Drabbles for potential Tech fan fiction
"What is that?" Tech posed the question but his expression read "wtf is that doing in your home". Mei barely lifted her head at the sound of the front door opening, the comment did seem to cause her offence beucase she opened her eyes wide and let out a soft growl. You walked past him, gently brushing your hand on his shoulder in reassurance.
"That is Mei." You knew thats not what was asking, but you were still a little annoyed. Maybe not warning him about the family pet tiger was already enough of petty revenge.
You set your speeder keys on the small hooks on the wall and kicked your shoes off, flexing your aching foot and just for extra measure rubbed your feet and the straw mat. No stinky feet. He still had not moved from the doorway, in fact he looked like he was ready to jump back outside as his eyes did not leave Mei. Mai had gone back to her light snoring.
" Tech your fine. She won't eat you unless I ask her to." Had it been an hour ago you would have. "Come in, we will eat and then rest. Am starving."
" What kind of animal is she." Of course he had to know, you thought. At least he was making his way in now.
"A zillo beast." You deadpanned, oh god you were not helping teh situation but you let the pettiness get the best of you. He shot you a glare as he took of his helmet. You bit your lip, his hair had been tousled in such a way that invited . . . inappropriate thoughts in your head. You enjoyed the way he squinted his eyes in annoyance, you like rilling "Mr.Perfect" up. "What, I thought you knew everything Tech. How could you not know what kind of animal Mei is?"
"Becuase I have never been to this planet before. Obviously". Tech replied, a matter so factly, helmet now resting on his hip looking more annoyed than ever. You yelped as he took a step forward onto the main floor.
"No! No shoes allowed in the house. You must take them off!" Your hand had outstretched to his chest to keep from from coming, his foot frozen midair awkwardly. "We don't want to bring all the dirt from outside into the house. Keep's the floor clean. No outside germs."
His eyes were wide, he was not wearing his armor anymore so he could feel your warm palm outstretched on his chest through the soft fabric. He felt a shiver, hoping you didn't notice he stepped back to remove the shoes.
"Am going to the kitchen to look for food." With that you left, his chest now feeling cold where your hand had lingered.

The help who stayed year round was, interesting. It was a small family of two adults and 2 children. Refugees who your family employed year ago when they first arrived. They were honest and humble, keeping the house clean and the garden in shape, in exchange for a place to call their own. You were much older than the children, so your younger siblings grew up beside them and instead you called the wife of the help your friend. Currently, it was her husband and one of the children who sat at the table with you and Tech as you devoured your food.
"Am sorry to have woken you so late Mauricio, I hope I didn't scare any of you with our late night intrusion."
"Well, me and my wife were a bit concerned when Marisol woke us that she heard noise in the kitchen. But I knew if Mei wasn't roaring about then there was nothing to serious happening." Marisol, there daughter was nursing a cup of warm blue milk as she kept asking Tech questions about his "Clone Life" and the war. They sat across from you on the low table, Tech graciously answering all her questions in between bites even thought Mauricio told his daughter to let the man eat.
"How is Rosa? The last time I spoke, well before I left on that cursed expedition, she told me she wanted to try and contact her family. Did that have any leads?" You sipped on your juice now, finally full from all the food Mauricio pulled out from the fridge. Rosa made her pastel azteca last night plus plenty of giso with frijoles.
"Well, yes actually, the hold barricade on our home world finally broke 2 months ago so our message got through with your brothers help, he had to encode it so it couldn't get traced. Her parents are both alive and well, well as well as you can be in a post war. The only thing is her sister and husband, they didn't make it so she was greiving for a while." Mauricio looked ahead out the kitchen window, the stars could be seen.
" How awful . . . " You couldn't imagine losing any of your siblings, the mere thought of it was unbearable. " Did you attempt to contact your parents?"
Mauricio said nothing. He just stared out the window. Marisol turned to look at you, and looking at her solem gaze you understood. The atmosphere grew heavy. Well crap, good going. Tech glanced at you, he seemed unsure what to say. Or so you thought.
"Mr.Mauricio, do you speak of the planet Tenochxico?" The older man turned to Tech, "oh god", you pleaed in you'e head, "don't fuck it up Tech."
"Yes." He replied curtly now, Marisol looked up at Tech with an arched brow.
" Me and my brothers did a mission there once, two months ago actually. We were there to help break the blockcade, there is a lot of detials you can not know. But there was a elder couple we happened upon at one point, they were kind." He paused, hopefully trying to figure out how to put it nicely. " They were in, poor condition unfortuanelty. Their house had been destroyed in one of the raids and had injured the couple, we tried to get them help but there was no one coming nor nothing we could do."
"Why are you telling me this young man." Mauricio had tears in his eyes, Marisol stood from her cushion to go comfort her father, glaring at Tech. You stayed silent, curious to see where Tech was going with this. Tech always had a reason.
