i don't usually add on to posts BUT also:
MarkowskyArt on youtube. More specifically this playlist if you're just starting out: Beginner's Drawing Course
Can't afford art school?
After seeing post like this 👇
And this gem 👇
As well as countless of others from the AI generator community. Just talking about how "inaccessible art" is, I decided why not show how wrong these guys are while also helping anyone who actually wants to learn.
Here is the first one ART TEACHERS! There are plenty online and in places like youtube.
📺Here is my list:
Proko (Free)
Marc Brunet (Free but he does have other classes for a cheap price. Use to work for Blizzard)
Aaron Rutten (free)
BoroCG (free)
Jesse J. Jones (free, talks about animating)
Jesus Conde (free)
Mohammed Agbadi (free, he gives some advice in some videos and talks about art)
Ross Draws (free, he does have other classes for a good price)
SamDoesArts (free, gives good advice and critiques)
Drawfee Show (free, they do give some good advice and great inspiration)
The Art of Aaron Blaise ( useful tips for digital art and animation. Was an animator for Disney)
Bobby Chiu ( useful tips and interviews with artist who are in the industry or making a living as artist)
Second part BOOKS, I have collected some books that have helped me and might help others.
📚Here is my list:
The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.
"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.
"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.
"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.
"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.
"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.
"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.
"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.
"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.
Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.
As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are more expensive.
For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.
💻As for art programs here is a list of Free to pay.
Clip Studio paint ( you can choose to pay once or sub and get updates)
Procreate ( pay once for $9.99)
Blender (for 3D modules/sculpting, ect Free)
PaintTool SAI (pay but has a 31 day free trail)
Krita (Free)
mypaint (free)
FireAlpaca (free)
Libresprite (free, for pixel art)
Those are the ones I can recall.
So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.
I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.
Hope this was helpful and have a great day.
#this was what pushed me to actually start learning how to draw#BUT#i didn't find any playlist of those youtubers that got me started#but i found MarkowskyArt#which has a 40 video playlist for beginners that i'm following along#it's great#right now i'm on lesson/video 6 and it's tough because it's about perspective :) but i do think it's a great way to start learning y'all#he does have other stuff#even about acrylic painting etc#anyway just go for it y'all#if i can finally start learning properly at 32 so can you

Compass (Norm Maclean x OC) - I
"Look at him, all smart at turning off the light." A voice whispered close to his ear, thick and rough. "Listen." The voice got even lower, and he did, even if unconsciously, half of him certain that at any point there would be a knife, either against his throat or through his back.

