I wanted to see if you'd written more fandom studies type posts and I found out you were into clexa back in 2016... As a fellow member of the i-hate-jroth club, I am so sorry. Tbf that experience did teach me to mistrust creators forever so I guess thats something <3 the other day I read this fansplaining. com/episodes/82-javier-grillo-marxuach they get into what happened in the writers' room with the writer of the lexa death episode. thought it was interesting!
first of all this makes me want to scrub my entire internet history. you could say that I was “into clexa.” and I’ve always really respected javi! he was on tumblr when everything happened and he just let a couple hundred distraught wlw storm his inbox to tell him he ruined their lives. it was maybe the most reflective and caring I’ve ever seen a creator be over legitimate criticism their work. he’s definitely gotten a little corny with it since then, but I don’t think the overcorrection is a bad thing. if he ever writes another lesbian she’ll have titanium skin
#i could say a lot about clexa but i won't <3#but it was like#such a specific fandom event#for people to fixate so specifically on a relationship in a tv show#and have it so drastically hyped#to its downfall!#and now we have. clexacon#hmmmmmmm#anon#answered

I'm so close to having a full post on why this won't be happening and will never. Explain how they have been having a problem selling merchandise for Kylo. They made money but they still make more bank on Vader. The Sequel Trilogy is done. You got your ship. Sorry one of them died... but... is this y'alls first fandom loss? Don't ever get into queer ships cause most just end up dead or the fandom just being queer baited. You think Reylo is bad? You've never felt the Clexa pain.
I’m not sure what the point of sending this to me is except to say get over it. Here’s the thing though those of us who miss Ben or were upset by TROS don’t have to get over it. Yeah it’s a movie and yeah he’s a fictional character but we’re all allowed to have our own reaction to it. If part of this is in response to the letter from twitter I reposted (the one that was sent to DLF) you don’t have to agree with people sending letters you can think it’s pointless and it won’t solve anything and you know maybe it won’t but the point is people have a lot of feelings about how this movie ended and they have a right to get them out. As long as no one is sending hate or harassment I see no problem with people messaging Disney to let them know how they feel.
I don’t know why you assume those of us who are upset by having lost Ben haven’t experienced other loses of other characters or ships. I just experienced losing Billy from Stranger Things in July and that hit me so hard and I’m definitely not over that nor will I ever probably be with how much I relate to that character. I ship Harringrove (Billy and Steve) from Stranger Things and there was a lot of queer baiting/queer coding going on with them but in the end season 3 couldn’t even give us one scene of them together. It was really sad but I never figured their ship would be canon. I’m just glad they live on in fandom.
I get how it can be hard when you ship something that will never be canon and see people upset about their canon ship even after they got an on screen kiss but it doesn’t mean we have to just take what we got and be happy for it. Each situation is different. It is possible to be thankful for one aspect while still being critical of others. I know what it is to ship couples that will never be canon and I know what a gift we got in some of the scenes at the end of TROS but at the same time I’m still incredibly hurt by that movie and that’s not going to change.
It’s just kind of crazy and close minded to assume you’re the only one who has lost something important or that because some of us are upset over Ben dying that it’s because it’s the first time we’ve experienced something like that. Or to assume that because we ship Reylo that we don’t also enjoy lgbtq ships and that some of us aren’t lgbtq ourselves. I’m bi and almost all of the ships I’ve loved have been lgbtq, Reylo actually happens to be the exception but I’m drawn to the storyline and characters not their sexuality.
The Sequel Trilogy is done but no one really knows if Disney might do something else with Ben and Rey at some point especially given how popular Ben is. You might think he’s not selling much and he’s not very popular but I don’t know how much the stats back that up because everything I see shows that people love this character. There’s been mixed opinions about TROS but there seems to be a general consensus that most people didn’t want Ben killed off. This isn’t about Reylo he was Han Solo’s son he was the last Skywalker. When Ben was killed off all of the hope that things could be different from Anakin’s story died with him. Even most people who are die hard OT fans could see that. I also really don’t think people who invested over 40 years into a franchise wanted to see it end the way it did with the last of the Skywalkers dead and Rey alone. I firmly believe there would be more than enough interest to warrant DLF continuing his story.
