Yoooo, these are both things I’ve always wanted to see too!!!! The closest we got to Korra comforting Mako like that I can think of is S1E3, where she puts her hand on his shoulder after fighting the chi blockers, and reassures him they’re going to save Bolin. What I would pay to get more moments like that 😭 Sorry there’s not others I can think of, but either way super excited for your next amv! Always love them, they are so well made 🤩🙌

And Korra carrying Mako...OMG we needed that! I’ve actually had this slight fanon alteration to their final showdown in my mind with Amon that involves JUST THAT! 

Here’s how I would have done it: After Amon takes Korra’s bending away and takes out the Lieutenant, he moves to do the same to Mako. But Mako isn’t able to shock Amon right in front of him like he did in the show. Instead, Amon moves behind him and puts his thumb on Mako’s forehead. But just before he can complete the bending removal process, Mako uses his lightning to shock HIMSELF. This greatly injures both of them and causes them both to lose consciousness. 

Then we get a role reversal: Korra recovers and picks up Mako. Not sure if she would bridal carry him or fireman’s carry him. Girl definitely could do either with those arms 💪 💪  And the dialogue is switched too.

Mako: “Korra, your bending...”                                                                                 Korra: “Everything will be alright! We just need to get out of here!”

But Amon recovers quickly and bloodbends them, pulling Mako back to him. Only this time he says, “It’s almost a shame to take the bending of someone so skilled...permanently.” He then begins to bloodbend Mako in the same way Yakone did Aang, clearly with the intent to kill him. THEN Korra sees this and unlocks her airbending, saving him in the same way she did.

We really needed more of Korra comforting Mako when he’s vulnerable. This is why I’ve always thought at some point, Mako should have had an arc of trying to find his parents’ killer (à la Southern Raiders). And Korra would need to counsel and comfort him through it. Ideally it would be Book 2, which would give Korra some perspective on all their arguing. Now SHE’S the one who has to be there for someone who is emotionally distraught and not listening to reason. It would allow her to have some much-needed self-reflection. 

I live for TLOK S1E 7,9 & 10 because I’m a sucker for hurt/comfort. I just wish I could see Korra comfort Mako at his lowest point. I need these clips for my amv 😭🙏🏽.

Korra carrying Mako would be a bonus. Those muscles being used to carrying her right hand man to safety? Yes please! 😩🙏🏽
