[thinks abt the nosferatu again] i should look into their requiem bane bc it seems like v5 was trying to go in that direction, or like find a middle ground between them but just ended up making it seem like a watered down version of the vtm bane. hrm

THE "after all, you and i... we're the same. true kindred spirits" AND WHAT YOU SAID ABT MANIPULATION? thats fits sooooo well somehow i can see it
DJSJJF I MEAN LIKE. there's a lot that can go into that line!!! i'm probably reading into it more than necessary!!! but it's just really interesting to me that he says it considering they're first meeting in the main story 🤲 and i dunno if it's intentional or not or true or not, but he does nevertheless frame his words (this line and along with the other quotes i mentioned, too!) in a way where mc is the subject— which is a manipulation tactic that... somehow i haven't seen any of the LI's use on her like this as of yet !! so it stuck out to me 🤔
but like. there's two sides to it and i'm going to. analyze his dialogue under the cut,
(1); using "I" statements directs the subject of the conversation to you yourself. it's usually done by starting the sentence with "i". this helps to avoid pointing fingers, especially when touching sensitive topics. it's used when you want to say something without making the other person recede/back away from you or otherwise gets defensive, because they feel blamed/accused for something! it also shows vulnerability, which makes it easier for others to sympathize with you subconsciously!
for example, "i felt upset when we argued about this earlier" is nicer to hear than "you made me feel upset when we argued about this earlier".
similarly zayne's line in snowy serenity— "i need you. i have never denied that." contrasts how mc says things like "you should stay quiet while i'm still pitying you" and "you're better off not talking" even "the person you like may not feel the same way". the first (zayne) conveys more vulnerability, whereas mc's lines convey more harshness—the same way that zayne uses "you" statements when he scolds her!
(2) using "you" statements directs the subject of conversation to the person you're talking to. it usually involves starting the sentence with "you", and it generally gives off a harsh, authoritative tone. it's imperative, usually—it's commonly used for scolding or chastising, and it's difficult to use sometimes because it can come off as very accusatory. HOWEVER. it can also be used to feed on things like empathy and a sense of belongingness. because the subject on the conversation is on them, they feel special, and seen, and understood, sometimes even wanted—it's one way to garner rapport with someone, and you can even get them to talk about themselves this way! and it's normal human nature for humans to want to talk about themselves, which is why it can work!
for example, "but you're here now, and that's what matters the most." is more attuned to your presence being there, while "i'm so glad you're here now, that's what matters the most." is more attuned to what they feel about you being there. there's a difference depending on what vibe you want to convey in the conversation.
or, off the top of my head there's xavier's line "you seem to bring me happiness that sleep can't give" that sounds easier on the ears and is more heart-fluttering than "i feel happier spending the day with you than sleeping", or something along the lines—it's about what you do to him, not about what he feels.
and so in the dialogues we see so far, sylus seems very fond of using "you"-statements... which like.... i think i can only remember zayne using them the first time we meet him in the main story because he scolds mc on her health, or something? 😭
but again considering that they're just meeting, and yet it already seems like he's making a very conscious decision to choose his words in this way....
it's not even in the same scolding way like we see with zayne/mc, nor is it in a gentle way like with xavier's line
it's like it's deliberately played out to spin the narrative that yes, mc is the guest, the star of the show, and she deserves every bit of attention in this moment.
"you went through all that trouble to enter the N109 zone"
(1) places a card of sympathy (whether mocking or not) because the fact is that the N109 zone is difficult to get into and;
(2) regardless of the situation, mc's efforts to get in are recognized, and she is seen for it.
"i must fulfil my duty as your host"
(1) starts of with "i" so it's technically an i-statement, but closes of with a variant of the pronoun "you". mc is not the subject of the sentence, but mc is the object. in a way, she's still the focal point;
(2) the point could be to soothe being "pointed at"/accused by the harshness of the previous you-statement, while not driving away the focus from mc—she's still seen and recognized in this case, enough so to be treated as a guest, and sylus the host.
(3) it's fun to note that this is the second clause of his statement; it's a follow-up to the previous one. he chooses to address her effort first before going on to shift the harshness of his words, and allow her to relax a little by placing responsibility on him as the host instead. because all a guest has to do is sit back and relax.
(4) a bonus bc!! the introduction of power dynamics! which is an interesting point! because! with hosts and guests—the guests might be getting special treatment, but the host still runs the show! sylus is still able to insinuate that he is the one in control right now, that this is his territory.
"after all, you and i... we're the same. true kindred spirits."
(1) starts off with "you" and is therefore a you-statement BUT...
(2) it's formulated to be almost sympathetic. it's a way of saying, "i understand your plight, your struggles," without being outwardly vulnerable about it. so sylus gets to keep his position of power, while simultaneously:
(3) playing into the theme of belongingness. mc is in an area she's not familiar with, yet sylus uses words that give her the sense of belongingness she likely wants to feel somehow—because humans will always want to feel that need.
(4) it's attempting to simulate trust and, again, make her needs feel seen and understood; therefore making it seem as if, on the emotional front (disregarding the conditions we don't actually know about right now), like mc is obligated to agree.
and like. you know. the pattern!!!!!! it fits with a lot of his other dialogue too and like... generally? it feels like a conscious choice from what we see of him im the trailer. and i have genuinely no idea how intentional that's supposed to be, but because of that, there are hints of subtle manipulation in his dialogue that made me so interested in it LMAOFJSJFJSJJF
LIKE IM PROBABLY OVERTHINKING?? bc who are we kidding right? we don't know anything about this guy or what situation they got caught up with
YET... yk... its a fun thing to try and pick apart
because again it's like. if it's true? we get to see how that facade melts away into genuineness when we realize he actually cared for her. which is like. just as fun <3

So i kinda have this idea of Corrupted Vlad AU i want to write that takes place after ¨Kindred Spirits¨.
After the cloning event, Vlad loses sense of his own identity for getting too consumed by trying to fulfill his ghost emotional drive, which is finding someone that loves him but for him this usually involves controlling people. He transforms into a ¨full ghost¨ in the sense that he is always in his ghost form and he can't return to his human form. His ghost form looks different, resembling Spectra's true form and Johnny's Shadow.
He can't remember who he really is. It's like he still has his own memories but they are all blurry and he can't access to them. He isn't able to distinguish well from enemy to ally so he just go to fight mode whenever he sees a ghost or person. However, there are certain people that his is able to recognize to some extent like Danny and Maddie, who are connected to his emotional drive.
So one day Danny finds him on his mansion in Wisconsin and tries to learn what it is happening. He learns Vlad is well, corrupted, and that he can go back to his normal self if he is reminded of who he is. Danny decides to help Vlad with getting his memories back and along the way he gets to know other sides of Vlad that he never knew about. You also get the whole thing of ¨why I'm helping him if we are enemies¨ and Vlad going through some emotional crisis as he remembers.
Yes, this is in part based on a previous idea i had ¨Hollow AU¨. But i thought about changing some things so it has a more unique take in my opinion.

Being a freak of nature is hard. Being the freak of nature spawn of two other freaks of nature is harder. Being the manifestation of the trauma of the two biggest fucking idiots on the planet is downright unbearable. Being stuck in a damned thermos for fucking YEARS? Torture.
It's only natural to want to burn all of existence to the ground. To make everyone else hurt exactly as much as he does. Who cares about the universe? No one who lives there ever loved him. Not all of him. Not the ugly parts.
And there's nothing left of him but ugly parts.
Danny, fool that he is, couldn't bear the vision of what he could become, so he quite literally bottled him up and ripped him out of reality and asked the undead god of time to pretty please keep this awful thing on your shelf where I don't have to look at it.
He couldn't even sleep in the thermos. Did time even pass outside the insulated metal walls of the thermos, in the halls of Clockwork's lair? It felt like eternity. Existing without sensation, drifting in limbo, unable to even move... Surely this was hell. What he deserved.
And when confronted with that wicked thermos again, all the oceans of anger and rage and hatred parted, and everyone could see what he really was.
Lonely. And scared.
He didn't want to be alone again.
He wasn't a version of Danny that was driven to madness. He was a Vlad who refused to accept that he was all alone, and he was a Danny who couldn't bear the reality of how alone he really was.
And more than that, he was that kindred energy drawn together into one being.
How dare others have families? How could anyone even think to feel things like joy and comfort when he was so alone? Didn't anyone CARE?!
And then this reality's Vlad gave him a body. He looked like Danny again. He was human again, something that can eat and sleep and shit.
When he was pulled from the stasis tank and given a towel to wipe the slime off his skin - he had SKIN again, real human skin with blood vessels and a pleasant pinkish hue instead of undead grey - Vlad called him Daniel.
"How do you feel, Daniel?"
He winced despite himself.
"What is it?"
"I... I don't know what to call myself," he admitted. "I AM Danny, but you know as well as I that half of me is you."
Vlad furrowed his brow. "I see." He sat in silence for a moment, then asked, "Would you like to choose a name? It doesn't have to be right now."
He shrugged. "I suppose."
Vlad placed a hand on his shoulder. "I can't imagine what you feel right now. You've been through so much..."
He wrapped his arms around himself, and it struck him how natural it felt to be so small again. "You know some of it. You lived it, to a point."
"Right." Vlad slouched, looking away. "Driven by what I thought was vengeance. But all along, I was just afraid of accepting the truth. That I was alone."
He interjected, "So was Danny. He was driven to cleaving himself in two because he couldn't bear the loneliness either."
He continued, "The two of you are more alike than you realize. Not only because you're both half-ghost. You're two of a kind. Why else would the worst parts of the two of you fuse so seamlessly... into this?" He gestured at himself. "Selfish, petty, vindictive... lonely..."
Vlad took the towel and ruffled it over his soaked hair. "I wanted Daniel to be my son. Not just to punish Jack. I truly wanted him by my side."
He chuckled. "I remember." He drummed his fingers on his knee, feeling the bones vibrate under his flesh from the gentle impact.
"If it's any consolation, he wanted you in his own way." He shrugged. "I can't speak to how he feels about you now, after everything that's happened..."
"That's alright."
"...but if I were to guess, I'd say part of him is still drawn to you."
Vlad raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
He was about to reply when his stomach gurgled. His eyebrows shot upward and he clutched his gut. "I'm... hungry."
A small smile crept onto Vlad's face. "So you are. What would you like to eat?"
He looked down at his feet and thought about it. "I don't know. What would you eat?"
"I was planning to have lobster with bechamel and a side of asparagus."
He nodded slowly. "That sounds good."
Vlad laughed. "Better than Daniel's usual diet of Nasty Burger, right?"
He snarled, baring his teeth - flat human teeth, not his fangs, so some of the bite was lost.
"Not a fan of Nasty Burger? Neither am I."
He glared at Vlad. "I do NOT want to talk about that."
Vlad held up his hands in surrender. "Fair enough."
Lunch... was nice. He hadn't realized how much he missed eating. Properly eating, not just tearing people's flesh with his teeth.
Vlad kept looking up at him from across the table and smiling. He tried hiding it from him, only doing it when he thought he wasn't looking, but it was obvious.
He didn't hold it against the man. He enjoyed the company, too. It was nice to not be alone anymore.