PLAYLIST ON YOUTUBE
(I recommend hearing "Compass" by Sail North, it's my main writing song for this one, but there is also "Brave New World" by Starset and "Nails" by Call me Karizma, don't ask me about the last one, I don't know too. Good reading!)
Word Count: 4.323
Warnings: ... Wasteland Typical Violence
I
"Ran out the door some years ago
Slinging words at my old man like thistles and stones
Said: No need to worry, I’ll never come home
My mom crying: Don’t go, as I raced down the road
Straight through 'till Sun fell I kept up the pace
'Till darkness embraced me and I lost my way"
(Compass - Sail North)
He stumbled outside, forcing his legs as he heard the grinding sound of the Vault door closing echoing behind him. His feet slid down the sand and he dry-swallowed, steps fast amidst the ruins - he had been lucky, managing to escape that weird robot Bud and to slink around Vault 33 and reach the outside door.
He had thought of trying to reach out Chet, tell the others, tell what he had discovered... But the before of Vault 32 was still fresh in his mind. They had discovered, and it had led to madness. And people were still so tense... Either they wouldn't believe him, or they would, and then... They weren't made for this type of thing, too innocent and naïve as the talks about how to deal with the invaders had shown, and with no will of trying to learn more. Properly raised to be agreeable. It would only make things worse.
Norm didn't want that to happen with the ones he knew, no matter how... Complicated things usually were, how out of place he felt. And after all of Betty's veiled threats, after the deaths of the invaders, he was pretty sure he would either be killed or framed for those deaths. It didn't matter if he never told a soul, he knew too much, didn't complied when they wanted him to.
No. Leaving and try to find Lucy, tell her everything, that their father was not who they thought, was his best bet. Still didn't know what to do after, but still. Better than stay, silent and frustrated and unable to do anything.
Even if survival seemed equally unlikely above.
He stopped by a shadow, blinking at the darkening sky; he had been so desperate to leave before anyone really noticed him that he hadn't noticed how late in the day it was. Norm grimaced as he took a sip of water from his canteen. Night fast approaching, supplies far from ideal because of his fast escape, no weapons, no experience outside the Vault...
He better survive enough to find Lucy. She better be alive, or he would kill her himself again. Somehow.
---------
An old night vision scope showed the fire glimmering in light green, the electrified bodies of radroaches starting to pile around it. A reasonable haul for one night of hunting; after dry, it would sell fast in Filly.
If the Brotherhood didn't give her shit as she tried to enter the city. Damn, had they made everything more complicated. Why had they even come?
She hoped at least one molerat would stumble into it before the traps' batteries ran out; their leather was useful, and once treated reached good prices, especially with shoemakers - not as good as brahmin leather, but useful enough for the craft and one of her family's main income.
Moving the scope around the terrain, she kept her old, trusty hunting rifle ready and close by her hand. It was a shame the scope was so bulky; she had tried again and again to attach it to the rifle, but either it didn't stuck, or it messed up the weapons weight. Not even Mika had been able to make it work. In the end the scope just remained dangling from a leather cord around her neck when not in use.
She contracted her legs, keeping the muscles from falling asleep from her immobility in her hiding spot. She would be damned if pinpricks and needles stopped her from moving when needed.
Movement caught her attention at the edges of the scope and she moved it, centralizing the movement.
Through the shades of green, she recognized the human proportions. Too far away to identify too many details, half fallen walls and columns obstructing the view half the time but... Yeah, a person trying to skulk around the ruins. In the Wasteland. During the night. And... Yep, a lit flashlight. They were walking carefully from what she saw, sure, but... Did they have a death wish?
She watched some more, cursing the low resolution of the scope; more steps, going in a more open area, steps insecure... And the direction made her sure that soon the person would see the fire.
And in the night, would walk towards it. Maybe steal her haul, maybe take a shock and mess up her traps, maybes maybes maybes... Too many maybes for her.
"Fuck." she mumbled, lowering the scope with a scowl towards where she had last seen the person, just a smidge of a silhouette in the dark ruins, already amidst the walls again.
Still cursing under her breath, she got up, practiced movements hanging the backpack over her back and rifle over a shoulder in less than ten seconds, sliding down the old fireman's pole.
---------
Norm kept walking across the ruins long after the sun had set, trying to keep behind the half-standing walls and use his height to stay out of sight. The sounds of the wind across the sand and ruins around him low, rumbling, all-encompassing. It was unnerving after how silent the Vault was most of the time, just steps against metal and voices.
It was hard to process that wind could make so much noise when his only examples were old movies.
A space in the ruins opened ahead, and a small focus of light flashed across the night, reaching some walls. Frowning, he slowed his steps, carefully moving around the rocks and broken concrete, and his eyes fell on a burning fire, right in the open, on the top of a small hill of sand, almost detached from the rest of the ruins, and he stopped.
Norm could notice something glimmering around it, at some distance in the ground... But besides, it was just that. The fire, burning. No people, no nothing.
He turned off his Pip-boy's flashlight.
Something slid across his face and covered his mouth - a hand? -, a presence behind him, blocking the wind and the desert's cold. Damn it. Damn it.
"Look at him, all smart at turning off the light." A voice whispered close to his ear, thick and rough. "Listen." The voice got even lower, and he did, even if unconsciously, half of him certain that at any point there would be a knife, either against his throat or through his back.
First the wind whistling, the sand slowly being blown off, the crackling of the fire... And then in the wind a small, skittering sound, and as he watched the fire, something approached... And an arc of electricity, a high pitched but brief noise, something jumping and falling, too big, darkness and distance making it difficult to actually see.
"Radroach. Nasty things in group, kinda bitter, but food is food. Easy to catch if you know how." Norm filled away the whisper, waiting during a beat of silence. Still no knife, no nothing. "All righty, it seems we are clear for now. There is a house still standing with a door close by, let's go."
The hand fell away from him, and Norm waited for a heartbeat, but there was only the soft sound of a step, no other attempt at touching him, no knife at his back.
"Why should I go with you?" He whispered back, turning halfway, the light of the distant fire just enough to highlight edges.
It was enough for him to notice that the person was probably taller and bigger than Chet. Not by much, but still a terrifying prospect, because they had done absolutely no sound when approaching.
A chuckle, and something in it was distinctly feminine.
"You do you, Vaultie, but I'm going. Wasteland nights in the outside ain't pretty or fun. Just keep away from my trap, hm?"
The woman turned and started walking.
Norm watched, looked over his shoulder at the fire still burning, the bait for something he didn't even knew in a place he still needed to learn all about, which rules applied and which didn’t...
She was at the fourth step when he started following, another chuckle, a hand waving him ahead.
"Keep the flashlight off and walk besides me." Norm couldn't avoid a huff but did as told.
A rock made him stumble and a hand at his shoulder kept him from falling. He squinted at the night, tempted to light the flashlight... But the skittering sound replayed in his head, the fire a bait, and he kept it off.
---------
His eyes had slowly adapted enough to not stumble all the time, so it was easy to notice the silhouette of the woman stopping by an old and cracked wooden door. Norm doubted it would actually protect them from something, but it was better than all the half-walls.
She put a hand at the doorknob, another raising something to her eye, and Norm rolled his eyes. Of course she had something to see in the dark.
The door slowly inched open, hinges grinding, and he winced. She stuck her head inside for a moment, came out, took a rock from the ground and threw inside, a muffled bang reaching him.
They waited and listened, but there was no other sound for long moments, and she signaled for him to enter. The woman followed a moment later, carefully closing the door. The darkness deepened, only small cracks in walls and roof allowing slivers of moonlight inside, and the lack of wind blowing against him made him notice how cold it was outside.
"You can turn on the flashlight. I'll verify the rest of the house."
Her steps were faster than his hands, the light catching only the ends of leather boots - old, stained, but well cared and well made.
He looked around; sandy, but not like outside, barred windows keeping the night and wind out there. Some old chairs, three still up but not safe-looking. A table broken in the middle, missing a leg. A shelf, empty and stained but standing.
"No animals, the other door and windows still securely barred." The woman got closer, and Norm turned, the flashlight giving a face to the voice.
Yep. Taller and broader than Chet at shoulders and hips and... Everything, really. She looked able to break his neck with nary a thought. But she hadn't, he reassured himself.
Yet.
Jeans, shirt and short leather cape over shoulders, a type of bag-belt around hips and thighs, full of pockets, a hunting rifle slung on one shoulder. Clothes weathered with old stains, flakes of sand drifting off, and neatly mended innumerous times.
Above it all, a square jaw, rounded chin, high cheekbones, a large mostly-straight nose - it was pretty clear the bridge had been broken and not put in place correctly before the bone glued back. Weathered brown skin, hair a brownish-auburnish dirty color with strands against her face, metal rings glinting in her eyebrow and ears. He couldn't estimate her age safely.
And the scars. Those made him blink for a second. A large burn stripe at one cheek, scraggly lines across her nose, what suspiciously looked as claw marks at the other cheek, a cut from the bottom lip to the chin... In the harsh light of his flashlight, the scars looked deep, furrows marring the skin like rivers in the desert.
So unlike the invaders, with no facial scars to outright make someone suspicious, and at the same time something in the eyes and posture was exactly like them.
"Seeing something pretty, Vaultie?"
Her voice cut his observation, and Norm focused in time to catch the raised eyebrow and cheeky grin, a gap showing where she had lost a tooth.
"Just... " he shook his head, uncertain of what to say as she landed her backpack in the ground, things inside clinking. "... Thinking." he ended with a shrug as she released an old oil lantern from the backpack, positioning it at the shelf and lighting it.
He turned off his flashlight, the light from the lantern illuminating the room better in a warm, diffuse light that softened her face in a way that made him think that she shouldn't be much older than him, actually.
"Fair enough." She plopped down by her backpack, legs crossed, rifle besides her. "There are still some hours before the sun graces us, so make yourself comfortable, Vaultie."
He carefully sat down opposite her, eyes occasionally glinting towards the rifle.
That, plus what he now could see was an old scope dangling from her neck, and the fact that he had barely heard her steps, before and after, solidified in his mind that she could've killed him anytime, but hadn't. Why?
A zipping sound, and the woman took a canteen and a cloth packet from the backpack. A piece of what appeared to be jerky was taken from the packet, and the sound of chewing filled the room.
"Got food and water with you, Vaultie?"
"It's Norm. And yes, I do."
Not enough.
He didn't say that while he took his own canteen and one Fancy Lads Snack Cakes from his sidebag.
"Good." She nodded, taking a sip of the water. "And it's Marigold here, if you're wondering."
They ate mostly in silence, the wind still noising around outside; Norm watched and noticed how her eyes - mismatched, one brown and one black - didn't stay in a single place for long, head leaned this way and that at each different spike in sound outside, wide, thick lips twisting occasionally before relaxing. He heard those too, but didn't have enough context to say what caused them. Or where.
And he hated that, the unknown.
"Sooo, Norm... Is it ok of me to ask why you left your Vault?"
He looked up from closing his side-bag, and Marigold was mostly watching him, knees up and arms crossed over them. Why hadn't she killed him?
"To find my sister. She... Left some time ago."
Just his sister. No father, no kidnapping, no attack, nothing beyond Lucy, because after his discovery, he wasn’t certain if it was safe to go around saying all about that.
She frowned at him, a pensive hand at her chin.
"... I heard of a Vaultie girl in Filly recently, from a merchant..." Norm perked up at the snippet of information.
"Where's that?"
"Not too far, but I don't recommend. The Brotherhood occupied it recently, and they can get really frisky with pre-war tech." Marigold nodded towards his Pip-Boy, and Norm's hand covered it, almost absentmindedly.
"Brotherhood?" He repeated, and she grimaced, scratching at her head.
"Fuck. All righty, time for a crash-course."
---------
The lantern's light dimmed as the time passed, the woman pretended to nap - her fingers were just too tight against the rifle, no way she was actually sleeping -, and Norm reflected on what Marigold had shared about the surface. Not extensive, but enlightening.
Filly, a small city, where most travelling merchants passed through. Even if Lucy hadn't been the "Vaultie girl" Marigold had heard about, it was his best bet of where to find information.
However, the so called Brotherhood of Steel... Marigold had been clear in saying that meeting one on a day-to-day life was usually fine, as long as you didn't get in the way of whatever they were doing, their "mission", which usually involved pre-war tech. Filly was the first place she knew they had occupied, and while she hadn’t visited yet, she had heard enough of wandering trading caravans to know that, a lot of the times, when they occupied a place and insisted they had arrived to "bring order", things could get nasty, especially if there was pre-tech around or, as she had put very sarcastically "normal Ghouls and other mutants. God forbid people have consequences from radiation".
He hadn't asked details about Ghouls and mutants yet; he didn't want to go on a tangent.
She had never heard of them trying to occupy a functioning Vault, but she still said he should thread carefully when dealing with them, if only because his Pip-boy was still functional.
Norm hadn’t talked about it, but he was pretty sure that the cryogenic technology in Vault 31 probably would attract unwanted attention if they heard about it so yeah, that advice he was taking to heart. It was what had probably attracted that Moldaver woman, after all.
Maybe she was with them? Them why had she caused a bunch of deaths, kidnapped his father, and then just… Left? He was still missing something.
There had also been mention of more factions by name, but she hadn't gone in details beyond "stay away from Bounty Hunters, you never know whose price is up". New thing to learn: how the hell do you identify a Bounty Hunter?
She ended talking about some of the more common and obvious dangers of the Wastelands - raiders, slavers, cannibals, feral ghouls, and a dozen of mutated animals. Not as common as she made them sound, "no sir, I just survive from hunting through dangerous places and as long as one tries to keep to a settlement they should be safe from these".
"Until some maniac tech-hoarding zealot order decided to occupy such settlement, that is" had escaped him and she had laughed loudly at that.
The "crash-course", as she had put, had fizzled out and she claimed she was going to sleep, still sitting, and Norm remained wide awake, thinking, one single feeling taking hold of him, resuming everything she had said: it was all about survival, and too many people didn’t care if it meant trampling over others.
The “Wasteland”, as she had called, was even worse than he had thought.
And the people in Vault were talking about teaching and rehabilitating the invaders. They didn’t have the barest notion. And he was starting to understand that neither did him.
After how she had immediately noticed he was a Vault Dweller, and what she said about everyone and everything else, Norm reached the conclusion he would need to not look out-of-place, at least long enough to snoop around the mentioned city, Filly, and discover if it had been Lucy there and where she might have gone.
And he hadn't even started to think about supplies and the local currency she had briefly explained - "caps".
Norm sighed and pinched his nose. He could barely look in-place in the Vault where he had spent his whole life, on the so-called Wasteland? He doubted he had a chance.
"You should try and sleep a little." Marigold's voice cut the silence, the brown eye open and watching him.
"And you have been doing a lot of it, I see."
---------
Marigold chuckled, straightening herself.
"Guilty as charged."
She didn't tell it was because he thought loudly - not literally, he had been quiet as the grave until that sigh. Only, she had been hunting in the Wastes as far as she could remember, and she had learned that silence was louder just before something dangerous appeared to take you out. Not even her house was ever silent, with the generators and fans in the tanning room and the turrets and so many people inside at any given moment, never everyone sleeping at the same time because someone had to keep watch. Despite the wind and all the living sounds of the desert outside, the silence inside had made sleep impossible.
Silence fell again, and Marigold knew sleep would keep avoiding her. Abandoning the pretense, she watched Norm watch the room, his eyebrows furrowed in thought.
Half of her still doubted she had truly stumbled into an actual Vaultie. And from Vault 33, whose door she occasionally passed by during her hunting routes. Pristine, no signs of ever being forced open... She had always wondered if there were still people alive inside.
Now she had her answer. She just hadn't expected someone so... Small.
Granted, most people looked small next to her, but still. At first, in the dark, she almost had thought he was a kid; the pinpricks of facial hair against her hand and the voice had said that nope, adult man there.
And one of the neatest she had ever seen: the dark hair still combed, nails clean and trimmed...
"It's the suit."
"'m sorry?"
"My suit. The Vault suit. It attracts attention." Norm rubbed the leather wrists of the suit between two fingers.
Marigold couldn't avoid a small smile. Fast learner. He should be fine in the Wasteland as soon as he found his way of doing things.
"Not in itself. Enough Vaults went to shit and were scavenged that a bunch of suits roam around, but some people may know that 33 is not one of them."
"People like you." He frowned more at her, letting go of the sleeve, and Marigold shrugged.
"The door is in my hunting routes and there is no sign of ever being breached."
Norm nodded, still pensive.
Marigold tapped a finger against her thigh, lips pressed in a line; from where they were, her home was in the middle of the route to Filly, and she did had some things, scavenged and hunted, she needed to drop off with her parents and younger nephews and nieces before travelling to Filly.
Chewing on the inside of her cheek, she watched him some more.
Searching his sister. She thought there was more, but she wasn't about to point fingers and demand answers, people had a right to their secrets.
With half a dozen siblings, by blood and adopted, wandering the region like her or living farther away, hunting and scavenging and trading, she understood the uncertainty. The fear that something had happened. The only difference was that she knew exactly where her siblings were and how to find them if they weren't.
Fuck. Just last month her parents, all three of them, had said she was as sappy as all the rest of the family. She had really been thinking the “sappy gene” had jumped her.
Letting her head fall against the wall, she looked at the ceiling instead of Norm. It allowed her to notice that the cracks were starting to be illuminated from outside. She better do her offer, they didn't had much time to get moving.
"I could take you to my family. They'll have something you can use to cover at least your back. And, fuck, enough merchants pass by that someone might have heard something about another Vaultie, it would be safer than getting close to the Brotherhood."
Marigold looked at him only when she finished.
Norm was frowning so much that she bet he would get a headache.
"... How can I be sure you're not just attracting me to a better place to slash my neck or that your family is a bunch of cannibals or whatever?"
She could see he was serious, but there was just enough of a drawl in his words that it sounded slightly sarcastic. It was literally the only reason she didn’t take offense on the “cannibals”: human meat was sometimes used as bait by them, but never as food.
So Marigold allowed herself to grin back, raising both eyebrows.
"Naw, it would be a crime to slash open someone so cute." Her eyes slinked across Norm for a moment, don't bothering to try and decipher his facial expression, and yep. No fucking weapons. That suit didn’t allow much space for such. God damn it.
Sighing, she pulled a sheathed knife from inside her boot and extended towards him; she had enough knifes that giving one away wouldn't be that big of a problem.
Sappy indeed, giving away a weapon to someone she had just met in exchange for absolutely nothing. Thank God no one from her family was close, she wouldn't survive their teasing that she was finally a Whole Bear.
She also hoped they wouldn’t discover this, or the teasing would happen anyway.
"Here. Even if you decide to part ways. Knives are the most useful thing out here."
Norm took the knife gingerly through the handle, frown smoothing a little.
"... Thanks."
Marigold looked up again, natural sunlight starting to enter in full.
"Day is breaking. The Wastes will be a little safer now." She got up, turning off the oil lantern. Hopefully nothing would've had messed up her trap in the last hours.
---------
Norm would've liked to say that he had actually grappled with the option Marigold had presented for a long time, uncertain about his safety and her intentions.
It had actually just taken the time for him to unsheathe the knife and confirm that, despite the old blood-stains, rust-red against the brown leather of both handle and sheath, the blade was well-kept, sharp, bigger than the kitchen knives he used in the Vault. Useful. She could've killed him, but hadn't, and when confronted with "what ifs" regarding his worry about himself, gifted him a weapon, no strings attached.
Maybe it would bit him in the butt later, but for now... Well, she hadn't killed him yet.
Marigold had already left, the door not totally closed. Norm went after her, blinking and squinting in the bright light.
"Who would imagine that actual sun is such a pain..." He used the arm not holding the sheathed knife to try and protect his eyes.
He heard a laugh and turned his head, arm still raised.
Marigold was just a few steps ahead, half turned, smile in her lips, the sun bringing forth golden undertones to her skin and hair.
"I gather you didn't arrive during the day..."
Norm shook his head, lowering his arm when his eyes got used to the light, and closed the door of the shambling house. Marigold leaned her head to the side, still watching him.
"Are you coming?"
"You actually know how things over here work, so yes." He approached, storing the knife in his sidebag.
Marigold's smile got bigger and he slipped into walking besides her.