"The old women gave me a golden bracelet, she told me it was her son's. That I must wear it until I found her son, so that I should give it to him. And that when I did, to tell him the she missed him, to . . . to come home to his mother. She . . . her name was Esme. Her husbands name was Hernesto." Your an idiot, your an idiot for not connecting the dots when Tech told you why he wore a gold bracelet with a name that was not his.
Mauricio looked wide eyed as Tech pulled up the sleeve of the linen shirt and removed the bracelet with the mans name on it, handing it over to like it was delicate glass into the palm of Mauricio. In the few years you knew the man you'd never seen him shed a single tear, and now they would not stop flowing. Marisol looked frightend, seeing her father cry and you stared dumbfounded at Tech. The look on his face concerned you, just hours ago you guys were at each others throats and now he was being sentimental and, odd.
The night concluded after that. Mauricio thanking Tech deeply and wrapping him in a fatherly hug, trying not to sob, you were sure the stoic man had adopted Tech and was ready to call him son. Tech looked awkward in the hug, if it weren't such a solem occasion you would've laughed at him for being weird. You all bid goodnight, Marisol brought you guys some blankets, shyly handing over one to Tech.
"Thank you for giving my dad his bracelet." Marisol commented, looking into his eyes now. Tech replied, "It was my job too."
Marisol stared at him a bit longer, then young girl regained some sense, Tech had already turned to look at you.
" Goodnight Marisol, go to bed its late." You ordered, stifling a yawn yourself. " Me and Tech are going to sleep, its past our bedtime too."
"You guys are going to sleep together?" Marisol was to old at 15 to be asking such stupid questions, a teenage girl trying to be snarky. Ugh your siblings ruined her. "Do your parents know you brought a man to the house? I wont tell, but your unmarried so I don't know if my mom would-"
"Marisol." You set your tone firm, you were to tired for teenage girl antics. Tech just stood their awkwardly between you both. She pursed her lips, but relented and left. You wanted reprimand her, that she was not your equal but Tech's presence stopped you. "Sorry Tech, she grew up with my sibling and now they have spoiled her. Sometimes I feel like am talking to Waheeda."
"Who is Waheeda?" Tech asked as you both climbed up the stairs, God your feet ached. Now that the anger had worn off the tiredness and calm crept in between you two. He grabbed the blanket you were holding and carried them himself before you could say anything. "Is she one of your sisters?"
"Yes." And a brat. You would let him figure that out. You showed him to one of the rooms, the smell of the room upon opening the wood door calmed you as notalgia washed over you. "You will sleep here. If you need anything I'll be in my room."
You pointed to the opposite balcony where more doors lined the hall across the courtyard, Marisol words rang some truth. You had to be prudent afterall. You started to walk away.
"Your blankets Devasena." Bleary eyed and stifling another yawn you turned, blankets softly placed in your out stretched arms.
Do not let the sun go down on your anger.
"Am sorry for being so petty Tech." You struggled to spit it out, and now struggled to not add further comments about his attitude not helping. " I was irritated that the expedition went so sour, well mostly everything went terribly. I will help you get back to your brothers tomorrow."
He was silent, and now the moonlight graced his face and your anger died looking at his big honey eyes.
" I . . . apologize as well. I can see where I might have. . ." He grimaced, looks like your not the only one with an ego problem. But jeez he looked like he was getting a tooth pulled out. " Erred."
Considering it was Tech, you'll take it.
"Goodnight Tech." You gave him a small smile, not wanting to leave but you turned to your room.
If you would have looked back, you might have caught Tech watching you walk away until your own door shut, and still a moment longer. He was just a man after all, and your long midnight black hair had an ethereal glow in the moonlight.

100 Reasons to Love Vivia Nihar
Inspired by @wrongshatteredrealms and their post about 100 reasons why Destin Karn is their favorite character from Shattered Realms. This post took a while to make, but Vivia really deserves it. Itâs quite long, I warn you.