It's been so long since I read the series... but I suddenly remembered about "Abide in the Wind" so I read the last few chapters and I'm getting enormous flashbacks, that was such a memorable piece and it still looks as beautiful as I remember-
spoilers for the ENTIRE PIECE AND PLOTLINE: So, a godly figure(dragon) falls in love with a human being. But she's so selfless and always gives up on her being and dies in every timeline. He couldn't bear to accept that, so he tries to bring forth a reality where she lives to be the truth but that is never possible, and he grows flawed and insane in the process. He starts to bring misery through collecting souls to replenish his energy to reattempt on rewriting the timelines, and the world starts getting destroyed. The entire world wants him gone, the flawed god and disaster that he's become.
The girl he loved and wished to bring back comes to recognize this in one timeline she's come across, and she's chosen as the successor, to become the next dragon(godly being) that should kill and replace him. But then she decides that she... despite her very selfless nature, started to have a single want. She wants him too.
So she decides to give up her past, present and future as a god to bring him back, and the laws of that world gets rewritten, she saves him and they get to be together with everything that's happened... becoming a past that lasts only as an alternate reality. Everyone lives happily in a rewritten world she brought, she forgets that she was once a god but he remembers
I... haha.. I'm getting really REALLY similar vibes with them in regard to hikaai rn I am not sure if this is a good comparison but,
That godly being started out very empty and prone to change. He was so pure and innocent, unknowing of everything, and that girl he fell in love with became the single thing he wanted. He was like a blank piece of paper. He actually ruined her life unintentionally by entering it, because her life was so peaceful before he came along and everything started spiraling into madness after he did... but she never really blamed him for it.
Anyhow, that girl doesn't respect her own life while she immensely cares for other beings. She kept dying because she disregarded herself. He realized it'd happen in every timeline, so in desperation and despair, he started trying to change fate- in which ultimately resulted in destroying himself to the core. As far as becoming a natural disaster.
What he goes through really feels similar to what Hikaru's going through after Ai's death, the difference is that... Abide in the Wind is pure fantasy. The dragon, he actively tries to collect souls to use as a source of power to reverse his beloved death and hundreds of thousands fall into misery in the process, the whole world starts collapsing into havoc.. well, what Hikaru may be kind of similar in essence you know. He started out to be this really, sweet and kindred soul but he utterly starts breaking down into insanity after the only person he loved winds up dead (and he believes that's his fault too;). He can't bear the fact that she doesn't exist anymore, so he starts coming up with some sort of reasoning to bring her closer to him (I am not sure if he thought that up on his own because it's so bizarre) and if what the songs are implying are accurate of what he's been doing, he's actually BEEN collecting some sort of "light"; I think that may have to do with people with the star eyes. So.. yeah. He could've been making some sort of sacrifices out of desperation too(goodness...) If he were to be a god.. -_- I wonder if he could have done the same thing to bring Ai back?; I wonder... he used to be so soft though!!!!! I wouldn't have cared about him this much if he wasn't like that, he's just.. broken apart...;
well, the dragon got saved. His beloved came to save him and give him back his life.
Idk about Kamiki. But I see how these sorts of stories.. never fail to get me intrigued.
wanting to reverse fate/being unable to accept loss and wishing the dead back, that's a theme that's explored a lot in fiction. It can't happen in real life, but like what they say in the piece itself as it begins, onk IS fiction.
What I can sense is that the character is suffering so bad and he's been so alone!!;; The songs and the plotline keep screaming that to me so it really bothers me, it just keeps grabbing my attention because this was a character that didn't deserve what's happened to him. Maybe he does now, but it's just horrible to be a witness of the types of emotional pains he's been going through, with it never being properly tended to even once. I don't even know if we're supposed to/ allowed to pity him because everything is still vague, so is he responsible for harming Ai or not, I am 99.9% positive he ISN'T, but the manga still just doesn't tell us that in a solid sense and leaves us hanging right, so it's so frustrating to wait. I'm sure they want to do something about this character and that's why it's been saved till last, but they better make it good and satisfying enough. I'm not asking for so much, I'm not even sure if he can be "saved" in a proper sense because he already lost the one single thing he loved more than his life. I just; want him to be addressed and explained properly, this guy has himself a story, but he never gets to tell his own tale. Because Aqua hates him and decides he must die. Everyone besides Ai doesn't want him. Not a single soul helped him when he needed it as a child except Ai, that's so unfair because he was a good one. It's just.. not a happy thing to watch. He can rot in hell if he deserves it??? But I want to know what happened!! They'll show it to us. It's just that I'm not in the future yet so I can't make anything out of it in the present. I actually have an idea where this will eventually head, I just don't have the patience because I feel things. They talk about pain and when that happens, you can't help but being stressed, right!
The final chapters of Abide in the Wind was beautiful, it's very colorful and memorable, and the writing for it was exemplar and poetic!! I definitely can say that's one of the pieces that influenced me as an artist... If you like stories where characters who share a bond eventually end up saving each other's fate, it may be worth a read! Reana is still one of my fav female protagonists, she's...so selfless. And that ties very strongly with how things play out in the story, it's why she was chosen in more ways than one.

Hi there! So, I had the idea: What if it's a KiriBaku x Fem!Reader, Kinda, "My Babysitter's A Vampire" Idea, where Reader is Human, and KiriBaku are recently turned Vamps (or the other way around if you prefer) and Reader is attacked by another Vamp, and the boys have a moment where they have to decide to either save the reader or let them be turned, but dooming them to a life as Vamps (again, can be the other way around.) And you can decide how it ends, cause I'd love to see your take on it. I hope your Day/Night is good, and that you're well. 😊
Kindreds (Vampires!KiriBaku X Reader)
-------------------------
Note: Hey extra. Fucking had to write this cause the others were missing and left me to run the account.
Okay and we're back. Hi darling, of course I can indulge you. Get ready for an angsty fic because this goes real sad. If you wanted something different, feel free to request again ;)
I have never seen My Babysitter Is A Vampire so this will be inspired by the Vampire The Masquerade campaign I am in. (DND sort of roleplay) I rolled a d20 to get the outcome of this story.
Hope I managed to fulfil your desires.

