ramble on, sweetheart ⊹ kid, monkey man light! nsfw content. black reader in mind but anyone can read. talks of trauma (his mothers death). kissing. him coded things. some modern au while others are set in the movie.
having kid as a boyfriend . . . would be so fulfilling but deathly worrying. he’s so attentive (just as you are to him), kind, giving, gentle, and heartfelt.
worships the ground you walk on. full hands and knees type worships.
he definitely uses those big eyes to his advantage whether he knows it or not. feel like you’ve told him about it but he continues to deny it.
saves up his money from the tournaments to not only get a gun but get you something. like a bracelet or something memorable.
greets you bloody, dripping with sweat and dirt with a closed mouth, tired smile on his face every time he comes home to you.
even comes home with small groceries that you said you needed to pick up the day after, just cause it was “on his route,” quoted him, even though he most definitely had to cross some streets and walk a little longer to get it.
doesn’t sleep a lot so listens to you breath most nights (no matter how weird it sounds). enjoys it though, makes him feel comfortable.
definitely the type to kiss your hand and wrist. goes along with the worshipping part.
doesn’t really talk much. you know he has so much to say but he doesn’t say much of it. especially when it comes down to his feelings towards certain things.
he’s easy to read though. since you’ve been in a relationship you’ve realized how important it is to just let him be quiet and watch his eyes and behavior.
makes little jokes here and there, once he’s comfortable. especially if you’re already the playful type, yeah he’s make some sarcastic jokes.
feels embarrassed about his hands at first. he most definitely felt ashamed of them and lied about what happened for the first couple weeks of your relationship.
ends it telling you the truth late at night when he can’t sleep once he realizes that he’s comfortable enough w you and he’s iinnn looovvveee.
likes to lay on your chest and let you play with his hair. side note: i just know his hair is sooo soft but is almost all the time sticky and sweaty.
thinking about how he’d love hugging you after having a panic attack. like he’s breathing heavy, arms around you tight.
feel like if you ever gave him something for like luck or just a small gift he’d take it everywhere and/or wear it everyday.
also something that’s soo him coded is having a picture of you in his wallet. like the cutest picture ever on earth, taken by him of course.
thinks you're the best thing that has happen to him in a long time and he adores you.
will just stare at you without you knowing (while you’re focusing on something else) and go “you’re gorgeous.”
there’s no doubt in my mind that he wouldn’t look at another woman like he looks at you. he wouldn’t dare even share a glance to them.
during his missions, he wouldn’t get you involved unless you wanted to be.
he would consider it for a little, just because you want to but deep down he’s just wants to say no and that be the end of it.
losing you scares him and to put you in the position where he would lose you is the last thing he wants to do.
when he leaves and doesn’t know if he coming back he says, “i’ll be with you forever soon.” before kissing your lips.
adding on to the gift one, he’d even carry it during his extreme antics. can’t help but think about him waking up after being shot, at the temple, and looking around for it (if it’s not on his person).
“the picture… that was in my pocket.” he’d ask quietly to the keeper. they point to the small bed side table, kid hadn’t taken note of before. he lets out almost a sigh once he finds the picture, but can’t help but worry about how you’re feeling. a frown slightly shadowing his face. “she’s beautiful,” the keeper comments.
when they put him on the news as a wanted terrorist, and even after, he stayed away, trying to keep you safe.
in his community, he’s seen the small kids grow up and older adults have seen him do so, so he’s very particular with who he introduces them to.
and let’s say he doesn’t hesitate all that much to do so with you.
i feel like the kids would warm up to you somewhat quickly.
feel like they would give you little trinkets or flowers they found, just cause.
if you play with them and kid witnesses?? he’s not gonna say it, he swears up and down it’s the cutest thing he’s seen in his life (gets baby fever).
in the sheets, he prefers sex to be passionate and loving. feel like he fucks you like it’s the last he’ll ever see you, every time.
feel like he’d like to rough with you sometimes. maybe if he’s stressed and he always asks if you want it rougher.
he talks you through it. like my god. but like really sweetly.
he’s a tit man! just feel like he’s too shy to look at your ass but definitely not shy enough to look down your top.

Door Lock

pairing; f.m reader x jungkook (ft. ryujin from itzy) genre; yandere, thriller, guessing game summary; ever since you had an encounter with a creepy man at your job, you started waking up feeling like things were off, after some time you start suspecting that you're not alone at night in your apartment, but the man from your job isn't the only one with questionable motives, can you guess who your stalker is? warnings; yandere themes, stalking, obsessive / unhealthy love, drugging, swearing, drinking, paranoia
wc; 6k note; based on the movie Door Lock (although not all events are exactly the same) - I wanted to try writing smth a little different than usual
'' Do you want me to walk you home? ''
'' Oh, come on! '' you sighed and rolled your eyes. '' I'm not a kid, my apartment's just around the corner. ''
Your friend, Ryujin, didn't look very happy with your answer. Her lips pursed, causing a dissatisfied look to form on her face. She crossed her arms and shook her head.
'' You're always so stubborn. ''
Ryujin only received a shrug in response as you had already started turning away from her, making up your mind a long time ago. She'd always say these things after the two of you had a late night out drinking.
And she'd always get turned down by her friend who thought she worried too much. Every time, you would arrive safely at your apartment, without anyone even following you or giving you a glance.
'' It went fine last week, Ryujin. Nothing will happen to me, it never does. ''
She scoffed dryly, '' I swear one day you're going to regret saying that, y/n. ''
'' Maybe, but not today! '' you cheerfully shouted to her when you had created some distance.
'' Text me when you get home at least! ''
You waved her off. The walk home was short because Ryujin always chose restaurants or bars near your apartment. It was around the corner and up the long stairs.
You always complained loudly about the stairs. Arriving home drenched in sweat and panting wasn't exactly ideal. But it was by far the least horrid thing about the route to your apartment.
The reason your friend was worried every time you walked home alone was mainly because the hill had no lights; it was pitch black, except for small splotches of light that came from the hill houses' outdoor lights.
It also had no CCTV so if anyone were to try something in the dark, no one would likely notice.
However, you had long accepted it. It was almost a given when the rent was so cheap, and you couldn't complain about the view. Since it was at the top of the hill, it faced downtown and often had beautiful sunsets.
On this night there wasn't a sunset in sight because it had long passed. The city was asleep, with only cicadas echoing up the hill.
About halfway up, you stopped to squint. Was that someone standing at the top? No - you must've imagined it.
You kept walking but occasionally glanced at the top from time to time. What you thought you saw had disappeared and when you finally reached the spot it was in, you were fully convinced your mind had played tricks on you.
The security guard greeted you when he saw you entering the building. You gave him a curt nod and hurried on, desperate to sleep in the comfort of your bed.
At your door, something felt off. Your eyebrows knit together as you crouched to look at the keypad. Had you really forgotten to close it this morning? You could've sworn you did.
You pressed the code and then wiped the screen with the sleeve of your shirt. It soon became forgotten when you stepped inside your apartment. The alcohol seemed to have clouded your mind on top of your senses.
With a yawn, you flopped down on the bed and fell fast asleep without changing, brushing your teeth, or getting under the covers.
You woke up with a terrible headache pounding your head. A groan slipped past your dry lips as you forced yourself to get up. Your whole world started spinning and you had to sit down to ground yourself.
Bile rose in your throat. You ran to the bathroom and managed to open the seat just in time for last night's pleasures to come out.
You felt confused again. Was it age that was starting to creep up on you? You didn't get hangovers very often, no matter how much you drank.
Resting against the tile wall behind, you let the cold cool your scorching skin. You knew you still had to go to work since you couldn't risk getting fired.
Slowly you peeled yourself off from the wall and started heading out after getting dressed. It was still relatively dark out, the winter sun rising on the horizon, but it was nowhere near as terrifying as when going home in the complete dark at night. That was a different type of darkness, a lonely one, which seemed to bring out the worst kinds of people lurking in the dark.
At work, your nice colleague greeted you with her usual cheery smile. She whispered that she had covered for you being late so no one had noticed.
With a grateful smile, you sat down in your spot and got ready to meet customers. Lately, you had noticed that your colleagues who were extra nice; smiling and almost touching the customers, would have more people go to their booths; so today, you were determined to put on your best fake polite smile and maybe you could get a permanent contract.
'' Number 29, please come to booth 4. ''
You saw a man stir in the crowd, hesitating, which made you internally sigh. You hadn't been very lucky with your booth number, that was yet another reason your performance always got criticized by your boss.
Sternly you leaned over the mic again, '' Number 29, please come forward. ''
The man finally gave up and walked over. When he sat down he looked both nervous and slightly uncomfortable. However, your warm smile made him loosen up.
'' Welcome. How can I help you today? ''
'' I would like to create an account. ''
You nodded and typed in the information. While working, you noticed his eyes on you, so you decided to strike up some small talk.
'' You live in Seongnam too? ''
The man's eyes widened, '' Yes...Do you live there? ''
'' I do, '' you chuckled, looking him right in the eyes now.
The intimate eye contact, coupled with your smile made him blush visibly. He looked away. Silence filled the space as you finished the last few things and showed him the screen. You gave him some necessary information, before handing him back his ID.
'' Maybe we can go out for coffee sometime? '' he mumbled after you were done talking and were ready to call the next customer.
He was handsome, there was no denying that, and he was definitely your type, with a bad boy appearance. He reminded you of your manager that you'd been crushing on and the cute new security guard at your apartment.
But it was unprofessional and you felt rather creeped out to be asked on a date at your job, especially in such an upfront way after you talked about where you lived.
'' Sorry, I can't do that. I'm working right now. ''
The man's smile faded, his eyes darkened and narrowed as he tilted his head, like he was unsure if he'd heard you correctly. '' I can take you out after. ''
Staring at him speechless, you wondered if the shy act he'd put on earlier was just that - an act. The man in front of you now didn't show any signs of being shy, quiet, nervous, or polite. He screamed of danger.
'' I- ''
'' You fucking whore! '' he cut you off screaming and catching the attention of everyone in the bank.
'' You flirted with me first, '' he started to his feet and began banging on the protective shield.
You jumped back, heart in your throat as you stammered. You couldn't get out a single word.
He tried reaching his arm in through the small gap and managed to pull you towards the shield. A scream ripped from your throat.
'' Security! '' you heard your manager shout.
You felt your arm be released just a few seconds later and you pulled away, breathing heavily. Even as he was being escorted away he kept screaming the same things, and creepily never taking his eyes off of you.
Red marks had formed where you were grabbed and you groaned when rubbing them. In the corner of your eye, you saw your manager approach so you quickly tried putting your arm under the table.
He saw it and grabbed it before you could do so. With a disappointed tick of his tongue, he inspected it and then freed you.
'' What a crazy asshole. ''
The shock had slowly started dissipating, '' Thank you. ''
'' No need to thank me, just call on me whenever you need. ''
You smiled awkwardly and bowed. Your manager left and the rest of the day went smooth sailing. Midday, you went for lunch with your coworker and Ryujin but you had a strange feeling in your stomach, like you were being watched.
It gnawed inside you, making it impossible to eat again. You put down your chopsticks and went back to work. Thankfully, after that, the thought was forced to the back of your mind due to how busy it was. You were pretty successful during the afternoon; making many customers satisfied as well as your boss, so you walked out at the end of the day with a small smile playing on your lips, despite the incident during the early hours.
'' Hey. ''
You froze in your steps. That voice, it sounded a lot like the man from before. You turned around very slowly, praying that you'd been mistaken.
The color drained off of your face when you faced him, it had been like you thought. The man from earlier was standing there, leaning back against the bus stop with a shit-eating grin on his face.
'' You have no idea how long I've waited for you. ''
Words got stuck in your dry throat. Your eyes started searching for help, but no one was around. Meanwhile, you could see how the man had started stalking towards you.
'' Why aren't you responding? You rude bit- ''
His hand caught your wrist in that painfully strong grip again and you yelped, flinging your arms around to escape him which had no effect at all; he just pulled you towards him, whipped you around, and hugged you from behind.
Suddenly, the grip loosened and you were pushed out of the way, almost knocking you over. You raised your head slowly.
The man was caught in a chokehold by your manager and couldn't get a word out, despite trying very hard to when he saw you move in the background.
You stared back at him, but after a few seconds, your eyes started flicking towards your manager's back instead. The man seemed to be losing consciousness and you started to feel anxious; this much violence wasn't necessary at all.
Without a word, you pulled your manager's hands away from the man who fell to the ground clutching his throat and coughing weakly.
'' I'm okay, '' you blurted out when he turned to you with a puzzled, almost angry look.
His frown disappeared and he seemingly accepted your answer. You let yourself be led towards his car and got in as you felt like your manager was someone you could trust. He had saved you twice now after all.
The whole ride, he talked about self-defense techniques; urging you to go to classes in the city and telling you about different weapons you could use. He also told you firmly that he'd file a police report for harassment and stalking since it was his job as a manager to keep his employees safe.
You only half-heartedly listened, feeling more zoned out the closer you got to the apartment building. The long day had made you incredibly tired, causing you to look forward to just going to sleep.
'' Take this, '' he concluded the rant right when the car pulled into the parking lot.
'' What is it? ''
'' It's a small pocket knife. ''
You frowned, '' That's illegal. ''
'' So? You'll be sorry if you get attacked and don't have it. ''
You hesitated for another moment. He grabbed your wrist and put it into your hand, closing it as if to say there'd be no further protest about the matter.
With a sigh, you gave up. Your manager parked the car and stepped out at the same time you did. He watched you as you went towards the entrance with one hand propped up on the roof of the car.
'' Do you need a ride tomorrow? ''
'' I'll be fine. Thank you, again, for- everything. ''
'' No problem, always glad to help. ''
And with that, he got back in the car and started it just as you opened the entrance door. You basked in the warmth that embraced you as soon as you entered the lobby.
The security guard who usually sat at the desk was nowhere to be seen. A smile shot to your lips. He was probably carrying up packages for the residents again, even though he wasn't allowed up there.
You glanced at his desk and something caught your attention. A very large package sat right on the edge of it, looking homemade with its messy taping and rough surface.
It intrigued you so you got closer. Your hand brushed along the material, eyes following it up all the way to the top where a small, white, paper square had been taped on.
' For: y/n '
You let out a small gasp. There was nothing else on the note, no other name or even address. Whoever sent it must've gone straight here instead of sending it through the mail.
