Alpine 'introducing' Bucky to music (AKA. Alpine Aggressively Breaking Out Into Song)

Alpine is little ball of sunshine and the type of person who uses music to reflect her mood

she has a little collection of speakers that she uses, each with their different strength

bucky normally hears it before he gets out the lift to their floor

its nice

it gives him a clue as to how Alpine's day was

and it's a regular thing to expect

if bucky had one complaint

just one

it would be that Alpine HAS to sing the songs

she wasn't a bad singer

no she was pretty good to be honest

it was that it was always so aggressive

it could be a love song and she's staring him down aggressively singing her feelings towards him

she's emotionally constipated in that department so it's the only time she actually has the guts to do it

the first instance of her aggressive love was a few days after they'd officially met

bucky was still going to therapy at this stage and to be honest he fucking needed it after this incident

he had just been watching tv in his bare ass apartment, sat on the floor when he heard the undeniable thump thump of one of Alpine's speakers coming through the door

Alpine ever the respectful young adult came barging in, a small portable speaker in her hand, oversized clothing and messy ass hair

she's obviously having a grand time, singing her songs and Bucky had stood up so quickly by now

she had warned him that now they were 'friends', she'd be barging in on him

to which he replied

"I will kill you."

and she simply said

"Bet"

now he hadn't actually done anything, only been ready to defend himself

every time it happened, he was worried he's on day actually hurt her

this girl fucking laughs whenever he gets in a defensive stance and claimed its 'exposure therapy' - bullshit he'd checked with his therapist but she was no help because she just teased him about having a soft spot for the youth

Alpine had been cleaning her place, when 'Unwritten' by Natasha Bedingfield came blaring through her speakers

she listened to the full song first, happily singing and cleaning when she wondered how Bucky would react to the happy tune

this man is so grumpy and hates life and people - he needs to feel the rain on his skin (pun definitely intended)

so rather than politely recommend the song

Alpine will force this poor man to listen to her song recommendations

Bucky's bare ass apartment means that she can have a little dance around whilst she (very beautifully in her opinion) serenades this 106 year old grouch

(if it had been raining she would have forced his head out the window lets be honest)

dramatic head turns and aggressive pointing at the very confused man

honestly, he's watching this little show thinking that if HYDRA had forced him to watch this he probably would have just behaved himself so that he didn't have to see it ever again

"are you done?"

"NO!"

replays the song until bucky has a noise complaint from their downstairs neighbours

Alpine has to buy dinner as an apology

Bucky defo tells Raynor in their next session

"She sounds like a nice kid, James."

"She's a psycho, Doc."

Alpine loves all songs, especially upbeat songs or songs that have a certain

spark

something that she can never forget or get out of her head if it randomly shuffles onto her playlist

yeah, she's screaming those

Bucky is terrified

one Halloween, Alpine and her friends decided to dress up as Bucky, Sam and Steve for their party

she's painted her left arm intricately to look like Bucky's using pictures she had of him

since it was hosted at Alpine's place, Sam and Bucky decided to pop over

Sam wanted to show Bucky what a party of a twenty year old looked like in the 21st century

man was traumatised

not by the loud music and LED flashing lights

the mess or the mass of bodies in barely there clothing

it was Alpine, dressed as him, singing this song

"IF I COULD ESCAPE!"

she is definitely drunk - so so so drunk

"AND RECREATE A PLACE AS MY OWN WORLD. AND I COULD BE YOUR FAVOURITE GIRL! PERFECTLY TOGETHER, AND TELL ME BOY NOW WOULDN'T THAT BE SWEET!"

her friend (dressed as Sam) was cheering her on as she stood on her coffee table, singing and swinging her hips to the song

Sam was laughing so fucking hard, he thought his lungs would actually collapse

"I KNOW I'VE BEEN A REAL BAD GIRL!"

