Hello friends! So last month I realized that one of the reasons I'm struggling to get my writing back up to my old speed is I am seriously out of practice since Dec/Jan when shit went down and I stopped writing for a while. After some thought, I decided I was gonna set up a little prompt challenge for myself, just a general, 'here's a prompt a day' thing for about a month. And I tossed this idea out onto my fave Daredevil discord server to see if anyone would want to join. And I'm happy to say there were takers, including some of my favorite writers in the fandom! So I've set up a delicious prompt challenge for all of us, and for anyone else who wants to take part.

For each day in October, there are three prompts: an 🌧️angst/whump prompt🌧️, a 🌻fluff prompt🌻, and a 🔥kink prompt🔥. Participants are free to choose which one of the prompts they want to write or make art of, or they can try to incorporate two, or even all three prompts into a single fic or art piece. They can write a short fic/make art every day, or just on whichever days they feel like (personally I'm going to shoot for one fic a day, but we'll see), or even incorporate those prompts into the chapters of longer fics. There are also four 'backup' prompt options for each category in case anyone hits a day or prompt where they aren't really feeling what's available on the chosen day. If any of these prompts inspire you, you can feel free to take on the Tuna-Tober challenge even if you're not in the server! This challenge is also not fandom-specific (although I have a feeling I'm mostly gonna write Charlie Cox characters, a surprise to precisely zero people, but again, we'll see).

Sometime this week, I'll be setting up a sideblog specifically for Tuna-Tober. That sideblog blog will reblog any Tuna-Tober fics/art or link to those fics that are posted on Ao3 so they'll all be easy to find. to start off, like would you believe me if i said i’ve been a fan of the bengals for like a month :')) started ts during the week leading up to the first regular season game when jamarrs contract literally gripped me with the drama of it all. so for all my word vomit below feel free to fact check me ahaha

on the top of my head literally just two weeks ago. this 63 yarder jamarr and joe made that led to an mildly feral celly where they just. didn’t know how to act right and got made fun of for not doing a cool celly?? this insane anon ask i sent before i caved and made a sideblog was actually just my word vomit over it 😭. And also last weeks celly, a whole lot softer and more tender with jamarr skipping then walking straight towards joe who held his arms out for him? thats crazyyyy he was expected! he was welcomed!! he was loved!!! the way one of the fired up coach just let joemarr have their intimate little moment before slapping jamarrs shoulders in joy is also crazy to me 😵‍💫 and just this screenshot of that celly where they’re just wrapped around each other right in front of their sidelines. the fuck. watched that shit sick to my stomachhhh i had enoughhhh.

THE WEIRD CLOTHES PAIRING THING IS INSANE TO ME TOO. they do it in such subtle ways that you just think its a coincidence and you're delusional and it probably is but!! but??? they went to the game wearing yellow and purple (color coordinating lakers colors!! if i were on a date i would also do that cringy shit!!) that is also coincidentally lsu colors! another theory is they each chose to wear lakers colors without the other knowing of which this is just another case of soulmatism. the matching shoes during week 3! the sort of matching color schemes for their away game airport fits! last week both wearing rick owens apparently idk?? no idea if they've done this before this season btw i just got here lol. this is reaching ofc but very fun to think of!

how i would describe their relationship is ride or die with incredibly similar way of living by which i mean they live and breathe a sport they’re so talented in and they play to win and beat themselves up for doing bad in but also with the awkwardness of knowing they’re two vastly different people with different ways of seeing things and handling things but also even with that steadfast difference of being they also believe in each other in a truly outrageous way that it translates to them saying and being insane about each other (hence the list above) with little to no shame. (i hope this makes sense because im not reading all that over again wow)

like they’re so complicated to me!! by all means i don’t actually know these two or what they’re really like, but surface level they’re so different! their temperament is literally 180, joes cool and steady persona, incapable of being ruffled, closed off, moments of silliness he brings out only in certain situations, smart little quips he gives out at times like he can’t help himself vs exuberant open extroverted blustering to hide his shyness runs his mouth always down to fight jamarr chase. they couldn’t be more different! so how can they read each other so well? how can they run routes and plays with minute changes whilst running from men trying to take them down between one heartbeat to the next? how is it that jamarr is so down bad for this man that he can just say the shit he does about him? how much trust does joe have in this man that he shuts down every bad shit anybody tries to tell him or coax him to say? something about /always/ choosing the other despite everything is always a thing that attracts me to a ship.