With shaky hands, you used a cardboard knife cutter that was on the desk to cut the package open. Inside you saw a lone, small teddy bear. It was new, untouched, and had perfectly spot-free white fur.
You noticed it was holding a broken heart and it had a gloomy, melancholy expression on its face. While shoving your hand in to try and find if there was anything under the styrofoam, a sudden sound behind you made you jump.
'' Hey. ''
Recognizing the voice and placing it as belonging to the security guard, you visibly relaxed and turned around to face him.
'' You scared me. ''
'' Sorry about that. Ah, '' his eyes shifted to the package. '' you've opened it already. What was in it? ''
You waved the teddy bear in the air. '' Not much. Did you see who dropped it off? ''
'' It was just a regular delivery driver. He told me he'd been given it by some man the day before. ''
'' That's weird, '' you trailed off, mind already trying to come up with possible suspects.
For some reason, the dark staircase intruded your thoughts and in an instant, your focus shifted. Slowly your feet moved on their own until you were outside the building again.
The wind kissed your cheek and went past you, swirling down the steps. Your head turned with it. Just like the day before, it was dark, with only the scarce, dimly lit lamps illuminating spots here and there.
You weren't sure why you came out here. Had you expected to somehow spot the perpetrator in the dark, lurking while waiting for your reaction to opening the package?
One thing was for sure though, the gut feeling from before returned once again when you were at the staircase. That ominous, unexplainable feeling, of being watched.
The chill in the wind made you get back in as goosebumps littered your skin.
'' Did you see someone? ''
'' No, it's just...nothing. ''
You didn't feel like you were in the mood to explain and the security guard was thankfully exceptionally good at reading people, so he only smiled and bid goodnight.
In the dark of your own apartment, you lay for only a few minutes, aimlessly staring into the ceiling before it was interrupted by a rapt knock on your door. The sleepiness from before had disappeared since the new mystery had almost put you in a vigilant and paranoid state so you sprung up on your feet and opened it without any hesitation.
'' Sorry. You forgot this, '' it was your manager again, waving your wallet in the air.
'' Oh my god, I'm sorry. I feel like a burden now. ''
He laughed, '' It's fine. I noticed it almost right away. ''
You still felt bad even though he shook it off. Maybe you could invite him inside and offer tea or coffee for politeness; it was something you'd always seen your mom do when work on the house took a lot longer and the servicemen looked tired.
'' Would you like to come inside for a moment? I have coffee and tea. ''
'' I think I can spare a few minutes tea would be nice, '' he said, flashing a charming smile.
You returned it and then stepped aside so he could come in. He took a seat at your table next while you put the kettle on. An attempt at small talk was then made after silence briefly filled the space.
'' That guy will be banned from the bank, I'll see to it myself. You'll never have to worry about him again. ''
You sighed, '' Thank you, I don't know how I could ever pay you back, sir. ''
His eyes twinkled. Standing up he approached the door to the bathroom and pointed to it.
'' Can I use your bathroom? ''
'' Of course. ''
You went over to the kettle to see if it was almost ready. The sound of its hissing filled your ears. He took a long time in there and gave you room for your mind to wander off again.
He had found you quite quickly after you dropped your wallet and left the car. You stared at the door. Just as the door lock to the bathroom clicked, another thought struck you, this one much worse - How did he know where you lived?
Click
The door pushed open dramatically slow. Your manager stepped out and immediately locked eyes with you, he must've sensed something was wrong because he frowned.
His lips separated, but no words came out. He was left standing there, baffled, when you sprinted out of the apartment. You didn't stop until you reached the front desk.
'' Please call the police! ''
The security guard was startled by your entrance and jumped on his feet. '' What! Why? ''
'' My stalker is here, '' you waved your hands around, '' The one who gave me that package. ''
Things seemed to click in his head. He didn't question you further, instead calling the police and pulling you towards him protectively while you waited.
They arrived a lot quicker than you'd anticipated, which meant that only a few minutes had passed when your manager made his way downstairs after the shock had settled.
'' Why did you run? '' he questioned you.
You didn't answer and turned your head as if he was invisible. The security guard placed himself between you and your manager while the police led him out. He hadn't even been surprised they got called, it was like he was expecting them. You watched as they drove away with him in the back and sighed in relief.
'' Finally '' you mumbled to yourself, '' It's over. ''
The security guard smiled warmly at you which reminded you that you needed to thank him for his kindness.
'' I don't know how I could ever repay you for everything you've done for me. ''
He laughed, '' Don't worry about it. It's my job, and I'm just happy that you're safe. ''
'' Still, if it weren't for you I- '' you stopped, feeling yourself choking on tears as your mind imagined all possible endings.
He gave your shoulder a squeeze and looked at you sympathetically. Sensing that you needed some time to yourself, he then left to go talk to one of the remaining officers.
Long after they had all left and the commotion from the clamoring, nosey neighbors had settled, the feeling remained. It was hard going to sleep that night with your mind racing so much.
Despite that, you got ready and forced yourself to sleep, knowing that after some time you'd fall asleep naturally. You closed your eyes and daydreamed, occasionally taking a sip of the bottle of water next to your bed until falling into a deep slumber.
The next morning, you awoke with a pounding head yet again. Sitting up slowly you groaned and clutched it while your eyes looked around your apartment.
Something felt off.
You blamed the headache on stress and it causing you to not drink enough water, but you couldn't shake the feeling that the paranoia arose in you, the suspicion that someone had been inside your apartment.
'' That's nonsense, '' you sleepily mumbled to yourself.
One more yawn later and you managed to stand up, although with some difficulty. Inside the bathroom, you began to start your usual morning routine when your suspicions got closer to being confirmed.
On top of the toilet stood the roll of toilet paper. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary at first, it was in the same space it always was. However, on further inspection, the material was wet with a slight imprint of fingers.
You couldn't shake this off as a mere coincidence. All logical explanations were immediately ruled out - you hadn't showered before going to bed and the mark was so new, it wouldn't even have been left if you did go to the bathroom during the night. That was the thing, you didn't.
Freaked out of your mind, you did the first thing you could think of - leave the apartment.
With trembling hands, you managed to get your phone out while stumbling down the stairs. You called Ryujin who picked up almost immediately.
'' Y/n, you're late again! The boss is freaking out. ''
'' Sorry, I- '' you shook your pulsating head.
It was making you feel disoriented so words were formed a lot slower as your mind worked twice as slow.
'' Can you cover for me? I don't think I can come to work today actually. ''
'' What why? '' when she heard the uneasy tone in your voice, she paused. '' Did something happen? ''
'' I'll tell you later. ''
'' Okay, '' she worriedly agreed.
You had originally planned on going to work, but the events from the day before; as well as you convincing yourself that your stalker was waiting for you outside, made you reconsider.
On the short walk back to your apartment after you went to buy some food, you bumped into the security guard again.
'' Are you okay? ''
You turned around, quickly fixing your expression when you realized you must've looked erratic. '' Huh? ''
'' Did...something happen? ''
'' No. I'm okay. ''
You hurried to move on and get to your apartment. The silence inside when the door locked was deafening. A few seconds passed, then you turned all the lights on.
A kitchen knife was the weapon of choice as you navigated yourself through the apartment, checking every crook in it. You opened the door to your bedroom and bathroom with some hesitancy, only to find it completely empty, and just as you'd left them.
No one was hiding in your closet either, or under your couch, so you relaxed as you fell back on your bed again, exhausted from the stress and paranoia that was eating you up inside.
It must have been midday when you woke up again. It felt like it had been a long time since you left the building and actually went further than the corner shop.
Aimlessly you walked with a slight hurry to your steps, down the steep staircase, and into the center of the square where you hailed a cab.
Since the day before, you felt like you wanted to visit the police station. You needed to make sure the stalker had been caught and that it was just your mind playing tricks on you because you'd been so shaken up.
Thankfully it wasn't busy so you managed to get a hold of an officer at the desk right away.
'' Hey. How can I help you? ''
'' I'm wondering about someone you have in custody. I'm looking for someone and I want to see them. ''
'' Are you a family member? ''
'' No, is that okay? ''
'' State your relation to the person and who you want to see. ''
You filled in a form and then followed the lady at the reception as she led you through the maze that was the police station. The manager's eyes widened when he spotted you, and despite being warned by the guard not to, he started on his feet and grabbed the bars.
'' Y/n! Please tell them it was a misunderstanding. ''
Your lips thinned. '' I can't, because I'm not so sure it is. ''
He stared at you bewilderedly while incoherent words left his mouth until he finally turned his attention to the guard as an idea popped into his disoriented head.
'' Are you allowed to show her that I filed a report? ''
'' No sir. I can only confirm. ''
'' So you confirm that I filed a police report last night against the actual stalker and harasser of this lady? ''
'' I confirm you filed a report, '' the officer grumbled.
'' Why? ''
Your manager sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
'' Because I'm not the man who has been stalking you! ''
'' How can I trust you? ''
For whatever reason, he hesitated which made alarm bells ring in your ears. You weren't sure you'd believe anything he'd say from then on, it all seemed very planned and rehearsed.
'' Look. I got your room number from the security guard, I asked him where you lived since I needed to give you the wallet back. ''
You shook your head and backed away from the bars. '' No, I don't believe you. Ever since I joined the company you've always been there, ready to protect me, coming out of nowhere to pretend to be my hero. But you're the one pulling the strings behind the scenes! You are my stalker. ''
You directed your attention to the officer again. '' Have you got enough evidence to keep him longer? ''
The ticking of the large clock right above your head made you aware of the fact that they'd have to release him out of custody unless they had compelling evidence.
'' No ma'am. The DNA test results will arrive in a week. ''
You released a shaky breath and raised both your hands as if trying to grasp something invisible to ground yourself.
'' Okay, okay, '' you mumbled under your breath.
'' The other possible suspect will be arrested tonight. If you'd like, we can escort you back home safely. ''
'' Yes please, I'd appreciate that. ''
If you stayed inside for a week, which was slightly inconvenient but manageable nonetheless, then maybe they'd have newer evidence as well as the DNA results from the gift box you gave them.
The kind officers escorted you home as promised and for the first time in a long time, you didn't feel paranoid and scared while waving goodbye to them. You went upstairs and checked every room again before falling asleep.
As you awoke the next day, the sun had risen a long time ago. Your work was the last thing on your mind. Instead of calling in sick again, despite the risk of being fired, you called your friend Ryujin.
There was a chance that your manager had been released so you didn't want to be alone.
She picked up after only a few rings, sounding out of breath and worried. '' Y/n? Where the fuck have you been? ''
You jumped back and winched at her loud voice. She was shouting so much that you could hear her perfectly fine even while holding the phone an arm's length away from your ear.
'' I was so worried! I thought something bad happened to you after that pervert at work caused a scene, and then you call me once to tell me to cover for you at work! ''
She did have a point. You didn't give her an explanation after basically going completely silent. No one at work must've had any clue what was going on in your private life and why you weren't there. But if anyone deserved to know it was Ryujin.
'' I'm sorry, '' you began, sighing heavily. '' I've been dealing with a lot of shit lately. ''
'' Like what? '' she spat back, although less angry and loud this time.
'' It's hard to explain. Ever since that day I've been feeling like someone's been watching me. ''
'' A stalker? ''
'' Yeah, something like that. ''
'' Why didn't you tell me sooner? ''
'' It was a lot I had to process and figure out on my own first. I think this...stalker has been breaking into my apartment. ''
'' What? ''
'' I don't have a lot of proof of it. Mostly, it's just a feeling. ''
She went quiet for a moment, then when she spoke again, her voice sounded thick with sympathy. '' I believe you. ''
'' Thank you, '' you smiled wholeheartedly even though she couldn't see you.
You didn't know how much you'd missed her until you heard her voice again.
'' Do you wanna come over? ''
'' Of course. I think you need someone right now, '' she half-joked. '' I have enough vacation days, so that won't be a problem. I'll be over in twenty! ''
'' Okay, bye see you! ''
'' Bye! ''
You spent the next twenty minutes pacing back and forth in your apartment, not daring to go check if the toilet roll had been used again. When the bell rang, you felt so relieved, you didn't even check who it was.
Thankfully, that time it was actually Ryujin and not someone else. You flung yourself into her arms and hugged her tightly.
'' Oh wow, someone's missed me. ''
'' Shut up, '' you gave her a grin despite your words, which she returned as she sat down.
'' So. Tell me everything. ''
*******
After hearing the whole story, your friend was more worried than ever. Her reaction was a lot stronger than the other people who knew about it and you felt relieved she shared your paranoia.
The two of you drove down to the station so you could see if they had released him yet. Luck seemed to finally be on your side as they told you they had extended the time and were questioning both of the suspects since the creep from your job had been brought in too.
The weight on your shoulders had lifted completely now. Unless they broke out or were freed not long after, you'd at least have a night of serene rest, finally worry-free.
'' We will contact you when we have more information, '' the kind lady at the desk told you while you were leaving again.
'' Maybe I can go back to work tomorrow. ''
Ryujin turned her head so fast she almost crashed the car.
'' Are you sure? Do you not feel scared anymore? ''
'' No, why would I? I think it'll be okay. Soon they will get the results and they can finally be charged and put away forever. ''
She hummed in response, deep in thought, but agreed in the end that it would be good for you to go back to routine. You would put the whole thing behind you.
'' Thank you for dropping me off, and for coming over today. ''
'' No need to thank me, I was going crazy thinking about all the things that could've happened to you. Promise me you'll never leave me in the dark like that again! '' she frowned.
You laughed loudly, '' Promise. ''
As she drove off you waved enthusiastically so she'd see you were fine, because she kept asking if you were sure you didn't want her to stay the night.
On the way up, you saw the security guard again. He noticed your bright smile and lit up when he saw you.
'' You seem to be in a good mood today. ''
'' Yes! I am. ''
He stepped into the elevator with you and raised a small package in his hand to show you he was doing a delivery.
'' Is there any reason in particular? ''
'' The whole thing has been solved...well, pretty much anyway. The two suspects were arrested so I will be sleeping well tonight. ''
'' That's great! ''
You nodded, '' What floor are you going to? ''
'' Same as you, the eight, '' he gestured to the buttons and you pressed it for him.
'' You're too nice, I keep saying it. Shouldn't people come get their own packages in the lobby? ''
'' They should, but they don't. I guess the positive thing is that it leads to better reviews, so higher prices, and then I get a higher salary, '' he winked.
