My cat spends half the night screaming and yelling that he's not getting enough food (not true they get the recommended amount by their vet) or that he really really wants me to turn the sink on so he can drink water (they have a perfectly working little water fountain bowl to drink from that has fresh water in it) or that he desperately needs attention RIGHT NOW (he spends practically the whole day cuddled up with me getting petted and played with). Then at 7am every morning when it's gotten too bright for me to go back to sleep he finally finally settles down and takes a little nap right on top of me.

#i havent slept through the night in a while #im pretty fucking tired #i try my best to curb this behaviour #but he is a smart cat #and stubborn #he knows the things that he can threaten to destroy that will make me act #he goes after me (threatening to nip at my face or arms as well as just batting at my head with his paws)#he goes after my carpet (threatening to pee on it even though he never has or ripping it up at the thresholds)#he goes after my furniture (scratches at my desk chair at my couch at my tv even)#he also likes to knock breakable things off of high places though this one is mostly stopped by me removing anything he could break #lately hes taken to sitting under my bed directly under my head and scratching at the underside of my mattress #it is loud and shakes the whole bed #and its damaging to my mattress and i cant easily reach him to shoo him away bc hes in the furthest corner against the wall #i could probably ignore it if he hadnt ripped a whole in a previous mattress that id had #and my mattress isnt a normal kind if he rips a hole in it this thing is done for #idk what to do #i try my best to ignore him in the night and not reward him with food or whatever #but he just doesnt stop #and im tired #its like having a perpetual toddler #hes 8 years old for gods sake