also after that infamous kc game shove, i definitely think they had a very tough heart to heart where jamarr maybe spills his full feelings over the contract and how he hasn’t been getting the ball to actually make big plays and how his worth as a wr1 is being brought to question and joe probably spills on his own feelings on how jamarr held out so long and had last minute (?) changes of playing that week one ramps up joes own anxiety and hang ups like i definitely feel like he had some unchecked anxiety over playing with his wrist that first game that jamarr probably said something incredibly insane yet uplifting about in response. the next game its like they mended some unseen frayed stitch of their connection! first drive banger of a 41 yarder td for jamarr, two tuddys for the game in fact lol!! joe gets him his deep ball, then the insane way joe rushed at him after his 63 yarder in the next game, its like that first touchdown against minnesota again. i just wish the very best for them, to keep making these insane passes and insane runs they've been making since lsu.

anyway i feel like a lot of my rambling is for jamarr sorry 😭 he’s like a drug to me such an interesting person i base my thoughts around him. AITA for inquiring after a blog that got deleted?

This happened several months ago and my friends have told me that I wasn't in the wrong, but my stupid anxiety keeps bringing it up and saying actually they only told me that because they like me. Maybe the judgement of strangers will finally get my brain to put it to rest. Repliers, please use she/her pronouns only for me, I don't like being called by they/them.

I'm keeping this vague to respect the privacy of the others involved; if you somehow recognize the situation, please do not give further details. Feel free to ask for clarification if something is confusing, but I will not be providing additional information like what fandom it was as I believe that would just risk revealing who was involved, and I can't think of any additional info that would affect someone's judgement of what I did. I would like judgement of what I did without risking violating anyone else involved's privacy. Also, sorry this is so long. It's the ADHD. I hate it too.

I'm relating the dms involved as closely as I can, but they won't be word-for-word.

I follow several roleplay blogs in the same fandom. One day I noticed one that I particularly liked seemed to have been deleted. I wasn't sure if they'd made a goodbye post I didn't see before deleting or something, so I made a post asking if anyone knew if something had happened with their mod, as it seemed to come out of nowhere to me. No one ever interacted with this post, but I have no way of knowing if people saw it.

I messaged a blog that I had seen interact with them a lot asking something like "hey, do you know if something happened with [blog]'s mod? I noticed they had deleted and was wondering if something happened." They replied with the single word "no" and I thanked them and apologized for bothering them. This one word was the only thing they ever said to me. I took this to mean that they didn't know if anything had happened, but didn't try to investigate further. I was vaguely concerned that they seemed to have suddenly disappeared without anyone knowing, but it wasn't my place to try and dig things up.

A couple days later I was scrolling back through a different blog and I noticed an old post they'd reblogged from the person who deleted's sideblog, and the sideblog had also been deleted. I sent a dm asking something like "Hey, I noticed [blog] and [sideblog] were both deleted, and was wondering if you knew if the mod was alright" and received a response just saying that no one wanted to make what happened public, least of all the mod. I thanked them for responding, apologized for prying, and said I hoped things were alright, then deleted my post asking if anyone knew what had happened, so that people couldn't stumble on it, get curious, and try and pry themselves.

Very shortly after, I received an anonymous ask scolding me for prying into the mod's business when they wanted things kept quiet and continuing after being told no. I posted the anon and explained that I hadn't meant to pry - just was wondering if things were okay - and that I must have misinterpreted that first "no", apologized if I'd made anyone uncomfortable, and made it clear I would absolutely not ask further. That was the end of it, at least as far as I know.

I think I might be the asshole because: I didn't know the mod, we'd never talked beyond their answering some of my asks, but I asked people about them anyways. I was genuinely wondering if they were okay and was careful not to ask what happened, but I know I can have trouble finding the line between normal and nosy, and maybe messaging two people was too far, even if the first person seemed to not know anything.

I think I might not be the asshole because: I wasn't asking for details on what happened, I was just wondering if they were okay or if I'd missed a goodbye post, and backed off immediately after being told it was private. I don't think it's really my fault that I misinterpreted the first person saying "no" to me asking if they knew if something had happened, since I thought they were literally answering my question.