'' Smart, playing the long game. ''
You stepped out of the elevator and started walking towards your apartment. Even from afar, you noticed something was wrong with the lock. It kept beeping and flashing an error message.
It was quite easily fixed so you tried to contain your irritation on the inside.
'' Are you okay over there? '' the security guard shouted from the other side of the hallway.
He had dropped off his package and came over, having heard the noises.
'' Damn it. That fucker must've been inside this morning. ''
'' I thought he was arrested. ''
You nodded and swallowed bitterly, a look of disdain struck across your features. '' He was, I guess he just had to do it one last time. ''
'' Will you be okay? '' his soft voice sounded even more gentle as it was laced with genuine concern, '' do you want me to check? ''
'' No. The danger's gone, he can't hurt me anymore. ''
You didn't know if it was him you were trying to convince or yourself.
'' You can sleep with me, '' he timidly added.
'' What? '' you whipped your head around, having been lost in your thoughts for a moment.
'' I meant sleep by me, '' he blushed, '' in the lobby, if you feel scared. ''
You knew he probably meant well, but it was hard to hide the expression your face changed into since you felt a little weirded out. To sleep near someone is to trust them completely.
'' Thank you. I'll remember that in case I change my mind. ''
It was said in a stern tone, finalizing the conversation. The security guard was observant and picked up on it, nodding curtly before leaving. You gave the lock one final irritated look, then closed the door behind you and hurried to turn the lights on.
One tour later where you found no one and you were yet again left to make the hours go by until it was time to fall asleep again. You were thankful for the water bottle that always stood on your nightstand then as you downed it thirstily.
It washed over you like a wave, the sleepiness, and like it was knocking you over, you found yourself falling back against the soft mattress and blinking hazily at the ceiling.
Mere minutes after, you couldn't fight against it any longer so you became engulfed in what had become a familiar darkness. The sun outside slowly started fading, there was no way to tell how long it had been since you laid down; its last golden-red beams illuminated against your window.
Your room which was now one with the darkness suddenly lit up briefly. The screen of a phone on the table lighting up as a message popped up.
It went unnoticed and so the room turned black again. But then more messages came in, just when it was about to go dark - another lit up the room.
00:13
Ryujin: y/n?
Ryujin: can you answer me? this is important
00:14
Ryujin: are you okay?
00:15
Missed call from Ryujin
00:15
Ryujin: if you don't pick up the phone I'm coming over, if you see this, make sure you lock your door and the windows, also make sure you check everywhere!
Ryujin: the DNA results came in
The sound of a door unlocking echoed in the apartment. A hooded man stalked towards your sleeping form and the bed dipped as he sat down on it to pet your head.
00:15
Ryujin: it's not them, it's someone else
You stirred in your sleep, blissfully unaware of the danger that lurked just above you.
'' Sorry about the drugs, sweetheart. It's the only way I could visit you at night. But now, we will be together forever, '' the man said, and as he carried you out, the reflection in the mirror showed your stalker - the security guard.
*******
(explanation; although I think most people will guess it right I'll explain why it was him. The reason all she did was sleep was because of the drugs, he put them in the water bottle and then snuck in after she fell asleep during his nightshift, he laid next to her & even used her things (such as the paper) because he played '' house '' or pretended he was her boyfriend; since he was the security guard he had the easiest access to her as they often have keys to every apartment & it's also why he said he didn't see anyone delivering the package to y/n, I guess your enemies are a lot closer than you'd think c: !! if u have any more questions feel free to send them <3

Twelve Christmases
chapter tags: military, mission gone wrong, implied death of multiple civilians, author certainly gets everything about the military wrong
read below or on ao3
Day 4: 2004
“What the hell is this for?” Tommy asked angrily as he stared down at the medal on the desk.
“That's a Silver Star,” Captain Jones explained.
“I know what it is, I'm asking what the hell I'm getting it for.”
“Son-”
“Don't call me that. You just told me I'm being discharged, but for some reason I'm getting a medal?”
“You're being given the option of being honorably discharged, and you're receiving a silver star for your courageous-”
“Please, do not finish that sentence, Sir."
“Kinard, I know you're upset, and you have every right to be, but this is your only option right now.”
“Then it's not much of an option, is it?”
Jones sighed, leaning back in his chair and running a hand over his forehead. The room was warm, but a breeze flowed through the makeshift office. A glorified tent, really. “You haven't been eating,” he explained. “Haven't been sleeping. On the off chance you do sleep, you're waking everyone up with nightmares. There's a noticeable change in behavior. There are a lot of people worried about you.”
“You mean people who don't wanna fly with me.”
“Can you blame them?” he asked. “You're not yourself ever since-” he cut himself off quickly.
“Ever since?” Tommy beckoned. “Ever since I was ordered to kill ten innocent civilians?”
“It was an order to target a terrorist cell! We didn't know the intel was bad until it was too late.”
“Well, that makes it all okay, then," he replied sarcastically with a scoff. "I'm just supposed to move right along and forget it ever happened?”
“Yes, that's exactly what you're supposed to do,” Jones answered frankly. “And it's also clear that's not going to happen with you. That's why accepting the star and the honorable discharge is your best option.”
“I thought it was my only option.”
Jones took a deep breath. “I'm a messenger here, Tommy, that's it. You don't accept what I'm offering, you talk about what happened, you're gonna get discharged anyway but it won't be honorable anymore. They'll make your psych eval results public, and you'll have an other-than-honorable, or a dishonorable discharge, that will follow you around forever. It will make it more difficult for you to get a job and you'll lose your benefits as a veteran. Is that really what you want?”
Tommy stared down at the medal, but he didn't respond.
“You need to go home, Tommy. You need to see a therapist, get in a veteran's program. I know you're young, you're only twenty, and this seems like the end of road for you, but it's not. It can be the start of something better.”
Tommy continued to stare. He took three breaths before responding. “When do I leave?”
“Next flight out is December 26th. Tomorrow morning.”
Tommy nodded, then stood. He had no fight left in him. He turned to leave but didn't get too far before-
“Kinard!” Jones called, grabbing up the box the medal was in and walking around his desk. “There's usually a ceremony for these types of things, but I didn't think you'd want that.” He handed Tommy the medal. “You are officially relieved of duty. On behalf of the United States Armed Forces, we are grateful for your service. ”
Tommy glanced down at the medal one last time before snapping the box shut. As he walked out of the office, he tossed it into the trash can that was beside the door of the tent.
He left the next day without saying goodbye to anyone.
It would take years for him to get a good night's sleep again.

Satoru and Suguru, but through Megumi’s eyes?
I’ve thought about this a lot lately, let me explain:
“I.
Megumi is 7, and he wakes up from the same nightmare for the third night in a row. He plods along the hallway, his arms wrapped firmly around his middle, and reaches up to turn the knob on Satoru and Suguru’s door.
The darkness of the room seems to seep out into the hall as he takes a few timid steps into the room. He’s noticed immediately, of course, by the two men in the bed.
“What’s wrong?” Satoru asks immediately, his voice slurred with sleep. Megumi can see him looking at him as his eyes adjust to the low light. Of course, Satoru’s eyes don’t need to adjust, so he knew it was him. He also sees Suguru, who had initially startled awake as well, lie back down, almost immediately asleep.
“Can I sleep here?” Megumi asks, whispering.
Satoru pats the bed next to him, scooting over to let Megumi settle in the middle. Megumi crawls into the bed without another word.
Satoru curls on his side, facing him, and stretches an arm out above Megumi’s head. He ruffles a hand through Megumi’s hair, then buries his hand into Suguru’s hair.
Megumi’s eyelids finally grow heavy again in the warm, safe darkness surrounding him, and he falls asleep to the sound of their even breathing.
II.
Megumi is 10, and he hears the front door open and the door to the hallway bathroom slam. He’s sitting in front of the living room TV playing video games, and he turns around to see Satoru hanging up his keys. He smiles softly at Megumi. Suguru must have been the door-slammer, then.
Megumi hears retching from behind the bathroom door. He stands up to go check, to help. Satoru shakes his head no—not unkindly, but definitively. “I know you’re worried, but he’s okay. Just a hard mission. I’m going to go help, okay? Just giving him a second. Everyone needs a second sometimes, yeah?” Satoru fills the electric tea kettle with water and flicks it on.
“If you really want to help, you can fill this mug up with water when the kettle beeps. Not all the way to the top, just most of the way,” Satoru says, taking a mug down from the cabinet and slicing up a chunk of ginger, throwing the slices into the mug.
Then, he walks into the bathroom and closes the door behind him.
Megumi stands by the kettle, taking his post seriously, waiting patiently for it to beep.
III.
Megumi is 15, and he isn’t supposed to be home yet.
He rounds the corner next to his bedroom door when he hears them.
“He loves him, Sugu. And I don’t—I don’t know—I mean, can I save him?” Satoru gasps, clearly crying.
“I know. Breathe. This isn’t your fault, you’re doing what you can. You always do,” Suguru murmurs in response, and Megumi hears the bed creak as he shifts his position.
“Megumi will never forgive me if I have to kill Yuji. Never, Suguru,” Satoru’s sobs are muffled now, likely against Suguru’s chest.
“Satoru, let’s cross that bridge when we get to it. Hell, if we get to it. You don’t know that it’ll ever be relevant,” Suguru’s voice is soothing, softer than Megumi is used to hearing it.
Satoru doesn’t respond, and the next thing Megumi hears is Suguru’s gentle plea : “You have to breathe, Toru, come on, count with me.”
He walks away from the door.
IV.
Megumi is 16, and he isn’t sure what woke him. His phone screen tells him it’s 1:27 a.m. Maybe Satoru finally made it home from his mission.
He ambles out of his bedroom, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, just to make sure.
He hears hushed voices before he rounds the corner to the living room. Unsure why anyone would be up that isn’t Satoru, who likely wouldn’t be talking to himself, Megumi is suddenly on alert. He slides his back against the wall, peering around the corner to see who’s there.
It’s Suguru.
He exhales.
After seeing Suguru’s face, however, he feels like his sigh of relief may have been premature.
“Do you want to take a shower, maybe?” Suguru murmurs, standing in front of Satoru where he sits on the couch, pulling off his boots. Satoru places the shoes next to the couch and lets his forehead fall against Suguru’s abdomen. Suguru is quick to wrap a hand around his head, threading his fingers through the hair that isn’t matted down under his blindfold.
“I just want to sleep,” Satoru sighs, and Megumi immediately notices how weary he sounds. His clothing is, as usual, clean and untouched, a byproduct of Infinity, but wherever he’d been had clearly taken a toll on him. Suguru massages Satoru’s head at the temples.
“Come on, I’ll turn off the lights and start the water,” Suguru whispers.
Satoru nods, inhaling shakily.
“Hey, I’ve got you,” Suguru breathes, sitting down on his heels to rest his forehead against Satoru’s.
Megumi, suddenly feeling the weight of his intrusion, creeps back to his room as quietly as possible.
V.
Megumi is 17, and he hears Satoru and Suguru arguing in the kitchen. He pulls out a headphone to listen, pausing the music he’d been listening to while doing homework on the living room floor.
“I just don’t feel like it, Satoru. Isn’t that a good enough reason?”
“No, because you never ‘feel like it’ anymore! You’d think I was asking you for a miracle, not to literally just go out for the evening.”
“Well, you never ‘feel like’ doing anything I want to do either. When’s the last time you sat and read a book with me, huh?”
“That’s different, Suguru, I’ve never done that. You know what I’m saying, and you’re purposefully ignoring it.”
Suguru doesn’t reply.
“Things are bad again, aren’t they?”
Suguru still doesn’t reply.
“Please talk to me.”
“I don’t want to talk. I just want to sleep. You go out. Invite Shoko; she’ll appreciate it.”
“I want to help you, you asshole. Stop pushing me away.”
“I don’t want your help, Satoru.”
Satoru laughs harshly at this.
“Yeah, well, you sure as fuck need it.”
“Fuck you.”
“Fuck you! Are you kidding me? You’re just content to rot, going to work and then coming home and sleeping your life away? Or some other fucking mindless activity? It’s not normal, Suguru. It’s not healthy. And I’m not just going to sit by and watch you do it.”
“You think I don’t know that?” Suguru raises his voice, which catches Megumi off guard. He never yells.
“Nothing about this is normal, Satoru. My life, our lives, me. I’m not normal. Do you think I like this? Feeling fucking hopeless, not having the energy to do anything, fucking sitting on the floor in the shower because it’s too much to stand—“
“—Suguru, listen—“
“—Don’t interrupt me.”
They are silent for a few long moments.
“I’m sorry,” Suguru says, raggedly.
“No, I’m sorry, I said I wanted to help and I’m definitely not helping,” Satoru sighs.
“I—Satoru, I—“ Suguru tries, then stops.
“Things are bad again,” Suguru settles on, his voice breaking.
Megumi doesn’t hear Satoru reply, just the sound of a chair scraping against the floor.
Satoru only speaks when Suguru starts crying.
Whatever Satoru says to him is too soft for Megumi to hear.

