#i did like the pillars romances bc of how lowkey they were... and there was just enough to imply intimacy but not enough to entirely give

what did you think of bg3 romances?
I liked them... i only did shadowheart (leave shar version), lae'zel and gale and all three of these fulfilled my criterium of exploring the character's story deeper (leave shar sh's is mostly abt having fun and then helping her to pick up the pieces of herself she lost or never discovered after living in a cult, lae'zel's entire facade of a good and powerful gith warrior starts to crack as soon as she realizes what she truly feels, and gale's is very fitting and explores his own feelings abt himself and about his relationship to his own arrogance and thirst for power) they were all compelling to me in various degrees
bg3 romances also dont commit the sin (which many other games do) where they dont rly give your character handles to roleplay... many times your character in these can feel stiff and very passive and like they dont want to be there and it sucks every time... bg3 also gives you multiple different ways your character can be present too which is very neat....
having said all that i kind of dislike how much ppl focus on these romances but also ik most ppl palyed tav and not dark urge and bg3's story without that storyline is a bit too... bare... and ig ts an unfocused game that only rly gains that clarity thru dark urge so it makes sense ppl would latch into the more fleshed out romance storylines instead
