much of the usual setlist and i obviously know the music super well--better than anyone else around me--it was still absolutely thrilling to just be there and listen to the music and sing loudly and jump around until we felt the floorboards creak. they felt really high energy last night! turns out coming off of a break is good for them!

related, getting to watch the transformation into the poofy lion hair in real life is incredible.

i must admit, i am not immune to things like alex waving in our general direction to the crowd and walking over to our side of the stage and all of the charming bits. just can't help it.

otherwise, the only other person i could consistently see was nick - we were standing stage right, maybe 15 yards back? so you know. gorgeous as always. i'm sure jamie was wonderful also in his insane leather jacket -- didn't see him at all lol. i managed to get a very convenient window to center stage so i actually saw alex a decent amount. worked out well because i couldn't actually see the screens super well. i'm short. here's the only two pictures i actually took of the band, right at the beginning:

and now for the rest of the setlist -- we all know they played a lot of the usual suspects. as expected, much of the crowd was pretty young and very invested in only AM and the hype songs. i didn't mind; at least i wasn't the only person screaming for perfect sense (weren't a lot of us, i was the only one in my general area, but that's alright. i don't care.) my spouse was entertained by the person next to us who looked up the spotify set playlist in between every song; he was like "why look it up? if you don't know the songs well enough to identify by intro then how is the list supposed to help?" anyway, holy shit when is snap getting out of the playlist? and yet even though i was not thrilled by it it was still so fun to sing along.

4 out of 5 had a really funny bit at the end while he was just kinda ad libbing lines. "four stars out of five, not quite there yet, but almosttttt." teddy picker and view from the afternoon were absolutely fantastic, too. and then we get the basic AM bits again, though turns out the crowd was also really hype for fluorescent adolescent. 10/10

i was so goddamn loud for perfect sense. shoutout to the spouse again for only knowing that song bc i learned to play it and then played it constantly bc i wanted to manifest it aksjdflaskdj

he was constantly saying "very nice. very nice. very good" in between songs, which was adorable. "hope you're having a lovely evening, folks." as my partner put it: "very good. that's him like yes, i've met my crowd interaction quota for the night"

and then of course we brought out the drama for do me a favour and cornerstone. i cracked up that there were already gifs of the "forcing a smile" bit by the time i got home.

mirrorball started with alex conducting the stings again. i love it so much. also makes my musician ass miss performing lmao. but really, i can't get over how good mirrorball is. it's so dramatic, so emotional, then the actual mirrorball reveal??? i cried. it's insane. it's beautiful. it's honestly indescribable. i generally don't like people filming a lot or taking tons of pictures but you know what? mirrorball is an exception. holy mother of god.

and then 505!! i know i mentioned this earlier but really??? the mirrorball is only lit up like this for 505 and then they pull it back up?? there better be a mirrorball for me, he says, then we pull it down for the very miles song, and then they get rid of it???????? i had some thoughts.

our end of the stage got a bit distracted during do i wanna know bc we had someone go down in the crowd and had to call someone over to help. good news is that they were pretty close to the wall/barrier so it was easy to make space. even so, i realy can't get over how good that guitar sounds.

and then body paint. we've all seen videos of the extended outro and really, truly, it's just a life-altering experience to watch it life. it sounded incredible, it looked incredible with the rainbow lights, everyone looked like they were having a blast. i am a little biased bc i'm so attached to that song i'm getting tattoos about it on monday lmao. but man. not over it.

and finally the encore. ONE POINT PERSPECTIVE?????? i was NOT expecting it and absolutely lost my shit. unfortunately at this point bc we did some shifting around i no longer had a good view of anything. so it goes.

dancefloor, as always, was an absolute jam. bonus points bc now it's forever associated with our wedding. and r u mine had the place going nuts bc you know, the AM only folks, but really, i am also not immune to how hard that song goes.

all in all, that concert was absolutely incredible. i had an absolute BLAST and it was such a joy. i loved getting to be loud and truly did not care that there were bits where i was the only one who knew all the words. even my partner who is only really a tangential am fan had a really good time. they sounded amazing. i'm absolutely still on a high from it. hopefully the transition to a smaller venue again after the huge stadium tour was nice for the band, too!