seventeen maknae line’s reaction to their youngest member not taking care of themselves
Tumblr media
genre - fluff
warnings - talk about unhealthy eating habits, diet culture, sleep problems
lee seokmin
would anyone be surprised if i say that dk would be on you like a fucking rash if he notices a single thing out of the ordinary with you
like even if it’s just you being forgetful, this absolute angel of a man will 100% take the time and effort to seek you and and check on you
so when you sleep through your alarm and forget breakfast one morning, it’s no surprise when you wake up to seokmin’s face
“are you feeling alright?” he asks, voice gentle as he studies your sleepy face, “you missed breakfast…”
and of course you nod, because you’re feeling fine, but it doesn’t stop him from being concerned
“late night,” you reply as you sit up on your bed and rub your face, “must’ve just slept through my alarm, minnie.”
you say it to calm him down and stop him from worrying, but you only make it worse
“late night?” he sits down on your bed and grabs your hand, “couldn’t you sleep? is something on your mind? do i need to talk to someone for you?”
and you can’t help but laugh because trust seokmin to blow it out of proportion
you just lean into him and hug him as you tell him how grateful you are to have someone who cares so much
“i’m fine though, minnie,” you squeeze him, “i just needed to beat wonwoo’s high score in mario kart…”
kim mingyu
he’s someone i can see accidentally taking care of you
like he hasn’t even noticed the fact that you’ve started to be a little too strict with your diet and yet somehow he’s managing to make sure you’re eating enough
like i can see him cooking a meal and without even realising you haven’t eaten yet, he calls you over to try it
and the big baby blows on it and feeds it to you like to overly attentive friend/self-claimed big brother that he is
“open wide, kiddo,” he grins as you follow his instructions, “here comes the aeroplane!”
he only narrowly dodges the kick you aim at his shins…
and you have to admit that the food is good, and even if you don’t necessarily want to eat, you’re in a difficult situation
you can’t say it’s bad and deny it because then you’ll upset him, but you also can’t say it’s good and deny it because then he’ll make you take it anyway
best thing for you to do is just accept the food and move on
you promise you’ll try harder with your diet tomorrow
but as you walk away with the bowl of food, you know you won’t be able to - not with mingyu around
xu minghao
i mentioned minghao briefly in the hyung line one and i stand by what i said
this man monitors your diet like a hawk!!
not in a weird ‘you shouldn’t eat too much’ sort of way, but he likes to make sure you’re treating your body kindly
like he watches that you’re not eating too much of a bad thing, but he also likes to check that you’re not eating too little
literally follows you around with a piece of fruit in his bag for when you inevitably complain about being hungry
“oranges are a great source of vitamin c,” he says when he sees you pout at the fruit, “and i know you don’t get enough of that. now eat up!”
and if he sees you even eyeing up an energy drink, you best prepare yourself for the lecture of your life
“do you know how much caffeine is in one of these?” he hold the half drunk can in your face, “too much! if you’re tired, sleep more. god knows you need it…”
little do you know, he monitors your sleep too…
drags you out to do meditation with him if he sees that you’re up too late, knowing that by the time he’s finished you’ll be completely knocked out
he’ll complain about having to drag your tired body to bed yet again, but you can’t see the smile he wears as he tucks you in and wishes you a good night
boo seungkwan
i can see seungkwan as being very overly-attentive to your mental health more than anything else
like sure, he wants to make sure you’re taking care of your physical health too, but he knows that if you’re not there’s probably a deeper reason
so when he sees you arrive at practice one morning with deep eye bags and a frown, he is all over you in minutes
“bad sleep?” he asks as he ruffles your hair. you shrug, but he doesn’t mind. you don’t have to agree for him to know that he’s right, “want to talk about it?”
you sigh, knowing there’s no way of escaping his line of questioning
“i thought it was about time i went on a diet,” you say simply as you drop your bag in the corner, “i was up late researching what diet would be best.”
he scoffs and rolls his eyes, clearly dismayed with your words
“and why do you think you need to diet?” he says with a stern look on his face and you realise you’re not going to get out of this easily
all you can do is explain your thought process, and while he listens to every word you say, it’s obvious he’s more than upset
“if you want to do this, i cant stop you,” he says when you’re finished, “but i want you to do it for the right reasons, and i want you to do it healthily.”
chwe hansol
i think vernon would take care of you a lot, but you might not always notice since he does it silently
like this man will not express his worries about you not looking after yourself, he’ll just try his hardest to solve it
you’re not eating enough? he makes sure to put more meat on your plate during meal times
you’re not sleeping enough? he puts some melatonin gummies on your nightstand
you’re not drinking enough? you’re the first person he seeks out during breaks to offer a bottle of water to
it might take you a while to notice just how much he’s taking care of you at first, but when you do you always go out of your way to thank him
but you take a leaf out of his own book, and do it a little differently
“someone gave me some melatonin,” you say to seungcheol, but just loud enough that vernon can hear, “it helped so much! like, whoever it was is a hero.”
your eyes keep flickering over to vernon the whole time you’re talking, just so he knows that you know it’s him
and sure, he doesn’t do it for the praise, but he can’t deny it’s nice when you’re hyping him up anonymously to the other members
lee chan
this man will be your partner in crime and i guarantee he can and will absolutely use that against you if he needs to
like he insists on you two doing everything together and if you say you’re not doing anything? well neither is he!
and of course, when chan says he’s not going to eat dinner because you’re not, you feel so incredibly guilty that you decide that you decide maybe you shouldn’t skip the meal
“if you’re not hungry, then i’m not hungry!” he folds his arms and stares you down
“chan, that’s not how it works,” you scoff as you scan over some lyric sheets you’d been tasked to memorise, “if you’re hungry, go eat.”
he shakes his head and stays glued to his chair with a smirk
“we do everything together,” he says, “and if you’re being irresponsible and skipping meals, then we’ll do that together too!”
and whilst his logic makes no sense, you know he means it
so of course you push your work to the side and follow him out of the room to get dinner together
and when you’re up too late working too hard, chan is right by your side throughout the whole thing, refusing to sleep until you do
and it’s frustrating because you want to take care of chan just as much as he wants to take care of you
so you eat all your meals, and sleep a healthy amount, and drink as much water as you can and it’s annoying, but if it’s keeping chan healthy then you’re happy

Hi! I hope this is okay, it’s my first time asking you and I don’t wanna burden you. You don’t have to write it but it’ll be super awesome if you do. So could you maybe write where little!reader has a healing power but it would drain her energy depending on how big is the injury. So one time daddy!bucky goes out on his mission but he’s so careless and he got nasty injury it’s so bad, he can’t move without feeling like he would pass out (maybe a big deep cut or smthg) and he did get them stitched or fixed. But cause he’s the best daddy ever he still takes care of the reader and reader is so worried cause he looks pale due to his injury and it looks like he’s in pain and maybe he sits down after awhile and sleep on the couch. Then reader comes to him and saw blood seeping out of his clothes and so reader panicked bcs she thought he’s dying so she can’t help but heal him (despite him telling her to never do it since it drains her). And then Bucky wakes up seeing reader passing out and sees that his injury is gone and he freaks out.
You can decide the ending. Ik it’s a lot but I hope you don’t mind writing this. You’re one of my fav writer and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Hi there love! 💜
Of course it’s totally okay and I actually really love the idea thank you so much for asking me to write this! It’s really good !! 😍
And you’re not a burden at all babe, I absolutely love your demand and I’m more than happy to write it 🫶
I really hope you liked how I turn your beautiful request 💋
Enjoy <33

Warnings : bad words, mention of I jury and blood, anxiety, traumatic,
Pairings : Daddies!Stucky ; Daddy!Bucky x Papa!Steve x Little!Reader
Summary : your daddies want to protect you but what if you want to protect them ?
*****
‘’Okay tell me how bad it is, rogers’’ stark asks through the phone.
It was a late Friday night, it’s been almost two weeks that Tony and Pepper take care of you while your Daddies are on a mission with Dr Strange, Wanda and Natasha.
You’re used to be with them or others of your daddies’s friends whenever they have to leave to save the world so you could sleep in a safe place like they like to say, but this time it start to get really long.
You love Pepper and Tony, in fact you love all of them but you have a little weakness for the big red guy. Tony loves to give you cookies or ice cream through the day so of course he’s your favorite
‘’Yes I’ll get the basement ready for when you land. Get here as quickly as possible and I’ll do my best so we can take care of him right away’’ Tony nods at himself, already preparing everything they’ll need in the next few hours
‘’ alright be careful with him, see you soon’’ he ends up the call and turns around. He gasps and let out a little jump when he sees you standing behind him in the middle of the room
‘’For the love of god’’ he breathes out with a hand on his chest ‘’stop doing that to me, trouble’’ he points his index at you
You giggle at his reaction and watch him walking toward you ‘’it was papa ?’’
‘’Yes it was’’ he smiles at you ‘’they’ll be back today’’ he winks
Your eyes brighten ‘’oh yeahhhhh’’ you yell happily
He watches with a sad smile as you jump away, smiling and singing to get ready for greeting your Daddies, all happy about the good news.
He just hopes everything will be okay and it scares him that he doesn’t know what will happen.
‘’Hey’’ he calls making you turn around. ‘’They’ll have to go in the basement as soon as they get here to give them their vaccines and a check up so you’ll see them after that’’ he lies
You nod ‘’okay’’ and leave
~
‘’Careful’’
‘’Careful’’
‘’Careful’’
‘’I Said careful!!’’ Steve yells ‘’you’re being too harsh with him! Don’t you see that he’s in pain!?’’
‘’Rogers, you go wait outside the room’’ Tony says
‘’The fuck I am’’ he snaps back ‘’if you want me to leave you’ll have to do it yourself because I won’t move from this spot’’
Tony sighs and nods, he can make him leave but it won’t help anyone ‘’as long as you don’t stay on your paths you can stay either way you’re out’’
Steve looks back at Bucky, pain in his eyes as he watches the love of his life laying on the bed, covered in blood
He watches everyone doing their jobs, everything is in slow motion, he feels his breath blocking in the middle of his throat as he stays there, powerless.
Bucky groans in pain making Steve tears up. He hates seeing the people he loves hurting, he does that job to protect the world but to mainly protect his family.
It happens that he or Bucky get hurt on a mission, it happens that you are hurt after falling in the garden or catching a cold after playing outside while it was raining.
All of that happens because it’s a part of life, you can’t be protect for everything, you have to learn and you have to go through experiences that make you grow.
But this, what is happening to Bucky is not a little experience, it’s not a part of life where you can close your eyes and get over it. This will have consequences and he knows that.
The thing he doesn’t know is how he’ll tell you the news…
~
‘’Hi princess’’ Steve smiles as he knocks on your bedroom door.
Like the good girl you are you patiently waited in your room knowing your daddies were home and waited until someone comes and get you.
You turn your head and let out the biggest smile you could. You stand up and your little feet run to carry you right into your Papa’s arms.
He wraps his arms around you and lifts you up ‘’oh I missed you so much my sweet angel’’
‘’I missed you too’’ you kiss his cheek. You frown and pull away after feeling something weird on his cheek. You see a tear falling from his eye and look into his eyes ‘’why you cry ?’’
He kisses your forehead and goes sit on your bed
‘’I changes m’ bed’’ you proudly say, forgetting a little about everything.
He smiles through his tears and takes your hand ‘’that’s wonderful baby’’
He sniffs a little and get back your attention ‘’listen I have to tell you something’’
You look up at him with your bright and beautiful eyes
‘’Daddy had an injury during the mission’’ he starts, your eyes fall more and more as he speaks
‘’He’s downstairs with a lots of doctors who are here to help him getting better but it’ll be hard and it’ll be a long process. We will have to be understanding with him and he’ll need us’’ he caresses your hair ‘’we’ll have to be careful around him’’
A few years left your eyes as you keep staring into your Papa’s
He gently wipes them away and kisses your nose ‘’he’ll be okay sweetie, he has all the help he need and after that he’ll need us’’
You sniff and nod ‘’daddy needs me ?’’ You quietly ask
He nods ‘’yes, daddy needs you’’ he stands up and rests you on his hip ‘’we should be able to see him now’’
After they took care of him, they set him on a calm and quiet room while he was still passed out
That’s where your papa takes you. He opens the door after asking you to be quiet and good and let you in. You slowly walk toward the chair beside the bed and sit down.
You watch all the big machines that make weird noises, it’s big, everything is big in this room.
Your Papa lifts you up and sit you on his slap after sitting himself down on the seat ‘’look how peaceful he looks while he’s sleeping’’ he whispers in your ear ‘’just like you at night’’
~
It’s been a few days now that your Daddy is up on his feet. Like your Papa said he needed help, lots of helps but you’re more than okay to be a part of his healing.
He tried many times to play with you but it just last a few minutes, he gets tired quickly.
You remembered a few days ago that you actually could help your Daddy. You forgot about that because of the anxiety to see your Daddy hurting and your minds were everywhere but on your ability to heal others.
You talked about it to your Papa but he of course said no immediately, just like your Daddy.
It takes a lot of you to use that power and heal people so the less you use it the better you are.
Your papa told you he couldn’t let you do that because he needs you to take care of your Daddy, and if you use your power he’ll have to take care of the both of you.
‘’Okay baby, i need to lay down a little bit I’m really tired’’ Bucky breathes out after playing with your dolls. He made an effort and played longer than usually but he can’t take it anymore
You help him laying down on the couch and keep playing silently while taking glances at him from time to time.
Today he’s more pale than before, you start to feel that he’s not getting better and the idea of him having an infection or anything bad is terrifying you.
If daddy is healed then he doesn’t need me so I can use my power you tell yourself
So your choice is done.
You stand up and kneel beside the couch. Your put your hands above his wounds without touching it and close your eyes, letting all your magic go.
~
‘’Sweetie I’ll need your help for dinner’’ your Papa says as he walks down the stairs. He makes his way in the living room but stop in his tracks when he sees you on the floor beside the couch
‘’Oh my god’’
He rushes toward you and feel that your body is really cold. As he keeps touching you he glances at your Daddy on the couch and look at his wound.
He shakes Bucky awake knowing that now it’s like he was never hurt at all ‘’Buck I need your help’’
Don’t get him wrong, he’s more than happy that Bucky is finally okay but not like that and now is not the time.
Bucky groans ans opens an eye ‘’Steve I’m tired I need to sleep’’
‘’she healed you you don’t need to sleep now you need to help me’’ he says anxious ‘’now!’’
It take two secondes at Bucky to realise what happened and he immediately stand up ‘’get her to bed while I take the towels’’
They know what to do, whenever it happens you need the same things. You need to be laying on a bed with hot towels all over you to raise your body temperature. You need sugar ready for when you open an eyes and water, lots of water.
And that’s exactly what your Daddies are preparing.
They’re resting on your sides the whole time, they talked to you and have the phone on their hands incase something gets wrong.
‘’You’re strong baby, the strongest person I’ve ever met but you can be the stupidest one I’ve ever seen in my life’’ your Daddy jokes before sniffing
Steve smiles upside down as he strokes your cheek ‘’she sure is’
You groan and frown ‘’not true’’
They both let out a breath of relief, your daddy kisses your hand while your papa takes the water ‘’here baby’’
He helps you drinking and then come sit beside you ‘’why did you do that beautiful ?’’ Your Daddy asks, sitting on the other side
‘’Because I wanted to help you’’ you quietly say
‘’no baby, it’s really nice of you for that but you are our priority, it hurts you to heal people and even more if the injury is big. All I need is you to be healthy and okay’’ your Daddy kisses your forehead
‘’Do you understand that ?’´
You nod ‘yes daddy’’
‘’Good’’, ‘’beside that, thank you for doing that for me, my love’’
You smile and snuggle closer to them
‘’You’re tired baby ?’’ Your papa asks, putting the cover more above you.