Bucky could die

he would love to die right now

especially with Sam asking him if he'd been a bad girl

if the ground swallowed him up right now

he would be happy

Sam decides that he too could die after Alpine's friend joins her on the table, hand on her hip as they start shouting those god damn woo hoo's

it was on this day that Bucky decided that he wasn't particularly fond of this song

But Sam has already made it his ringtone and has a picture of a drunk, smiling Alpine dressed in this Halloween costume hugging a less than impressed but soft Bucky set as his profile picture.

the song came on again later in the night after the party had ended, leaving the trio and Alpine had convinced Sam to sing it with her

they gave Bucky a concert which he loved (despised)

he is still heavily traumatised from seeing a female version of himself screaming these lyrics

used it as blackmail against Sam

"One wrong move and I show the world that Captain America has been a real bad girl."

now Alpine adores upbeat, songs that she can sing and dance to

she will dance in the street quite happily (she's got the scary guard dog privilege that is Bucky Barnes)

but if theres one thing that would drive her

f e r a l

it's the opportunity to be dramatic

she could be having a great day

her relationships are going great

she got a promotion

she's making bank

it doesn't matter how good the day is going

when certain songs come on

suddenly she's just come home from a war that she's barely made it out alive from

her boyfriend of 5 years has cheated on her and she's been kicked out of her apartment

this girl sings the heartbreak like it's actually happening

These are the times that Bucky is actually worried that he's befriended a psychopath

it'll be a normal day, Bucky would be coming back from morning run

he'd introduced it just to get some sort of routine in his day

catching his breath, he'd do a little knock on Alpine's door before turning to unlock his own door

they'd started knocking to let the other know if they were leaving or if they were back from a place

they can't really place when they started it - but it made them both relax knowing that the other got home safely

Alpine, ever the nosey neighbour, opens the door

headphones on, shouting right at the poor man

"WE COULD HAVE HAD IT AAALLLL!"

"wHAT THE HELL!"

"ROLLING IN THE DEEEEPPPP"

"Alpine seriously, one of these days my instincts are going to kick in before I can stop them and you will get smacked"

"YOU HAD MY HEART INSIDE OF YOUR HANDS"

"you're not even listening to me"

she's kneeling on the ground as if bucky had just betrayed her in battle

"AND YOU PLAYED IT, TO THE BEAT"

Bucky deadass leaves her there and closes the door on her, sick of her shit or the day

but he's laughing to himself when he hears her still singing her little heart out form her apartment

the neighbours are looking out their door wondering who let the young girl move in

she was normal before Barnes moved in

that's a lie, she was just anti-social

and she stole most of their coupons so no wonder her neighbours didn't talk to her

and god forbid she go through an actual break up

she's this annoying with imagined scenarios, imagine if someone actually cheated on her or broke up with her just out of the blue

she's lying on the floor, staring at the ceiling singing her feels until her friends have to call Bucky in because none of their tactics are working

this is the ONLY time Bucky will actually play any of her music

she is definitely a swiftie, i feel like she has a specific playlist just for her taylor moments

she tries to get Bucky into it but he likes 40s music

also tries to get Sam into it and it works

he's a secret swiftie and no one can tell me otherwise

most of the songs she pushes onto Bucky are Taylor Swift songs, they're the ones that get stuck in her head the most often

she also requests them when she's drunk so you can imagine Sam driving her and Bucky back to their hotel after a Wilson cookout

she definitely had a few too many, requesting Taylor Swift the whole way back

Bucky is shaking his head because he imagines this is what looking after an actual child is like

Sam relents, starts playing her playlist

Alpine is loving life, drunk in the back of the car, in her feels and little imaginary scenarios that surface whenever she listens to music

"I'M DRUNK IN THE BACK OF THE CAR AND I CRIED LIKE A BABY COMING HOME FROM THE BAR! SAID I'M FINE BUT THAT WASN'T TRUE, I DON'T WANNA KEEP SECRETS JUST TO KEEP YOU AND I SNUCK IN THROUGH THE GARDEN GATE, EVERY NIGHT THAT SUMMER JUST TO SEAL MY FATE"

"AND I SCREAM FOR WHAT EVER ITS WORTH I LOVE YOU AIN'T THAT THE WORST THING YOU EVER HEARD-"

Bucky has to physically take a breath, watching her in shock and amusement as she belts they lyrics out, drunk out of her mind

is definitely shocked when Sam also joins in

"-HE LOOKS UP GRINNING LIKE A DEVIL!"

he is definitely impressed in times like this

but it's also times like this where he gets headaches and songs stuck in his head because Alpine doesn't shut up when she's drunk

honestly, she's awful (more on that later)

but he like's this version more than any other version of drunk Alpine

her other songs of choice include a lot of suggestive songs

surprisingly, they've have had long drunken discussions about these songs

shes drunk

he's unfortunately sober, wishing he had some of that good asgardian alcohol

"So he's saying he could fuck 24/7, seven days a week, which is why I think he's actually a super soldier."