HuskerDust Sinatra playlist (to be updated)
Given Husk and Angel's time when they were alive, Sinatra's songs would no doubt fall into their mutual category of favorites. I believe Angel would very much like Sinatra's crooning considering Sinatra's melancholy voice, him being also Italian and having alleged connection to the Italian mob. Husk spent so much time in casinos so surely he knew all of these songs like the back of his hand.
Below are the songs that I find would fit well into their inner thoughts and stages of their relationship. When Sinatra sang, he didn't just sing a song, he was telling us something from his heart which I imagine is what Husk wanted to say to Angel and vice versa (and there are duets :))). You will see that Husk was allocated more songs than Angel. This is because I firmly believe Husk is the more sappy and sentimental one in the relationship.
Who knows :)) these songs might inspire some fanfictions. Whatever you imagine, Sinatra can provide :)))
One song might have different version sung by Sinatra. The ones listed here are the most fitting in my opinion. These are all youtube links because some came from nice musical films/music shows and some aren't available on spotify.
The pining stage (sprinkled with some self-loathing/insecurity in case they didn't think their feelings were mutual)
Husk
These Foolish Things (Remind Me of You)
These foolish things remind me of you You came you saw you conquer'd me When you did that to me I knew somehow this had to be
It could Happen to You
All I did was wonder How your arms would be And it happened to me
Half As Lovely (Twice As True) (or Husk's insecurity about himself being just a washed-up drunk while Angel could have anyone he wants, also mention of Angel's facade. This is the perfect song :))))
I'm only one of those who thinks of you and sighs, Just another who knows your laughter and lies. I wish that you were someone who was half as lovely, twice as true. I love you, I love you, too much it seems, for any fool can see, With your heart so crowded with other dreams, how can you dream of me?
Bewitched
I'm wild again, beguiled again A simpering, whimpering child again Bewitched, bothered, and bewildered am I Couldn't sleep, wouldn't sleep Then love came and told me I shouldn't sleep Bewitched, bothered, and bewildered am I Lost my heart, but what of it?
Angel
I Don't Know Why (I Just Do)
You never seem to want my romancing The only time you hold me Is when we're dancing I don't know why I love you like I do I don't know why, but I do
I fall in love too easily (This fits Angel so well)
I fall in love too easily, I fall in love too fast I fall in love too terribly hard, for love to ever last My heart should be well schooled, 'cause I've been fooled in the past And still I fall in love too easily, I fall in love too fast
Glad to be unhappy
Unrequited love's a bore And I've got it pretty bad But for someone you adore It's a pleasure to be sad
Prisoner of Love
Alone from night to night You'll find me too weak to break the chains that bind me. I need no shackles to remind me, I'm just a prisoner of love.
The confessing stage
Husk
Zing! Went The Strings Of My Heart
Dear when you smiled at me I heard a melody It haunted me from the start Something inside of me, started a symphony Zing! Went the strings of my heart
Then Suddenly Love (I can imagine Angel kick the door open :)))
I never heard bluebirds, the songs that they sing, I never get crazy, not even in spring, Then suddenly love struck me like lightning, Love it blew up a storm, Love suddenly grabbed me, and ooh, was it cozy and warm 'Cause I found you, now I no longer just exist, Ooh, what a change, it started from the time we kissed
Angel
I Get a Kick out of You
Some they may go for a cocaine I'm sure that if I took even one sniff It would bore me terrifically too Yet I get a kick out of you
I've Never been in Love before
I'm full of foolish songs And out my song must pour So please forgive this helpless haze I'm in I've really never been in love before
Husk and Angel
You're Awful (A silly duet confession of love :)))
Husk: Those words that everyone knows But my thoughts gets mangled, And all the words get tangled, But since you asked me, here goes: You're awful, awful good to look at, Awful nice to be with, awful sweet to have and hold. You're nothing, nothing if not lovely, Nothing if not dazzling, nothing but pure gold, You're frightening, frightening me when you say That you might go away, You're boring, boring into my heart to stay. You're cheap, dear, cheap at any price, dear, Cheap for such a diamond, Cheap for such a pearl, What I said before, I'll say again, You're awful, awful nice to be my girl. Angel: You're old, dear, old with worldly wisdom, Old like Gorgonzola, old like finest French champagne, You're so-so, so-so, so-so kinda charming, So-so kind of witty, so I can't explain, Husk: Can't stand you, I can't stand you giving some fellow the eye, Can't stand you in the arms of another guy, Who needs you? Need you to distraction, Need you too this crazy, need you rain or shine, Both: I'm the one who needs you, And I think you're awful, awful nice to say you're mine.
The dating/domestic bliss stage (sprinkled with some angst/couple fights)
Husk
[How Little It Matters] How Little We Know
Who cares to define what chemistry this is? Who cares, with your lips on mine, how ignorant bliss is? So long as you kiss me, and the world around us shatters, How little it matters, how little we know.
I Could Write A Book
If they ask me, I could write a book About the way you walk and whisper and look I could write a preface on how we met So the world would never forget And the simple secret of the plot Is just to tell them that I love you a lot Then the world discovers as my book ends How to make two lovers of friends
That Old Black Magic
Those icy fingers up and down my spine The same old witchcraft when your eyes meet mine The same old tingle that I feel inside And then that elevator starts its ride And down and down, I go 'Round and 'round, I go Like a leaf that's caught in the tide
Too Marvelous for Words
You're much, too much, and just too very very To ever be in Webster's dictionary And so I'm borrowing a love song from the birds To tell you that you're marvelous Too marvelous for words
Polka Dots And Moonbeams
In my frightened arms, polka dots and moonbeams Sparkled on a pug-nosed dream There were questions in the eyes of other dancers As we floated over the floor There were questions but my heart knew all the answers And perhaps a few things more Now in a cottage built of lilacs and laughter I know the meaning of the words? Ever after? And I'll always see polka dots and moonbeams When I kiss the pug-nosed dream
Witchcraft
'Cause it's witchcraft, wicked witchcraft And although, I know, it's strictly taboo When you arouse the need in my My heart says yes indeed in me Proceed with what your leading me to It's such an ancient pitch But one I wouldn't switch 'Cause there's no nicer witch than you
Dear Heart (Husk waited for Angel to come home from work)
Dear heart, wish you were here to warm this night My dear heart, it seems like a year since you've been out of my sight A single room, a table for one It's a lonesome town all right But soon I'll kiss you hello at our front door And dear heart, I want you to know I'll leave your arms never more
Husk and Angel
We Just Couldn't Say Goodbye
We thought that love was over, that we were really through, I said I didn't love her, that we'd begin anew, And you can all believe me, we sure intended to, But we just couldn't say goodbye. The chair and then the sofa, they broke right down and cried, The curtain started waving for me to come inside. I tell you confident'a'lly the tears were hard to hide, And we just couldn't say goodbye. The clock was striking twelve o'clock, it smiled on us below, With folded hands, it seemed to say, we'll miss you if you go. So I went back and kissed her and when I looked around, The room was singing love songs and dancing up and down. Now we're both so happy because at last we've found That we just couldn't say goodbye.
Kisses and Tears
Kisses and tears, it's up to you If we laugh or we cry through the years Unless you trust me, whenever a doubt appears Your future with me will continue to be kisses and tears You're crying again, you're sighing again Can't we patch it up this time? I guess it's alright, we've finished our fight It's just about kiss-time
Nothing in Common
Our two goals are apart as the poles are As lovers our roles are completely miscast Let's make a clean break And not take any chances 'Cause outside of thinking you're something divine And outside of wanting your lips close to mine We've got nothin' in common We've got nothin' in common at all
How Are Ya Fixed for Love
How are ya fixed for someone to watch the rain with? To stroll down the line with? For someone to just go a little insane with? How are you fixed for memories? Memories that shine so bright? If we let fancy take us We could make us a few tonight How are ya' fixed for someone who'll fit your arms like a glove? Hey, tell me baby, how are ya' fixed for love?
Bonus: Sinatra's Loser, baby a.k.a Here's To The Losers
Here's the last toast of the evening, here's to those who still believe All the losers will be winners, all the givers shall receive Here's to trouble-free tomorrows, may your sorrows all be small Here's to the losers, here's to the losers, here's to the losers Bless them all!