You nod and close your eyes from the tiredness
‘’It’s okay, it’s been a rough week. Sleep baby we’re not getting anywhere’’ Steve says as he kisses your nose
You feel them shifting beside you to lie down and let your exhaustion take over you

Reneé had woken up at 3am to a call from you. She had a separate ringtone just for you, so she could easily recognize when it was you calling versus someone else.
With a tired groan, the blonde reached for her phone and picked it up, answering your call." Hi, baby." Her tone was low, little raspy from sleep.
"I'm gay." You practically blurted it out between sobs and it took her a moment to register what was actually happening. She quickly sat up, holding her phone to her ear," Reneé, I'm gay and I don't know what else to do-"
"Okay, okay. Shh, baby. Deep breaths." She waited as she listened to make sure you were taking breaths," I'm proud of you for coming out. That's amazing and we can totally celebrate later if that's something you're down for- but right now we can just talk. Or you can talk and I can listen."
You took deep breaths, listening to Reneé's voice as she rambled. The idea of celebrating with her later was nice... but you were still freaking out. You'd been up all night having anxiety attacks over this until you finally called Reneé. Who was one of the only gay people you personally knew.
"I... I'm scared, Neé. This changes everything- I- God. Fuck." You groaned, leaning back on your bed. You couldn't get your words together you were so exhausted. But at the same time you couldn't sleep. Sleep- shit. You just realized you probably woke Reneé up," God, I'm sorry- I woke you, didn't I?"
"You did. But it's okay. Especially when it's for a call like this. Want me to come over?"
"Yes please." You breathed out a sigh of relief. Glad that Reneé wasn't upset with you for waking her and glad that she was coming over to help you. She was an incredible friend and you don't know what you would do without her most days.
It didn't take long before you heard a knock at your door and went over to open it, finding Reneé standing there with a box of chocolates and your favourite ice cream.
"Wasn't sure if this would be a chocolate situation or an ice cream, so I bought both." She handed them to you and you gave her a soft a smile. Taking the sweets from her.
"Thanks, Neé." You moved out of the way so she could get inside and headed to your kitchen. You put one of your treats away (you can decide which one) and kept the other. Walking back over to Reneé who sat on the couch, watching you closely.
"What do you need from me? Advice? Comfort? Someone to listen?" She asked, she wanted this to be all about you. It was a big moment.
You thought about it and then looked into her eyes as you took a bite from your treat," maybe all three?"
She nodded and rested her arm to the back of the couch as she faced you fully, listening to your every word.
"I just... lately I've really started notice that I feel different around girls. Like, how I'm supposed to feel for guys but I don't feel that way at all for them and it was just really confusing. I've been up the last week or so just nonstop thinking about it and then finally just decided to call you because I really don't know what else to do." You rambled out, she sat and listened.
That explained why you looked so tired to her all week, Reneé didn't realize how poorly you'd been sleeping and that worried her.
"It can feel that way." Reneé nodded," if you're certain you're gay then you're gay, that's okay, Y/N. And if anyone tells you otherwise you send them to me."
You laughed a little at that last bit and nodded, yeah. You'd be safe with Reneé backing you up.
"Thank you, seriously. You're... amazing." Reneé didn't miss the dreaminess in your tone and bit back a smirk. She had a good feeling about what that meant and how you felt towards her, but she stayed quiet on that. Wanting you to come to terms with it first because you probably didn't even fully realize at this point.
"Of course, baby. How do you want this to go? Do you want people to know?" She asked.
"I don't think I do... at least, not yet. I want to get a little more comfortable with it first."
She gave your hand a small squeeze," sounds perfect. You don't ever have to come out if that's not something you want, either. But should you decide to... I'll be there every step of the way."
The rest of your night was spent relaxing with each other, eating snacks, watching movies. Until about 5am when you both fell asleep against each other on the couch. And that was the best sleep you'd had in a long time.

one giving the other their jacket / covering them with it when they fall asleep with hangman please?
It hadn’t been his idea to have a beach bonfire on one of the coldest nights in winter. The wind chill from the sea was adding to the cold air, and while the bonfire had done the trick for most of the night in keeping him, his squadron and the others who had attended warm, it was wearing off now that the bonfire was starting to get smaller.
You, being his best friend, had sat beside him for most of the night except for when you’d gotten up to chat to others or get a drink or a snack. But when the night started getting cooler, you’d happily settled down on the chair right beside Jake, enjoying the comfort of his warmth.
Jake turned to you a little after 11pm when it started to get noticeably cooler. You were snug into his side, one of his arms wrapped around your shoulders to keep you close so you didn’t get too cold.
It was just a friendly thing to do, he thought.
As if he’d do it with anyone else but you.
“You warm enough?” He asked. “I got a blanket somewhere in the car if you want me to run and get it? Or I can start saying my goodbyes and drive you home?”
He’d decided not to drink as much tonight – only a couple at the start of the night, which was hours ago by now so they’d mostly worn out of his system – so that he could drive you home and you wouldn’t have to worry about getting a lift with someone else. It was a rare occasion for Jake not to be drinking, but he’d never forgive himself if you didn’t get home safe . He wanted you to be able to rely on him.
You shook your head. “Nah, I’m fine. I’m warm enough right here. We can stay longer.”
Jake nodded and tugged you closer into his side. That was when he noticed that you’d started shivering. You tried your best to stop it, not wanting him to notice, but it was too late.
“You liar,” Jake narrowed his eyes at you, a playful glint in them. “You’re shivering. Okay, you stay right here and I’m gonna go and get the blanket from the car.” He started to stand up, fully intending on getting the blanket for you, when you stopped him by grabbing his arm gently, tugging him back.
“I’m gonna be colder if you go, so sit your ass back down. I’ll live.”
He wasn’t going to give up that easily though. He huffed and sat down beside you, starting to pull off his jacket. It was one of his best winter jackets, fluffy and warm on the inside and wind proof on the outside. And Jake… well, he was hot enough to stay warm without it.
He turned to face you and gently draped his jacket over your shoulders, pulling it close around you to make sure it wasn’t going to fall off and would do its job at keeping you warm.
“That better?”
The warmth was immediate from the second he put the jacket on you. Both from the material itself and the lingering body heat from Jake. You snuggled down inside the jacket and buried your chin into its warmth. “I’m toasty now.”
Jake smiled and leaned back into his chair, moving to wrap his arm back around your shoulders and pull you into his side again. You were still shivering, but as time went on he noticed that stopped as you got warmer.
He didn’t notice, however, that you’d started to drift off onto his shoulder until Coyote walked past him and pointed it out to him. Jake glanced down at you, unable to move. It was like he had a cat on his lap and he couldn’t move out of fear of the cat moving off of him. The last thing he wanted to do was wake you up.
Then he saw that his jacket had started to fall off of your shoulder.
Gently, he raised the arm you weren’t leaning on and moved it to pull the jacket back up over your shoulder to try and keep you warm and hopefully fast asleep. You, luckily, didn’t stir at all and he was able to relax after fixing the jacket.
Jake smiled to himself and looked down at you, sleeping soundly on his shoulder. As long as you were warm and comfortable and as long as he didn’t wake you up, Jake would be happy.

Could you please do a fourth grade from mid 90s x reader where fourth grade doesn’t have a place to stay so she lets him stay at her house and they confess their feelings to each other thank you
FUCK IT, I LOVE YOU
Tumblr media
fourth grade x gn! reader
warnings: mentions of homelessness, swearing (it’s mid90s so), anxious fourth grade, insecure fourth grade, fluffy kinda?
“wish that you would hold me or just say that you were mine,”
Y/n was usually out late. They enjoyed the nightlife of the city compared to the festivities of the morning. Sure it was nice to get out when the sun was rising and the city was just waking up. But, to y/n, the real fun happened when everyone was already asleep.
Sure it could be scary. Sometimes it did get boring. All that empty darkness with few awake to spend the night with. It only appealed to them because of the serenity. The night didn’t have to be wild for them to enjoy it. Some of their best nights were spent simply gazing at the stars. Or having a deep meaningful conversation in the moonlight.
On one of their many walks, unaccompanied but not unarmed of course, they’re stopped when a familiar face interrupts their path. “Hey, Fourth Grade. I thought you hated being out this late?”
The lanky boy looks around awkwardly. Y/n had stumbled across him on his way to the skate park. Ray had mentioned he’d slept there before when he got overwhelmed and just had to take a break from everything. That wasn’t out of necessity, and in Fourth Grade’s case definitely not out of embarrassment to ask anyone for help. “Uh, you know. I wanted to see what you’re always missing the mornings for.”
A smile graces y/n’s features. Small, but amused as it didn’t quite reach their eyes. Fourth Grade tints a slight shade of red. Almost everything they did seemed to fluster him. When they look at him he can’t meet their gaze. “Fourth Grade are you lying to me?” His breath catches in his throat. Of course they’d figure him out so easily.
Y/n spent the most time around Fourth Grade and vise versa. In their friend group everyone had their obvious ‘best friend’. They didn’t like their other friends any less, but that’s just who they clicked with the best. It used to be Ray and Fuckshit, but Ray seemed to take on a more big brother role for Stevie. Fuckshit and Ruben hang out more as a result. And for as long as anyone can remember it’s always been y/n and Fourth Grade.
They often mirrored each other as well even when they hung out with the whole group. Stevie, the most observant since he was the youngest and easily the most eager, had picked up on it before even Ray did. When y/n would lean on something usually Fourth Grade would follow suit. When Fourth Grade would try to look at them without being caught, he’d usually get caught because they were doing the same thing. Leaving both of them red in the face and avoiding eye contact.
“I- it’s nothing. I’m fine y/n/n. Just wanted some breathing room.”
“I know you Fourth Grade. Come on. We can talk about it at my place. It’s getting late, even for me so I’ll make some tea.” Fourth Grade looks hesitant to respond to the offer. Y/n smiles before holding out their hand. “At least walk me home? I won’t make you talk if you don’t want to.”
Swallowing his anxieties he grabs their hand and follows them back home. The walk was quiet. You could hear the crunch of the pavement under their shoes and the high pitched chirps of the crickets in the distance. He didn’t mind. Fourth Grade was busy trying to plan what he was going to say. He didn’t want y/n to pity him. He hated that.
The guys knew better, but y/n had been there for him the most. It was hard for them not to feel bad for him. He only notices when the warmth leaves his hand as they go to unlock the front door. “Uh it might be a little messy. Don’t worry. My mom’s working late again and left in a huge rush so, uh. Yeah,”
Y/n leads him inside and locks up behind him. The house was nice, a bit messy, but it looked full of warmth. Their house wasn’t huge, but it was only y/n and their mom. They had money, just didn’t feel the necessity to buy a big house just for the two of them. “Come on we can chill in the kitchen until you get sick of me.” Like he’d ever.
Fourth Grade sits down at the kitchen table while she puts on a pot of water to boil. When they sit down in front of him he tenses. “Are you gonna tell me why you really were out at 2 am?”
His hands get clammy as he wipes them on his jeans. He really hated lying, that and he wasn’t very good at it, but lying to y/n just made him feel worse. Like the guilt weighed down on his conscious tenfold. “I was going to the skate park.”
“Fourth Grade, you don’t have your board.” Right, god he was making a fool of himself.
“Oh. I must have forgotten it at home. Damn.”
They raise a brow. Y/n questions him again, “I mean it, please don’t lie to me Fourth Grade. I can’t help you if you lie to me.”
God he felt like the earth would eat him up at any moment now. Actually telling them would be like admitting defeat. Or worse. Admitting weakness.
“I was gonna crash there.” His words hang in the air for a while. A pregnant pause fills the space between them. His eyes drop down to his hands that grab his knees desperately hoping to ground himself.
Y/n’s chair screeches against the wooden floor as they pull it back to stand up. Fourth Grade looks up to see what they’re doing. They’re leaving? He really doesn’t wanna ask, but he so desperately wants to know. Shit. They probably thought he was a poor loser. He was. He was a dumb, poor, awkward skater kid with no real future besides working a dead end job like his parents. He was stupid. So fucking stupid.
A blanket and pillow hit him in the head. “Crash on the couch in my room. Or you could take the bed I take the couch I don’t care. Ma won’t care either she loves you. Just don’t lie to me next time.” Y/n goes back to start pouring the boiled water into mugs.
Fourth Grade looks at the blanket and pillow flabbergasted. Was that it? Was that really all he was worried about? “I know that look. And yes, I’m not making a big deal about it because it isn’t a big deal. You should’ve just asked me from the start. Why would you feel ashamed. We’ve known each other so long literally nothing you do phases me anymore. And no, I’m not doing this because I feel bad. I offer to help because I care and want the best for you.”
Y/n places the cup of steeping tea in front of him before sitting down. “Why?” They drop the bag of tea into their cup and raise a brow. “Why do you care y/n/n? What’s in it for you? I’m such a bad friend. I lie to you, I can’t do the things you do for me, and-”
“I care because if you could, you would. Give yourself more credit. You’re smarter than you think you are so use that brain of yours to think of reasons why I stick around.” They say not really showing much worry.
He was though. “I don’t know. Fuck if I knew I’d do whatever it was you liked more often. Hang out with you? Cause I definitely can’t buy you things y/n.” This was very out of character for him. Y/n could see that this was a long time coming.
“Fucking hell you’re dumber than I thought if you think I care about that. If I wanted someone who just bought me shit instead of caring about me I’d hang out with Fuckshit, but I don’t because he only cares about himself and fucking anything with a pulse. I hang out with you because you’re nice and polite and thoughtful. Even when you don’t have a lot to say you listen. That’s more than half the guys I’ve hung around have done.”
Fourth Grade sighs. “Fuck y/n you don’t get it. I want to be able to do those things for you. You should be around friends that can. You should have friends that you don’t have to feel bad for and let stay at your house because their place is basically temporary.”
Y/n rolls their eyes while stirring the honey into their tea. Fourth Grade clenches his jaw before turning to get up. “Don’t you dare leave,”
“I’m not gonna burden you y/n. I’ll figure it out, thank you for the tea.”
“No.”
He stops. “No?”
“I said no. I’m not letting the guy I like sleep on the streets because he’s too stubborn to just accept my help.”
“Y/n-” He pauses. What did they say? “Wait what?” Y/n doesn’t say anything, but he can see their cheeks flush.
“I’m going to bed. Goodnight Fourth Grade,” Y/n tries to make their way to their room when he grabs their wrist. Y/n stops.
