Im so glad ur doing musician recs BCS even before I saw u were I was planning on sending this rec in. DENISE CHAILA!!! I love her sm u have no idea. From her Wikipedia page: "Denise Chaila is an Irish -Zambian rapper, singer, poet, grime and hip hop artist based in Limerick." Limerick is a city in Ireland, and it's the city im from! Denise Chaila's work has meant so much to me, and even beyond her work just the fact that she's doing all this as someone from Limerick and that Limerick is centered in her work is really incredible and that she's putting Limerick on the map as a place of culture literature and Music and it's the heart of Irish hip hop thanks to her. She really embodies Limerick and ireland of the 21st century in a way that's so cool to me as a teenager (it's my bday today!). Ive actually met her before (limericks tiiiiiiiiinnnnnyyyyy and her brother went to school with my brother) and she is just genuinely one of the most lovely beautiful people I ever seen. Do urself a favour and watch the music video of her song Anseo, it's incredible. Rírá is my favourite song of hers just AHHHHH so good. Shes into all nerdy stuff as well like anime and shit it's in the lyrics of her songs which is cool. anyway sorry for this long rambly ask ♥️♥️♥️

See, my dad always wanted to put me in Riverdance when I was a toddler bc he was into Lord of the Dance. But we were poor and I was Black and it was like "what are we gonna do with a little poor Black girl trying to do Riverdance competitions and shit". Still love that soundtrack though, it's still on my media playlist.