Again, please do not try to figure out who was involved in this if you think you recognize it; I just want my brain to stop turning this damn situation over and over and maybe having strangers judge it will do that.

i honestly don’t even know where to begin with this post, so i guess i’ll start with hi! sorry, i’ve been gone so long, though probably most of you didn’t even notice i was gone lol. sorry for not giving any warning to my absence, and i am especially sorry to the mutuals who have reached out to me that i haven’t responded to. i was and still am struggling with anxiety and depression and towards the new year it was getting to be a bit much for me, so i decided to take a mental health break from social media.

i’d honestly been contemplating coming back, but today i received a dm from someone with a link to a post that was accusing me of bullying and creating fake accounts to bully other people in this fandom. first of all, i would like to emphasize that this is not true. attached below is a screenshot of all the blogs that i own (EDIT 2/9/24: i have since deleted the screenshot for my own privacy and i believe that since i made this post, there has been more than enough evidence to clear my name.) milfsociety is my main account, which i have linked before on this blog and many of my mutuals also follow me on my main, and the rest of them are just me saving my old usernames or other sideblogs that i rarely use, but all of them have been inactive for two months at least.

i do NOT condone bullying ever, and to be continually accused of it by this person is very disheartening. it started with this post (seen below) that i made back in november after seeing a post discrediting marie as the main character of gen v. i admit that my language was probably a bit harsher than was necessary, but honestly my intention was not to send hate to op (which is why i never tagged it with any gen v related tags) but to defend marie. it also wasn’t meant to be solely specific to this one person but as a general post because at the time, there were lots of accounts discrediting marie and to be honest, i was just kinda venting bc of how sick of it i was. (also, just to mention, i have intentionally left out their username because the last thing i want is to send hate to this person.) this was the only post i made on the topic and later i heard that apparently op blocked me afterward (which does not offend me in the slightest since i have since done the same thing) so this honestly should have been the end of it.

i honestly hadn’t given this post a second thought until a little under a month later i received this ask out of nowhere, accusing me of ableism and bullying. i replied to this ask, which i will link here. honestly this ask came as a complete shock to me, because i had honestly forgotten all about my previous post.

i responded to anon and in the reply i apologized to their friend for my hurtful comments and expressed that it was never my intention to attack anyone, especially anyone with a disability, which i did not know about when i initially made the first post. i also explained my side, stating why i made the post in the first place, which i still stand by. originally, i had linked their post in my reply, which in hindsight was a mistake that i regret and i should’ve known better. again, my last intention ever is to spread hate and negativity or to bully anyone, so i deleted the link when i was asked by a third party. this person has also since deleted that post about marie entirely.

shortly after i posted the reply, i guess i can only assume that whoever anon was told them about the reply. i’m honestly not sure if they’ve ever actually read this reply or not, but they made a response to my reply, accusing me of harassment and bullying. honestly, it really confused me at the time, since i’d only made two posts in reference to them, and one was a reply to an ask, but we ended up having a third party account who was mutuals with both of us acting as a mediator to settle things and i genuinely wanted to move on from the situation. we both had each other blocked and it seemed to me that anon was just trying to instigate more drama between us, so i thought it best to just leave it at that. i was also going through some mental health issues at the time (unrelated to this situation even though it didn’t help) and had been considering taking a break from tumblr, and so i thought it would be best to just go inactive for a while.

this is honestly the first time i’ve used tumblr in the two months since i’ve been gone, so i have no idea what else has been happening regarding any other blogs and this person, but apparently i am being named as the sole instigator here and i just wanted to once and for all clear up this issue and my name. i’m honestly not sure if this person will see this post or if they’ll even accept it as truth. i can’t force them or anyone to believe me as i really don’t know what else i’d have to do to prove that i don’t have any other secret accounts other than making this post.

okay all seriousness y'all, i didn't see the movie opening day, i would have but i have a toddler and all that jazz. what i did do is see it a bit after? maybe a week. and then right after july fourth i made this sideblog to post a fic that was supposed to be a fix it fic for the movie/elvis's life. i remember saying man i don't trust my brain to let me write fic because last time i did any creative writing ( it was rp but it counts, because that's how i'm good at dialogue ) was back in 2016. nothing could have prepared me for the whirlwind that's been this fandom and how it's ignited my creative drive and my brain to be quite honest. i've had some times when there's been a hiccup or two for me in here but for the most part, truly this is one of the best fandoms i've ever been in and it shows in just how much i've been able to write.

i've met some fantastic friends (shout out to my discord wives @butlersxbirdy, @ab4eva, and @precious-little-scoundrel and my in general bestest besties who i try and talk to every day who get their own nicknames that mama is too tired to write out @powerofelvis, @prompted-wordsmith, @blurredcolour, @eliseinmemphis, and @stylespresleyhearted and someone else who knows who she is.) never going to stop being so thankful to @floralcyanide for making the efc even if it died down the way it did. and to @missmaywemeetagain for pink scarf but being a great person to talk to and go HOW DARE U at and @thatbanditqueen for getting my distaste for transatlantic accents and to @be-my-ally for somehow being weirdly on the nose with your guesses/feelings on things. and i'd tag so many other people but i don't want to clog up everyone's notifs.

honesty this movie kind of changed my life. it's given me something to hold on to when things have gotten rough and it's joined the very few movies i hold dear that can instantly give me a pick me up. i've been reminded of how delightful elvis's music is and i've gotten to hear music from him i've never heard. it's- it's been a blessing and one i do really gotta thank everyone for.

