#i cant in proper character studies so here have a thread

WTF is happening? I swear to god a month ago I was checking this hashtag for updates like my life depended on it, and I had great plans for my wip's and everyone was making predictions about what the vault might contain.

Then I tell myself to start making some headway with my studies because exams are breathing down my neck and I (somehow) manage to keep away from this fandom that has been my life and blood for so long. AND ALL HELL BREAKS LOSE!!

Now we know that there are THREE books related to this fandom coming out this year and we might get Toby and Hannah and I'm so excited!

But there are two characters who have my undivided attention atm and I want to talk about them!

So now we have all the main characters, I'm so thrilled that Rohan is one of them because his story is so intriguing to me and it also adds to some much needed Indian or Pakistani (though most prob Indian) representation.

Just think about the kind of background he must have come from, let that blow your mind!

I know that he is going to have a real tragic backstory. Think something involving childhood abandonment or abuse or (most probably) separation from his loving family, coming to London, being faced with the HUGE cultural shock and the nail biting cold and relentless rain. Add to this: making sense of the weird accent. Being picked off the street to do some odd work for the Devil's Mercy. Slowly getting to know it's secrets and rising among its ranks till he reached Factotum. Falling for Zella (first love, maybe?), having his heart broken.

AND THEN HAVING HIS TITLE STRIPPED AT THE END!

CAN YOU FEEL THE BAD BLOOD ENERGY RISING?

'cause baby now we got bad blood...

I also believe that often things are not so one dimensional and that Zella is nothing short of deserving the position. She has undeniably had her struggles with gaining the power she now holds and being a woman of colour in a royal household. But I'm focusing of Rohan here, maybe I'll make a detailed post about Zella sometime later?

These are all only theories, but I can't help thinking that it's going to be something along these lines.

And then there's the fact that Jameson is not going to be a main character (*crying emoji cause I cant seem to insert one of the proper size*) Like he has so many unfinished threads and so much family drama to sort out.

We never got to see an independent confrontation of Ian over how he used Jameson to get what he wanted, or anything about the Prague mystery!!

And I know this might be a bit controversial with some of you, but I really want to see him and Avery fight. Because ofc they are a power couple and express their love to each other in such creative ways. BUT, but you get to know so much about a character when you see their world shifting, when the one thing that they believed to be an anchor is uprooted. How they act when the other is out of orbit. AND WE SIMPLY HAVEN'T SEEN THAT FOR JAMESON. I also might be holding out for a very hot romantic make up later on, but my point stands.

So there's my little (rather late) bit, but still.

Also to those who have read my work and have been so kind to shower me with kudos and comments, I want to apologise profusely. There is a lot to come, but just not at this moment when exams are leeching the life out of me, and trust me when I say I have the most elaborate plans for the future!

wanted to write out my thoughts on my own writing for a while so This is is That

i have so far finished only one (1) long-form writing project of mine. it's online, far more people read it than i ever thought would see it. like. so many more people. omfg.

this is still so daunting to me lmao, and i'm... proud of it! yes! but i also feel a little embarrassed about it tbh?

the story im specifically talking about is Odd Inheritance, which is a short little story i wrote about a trans girl realizing she's trans set loosely in pathfinder, and i have SO many thoughts about it now, about half a year after it's final chapter was released.

i wrote it in two weeks in a sprint during one of my study breaks, and i wrote it completely by the seat of my pants with no plan, and i think that shows. there are some extraneous plot threads in it that make no sense, side characters that feel very flat, and some characters appear less than i would've wanted them to. i dont share it around whenever i talk about my own stuff because im a little like "eh, i can do better now!" about it.

saying all that though, i reread it recently and i think it still has... charm? there are bits in there that i really really like, little nuggets in the story that elevate it despite some of the other parts perhaps being not as good, and overall, now that im more acquainted with how it actually is rather than the version i built up in my head, i actually shared it around a little more!

that is not to say that i dont think it could have used, perhaps, an extra editing run. an overall look at the plot threads and perhaps a pruning of some things, but hey, that comes with experience, right? i cant diss it too much, as, lets be honest here, its still the only story ive actually finished. (though i have at least two more fully outlined that im simply waiting for inspiration to kick me in the ass again so that i can start em proper, looking at you Dragon story that ive posted about before)

anyways. all thats to say that im currently in the process of rewriting it. im giving it that final little editing pass, mostly just... for me? it holds a special place in my heart as the thing that connected me with a bunch of other people that i've now gotten to know, and i want to do the ideas and character justice. if i manage to finish this little rewrite (this time with a plan, gasp) im gonna put it up on itch and actually do some more illustrations for it, hopefully.

anyways thats the end of my little thoughts on this, theyve been churning around in my head for a while now, just wanted to get em out. peace <3

he kind of mixes all english accents but he tries to go with just one (thats the only thing he fails at when it comes to languages but honestly he kinda likes the way he sounds talking like that)

very protective of his non-english friends when they make some grammar errors. he once punched arthur in the face when he tried to point out mistakes ivan did on the world conference

same with estonia and latvia

about estonia- hes kinda bitter about estonia wanting into nordic for one reason - basically 'potop' as its called aka swedish-polish war of 1660-1665 started by sweden taking 'inflanty' which was a partnof europe poland sweden and russia really faught each other for. and guees who inflanty was - yes, estonia.

i dont understand why people think latvia and estonia (lithuania for fucks sake but im ignoring him and let it stay that way) find feliks annoying - they loved him very much and still like him

poland cares about belarus a l o t and he hates lukashenko. feliks think he manipulates his little bela

ukraine lived with poland for c e n t u r i e s and theyre really close friends! (or even lovers if you will - ship whatever ya want sweeties)

when someone is talking really dumb bullshit he feels attacked and uncomfortable honestly. there were times when someone said something super stupid and ignorant and he just straight up vomited (not on this person of course, hed feel bad for the rest of eternity)
