My introduction was Dragonlance and Drizzt Do'Urden, because those were the most interesting stories in my dad's bookcase.
#there is definitely some awkwardness with those series but i have a lot of nostalgia for 'em#might not hold up if i read them again#but i miss those summer vacations where i just binged 'em#Tasselhoff Burrfoot and Raistlin Majere are some of The Most Characters of all time for me#i could write essays about how the narrative failed Caramon > : (#and i don't know quite what i was feeling when i was reading about the Drow matriarchy as a weird little lesbian in denial but those ladies#they sure did something for me#Drizzt too but in a “boy i wish i was that guy” way#the Chanur Chronicles were also top-notch and had a slightly more nuanced matriarchy going on but those are sci-fi#i actually want to read those ones again#. . . oh and i was an Eragon fan