Two main reasons. First it's because I wanted this place to be my happy place, where it's all about the joy, because irl I wear whatever the opposite of rtg is. And it was also about the bl bubble, although I didn't call it that in my head at the time. And I just like the expression. And I got a new name out of it so that's nice.

this is my sideblog. my main one I started years ago and wanted to keep it separate. this one is mainly for ql and occasionaly other asian dramas.

Hey, personal life update.

Yeah so I started to get to know this person from a fandom if you follow my sideblog you know which one. Ultimately this person and their significant others consistent mistreatment of me made me hate myself talking about milgram or doing anything. I was consistently stressed and anxious around them and in a state of hypervigilence/anxiety for several months. It wasn't just due to these two though. I also had issues in real life before getting involved with this fandom.

That friends know about already and can be picked up on from the ways I discuss media generally. Along with my general concerns when it comes to fandom. However, these people's just overall hopeless and ableist dsposition really only made my situation worse. As one would weaponize or site everyones diagnoses as reasons for their inability to do anything right. In a way that implied to me that nothing could be done about it because, well, you've got x, so it's better to not even try.

Came off as really just accept you're not capable of x because you're y. The other was just a conflict avoidant individual who ghosted me multiple times and left their significant other to speak on their behalf. Who told me and Star to just not talk to them. So that's what Star and I decided to do earlier this week. So why am I saying this. I'm not one to really regret my behavior and in hindsight considering all the personal shit I was going through I can understand why I was being so defensive and antsy about talking about or even doing anything I enjoyed.

Because it wasn't just fandom stuff, I really wasn't enjoying doing anything. Because I didn't know when or how this person would pop up or if things were fine when they'd just go to being shitty again. I do want to note this as a reminder to myself as what not to do in the future. While working out what caused it.

Honestly, the environment was bad, and the only thing I could do was try to get through it. I had no motivation to continue personal projects or share them. This impacted the idea to make videos out of theories, and I generally had no interest in doing anything. Plus, I was very actively suicidal for all those months. However, since having a more open discussion with Star and her looking over the ways these individuals treated me then going oh yeah that's fucking abusive block them.

I really felt unwelcome and at times downright harrassed in the fandom I was involved with. I was incredibly isolated, and whenever I wrote something on the thing, I was made to feel like I was committing a crime. These two didn't say things that made me feel like that, but their actions did things that made me feel worse. So, just noting as a fully grown adult with a good support system how fucking harmful, isolating, and demeaning people online can be. Along with the longterm and unseen impact it can have on a person.

Along with her helping me go through the process of cutting them off. I've been feeling optimistic about talking with others about the things I love and setting boundaries or stating how I would like to be treated. Something I was anxious about doing for a time because when I would state those things, it'd either go ignored or they'd seemingly actively do what I asked them not to in order to test my feelings for them.

I recognize this may just be how I feel about this or perceived it to be. Which is fine they could have a completely different perception. Yet it doesn't change the fact that their actions hurt me regardless of their intent. And I don't need an apology because the best apology to myself is not constantly feeling on edge, waiting for the next shoe to drop or to hear what I did wrong this time. And instead like talk about shit I like with people who don't treat me like trash because they don't know how to not do that.

But yeah, this treatment impacted how I responded to certain events in fandom and my lack of patience with others exhibiting the same behavior in a space I was trying to relax in. Honestly, I did my best in the circumstances I was in, which was under consistent immense stress. So, I'm proud of myself there. I guess I'm just disappointed that people really can just say I love you and treat you like shit. Actively watch how their behavior impacts you and basically celebrate that you're hurting because at least you're hurting together.

Some people really are just assholes to themselves and then perpetuate that treatment on anyone else they happen to run into. Sucks but I'm feeling better.

i genuinely cannot stress enough to you guys that most peoples actions in fandom are almost entirely divorced from any political meaning. or at least, they were, until people started acting like that was a sin actually and that if you liked this character or if you liked too many male characters and not enough female ones that means youre secretly a misogynist who just hates women so much because you don't post about them all the time

most of my fandom blorboposting ends up being about a handful of any random assortment of characters because that's who my brain latches on to, but that doesn't say shit about my feelings about any other character. specifically in bsd, i mostly post and talk about literally two of the characters WAY more than the others bc they are my favorites. this includes ALL the other characters, just about. most of my fanworks are for them and will continue to be for them because they are my OTP and my top two in this series.

