Tumblr staff have started banning multiple transfem accounts for speaking up against the harassment campaigns aimed at transfems and lack of moderation to combat it going on and the ceo trying to hand wave all away.

i’m gonna answer these two at once because… yeah it’s easier.

i think its a shitty abuse of power. i have an ask in my drafts about the copypasta that was going around harassing trans women(whether they were tirfs and hated trans men or not, it’s irrelevant because it was still sexual harassment. it was also often sent to people who had jack shit to do with trans discourse) but at this point things have gotten so much bigger. in the uk an unnamed trans girl at the roller rink was almost stabbed to death, a 16 year old nonbinary student in oklahoma got beat to death in the bathrooms, brianna ghey’s murderers were finally charged with murder and i believe it was legally classified as a hate crime. on top of that with all the legislation passing…. shit is getting scary and it feels like this is only the beginning.

you can also tie it back to how trans women’s existence just… as trans women is seen as inherently sexual and in need of regulation. i’ve seen this enforced socially- women often tell other women “friendly” tips on how to conform to femininity with threat of punishment, and the scale to which trans women are subjected to this is disgusting. whatever you do is sexual because no matter what you do it will be considered inappropriate- so here’s our top ten tips on how to conform! but here it was just straight up censorship on… posts about bugs bunny? fully clothed transition timelines? venting frustration at staff for not dealing with the people harassing her? and for the ceo to threaten to get the fbi involved, if i remember correctly, is just fucking ridiculous.

i’ve also seen posts on other trans women being banned for just… talking about this? which really worries me. banning her was one thing, and that sucked ass enough on its own. but to subtly threaten users by saying “if you call us out, we’ll destroy your blog” is a whole nother level.

it also worries me how many people are, AGAIN, making this a transmasc vs transfem issues. crabs in a bucket; or something like that.

there are some valid points of “where was the solidarity when we were being sexually harassed and threatened?” and like… i get it. a few months ago me and some of my mutuals were getting RIDICULOUS amounts of sexual harassment(on my main blog, not much here) and we were told to get over it and it was just bait and ext ext. but…. why aren’t we extending the sympathy we wanted at the time? it’s so weird that coming from the “be nice and respectful to everyone, regardless of belief, we’re all human” crowd it cant be bothered to be brought up unless our own issues are being talked about. i’m also worried about how a large chunk of people are blaming this on trans men who talk about our oppression, or use this to “prove” we dont have it bad as if we weren’t ignored when similar shit was happening to us a few months back, or even saying we don’t have any problems at all and we should shut up and listen to other trans people.

it also worries me how many people are getting banned for speaking up for her(predesterone? im not good at remembering urls). how the censoring of trans bodies is also being defended and enforced- “she was threatening me!”. threats by cis radfems arent taken seriously- i saw that the other day with that one user comparing trans people to hitler and my reports doing jack shit- but when a trans woman lashes out because the staff didnt defend her, THATS a serious threat?

i left twitter after a month this year because it’s just intolerable, and i’ve never been on tiktok and instagram just lowkey sucks and reddit is… reddit. this has been the chillest and safest place for trans people so far, and seeing that get burnt to the ground just makes me wonder where all of us will go.

@staff, treat your userbase, especially your trans userbase, fairly. it’s not too much to ask.

im sorry but i need to geek out somewhere and screaming into the void on tumblr is less likely to get me flayed than on twitter, especially if i get terms wrong. plus i can do a read more and yall can click into the tech talk if you want to verse it bombarding your twitter timelines

so idk if i only liked it or if i actually put it in my queue but i saw a post that talked about a few pieces of tech that focus on user repairs and being sustainable (fairphone and frameworks laptop) and after doing some more research into what they have to offer i actually really excited that these products are finely hitting the us market and that people are moving away from the belief that super smooth streamlined glassy = the future. being able to reliably repair and keep what you have alive verse throwing the whole thing away when maybe all you needed to do is add more ram to your current laptop (something that i would do with my laptop to keep using it for a few more years if it wasnt glued shut and i was at risk of cracking the screen) or swap out a fuse.