"There are only two super soldier's in the world kid, you're looking at one of them." And i'm not sharing any aspect of my sex life with you."

"yeah but if there were going to be another one he would definitely be an option."

and god forbid if she goes through a break up

the next time she's being dramatic, her and Bucky are chilling in his place

she's doing some shopping on her laptop, headphones in humming to the songs

Bucky is watching TV, wondering what he should order for their dinner because he didn't want to cook and Alpine had cooked for them their other night

(domesticated little cuties)

it's a nice sense of peace for Bucky

it feels like home

especially when Alpine starts singing softly

he prefers these moments

as said before, Alpine isn't a bad singer, she's good

and Bucky finds her voice soothing

especially when she's singing the slower, heart warming songs that don't stress too much on her vocals

so when she started singing to the song playing through her head phones softly, he closed his eyes and just listened

she'd noticed, disconnected her headphones so he could hear the notes

"And I thank God everyday, for the girl he sent my way..."

Oddly, Bucky connects ot it

its a song about romance, but he things of his relationship with Alpine

what they had was a family bond and he'd do anything to protect it

most nights he found himself thanking his lucky starts for his little neighbour

"But i know the things he gives me.... he can take away..."

that was definitely something Bucky was worried about, something he dreaded would happen.

it was why he was so protective of her

"And I hold you everynight.... that's a feeling i wanna get used to... but there's no man as terrified as the man who stands to lose you..."

oh wow Bucky definitely relates to this song

it's nice

for once he understands the songs she's singing

and its a nice, calm, serene song

he's looking forward to the rest of it

Alpine has a little grin on her face, not that he can see it

"mmm... Please.... stay..."

her voice changes

"I want you, I need you, oh God"

it's slightly deeper and she sounds more troubled than before

"Don't take"

Bucky opens his eyes and glances at her

"THESE BEAUTIFUL THINGS THAT I'VE GOT"

she stands and starts mimicking the guitar aggressively, pointing to Bucky

"I WANT YOU I NEED YOU OH GOD. DON'T TAKE THESE BEAUTIFUL THINGS THATS IVE GOT!"

Bucky is grinning and laughing

it's the only time he's truly, truly enjoyed her dramatics, despite the screaming at him

Alpine is grinning at him, jumping up on his new couch next to him singing those high notes before falling to her knees next to him and grabbing his arm as she finished the song

he applauds her and she bows

yeah, he enjoys those moments

until she charges him for the private show

"$50!? it was one song!"

"i did choreography and everything"

he doesn't pay, obviously but she's takes payment in the form of the dinner she was already getting so-

at the end of the day, Alpine is a child at heart

she get's excited and loves to express her self

unlike a certain super soldier

so her introducing him to modern music normally turns into him getting it stuck in his head because she's been replaying the same song for around 2 hours doing a task

or because she's singing at the top of her lungs

as much as he isn't a fan of 21st century music, he loves watching the little performances of Alpine and occasionally Sam

and yes, whilst he may be tempted to join them, he would rather die

he handles the instrumental versions of things extremely well

Lyrics can be lost on him sometimes.

but he does get his chance to join in though because she adds some 40s style music to her playlists for him, and when he hears that he often brings her in for a dance when it's been a particularly good day

sometimes, very oftenly so, if a modern song carries the same tune and tempo, he'll carry on the dance

"Oh ho! Wait until Sam hears about this. Bucky Barnes dancing to modern music!"

"Go ahead, he'll never believe you."

denies it every happened when she tells Sam at their next family dinner

"I swear he danced!"