why is this important?

because someone genderbending a male character or multiple of them in order to see a CHARACTER THEY ALREADY THINK ABOUT 24/7 AND LIKE A LOT AND HAVE A DEEP ATTACHMENT TO, as a woman, does not mean they don't love and appreciate the canon women. holy shit. that's what i was criticizing in the original post.

also like. most of the ppl doing the genderbending i see are either women or like, somehow woman-aligned, or wlw/attracted to women in some way, etc. and most of them are making these genderbends bc theyre attracted to the canon character. it's self-indulgence it's ALMOST ALWAYS self-indulgence guys it's FANDOM that's what it's FOR you CANNOT FORCE SOMEONE TO CARE ABOUT A CHARACTER FOR ANY REASON AND STILL MAKE AN ETHICAL ARGUMENT OUT OF IT JFC

it wasn't meant to be discourse on my end either. i was trying to offer an alternate reason or perspective of approaching what op seemed to think was an issue given the wording of the post, by offering my personal experience. i also never said op was wrong, by the way, my expression of disbelief was also put alongside me going "maybe it's just the people i follow" because i tend to follow people who, when they do genderbends, are also avid fans of the canon women too, they just like the men they're genderbending more. hence why they're doing that.

5. Do you respond to comments?

I try to but I always get really busy/tired and then it's been so long it feels like it would be weird if I did. Plus, sometimes my answers by nature of the comments can get repetitive and then even though I'm being sincere I feel insincere which sucks. However, if a comment has a direct question or something I actually have like, something unique to say about, I'm much more likely to respond sooner rather than later/never. I appreciate every single comment soooo much though literally my motivation to get through the day like 80 percent of the time

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I'm going to stick with Ted Lasso fics here since I have so many fics posted and this is my Ted Lasso sideblog and say... well, most of the time I have a bittersweet ending and then some sort of hopeful epilogue (such as with ink sunset and make a mess of you) but I guess betrayal's sting / absolution's balm or something to get off my chest may qualify?

Uhhh, honestly, most of them are happy endings. I think trick & treat and matters of the heart end on particularly high notes?

Oh, yeah, baby. So much. Not sure what "kind" means in this context. It sure is explicit smut. I have tended almost exclusively towards hot transgender sex the last few years because. yknow. hi. but somehow I don't think that's the intention in the question.

I do, but I haven't posted a lot. Only one on this account (a Gravity Falls x The Mysterious Benedict Society crossover that started as a joke because of a shared actress) although I had an interesting Shadowhunters x The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess fusion on my other account. I've written some pretty weird WIPs, though. And I've got some posts about Ted Lasso crossover/AUs, like a Sarah Jane Adventures AU, a Pushing Daisies AU, a Stardust AU... You can find that kind of thing in this tag on my blog.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes. Not in this fandom, though, as far as I'm aware.

Oh, man, I don't know if I can decide. Magnus/Alec (TV version only I'll die on this hill) will always hold a special place in my heart, but I've got other "obsessed with this when I was a kid" ships and also recency bias/current hyperfixation means Trent/Ted screams as an immediate answer, and so on and so forth. I'm bad at picking favorites. Overall, I'd probably say one of those two, or both.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Sticking to Ted Lasso again (I have. so many MBS WIPs. god.) I'd say lost sight of (who you are) (lost motivation, want to finish, fuck!!) or sweeter than heaven (hotter than hell) (got mad at it), or!! oh!!! ink sunset (stuck) and possibly the next installment of matters of the heart. Yeah, I have a problem

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I'm pretty good at being funny and also at eloquent but perhaps a little too verbose metaphors. I love me an elaborate metaphor