do you happen to know any site building tutorials to follow and learn from? been having a hard time finding a place to start with my own neocity but the free reign and customization of them interests me a lot :0c
ABSOLUTELY! I do want to stress one thing if HTML/CSS is something you're not familiar with: It's okay if your website doesn't look like the most creative, eye-popping thing in the world! I've seen sooooooo many people get so discouraged because their beginner websites don't look like the flashier websites you see on Neocities' front page (by people who've been coding for a Long Time, mind you!) and like!!! That's fine!!! The code of my own site was quite possibly the worst thing you've ever seen thrown together into one big CSS soup before I Literally Just Rewrote It Today, After A Year Of Having A Neocities. And so, with that being said:
As anyone on the internet might do, w3schools is the absolute first place I'd recommend to beginners! There are videos, it's mostly a text-based learning site with lots of exercises to test your knowledge. If you'd prefer videos:
My personal favorite guy on Youtube to learn coding things from is Giraffe Academy: Here's his full course on HTML! The video itself is about two hours—I skimmed through it and everything seems to be perfectly oriented towards beginners (I haven't watched it in its entirety, but I have seen his videos on C# and Python [programming languages, don't worry about it] and they did a lot to help explain certain things to me that I didn't know previously!).
BroCode's HTML in 1 hour and CSS in 1 hour are pretty good! His videos do include a little bit on how to implement some JavaScript here and there, but nothing major or terrifying.
Here's a playlist of HTML/CSS tutorials in bite-sized videos, too! Think about 10-25 minutes per video.
I will say that searching for YouTube videos on HTML/CSS will always sort of gear more towards what people in the professional sphere are looking for rather than what you'd see on Neocities.
As for Neocities-specific things (which may be the actual point of your ask! Might've misinterpreted the hell out of it oops):
sadgrl.online is perhaps the most known website on Neocities, largely because the website itself not only has a layout maker you're free to use if you want to make a website now but the thought of writing HTML/CSS from scratch terrifies you, but also HTML/CSS guides themselves! There's also a bunch of links you can use to help fluff up your site a bit, generate HTML code for you, or just fluff up your site in general.
The Melonland Project is also dedicated to providing website development tools and tutorials for beginners: here is its guide to making a website on Neocities! It also provides a link to learnlayout.com, which I'll link here as well—a website for helping you learn CSS layouts!
And, once you've got the hang of how CSS works but are still feeling unable to code it yourself (no ideas? just not feeling up to it? FUCK MAN DO I UNDERSTAND THAT) Eggramen has free CSS pages you can use, and all you have to do is write the HTML for it!
But I would always focus more on learning HTML first before any CSS—and then learning how to integrate CSS into HTML via inline styling (which those video tutorials do!) before worrying about any external stylesheets or whatever. HTML is the actual building block—CSS just makes it look pretty.
#'site-building' tutorials will almost always lead you to like. coding bootcamps and stuff for companies#the nc-specific links should be more help in just building a site on nc!#anyway. hope to god i didn't misinterpret this question HAHA#asks

So you've answered an ask about your top 5 songs 🎶 before and I kinda wanted to know which songs impacted 2024 for you? 🎵 Doesn't even have to be 5.
also HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎊🍾
Well, first of all have a happy new year yourself, anon! Secondly, I'm actually flattered you like my music taste? Read More because... long.
- The Moon Will Sing - The Crane Wives | fits one of my OTPs very well and like, just listen to it? the flow, the lyrics, the melody - kinda love at first listen. - Curses - The Crane Wives | another banger, very catchy beat imo and of coure the lyrics. - Allies or Enemies - The Crane Wives | was/is still fitting to personal circumstances, also enjoy the flow/melody. - Zukunft Pink - Peter Fox ft. Inéz | german! was pretty popular in 2023 and as most things by Peter Fox the lyrics are #deep (no seriously, you can also find a fun diss at Elongated Muskrat in there) - Nachbeben - Alligatoah | german! another #deep song that tackles our exposure to the increasingly toxic social media landscape and what it does to our heads, also the music video and beat! - WEISSE ZÄHNE - Alligatoah ft. Bausa | german! two of my fav rappers, Alligatoah tried his hands at a heavy metal rap album and while it's def not 100% real metal, much less heavy there were some great songs on it and this is one of them. about eerily fake people and their perfectly 'white teeth'. IRL fitting. - A Dangerous Thing - AURORA | everything she puts out is great in some way or another, it's just that this applied IRL so it's on this list. - Espresso - Good Neighbours (cover of Sabrina Carpenter's) | I wasn't too hooked on the original and after landing on Sabrina's cover of 'Good Luck, Babe!' I ventured out to see if there were any covers of her songs and jfc, it's so... catchy? so very different? very 2010ish vibes. - The Night We Met - Lord Huron | according to Youtube Wrapped I listened to this song over 9k times and that's kinda concerning. not sure how that happened but suddendly I could only listen to this song. also fits one of my OTPs and I'm still super into them so... well, how about a comeback? been a while. - Heavy - Linkin Park ft. Kiiara | personally fitting. - Neunzig - Apache 207 | german! just a fun song that doesn't take itself that serious. - Was weißt du schon - Apache 207 | german! about growing up and living in a certain way of poverty, our 'ghettos' are called blocks (der Block) and it's specifically refering to those 8+ stories tall buildings that are mostly social welfare apartments. tiny, dingy, crowded, crime, foreigners, immigrants - you know. - Therapie - BRKN | german! for one I love his voice and secondly, the theme/subject fits my reallife. about admitting your not doing well mentally, slowly becoming a bit unhinged, recognizing your own toxic traits and even becoming more toxic towards your partner. well, it's called 'therapy' after all. - 100km/h - Bausa | german! about sticking together through tough times, about the ups and downs in life, not recognizing yourself after a while, yearning for love. again fitting. and I LOVE the harp in this, it's a special version and I def like this over the og version. and another case of 'the voice' for me. - Bullet - Hollywood Undead | this definitly got ample playtime in 2024. - Good Luck, Babe! - Chappell Roan | this was what got me hooked, I only started listening to her on the literal last day of August and then she took over my playlists. her voice is just... WOW. the vibrato, the flips, her range, everything! especially the way most of her songs are very 80s/90s vibe-ish which is just my thing. - Red Wine Supernova - Chappell Roan | already wrote a paragraph, also listen to her live recordings because those studio records don't do her voice justice. - My Kink Is Karma - Chappell Roan | didn't hook me at first but then it just clicked. can't never not do the 'YOU' flip when I listen to it. - Too Sweet - Hozier | at first I completly got the message of that one wrong, took me a few listens to go 'uh wait a sec lmao'. regardless, this year I fell down the Hozier rabbit hole and jfc, I missed out on so much! not sure why I didn't follow him after 'Take Me To Church' came out because THAT definitely had me hooked back then. also IRL applicable. - Nobody's Solider - Hozier | great song with a strong message. I'm sure there'll be more Hozier on my playlist this year.
Honorable mentons: - Caravan Palace, just got into them again oof ♥ electro swing, that direction if you're inclined - Lone Digger - Caravan Palace (I believe I've read that they're doing pretty much all of their sound effects themselves and not with sampling etc? also they sound SO GOOD live.) - Hozier in general, the music feels very healing? personal? idk but it's nice to listen to, like really listen to the messages of the songs. - anything AURORA, same as for Hozier but her music just feels good and her approaching so many different issues and topics with her songs ♥
Once again thank you for the ask, I had a lot of fun putting this together! This was the post they were refering to btw.

Not Sims - Just Reign
So I binge watched the final 5 episodes today and... I am emotionally compromised. See below for my ramblings and how I attempted to make album art a decade ago.
If you clicked keep reading I'm going to assume you don't mind reading my rambles so I'm just going to indulge myself here. I need to process and getting it out helps me process.
I first saw Reign during my final year of High School and fell completely in love. Quite aside from English History being a special interest for me at the time, Adelaide Kane and Toby Regbo were so gorgeous. Honestly the signs that I'm bisexual were right there but it just did not click.

If you're my moot you will know by now I am a massive romantic. So of course I would get invested in the Mary Francis love story. Thanks past me for routing for Francis from the start, smart choice.
The outfits took my breath away, as did the wonderful landscapes. I fell in love with everything Mary wore and tried to find a graduation dress that was as close to something like that as possible.