"Bucky? Dancing? You think I'd fall for that?"

"But he did!"

Bucky simply offers an evil grin when she asks him to tell Sam the truth

"you're delusional kid"

1. if we’re talking about writing then i guess when i was little i wanted to write down all of the dialogue of some of mlp episodes but my mom said no😭😭 and i did throw a whole tantrum then and she was like “child get over yourself” and i was all putty and decided screw you people, i’ll do it myself >:[ (spoiler ahead: i didn’t) and then after some years i guess i watched some series and me and my friend made up a world there and i wanted to write down some scenes with me so i literally wrote my own fanfiction then?? (i literally don’t remember what was happening to writing in my life between the ages like 8-13💀)(i mean i remember i was writing a silly story once and planning a book but like??? when exactly??)

and as for writing i literally came out of the womb with a marker in my hand so i was doing it for as long as i remember and i always loved mlp so it started there and well… here we are

2. oh my, my favourites? my favourite colors are defo: red, bottle green and purple but like… a deep one, and a hot pink lately. my fav food is just pasta. i don’t care how or with what, PASTA!! my favourite flower is an orichid:) my favourite characters oh my: fizzarolli (defo), violet from ahs, monica from friends, twilight from mlp, narcissa from harry potter, lady lesso from sfgae, catwoman/poison ivy/harley from dc (still can’t decide on one) and batman, peggy from marvel, aubrey from pitch perfect, celia from tshoev, and darcy from written in the starts:) (there’s a lot more but these are the few from the top of my head)

8. oh god good question. i think the person i accepted myself with my sexuality was cheryl from riverdale (when i thought i was bi and then omni and all of those different things) and then robin from stranger things, they both have a special place in my heart. but like just a gay awakening i must also it was also rose? it’s just the kate winslet effect

hi al!!! thank you for the ask :D and no it's not too much dw i am so happy to talk about ace

does your oc have any motifs?

an obvious one would defo be the ace of spades. she has a tattoo of one on her arm, and an earring with it that she usually wears. she has an ace of spades patch on her crust jacket, too! the ace of spades appears a lot in her album covers and music videos. sometimes she makes her spade pink :D

2. describe your character's voice. do they have a voice claim?

she doesn't have a voice claim at the moment but ace's voice is somewhat nasally when she speaks naturally, and she has issues controlling her volume so it's usually pretty loud. you see her before you hear her kinda deal. also she has a natural growl in her voice whenever she gets excited or angry. she has a pretty thick malay singaporean accent, which gets incredibly obvious when she's passionate about something, and she's more comfortable using it around close friends. sometimes during live shows her accent gets obvious too. during interviews and such, however, she hides her natural accent with a more polished vaguely american accent.

6. what is the thing your oc likes the least about themselves?

ace hates how passionate and serious she can get about most things. she very rarely experiences things in in betweens, and it's usually extremes for her. she doesn't like it because she feels as though it makes her annoying and unlikeable, and it has gotten in the way of relationships before and caused them to fall apart.

7. what is the thing your oc likes the most about themselves?

as she learned to love herself over the years she did come to really like her ability to talk to people!! growing up, she was always told that she was awkward and didn't socialise well. so becoming an adult and learning that most people couldn't care less, and even see her quirks as something that made her Her, was incredibly relieving for her. she slowly got more comfortable with striking up conversations with people if she needed/wanted to, and felt less like she Had to pretend she was someone she's not. it combats the thing she likes least about herself most times, but she still gets insecure about it some times. she works on it :]

10. what kind of music do they enjoy?

ace is a "listens to everything" kinda gal. and she Means It. but in terms of Really enjoy and favourites, she really enjoys the 60s and 70s rock scene (kind of just. any, really. but her favourites are jimi hendrix, the rolling stones, the shadows and musicians in the 70s punk scene. any other british rock artist from the 60s too, i'd say, considering she grew up in singapore). she also enjoys malay music from the 60s, mostly for the nostalgia. she grew up watching P. Ramlee films, so she enjoys his music the most. she also really likes music from bands like the quests and the trailers (all of these are popular music in singapore from the 60s btw so i'd highly recommend you check all of these out if you have the time. i personally really love p ramlee and the quests). aside from the nostalgia factor, ace did get really into the new wave scene as she entered the 80s music industry. and she eventually ended up picking up a few new favourite bands and artists along the way (and had the honour of occasionally bumping into these artists or even opening for them sometimes).