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

It's hard for me to focus and get what I have in my head out sometimes, even when I really want to. Whether it's being unable to organize or just my brain flat-out refusing to cooperate and do anything. Also, I'm way too like. easily discouraged with lack of feedback, and even a little negative feedback can kind of ruin my week and make me never wanna go back to that story ever again.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I just realized. The questions seemed familiar but I wasn't sure why and now I know, now that I've gotten to this question. I have done this game before and I remember bc of this question. I was confused bc it was under a different name, I think the questions were in a different order, and it was sometimes slightly differently worded but nope! This is the same one! Weird Anyway, just for this particular question, I'm going to copy-paste my old answer because I'm lazy. I’m extremely bad at linguistics in general, so if I must include someone talking in another language in my fic, I think I’d tend to cheat and do italics or some other indication that this is ‘in another language’ (ie “Where are you going?” she asked in Russian), but that’s admittedly a lazy approach. But I also think it’s probably better than butchering it with an auto-translator? Also, when people just include the translation in the end notes, even with a link (although that makes it marginally better) it breaks the flow of the story and makes it hard to read. Making an effort to at least match grammar is good (which I would do if it was for longer than a single scene, probably) but I think the best solution is when people know what they’re doing and like, have an actual translation with a little html code so you can click on it and it reveals what it means? Or if you’re clever, revealing what it means using context around it, but that has its own limitations. So that both like, uses the actual language and doesn’t break up the flow. It balances accessibility, flow, and respect for the other language in question well. But you’ve got to both know what you’re doing with the language (either asking someone/hiring someone/knowing the language yourself) and the html (although there are guides for that you’d have to spend time figuring it out + know it exists in the first place to look). And this is fanfiction, something we ultimately do for free in our spare time, so the lazy approach, I think, can be understandable. Maybe not in every context, but it’s not worth stressing a lot over in a few random lines or anything, you know? It is really cool when people do know a language well enough to include it properly in a fic, though, it can say a lot about a character or dynamic; and their background(s) and like. it’s neat :)

“Why, ladies, I want the book to be accurate!”, Varric chuckled after watching their played up reactions to his question. Hawke and Isabela were not the kind of people to ever get offended by any kind of sexual questions and Maker knows, these two felt no shame, even getting Varric to clutch his proverbial pearls occasionally. 

“Varric, you lie multiple times in the book”, Hawke said. 

“You actually also lie on our demand!”, Isabela added. 

He had called them up to his room in the Hanged Man, as he was currently working on Tale of the Champion and he finally got to the good parts. Less depressing tales of Hawke struggling with poverty, more love, more passion, more sex. And he knew how well sex sold. He wanted to get it right, he wanted to get it firsthand from his two favorite ladies in Kirkwall. 

For research purposes. 

Now they both sat on his bed, watching him eagerly as he explained the reason for their meeting to them. 

“Tell me how it went when you two first gave your bodies to each other in this unholy union.”

Both had pretended to faint, positively aghast by even the mere suggestion of talking about what the two of them did betwixt the sheets when nobody was watching. But he heard the stories. He heard them . Isabela’s room was right next to his and Hawke was vocal. 

He would be lying if he said that he didn’t like listening. He felt some sort of shame but he also knew these two and he knew that they wouldn’t mind. 

He also knew that they had been trying to get him to join them for quite a while now. He was sleeping with Hawke, although that was a plot he decided to keep out of his book. The one story he would never tell. 

Isabela had wanted to sleep with him for years and Varric would normally never turn down a woman like her but it didn’t feel right. To turn down Hawke but to sleep with her. Maybe he was a romantic after all.

He was also a little bit scared of her, frankly. He had heard the tales of what happened when these two absolute maniacs teamed up on someone. Blondie couldn’t walk properly for a week. 

Varric was content to watch. He was a storyteller after all. 

He needed the research, nothing more. 

“Oh, Varric, how much detail are you extorting from us?”, Isabela asked in a desperate voice, as if he was personally holding Bianca right up to her face. 

“I am not extorting anything from you, my beloved. I would never!”, he claimed, quill in hand. 

“Oh, no, but you are! Here we are, at the mercy of Kirkwall’s merchant prince as he is extorting us for personal intimate information! We are helpless!”, Hawke now said, dramatically falling back onto his bed, even mustering up a fake choking cry. 

“Please, I have heard you two talk about anal sex on the Hightown market in the presence of families and chantry sisters, don’t give me that now. Poor Daisy was shivering for weeks.” 

“It was probably blood loss from all the blood magic she’s been doing”, Isabela chuckled. 

“You hooligan, you rogue, you fiend , even”, Hawke continued and Isabela began to giggle. 

Varric rolled his eyes. 

“Alright, come on. I will share royalties with you.”

“And now he is paying us! Paying us for intimate information, oh, Maker why hath thou abandoneth meth”, Hawke cried out, shaking her fist at the ceiling. 

“Are you done?”, Varric asked. 

“I think so, yes”, Hawke answered sweetly, letting her fists fall back onto the mattress. 

Varric laughed and dipped his quill back into the ink, readying his parchment for his notes. 

“How did it start? What have you said to each other? Paint me a picture with your words”, he said. 

“So, it was after that job with that son of a bitch Lucky. We went to the Hanged Man - you were there, actually!”, Isabela said and now Hawke giggled. 

Always the giggles with these two , Varric thought and tried to hide the smirk on his face. 

“Oh, and you know me, I have an eye for fine booty”, she added and pinched Hawke’s thigh. 