The music! I loved every track they put with the episodes. Shout out to that one youtube channel that was posting full versions of the songs. I have a playlist with the music from the first two seasons and have listened to it on loop so often. There was a website that would post screenshots of the episodes and I would copy paste and make my own album art. Not to do anything with, they were solely for me to see when the songs came up on my iPod.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4f7258ea974f9a5195041c3b320e5028/7c0d80c9e55de20b-53/s540x810/5e1a5cb3b0ef3192254c601f889ba0e74805147a.jpg)

BUT I only watched the first two seasons before I took a break. History wise I knew Francis would die before they had a child, but the end of season 2 seemed to announce his death was approaching and my romantic self could not handle it. So over the next few years I rewatched the first two seasons plenty, and continued to listen to the music. I tried to watch season 3 in my first year at university, I really did. But things were different back then and I could only find low quality episodes because legitimate streaming services were in their infancy, if they even existed.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a47b6f3bb640f6235dc73bc36f261a8d/7c0d80c9e55de20b-7b/s540x810/01a2e078dcddf1389543040b11b46dd1999df380.jpg)

During my post grad diploma I would take a train part of the way to my placements. It was on the train that I happened to catch someone watching Reign on their phone. Not just any part of Reign either, the recap that shows Francis dying and Mary saying goodbye to the coffin. You bet any progress I had made towards being able to watch it was reset.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9d1cec37bdc64673460519a893689a0c/7c0d80c9e55de20b-3a/s540x810/a326da2b4dedd2dd51e50fba37dfdf90e1361434.jpg)

Following the worst of my depression, last year I began to feel a proper interest in things I love again and I wanted to see Reign to its conclusion. So I got myself the DVDs for season 3 (I don't have netflix, plus I like having physical copies of things) and worked my way through. Since I hate spoilers I didn't want to read the blurbs included in the cover so I never knew which episode Francis would die in, I was happy he was in it for so long. The whole plot with Francis having made Mary a sword for taking back Scotland made me love them all the more.
I gifted myself season 4, the final season, for Christmas. I've been watching it in bits and pieces. I have this thing where if something is ending I try to hold off the ending for as long as possible. But today I was so under the weather that I did watch the last disc all in one go.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/20e76f24ce80028583bdde66d5e2a2ef/7c0d80c9e55de20b-16/s540x810/568cccaaf3d990b22d6b2e313cbbbe17b1f4e832.jpg)

Side note, Rizzio. I can't believe that actually happened! But wikipedia says it did. It really sounds like something a drama show would make up.
I've always known Queen Mary was executed for supposedly trying to kill Queen Elizabeth. I wasn't sure how Reign would tackle that. I figured they would do a flash forward or do that text over screen thing. I love neat endings but my heart could survive not seeing the end of Mary. I begun the final episode, saw Toby Regbo's name in the starting line up and immediately teared up. If he was in the episode then they were certainly going to show her death. Those end scenes, they made me happy and sad all at once. I loved that Francis was there for her, and I loved the flashbacks through their life together. Damn did it make me cry though.

The main characters have had a place in my heart for a decade. So heck yeah I'm grieving the loss. I know I'll watch it again, so it's not a permanent goodbye, but it's tough to see the end of anyway.

11/07/2023 || Day 48
React
It's time for React! Honestly, after constantly googling what React even was for the past 2 months, it finally solidified in my brain that React is a JS library used for building UI. I know everyone says it, but it finally just clicked with me and I feel like I can finally start to understand it. I started watching a youtube playlist on React, and each video is split into short 5-10 mins segments on a specific topic. I got through 9 videos today, and tried to mess around in React on my own to see if I remembered what those 9 videos covered (plus, I wrote notes while watching so it would hopefully solidify that info). The one problem I have though is that these videos are 4 years old now and React has obviously updated some stuff, so I guess I'll be finding out the new ways of how things work as I work on projects. Speaking of, might do a Frontend Mentor project using React to get more familiar with it.
It's a little bit funny to me that React builds UIs using components, because in my last semester in school we had to use C# and Blazor to create a Library System, and I think the main thing about Blazor was that we can use components. But... none of us had any idea what those were so we didn't use them as they're supposed to be used. But now I'm thinking that if they're anything like React components in how they're meant to be used, knowing how to use them would've made our work a lot easier and less tedious/repetitive. Oh well, it's always fun to look back to see how you could improve something.

Hello,
It's so nice to see you back here. What are your thoughts on views whether YouTube, Twitter likes or even Spotify numbers? I am a big fan of BTS with Jimin and JK as a bias but still a big fan of the band. I tend to check Twitter a lot and came across a lot of posts of JJKs saying Jimin is so unpopular because his views are super low blah blah blah. Not that I care as much about these topics but it kind of made me think. Right now on Twitter, JJKs are dragging JM because of his performance last night which by the way was amazing. But most of their drags are around views lol because they couldn't criticise his singing or performance skills. Well some of them tried going down that route but it didn't really work since he did amazingly well. But now they are dragging him for views because apparently he can't get people to like or watch his stuff. To be honest, I used to be Taekooker with both of them being my bias when I first started my journey with BTS. I used to be in the fan circle and they always used to encourage us to report JMs videos/playlists, told us not to watch any of his content or engage in any of his content. I remember being encouraged to donate money to buy things for the boys (not music related) but it was defs there. I also remember getting annoyed at JM because he always got attention. He somehow always created noise and the annoyance and irritation was encouraged by these fans. But as I got to know BTS members, I stopped shipping which completely changed my outlook. Even when I was a Taekooker, I had always noticed Jimin getting the views and making noise so I don't believe he is unpopular. I notice his popularity even within the music community that might not know K-pop. But these views chat made me think maybe I have just thought he was popular because antis also tend to talk about him a lot. Like it is bizarre that his views seem to be some of the lowest in the group including his Spotify stuff. What are your thoughts on this?
Hi anon!
I think you're asking the wrong person here. This is not something that had any importance to me and I also don't follow or take into consideration such metrics. I know a lot of fans do and some of them might engage in various activities to reduce or multiply those numbers, I don't know the ins and outs.
If Jimin's popularity matter that much and ends up being put into question, then I find that a bit ridiculous. Isn't he the one known for bringing in the fans? I can give myself as an example. Perhaps that's an old argument, but I can also look at the marketing team of this really famous movie that reached out to a big fandom by having Ryan Gosling gifting Jimin a guitar. This is closer to reflecting a reality than some shippers/solo stans are talking about on twitter. I think Jimin's good.

Genuine question, what made you an atiny?
so this is a little bit of a long story, and it's all wrapped up in how i found kpop, because prior to the fall of 2021.... i didn't like kpop at all. it was mostly not knowing it and assuming i wouldn't like it, but i had pretty much no exposure.
i met up with a friend from school that i hadn't see in years, and she asked me if i would give her an hour of my time to see if i liked some of the music. i did, and then that turned into hanging at her house and getting a 12 hour kpop music video knowledge download.
she's not super into ateez, but she did show me them briefly. specifically she showed me their kq fellaz dance videos and their kingdom performance of the real. i remembered *really* liking them, but not remembering their name in the information overload, so much so that i asked her about them later by saying "who were the ones who were like professional dancers you know the ones" 💀
fast forward a couple of months, i'm casually listening to kpop but still not really into any groups or anything. kpop in general had just become another spotify genre, but genuinely.... i kept thinking about the kq fellaz dance video but didn't know how to find it again without typing "kpop dancers" into youtube and you can imagine how well that went.
i did start to know ateez's music though, and was drawn to it in the playlists i had. one night i was paying a friend through venmo, and saw in my venmo feed two random people i used to work with (like YEARS ago) paying each other, and their venmo description was "ateez tickets 💸" - i immediately googled and saw that they were playing in newark a few days later and then jokingly i messaged the girl who got me into kpop about it. she bought tickets in the nosebleeds, and suddenly we had a fun kpop concert to go to. i didn't know what to expect AT ALL, and i watched relay dances trying to remember their names so i could keep up at the show.
i essentially went into that concert fully blind, with the exception of knowing some songs and finally, FINALLY remembering their names. i walked out of that venue three hours later a full blown atiny. i started writing aurora a few weeks later and haven't looked back since.
to be honest.... i'm really, really glad that my introduction to them even in 2021 was still their kq fellaz performances. for me, it says a lot about ateez that those videos caught my attention so hard even when pre-kpop chai really couldn't care at all about kpop or boy bands etc. etc.
as an aside.... as far as biases go..... in the beginning i was so fixated on san when watching the music videos and relays.... but i distinctly remember hearing yunho do his little spiderman bit at the concert and it just made me laugh. i kept looking at him throughout the show, and then a couple weeks later on valentine's day they posted their little atiny chocolate bar photos and i realized i was only looking for his.
#and the rest is really history y'all know#sometimes i can't believe ive been here and in love with them for over a year#and i've seen them in concert THREE TIMES????#it's amazing i love them i love it here#answered anon#about me