Masterlist - Requests: OPEN

SPOILER ALERT TO RECENT MHA CHAPTERS

Tumblr media
The rush they felt after feeding was incredible, the bloodlust that made their eyes pulse, their fangs come out from their gums as their body trembled with adrenaline. Their unbeating heart had never felt more alive, pumping their body to move faster. They woke up the next morning tired, laid in a forest they don't remember stepping foot into. Their sire was interesting to say the least, a vampire who taught them to always respect the essence they received, to hide their tracks and respect the domain. They had met him a few times, Todoroki Shouto. He seemed the same age as them, but he reassured them he had been a vamp for far longer than he appeared.
They remembered their doting girlfriend at home, the one who always made sure they were safe and the first thing they checked was their phones. 10 missed calls each, 20 messages each and a few voicemails with a worried voice. They looked at eachother and panicked, Kirishima instantly calling their girlfriend as they started walking towards their shared apartment. She picked up on the first ring, "Where the fuck where you?! Do you know how worried I still am? Couldn't you have at least sent a text message?" She sounded so tired and her voice was slightly hoarse.
"We know baby. We're so sorry we just got caught up with Sero and Denki. You know how drunk they get haha." Kirishima laughed it off, hoping she'd let it go. Bakugou scoffed and called the two, vamps like them, hoping they'd get the message and go along if ever asked. They hated this, hated lying to their partner. She was their sunshine, their lifeline. They felt like they were cheating on her, like she was on the side as they lived their lives. They had managed to satiate their hunger for only three days before they had to leave. They were still fledglings after all. They needed more blood than the rest of the older kindred.
They got to their apartment, not seeing the gaze of a vampire behind them, as they closed the door behind them. Their girlfriend wasn't at home, probably at work. They threw themselves onto the couch and held eachother. "We have to tell her. We can't keep her in the dark. It feels so wrong. I can't do this anymore." Kirishima said as he was being pet by Bakugou. "I know shitty hair, but we can't risk her coming into this life either. You know her. She couldn't handle near killing someone just to satiate her own needs. She cries at the little ads to adopt a kitten or wild animal I have never heard of, none the less an actual human." He said, near grumbling as he used his free hand to angrily wipe his face.
A few hours passed by and they got a call. Bakugou instantly picked up seeing the calling ID being their grilfriend, expecting to hear their girlfriend's voice but instead hearing a random's voice. "So, come to the abandoned warehouse just outside of the city. Bring your sire. We have some...unsettled business." Before Bakugou could even get a word in the call cut. Kirishima was already calling Todoroki, getting their apartment keys and waiting for Bakugou to get up. They looked at eachother and started running, their speed making it much more efficient than a car. When they arrived Todoroki was already there without backing up and holding what seemed to be a wooden spike. A stake.
"Why the fuck are you being asked here? Why the hell were we not informed you had fucking enemies?!" Bakugou growled grabbing Todoroki by the collar and slamming him against the ground. "Of course I have enemies. Even brutes like you have a braincell or two to comprehend that such a long running Vampire clan has enemies." Todoroki said nonchalanty as he pushed Bakugou off him. "And the love of our life is there, with god knows who, because you fucking refused to tell us to keep her fucking safe." Todoroki stared deadpan at Bakugou and sighed. "And yet, I am here to fix my mistake, yes? So I suggest we stop blabbering and get to killing." He handed each of the boys a stake that they didn't see behind him and explained how they were going to go. They'd sneak in and find her. Only kill if necessary.
They split up and each found an entrance for themselves. Kiri took the back, Bakugou took the middle and Todoroki the front. There didn't seem to be any vampires, none they could hear or smell, but they knew better than to let their guard down. Suddenly Bakugou's eyes laid in the middle of the warehouse where the lights suddenly turned on and their she was, in the hands of a vampire he had never seen before. Their eyes shone blue, something he had never seen in a vampire before, except for Todoroki who had one blue eye. "Brother. Why must you be so brash?" Todoroki said as he jumped from the railing and landed in front of Touya. "Do not call me that Shouto. You are not my brother." Dabi growled as he kept his fangs just above her shaking body. Her hands were bound and she had a rag tied around her mouth to keep her from screaming. Her eyes looked puffy and red, her cheeks stained with tears that refused to stop. She looked tired, exhausted.
"Let her fucking go." Bakugou said, jumping down beside Dabi while Kirishima did the same on his opposite side. "Wow. Has that ever worked?" Dabi smirked, licking the side of her neck. "Don't you fucking DARE." Kirishima growled his fangs sharpening and growing bigger. Their eyes shone brighter, turning into slits as they felt their anger pump adrenaline into their veins. "Oh? She must mean a lot. Tell me, fledglings, do you know what would happen if, I don't know, an emperial vampire turns a human? Or did the golden child forget that information?" Dabi turned to Shouto as he sighed and stared at his brother. "An emperial vampire turning someone would forever bind them to him, just like you are me. The only way of escape is to kill him but many cases have been that they would go crazy without their sire and start rampaging." Shouto explained his tone stern and his glare burning into Dabi. "That's right. And she smells so delectable. Like a vanilla ice cream in the Summer." Dabi licked her neck again, holding her tightly to his body.
Bakugou refused to control his rage and Shouto yelled at him to stop but his body moved before he could comprehend it. Kirishima moved with him but Dabi smirked and bit into her, quickly letting her go and disappearing as if he never existed. "Where the fuck did he go?!" Bakugou yelled as Kirishima grabbed her and laid her across his lap. "He's highly skilled." Shouto said as he examined her new bite. It would definitely take, and a vampire without a sire or a sire like Dabi would cause nothing but disaster to themselves and others. "I will allow you a moment. Do what is necessary." Shouto said as he stood and walked away, still in range enough to help if needed, but enough to not hear the conversation.
"No no, pebble...we're so sorry." Kirishima felt tears slide down his cheeks as he untied her, the wound was bleeding and her breathing was getting shallow. The process of dying, only to return has begun. Bakugou kneeled by them, blaming himself for not being faster, not being stronger, not saving her. They knew what to do, they just didn't know if they had the strength to do it. "Hey baby, we love you okay? My little explosion." Bakugou refused to cry, he had failed, he will save her. He grabbed the stake and held it above her heart, his grip on it shaking as he gathered all his strength to be able to push.
"I will always love you." A soft voice that sounded so broken said as he pushed it through. Kirishima's screams and Bakugou's sharp breaths as he laid on his knees looking at her body were deafining. Shouto gave them a few moments to grieve before coming back and ordering them to go home. He'll take care of the body. They stared blankly as Shouto commanded them to do so as their sire, a command they cannot go against, and waved them off. He cared of course, but he couldn't. He had a job and this was it. His hands trembled as they both gave her one last kiss and left.
The life of a vampire was not luxurious. It was not fun, it was not pleasant. Bakugou and Kirishima knew that, and that's why they had to use their so called powers and get revenge.

YOOO CLARETTE!!!!! i wanna get 2 know her more :3
5, 23, 26, 34, and 42 for clarette!!
YAYAYAY!! Okay here we go:
Tumblr media
5 - Who is their sire? I answered this one here. Basically, he's a Greek playwright and an asshole. He's still alive but they're on bad terms. If I played anything with her, I'd want her to kill him at some point hehehe
23 - How often do they kill those they drain blood of? Not often! Clarette likes to feed on people whose work she enjoys, so she usually just leaves them with foggy memories. She also uses this as a way to get to know potential new childer, before making a decision about whether to embrace them. If Clarette feeds on you, it can be thought of as an interview process. But she does kill people once she thinks their career has peaked. She sees it as doing them a favor, so they'll be remembered as young stars instead of has-beens.
26 - Do they want to become human again or are they fine as a kindred? She loves being kindred! It was her choice to be embraced after learning her sire's secret, and she unfortunately looks down on kine. They're like collectibles and they can be very precious in that way, but they will never be as worthy as vampires in her mind.
34- What are their thoughts on blood dolls? Clarette likes blood dolls just fine in general. But her feelings towards them are the same as those she has towards all humans: that they are lesser. Humans are merely potential vessels for future vampirism. And by choosing to allow others to feed on them rather than actively trying to become kindred, they embrace that lesser status in a way she can't respect.
42 - Suppose they weren’t embraced by their clan, which other clan would they thrive in? Clarette's powerful emotions and creativity would mesh well with the Malkavians!

Attack on Prime Peaceful Timeline: Ymir's Cybertronian name
Main Story
Peaceful Timeline Pilot
Herbalist Name: Solveig
Because I can't stop talking about the Peaceful Timeline, because its the only time anyone can really be happy.
So! If you remember from this ask, I gave Maria a Cybertronian name called "Firelight". However I've been struggling to give Ymir a Cybertronian name of her own. But with some tremendous help from @letslipthehounds and @legitconcrusher Ymir's Cybertronian is going to be *drumroll*
IronSpark!
Seriously, you two, thank you so much for providing me with the help. I appreciate it.
So! How did Ymir come up with that name?!
Well, backtrack to Maria picking out the name Firelight for herself. Ymir sees how excited Maria is, and talks to Optimus and Megatron when Maria's gone to bed. She explains that she wants another name for herself, a Cybertronian name. Because Ymir isn't her real name. When she was taken from her home, she was forced to forget her name and was only called 'slave'. Once she had value, the king gave her the name Ymir, and his last name Fritz.
Which by the way, pisses the fuck out of Megatron! Frag, he wished he could've killed him!
Optimus keeps his own emotions in check for Ymir and offers to help Ymir find a name. However, no matter how hard she tries, she can't find one for herself. It sends her for a loop. Kind of makes her feels worthless in a sense. She hates the fact that her identity keeps getting tied back to him and she doesn't want that. But it takes too long for her to figure out something that's right and...she kind of gives up on it for a while.
And Megatron confronts her on it, because the two end up seeing each other as kindred spirits. He bluntly asks her why she hasn't picked a name for herself, and Ymir explains that she can't do it. She just can't. Megatron retorts by saying that she can. She's just limiting herself.
But Ymir retorts by saying that she just can't decide. She's not like her daughter. She's not like her strong-willed, passionate, daughter, who looks at the world with such life. She doesn't believe herself to be strong. She still sees herself as weak.
"Maria, albeit strong, is also innocent," Megatron reminded, "And between the three of us, it's better to keep her innocence as long as possible."
Ymir turned her gaze to the outside, watching Optimus entertain Maria. He was trying to teach her how to be gentle with some of the ladybugs flying in the area, holding a ladybug on the tip on his fingers.
"Meanwhile, you were given a terrible situation, but you were able to muster up the courage to leave," Megatron proclaimed.
Ymir shook her head, writing in her notebook and showing it to him. "I had power beyond my understanding, but instead of leaving when I got it, I served someone who only saw value in me as property and mistook it for love. I wasn't able to leave until Optimus showed up."
"Perhaps," Megatron agreed, "But you were no doubt a child when all of that happened to you. You had no one and nothing to begin with. Optimus didn't force you to come with him. He offered you a choice, and you mustered up the strength to go with him into a life of uncertainty and freedom. That's more courage and strength than I've seen out of the few humans that I've interacted with."
Megatron placed a hand on Ymir's shoulder. "You chose to forge your own path and freedom, and despite everything that's happened to you, you still find it in your spark to be kind. You shouldn't discredit yourself like that."
Megatron made a slip up when he said spark, but it does reignite Ymir's passion on the topic and gives her ideas. She stays up at night and comes up with the name 'IronSpark': strength and a strong heart. The next morning, during breakfast, Ymir slips Optimus a simple piece of paper, and Optimus opens it to see that it's the names she's chosen for herself. Optimus is a little bit confused, but he sees how nervous Ymir is, drinking her tea from her cup. Optimus takes her hand in his own and speaks.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, IronSpark,"
And Ymir starts laughing a little with relief, because it just felt like home. It was a piece of herself that she had managed to regain. Her own independence.
Now a few things:
-Unlike with Maria, where Optimus kind of differentiates between the two names, Optimus just straight up called Ymir 'IronSpark' in the house, because its the name she chose and it wasn't forced on her.
-Megatron praises her while Maria is just excited and thinks her Mama's new name is so cool.
-The whole 'Cybertronian name not allowed in the village' rule still stands, and everyone's not happy about it. But rules are rules.
But seriously, thank you Slips and Legit! You guys really helped me out you are the best! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to write about Oshern and Ymir finding love again because no one has asked me about it, so I gotta write about it myself! It's been sitting in my head for months!