Thank you so much! the start of the tutorial is below the cut but because it's multiple gifs and I could only add so many photos to a post to explain, I have had to split it onto another post but I have put a link at the end when it's time to move onto the next one. :) if anything doesn't make sense or if anyone follows this and it helps, i would love to know either way!

Glitch effect tutorial used on this set below the cut

note: credit to this tutorial which was very helpful when i was making the set but i didn't feel it explained how to do the b&w gif and that's what took me a while to figure out, so if anything on this tutorial isn't clear, that one should also help. this will be slightly different because in my set i made it so the glitch faded into each other and i've added my own flare to it but the basic technique is the same.

create 2 gifs the same size, you can add whatever colouring, sharpening etc you like, one in colour, one in b&w (you can do 2 in colour but for the purpose of this i'm doing one b&w to show how to do both versions).

i'm going to do the b&w gif fading into the colour gif on this tutorial (bc that's just what i started editing first) but obviously if you're making a full set decide which gif you want to fade into which because the first part of the gif will have the glitch effect on the end and the second will have it at the beginning so it will matter for the final outcome of your set

PART 1 - B&W GIF

if you edit in frame animation, you must convert your b&w gif to the video animation timeline otherwise the colours will not show up on the glitch effect. you can do this by clicking the lines menu above the frames

i usually colour in frame animation because it plays quicker to preview how it will look and then convert to video to add my sharpening at the end but it's personal preference how you create your gifs.

hold control + select all of your frames > right click > convert to smart object

all of your frames, colouring etc should all be in one frame now, select it > click the lines menu above the animation timeline again > convert frames > flatten frames into clips

you should now have a longer list of layers that make up each frame of your gif

this is because we need to convert back to frame animation to edit the glitch effect onto individual frames. if you don't flatten the frames to clips the gif will not play when it's converted because 1 layer will equal only 1 frame. it may seem long winded to go back and forth but it makes sure all your colouring is already included in the frames when you make it glitch. if you add the colouring afterwards it will change the colour of the glitch effect or turn it black and white and it won't be very visible (if anyone has an easier way i'm very happy for suggestions, i was just figuring this out as i went and found the glitch didn't work on the b&w gif any other way for me!!)

now we go back to the 3 lines menu > convert frames > convert to frame animation

if you get this pop up, press continue. it's fine because we have each of our frames in their own layers now

your frame animation timeline will initially load with just one frame

go to the lines menu again > make frames from layers

now all of the frames will load, but they will be at 0 seconds (except the first frame) and we need to make them all run at a playable speed, so go back to that same lines menu above the timeline > select all frames > select under any frame where it says 0 sec. > other > i usually put in 0.05 but do whatever works for you

PART 2 - ADDING THE GLITCH EFFECT

pick a frame about 5 from the end, select it and select the corresponding layer with the eye icon next to it to show it's the one visible

right click > duplicate layer (or just press control + J)

then on the copy of the layer right click > blending options (or double click)

in the advanced blending section, untick R > ok

make sure the move tool is selected

now using the arrow keys on your keyboard move that layer either left or right as many notches as you like (i've started out with 10 here)

hold control > select both the visible layers

right click > merge layers

now move onto the next frame and corresponding layer and repeat the same process (i have no idea why my ps decided frame 46 doesn't exist so ignore that dkjddj)

if the frame(s) below is still visible, just click the eye to hide it so only the one you're working on and it's copy layer are showing

this time i've moved the layer 6 notches to the right as below

keep going until you get to the end of the animation. you can move each layer as much as you like either side just play around with your gif and do whatever you think looks good! if you want to do more than the last 5 frames or less than them, do that too! just remember that we are also going to put a glitch on the coloured gif then combine them, so the final glitch effect will be longer

when you're done, you might have to go back to the first frame on your animation and hide all of the layers you've just edited because on mine they all visible so the gif won't play

then go back to the end of the gif and make the right layer visible on the right frame again (hopefully this makes sense)