First off, I'm ashamed to admit I was too startled when I got the flirt option to actually click it, lol! I kicked myself immediately because I really wanted to know what they'd both say! And then, d'oh, of course, I remembered that Youtube exists and went looking for this!
I'm actually surprised at his response, I thought he'd laugh his head off at Sara or something but daaaaaang, Drack, what was that octave drop when he said "property damage?" 👀🤔😂
I love Drack, I just didn't expect to get the option to, you know, loooooove Drack, lol! 😂
I'm staying strong for Jaal, though, and YAY, we finally got a hug and he invited me to meet his mother, so PROGRESS. It's almost romancing time!
Jaal's ready to get his flirt on, yep. *nodnods* 😂
I'm nearly 90 hours in now and have done almost all of the side-quests so far. The hardest ones are the ones without any waypoints or indicators to let you know where to find a series of data pads or whatever. But I've decided to try to get all of them since I'm this close! Here's the benefit of doing lots of side-quests:
All my current worlds hit 100% pretty quickly, yay! My plan has been to established forward stations as soon as I move into a new area (since the weather or conditions are inevitably trying to kill you, so having a forward station to retreat to is very helpful) and to get the Remnant vaults working as soon as I can. *points to the part where the planet is inevitably trying to kill you* Then I work on the missions, tasks and quests without worrying that I'm going to freeze, burn or be fried by radiation. 😱😎👍
I've made good time on things, I think. Mainly because of my "prioritizing forward stations and vaults" strategy and just that I've gotten better at driving the NOMAD (I only had Cora scream, "RYDER, LOOK OUT!" one time -- and, to be fair, I was accidentally driving us off a cliff to our deaths on the asteroid with low gravity but hey, it was just ONE TIME *proud* 🤣😎👍). I've found a good load-out for my gear that suits my style as well: a Kett nightstick-looking thing for my melee weapon and a Widow sniper rifle and Hesh shotgun to give me power at both distance and up-close.
Vetra is my ride-or-die, I always bring her no matter what the mission, and Drack is excellent when you need a heavy hitter (don't fight one of those frigging ginormous Architects without your one-Krogan army!). I've got everybody as upgraded as possible so Cora is great at reviving everybody's shields, which has proved really helpful. And then I bring Jaal if I don't need heavy hitting or shield regenerating because, honestly, I think he gets a bit of cabin fever being left on the Tempest too long, lol! I love how he complains that he hates Kadara but if you keep finding him there and talking to him, Sara eventually will ask why he doesn't just stay on the ship and he pauses before saying that he's afraid he'll miss out on something. I love that he first appears to be this hulking alien warrior dude and then you start realizing he's actually very insecure about a lot of things. It's refreshing, honestly. 😍
Of course, now that I see Drack as a love interest option, I may have to change my playthrough plan...
*gigglesnort* Okay, so I know that he's not a romance option, but I do think it's way too much fun to get the option to flirt with him!
I really embarrassed myself in that barfight, BTW. I'd let Sara egg that dude on but I wasn't expecting a DODGE prompt to pop up and didn't have my hand on the controller so Sara got totally sucker punched. 😱 I reloaded a save point and redid that section because I couldn't let Drack down like that. You could tell he was so disappointed in me! 😐😉
Annnd that's my Mass Effect: Andromeda update of updateyness for today! 💃😁👍
#mass effect: andromeda#mass effect andromeda#nakmor drack#sara ryder#jaal ama darav#sara ryder x jaal ama darav#this is my game tag#mass effect andromeda update of updateyness#video game#ageless aislynn

spotify wrapped ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤? (or just those you feel like if this is too much)
(Using Youtube links because I prefer to give you the whole song link.)
❤️: The song that deserves to be #1 but isn’t.
youtube
Easily one of my most recent favorite songs. I feel like I listened to this way more than Spotify says I did! I get it stuck in my head often and just...Matt Maher...is one of my favorite artists in general. His work always hits so good. I jam out to this so regularly and it never fails to lift my mood.
🧡: The song that you were most surprised to see in your top 10 (or top 100)
youtube
I have zero memories of listening to this enough to get in my top 100. (Nothing in my top ten is a surprise). I mean don't get me wrong, I love Lord Huron, but I don't even recall having this on any of my main playlists!
💛: A song that does not deserve to be listened to as much as you listened to it
I don't really have a good answer for this (they all deserve to be listened to!) but I think I'll go with another song that was a surprise to see in my top 100.
youtube
I didn't recall either the artist or the song by name but I definitely recognize the song. It's one of those I vibe to while making art a lot.
💚: A song that gets you
youtube
easy easy pick :)
💙: A song that you are embarrassed to see in your top 100
I don't know that there is one? I think the closest I come to is just how high up this one is on the list
youtube
I hate the discourse(tm) around Taylor Swift and dislike always feeling like I have to explain myself when it comes to her music. I like her lyrics. I like the stories she tells in her songs. Yeah, musically she's average, but I do love her poetry.
And this one slaps me in the face with To Partake feels. It's a big Elrond @Gil song.
💜: A song that is associated with a very specific place/time/situation for you
Most of them, really! But let's go with this one:
youtube
This is The Celrond song. No one can convince me otherwise. I know I say a lot of songs are The Celrond Song. But forreal this one. I have loved this song ever since it was released but if I think about it too long in context of Celrond I start to bawl like a baby.
🖤: A song that has strong 202(3) vibes (interpret that any way you like)
youtube
This is my top song for the year, and I get why.
This year has been a lot of healing for me from a lot of shit back in 2022. 2022 got very dark there for a while. This song, to me, is about catharsis and finding connection again, and that's what this year has been about for me.
Spotify wrapped meme
#cw long post#thank you for sending all of these in!!!!#I had fun!!!#it's funny absolutely none of these songs are from my top artist lol#my top artist this year is sleeping at last#and that absolutely doesn't surprise me#he's peak writing music for me

Subathon Over!
After 55 hours, my subathon comes to a close! There's a lot I learned from this experience. The first is that I'm able to do it, so that was a huge confidence boost! Even though, I found mild success with my subathon, there's a few things that I was upset with as well...
The first thing was that I was sick, so that was a huge upsetting part for me. I wasn't able to be 100% at full entertainer mode since I still had to focus on being healthy. That means a lot of the more physically demanding things were not possible. So no karaoke, no Ring Fit. I even had forcing push-ups/sit-ups/squats as an incentive. I ended up doing them, but it was the most I could do.
Another thing was that even with an active chat, I ended up feeling very lonely. I wasn't able to interact with my friends outside of the stream. The only few times I was able to was during BRBs and just before going to bed. Even on waking up, I immediately had to check on the stream to make sure it was still up or that no hate raids and trolls decided to cause trouble.
There's not much time for other people when tending to an "always on" stream. I was only able to speak to another person once through the entire 55 hours, which was after a friend raided my stream and I openly invited them to join since they weren't planning on going to bed afterwards. I didn't even speak to family at all during the whole thing.
Food was also a huge issue. From my experience with the stream, time was precious. Time away from the stream meant losing retention and potential contributions. I always felt like I was in a rush to get things done. Because I was sick, I also constantly needed water to refresh my system, even more than usual to help recover from whatever sickness I caught. I wanted to eat bit more substantial meals like pasta and chicken, but those are things that you can't just set on a stove and come back to. I didn't have roommates or family that were able to help or cook for me, so that was a huge struggle.
My advice if I were to ever do this again, and to anyone reading that's looking to do a subathon, is to make food ahead of time. Make a huge pot of chili in a slow cooker, get a rice cooker, buy family sized lasagna that take like 1hr30 to cook in an oven. Depending on the success of your subathon, DoorDash could be your friend. In my case, I wasn't able to justify DoorDash or any other delivery service. The only outside food I got was Taco Bell, which was an incentive, and not by choice.
Another huge issue was finding ways to keep the stream active with clear info. I definitely feel like I should have prepared a bit more beforehand, but I was unable to make the proper preparations due to being basically bedridden up until the day before the start day. I would have gotten a YouTube playlist set up for when I slept and set up labels that could let people know what the next incentive was. I think the worst thing was not having moderators able to help. Because everything had to be done by myself. Changing titles, tracking incentives and rewards, removing troublesome users. I also unfortunately had an issue with the marathon timer, where I had to manually add time. A lot of the workload made it hard to focus on providing an engaging stream.
Even though I struggled a lot, I ended up creating a lot of fun and memorable moments. I would definitely try this again in the future, but with my experience on how I handled this, I would know a bit better on how to handle everything. My only regret was not being able to reach my follower goal during the event and having to dip into my own savings just to continue streaming while I'm in Japan.

I totally agree with this. I started watching random Pokémon playthrough and challenge videos on YouTube and, while I'm not saying I'd ever do a nuzlocke or whatever (I'm a casual gamer if anything), it's still interesting to watch. Like I got really into Mah-Dry-Bread's videos where he does crazy solo and team runs, usually Gen 1 runs with super weak Pokémon, or some kind of theme like using only gift Pokémon. He doesn't just play Pokémon; he does crazy challenges with other games too, like Fallout New Vegas with only recharging weapons and some Elder Scrolls stuff. He's also really honest about how YouTube works (like how he hardly ever takes sponsorships because he only wants to "sell" his viewers stuff he can be honestly enthusiastic about) and has an overall casual vibe (he has a running gag about telling people to comment "because comments are good for the YouTube algorithm," usually when he finds a Pokémon fossil, and often mentions in his outros that he's got to go make food cause apparently he's so busy he forgets to eat). He also prides himself on being the top streamer of this one Nancy Drew game (you know, those Nancy Drew PC games you find in like the bargain area of Walmart's game section).
Or Papasea who I got into via his "Playing Pokémon as Nintendo Intended" series where he finds official player's guides (the paper ones) for Pokémon games and plays games exactly how they say to, even if it doesn't quite make sense. (Some of the jokes from the first video, like saying to "hammer away" at the opponent or defeat them in "two shakes of a lamb's tail," have become channel staples).
People who make videos explaining how to do things in games really help me too. I have a whole playlist of reference videos for ACNH, cause I didn't get the game till a month after it came out, and I hadn't played any Animal Crossing games since the OG GameCube one (which I only played for like a week, quitting after realizing I couldn't keep up with the "game keeps going while you're not playing" mechanic on a console game, especially since I was in college at the time). I've saved a lot of ones for the more recent Pokémon games too.
I also have channels like Did You Know Gaming and The Gaming Historian to thank for educating me on older games I missed out on. Like I usually avoid shooters because I played one James Bond game in the past and sucked at it. But their videos on the Metal Gear series got me really interested (though to be fair, Metal Gear is more of a stealth game). So when the Metal Gear Solid remaster was announced last year, I was actually excited! Did You Know Gaming's Region Locked series, which covers games that weren't released in the U.S., is also pretty interesting.
The Gaming Historian, meanwhile, has introduced me to some crazy retro peripherals, as well as some interesting gaming history. When I discovered old Sonic the Hedgehog Game Gear games on the 3DS eShop, I used his video on the topic to decide which ones were worth it.
I also definitely applaud fansubs; I might not have discovered subtitled anime as early as I did without the VKLL Sailor Moon fansub tapes a friend lent me. It's also made some older and more obscure anime (and live-action stuff) more accessible. I was also involved with the Sailor Moon fan translation group Miss Dream from its earliest days, first just as a forum member, then briefly as a staff member, doing some English-to-French translation and even writing their error reports on the Kodansha USA manga release. I even appeared on their short-lived podcast to promote Myu Corner!
I also have fansubs to thank for introducing me to the Girls x Heroine franchise, a franchise of tokusatsu-style magical girl series which has a small following on YouTube. (I was looking on YouTube for live-action magical girl transformation references for a story I was working on, which led me to a video of an Idol Senshi Miracle Tunes transformation from a Japanese channel, which eventually led me to a fansub of Miracle Tunes that somebody uploaded).
Fan music is also an underrated part of fandom. I've seen some cool fan remixes out there.
There are definitely lots of ways to participate in fandom. Sure, I like fanart and fanfics, but I'm not great at art and while I do like fanfics, I haven't written any myself in a while (I did do some writing for one for Camp NaNoWriMo July last month, but I've been working on that one on-and-off for 11 years *nervous laugh*). So it's nice to see there are other avenues.
as a subtitler im incredibly biased as i say this but. shoutout to forms of fan labor other than fanart and fanfiction. fanart and fanfiction are awesome, don't take this as a dig at those, but i have a big appreciation for fans who provide closed captioning/subtitles/translations of works out of love n passion; fans who recap and explain aspects of the original work; fucking SPEEDRUNNERS, holy shit, shoutout to speedrunners and challenge runners in video game communities. lots of things that fall outside the scope of what comes to mind when people think of fanart/fan labor are integral parts of a healthy fan ecosystem