003 for the ask: which Kaneki is your favorite to ship with Amon?
Oooh that's an interesting ask (I was gonna answer this earlier but I kinda forgot, oop-) let's go !!
Does this one count?? I feel like this could just be categorized under Shironeki; I'm not really sure if this counts as A Kaneki it's just A State he's in sometimes, but I also can't deny how horribly ill any scenario with Amon and Centipede Kakuja Kaneki makes me. Maybe it's because any situation involving this would probably be a given for angst and/or hurt/comfort but like hear me out (about to spew the most Incomprehensible nonsense at you). Something something bringing back someone from the Brink. Something something trusting someone to have not lost himself completely even after he stares you straight in the eye like he doesn't recognize you at all. There's this one detail in the scene at Kanou's lab where you don't see Kaneki's 'human' eye for (i think) the entire time he's on his rampage except for when he tries to remember Amon and when he tries to remember "this world is wrong" and I just think that's a little fucked up (also the way Amon says "yeah" and almost-smiles because he trusted and knew all along when Kaneki admits he doesn't actually want to kill and eat, guh. and-) and Wow I really need to stop before I end up with another hundred word analysis about that scene okay moving on
Shironeki !! - Peak Amoneki era right there. Ironically I don't have a lot to say, they're just Good (also probably because I dumped a lot of my thoughts on them already with one of the previous asks). They're The Classics yknow ?? You can do whatever you want and it's great, guy who's chasing after another guy who's always just out of his reach, guys who are kindred spirits, guys with the Best Dynamic Ever it's hard to go wrong, really
Haise :)) - While they're different I still want to fit Haise on here because God. They should've interacted. I could've been so insane about them if Amon stayed in the CCG In my heart he's tied on this scale with Shironeki but alas canon couldn't even let Haise see Amon. Haise trying to learn about Amon (with the bonus Live Kaneki Reactions) was very interesting though, I think he would've absolutely Loved him if he got to know him as a colleague. I have that whole au just for that. I just think the blend of silliness and them getting to know each other with the pain of. Haise. And the conflict of trying to separate him from Eyepatch/Kaneki just makes it very well-rounded. Wait what do you mean they never Actually interacted and I just made all that up? What do you mean I had to make an au for all that?? (also sidenote but Amonhaise and Amoneki at the same time is also a really funny dynamic imo )
Kuroneki - It's hard to imagine how their dynamic would be before. Everything, though I suppose them seeing each other after their first encounter but pre-torture could be very interesting. Amon sees the ghoul who basically leapt into the air to tear a chunk out of his shoulder and he's just Some Guy. Internally Kuroneki is like "oh God it's the investigator he's going to kill me I'm the reason his partner died this is it" and Amon's just confused like "this is the really the same guy??? but he's??" That actually reminds me I read a really good tumblr drabble once of Kuro-amoneki that's genuinely pretty great I recommend it :)

Send us your Edgar headcanons!!!
@ anon, I am so sorry. When you've sent this ask one eternity ago I started to reply and then got interrupted by mom and then forgot ;-; I can't be trusted with this stuff sometimes I swear.
Tumblr media
🔎 I like the idea about him infiltrating Yahar'gul for spyoning, however my "official" timeline and headcanons are different! (is "official headcanon" even a thing? xD) I have him go into Byrgenwerth with Yurie/Julie and Fauxsefka and make his way into Nightmare of Mensis under pretense of being a wayward Byrgenwerth scholar! I've had posts covering this thing in more details as it draws upon some cut content and obscure implications from Mico's dialogoe in Japanese original, but in summary, I think that Lecture Hall used to be accessible from the part of Byrgenwerth in "real" world and it only got locked when Micolash had Rom block the Arcane Lake! Why he blocked the way in the end? Well.... because slowly, Edgar started to warm up to Micolash and find a kindred spirit in him, realizing that Choir was never a right place for him and fellow choirlings never "really" understood him. So he ended up confessing having been spying on him and playing part in figuring out how to ruin his Nightmare.
(Here are the posts about what's the deal with the Arcane Lake if you need them: ( x ) ( x ) !)
🔎 I think he avoided wearing Blindfold Cap back in Choir, and now that he "joined" School of Mensis he doesn't wear a cage intentionally as well! Choir's Blindfold symbolises entrusting your way and what you are allowed to see to the 'Stars', whereas Mensis Cage missing only one bar at the eyes level symbolizes being allowed to see the cosmic horrors how they are but also repressing free will and personality to not (literally) die from horror at these visions. Neither really appealed to Edgar as he is an individualists and prefers to preserve both the autonomy of his research and autonomy of how he will "take" his discoveries. It is a risky strategy but he is a strong-willed and strong-minded man, besides he got a lot of Sedatives! This attitude made him similar to Laurence which is something I've realized only late in writing him, but now I am using it as an excuse for what attracted Micolash to him.
🔎 Edgar infiltrated at 'warm' season:
Tumblr media
🔎 He originally was a teacher in one of the schools under Healing Church's influence! I assume Healing Church hired the foreigners abundantly that's hinted by how Brador's clothes (stated to be foreign) copy male Black Church clothes and foreign set of Paleblood Hunter copies male White Church clothes. But Edgar started to notice that whenever after the nights of the hunt any of his pupils became orphans, soon nice people in white robes from higher echelons would take them and these orphans would never be seen again :/ He was nosy enough to try and figure what was going on, but thanks to his intelligence and actor skills he managed to convince the Choir to let him work for them rather than getting thrown into a jail for people that learned too much. It was painful to manage being around people experimenting on children... at first. He was able to stomach the idea that after how much cosmic horrors were unleashed the world was as good as ending and orphaned children objectively had much higher chance to call upon Great Ones of higher rank than Choir's half-human ally Ebrietas and receive their wisdom and blessing.
🔎 He is really physically fit, actually! The guy can throw a very good punch. Not just because he uses Ludwig's Holy Blade, but there are also stats indicating he is stronger than frikin ALFRED and I can't forget this detail for even one day:
Tumblr media
🔎 For as long as Edgar remembered he was unintentionally rude, very rarely emoting and when he did it was very strong and explosive, appearing as though he was not interested in feelings and lives of others, not running his mouth in vain (save for his special interests) and of course he would not do things that made no sense for him. His first attempt at dating ended up pretty toxic as his girlfriend not only could not quite accept him and expected him to magically "warm up" in relationship, but also kept emotionally manipulating him into abiding by her demands. Like I said, he would not do shit for others, no matter how simple, if it made no logical sense in his eyes, so seeing how she never could have her way with him without going through proving her point to him rationally, she resorted to the worst kind of behavior - guilt-tripping and threatening. He was only a teenager back then and that unfortunate relationship made him falsely conclude that maybe women were just like that, so he searched a guy to date later. The very first guy that shown interest in him, who was also..... well, older let's call it that. But that guy walked his own dark path, did crimes and tried to pull Edgar into all that using Edgar's extraordinary intelligence and sense of alienation from society, and eventually absconded.
🔎 He also had a best friend that his parents tended to treat more like their son than Edgar himself. A friend who also claimed credit over blueprints of Edgar's inventions that he left behind when he departed to seek Yharnam unable to help his curiousity over what THE heck that town was doing (the world travelled). Some people were sad that Edgar left, like teachers, library workers, various people he's been helping with voluntary work. He also once protected a couple from getting robbed - like I said, the guy is STRONG. But yeah, he was a good man, and for many people, he just had a bad luck of choosing the wrong kind as close ones.
🔎 Pearl Slug item suggests that the Augurs might be all different colors! At Choir, Edgar enjoyed sorting the unhatched eggs of the slugs by the color when he had a free minute x) Another funny habit is to pretentiously fumble with an abacus when he is sharing some numbers. He would also get very antsy if someone took HIS Choir Bell, even if they were all the same and not branded and interchangeable. He actually always gets extremely protective over 'his' things in terms where they are all interchangeable and there is no ownership per say.. Once he uses something, it is now HIS and he feels nearly spiritual attachement to it. When he abandoned his Choir tools to display to Micolash that he DID stick by his side from now own, he was especially reluctant to give away his Call Beyond simply because Micolash would keep it instead of just letting it flee. To this day Edgar is slightly uneasy with it, as if Micolash owns a part of his 'soul' by it.. and at the same time, he finds strangely erotic enjoyment in the fact.
🔎 It is really hard to make him laugh, but he does have sense of humor! He just 'laughs internally' most of the time.
🔎 Remember how I said he was brave and disobedient to authority to a fault, and it was his intelligence that had Choir decide he was worth this stress and too precious to just get rid of? This guaranteed he heard all about Laurence from his new friends. People that knew Laurence well joked that they could've been "twins" and would get along. It was not the first in his life when he felt like he knew people he never met better than people in his own life.
🔎 He can get overly affectionate at someone saying a lot of smart things (that they genuinely comprehend, of course) or passionately sharing something they know a lot about. If he is close with someone and they are doing this, he will reach the point of shiny eyes and willing to suffocate them in a hug :') When Micolash is being very nerdy, Edgar might start smooching him uncontrollably. Like... yeah, normal flirting will make Edgar a bit shy at most, you charm him by opening your soul to him by infodumping!
🔎 Edgar strongly prefers to 'stay in shape'. That's why he'd go fight some beasts willingly even when they were not a direct treat to him and it was predominantly "dirty job" for Black Church hunters escort, that's why he carries people in his arms when there is a reason (so yes, do not confuse it with him being overly gentlemen-ish x) ). In the Nightmare, he might as much as pick a friendly fight with the residents, like fencing with one of the Shadows for example xD He sometimes also likes testing himself by being around Winter Lanterns.. That usually doesn't end well and Micolash has to save him. Yes, MICOLASH has to save someone from going insane. I swear all kind of wild shit happens with these two fjhfdhfsd
______________
Thank you for an ask!! Again, sorry I forgot about it.. You've sent it when I had a bad day and seeing it in my inbox did cheer me up, though! I always like to talk about Edgar, he is genuinely one of my favs! (With headcanons posts though I tend to default to 'story and loredigging' aspects so narrowing headcanons asks to concrete topics like relationships, habits, etc is always acceptable and even welcomed! Helps me to focus and cover more things rather than my default settings)