“I’m sorry.”
“You have nothing to apologize for.”
“You know what I mean.”
They both stay still. Not a word nor a whisper broke the ever so fragile silence. Y/n looks up through their lashes at Fourth Grade. He couldn’t look away from them either. They were just frozen. “I made it awkward. Didn’t I?”
“Can you just let me calm down for a sec?”
“Huh?”
Y/n tilts their head up at Fourth Grade who looked as bright as a tomato. “I love you. Shit. Y/n listen I-” Their arms slip over his shoulders and y/n leans up to shush him. When they kiss all he can think about is not acting like an idiot. His eyes shut and he wraps his arms around their waist. The height difference was apparent, making him lean down to not break the kiss.
When they do break apart for air he smiles, his face contorted into a goofy grin. “I’m sorry. I-”
Y/n shushes him again. Their finger placed against his lips. “You’re cuter when you aren’t overthinking everything. Please stop apologizing and we can finish our tea and have a nice sleep after this very eventful night. I for one have had enough to make me sleep a good 12 hours.”
Fourth Grade looks down clumsily before rubbing his neck. “Yeah. Okay.”

Idjiots (sam x male reader)
Navigation / SPN masterlist
Warnings: Few cuss words? Sam and reader being idjiots, Alcohol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The store was a busy place, it was full of human people. People who had blood running through their veins without a care in the world. Humans who had a family to get home to take care of. Human, that's all you could smell. It filled rooms wherever you went.
After years or practice you could control yourself in a room full of people. However that doesn't stop the smell from circling you. You had being working on self control for years now. With the help of your father...well with whom you considered your father.
Grabbing some fruits and some more vegetables after getting the basic things someone would get at the store you paid with the money you had brought with you and started heading home.
Once you exited the store the smell of the world was now around you. No longer were the strong temptations around you. Carrying the five bags you had in your arms you passed through people on the sidewalk and crossed the streets.
When you arrived home you hadn't been paying attention to if anyone had been there since its usually just you and your dad. You cant tell just anyone that Bobby Singer is your dad given his history and your own. Opening the door you start talking as you head straight to the kitchen. "so they didn't have everything that you needed on your list but i got other things that should work instead"
The three men who were sitting with Bobby all looked over at you before the oldest spoke up. "who the hell are you?" Turning around as you place down your bags onto the counter you look over at him. "I'm y/n and who the hell are you?"
" Im dean" after hearing his name you were finally able to put a face to the name. Bobby had told you stories about them and how they wouldn't take to kindly to you if they found out your a vampire. So he had said if you ever met them that you would have to get them to like you first before telling them.
Reaching for your items you begin putting them away as you speak. "well I pictured you to be very different. From all the stories I was told" Bobby knew what you were doing. He had told you about how Dean had a big Ego.
"Am i not living up to the idea you had of me?" he asked as you finished putting everything away and walked into the room with them. You looked at him and looked at Sam momentarily "I pictured you more attractive...and taller but I guess I was thinking of the wrong brother"
Sam looked up at you while Dean Smirked a little bit. "Well not all of us can have good taste" Which ended up with dean getting punched in the shoulder by Sam. "what did you say your name was again?"
"His name is y/n and he is my son..i guess you could say" Bobby answered "its a long story" Sam looked at him and shrugged "We've got time"
As you sat down Bobby began to tell them the story of how you two met and everything. Leaving out the part of you being a vampire. He always told you that if you ever wanted someone to know, you should tell them. Not him.
Once the story is finished you all talk for a while about their current hunt and some other things. And before you know it, its late and everyone is getting tired. "you guys can stay a few nights. So you don't have to worry about a hotel or anything while you hunt"
-----
Early in the morning you were sitting at your desk drawing. However the sounds of snoring were filling your ears since you could hear everything with your vampire abilities.
The sun had started to rise which caused you to finally look at the clock seeing its 7:00. You sigh and get up from your seat heading downstairs to see Sam passed out on the couch looking extremely uncomfortable. He got the choice of the couch since Dean and him played rock paper scissors and lost.
Feeling sorry for him you walked over and knelt down beside him and run your hand up and down his arm lightly. "Sam, wake up." Soon enough his eyes open and he looks at you "sorry you just looked very uncomfortable." taking your hand off him you stand up. "I'm going to make breakfast for everyone. Why don't you just go take my room in the meantime"
He slowly wakes up and sits up on the couch running his hand through his hair. "no no I need to get up. I'm usually up by now." Laughing a little as you walk to the kitchen "Must have had a long night then. You and Dean did drink a bit last night"
You were met with silence as you got out some eggs, bread, bacon and potatoes. Thinking that Sam went to your room to lay down you started to play some music, making sure to keep it at a low volume.
When you started to cook you hear footsteps behind you and its Sam beginning to scramble the eggs. He must have felt your eyes on him cause he smiled a little "I wanted to help. You made us dinner last night its the least I can do" You smiled softly as you continued to cook "thank you Sam"
---
As you guys cook you hum along to the music that plays. Sam remains quiet, just listening to the food cook and your humming. However when Paramore comes on you begin go sing a little louder. Still remaining at a quiet tone since everyone is still asleep.
"I should be over all the butterflies, but I'm into you. I'm into you" You sing as you plate food for you and Sam.
"And baby even on our worst nights I'm into you, Let them wonder how we got so far" Sam joins in causing you to look at him and continue.
Let them wonder how we got this far, cause I don't even need to wonder at all" you sing and then you both sing the next line simultaneously. "after all this time I'm still into you"
You both continue to sing as you finish the food. Only stopping when you hear deans voice "okay you two love birds. I smelled food, didnt know a concert was available too" Turning around you see Dean grabbing a plate while your dad looks at you shaking his head chuckling to himself.
-----
The week goes by pretty fast. Too fast for your liking. You and Sam had gotten extremely close over the week along with everyone else. Your dad seemed happier when they were home, it was obvious to you but not to everyone else.
You were always super observant over peoples attitudes and feelings. However what you weren't observant of was Sam's feelings for you.
Since day one you had found Sam attractive, the fact that he was tall also didn't help at all. You and Sam watched movies together in your room at night when everyone was asleep. Made breakfast for everyone since the day you guys got caught singing.
Sam also couldn't help but start to like you too. First impressions are everything to him and you gave him a hell of an impression. When you joked with Dean the first time you guys met. Then how you were so caring towards everyone you cared for and yes that included him and Dean.
You two were oblivious even though you both flirted with each other all the time. However who wasn't oblivious to all of this was Dean and Bobby. They planned on doing something about it because they were tired of seeing the back and forth shit.
----
On the last day they were going to be there it was a sunny day after raining for days. You felt yourself grow sad and slightly moody the longer the day went on. Sam and Dean were out catching the monster/s while you had stayed behind since they didn't need extra help.
Your dad is sitting on the couch drinking a beer when you sigh and grab a water bottle before walking into the living room. Bobby was reading his journal when you grab his beer and replace it with a water. "hey what the hell?" he says as you roll your eyes "Your liver has to be shit by now. With how often you drink."
He sit on the couch looking over at you now glaring at you. "listen just because you are upset over dean and your precious Sam are leaving today doesn't mean you get to take my beer!"
His tone wasn't actually upset he was just trying to get a reaction out of you and you knew that. So now you glare at him "just drink the damn water Bobby. Please" you say and he sighs before taking a drink of his water and continuing his reading.
A few hours go by and you had been keeping yourself busy not wanting to stop moving because you know if you did then you would think about how Sam is going to leave for who knows how long.
You were currently cleaning the kitchen making it spotless when the door opens the guys come back. When they come in they see Bobby drinking water causing dean to speak "I didn't know you knew what water was Bobby"
Bobby looks over and shrugs "y/n over there is in one of his moods. He hasn't stopped moving since you guys left" Dean knew why that was but Sam was to busy walking over to you and grabbed your arms lightly stopping you from cleaning the counters which were already clean "y/n slow down. There is nothing to clean"
Stopping your movements you look over at Sam and place down the rag onto the counter and let out a breath you hadn't known you were holding. "I'm sorry" you say as Sam pulls you close to him and he rests his head on top of yours. "its okay. No one is mad." he pulls away and gives you a small smile before Dean places his hand on Sam's shoulder "okay Sammy lets go grab our things and put them in the car"
Sam goes to the extra room and gets everything. While you go to the living room waiting to tell the both of them goodbye. Bobby ends up walking over to you "Tell the guy how you feel son." you shake your head "no there is no point. We never know how long they will be gone for. Or if they will even come back and we both know you wont let me go with them because of my...condition"
Bobby is silent especially when the both of them come down with their bags. He does go help Dean carry the stuff leaving Sam and you by the door.
Looking up at Sam you nod "well looks like its goodbye for now huh?" Sam nods and looks down at you "You know ill be back. Cant stay away from Bobby for long. ya know?" His words cause you to chuckle "oh yes sure. Bobby is always such a joy to be around"
Sam looks around and notices Dean give him a look encouraging him to do something. So he takes places his hand on your shoulder "look I will call you every day. Hell id invite you to come along but Bobby would probably have some words to say about that one. But i dont want to leave till I do something"
"do what" you ask as he brings his hands to the sides of your face pulling you into a kiss. He leans down quiet a bit as you wrap your arms around his waist.
When the both of you pull away you're both smiling like kids at a candy factory. You place your hand on his chest "I might just have to sneak away and come join you guys on your adventure"
Sam laughs and you both look over at Bobby when he whistles for everyone's attention. He holds out a bag and its the same one you had in your room. "well what are you waiting for Idjiots. Better leave before I change my mind"
Sam who was holding onto your hand walks with you to your dad and you hug him. He pats your head "be safe alright."
"yes ill be safe and blah blah blah. As long as you promise me one thing?" he looks at you with a questionable look "alright what do I have to promise to"
"drink more water, try to be a bit more healthy. Trust me i will know if you don't" he rolls his eyes "alright. Now you boys better get going"
The three of you nod and say quick goodbye and you say a quiet "i love you" to your dad before getting into the car in the backseat as the two boys sit in the front and start driving off.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Summers made working from home the most difficult. Wanda could hardly concentrate on her work before one of her boys started complaining about being hungry or getting bored or asking to go to a friend's house, etc. She sometimes wishes that she could have sent them to a camp but Vision was against it because he wanted them at his house during his weeks since he had the time off as well. She knows that she would have missed them terribly as well which is why she was okay with dropping the subject then. But now that she was dangerously close to her deadline without even being close to a finished product, she thought she might go insane on her boys.
That's when she calls her mom in for back up. Then instantly regrets it as soon as she sees the hole in the house. “Honey! What happened here?”
“My marriage fell apart,” Wanda says simply as she rushes to her office. “Pietro is going to fix it, don't worry!” She shouts from the stairs so she can get to work before her mom can catch her in a lecture. The woman shakes her head and makes her way to the kitchen to start lunch for the boys and her daughter. She comes over consistently for the rest of the week to help with house chores, breakfast and lunch, and entertain her grandsons.
Wanda is grateful for her mother's assistance and is able to get a decent design for pitch at the end of the month and start a few backup ideas. She likes to over prepare. She was even able to complete a budget report and the booklets for the investors by the start of the weekend. Wanda feels bad that she had to prioritize work over her kids but her mother reminds her that she was doing this work for them. That she needs to provide for them. Besides, Wanda was still cooking dinners with Tommy and Billy as well as watching movies every night before bed. Though, it was getting a little tense between the two boys with different interests.
On Saturday morning, Pietro arrives with his sleepy daughter and Wanda tries to hold in her laughter as she helps the little girl to her bedroom so she can rest. “You’re here early,” Wanda says as she returns downstairs.
“Mom called me last night. Told me that I should have started the minute I found out. Thank you for that by the way,” Pietro says as he drops some material on the ground. He had pushed some furniture around while she was helping his daughter. “Unfortunately for Luna, she still wanted to come with me. I told her last night we’d be here at six am sharp. She said she was fine with it until I actually had to wake her up. But,” he shakes his head in amusement, “she still wanted to come here.”
Wanda crosses her arms and leans against the wall. “She loves her cousins,” she yawns.
“That she does,” Pietro stares at his tools. “Can I tell you something that you can't tell anyone?” Wanda confirms that her brother can confide in her. “Crystalia and I are considering trying for another. She could use a sibling, you know?”
“Oh, Pietro, that's wonderful news!” Wanda congratulates her brother.
“Thank you, but please, don't tell mom. She'll call about positions and give other advice that I do not need to hear again,” he says recalling the conversation he overheard his mom and sister having a few years ago. Wanda cringes at the memory herself.
“I’ll spare you, don't worry,” she says. “I’m going to start some coffee, do you want any?”
“Yes please,” he rolls out the plans Wanda had sent to him.
You are knocking on Jean's door as you check the time again to make sure that you aren't running late. Your friend asked you to be at the location by noon and he sent you the address this morning. From what you saw from the images online, the place looked nice enough. You wondered why it needed altering at all but remember that he said there was an accident that led to this alteration.
The door opens and it's Anna, Jean's wife. “She’s almost ready, you're welcome to wait in the living room,” she says kindly.
“Thank you,” you step inside. It never gets easier walking into this house even though it's been years since you've lived here. It was a gift from both your family and Jean's when the two of you got married. Because the two of you were so young, neither of you cared about a wedding. In fact, the two of you were engaged for less than a week when you drove off to a cheap chapel and eloped. Both of your families were upset because they wanted to be part of the wedding process but were still happy the two of you decided to tie the knot. And since there was some money being saved for future weddings and college funds, that at the time weren't going to be used, they pooled together that money and surprised you and Jean with this house.
It was a fixer upper for sure and you worked on it every weekend until you were twenty-two. When you and Jean got divorced. You paid for every repair and upgrade with the tips you got bartending and any extra scraps from the job sites that your foreman approved for you to take. You still did repairs for the house here and there whenever they needed it and couldn't afford to hire someone. But, it was no longer your house and with how much time and money you put into the place, it was the hardest part of the marriage to let go of.
You bounce your leg anxiously as you wait for your daughter to come out of her room. “Can I get you anything?” Anna asks before she enters the kitchen. “You seem a little anxious.”
“No, thank you,” you politely decline. “I’m doing a favor for my boss and I just want to do a good job and make a good impression,” you admit. “Plus, his sister is apparently some great architect and she could be a great connection but you know how I get around new people.”