I'm lying here thinking about the first week I moved out and how it must have affected my son.
I was a hands-on dad from the start, at three months my baby mama (really never wanted one of those) decided that she was done breastfeeding and put the baby on formula full time. This meant that I could feed the baby too as well as change his nappy, the only thing I didn't do was bath time.
From then on I was on night time feeding duty on my own, because I'm a light sleeper I'd hear my son while he's still fussing and hasn't started crying and by the time he started I was already lifting him out of the cot and feeding him. The lights would be dim and when he was done with his bottle I'd rock him to sleep to soul music; his playlist was short Nightshift, Kiss and say goodbye, Never been to me and Soul to Soul in that order. Since I was quick to get to him when he woke up, his mother enjoyed a full night's sleep while I had to make do with a messed up sleep schedule; my sleep app was suggesting how to improve my sleep everyday, too bad there was no "I have a baby mode".
He grew up a bit and stopped fussing before waking up so I'd wake up to his first cry, scoop him up and go with him to the kitchen to make him a bottle. I took it as a good sign that as soon as he sees me start to make the bottle he'd immediately stop crying, then I'd give him his bottle.
He also grew out of the soul music phase and that where I discovered Mr Ballen and NCHammer23 on YouTube, while walking around with him to put him to sleep I'd listen to Nick and his videos had this calming music in the background that would put him to sleep.
We grew up learned to sit on our own and then learned to stand up using the cot and since the cot was at the foot of our bed he'd wake up now, not crying and just grab my foot and I wake up and get him out of the cot and we go have milk while listening to stories.
I wasn't just the night buddy, his mother had gotten into the habit of putting him in my arms if he cries for any reason and when he came back from spending the day at his grandma's cause I had to work he'd crawl to me, I'd put him in my lap and he'd turn off my PC and laptop.
We were close and he started going to daycare instead of his grandma and when he returned he was always happy to see me. I'd also fetch him from day care and we'd play cocomelon and sing along to the songs till me got home.
Then it happened, his mom called it quits, the reason was that my money didn't match hers and I had to go, which brings me to the week I was imagining.
Him walking in back from daycare looking forward to seeing me and I'm not there, he'd probably brushed it off knowing that if I'm not there when he comes back then I'll show up later and the night comes and still I'm not showing up. He goes to bed and at 00:45 he wakes up looking for milk and he probably called out to me cause since he can remember I'm the late night milk guy. His mom is a deep sleeper probably had trouble getting up as quickly as I did, he is panicking, where is his father with his milk.
His mom gets up and goes to make the milk, does she take him with as I did or leaves him in the cot and he climbs out and follows her and asks "mom where's dad?" Does she give an honest answer? He has his milk, drinks it and falls asleep.
He wakes up the next morning, I'm an early riser so he usually wakes up climbs out of the cot bed and come finds me working on the laptop. This time he wakes up and the house is dark, there's no light from the lounge where I usually work, dad is not here.
How many days and nights did he go through before he realised that I'm not there?
My baby mama told me of a scene that just breaks my heart imagining it.
Him standing by the window saying "papa come" to the outside; I can see him standing on the couch, calling to me and I don't show up.
It just breaks my heart.

MY VIRTUAL SINGER SONG TIMELINE
I wanna make this as a little story about my earliest connections to Vocaloid/Virtual Singers and how it all led me to loving them.
#1 Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/97ca86f1c16d0ee2209465cfbfb75004/e5e7fd3d8c21e520-a3/s500x750/cb21aaf34762d6a4f4f1b5e2eca92ff5064b0d9a.jpg)
Without a doubt, this was the first. All those YouTube videos and internet memes, it was the "Nyan Cat song" of course! But... in reality, it was actually a Miku song, but super sped up. I and many others wouldn't know, so my jaw DROPPED when a friend hovered over the song in Project DIVA, but that wouldn't be until much later. While this wasn't my true start, it would be a long journey.
#2 Senbonzakura and LOL – Lots of Laugh –
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ce7d5ef9c342ee4c211ecd6cf78d76dc/e5e7fd3d8c21e520-f7/s400x600/62f794481de91779f1e3837392ef737d99967a0e.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/edb1db2b7dfe81350cb249b7311a28ed/e5e7fd3d8c21e520-b4/s400x600/f87a4e9e26bf6d157eceac409a84e119ad4da611.jpg)
Maaany years later, and here I am! My first actual exposure to Hatsune Miku! I'd download a ton of 3DS demos to play, and Project Mirai was one of them. These two would be burned into my mind forever. I even remember going out of my way and searching them up on YouTube, and being amazed by the visuals on arcade/PS4!! I now understood the most basic concept of Miku; someone who sings. I don't remember why I liked this though. I must have seen it as a cute game, with cute songs and fun visuals. But, that would be it. I'd eventually delete the demo, forget about the songs, and move on... but not before...
#3 Kagerou Daze
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ab15ea888ada52c2d673647bb0918128/e5e7fd3d8c21e520-24/s540x810/2aedc5f5297f4a2e3eca7bdeed37eb3c9da31a7c.jpg)
The first song I encountered on my own! I discovered it while looking at videos of Senbonzakura and LOL, so this was around the same time as that. It was this animated one in particular that I saw the most! I believe I did see the Project DIVA music video, too. I just found myself so enthralled by this, it was so different from the cutesy songs I was just listening to. It was such a heavy feeling song, but the pacing made it so fun to listen to. A feeling that would return later... I listened to these 3 songs a lot, but yeah, I just stopped and didn't really bother looking for more.
#4 Tokyo Teddy Bear
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9f9b24444f67f8f72a5ccc9fac8968eb/e5e7fd3d8c21e520-ed/s540x810/386baaaae19faba1619f4d378f0501de597e3265.jpg)
Once again, more years would pass, but this was it. I was having a VRChat session with friends, and one of them put on some virtual singer songs. I didn't really care or pay any attention to them, and just chatted or drew. That is until they put Tokyo Teddy Bear, the Kasane Teto cover. I completely stopped what I was doing and just stared. It was like my friend's voices disappeared and all I could see and hear was this song... and it's visuals. And when it ended, I asked my friend to play it again, and again. It was kind of funny, as they pointed out how I looked just standing still and staring. He showed me some other Teto songs, like Teto Territory and that Fukkireta song.
Afterwards...
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f775eac3f146e8ba8e8d966c86147f80/e5e7fd3d8c21e520-ba/s540x810/0226e477f66129ba113f4622aae4d355c122490c.jpg)
I was OBSESSED with Teto. My PFP, reaction gifs I'd send, and non-stop talking for about a week straight. I was so happy to find something I liked this much. And that's when my friend showed me Project DIVA Mega Mix+!! I've come full circle. From there I liked even MORE songs, and after a day or two of him showing me the game, I bought it alongside the DLC, and bam. Vocaloid/Virtual Singer lover forever. Got Project SEKAI, downloaded Project DIVA and Mirai on my PS Vita and 3DS, and got a few merchandise.
I've never felt this obsessed with something in a long while, I think my last thing was Persona 3 back in high school. It's really fun though!! Listening and finding all sorts of new music, seeing the music videos, building my playlist, sharing it with others. I definitely skimmed through a bit, but music means a lot to me. And this form of music is just so amazing to me, a near endless supply of songs to listen to. It makes me so happy. Even the most depressing songs make me happy, because I have something to listen and connect to when I'm down. I love using music as a coping skill !!!!!!
Thank you for reading if you did!!!! This is more of a personal post for me to save >_< My love for this will keep growing :3