so far, the gif should play something like this

to make it smoother i picked a few frames earlier in the gif, before the start of the glitch at the end to add the same effect to the first frame i edited was number 32 (layer 'frame 45'), so i'm going to add it to frames 25 and 26 as well

then i selected the last frame and layer > filter (at the top of the screen) > blur > motion blur

then pick another frame and corresponding layer > filter > noise > add noise

do this to a couple of frames of your choice with the glitch effect on too, it makes it a little more grunge-y which i think fits with the concept that it's supposed to be glitching/broken

now it looks like this, subtle but in my opinion notably smoother

go to the left side of the screen under the frame timeline and click the convert to video timeline button

once i've converted it back to the video timeline, i like to select all of my layers again > right click > group from layers (or select all and control + g). i'm going to rename this b&w so it doesn't get confusing later

The thing that got me about this is that the spot that Max walked up to in the drivers’ parade was the small gap between Charles and Daniel.

And personally I thought it was pretty obvious that Max was making his usual beeline for Daniel, but Charles very clearly wanted to talk to Max so worked to get his attention, and Daniel was deep in conversation with a bigger group of drivers including Alex.

And Charles was already talking to Pierre, and the photo that Charles posted to Instagram was of his talking to Pierre and Max. With Pierre in the middle, between Charles and Max. I saw Tumbkr posts talking about Charles pulling a “hard launch on main” and for a moment, I thought, “ah! The L*stappies have realized that Piarles is the real Charles OTP”. But no.

And then I wondered, did they see Max’s hard launch of Maxiel of his Insta a short while ago, where he’s gazing at Daniel with stars in his eyes? Have they compared the two? Have they seen Daniel’s new blog that just dropped today? Because that’s how Max looks when he’s in the presence of someone he adores.

I mean, none of this f1 shipping is real and it’s also not that deep, and hearing about different perspectives is not only interesting but necessary in many parts of life.

But it’s hard to tell if some L*stappies are being wilfully blind (while also being very aware of that wilful blindness), or if it’s just a lack of media literacy and general comprehension, which reminds me of the crazy tinhat shipping stuff from One Direction fandom which was Very Not Good (it destroyed the fandom and possible the band and it’s friendships).

To be honest, I don't necessarily like talking about L*stappies bc they're crazy and like to attack me. But they're also helping me prove my point. Which is that L*stappies like to ignore other duos like Piarles and Maxiel to force the L*stappen agenda.

Also Max's "hard launch" of Daniel was so funny. He literally posted himself staring at Daniel with the most love sickening look ever.

And yes, none of this shipping is real. But I feel like a lot of L*stappen shippers take it too seriously. They take the smallest interaction and over use it. If Max talks about his friendships with other drivers, they'll get mad that he didn't say Charles. Charles has literally said he's not as close to any other driver compared to his relationship with Pierre, but they completely ignore that. Not to offend any L*stappie, but they're kind of rude when it comes to Charles' friendship with Pierre and are even ruder to Maxiel and Lando and Max. It seems like they're not just shipping for fun anymore (like me), but they kind of want Max and Charles to date. (Which is weird. Charles has a girlfriend and so does Max (even though I don't like Kelly))

Also, I realized that the Maxiel fandom kind of ignores Lestappies, but for some reason, Lestappies HATE the Maxiel fandom. Like huh?? And the Piarles fandom is so chill. Like we have all the content we need, we have all the moments we need, but for some reason, we're hated on by the Lestappies? It's a bit crazy tbh.

