just put my own sample (a small slice of apple) under a microscope for the first time and i think this is what heaven looks like
#like holy shit#I've looked at prepared slides before but this was my first time putting something that i found in the world under it#save for like high school biology ten years ago#and holy shit i wanted to cry it was so beautiful#once i got it focused and lit just right it was like a mountain of golden crystals and bubbles#and it was just starting to brown so that combined with the backlight made it look like the sun peeking out from behind clouds#except the clouds were made of glass#and all brilliantly beautiful and different shapes#i couldnt magnify too much bc the slice was too thick to get the larger objectives on it#but what i did see was so gorgeous. i am so excited to have this new hobby#microscopy
