also worth remembering there are some caveats regarding usability and features. f-droid's official store app can be a bit harder to navigate if youre used to google play, and newpipe (as it doesnt use any ui or anything from youtube) can also be difficult to navigate and configure for new users, and (very intentionally) lacks the ability to log into your google/youtube account. its understandable, but you should still check them out, theyre 100% free and worked on entirely by volunteers, and apps like newpipe have more important advantages such as 0 ads, even if its ui is relatively more basic