“And there was something so darling about her. Like a little kitten who got lost. Do you remember how young she was, how fresh faced and innocent, unaware of all the horrors of the world”, Isabela sighed. 

“Don’t paint me as some old hag here! Also, I was aware of the horrors of the world, I am an apostate!”

“Shh, darling the adults are talking”, Isabela said and Hawke huffed. 

“So, she and I are talking. About that little expedition of yours and the job. We had some ale, we had some liquor, not a lot, mind you. Before you try to write this as a night of drunken passion, we were quite sober, actually.”

“Don’t you worry about that. I know how much the lot of you can drink before you become disorderly. Or, more disorderly than usual”, Varric mumbled as he wrote down his notes. 

“So we get up to my room. The room you barely ever mention in your stories. You know, that one”, Isabela continued.

“Yes, yes.”

“And I am telling you, the door barely closed and she was already taking my daggers! Threw them right on the ground! I jumped up into her arms and we fell onto the bed like this… Come here, sweet thing, show Varric”, Isabela said, purring the last sentence. 

It was then when it set in what Hawke was about to do with Isabela and she could barely hide the smile on her face. She tried not to play favorites with anyone, and frankly, it also depended on the day… the wind… how many times Anders said the word plight that day… but Varric and Isabela were truly special to her. Not that the others weren’t, but they were just… special. They were Varric and Isabela. 

Varric had the tendency to write and present himself to be smoother than he actually was, but Hawke knew the truth and she knew that Varric sometimes shied away from intimacy, with a look on his face that she could only describe as the expression of a frightened Halla. One of the reasons why Varric had always turned down her offers to have some friendly, platonic sex with him was his crippling fear of disappointing people. Hawke also thought that Varric was scared of being perceived in a way that he could not control, which was why he had the tendency to put himself into the position of the narrator. 

And she could accept that. She was happy that she finally got him to talk about his sodding feelings and she was finally allowed to kiss him, like she had always wanted. She brought up the idea of the two of them and Isabela once or twice but Varric had always chuckled and claimed he was scared he was not going to make it out of that one alive. Hawke read his body language and let it go. On his terms, then. 

This was a step in that direction and excitement spread across her body, with that familiar feeling of arousal stirring in her groin. 

Hawke turned to the side to give Varric a better view and let Isabela crawl on top of her, straddling her with those beautiful thick and soft thighs of hers. Hawke relished in feeling Isabela’s weight on top of her and almost instinctively, she put her hands on her hips. 

“So we land like this”, Isabela explained. 

“And I found two more knives!”, Hawke added, searching the leather straps of Isabela’s undergarments for the remaining small knives she hid there. 

She let out a triumphant “Aha!” as she found them again - Isabela delighted in putting them in slightly different places and telling Hawke that she would only touch her once she found all of the knives. It was like a reward. 

Hawke felt another small knife further in the back but she left it there, knowing that Isabela was planning something. 

“Good job, darling”, Isabela said sweetly, gently caressing Hawke’s cheek, coaxing a small sigh out of her. Hawke was nothing but pudding in Isabela’s hands. She couldn’t change it even if she tried, even if she wanted to try. 

Isabela now bent down, pressing her chest flush against Hawke’s and pressing a kiss to her lips. 

“So we go like this, right?”, Isabela said, turning to Varric who was eagerly watching them, quill still in hand. 

“And I say Oh, let me see what you are hiding under your coat ”, she continued, unbuttoning Hawke’s coat, the one she had been wearing ever since her father died. It was slightly too big on her, it had been too big on her father, hiding all of her proportions underneath leather, fur, belt buckles and leather straps. The red cloth she wore around her waist was just like a bow on a birthday present, ready to be unwrapped. At least, according to Isabela. 

Isabela swiftly undid all of those pesky belt buckles and leather straps and pulled the fabric aside, exposing Hawke’s ample chest to the two of them. 

“And then I say Oh my, how dare you hide this from the rest of us ”, she added, gently cupping Hawke’s breasts spilling out of her slightly ill-fitting corset. 

“Also, darling, I told you to throw that one out, it does not fit you properly”, Isabela reprimanded her and Hawke frowned. 

“It’s one of my favorites. It used to fit.”

“Yes, it used to fit when you were still starving!”, Isabela fussed and shook her head. 

“Before you got nice and plump up in Hightown”, she then added, playfully squeezing Hawke’s hips and pressing another kiss behind Hawke’s ear. Hawke hummed, leaning into the feeling of Isabela’s soft lips on her skin and resisting the urge to grind up against her as the arousal began to spread.