And going to one direction, I FUCKIN LOVE THEM!! but I agree, the shipping of Larry ruined the band. It was honestly weird and they hated every girl that Harry and Louis dated (sound familiar?) it's bad too bc I was NOT a Larry shipper and got hate for it, and now I'm not a L*stappen shipper which I got hate for?? LIKE LEAVE ME ALONEEEE

But it was after I watched S6 E136 and literally that night I had a dream where this whole scene was played out in my head. And it just felt so dramatic in the right ways and just raw emotion that I had to write it down. And it's STILL my most liked post on this entire blog😭 but honestly understandable bc sometimes I go back and read it and I'm just like "damn wait I wrote that????" lmfaoo

"Only for you, Toshi" — Shinsou:

Completely opposite from the last one, this is actually the longest thing I've ever written. (that's posted anyway, there's a few longer still in my drafts) I just feel like Shinsou doesn't get enough love but he definitely deserves it😭❤️ all my friends that read it said they really enjoyed it and I'm just really happy with how it came out after working on it for a couple weeks, and that not touching it for a few months and then coming back to it only to finish it in like 2 days lmao

(@bunny-x-haru if you'd like to follow) it's currently still a work in progress with only a few parts released, but it is a continuation of a 2 part fic I wrote when I first started called "You're the Only Thing That Makes Sense" — Bakugo So I do recommend reading this one first before Secrets for context and background info. I feel like you can really see my growth in writing from then to now, cuz that was like literally the second thing I ever posted lol. And Haru was literally my biggest fan bc he's the one that got me into writing fanfic<3 so after he read it, he had this absolutely BRILLIANT idea (spoiler) to take the scene I wrote where bakugo and deku were caught fighting after school hours (similar to that scene from season....2? When Bakugo learned about OFA) and turn it into a BakuDeku love triangle and I was honestly obsessed with the idea

I was checking on my seed-sowing area this morning (no growth yet) and found the invasive species of the day: garlic mustard!

Garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata) is a biennial plant in the, yes, mustard family Brassicaceae (that also includes cabbages, and radishes) that smells like garlic when its leaves are crushed. It's native across Europe, the Maghreb, and as far east as Pakistan and western China. Garlic mustard was introduced to the United States by European settlers and it has since spread across the East Coast into the Midwest and southeastern Canada. It was introduced for erosion control but mainly for culinary purposes - it's one of the oldest herbs in Europe with a history going back to 4000 BC. That being said, young garlic mustard plants contain a level of cyanide that is toxic to most vertebrate life, so be sure to chop it first to release the cyanide gas. They might not have beat Jesus with this thing but they might have fed him with it.

Garlic mustard has a few key properties that make it an excellent and dastardly invasive species. Like porcelainberry (see previous post), it cannot be composted and has to be removed by the rooted, bagged, and thrown in the garbage.

1) It's a biennial so it lives for two years in two distinct stages. In its first year of life, it stays close to the ground in rosettes (think of the circular shape of dandelions) and grows an extremely deep taproot, so out of sight, out of mind for people who want to remove it or animals who might eat it (more on that below). In the second year of life, the rosettes turn into small white flowers and the plants shoots up with new growth, up to 39 inches (about 1 meter) in height; the biggest plant that I pulled this morning was about as wide as my shoulders. The plants grow what's called a silique (basically a bean pod with confidence) that contains hundreds of seeds which can be yeeted several meters from the parent plant. These seeds can survive, dormant, in the soil for five years. Neat, eh?

2) Garlic mustard is simply so nasty that no one wants to fuck with it. The taste of garlic mustard is horrible to most browsing animals (i.e. deer), so they avoid it. In fact, deer trampling the plants instead of eating them helps the seeds spread more effectively. Insects won't lay their eggs on it and the leaves are actually toxic to some native moth and butterfly species. Below the ground, garlic mustard releases what are called allelochemicals that suppress the mycorrhizal fungi that helps tree seedlings grow and thus reduce competitive pressure from other plants. While the plants in garlic mustard's native range are adapted to these, the plants in North America are not. It can and will completely dominate an understory and then persist because of the long-term seed bank survival + weakened mycorrhizal fungi. It is simply a huge pain in the ass to get out and keep out.

However if you are not a moth or other species of Lepidoptera, garlic mustard is edible and garlic mustard pesto is a classic foraging recipe. And if you really want to get wild, you can make this garlic mustard...martini.

Good

•Florida doesn't like Cali's cooking as it's healthy to the point it's bland and unfilling. But Florida will eat it anyway. However, as Cali got more stressed he began making food for him. Everyday for a month Cali woke up to the smell of waffles and pancakes and glazed fruit. He was genuinely impressed the house didn't burn down but found the meal too rich after a while. Then one day they decided to cook together and accidently invented a new food that was the perfect balance.

