Yes! I have questions!
I keep meaning to make note to see if Azi has any โfutureโ talk because Crowley for sure has several turn of phrases that donโt apply unless he somehow knows.
Always brushed off "like a lead balloon" as a sort of joke, like they were translating the idea of what Crawly was saying into a simile that makes sense for modern readers. Then I kind of brushed over Crowley in the book explaining helicopters to Da Vinci before they've actually been invented. Never really thought about it.
Now, I'm rewatching S2, and Crowley mentions 'suggestion boxes' in the Before times, something that definitely doesn't exist, and Aziraphale responds as though he's never heard of one, but somehow knows what Crowley means. What is this language Crowley is using, how does he know about all of these things and how does he come up with them and then communicate them to other people instantaneously? What is Crowley ever talking about?
And then I remembered Aziraphale's books. Nostradamus. Mother Shipton. Agnes Nutter. And I got to thinking--Wonder where Aziraphale's fascination with prophets got started?
#kinda obsessed with this#because i on the other hand have found it very odd that crowley seems to know about things long before he should#i could brush off the lead balloon if it werent for the helicopter thing#good omens#it just feels like he knows too much admittedly not immediately helpful info#what does it all mean?#totally normal