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love❤
Thank you, but aaaaaaa, this is difficult. I only started posting on AO3 last year, but I've been posting fic online since 2006, and while there's a lot of old stuff I can't 100% stand by, there are also older fics and elements of older fics I'm still proud of today.
I think for a lot of ficwriters, our fics are tied very closely to different points in our lives and our sense of accomplishment -- so things like that also make it difficult to pick favorites when looking at these titles stirs up so many memories.
But here, I'll give it a shot:
5: Kindred (Harry Potter, 2007, no longer online): These days, my feelings about HP are less positive, but Kindred was my take on the life and upbringing of Fleur Delacour. It allowed me to research an expansive fantasy world as well as make new friends online as they patiently fielded my questions about life in the UK. I got to play around with original world building when it came to Beauxbatons and Veela (at a time when the HP world was still more open) as well as imagine the latter sections of the series from the perspective of the Order of the Phoenix. I was also writing this right during all the build up to Book Seven. I thought I was pretty safe in world building for Fleur, figuring she'd never be all that central, only to read Deathly Hallows and find not only that she's fairly involved, but a good chunk of my headcanon had to be thrown out and rewritten. Kindred was also the first time I'd contributed a longfic to a major fandom that was simmering with interest and energy, and I got so much encouraging feedback. It was a lot of work, I felt so proud of myself, and I was so pleased people enjoyed it. I'm still touched when people message me and say they remember it all these years later.
Weasley gives me an automatic smile. “Just a moment, excuse me.” He jerks his chin to Hassan, and they pass out of the room, down the hall. Hassan glances at me, raises his eyebrows, and grins.
Damn.
I distract myself from my hunger by studying the office. This is one of the smaller ones I’ve seen, cluttered with unopened boxes and a half-filled bookcase. The desk is neat, stacked with papers. A black leather-bound book on the desk catches my eye, its cover stamped with broad gold swirls and dots. It also, I realize, opens right-to-left. Hebrew?
I glance at the still-open door. No sounds.
I slide my fingers under the front cover, flipping it open. Then I blink and lean forward. Every left page is full of that sweeping, dotted script. Every right page has pictures, very stylized. Hieroglyphs, I think. A lot of the figures have animal heads on human bodies, and I recognize the ancient Egyptian numerals from Arithmancy class. I shut the book. I really shouldn’t pry.
My stomach yowls. Well, glancing at stuff on the desk isn’t prying.
I pass over the papers. There’s a framed photo of nine people standing in front of a pyramid, all of them vibrantly redheaded. I pick out Bill Weasley in the group, sans ponytail and earring. He looks better with them.
I check his wall clock. 12:31. Argh.
There’s a small glass case by the photo, containing a chip of some rock (lapis?) inlaid with gold. Arranged around it are what seem to be ancient corn kernels...no...Oh my goodness, they’re human teeth.
Rattle.
I jump, wheeling guiltily towards the door.
Thud.
Rattle.
I look back down at the desk. The sounds are coming from the top left drawer.
Slowly, steadily, I back away from the desk.
Thud. It sounds large, as though something almost filling the drawer is shifting around.
Suddenly, the fact that I’m in a Curse-Breaker’s office carries much more weight. If Kensington could get a curse in the mail, couldn’t Weasley keep a special occasion curse in his desk drawer?
No matter. It doesn’t concern me.
“Mphlum?” comes from the drawer.
That was a human voice.
“Gphlb? Gvpblaffx!”
His muffled voice sounds like he’s struggling. I realize that I’ve stepped back towards the drawer.
Really...Weasley’s a Curse-Breaker...why would he keep a curse lying around? It’s his job to get rid of them.
“Plibg.”
I run my thumb along the smooth brass drawer-pull. Probably it’s some annoying portrait he’s imprisoned there for peace and quiet. I know all about that.
“Thfssss?”
I jerk the drawer open. A human head stares back at me.
4: The Stars Are Fire (Tales of the Abyss, 2021): This is my longfic about Asch and Natalia, exploring their relationship before and through the game, then examining Natalia's life after the war. I think what I love so much about this one was how emotionally free it felt to write it. Generally I write in a very linear style. Stars was written all over the place -- one scene here, one scene there, with very little regard as to stringing everything carefully together. The hope is that if you've played the game, you can follow where you are in the timeline, and the scenes are connected more by theme and feelings than plot. Doing it this way took a lot of pressure off of me. I didn't have to write "boring" scenes, I didn't have to carefully plot. A lot of the time it was just, "Oh, what about exploring this canonical scene?" Or, "Wouldn't be interesting to show this about their childhood?" And I could just go with it. Stars is also special to me because my earlier attempts to write long Abyss fics hadn't quite worked, which was a little discouraging because Abyss is one of my very favorite games.
Natalia flew into him, and, as if it were a dance they'd already learned, he closed his arms around her shoulders, the both of them burying their faces in each other. He could feel her fingers gripping his back, her eyelashes against his cheek, her heart pounding against his own. For just a moment, his brain was released from all thoughts, all impressions but breathless relief.
He was here. She was safe.
There were voices, the others exclaiming over Luke. In a moment, Natalia would push away from him, go to Luke too. But she'd come to him first. She'd run to him.
His brain was catching up to all of this, reminding him there was no time for any of it. Nor a point to any of it.
Natalia was pulling away, but she didn't leave his embrace, taking him by the shoulders, looking at him, saying something – asking if he was all right? Asch was about to say something stern – he didn't know what – but she had one of his hairs smeared across her wet cheek and first he needed to wipe that away, otherwise she looked ridiculous – and he touched her cheek, and the next thing he knew, he'd pressed his forehead to hers and shut his eyes and he could feel her soft breath and her hands tightening on him and he was doing his best not to say all of the things he needed to say – he –
“Whoa, what's this?”
Luke's – the replica's baffled voice was what Asch needed to break out of this storm. Not roughly, but firmly, he stepped back from Natalia – she kept hold of his arm, and he didn't stop her. And Asch felt almost furious satisfaction as he saw the replica staring confusedly at the Jewel of Lorelei in his palm.
After Asch explained, as everyone exclaimed over the Jewel – and that somehow they'd both survived the hyperresonance – Asch again felt weight settle over him. He was alive. It wasn't over.
He still had to go on.
3: The Muse of Last Songs (Transistor, 2019): The first in my Muse Trilogy. It was hard to pick between this one and the final installment, because the final one brings things all together to a (hopefully) satisfying close. But I really like Last Songs because it was my chance to world-build a past for Red and dig into her history with the Boxer. The game drops so many little hints about who they are and how they relate to each other, and these hints felt like fun toys to play with. I was a little hesitant to start posting the trilogy because I'm not sure the universe was asking for a very long Transistor trilogy with a lot of of OCs, so that makes me feel so flattered and grateful that people are interested.
Red had no special plans for that day, aside from the lunch with Belrose. She's not expecting any interviews, any photographers. She's wearing trousers and a blouse, a large triangular ring on her right hand. She'd written some notes for her song on her inner arm during lunch, and the marks are still there. Her hair could use a bit of comb, and she's only bothered with lip gloss. She looks more or less how she usually does on a day left alone to herself.
Whether that's a plus or a minus is really just a matter of perspective.
Colette beckons her over, sort of like she's trying to coax some animal that's never been properly domesticated. “We're interviewing bodyguards. Give me thirty of your priceless minutes.”
Red focuses, looking past Colette to the three men. Though of different heights and ethnicities, there's a certain look that they all share – young men, dark hair, dark or tan skin, squarely built and solid looking. She takes a moment to study each. She's never shy about looking people in the eye, and she's glad to see that each of them has the nerve to maintain eye contact.
One of them.
One of them.
One of them, she looks at a few moments longer than the others. Not out of recognition or distrust. He just keeps her attention a bit longer.
2: Death and Ker (Persona 3, 2010): My what-if story exploring if the female protagonist came on another adventure with SEES. While it's no longer my best writing, and I'm sure there's lots in it I would now do differently, this fic still has a very special place in my heart. My earlier Persona longfic, Elysion, is very sad in places, and while Death and Ker also has its bittersweet moments, it was my opportunity to write SEES as strong and hopeful after the harrowing events of Persona 3. I also love the FeMC, Minako, her energy and strength, and I loved writing from her perspective, particularly exploring her relationship with her Persona Thanatos. Add some references to Greek mythology, lots of Shinjiro, and my opportunity to finally get Akihiko and Mitsuru together (one of my favorite ships, but one I find very hard to write), and I still look back on this one happily.
I've come abreast of a bar, with some guys out front smoking, nearly silhouetted against the lit windows. Another guy, broader across the shoulders than the others, has kicked a trashcan onto its side, letting the garbage spew out. He's sitting on it, hair down to his waist and bearded, a shapeless cap over one eye and a long, ragged greatcoat. There's a smell rather worse than cigarette smoke, and I pick up the pace again, wishing I was upwind.
"Hold on," that same gruff voice says, and I realize that Lovely here is my defender. "You took a long look. You can't say you're too proud to say 'good evening'."
His Japanese is perfect, but there's some accent I can't pick out – English-speaking, I think, but I don't recognize it as British or American or anything like that. I've turned towards him before I can tell myself to keep walking. He leans back to study me, throwing his face into better light. Gaunt features, a long pipe between his teeth, some of which are missing. I can't guess his age, except that he's older than me. His hair is some color between blond and brown, and his eyes look greenish, and they track me up and down a few times.
I'm not good at staying away from trouble; people always used to say this about me. But this isn't trouble, it's just a word. So – "Evening," I say, and turn to go.
"You have a look of death about you."
I turn back around. The guy's leaned forward onto his knees again, and the others are talking amongst themselves, someone laughing. Is this a weird set-up, or...? I turn to go.
"You keep out of the light, but there it is just the same."
What?
...I've got a naginata and a Persona with a huge metal mask thing. I can handle whatever's going on here. I turn back and stare at him, waiting for him to explain. He gestures sideways, and unresistingly I step into the glare of the windows.
He stares at me a moment, teeth cracking around his pipe, and nods slowly like he already knew what he'd be seeing. "You're pale enough, and your hair's the color of dead things, dead leaves. Eyes like dirt and blood." He leans back and turns away, drawing on his pipe. "Why pussyfoot around it? Why not carry your damn scythe in the open?"
I blink, but I can't quite deadpan this, and I find myself shifting my weight once from foot to foot. "Are you friends with Mama at Club Escapade or something?"
"Shove off," the guy says, gesturing me away. "Take your dirt with you."
"What are you talking about?"
"Pretty girl." He swings to his feet, the trashcan rolling away with a clatter. "Death shouldn't pretend to be cute. It's raw and bleeding and it loves the living more than food or air." He chuckles. "I don't want to be friends." And he slouches into the light of the bar's front door.
I pitch forward a step, about to follow, then pull to a stop, hardly hearing the question one of the other guys throws at me. What was he talking about? Could he tell I was dead? I could ask Death himself, but Thanatos is quiet, uninterested in this exchange.
1: The Beast in the Dark (Fate/Extra, 2017, not online). So this feels kind of selfish, seeing as no one can read it and I don't know whether I'll even post it, but I really love this fic. In the mid-2010s, I was sad and frustrated and artistically unhappy (unhappy about art -- not unhappy in an artistic way), particularly with my original fiction, which didn't feel very good, and most of the time wasn't even happening. In this mindset, I wrote a trilogy of fics set in the Fate/Extra universe, focusing on female Hakuno. And what I love about that experience, along with it helping me through that patch, is that I just let myself go. I threw basically anything I wanted at the story. I researched all sorts of weird things about history and different cultures so I could incorporate them. I really like words and their derivations, so I just told myself I could include unnecessary explanations of word etymologies. I threw in cringey tropes I enjoy but might be embarrassed to admit to other people. I had no expectation of ever posting it, so I truly was able to please myself. Beast is the final installment of the trilogy, the longest, and all the angst and shippy stuff and nonsense comes together in a big loud crash for it, and I just really loved writing that. Almost immediately after finishing Beast, I suddenly felt ready to write The Price and Prey of Magic -- the original novel I'd been thinking about for years, but been unable to start. I don't know if Beast unlocked something in me, but I like to think it did me good.
Was it even possible to really love someone with your whole soul? Maybe a parent could love a child that way. Maybe if the two of you had grown up together, and they'd always been part of your life. But a person who had a whole life separate from you, whom you'd met only recently?
Could you really graft your soul to the soul of a comparative stranger?
There was a tree by the well, and its leaves rustled in the slight breeze, sending a sympathetic shiver down Hakuno's back.
A man's shadow fell across her
She looked up.
It was a tall man in army fatigues and a burnoose. She couldn't really see his face because of the sun behind him.
Crow, she thought.
“You're the American?” he asked.
Hakuno sat up, unprepared for how relieved she was to hear English again. His accent was unfamiliar, but the words were perfectly clear. “Yes,” she said, squinting up. “My name's Hazel Kuznetov.”
Maybe he noticed the squint, because he moved out of the glare, though not any closer. His skin was tanned, but he wasn't actually Middle Eastern – possibly Japanese. Despite his white hair, he looked to be in his twenties. She thought she saw a red muffler wrapped around his head and throat under the burnoose. There was a long gun on his back.
He held his hand out. “I'm Shirou Emiya.”
Thank you for tagging me, @deemoyza. Going through my archive brought a lot of feelings of happiness and gratitude bubbling to the surface.