“And then, because she truly underestimates my capability of hiding knives on me, I do this”, Isabela said and pulled the knife Hawke had previously left there out from underneath her dress. Or shirt. Hawke still didn’t know what it was exactly. Sometimes she wore it with pants, sometimes she didn’t. 

“And then…”, she said, motioning Hawke to get up so she could reach the back of her corset and bringing the knife to the strings that were holding it together. 

“I cut this open because I know how expensive these things are when you cut them in the front but those strings are cheaper to replace and you don’t waste an entire corset, Varric. ”

“Hey, it was once and I bought her a new one!”, Varric defended himself from his chair and Hawke giggled again. 

She felt Isabela’s knife on her back and eagerly awaited the feeling of the blade whispering over her skin, touching her, maybe even nicking her skin once or twice but Isabela never applied enough pressure to fully put her knife into Hawke. 

The tight laces of the corset snapped as Isabela cut through them and she quickly tore it away from Hawke’s chest, letting her breasts spill out entirely. Isabela still had a firm grasp on Hawke’s neck, holding her up while straddling her, knife still in hand. 

It was moments like this where Varric wished he was a painter instead of a writer because no words in any language could ever describe the absolute beauty of these two women, especially when they were paired together. His gaze lingered on Hawke’s exposed chest, the pale skin a stark contrast to the soft pink of her nipples, the same color as her lips, as he had noticed a while ago. 

Isabela let Hawke fall back onto the bed and she cupped both of her breasts again, unable to fit them into her hands entirely. Her soft hands caressed Hawke’s nipple, slowly circling them. Varric could practically watch them perk up and a shiver overcame him, but he was only there for research purposes so he grabbed his quill and took his notes. 

“Are you still following?”

“Oh, trust me, Rivaini, I am”, Varric mumbled and he looked back at the two of them. 

Hawke’s cheeks were flushed and her lips were slightly parted, eagerly awaiting Isabela’s next turn. Varric could only imagine how much enjoyment Isabela got out of the fact that, while Hawke may tell them where to go during the day, it was Isabela who was in charge the second they were alone. 

He watched as Isabela quickly undid Hawke’s pants, throwing her boots across the room and exposing the rest of Hawke’s body to the two of them. 

Varric recalled the first time he had seen her naked. How much of her there actually was. He remembered wondering what he was supposed to do with all that leg he had there right in front of him. He also, although begrudgingly, remembered that Hawke was still able to tickle the sole of his foot with her toes while he had his head between her thighs. Varric also remembered seeing that soft, black hair growing above her pussy and he remembered his slight disappointment when she wasn’t as hairy as the dwarven women he had been with before. Almost felt like a nug. Why would he want to sleep with a nug? 

He watched Isabela gently touch Hawke’s thighs, coaxing them apart as she positioned herself between them again. 

“And there she was, entirely at my disposal. Big bad, thug-killing Hawke with the big mouth”, Isabela mused, once again gently touching Hawke’s sides. Varric could see her shiver ever so slightly. 

“Don’t talk about me like I’m not here”, Hawke said, her voice high pitched. 

“Shh, sweetheart. Right now you’re just a storytelling tool for Varric and me, alright? You don’t have to do anything”, Isabela purred again and Varric watched Hawke melt into his mattress, any kind of protest dying in her throat. 

“You’ll have to tell me your secret, Rivaini, she is never that quiet with me. She bites, too”, Varric said. 

“As if you don’t like it”, Isabela claimed and Varric shrugged. 

“Also, I am telling you. A woman’s touch does wonders. ”

“I am still not letting you touch Bianca.” 

“Not even right now when I am helping you write your book?”, she asked innocently, pouting at him playfully. 

“No, sweetheart. Not even now that you are helping me write my book.” 

“Oh, you stubborn little man, you”, she said dismissively and turned her attention back to Hawke. 

“Anyway, where were we? Oh, yes, so I look at her and tell her ‘ How dare you hide that from all of us!’ And she said ‘Some of us get cold, Isabela’ ”, she continued, giving an impressively accurate impression of the way Hawke talked. 

Varric dutifully wrote down that dialogue. Other details could and would change but he was a stickler for dialogue; he needed to get it right. 

“And I said ‘Then let me make sure I warm you right up, sweet thing.’ ”

And with that, Isabela pressed another kiss to her lips, lingering there for a moment as they both smiled at each other, before hungrily deepening the kiss. Something told Varric that this was not part of the show they were intending to put on. He knew the look of someone pining for Hawke but being too terrified of the commitment to actually say something - he did own a mirror. 

He noted down the kiss and then looked back up to watch Isabela kiss down Hawke’s neck, playfully biting her collar bone before dipping deeper and putting her plush lips on Hawke’s nipples.