i know big corporations dont like it but i truly do believe with how much tech we use on a daily basis that the way that we are going to be more environmentally friendly is to move back to tech that we can hang onto for as long as we can and to recycle and then reuse what we cant. like with the frameworks laptop. i saw that they just partnered with coolermaster to create a case specifically so that you can reuse you motherboard, cpu, etc and make a portable workstation. you could dual wield with the laptop you just upgraded if you want to dedicate specific tasks to one or the other. they also specifically mentioned that you could screw it into the back of a monitor and create your own all in one. guys thats cool as shit??? if you had a 3d printer and some time you could even create that yourself

on top of the actual hardware part moving to open source programs when your able. when i update my desktop i plan on running linux. it might have a learning curve compared to windows but in terms of performance??? ive heard that it runs smoother even on older machines, that its more efficient because isnt running stuff in the background that tracks your data and shit. now i understand that not everyone can do that because there are some programs that dont play nice with linux but for my needs at least it does everything i would need it to. and maybe a couple years down the road we do figure out how to run these programs on certain flavors of linux since its open source and people fiddle with it so much. (still looking for alternatives to like word and excel though, i use google docs since its free but i want to move away from them as much as i can too since they laid of their youtube music team (i believe?? it might of been a different branch) for trying to unionize)

if anyone knows of any other smaller companies that actually focus on sustainability and user repairability please let me know. theres certain pieces of tech that i think are now unfortunately behind a software repair paywall, things that used to be just machines and are gaining more bells and whistles like cars and refrigerators if that makes sense. but the more we push for these things to be repairable by us the consumers id hope that would change, or there would at least be options that dont need specific companies to repair them or else they blow up

i’m quite new to f1, i missed the big shit show that was 2021 and icl i’m quite happy because i’m not sure i would have survived going into the tranches for Max as he won his first wdc. however, i’m happy to do so this year and it’s been even more enjoyable that i know people believe and would do the same, especially you!

when i entered the f1 fandom, you were one of the first i started to follow and to read. you’ve always seemed to be one of the kindest and you are, truly. your writing has saved me from sad nights and i’m very very grateful for that. i don’t know if you’ll remember but 3 weeks ago you wrote a lestappen prompt just because i told you i had had a bad day. that’s the kind of thing you do for others in here, and that is just so nice to do when you’re new to the fandom. i’ve always felt truly welcome and it’s hugely thanks to you!

now you’re totally right. the fia is being unfair (euphemism) and they’re just acting like a bunch of clowns. the whole organization seems to be acting against Max and it’s truly disgusting because he is such a big part of their sport. like, truly, the sport wouldn’t be the way it is today without Max. one thing sure, he left for the future his mark on this sport, and many many many children look up to him and he’s going to be their role model. so when the fia is bothering me as they are currently, i tell myself that they would be nothing without Max and i feel better, because he’s really an icon that they don’t deserve yet he stays because racing is a huge part of his life. and idk, as long as he gives them a chance, i give them a chance, albeit part of me giving them a chance is just to witness Max shine and shit on their obvious bias.

and it warms my heart that so many drivers backed up Max : Charles, Pierre, Esteban, Kevin, George, Alex, Lewis… everyone knows that Max is one of the best drivers if not the best and that the fia is doing a terrible job. maybe it’s not enough but at least we have that!

just know that i love your anti era and that i wish it would suffice. i wish you’d let all your anger be on this blog or to your friends or in your writing and that it’d be enough but sometimes all you need is a break and if you feel like it’s something you need, we’ll support you during this time.

To anyone reading this I know that I am being overly dramatic but I have just had a bit of a rough week and F1 is normally something that brings me joy so it’s sad that it seems to be going in such a negative direction. 

2021 was indeed very stressful, I was not on Tumblr then but I was on twitter which was not good!! It was actually the reason I deleted my twitter account because it became too toxic. I mostly stay away from there now. 

I’m so glad you have felt welcomed into the fandom and that in some way I have been able to help with that. You are definitely right, supporting someone is easier when you know there are others who are also rooting for them and sending them the love they deserve. 