11. has your OC ever fallen in love and with whom?

our girl nikki haas baybee!!! ace is head over heels for her, as she should be. aside from that ace has a whole history of romantic relationships that go down in flames after she falls really hard, namely her relationship with her old drummer, mary dimes.

15. who is your OC’s best friend?

jack hardy :]] they've known each other since they were both in university, and shared a flat at some point. they have a special little bond. ace considers nikki her best friend too, along with jun! mary was also considered by her as a best friend, even if their relationship wasn't the best.

22. what is holding your OC back to achieve their goals?

self doubt. that's a big one for ace. she prolongs doing anything because she's simply afraid that she hasn't done the best that she can do. in fact, she's mostly afraid that her best won't be enough to achieve a goal in the first place. also, her obsession with being the best and doing the best she can often ends up with her so committed that she disregards her own health and safety. obviously that sets her back a little since she's not at optimum health and condition.

23. what are your OC’s biggest flaws and biggest strengths?

like i said, her biggest flaw is probably her obsession with being the best, and giving her best. but her biggest strength is probably her willingness to listen. be it to advice or to someone vent. if it's advice, she'll disregard it if she thinks it doesn't benefit her or if she feels it makes no sense. but most times, she does take advice into account a lot. which is good because her friends often notice when she's getting in too deep, and try to pull her out. she's always willing to listen. and if someone wants to vent, then, she'll take a lot of care in listening. she may not have advice or anything else to say, but she is always willing to just let you rant and let you know you're not alone.

I want to start yoga. Can you recommend me a youtube channel or something for this, which will increase my flexibility, leg opening, to do many movements easily, especially spiritually.

On YouTube, I really like Yoga with Adriene. I know she’s super popular so this isn’t very groundbreaking but she really has videos for absolutely everything (defo a bunch for flexibility) and she makes it feel very welcoming for all levels, her videos feel really accessible.

I don’t watch many other yoga channels but I do follow some Instagram accounts which are great for tips and inspo, these are my faves:

Darling, I am wheezing. I knew she was going viral because of the Bentley ASMR video and the many parodies of it. She’s super chill about it and sometimes she even shares some of them in stories. Nevertheless I didn’t know this one and let me tell you… I’ve been watching this for the fourth time today, thank you so much for the good laugh. 😭

Hello warriors! I’m a recent fan & have been going down the rabbit hole on youtube. There are so many Aurora videos & documentaries (I felt very emotional watching the HAIK one yesterday) - so I wondered if you had any favourite ones to recommend?

I’m a music therapist based in Edinburgh (Scotland) & am finding her music just so moving. It’s so emotive & healing isn’t it? Although I work with music everyday, as a way to help & connect with people, I don’t think I’ve ever listened to music that’s had this effect on me before. And it’s becoming clear that Aurora has this effect on everyone who hears her music. I wonder if there’s a space anywhere where people share their own versions of her music, or collaborate together on covers? Just some ideas I had. Sorry if this is too many questions, I’m not very good at the internet!

Your message really brightened up my evening, it's so great to see professionals seeing her music as a healing tool because it really is like a warm embrace from a person who heard you on things you went through and retold the story from such a persective so that you have a sparkle of hope and don't feel completely left out with your different maybe from majority feelings... Nidarosdomen Christmas concert (church, orchestra, AURORA, what else to wish for, especially when Fredrik kicked off his best solo during My Universe), the Japan concert from the end of 2020 (acoustic renditions felt fresh), Somewhere Else Festival 2020 (lights! concept!), my all-time fave live Kex Hostel in Reykjavik during Iceland Airwaves 2018 (aka the first KEXP: the best sound, the best Gentle Earthquakes, the best Forgotten Love, Vetle doing his magic all overon synths), “A Touch of the Divine” (ART), Live at St Michaelis Church / Reeperbahn Festival Hamburg (no professional recordings but chills all over from A Different Kind of Human alone), VIERLIVE live stream with Bergen Philarmonic Orchestra (she has grown so incredibly much as a vocalist since Nidarosdomen), COP26 (a huge portion of love here goes to Fredrik Svabø), and NRK P3 September last year (Magnus is the best backing vocalist for her confirmed)!