THE ARCHIVE:
??? // INTRO // 1 // TO BE CONTINUED...
Tumblr media
THE (DOG) HOUSE RULES!
Read the following before you ask...
and don't make me tap the sign!
Tumblr media
* no NSFW! this blog is intended to be 13+ so please don't send anything sexually explicit or excessively gory, thank you!
* please be patient! I draw all the responses, and that can take some time. I also may hold onto some asks for future pieces, too.
* the Kris of this blog goes by they/them only! please do not misgender them in asks or they will be eaten... I mean deleted.
* interactions with other ask blogs are perfectly welcome and encouraged! I'm always happy to meet another kindred spirit.
* this isn't a roleplay blog! I won't be doing threads here, just silly one-off doodles. I will, however, be making an ask-driven comic!
* treat the mod with respect! please don't come here stirring up drama or sending hate/harassment etc. you get the idea.
* the mod is an adult! please remember this when interacting.
EXTRA ASK INFO AND FAQ BELOW:
Please do:
* send asks directed to Kris! they can hear your text as a disembodied voice and will respond to you accordingly.
* offer Kris objects, either by text or as a submitted picture! accepted items will be added to their inventory.
* use asks to suggest ideas to Kris! if you want them to actually do it though, you'll have to be convincing!
* interact with Kris directly, to a degree! any physical contact will be experienced as a 'hand' that only they can see.
* send IC asks from other character blogs! they're just for fun and games though, and may not be considered canon.
* send asks to the mod if you have questions or concerns! I'll happily tag triggers, explain bits of the AU, or clarify rules as needed.
* send joke m!as for special events! I may be selective on them though, and they likely won't be canon to the main story here.
* tag this blog in any posts you'd like me to see! I'll happily check out anything you'd like to send my way, within reason.
Please do not:
* send asks to characters other than Kris! they can't hear you; if you want to send a message, you'll need to convince Kris to do it for you.
* send asks that alter their world, or force Kris or other characters to do something! you just don't have that much power in this world.
* send asks containing explicit 18+ language, slurs, gore, or sexual content. anything like that is getting deleted on sight, sorry folks.
* misgender Kris in asks; those are getting deleted too. also please don't interact IC if you're an RP/ask blog that genders the kids.
* try to rush the mod on replies. drawing takes time, and I might not get to every reply. you can ask off anon if it was deleted, though!
* send stuff unrelated to the AU to this blog. if you'd like to chatter about other stuff, I've got a main blog and I'd love to see you there!
* repost any of my art without permission! please ask before using my work elsewhere. reblogs, however, are always encouraged!
THE FAQ I'D HAVE IF THIS BLOG WASN'T LITERALLY BRAND NEW
Q: So, what AU is this for anyway? A: I've been calling it 'Deltarune Monsterswap,' mainly since there isn't already an AU named that as far as I can find, and it describes the concept fairly well! Basically; everyone who's a human is now a monster, and everyone who's a monster is now human. Think Overtale but for Deltarune, basically! There are some definite personality differences as a result, though Kris will be the most obvious upfront.
Q: What sort of monster is Kris? A: Kris is a monster based on el cadejo, a mythical dog spirit from Central America! Their dual nature of devil dog vs angel dog seemed like an interesting concept to work with, especially since I personally headcanon Kris to have some Central American ancestry and wanted to pick something local to the region. Plus, I dunno, they've always given me scruffy stray dog vibes. This kid absolutely eats food off the floor when nobody's looking and you can't tell me otherwise.
Q: My ask wasn't answered! What happened to it? A: If it didn't break any of the rules I've listed off and hasn't been answered yet, it's probably still in my inbox! I'm liable to hold onto asks that I find fun but haven't found a place for so that I can use them in the future, so don't give up hope. They still might appear in the future! I promise I appreciate every one, even if it can take me a bit to get some of them done.
Q: Can I ask about future events or for hints? A: You can try! If something is TOO spoilery I might keep my lips sealed, but I'm willing to give hints and ideas on occasion. If push comes to shove, the worst case scenario is me posting it with a little :)c to mildly menace you a bit. I mean hey, lots of 'Players' look up guides to find secrets, too. It's on theme.
Q: Will there be any ships involved? What ones? A: I'll be sticking to canon for the most part on these; characters that have crushes will still have them, but we're generally sticking to canon-compliant territory here and they won't be a major focus. The farthest I get out of the box is that the Kris of this blog BRIEFLY had a crush on Noelle when they were younger, but it went unnoticed and has long since faded. The most you'll really see of that is a bit of awkwardness on Kris's part. Noelle will still have a crush on Susie, but at least for now it's unrequited.
Q: So, who's the mod behind this thing anyway? A: I don't really talk about myself; I grew up in the era of 'don't share personal info online' and still kinda live by that in public! The most you'll get is: I go by Timey, use she/her pronouns, I'm 28, and my left thumb is hypermobile. That's about as personal as I get, sorry!
AND THAT'S IT! Thanks for reading, and here's hoping you'll enjoy bothering this ridiculous critter as much as I do.