Max is truly an icon of the sport. He has had to put up with so much rubbish over the years and I cant’ believe how well he seems to deal with the pressure. No matter what they do or say his name will go down in the history books as one of, if not, the greatest of all time. Going on to other racing series and achieving great things will also cement that. I also do believe that he will do great things for younger generations coming into the sport and he will do this without requiring fanfare but because he loves the sport. If certain sections of the sport embraced him as much as they should they would see what an amazing ambassador he is for racing.

I have been pleased that a few times this season, when the media has tried to make a big deal out of something, a lot of the other drivers have stood up for Max. Unfortunately I do feel that there are drivers that may use Max’s ‘reputation’ and try and play up to the good v bad thing to sway the public and the penalties handed out. It’s a tactic I find rather cowardly and I was very happy that when we had Max and Charles fighting at the front Charles did not try and revert to this tactic. 

I try not to be too open with all my anti thoughts because I don’t want to invite lots of people arguing with me in my inbox but I am sure most of you can probably work out how I feel about certain things without me having to explicitly state it 😂

I will probably return to writing at some point point because I have loved trying to develop and improve my writing style and I love writing lestappen (and I will continue with my ongoing story because I think that it would be unfair to stop!)

I decided to do my own research (mainly cause I was curious) but... I can't find much? let me rephrase it - I did find the allegations from 6ish months ago, that he's going to court with one(?) of them, but that's... all? I didn't find the court's verdict, confirmations, or him admitting either... and any post or video I find has both the OP and the comments mostly on his side and believing that it's either not true or true but not grooming, even people who say they're not his fans or don't even like him.

T/ommy and T/ubbo have both subtly mentioned not liking the finale and that Dr*m had AWFUL communication during the last like 6+ months of the smp.

He also suddenly showed up in T/ubbo's chat lurking while T/ubbo happened to be mentioning he'd do his own research on the grooming situation instead of blindly siding with Dr*m and it was some shit out of a horror movie is2g, he suddenly dmed T/ubbo out of nowhere during it on discord saying they'd talk about it after T/ubbo wasn't streaming. Basically sounds like he was gonna bias T/ubbo about his innocence. Like he hadn't been in chat all stream long but SUDDENLY he was there the second the topic came up. But the d/smp ccs also can't say anything about the situation since it's a legal matter, so a handful of ccs have just stated/implied they don't support him other ways

I don't know where the TERF stuff even come from, but I'm very open with my political views and yeah, I was a radfem in 2019 or something. I also was a very vulnerable sad russian teenager. I know not a lot of people on tumblr aware of all the intricacies of russian internet scene, but I assume you, anon, have some knowledge, because you called me a TERF in the first place.

There's an internet phenomenon called "alt-right pipeline" and I fell in the simular thing called "TERF pipeline". This shit is inevitable for every single afab person that speaks russian. It's a really big thing. I don't say it's an excuse to be a bigot, but I was 12 when i first touched the internet. I was insecure, very fucking poor and spiteful. Also I had and (still have) some hormone problems and was generally a pretty ugly girl so coped with it by drawing ponies and hating on elusive and mysterious "men in skirts" these smart twitter girlies always talked about.

To be perfectly honest, I genuinely don't understand what russian TERFs are fighting for or against, I was in this shit for solid few years and still have no idea. I mean, now it's illegal to be transgender in Russia (a real law), but it wasn't a win for these angry teenage girls, it was a win for genocidal bigoted russian government, the same one that legalized domestic violence (also a law. its officially not a real crime in this country). I went off the topic and started ranting about my frustrations with the government again FUCK 😭

I tried to say that russian internet is genuinely a fucked up place, but I lived in the middle of Siberia in a village, ideologically only had my orthodox grandma, racist older brother and TERFs on the internet. I only started to learn english a few years ago, so i didn't have enough options before that. Or, to better words, didn't have enough knowledge to be a better person.