1. She loves her country even after everything the people in it put her through
2. She is a feminist icon
3. Her nickname is âLittle Foxâ and thatâs just adorable
4. Sheâs so strong in spite of her mental health issues
5. Her mother committed suicide and she still manages to go past the place where it happened all the time without breaking down each time
6. She just cares about Stix so much and would die for her
7. When she realized just how much Serafin has been manipulating her, she tried her best to do something about it
8. She is a pirate princess who also happens to be a lesbian, and honestly you canât get any cooler than that
9. âDo I look like I care about plums?â
10. âNow would be the right time for the gardener to complain about his plum treesâ
11. She has that habit of patting the sides of her face like sheâs checking to make sure her mask is in place
12. She calls Merik âMerryâ and it makes me laugh every time
13. Sheâs the Chosen Daughter of the VOID WELL, which nobody thought existed
14. The lack of patience she has with the vizers is amusing, but she takes it to an art form with Serrit Linday and itâs priceless
15. Her annoyed internal monologue about how it seems like five thousand servants have stopped to talk to her, interrupted only by another servant coming to talk to her before she mentally changes the count to five thousand and one
16. All the pining for Stix in her POV chapters with the constant repetition of âToo good for meâ
17. When she saves Merikâs life by showing up out of nowhere and cutting off Garrenâs head
18. When, upon cutting off Garrenâs head, she gloats by saying âCome back from thatâ
19. Even when Merik constantly misgenders Cam in Windwitch, Vivia still has a hard time believing heâs a girl
20. Later in Bloodwitch when Cam is introduced as a boy, Vivia immediately believes it (Merik, take lessons from your sister)
21. Her own brother thinks sheâs intimidating and trying to have him killed, but she really just needs a hug
22. âI could have just as many titles if I wantedâ
23. The way that as soon as she realizes Stix is missing, she goes into an absolute panic because what if something happened to her???
24. How she gets chills when Vizer Sotar calls her âMy Queenâ because no oneâs ever called her that before
25. She put in so much work for the under-city but got recognized for none of it
26. She came up with a really awesome speech but didnât get to say it
27. When Cam is talking about Paladins and magical doorways in Bloodwitch and externally Vivia is like, âYeah, okayâ when internally sheâs basically saying, âWhat in the world is he talking about - â
28. She completely tricked Merik into believing that the boat miniature was actually representing a Dalmotti trade ship
29. She also tricked Merik into believing that she believed him when he lied about where the miniature was
30. When sheâs just so done with Linday in the council meeting and she keeps mentally making her ideal punishment for him even worse
31. Until sheâs thinking about how he should be drawn, quartered, eviscerated, and burned to ashes and she gets distracted from the actual meeting
32. How flustered she gets when Stix kisses her on the cheek
33. How she constantly refers to that moment as âthe kissâ even though it wasnât a real kiss because it was so emotional for her
34. She quite literally jumps into a valley filled with seafire to save the people of Lovats
35. When Merik saves her from dying as she plummets through the valley of seafire, she acts like itâs an everyday occurrence and proceeds to just go about her business
36. She has a hard time trusting Cam at first, which makes sense, but as soon as he mentions the message that Stix sent her, Vivia immediately trusts him because itâs better than risking the chance that Stix might not need help
37. âYou may lower your waterâ âOh may I? Â Iâm so glad to have your permissionâ
38. She has plans to put more women on the High Council once sheâs officially queen
39. When Vivia, a person who has never had a real conversation with Safi, knows within about five seconds that the reason Safi wants Marstok to trade with Nubrevna is because of Merik
40. Over the course of Bloodwitch, she goes from barely interacting with Vizer Sotar to going to talk to him for literally everything and asking for advice and help
41. Anybody could say any random thing and sheâd find a way to connect it to the fact that Stix is perfect and amazing
42. When she gets the message from Vaness suggesting a meeting over trade, she just starts laughing because she thinks itâs a trick, then when Stix says she should go sheâs like âokayâ
43. That kind of infuriating thing where she writes a message to Vaness via the Wordwitched paper after telling the empress she got home safely and we donât get to know what she said
44. âYou can keep [the pencil]. Â I have othersâ âAs do I. Â Weâre not that poorâ
45. How she bickers with Vaness for well over two pages about whose fault it was that the Truce got broken and who needed help more
46. When she thinks Merik is dead, the extent of her reaction is pretty much âAw, thatâs too badâ but when Stix goes missing for a day, sheâs in an utter panic and asking Vizer Sotar where she could possibly be
47. How she learns to stop apologizing to Serafin and stop feeling guilty over the things he does to her
48. When sheâs anxious over something, she stops and remembers [insert advice from her mother]. Â It doesnât sound like a lot but when you remember that the whole country thinks her mother was insane and you remember their mother-daughter relationship, itâs sweet
49. That moment in Bloodwitch where her thought process is basically âI like how Stix always calls me âsir,â it shows we respect each other but not in terms of royalty...wait why is she calling me âYour Highnessâ now, does she not think weâre friends anymore?...oh thank God she called me âViv,â weâre friends for sureâ
50. Nubrevna needed food, and it wasnât getting food, so she just decided to steal it
51. Sheâs unbelievably calm when Merik holds a pistol to her head
52. She tries so hard to stop the Fury but doesnât realize that the Fury is a reincarnated Paladin who happens to be pretty much immortal
53. For all those times Merik thought about how she treated her crew like servants, you donât see her chaining people to the deck for 10 hours at a time
54. She is shameless about her piracy because she knows itâs for the greater good of Nubrevna
55. When she orders the generals to do something and they refuse, and she realizes that her crown was taken away and she hadnât even been there for the vote like...poor Little Fox
56. When she has that realization that Jana had managed to bear with the shadows instead of nurturing them as Serafin had, and that made her even stronger than him
57. âVivia was ready to be Queenâ yes!!!