Do you read any non-star wars sci fi? I would love some recs
A bit! For reading, I stick closer to the ecofeminist side than the "hard sci-fi" side of the genre, so my recommendations aren't much like Star Wars, but they ARE good.
The only major classic sci fi authors I have read and recommend are Ursula K. Le Guin and Octavia E. Butler because they are skilled and subtle writers who actually pose interesting questions and offer interesting perspectives. Le Guin's Left Hand of Darkness changed me in college, but she's written a ton of novels and short stories to explore. Butler's novels and series include the Earthseed (or Parable) series, Kindred, and the Lilith's Brood series (which has fantastic alien world-building and human-alien breeding?? if I remember correctly.)
I genuinely enjoy Greg Bear's punchy use of language and world-building through character-building, but I only started reading Slant and haven't finished it so I can't promise anything. I was frantically texting friends about it as I read because I was so excited about unexpected queer characters of color and a frank exploration of the porn industry in a sci fi novel.
Oh, also on my to-read list is N.K. Jemisin. Her Broken Earth series has been on my bookshelf for too long for a book that came so highly recommended to me by friends with excellent taste.
Technically a children's author, but Madeleine L'Engle really gives me everything I need from sci fi. I was obsessed with An Acceptable Time as a kid, and the A Wrinkle in Time series had such vivid images that still live in my head even though I haven't read the books in a long time.
I think Michael Crichton is considered like, a thriller author? I guess? His books are definitely thrilling, but they please me as science fiction as well. I lost plenty of sleep over Prey last year. I love stories about how science cannot be trusted under capitalism.
Ling Ma's Severance was super gripping and let's just say it was hard to read at the start of the pandemic lol.
And if you like apocalyptic fiction, (and also the English language and linguistics,) then I have two recommendations. First is Riddley Walker by Russel Hoban, which is just this brilliant experiment in the evolution of English language and culture post-apocalypse. It's seriously one of the coolest books ever, but I absolutely need footnotes when reading it for all the cultural references and their evolutions. The second I consider in this genre is The Wake by Paul Kingsnorth. It's post-apocalyptic, but that apocalypse is the historical event of the Norman Invasion. It's written from the point of view of, and in the imagined pre-Norman English language of, a man who lived at the time.
And then there's always sci fi novels from other franchises, like my favorite Star Trek novel, Price of the Phoenix by Sondra Marshak, which is insanely kinky and has Spock and this other guy fighting over two Kirks, one of whom becomes a pet, and altogether it's just a blast.
Oh and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein of course.
I will tag @predator-padawan for additions because she is more knowledgable on the subject! I know she'll add We by Yevgeny Zamyatin because she has a tattoo from it :)

ooh tell me more about Veronica's coterie (if she is a part of a coterie rn??)and her relationships with them! And maybe it's not the first group of kindred she stayed with?
oooooh this is big one! had to wait for when i actually have time and energy to answer it haha
THANK YOU FOR SUCH AN INTERESTING QUESTION THO!!!
anyway
yes Veronica is part of Rene's coterie! (putting under read more bc there will be a LOT)
Tumblr media
Rene is nosferatu who is also a harpy of New Orleans and even is a prince of one of it's district's. He is very serious and smart and is good with money and diplomacy. He is also master of different kinds of occult stuff and he can talk to spirits. He has 3 ghouls, 7 or 9 ladies in his blood herd/stock(idk how its called right... ) and even his own cleaning service with people hired to clean stuff to save masqarade... anyway Rene is such a solemn gentelman. Veronica thinks of him as more of a boss and mostly keep it formal but sometimes they tease each other a little. And sometimes Veronica would ask him for favors or money or something like RENEEE PLEASE🥺.
this character belongs to my friend Kate
Tumblr media
Jacquline - tzimisce and also seriff of Rene's territory, but everyone knows her as torreodor. She is very strong and can turn into giant bat monster! Both Rene and Jacquline hide each other's secret of being originally from sabbat - Rene was one of sabbat's shovel heads but Etiene - previous prince of New Orleans - took him in as his aprentace. And Jacquline was meant to become sabbat priest(if i remember it correctly) but Rene and Etiene also took her in with them before that happened. Veronica sure noticed long ago that Jacquline knows lots of flesh mending spells and things, but she decided not to ask... everyone cn have past they'd rather not talk about. Jacquline and Veronica are friends.
Character belongs to @tench-art . she also has an old ghul Jerry, who is an old man who used to be sailor years ago and also used to be cultist. he is very good at desposing bodies
Tumblr media
Charlie - malkavian. He and Veronica are also friends, but also Charlie thinks of Veronica as of his younger sister. Charlie is good at ocult things and prophesies. He is second most humane vampire in the coterie (after Veronica who has 8 humanity points) and usually works as sergeon. He likes to help people but also very good at getting into all sort of troubles and adventures, but that's a fate of chaotic malkavian I guess. X) Recently he got into trying to help a bunch of fairies and Veronica helped him too
Character belongs to @osatokun - you can read more about him from Osato's blog if you want
Tumblr media
Maria - Veronica's ghoul. Veronica tried her best to protect her nurse human friend Maria from vampire world but Maria just kept noticing more and more supernatural things and at the point when she wanted to find out the truth no matter what and almost joined setites cult, Veronica realized that she can't keep her out of it anymore and made her ghoul. Maria craves to learn as much as she can about supernatural part of this world and Veronica helps her with that now. But Veronica worries a lot that now their friendship will be ruined by ghoul/vampire relationship and that Maria now has blood bond as well :'c
as for Veronica's previous relationships and vampires she used to live with:
she lived with her sire from 1920s till around 1960s
Tumblr media
back then his name was William Moore and he was a classic example of he/him lesbian, and nowdays they go by name Kellen Moore and mostly they/them pronounce. William and Veronica were lovers for about 40+ years and lived together untill they had big argue about humanity and killing a person for the sake of saving masqarade and Veronica said she needs alone time and... ran off with a bunch of anarch vampires. But even with break up like that they still kept sending each other letters and fixed their relationship back into being good friends. Veronica even visited them in 2000s and taught them how to use a computer and internet haha XD
tbh Veronica is still lowkey in love with them, but she never knows if it's her blood bond or sincere feeling - and she hates it the most... she wishes for her feelings to be HERS for real
and since 1960s and till 1980s Veronica was traveling across the country with anarchs
Tumblr media
Jack is gangrel and the leader of this anarch group. He and Veronica became friends (and also friends with benifits later on lol), but then there was an event when the group was attacked by wild werewolves and lost their van in the battle and there were no houses nearby and the sunrise was starting so the only thing Jack came to to save Veronica is give her his blood and try to teach her to mend into earth
They succeeded and Veronica survived and since then she has three points of protean (can see in the dark, can grow huge gangrel claws, can mend into the ground)
but this event made Veronica very upset because now she had blood bond with Jack - and she hates when her feelings are beeing messed up with stuff like that, and after a while she left anarchs and found shelter in New Orleans and joined Rene's coteria
she is still good friends with Jack as well tho
Tumblr media
Also while Veronica was traveling with anarchs she met kiasyd gal. She was traveling from Kanada and needed to get to Mexica. Veronica and anarchs promissed to help her get tthere and they were traveling together for a week or so. and Veronica and her dated during that travel hahaha
that's it for now!
Thank you so much for question!!!

a risky kiss between forbidden lovers (for Mischa and Beth)
I Ask No More Than This || Accepting
Tumblr media
The rules of Elysium are strict, he tells her before allowing her into the car that he's hired for the evening. The Masquerade must be kept at all costs when mortals are around, something he promises she doesn't know, and if it looks like she does, he will regrettably have to make it so. She is both radiant, sparkling like a jewel hung before him as she meets his gaze, and eager to please, nodding just so that the faint glitter on her skin catches the streetlight's glare and refracts the light. His little sprite, indeed. They go over other bits of rules and regulations ~she can't help giggle at the formality of it all, and then more soberly compare it to many of the military functions she's been subjected to~ while she curls up at his side, occasionally tracing patterns against the pale flesh of his cool hand. She agrees to abide by every one, questions why others exist or what a particular word or phrase means. There are certain things though that Mischa cannot share about his nocturnal world. He softens the rejection by bringing up the scandal of her turning up at one of her neutral places with him on her slender arm. When he kisses her inner wrist, it hardly seems to matter at all. The night proceeds to go well. She makes him smile more than once over an observation here or comment there. He never confirms or denies which of the gathered are his kind and which are not. She promises either way she isn't cheating. And she isn't. It would be unsportsmanlike. Toward the end of the evening though, when he's glutted on gossip and pageantry and watching others try and curry favour ~she did pick out the Prince as one of the most fascinating people here before the entire retinue retired~ there's an incident that thankfully had nothing to do with her. Unfortunately, she won't remember a single detail later. What stays with her is when he bears his teeth on full display to the offending leeches. One dangles from his hand, feet unable to touch the floor. "If you cannot even control yourself on Elysium grounds, then it was a mistake to release you from your Sire. You are no longer recognised by the Primogen Council as a Kindred and you will need to seek a sponsor to teach you our laws and ways again until you earn the right to be seen!"
Mischa is utterly stunning in his wrath...
...And he barely makes it out the door before she's taking hold of him and pressing him into the brick and shadows that adorn the salon's edifice. She is half afraid he'll turn to ash from the heat of her skin as her lips find his throat and she leaves deep kisses that would mark for weeks if he were human. His hand grasps her chin, raises his face so his lips crush into hers. Each kiss becomes hungrier than the last and his head dips into the space between her jaw and her shoulder, his fangs caressing the pulse of life so strong it drowns the echoing bass from the music inside.
His arms slide under hers and around her back when her knees weaken and she finds herself in the very same spot he'd been a moment ago. Her thighs clamp around his knee. Nothing that's never quite happened before, just not nearly so public. At least until there's the sharpest pang that sweeps through him, and she draws a drop or two of turbid blood into her mouth, despite all his prior laments of how that could not be...