I'm really really and sincerely fucking sorry for that. Like, truly. It was really fucked up and I'm ashamed of stuff I said and supported blindly. I now have resources and have some media literacy in my disposal and basic understanding of english to educate myself about the topics I'm talking about. I'm trying my hardest to show support and love to all my queer friends and mutuals, and as an artist I do all I can to be inclusive, not because I feel the need to, but because I want to.

I have no right to speak about trans people and their issues and I won't. I don't know if Sharky is as bad as anon described, because I'm biased (this is my character after all) and not educated enough to acknowledge all the stereotypes associated with transmasculinity. I would really enjoy to hear opinions of my fellow transmen. To address some of my choices regarding his design and writing:

- He wears pink, because it's a quirky color that doesn't show up much in Fallout. Never meant to de-masculate him or to ridicule him. It's my favorite color, after red and brown, which are the primary colors of Wendy.

- He has a silly personality and a carefree attitude because 1) I'm projecting and 2) Wendy needed a character to balance out her awkward and moody autism

- He's a girl's boy and has wives. I didn't have the reason to make him not like girls. I wanted him to be an example of positive masculinity and solidarity. He is a straight dude who loves women. Not just sexually attracted to them or sees them as pets. They are his partners. With their own personalities and lives. Also I wanted to make a full circle 😭😭😭 I'm asexual and bi-romantic. I like boys, girls, all between and beyond boys and girls and don't really think sex is a big thing for me. Aletus likes boys, Sharky likes girls and Wendy likes when there's no sex. Pretty simple, I think.

Hope this explains why Sharky is the way he is. Would still really appreciate an opinion from a trans person. Or any kind of feedback really, because I've been feeling really fucking bad lately and can't objectively reflect on my choices. Also more questions about my OCs are very much welcome. man tumblr is just. actively going to shit. i know we've had "going to shit" scares in the past and things have been bad and we've just kinda managed with them, but lately its gotten like...terrible. i dont know how any of this site is gonna come back from this at all. and that makes me very upset b/c ive been here since 2012, i have an incredibly large amount of memories + art stashed on my blogs. ive always come back to tumblr but idk if thatll stay true for much longer. i just dont think with the current Bullshit happening its..sustainable?? as a platform for me anymore.

..which sucks, bc my only other platforms are twitter, insta, and bluesky? we all know twitter sucks major shit. you cant pay me to post my art regularly on insta with that cropping + quality + algorithm. bsky still needs some development and my follower base is WAYYYY lower on there than my other platforms AND theres no dm's yet so i basically cant use it for business as of right now.

i rely on my art business for income completely. i have been getting most if not all of my business from tumblr for a while, so if i have to leave, idk whats going to happen to my business.

some part of me has a little shred of hope that maybe things will get better. we as a userbase have the power of numbers and i believe things CAN get changed for the better if enough of us band together, which it seems like is in the process of happening. but i also dont want to bank on that, and i dont blame a single person who wants to ditch this website for good.

see, the thing is, people think that blogging is dead when platforms like tiktok and instagram are thriving. but actually, said platforms are the reason why blogging is still relevant.

well, when you blog, its basically just you posting about your day, what you eat, what activities did you do and so forth. it can be whatever you want it to be. there are various reasons as to why people are on tiktok. we were there because of covid.

so, yup. okay, not everyone knows that people go to tumblr to read self-published works of fictions. yes, reading a fanfic on someone's tumblr account on this website is still considered looking at someone's blog (and appreciating them like i do, i've been a loyal fan and reader of several authors on this site). people publish their works here is still considered as blogging because blogging can be anything.

tumblr started and has always been a site where people are able to blog whatever they want, in whatever form (text, gifs, arts, etc). as a result, users as able to look (and appreciate by interacting with the posts by liking, commenting and reblogging) at one's works because it also acts as an archive.

blogging can go from posting lifehacks, tips and advices for people to use as aids as well as to guide them so that they can relate, making them form an online presence.

so when i tell you that the reason why people are still blogging (and interacting with the blogs) because of tiktok, i meant it.

okay, so i mightve made a mistake. to clarify, booktok isnt the only reason why people are into blogging. anime fans, tv series fans like supernatural, movie fans, comic fans, animated fans like atsv fans (specifically miguel fans [aka me]) are the reason why people go to tumblr to blog.