58. No matter what Merik does, chances are her response would be âughâ or rolling her eyes because they are Siblingsâ˘
59. She doesnât have as many of the action or fight scenes as the other characters, but Iâm still always so excited for her next chapter because sheâs just so amazing
60. When she decides itâs time to stop trying to be a good daughter and start trying to be a good ruler
61. When she mentally agrees with Vizer Sotar that Camâs âdoorâ is, in fact, a wall
62. When sheâs simultaneously annoyed and impressed by how much clay and water Vaness put out before their meeting to make her feel safe against the empressâs Ironwitchery
63. That trick she does with the water at the meeting with the vizers
64. She reminds the High Council that it was Jana and not Serafin who signed the Truce, so he should not get the credit
65. When she stands up to her father and says that there is no way heâs fit to lead an army after having almost died
66. âI decide who holds the title of Admiral and I havenât appointed youâ
67. When she basically tells Serafin that heâs a pathetic soldier and he exaggerated all of his accomplishments, like Vivia, you tell him
68. The internal jealousy when she thinks Stix is seeing someone else
69. When she canonically thinks that Vizer Sotar is the only one on the council who has a fully operational brain
70. She does such a good job of pretending that Merik is dead at his funeral
71. For all she was talking about how the meeting with Vaness would be pointless, she actually stayed in touch with the empress and itâs a good thing she did
72. For that matter, she didnât give up on Vanessâs negotiations when the empress had to end their meeting abruptly to talk to Habim
73. She isnât physically described too much in the books, so the reader gets to have their own image in their head of what she looks like, more or less
74. Even though sheâs proven to be good with a blade, most of the time she honestly doesnât need one because of her Tidewitchery
75. When she sends Linday off to do something menial just so she can have a moment alone, but (unfortunately) he barks at some servant to do it instead, and she has to put up with Serrit Linday for even longer
76. When she internally calls Linday âslimyâ
77. She stays so remarkably composed while the vizers tell her that her throne has been reclaimed by Serafin, even though her life is falling apart
78. She still goes to Janaâs garden sometimes
79. Most of the country thinks she is weak because sheâs a woman and because her mother committed suicide, but omg Vivia can GET THINGS DONE
80. When Vaness dropping the pencil is actually reassuring to her because it means that sheâs a human and not 100% perfect, 100% of the time
81. Her friendship with Stix is just amazing - so much mutual respect and support
82. Her self-esteem is nonexistent, but Stix trying to boost it always seems to make her day
83. She worked so hard to get the food for Nubrevna that it was so heartbreaking when she realized it was all for nothing
84. For that matter, the same goes for her efforts for the under-city
85. In Windwitch she mentions how she hates spiders, but later she gets a spider off Merik when he doesnât notice itâs there #SisterlyLove
86. After Stix kisses her on the cheek, she literally just stands there because sheâs just so đ overwhelmed đ
87. When Serafin jokes about Vivia possibly having arranged for Vanessâs death and sheâs horrified at the idea but externally is like âyeah...ha ha haâ
88. When she was a kid, she found an abandoned room in one of the palace wings and she decorated it herself and called it her foxâs den, which is the cutest thing ever
89. When she realizes that the Void Well is the Void Well and she knows she should bring her father down to heal him but some part of her doesnât know if she should...sheâs just so confused and, I repeat, really needs a hug
90. That moment where sheâs so busy that she doesnât try to put on a façade and Stix actually notices and sheâs just so touched
91. When Vivia decides that even though she doesnât know Cam, there is no way sheâs going to stand there and do nothing while Garren cuts off his finger
92. When she has no idea what just happened but sheâs glad she saved Merikâs life, so this one time she has no regrets
93. When she is so overwhelmed by all the negative things happening that she thinks to herself that this must be what drowning feels like, and itâs just so painful to read
94. That moment in Windwitch where sheâs so scared that something might happen to Merik or her crew and she feels like sheâs somewhere between Serafin and Jana and she doesnât know which side is the better one, so she makes that decision to save the city even though she thinks itâll kill her
95. When she manages to start over with Merik and put everything in the past
96. How all of her irritation towards the vizers goes out the window whenever she talks to or thinks about Stix
97. How sheâs so frustrated by Vaness at first but by the end has a lot of respect for her
98. The way she acts in front of the council in comparison to the way she acts when sheâs alone
99. Sheâs part of Vix, an amazing ship!!!!
100. In conclusion, Vivia is such an incredible character and deserves all the love in the world. Â Thank you for reading đ