Anna nods, ignoring your words and listening to your body instead. “I’m making you some tea. It can help soothe your nerves so that you're not this loud jumbled energy. Your whole aura is a mess and it won't help you make a good impression.” She disappears in the kitchen before you can decline the beverage again.
“Hey, babe! Who was at the- oh! It was you,” Jean says as she enters the living room space. “She’s almost ready,” she remarks about your daughter. “She’s a little nervous about all of the new friends she's going to make. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about it but these kids are going to be nice to her right?”
“Yeah, yeah, well,” you pause. “I hope so. But they're not all new to her. She's met Luna a few times and they get along great.  He said her cousins are sweet boys, closer to Rachel’s age. Besides, they'll have parental supervision and I'll be nearby the whole time.” You assure the mother of your child.
“Okay,” she takes a relaxing breath as she joins you on the sofa. “That makes me feel better. Where's Anna?”
“Making me a tea,” you say and lean in close. “Apparently my aura is a mess,” you say in a manner that lets Jean know that you find her wife's assessment of you ridiculous. Jean laughs at your silliness.
“You’re a jerk, she's only trying to help,” Jean defends.
You lean back with your hands up in surrender, “I never said I wasn't grateful. I am going to chug that tea, I promise. Scouts honor.”
Jean rolls her eyes, “You were never a scout.”
“That’s because I was corrupted by your bad influence,” you retort playfully.
“Oh whatever, if I remember correctly, you were the one pulling all of the crazy stunts. I never did anything. I was an innocent bystander,” Jean points out.
You laugh at the flood of childhood memories that you and Jean share. She wasn't wrong, you were constantly getting into trouble as kids. Only because you were trying to impress her and maintain her attention. No matter what the cost was. It was amazing that the two of you were still alive today. “Okay, that's fair,” you say as Anna returns with a thermos for you. “Oh cool, thank you. I'll bring this back to y'all next weekend.”
“No problem,” she sits next to Jean and throws her arm around the woman. Jean falls comfortably against her wife and the two share a sweet smile with each other. You look away from them as you feel longing for a relationship again. Not with Jean, of course. The two of you didn't have what she had found with Anna. But you want that with someone. To have the close connection these two have. It was difficult dating as a single parent at twenty-seven. Not everyone was understanding that Jean and you are better off friends and maintain a healthy relationship. Many situationships fail because your best stories involve your best friend, who happens to be your ex-wife. Another relationship killer is surprisingly that your daughter is always going to be your number one priority. Always.
Luckily, your daughter comes into the room and hops on your lap as she happily greets you. Clearing your mind of any thought of loneliness. “Hey, pumpkin! Are you ready to go?”
“Hmm,” she looks at you nervously and then to her mom's. They are worried about her as much as you are. She doesn’t have many friends due to her social awkwardness. You jokingly claim she inherited it from her mother but you both know it was from you. “Is Luna really there?” she asks. You shift around to grab your phone and pull up your conversation with Pietro and find the picture he sent of Luna with her cousins and show it to her. “Oh! I know those boys! They go to my school,” she says excitedly which lets you know that is a good thing. “They were in my class last year!” She hops off of you and straightens her outfit out,“Okay, I'm ready.” Jean, Anna, and you laugh as her tone has changed so fast.
“Alright, I’ll see the two of you next Saturday,” you say as you get up and follow your daughter. The two of you jam out to whatever pop artist that has her interest at the moment. You couldn’t keep up with her and the stuff she likes. Songs were simple enough to catch on with the lyrics and it amuses her when you get them very very wrong.
When you arrive at the house, you see that Pietro has made a lot of progress on his own and torn up most of the wall from the outside. As you park, you receive a text from Wanda asking if the two of you were still on to buy her a drink later on. Another one saying that she is looking forward to it. You regretfully message that a work thing came up and that you will have to let her know. Then, you knock on the door and are surprised to see Wanda is the one answering.
She looks at you as confused as you are. Her expression quickly drops to one that she hopes is threatening. “What are you doing here? How do you know where I live?” Wanda starts out defensively. Whispering in a sharp tone so she doesn't alarm her kids or her brother. You gulp as you try to find the right words to explain that you're not some crazy stalker.
But Rachel speaks before you can get a word out. “Can I go play with Luna?” She asks Wanda sweetly.
This throws the woman off as she looks down and notices your daughter. She freezes as she connects the dots. “Um, of course, sweetheart. Go on in, she's upstairs with her cousins.” The little girl runs inside and disappears up the stairs. “You’re the person my brother asked to help with the hole?” Wanda asks, still not letting you inside.
“I really had no idea the two of you were related.” You say as you hold up your tool box. “But, uh, yeah. You're the work thing that might prevent me from buying you a drink later,” you try to lighten the mood.
Wanda isn't sure if she wanted you in her house. You know nothing about her and she liked it that way. She knew that eventually she would have to open up to you if the two of you kept up with the meetings. But not like this. Not with you repairing the damage she did to her home. But when Pietro comes to the door she has no choice but to let you in. “Hey, Y/n, I'm glad you could make it. This is my little sister, Wanda,” he introduces. You stand there watching Wanda. Waiting to see if she wanted the two of you to be strangers. Or if you were allowed to reveal your acquaintance. But she remains quiet. Taking her cue, you offer your hand in greeting. “Wands, this is the person I told you about. They do fantastic work. If dad were still alive, he'd have us competing to take over the company,” he boasts.
You laugh, “You speak too highly of me, P. It's great to meet you, Wanda.”
“Thank you for coming to help my incompetent twin brother,” she emphasizes to let you know that she isn't younger than her brother as he claimed. “I truly appreciate it.”
“Ouch,” Pietro holds his chest, “I’m doing a nice thing for you and this is how you treat me?” He shakes his head. “Come on in,” he waves you into the house. You follow him in and Wanda walks away, announcing that she's starting lunch. You keep your eyes in her direction a little longer than you should have and Pietro notices. He snaps his fingers in your face and you look at him. “Don’t think about it,” he says sternly.
You hold a hand up in surrender, “I wasn't. She just,” you can’t continue because he doesn’t believe you. “Nevermind, are you ready to get to work?” You ask as you set your toolbox down and remove your jacket.
Wanda checks on you and her brother every few minutes. Seeing the two of you sharing a laugh while you work. The ease at which you remove pieces of the house. She didn’t like that she couldn’t keep her eyes off of you, but deduced it to her not trusting the stranger in her house. An hour later, she’s offering everyone lunch. The kids come running down and Pietro tries to get you to take a break. But you aren’t certain you’re allowed to.
“Are you hungry?” She asks as she steps over the line of tape Pietro made for the kids.
“I’ll be fine,” you assure as you pull off another piece of the wall from the inside. “Hey,” you stop her from walking away. “Are you going to block my number?” you set the piece on the pile.
“Why would I do that?” She asks with her arms crossing over her chest.
“I’m not sure if accidentally finding out,” you make a noise as you pull another piece out, “where you live is considered a creepy offense.” You grin at her as you look at her over your shoulder.
Wanda smiles a little, “No, I'm not going to block you. Only as a thank you though,” she steps around and looks back when she hears the kids laughing to see Pietro being silly. She turns back to you, “For the free labor, of course.”
“Oh, I see how it is,” you grab the water bottle you had nearby. “Maybe you're the one who tracked me down,” you jokingly accuse. “Heard your brother rave about my work so you found me at a liquor store and charmed me so that I wouldn't charge you.”
Wanda rolls her eyes, “Don’t flatter yourself.” Then she scoffs as she remembers the two of you meeting. She certainly wasn't dressed to charm anyone.
The two of you stand there for a moment, neither certain if that's the end of the conversation. She wants to walk away to go eat but she wants to be certain that you're fine with going on without a meal. You are trying to decide whether or not it's too late to accept her offer and aren't sure if she's going to ask again or leave you to continue working. When she doesn't move you pull your gloves off as you step closer. “What’s for lunch?”
“Food that I made,” she says vaguely but still playful.
“Am I still allowed to find out?” You shove the gloves in your back pocket.
“I suppose I can't let you starve,” she replies. “But you didn't seem like you wanted any before.”
You shrug, “I didn't want to appear rude.”
Wanda nods once and drops her arms, “Some people might say it’s rude to decline a meal.”
“I wasn’t raised that way,” you say, “But I do know people that have, so that’s a fair point.”
She smiles at the floor as you stand a few inches from her now. “You are welcome to take a break and eat. Consider it another part of my payment.” She looks back up at you then quickly turns away. You follow her to the table where everyone else is eating. You pass them to wash your hands in the kitchen sink. There is more laughter and you turn to see your daughter, who you think is hilarious but is normally very shy around people she isn’t comfortable with, causing the laughter. Wanda notices a bit of food on Rachel’s chin and she instinctively wipes it with a napkin. You dry your hands and join the table.
You sit in the empty seat next to your daughter and serve yourself a plate. You get to know Tommy and Billy as the group of you enjoy the lunch together and you feel better about letting Rachel hang out with them. Pietro was being truthful when he said that they are sweet boys. Once the kids finish up, they are racing up the stairs to resume their activities, leaving the adults to the table. “Thank you guys for helping me out. I truly appreciate it,” Wanda says as she sips her drink from her cup.
“Thank us when the work is done, alright?” Pietro says as finishes his plate. You agree as you finish your food as well.
“We should get back to it. Thank you, the meal was delicious,” excuse yourself from the table, grabbing as many plates as you can carry to the sink. Wanda tries to intercept but ultimately grabs what you can’t carry and follows you to the sink.
“You really didn’t have to, I could’ve taken care of it,” she says as she moves the plates. “But thank you, again.”
You smile at her, “It’s really no big deal, Wanda.” You walk away to continue to work with her brother.
As it gets close to dinner time, Pietro receives a call from his wife and he has to call it a day. He quickly packs his things, pulls Luna away from a serious Mario Kart competition, and bids everyone a goodnight. “I’ll see you guys in the morning before you’re off to your dad’s,” he says as he hugs his nephews goodbye. “Thank you for helping me with this,” he says to you. The two of you slap your hands together and pull into a short hug.
“No problem, man. You know I’m always willing to help,” you reply. “Besides, I owe you.”
Pietro nods once in acknowledgement and then moves on to his sister. “Do I need to rent a wood chipper? For tomorrow? Send the bastard a good message.”
Wanda laughs, “No, he’ll just sue you for property damages. You don’t need to be dealing with that on top of everything else. He’s not worth it.”
“But you are,” he says and hugs her. “Give your aunt and cousins hugs,” he tells his daughter. She does as he says sadly because she doesn’t want to go yet. Pietro promises the crying girl that they’ll be back the next morning but she is still reluctant to go. Unfortunately, he has to carry the girl crying all the way to his truck. The boys run off with Rachel to try and finish the match before it’s time for her to go too.
You laugh as you watch them disappear. “I guess that’s my cue as well,” you say as you start to pack up your things. There’s an awkwardness to your movements as you aren’t sure if the previous plans for the two of you were still on or not. But you aren’t sure how to ask. “I’ll uh, see you tomorrow?”
Wanda nods slowly as she watches you. “I wanted to keep our plans but, I’m sure you’re exhausted and well, keeping those kids entertained was pretty draining.”
“Oh, yeah, no,” you wave your hands around as you play off the disappointment. “I get it. Another time then?” You toss your jacket over your shoulder.
“Yeah,” Wanda nods, “I don’t have Tommy and Billy this week. Maybe we can figure out a time to meet up. And it doesn't have to be at the store.”
“Um,” you look to the floor then look back up, “Rach and I have a camping trip planned this week. We're leaving Monday morning. We'll be back on Friday, though. So maybe Friday night?” Wanda begins to worry about what the meet up might be interpreted as. She isn't sure why now she was having this anxiety. She said that she was looking forward to the store. She suggested that they meet somewhere else. Almost as if you can read her mind, you include. “It’d be nice to have a friend that isn't my ex-wife or my boss.”
“Aren’t I technically your boss until this is done?” Wanda asks with a playful tone.
“You’re not paying me,” you retort.
“I am, in food,” she reminds you.
You click your teeth, “You’ve got me there.” You walk to the bottom of the stairs and call out for your daughter to let her know it's time to go. “So, Friday?”
“Will you be offended if I bring someone?” Wanda asks as she thinks about how she can solidify that it's just friends hanging out. Nothing more.
You laugh, “No, I won't be offended. The more, the merrier.” Rachel comes running down the stairs. “Ready, pumpkin?” You ask as she stops beside you.
“Yeah, I almost beat Tommy, but he got me,” she frowns. “I will get him tomorrow though. I'm going to kick his butt!” she says with determination. Then she looks at Wanda and freezes, not noticing her there before.
Wanda smiles at the young girl and leans forward, “Can you keep a secret?” Rachel nods, her eyes still wide. “I hope you win,” she straightens up and follows you and Rachel to the front door. “I'll see you tomorrow,” she says to you as she leans against the front door.
“I will see you tomorrow, Wanda,” you bid her a goodnight and climb into your car.
“I think Tommy and Billy will be great brothers,” Rachel says as she gets her playlist ready.
“What are you going on about over there?” You say with a laugh.
Rachel shrugs as she finds a love song, “It's okay, you’ll catch up eventually.” You laugh at her randomness.
Wanda calls the boys down so they can start dinner and she smiles every time she thinks of your name.
Broken souls (Ferran x Reader)
Tumblr media
Warnings: angsty with happy ending, mentions of Ferran's insecurities and mental health, mentions of the internet being assholes, Sira mention (not in a truly bad way as the girl is amazing)
Masterlist
You know Ferran adores Barça and loves playing in it, it's where his best friends play and 9ne the best club's out there, but sometimes you can't help but wonder if things would be better had he stayed in Manchester City.
Words can bring down even the happiest of people, that person who everyone knows to be the nicest, the funniest, being broken by people on the Internet feeling the need to comment on all his flaws and creating insecurities.
It's terrible for anyone, brings them down, worsens their mental health and makes them sometimes not be themselves.
Your boyfriend, you know is broken, as months pass by he becomes even more of a shell of his true self, he might pretend everything is alright out there, but you know it isn't.
He overworks himself, training hours not enough for him, locking himself in the gym or using the goalie on your backyard to practice until late night hours, then waking up even before the sun rises.
You know he is exhausted, but he refuses to stop, you are worried about what will happen to him, you have told him so multiple times, and the screaming match you both are having right now is a repetition, already happened.
"I just told you to please come to bed, I don't think there is nothing wrong with it!" you shout at him, trying to get your words through that thick head of his, he shakes his head, a smile that is not truthful, almost cruel.