As for documetaries... "Once Aurora" will answer ALL your questions regarding her personality, tour and usual life, it's one of the most unique documentaries I've ever seen and a must-check for you, please, don't hesitate to watch! It'd be also important (also to you as a professional!) to check out Lifekeys Talks interview with her: a good insight into her childhood, influences in life and reasons to create music! "Nothing is Eternal" was a good short early documentary which holds a special sentiment to me as one of the first things I've watched while getting into her world! Also really love her small guide into happy life for Glasto 2019, so simple and so AURORA! Also really recommend "Sounds Like A Plan"podcast for getting some wisdom from her and, goodness, there are so many insightful interviews with her and this is all just off the top of my head! Also I have a special tag for the interviews [link] with many posts I stumbled ipon and articles I archived here, so, please, take a look!

As for the space where people share their own versions of her music... A lot of people do that on Instagram mostly tagging her and sometimes on TikTok, happens on YouTube too! Sometimes AURORA France [link] shares some of their favourite covers of AURORA on Sundays! Several years ago even Melbourne Indie Voices performed onstage a cover of The Seed! Also would say that AURORA herself makes wonderful covers, she really makes them in such unique and her own way, always astonishing!

It is a video game! :] its all for the game Control

There is a House with a capital H:

It’s The Oldest House, and nobody can see it unless they know it’s there. The whole game is set there— we follow Jesse Faden, who gets lead there in search of her missing younger brother (Dylan) and for answers for what happened when she was a child and experienced something paranatural in her home town, which resulted in her parents disappearing, the government taking her brother, and her on the run.

Turns out the government has a group called The Federal Bureau of Control who operate out of this building and study and contain any objects or items that end up having a paranatural ability. It also turns out Jesse is someone who can bind herself to these objects and use their powers (which makes for delightfully fun gameplay).

You also get to meet some awesome characters with just immaculate vibes. There’s a lot more to it— like The Board, the weird inverted pyramid that talks to you and gives you orders, or the Hiss, the entropic resonance trying to overtake everyone and everything in its path, the fridge that ate a guy—

But instead I’ll give you some vibes:

My fave characters are all of them bc theyre so good and well written but my fave fave is Jesse’s brother Dylan :]

If you wanna get more vibes I defo recommend watching some trailers for it, (there’s this, this, and this) the vibes are immaculate (and Loki Show adjacent, 60s/70s wacky bureaucracy and all 👀)

I actually can't quite remember the name of the Zouis fic I've read recently, it was about Zayn moving back to Louis because he broke up with his boyfriend and needed some comfort from his best friend. do u want to give me, a first year not living in student accom, advice

of course!! I only experienced being a first year not in student accom because of the pandemic so my advice is limited. but I know one or two people who studied from home the entire year for personal reasons so its definitely a thing people do! we're so lucky we have zoom, teams, messenger, gmail etc etc etc like that's my main form of communication with ppl from uni. I'm in so many groupchats with my whole year, with my subject, just whatever group I need to stay in contact with. messaging people just to even complain about the work was such a relief for me so I defo recommend being active on whatever messaging platform your classmates use (most likely fb). I also used to videocall people A Lot like once I asked to video call a girl who did not live in college first year and it was super nice to meet her and just Chat!! that aside, I would Highly recommend having a designated study space - separate your sleeping and studying areas if you can because otherwise your work and home life become mingled and inseparable which isnt v fun. otherwise I wish you the best and and am sure you will thrive!!! 💞💞💞💞

So I'm 18 , from England, studying Fashion at college for the past two years but with lockdown and stuff I don't think I'll be finishing this year at college normally which kinda sucks but I think I'll only miss the college food and my lunchtime naps..