•They love watersports (like actual sports on water not piss I had to learn that the hard way) and go to the beach every week for date night. They get competitive and it only goes too far once when Florida did the alligator move of death rolling in the water. California was only mildly annoyed with Florida getting too rough in the water.

The bad

• Florida gets homesick a lot but can't always go home. California tried making things seem like home with Disneyland and Halloween horror nights, but they only make Florida miss his home more. When Florida gets really upset Cali will just cuddle him.

•Because Cali uses his exes Hulu, Florida can see what his ex likes. It's not the only thing Cali's ex left behind. Sometimes Florida will find a picture of the two- other times he will find "blood" on the ex's shirt or find a box of his ex's things (including photo albums and a dvd of human centipede with bonus features). Florida also found a hole in the wall from what he assumed was from Cali's ex being aggressive and he confronted Cali on his findings.

The reality was very different. California and his ex got along well and were still friends. In fact Cali's ex offered to continue paying for hulu, his old shirts were "bloody" bc it's a Halloween costume and the only reason why Cali still keeps his stuff is because his ex doesn't have enough room in his own apartment. But the human centipede? Oh California just hid that after his ex wanted to make out to a horror movie and didn't read the warnings.

Florida felt a bit insecure on how close Cali was to his ex, but eventually he accepted they didn't have anything else going on.

Confusing

•Florida is shark bite capital and part gator, and when he was teething he didn't know what to bite. California was right in front of him, reading a book. He went straight for his arm. They then proceeded to stare at each other for at least 15min before Florida grabbed the book and went absolutely feral.

•Sometimes, when Cali comes home he hears Florida playing bad bunny and leaves.

•Both of them are Tumblr shippers. But Florida is a multishipper and Cali is a reader/character and an otp shipper. They have fandom discourse.

HAHAHA ok i did the main one for each year bc sometimes i would pick someone and give up after a few days bc i couldn't make myself like him 💀

this is the most embarrassing one... when i was a freshman this random upperclassman sat next to me on the bus at the beginning of the school year and we had one conversation but i had a crush on him FOR THE ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR 💀 i didn't know his name for like 5 months so i made up a name for him. one of the few times i even spoke to him was bc he told my friends he'd pay them to put up posters for a class he was in, but then my friends didn't do it, and the teacher got mad at my crush. later he found me and my friends and asked us what happened and i was just like idk and never said a word to him again but still secretly liked him for months 💀

the skateboard guy from my previous post 😭 i checked my diary from that time and what happened was, my friend was mad bc she told me she liked him but i would still joke around with him during class, so one day before lunch she went up to him and said i loved him, and i got mad and said "no, [friend] loves you. i just want you to know i really don't like you." when i went home, i listened to my sad music playlist which included a ska song and i was going through it bc he played trombone and there was trombone in the song 💀 and then i just stopped approaching him 💀

junior year, i couldn't find anyone at school so i picked this guy in an extracurricular activity i was in bc we held hands during a group activity 💀 he was actually kinda boring and i really had to work to like him since he would scold me for being too loud or rowdy 😭 one time i was telling him and his friend that i made up a fake boyfriend bc this weird guy at school wouldn't leave me alone and he was disappointed in me and told me i should always be honest 💀

this one is the worst bc this guy was a republican and liked hunting for fun and was the whitest of all the white guys i ever liked 😭 but he was 6'2"! and it was senior year so i had exhausted all my other options!! i saw on his Facebook profile that he liked Fatal Bazooka which is this French comedy rapper from the 2000s so I started listening to Fatal Bazooka but i didn't want him to think i was creeping on his profile so i'd just listen secretly 💀 we got along well and graduated without me doing anything embarrassing but years later i was wondering whatever happened to him and found his ig and accidentally liked some of his photos