FOB LORE POST Pt. 1
okay so tumblr ate the original ask i was responding to and now refuses to save/post all the edits i’ve made, so this post has to come out in two parts. i’d rate it surface level-knee deep lore (maybe some waist deep, maybe some neck deep idk we'll see)! i'll be focusing on pre-hiatus just cause post-hiatus is generally easier to find (but there will also be post-hiatus because i can't help myself). also curated to my tastes these are things that *i* always think about, so big disclaimer this is not everything. this part basically covers the fob extended universe (terms/people to know, blog links, and important texts here and there), links to unrealeased tracks/rares/covers, and a rundown on the origin story.
so here's some basic things to know:
FBR- Fueled by Ramen. baby's first record label. also host to a bunch of other notable acts from the scene.
FOBR- easy to mix up. literally just falloutboyrock.com, their website. hosted journal entries, updates, the webstore, and more.
Decaydance- record label owned by Patrick and Pete under FBR, founded in 2005 when Pete wanted to sign P!ATD and realized he didn't have label to do so. AWESOME ORAL HISTORY FEATURING PETE, TRAVIE, GABE, AND SPENCER. intro to Decaydance (included in article). relaunched as DCD2 in 2014.
FOE- friendsorenemies.com, let's do a quote about this one: "If you’re one of those types that have uttered the words, “I’m their biggest fan” in reference to post-punk popsters Fall Out Boy, then you’re in luck because there is a site where like-minded people can hang out. Honda Civic Tours has joined forces with Friendsorenemies.com, to create a user-generated worldwide fan community for the Chicago-based band. The site includes dozens of up-close and oh-so-personal videos of the band, along with exclusive, unscripted content that gives an extensive behind-the-scenes look at the Fall Out Boy’s latest tour… because pop stars shouldn’t have any privacy or down time." they have a youtube with SO MANY videos here (check out their playlists, they have a bunch of fob specific ones.
OCK- Overcast Kids, fob's official fan club, usually got exclusive content, merch, pre-orders, and more. you'll see some blog posts where pete makes references to overcast kids referring to the fans.
Fuck City- essentially Andy Hurley frat house/collective/brand. he has Fuck City tatted on his knuckles. there's primers out there i'd search for "Matt Mixon primer" and you'll probably find some livejournal links.
Clandestine Industries- Pete's clothing brand. there's a whole dvd about his collab with nordstrom and in it he states he wanted to aim for "unisex," if i ever found a rip of this i'll link it here. meanwhile here's a video about their landmark store. video that was on the site. 2010 fashion show.
Pete’s blog entries (best viewed in browser). there's also this masterpost (hint, if some links don't work in this, especially for fobomatic, try amending the url to "fobomatic-blog," and it should pop up). and this tumblr: @disloyalorderofpete
Joe’s blog entries
Patrick’s blog entries
important text: “We Liked You Better Fat: Confessions of a Pariah” written by Patrick post-Soul Punk, and kicked off talks of coming off hiatus between Pete and Patrick.
important text: “Fall Out Boy Forever” by Hanif Abdurraqib
important text: “The Boy With the Thorn in His Side” by Pete (his first book), you can read here, just scroll to the bottom to start: @clandestineindustriespresen-blog
important text: to you (unfinished, off the top of my head) arguably one of the most important Pete blog entries (to the fans and to ME at least)
you'll see some names around, so here's a few touring friends and crew you'll want to make note of: Charlie (security), Dirty (personal court jester and whipping boy, he seems to like it, i want to do a study on him, he has Pete's initials branded in his ass- Pete did it himself with a hanger), HeyChris (i'll probably give him is own section), Nick Scimeca (i've never really clear on him, i think he acted as web designer/bestie, but i know for sure he lived in the dirty ass tttyg apartment), Hemingway (Pete's dog), Matt Mixon (Andy's bestie/fuck city roommate). primary ones to know are bolded.
HeyChris: okay Chris is important because he was in Arma Angelus and was fob's first supporter, caught the name HeyChris through grenade jumper (which they wrote for him!). he tours with them for awhile, i *think* doing crew duties, running the merch stand, being one helluva hypeman. QUITE A DYNAMIC with pete. part of the World's Most Hated Crew which were crew members primarily shared between mcr and fob, who had bad reputations for 1) their proximity to the bands 2) being scene kings/queens 3) gossip and drama. 2006, he and Pete have a massive falling out over their blogs. since then they've made up, still talk every once in awhile. he runs the catcade in chicago and emerges out of the woodwork to stir shit up every now and then. here's his livejournal. and another one. he also has a tumblr. so go hunting if you want. most of his updates are through instagram, he loves to troll.
list of movie references in songs
because it's referenced so much i have to include the drunk history, but be warned it's Brendon, and a whole lot of him.
here’s some of my personal fave unreleased/covers/features:
hand of god (some very uhm breathy whiny patrick vocals in this that i can’t believe are legal)
austin we have a problem (also horny vocals and for what)
star 67
we don’t take hits we write them (listen the amount of blood i would spill to get a clear recording of this song)
save your generation (jawbreaker cover)
basket case (green day cover live)
under pressure (queen and david bowie cover, patrick does both vocal parts and and it’s so cunt)
what’s this? (nightmare revisited: nightmare before christmas cover album and US SPOTIFY REFUSES TO COUGH UP THE ONE FOB TRACK, however i still recommend korn’s version of kidnap the sandy claws and rise against’s version of making christmas)
lullabye (hidden track on folie a deux written pete’s son)
catch me if you can
mr. brightside (killers cover which they did live a few times, which is extremely funny because pete and brandon flowers were feuding after brandon said fob and emo were ‘dangerous’ and ‘poisoning the minds of the youth’ and that he wanted to ‘beat all those emo bands to death’)
i write sins not tragedies
tiffany blews bridge ft. patrick vocals
patrick covering i can make you a man from rocky horror
patrick feature on one day i’ll stay home by misery signals
patrick features on cupid’s chokehold and clothes off! by gym class heroes (these may be obvious to some but i’m including just in case and also because they slap)
patrick feature on one of THOSE nights by the cab, brendon jumpscare warning, but patrick’s vocals literally made me fucking insane here, also the amount that pete is featured in this video is so funny to me
fob feature on the hand crushed by a mallet remix by 100 gecs (the way i fucking lost my mind when this dropped)

some fun extras:
there’s also this fun little behind the scenes video for cobra starship where patrick is singing city at war
this uncomfortable video of patrick and pete singing womanizer with ellen degenres
this video of fob at the inaugural dinner for obama where they have light up instruments and patrick starts off i don’t care with a little snippet of womanizer (very cunt) which also has a part 2 where pete climbs a tree and they meet the president ajbdjdksndnd.
fall out boy on teen titans go: part 1, part 2, song
deep blue love (patrick wrote this for a movie! and it makes me need to lay down) "behind the scenes" here
patrick song in star vs. the forces of evil
patrick theme for spidey and his amazing friends
patrick musical episode of dead end paranormal park (most of the patrick demos are uploaded as well)
patrick features on robot chicken, also here's the uncensored version of blue rabbits fucking
you can also look up their rare/unreleased songs and get a whole lot more than provided here, and also patrick has done so many covers it’s wild there’s a playlist on youtube that’s 130 videos long and includes bangers such as this is how we do it, let’s dance, in the air tonight, kiss my sass, fob covers of we are the champions, don’t stop believin’ and more.
NOW. as far as origin stories go. let’s start with pete who was a notable figure in the chicago hardcore scene, having been in bands on bands on bands, and very notably RACETRAITOR. pete, joe, patrick (i still haven’t found the source for patrick but it’s on wikipedia so i’ll include him) and andy have all at varying points played in racetraitor, and andy still plays with racetraitor when they get together. joe and pete become friends, joe driving him around because his license is suspended, and right around that time pete starts ARMA ANGELUS and when heychris can’t make it on tour, pete convinces joe’s parents to let him fill in on bass and they all go out on the road. when they come back, arma’s kinda its last leg and this is when pete and joe start talks for a pop-punk project. joe will play guitar, pete will play bass, now they just need a drummer and a singer.
so very important lore here, joe’s hanging out in borders when he’s interrupted by none other than one patrick stump who starts a lecture on music to which joe starts lecturing back, THIS IS HOW THEY MEET. i’ll let joe tell it (click for full view):
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a85e307e19f4a67d7419b4c30451c82b/b78ca2df3e8ddedb-d9/s540x810/0d1b61a1fc59ea1c829af9bcc8e434d5c57c543a.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f52c91268bc7191704ad84d7e9758963/b78ca2df3e8ddedb-bc/s540x810/6b3e15bbe4b499737907d188f3bbedd9d319cb23.jpg)
this continues into another important bit of lore, which is that joe dragged pete to patrick’s house so he could audition and patrick answered the door wearing a sweater, shorts, and socks. this is important, it comes up time and time again, patrick answered the door in an sweater, shorts and socks. it’s important. to both me and pete. he proceeds to show them all his talents, but when he sings, that’s when it clicks and everyone in the room says you’ve got a massive set of pipes there, you’re our singer. now, patrick didn’t care about singing, in other bands he had primarily focused on drums. but he wanted to be in a band that would let him write music and he also had admired pete from afar on the scene and so he agreed to sing.
they finally pull andy when they start recording seriously and their drummer can’t make it so they ask andy to fill in. andy at this point is a notable drummer in the scene, like he plays in so many bands and is referred to as “the metal drummer.” pete and andy have known each other for a long while and they've had their eye on him since the beginning, it's just that he's in various other bands and going to school so he hasn't had the time. but they ask him to fill in and everything just falls into place. i’ll let patrick tell it:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/758cc96e2ae29d0ddbb413dc1dcec82e/b78ca2df3e8ddedb-a1/s540x810/e79e55ce122e929918ae7aae421466cdb1fb6a63.jpg)
and they've been the same lineup for two decades now (outside of fill-ins every now and again for emergencies etc). as legend goes, they had switched out names quite a few times, fall out boy being one of them, referencing the character from the simpsons. one night they came out, said "we are [insert long drawn out complicated name here]" and a fan yelled "fuck that! you're fall out boy!" and they have been ever since.