Alright, to start this out, I'm not sure if there's a source book at talks about Japan in World of Darkness. There's a Samurai varient of Clan Venture I can't remember the name of in one version of Vampire, but I can't find anything on Japan itself, so I get to play with setting a bit, and if there IS info on it in some source, no there isn't. Leave me be.
Gundham Tanaka
This is up for debate depending on if you want to go with his persona or who he is thematically speaking, but Gundham, in my interpretation of the lore and his character, is firmly in clan gangrel who may or may not masquerade as a member of clan tremere if he's trying to be sneaky or just doesn't want to deal with who he is speaking to. Clan tremere are the blood sorcerer vampire clan that were created when Tremere, the antitribu or creator of the bloodline, did a ritual to gain immortality and diablerized Saulot, the antediluvian (which means before the flood, and this is referring to the biblical flood) of clan Salubri who was most beloved and thus made clan tremere outcasts and one of the youngest clans to exist. Gangrel are also outcasts, but for reasons that they are just more animalistic or have a stronger connection to animals than they do to more "human" kindred. Gangrel can talk to animals and even become animals, but it's less of a furry thing and more of a this fucker turned into a wolf and is about to eat your liver thing.
Due to just how gangrel embrace, turn, potential members of the clan, it would be easy for them to track down and get Gundham when tending to night animals. Like, okay, how they do it is that they sneak up and attack the potential childe, and they leave them to fend for themself. If they survive, they are welcomed into the world of the masquerade, and if not, ...well, they're dead.
Gundham, in particular, would likely remain independent, and he'll have a haven that doubles as an animal shelter to keep himself and his animals safe.
He doesn't particularly have a prey of choice and just goes with whoever he can sneak up on and get blood or vitae on without worrying about them exposing him for a creature of the night, but it is likely he'll prefer to get it from blood banks rather than getting it fresh.
If he does have a ghoul to go to, it will be someone he knows he can trust with his animals as that's more important to him personally.
While he doesn't frequent Elysiums (neutral grounds that are primarily aligned with the Camerilla), he'll go to them when needed either for information about his kind or in case there is a hunter in the area looking for their kind.
Werewolves (yes, those are canon in world of darkness, so are phantoms, witches, and fey. this is a source that has vampiric skinheads that are the fucked up love child between blood sorcerers and shapeshifting torture technicians from eastern europe, not much is off the table) don't really bother him. I'd say he has a neutral, if not sometimes tense, understanding with them and simply stays out of their territory or even aids them at times.
He is looking for his sire to diablerize them as while he has adapted to his new unlife, he is resentful of having to live this way. Though, if he goes through with it is yet to be seen.
He does gain a huge interest in Gehenna and the book of nod. Likely, he'll be pretty much the head scholar of it in Japan or at least one of the more notable ones.
Ultimately, he finds his happiness most in simply being safe in his haven with his animals, and his relationship with other kindred can be rather tense. At the same time, he is aware he needs them for his survival, and he has formed some alliances to keep himself safe.
Mondo Oowada
Mondo being a brujah is like stating that the sun is hot. It's a no brainer. The brujah are a clan of rebels, and while the anarch movement was originally created by clan gangrel, they are the primary force behind it in modern nights, if my understanding is correct, and since Smiling Jack who is a former pirate from the 1300s and now an LA based biker is one of the more famed Brujah, I'd say not making Mondo this is a crime, and if you fight me on this, I will win.
More than likely, his drive to keep up the gang is what caught the attention of a member of the clan, and that is what convinced them to embrace him into the masquerade. It was more than likely a Brujah allied with the anarchs rather than the camerilla, too.
His haven is the hideout where the Crazy Diamonds meet up. Whether he is the leader or not is up for debate, but he does keep it up.
More than likely he was encouraged to embrace the ones that were closest to him, but he likely hasn't turned them all into vampires, probably only Takemichi, at the very least, or at least turned Takemichi into his ghoul with him getting turned and leading the gang after he gets old enough or he needs to move on for whatever reason.
The baron of the kanto region, but if Japan even has a camerilla fraction and thus princes and thus a need for the anarch equivalent of a prince is up for debate. I'm saying yes though just to make the terminology much easier for me.
His prey of choice are rival gang leaders, though he does take quite a bit from blood banks whenever he is in a more peaceful time.
Likely still does wood work, but for the most part, there really isn't a need for him to try and build a career out of it. He might though, just for the fun of it and for a cover.
His own feelings towards the revolt and what that means for him now are rather mixed. On one hand, he does see the need fo r a change in the system the more that he learns about it, but on the other, he isn't entirely sure if he wants to dedicate the rest of his unlife to this cause that he doesn't have many personal stakes it. It's more out of a sense of loyalty to the other brujah that he makes any moves in it at all.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru
Okay, hear me out: also brujah. I know I just got done saying that that is the clan of rebels, but my mindset is that the one that turned him was really into his strong dedication to his own morals and wanted to see what would happen. The other clan that works for him is the Banu Haqim, but I think that's boring. Because yes, they are the clan that judges based on their personal creeds, the process of their embrace is rather long as the initiate is, preferably, put in an apprenticeship, but not always, and they are drawn to people with obsessive personalities like Kiyotaka. Does clan banu haqim fit him? Yes, like a glove. He would even get poison blood blades and a bane that would test him. ...fuck, I talked myself out of brujah with this, never mind.
Likely his embrace would happen in connection to his grandfather's downfall. Like, they would be keeping an eye on him due to how much of an affect the mortal world has on the masquerade and kindred anyway, but my thing is that they saw Kiyotaka's potential and have kept tabs on him for quite some time.
A part of the camerilla, no arguing with me on this. I highly doubt that he would join the anarchs with how he is and the sabbat are just... blatantly evil? If you want to attribute morality to all of this. Anyway....
Presuming that there are princes in each prefecture in Japan, he is likely the sheriff of his, and he ensures that the masquerade is upheld with the upmost care.
Most of his blood comes from those that he has to hunt either for the sake of the camerilla or from blood banks. He is very careful to ensure that he is fed before performing his duties due to the clan bane of the banu haqim making the blood of the judged basically mana from the heavens for these guys, and makes it hard for them to stop drinking their blood.
To make sure that he doesn't kill his targets unnecessarily, he has another vampire with him at all times while out, either at a distance or right next to him, usually a brujah.
Rantaro Amami
Problematic as it is... I gotta say clan ravnos for him. Ravnos was a clan that was built on racist romani stereotypes, at the same time, and partially to fix this, there was an event that wiped most of them out... so... that was.... great [very sarcastic]. Nowadays, it's used for as a clan of daredevils, with only their clan bane really reflecting the problematic past as the bane is that you can't sleep in the same location more than once within seven days or their blood will explode with the sun. This is due to a battle with their antitribu that involved orbital sun lasers fired by witches.... I think. It's insane.
Likely he came across them in his travels, and he managed to charm them with talks of his travels and his exploits in different countries.
Uses his network to try to find his sisters, and with how many more eyes that he has now, he has a higher chance of finding them.
To work around his clan bane, he finds working with the camerilla, moving from elysium to elysium to avoid the sun or using their other resources when he can to be more beneficial than to remain independent.
He has no particular victim that he prefers to feed on when he does feed from kine instead of getting blood bags, but he is careful to make sure that it doesn't violate the masquerade.
Due to his traveling, he doesn't really worry too much about his clan bane, but just in case, he makes sure that he's pretty far from the last place he slept when traveling.
Likely doesn't have any ghouls but he does probably know a few.
Sayaka Maizono
There are only two viable choices for her: toreador and daughter of cacophony, and one of them are singers, so take a wild guess which one I'm giving her. There's also the matter that the DoC are related to malkavians who are kind of, sort of, depends on who you're asking psychic? Like DoC don't have access to the network, and the malkavian influences only really come into play when they get lost in the fugue and become banshees, but I'll take this and move on.
More than likely, she accepted the embrace due to the fear of growing too old and losing her dream, but also just so she could keep performing for people for eternity. It does give her an enchanting voice that can literally entrance people, so there's that.
Alright, this is going to be callous, but I can't see her turning her best friends, but I can see her turning them into ghouls. I can't explain it other than that being a vampire for all eternity and forcing them to give up their lives for this dream doesn't seem like her style. Maybe if they asked to do this with her then yeah, but otherwise, fuck no.
Camerilla based, and a part of that is that A) she likes the attention that toreadors give her, and B) they can help ensure that she doesn't break the masquerade while she is still performing (the lack of reflection is a very specific clan bane).
She has a preferred elysium where she enjoys performing when she has some time outside of her idol duties.
While her fans are accepting that her meet and greets are now indoors and nights only, there are some that are suspect of her, another benefit of staying with the camerilla is that these rumors are kept in check by the nosferatu managing online boards mentioning her.
Sonia Nevermind
I was torn on Ventrue or Lasombra for her. On one hand, clan Ventrue's compulsion to have no one tell her what to do doesn't fit her, but on the other hand, Lasombra's (general) disregard for weakness makes her kindness and compassion for her people to be an undesirable trait for their embrace. All right, so look at banes and compulsions. The compulsion of Ventrue is arrogance meaning that if an order is not followed then it calls for a penalty until said order is followed, and the bane is that they can only have very specific types of blood that they can eat... ingest... whatever. For lasombra, the clan compulsion is ruthlessness meaning that they will stop at nothing to succeed and will not accept failure, and the bane has varients: one makes it so they can't see their reflection and the other makes it so they are callous to humanity. Looking at abilities, they both have skills that make people obey and make them strong, ventrue have the ability to draw people to them while lasombra have shadow magic powers...
This is a difficult choice, though ultimately, I'm going with Ventrue. I can flavor it a little to work with her. Would she be jealous of Lasombra and Tremere, yes. Could Tremere also work? Not really, but I'm glad that I asked and answered this.
Due to her clan bane, she can only drink blood from the people of Novoselic. While she is in Japan, her primary attendants are ghouls that have agreed to give her their blood as their eternal princess.
She was turned by one of her nobles who she realized hadn't aged since she was a young girl, but due a grave mistake, she was allowed to diablorize him thus taking away his grasp on her as her sire.
Novoselic, as a whole, is safe for the camerilla and their forces.
All right, there are two schools of thought for her vampirism affecting her position as the ruler of Novoselic: A) everyone in Novoselic is aware and while there are more attempts to kill her the majority of the country is cool with it or B) she lessens the powers of the throne by faking her death, and as they switch to a legislative democracy, she watches from the shadows to ensure they are working towards a good future or completely fucked off to Japan. I have not decided which is better yet.
She would likely be very interested in researching everything she can about kindred society and the history of vampirism. While in Japan, she would end up becoming the Ventrue Primogen of Japan unless in a verse where Togami is also a vampire, then we gotta talk about this.