(also, i wanted to say congrats for finishing come back to me and forgive everything!! my apologies as i have not read it yet, but i know how challenging it can be to finish a longer work like that, so congrats on accomplishing what you did and for making something you're proud of :] 💜💜💜)

so my expectations for s5 are on the floor because sherlock hurt me too much back in the early-2010s so now i live life with no expectations for tv. but!! as far as silly goofy things i would love to see:

Argyle being a chekhov's gun of plot relevance like he was in vol2 getting them into the pizza shop. idk how, but i want him to have vital info that helps them avert the apocalypse. i'm thinking maybe since he's an outsider and isn't is as mired in all the UD stuff as everyone else that maybe he has some clarity about the situation that comes with distance. like have him point out something super obvious and everybody be like "well why didn't WE think of that"

i also think some pedantic bickering among the main group is warranted. just have them argue over something so minute and so unnecessary and get lost in the details of it because it's the damn apocalypse and of course they're looking for a distraction

i have one post-s4 fic where they go to a grocery store for a supply run and Mike slips on a rotten banana,,,not to reveal my love of slapstick humor on main but like. i do think something like that happening to any of the main characters would be funny, full offense to them (fic can be found here!)

and finally, there is an alternate universe that lives in my head where stranger things is a monster-of-the-week, 22-episodes-per-season styled show that has gimmick episodes, and if i were able to manifest at least one gimmick episode for s5 (that will never happen bc of the show's format but pls let me dream), i would want them to have a bottle episode/memory loss episode like Tabula Rasa from Buffy the Vampire Slayer!! just something where all the older and younger teens are stuck in Mike's basement, something happens, and all of them wake up with no recollection of who they are and have to piece together what they can based on the information they have contained on their persons and in the environment around them. i wanna write this fic so so bad and have for MONTHS now but just haven't gotten around to it,,,but tbh i don't care if it would be a total tonal disconnect from the rest of the season. i would 100% watch an hour long break from the main plot just to watch all the main characters suffer temporary amnesia and have to figure out who they are. plus it'd be funny just to see what people come up with, like...do Steve and Nancy wake up next to each other and assume they're a couple?? with Will's drawings up in the basement, do people assume it's Will's house? what happens when they find a family photo and realize Nancy and Mike are siblings and this is their house? things like that would be so so fun!!

disclaimer: this is all based on my experience and im sure there are other users with better tips than me so DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR GOSPEL BAHAHA

(also I'm going to assume you reached out to me because you want to start a kpop writing blog and not smth else, so all these tips are obv specific to writing blogs. I also don't know how experienced u are w Tumblr so I might say some obvious things,, sorry if you already know most of these things!!)

anyway tumblr is actually really intuitive and after about two days I honestly think you'll get it (probably even within a day tbh). here are some quick steps I feel like make sense in my mind:

find a url (if you're starting a kpop writing blog,, most people seem to include the name/a reference to their bias but in my case i kinda just went w my name and played around w it until I liked it 😭 you can also search for "url ideas" in tumblr if you're having trouble!!) keep in mind you can literally change it at any point in time so don't worry about choosing the -perfect- one

set up your blog! most of the time, people have a navigation post (the pinned post where everything is linked so readers can navigate ur blog easily), a masterlist (a post that shows everything you've ever written), a wip list (a post that lists all your works in progress, so fics you're currently writing and want to publish in the near future). additionally, people have a post about themselves (like an about me section with blog rules and stuff. this is my old old one). personally, i have a carrd right now (this is mine here) and you'll find other users have one or the other!

set up your navigation post: hyperlink honestly everyone's different (btw don't worry about taking these tips too seriously bc honestly u should do whatever you want on your blog — it's yours after all!!) but I think most people include their name, pronouns, age (sometimes), timezone (sometimes) and hyperlinks to their masterlist + wip list.

how to hyperlink im sure you've done it before for school, but it's really easy! here's a demonstration — this link will send you to my navi, and this link will send you to one of my fics! to do it, you just need to copy the link of whatever post you're trying to hyperlink (three dots in the top right of the post -> "copy link"), typesomething, double click onto the word you're trying to link it to, tap the 🔗 button, and copy the link into that! (in this example, it'd look like this: something.)