people from all walks of life, specifically if their background is them being a fan of some type of media, is bound to use tumblr to either write a blog (in forms of fanfics/drabbles/oneshot etc) or to interact with them.

and that, ladies, gents and enbies, is the reason as to why blogging is still a fighting tooth and nail to stay alive. its the reason why people still use tumblr to blog. its the reason why tumblr is the place fans go to, to blog and do whatever they want on this app/site. sure, they go to wattpad or ao3 (hell, maybe even fanfiction.net if that site is still alive), but tumblr is one of the platforms (arguable the easiest one to navigate) to use for blogging and such.

and that concludes my opinion. blogging is still fighting for their life, even in the age of tiktok and whatever theyre doing over there (pretty much its vlogging, you know a video type of blogging)

(my right wrist hurt as we speak and i kinda went beyond the word limit so forgiefe mac or whatever it is they say in old/archaic english to be pardoned)

oh! if they ever would shut down tumblr, i would simply off myself cus what the hell am i gonna do? ಥ_ಥ

even when they dont know what theyre saying

they get a bit of information from some unreliable source on the internet. tiktok, tumblr, twitter, etc. and they form an opinion. they talk and they talk and they make claims with no evidence and believe anyone that they think should be right. they hate everything anyone says to correct them. because we dont like being wrong.

but they have no stake in the game. this doesnt affect them, it doesnt touch them. i want to yell and punch and batter it into them that they cant say those things. but they can. what reason do they have not to? just because it makes me feel like shit? just because it hurts people? thats not a good enough reason.

and i cant say anything because theyll hate me. and i dont even know that im right. so i dont talk about it with anyone. because the only sane ones in my life are the adults and i cant tell them that younger ones are crazy because they wouldnt understand.

im drowning in misinformation and theres nothing i can do about it

tldr; she blocked me abt a misunderstood joke and then instead of just. keeping it pushing she further told lies abt me and called me names!! yay!! and i have no way of verifying if the two mutuals we share(d) believe her side bcuz i was never asked abt it by them

it started on twitter n she replied to one of my tweets "the way nobody gaf" and we joke back and forward... i said "stop bullying me youre a bully im telling my mom its only my 12th day out here i dont know" OBVIOUSLY still joking... right?

then i before i know it im blocked on twt, tumblr, and spotify? 😭😭 i thought this was because i replied to HER initial reply with "-is what your parents said when you told them what you major in" (a little harsh, i admit, but we were JOKING.)

anw, i sent her anons on my old account apologizing and trying to explain but she just kept replying with "idc" and shit like that. she even posted scs of my tweets on her tumblr? to get people to attack me? i guess? but it never worked LOLL.

anw she called me a bunch of things behind my back like "a bitch who cant take a joke" odd. she called me a bitch a LOT during the situation as if its the only insult in her tiny ass vocabulary.

when i sent her an ask on my old account i called her a horrible person (not for blocking me, but for.... intentionally twisting my words to fit her narrative?) and she didnt post the ask instead she made a post that was like "whine waaaah waaaaah cunt called me a horrible person because i broke the mutual youre so in love with me bitch i can curate my own experience bitch if im not feeling you anymore its not that deep for me cunt"

i sent her another ask telling her that i DIDNT call her a horrible person for blocking me, but for twisting my words because sge didnt understand (or want to understand) that i was joking the whole time.

after she replied "the way idgaf" and reblogged the post saying "we shoukd make this a new copypasta" and then made a post like "omg she (referring to me) was really in love with me wow so obsessed just keep it pushing like i wont tell you to kill yourself and move on." and yeah.

since then, i got softblocked by one of our mutuals on here (not anywhere else tho so???)

but its funny. maybe if she communicated through misunderstandings and didnt insult people everytime she got upset and stopped using aave and liking posts with the n word in them despite being nonblack and stopped feeling sorry for herself constantly and stopped setting herself up to be the most unlikeable and obnoxious person in the room she'd have some irl friends! sad :(
