I LOVE RIAN N HER RED JENNY GF daskfjadsf that's such an IDEA im laughing so much at them spiderman meme-ing at each other KSLDFJ does she do gamlen's quest for charade?? iirc charade is a red jenny too, right?? and we LOVE a throuple!!!! do you have any specific headcanons for rian/merrill/bela? you've said she can't quite grasp creation magic so what are her best schools? what about the kind of elemental damage (if any) she prefers for her staff? when you were playing her did you have like a Set of opening moves in a fight? what were her usual party compositions? what was her relationship like with her other party members?

She did do Charade's quest, yeah! Her and Charade are pretty good friends, and one of her reactions to finding out Clara's a Red Jenny is "HAVE YOU MET MY COUSIN?"

So Rian/Merrill/Isabela goes: 1. Rian sleeps with Bela, they have the "pls tell me you don't want a relationship" "I kinda do" "hahahaha no" conversation, so Rian backs off a bit. 2. Rian and Merrill start dating, move in together, become serious. 3. They have a threeway "as friends". 4. They keep fuckin until they realise they are no longer "just friends" 5. Merrill insists they Actually Talk About This. 6. they establish a throuple. Varric is relieved someone finally got their shit together in the relationship, bc the tension was killing him.

Rian's best schools are fire and lightning, with ice, arcane and spirit being schools she's good at too. She can also do a bit of Force magic. Her favourite elements for her staff are also fire and lightning, if she can help it, and normally I have her open (when fighting groups of enemies) with Chain Lightning - Hemorrhage (if fighting appropriate enemies) - Winter's Grasp - Fireball - Spirit Bolt - Firestorm - Tempest. If enemies get too close, I tend to use Cone of Cold, then Mind Blast, then I start throwing them about with Telekinetic Burst from the Force Magic tree. I also used Crushing Prison on single enemies a lot, but I mainly play Rian as an AoE damage dealer - if I want a mage doing more single target DPS, I'll bring Merrill, bc she uses a lot of the Entropy tree, or I'll set Anders to use his glyphs and a bunch of stuff from the Spirit tree.

Her usual party from Act 2 onwards is Varric, Anders and Fenris. A lot of Act 1, I switch Fenris out for Carver while I'm trying to build Fenris approval while still being heavily pro mage, but by about Act 2 Fenris likes me enough that I can take him pretty much everywhere. Occasionally Anders is swapped out for Merrill or Isabela, depending on quest or if I miss either of them, and the only time Varric is ever left behind is during MoTA bc I need Anders and Fenris for those boss fights. My usual Legacy party is Warden Carver, Anders, and Varric. I tend to bring Anders, Isabela and Merrill for Night Terrors bc I love having Justice there (he's my guy!! my best boy!!), and the "sorry I sold you out for a demon" quests afterwards net decent approval with Merrill and Isabela.

Her best friend forever is Varric, her second bestie and revolutionary comrade is Anders, she's good friends with Fenris despite disagreeing sometimes, she loves Carver but he pisses her off to no end, she doesn't like nor trust Aveline, and she outright detests Sebastian - but he likes her, for some reason?? She'll insult him to his face and he assumes she's joking. Like that's their dynamic in game too, I'll say something that I assume will give me rivalry and at the end it'll be like "Sebastian Friendship +20" and I am very confused.