how to make ur navi neat/pretty personally, I used to just search for moodboards (on tumblr) and pick 3 photos that I really liked (obviously give credit to whoever made the moodboard!). what I have now is just something that I designed but you can have one or the other, it doesn't really matter! other tips I think I'd suggest is to keep it as simple as possible; you can embellish it later but make sure it's easy to read and people can see all the links! I really like searching for "symbols" on Tumblr, and then there are cute lil symbols u can add to your post :) or just use emojis! or dashes! this might be a little ahead, but I have a tutorial on gradient text if you really care, but maybe focus on the base first :D just as an example, my moot @.hazyyu has a really pretty navi!

apply the same principles to your masterlist + wip list + about me just search for symbols, add whatever images you think look pretty, search for "line breaks" on Tumblr and there are pictures of links you can use to divide stuff up! making a carrd is easy but time-consuming (just search on YouTube "carrd tutorial")

there are other caveats to a writing blog, but those were just the basics! here are some other things I thought I could mention:

a permanent taglist is a list of people you tag every single time you publish a story/update it (for the purpose of them being notified every time you post) — sometimes people will ask u to "add me to your permanent taglist!" which just means tag them every time you post a story. personally, I have a google form for anyone that wants to be on the permanent taglist, but I didn't do that initially — I used to just wait until people sent in an ask asking to be on it and then I'd have a separate post with everyone who did. for example, this was my old one! doesn't matter whichever approach you do ^^

people also organise their blog via the hashtags I do this too! it's so much easier that way :)) for example, every time I get an ask, I tag it with "#ask" (umm a lot of people are much more creative w their tags but personally icb lmaoo — here's an example of my friend who used a different tag and it's really pretty!). if you want help with organising your blog w tags, here's an explanation I wrote a while back!

if you want help promoting your work, you should consider joining a few networks! these are basically big big blogs that reblog all your work so more people can see ur stuff ^^ here are some of the ones I'm a part of: kflixnet, enhanet, k-labels!

you'll meet other users along the way and call them your moots; most of the time this just means you interact w them a lot via asks/dms. personally I'm not really active and I kinda find it hard to keep track of a lot of moots so I stick to myself and interact w anyone that comes my way!! but bae u can do whatever u want!! go find blogs of people that seem rlly cool and send an ask and just see where it goes; just don't badger people, be nice and I think you'll pick up on sm things naturally!!!

I did not know that today was @whoiwanttoday's birthday even tho he always knows when it's mine. In my defence I never know when anyone's birthday is (I've even been known to forget my own). I think it comes down to the fact that one thing I hate a lot is expectations. Like, having high expectations and then being let down is one of the worst feelings. Or, wondering what expectations are and worrying a lot about meeting them—hate that. And holidays (including birthdays) are fraught with expectations, which is why I always downplay them bc that's all just too much for me. However, when it's easy to celebrate, I go for it, and this one was easy. You see, I already had this Charli XCX poster made because I knew I'd be posting her again soon enough. I'll let you all in on a little secret: I have quite a few girlcrush posters already made (you're welcome to guess how many... in fact anyone who guesses correctly gets to choose a girlcrush subject for me to make a poster of). I do that because 1. I like making the posters... it's a very relaxing and enjoyable way to spend time, and 2. It's great to have a collection of pre-made posters of girls I know I'm going to post anyways, for those days where I just don't have the time. So, ya, I already had this poster, and then @whoiwanttoday used the source photo from this poster in his bday post, so that's a sign, I think. Now, you might think that my birthday present to him is posting this poster of Charli XCX, but that's not the main present. The main present is this: admitting that there was a time when I didn't think much of Charli, both as an artist as well as general hotness. It will forever be a mystery how that even happened in the first place, but there is no doubt that the hero who pulled me out of that dark place was none other than today's birthday boy and I publicly acknowledge that he is 100% responsible for making me realize that Charli was ridiculously hot and that her music was excellent. And I'd say that my most most favourite songs from the past couple years have mainly been Charli songs. I adore her music SO much. And she is extremely hot.