"You don't fucking understand, don't you? How can I go to bed when I fucking suck! Its almost as if you have fun seeing how terrible I am!"
"How can you say that? You know I am your biggest supporter! I just think you should also keep in mind to take care of yourself!"
He gives a dry laugh, face to face with you as he glares down at you, you are not afraid though, you know he would never hurt you -at least not with his hands that he furiously moves around and points at you.
"Really? Because I think you enjoy it, having all culers hating on me, maybe you like that I have no one by my side to have me all for yourself! Always so fucking clingy" he sighs "Sira understood..."
You both tense, his eyes snap into yours, apologetic, trying to reach out for you.
"Love, I'm-"
"Fuck you, Ferran. If Sira was so much better then she can take care of you so you don't fucking die from exhaustion" you are in tears "I fucking care for you and you just treat me as if I was a parasite, someone you don't actually love, maybe you didn't want a girlfriend -at least not me as its obvious you did want Sira, you wanted someone to keep your house clean and all that shit so meanwhile you repay me like this"
You walk away from his, you don't let him grab you a she wants, picking up your purse and intentionally leaving the house keys behind. You stop, see the promise ring on your finger, and go to take it off, his hands stop you.
"Please, amor, don't do that I promise I will try to do better, ok? You are right, I am sorry for treating you like shit, I promise I will listen to what you say"
You laugh "Only when you are about to lose me do you react, how can I believe your words for a second if maybe this conversation will repeat itself in a week"
"It won't, ok? I swear, y/n, I will do my best so there is no repetition on this, I want you, I love you, I won't be able to do this without you. I know I am an asshole, bit the one good thing I have is you and I will make sure to always remind it"
You think it over for a second, dropping your purse you let his arms wrap around you, taking a moment in them, you then go on to whisper.
"You are still sleeping on the couch after that Sira comment"
"Totally worth it if you stay"
The Safehouse (Bucky x Reader)
You have to stay over in a remote cabin for a mission…but there’s only one bed MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
T/W: mentioning of nightmares/trauma (mostly thanos and winter soldier stuff), talk of guns, talk of shooting, reader is a widow–mention of red room trauma
-- “Pretty sure this is the place Fury talked about, this is the only house I’ve seen in miles.” (Y/n) sighed as the door to the cabin opened without a problem. Why would it need to even be locked if there wasn’t any sign of well, anyone, for miles.
This cabin was just a hidden spot for hopefully a one night stay. Fury suggested it, as both his agents needed to be active in the area, for when the coming threat–Hydra–passed through. Their sources said it should be passing by sometime tomorrow afternoon, the latest being a 72 hour stay.
“We could be camping, and that would be even worse. Heard it can get cold around here at night, and that’s not even counting wind chill.” Bucky said, setting his bag down on the small kitchen table. “Looks like we have no electricity, but there is a wood stove and running water.” He sighed, noticing the abundance of both matches and candles.
(Y/n) went over to the cabinets, sure enough there was a healthy stockpile of canned food and other dried goods they could get by on. Nothing compared to eating the foods that New York had to offer, but this would suffice for the time being. “Did you check upstairs? Someone said the closet will have a fake back and that’s where extra weapons are.”
Bucky nodded, going up the stairs where the bedroom was. He had to do a double take. The stairs lead right to one bedroom; not two, one. Even worse, there was one queen bed sitting in the middle of said bedroom, in a cabin where the only other option to lay was the floor. “Hey uh, (Y/n)? Can you come here?”
She quickly ran up the stairs, gun in hand, clearly worried by the tone of his voice. “What is it?” She asked him, looking around the room before her eyes fell right on what clearly worried him, and now her.
One fucking bed.
“I’ll just lay on the floor downstairs or something. It’s not a big deal.” Bucky told her, shrugging as if it was nothing. Shrugging like his back wasn’t sore enough as it was, sleeping on the floor of his apartment back home. One more night of painful floor sleeping wouldn’t kill him, maybe mess up his spine beyond repair, but not kill him.
“It’s okay, I can sleep on the floor. Or, we can sleep in shifts or something?” She suggested, brushing past him to check on the closet, sure enough, a fake back door that concealed a weapon stash. “Or–a crazy idea really–we just tough it out and share the bed?” (Y/n) asked him, feeling the heat rise up on the back of her neck, feeling the seconds tick by as she waited for his answer.
Bucky tried his best to not blush, looking down at his feet before he answered her. “I’m not saying that we can’t, but I sometimes get these nightmares, and I wake up a lot. I don’t want to put you through that.” He told her, knowing it was embarrassing enough to have to confess that he had them, and even more embarrassing to even have them in the first place.
She nodded, tongue in cheek as she tried to not make a fool of herself. “If it makes you feel better, that happens to me a lot of the nights too.” She told him, feeling the silence hang thick in the air before she coughed and looked at her watch. “Well, it’s getting late, and we’ve been walking here all day, and I think we should just try and get some sleep.”
He said nothing as he shrugged off his jacket, tossing it somewhere on the ground as he laid on top of the bed; still dressed in his t-shirt, jeans, and boots while he laid there. “Okay, goodnight.”
“Bucky, I might not be the smartest person in the world, but I think you should get comfortable before you try to sleep.” She smiled at him, grabbing her backpack off the floor and bringing it with her into the bathroom.
Of course, she was right and he was just being ridiculous. There was nothing embarrassing about this. Two agents needed to both get some sleep, in order to do their job they were assigned to do, and it just so happened they needed to both sleep in the same bed. And it just so happened that Bucky already had to be working the case with his crush, and now he had to spend the whole night sharing the bed with said crush.
As soon as he heard the door to the bathroom open, he quickly kicked off his boots and jeans, his shirt discarded with it as he hastily climbed under the covers. (Y/n) came out of the bathroom, wearing a t-shirt and sleep shorts, giving him a shy smile. “See, now that’s better. You at least look like you’re more comfortable.” She said, moving to the other side of the bed and sliding under the covers.
“If you need me to leave, at any part of the night, let me know and it’s not a problem.” Bucky told her as they both lay in the dark, both flat on their backs staring at the ceiling to not look at each other.
There was a long pause; silence was getting a little more comfortable for the both of them. “My nightmares are about the Red Room. They took me from my parents because apparently I had amazing genes. They turned me into a killer, and that’s something I have nightmares about. Knowing what I did, while just being a pawn for people in charge of me.”
He reached down under the covers, holding her hand with his. He had made sure to get the left side of the bed, that way his arm wouldn’t be near her. “I get them about, well shit, everything. Mostly the Winter Soldier stuff, but sometimes I’ll get a really nice dream about my mother and while it’s a good thing, it’s also a nightmare sometimes.”
“I’m glad we can be honest with each other, you know? I mean, we both kind of went through the same shit if you look at it.” She said softly, Bucky looking at her and noticing a silent tear running down her cheek.
“We’re both okay now.” He told her, turning in the bed to face her. “Something my therapist said, was accepting what’s happened, but knowing you’re moving forward from it, is how you kind of feel better about it. That and when you’re brainwashed, you really can’t help it.”
(Y/n) smiled slightly, turning over so she could face him. “I thought you said she was a shit therapist and you fired her?”
Bucky chuckled, nodding. “Yeah, she and I didn’t really get along. Can’t say she didn’t give me one little bit of good advice though.”
“We should try to get some sleep.” She said softly, giving him one last smile before she turned over, still holding his hand as she laid flat on her back.
Bucky sat up with a large gasp, leaning forward on his knees while he tried to catch his breath. Nightmare about one of the many Winter Soldier victims, as usual.
“Bucky what is it? What’s wrong?” (Y/n) asked as she sat up, instantly checking him over to make sure he was alright. “Breathe, you’re okay.” She told him, reaching over and gently rubbing his back.
He nodded, feeling both embarrassed and ashamed she saw him like this. “I’m okay, just a nightmare. Go back to bed, I’ll try to sleep on the floor downstairs.” He tried to leave the bed, only to get stopped by her hand reaching out and grabbing his arm to stop him.
“I don’t like to be alone.” She mumbled to him, shaking her head when she realized how crazy it sounded. “Please, just stay.” She said, her voice breaking.
Bucky felt his cheeks glow red, and was thankful that it was dark inside of the room. Everything was lit by the moon, leaving the room in an almost blue hue. “Of course.” He said softly while he slowly slid back under the covers.
(Y/n) didn’t say anything as she moved closer to him, gently resting one hand on his cheek while the other was on his shoulder. “I just didn’t want to be alone, and I know you don’t want to be alone either.”
“I don’t want to keep you awake if I have a nightmare again.” He muttered, the last excuse he was capable of making. He would give anything to be able to just stay in the bed, laying this close to (Y/n).
“You can wake me up as many times as you need to.” She smiled, leaning forward and pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead before snuggling down into his chest. “Try to get some rest, we need to be on the lookout tomorrow.”
They both laid next to each other, both not able to sleep. Both didn’t dare look at the time, but the wind was starting to shake the cabin. “It’s a good thing we don’t have any power, I think we would have lost it.” Bucky mumbled in the dark, watching the fire in the fireplace start to burn out.
“It’s freezing in here.” (Y/n) sighed, starting to shiver right after the lack of heat. “Do we have any more firewood or something?” She asked, pulling the covers as high up as they could go.
“I don’t think we had any left. We might just have to tough it out.” He told her, his heart feeling like it was going to burst out of his chest. “Don’t stab me or anything, but come closer to me, I’m always warm.” He told her, feeling his face light up the second she inched closer to her.
(Y/n) moved closer, hesitantly leaning onto his bare chest. “Holy shit you are warm.” Instantly, all the fear and shyness disappeared and she comfortably leaned into him. “I wish you told me sooner.”
Using his non-metal hand, he gently held her hands in his. “Your hands are freezing, you should have said something.” He shot back, feeling her hands start to warm in his hands. “What were you going to do if I never said anything?”
“Probably freeze, maybe die, who knows.” She sighed contentedly as she snuggled up closer to him. “Thank you by the way. This has truly been one of the most interesting missions I think I've been on.”
“You’re telling me. I think I should tell you, I wouldn’t do this for just anyone.” He told her while he pulled her closer to himself. “I really like you (Y/n), and I hope this isn’t weird, but if you never want to speak to me ever again, I will understand and we don’t have to speak of this again.”
(Y/n) looked up at him, taking her hand to gently pull his face down towards hers. Saying nothing, but pulling him in for a kiss. She climbed on top of him, feeling his right hand drop down to her waist to help her balance. “You’re an idiot, if you never noticed how much I like you. Why do you think we always work together? I ask to work with you all the time.”
Bucky looked at her, a goofy grin on his face. “I thought I was just lucky or something. I never thought anyone would feel that way about me, especially after everything I've done.”
“You matter. The things you’ve done, they’ve happened and we move forwards. Let’s get some sleep, we have to be alert for tomorrow.” (Y/n) smiled, giving him one last kiss before she laid down on his chest to fall asleep, both his arms wrapping around her.
“I just got the call from Fury, Hydra changed its path and are no longer coming your way. We have new instructions to pack up and leave whenever we have the chance.” (Y/n) said, tossing her phone down on the bed with a sigh.
“So this mission was kind of for nothing?” Bucky asked, placing his guns back inside the case he got them from.
“Not for nothing. You get to take me out on a date when we get back home.” She smiled, pressing a kiss to his cheek before she left to go pack, leaving Bucky to roll his eyes before following her.
Hunter sipped the drink in his hand as he and Echo walked around the makeshift landing pad. He glanced at the Marauder, lit up from the inside before making himself concentrate on what Echo was saying.
“How is he doing?” The other clone asked, nodding at the ship.
Hunter wanted to shrug, he wasn’t entirely sure he could put it into words. “Tech is…keeping himself busy.”
“This intel should hopefully give us something. Even if it’s breadcrumbs,” Echo murmured. They came to a stop, Hunter leaned against a stone pillar while his brother took a deep breath and surveyed the surrounding area. “Will you all plan to stay here indefinitely? Stitch too?”
“That was a topic we never really broached,” he confessed. “I think we were all waiting for her to come home.”
Echo nodded in understanding, a small frown creasing his brow. Words failed him. He knew losing you wasn’t their fault but still, a nasty feeling resided his chest. You were special, a light in a dark corner of the world and now, you were in danger. Immense danger.
Wrecker’s playful shout cut through their silence, waving his arms around, then lunging for Omega who giggled loudly. “It would be the best outcome, to settle here. All of us,” Hunter finally conceded. “What about you? What have you been up to?”
“Rex and I have built up a small network of clones. Some are in hiding, underground. Others act as our contacts within the Empire.” He stopped, taking in a breath. “Stitch was invaluable. She helped clones in ways we never could and Fi…” shaking his head, Echo looked over at Hunter. “I’m worried he is going to do something stupid to find her.”
“The commando she befriended?”
Echo confirmed with a nod. “She told you about him, huh? Fi doesn’t take to just anyone, and now he’s gone silent. Rex thinks he’s going to wake up one day and find the commando gone without a trace.”
“Does he know something we don’t?” Hunter asked in a measured tone, trying not accuse his fellow clone of withholding intel.
“He probably does, we pulled him off one of the transport ships but he doesn’t remember much thats relevant.” They fell back into silence, their thoughts pulled in the same direction.
“Echo, you’ve seen the power the Empire wields. You, we, have no chance of defeating them.”
Echo frowned and took a breath. “So we just leave them all to the mercy of the Empire? We don’t fight for our brothers, we don’t fight for her.”
Hunter sighed, putting a placating hand on Echo’s shoulder. “I understand why…but when will it be enough?” He wanted to point out the Empire’s reach was long, much longer and widespread than a handful of clones could even dream.
“When we have freed as many as we can. We find our brothers, and while searching, we hopefully find Stitch,” Echo told him firmly.
Hunter’s com chimed and Tech came through in a rushed tone. “Hunter, I decrypted the data. You need to get back to the ship.” His chest tightened, a brief sense of optimism bubbled up and he hoped that whatever Tech had found was worth it.
Tumblr media
They were gathered round the console in the Marauder, uneasily waiting for Tech to start his explanation. It was the first time Hunter has seen that gleam in his eyes again, the one that had died the day you slipped through their fingers. He had spent nights sat on the ship or in the house, blaming himself in an endless cycle. Trying to justify his decisions at the time and then looking over at his brother who was broken but wouldn’t admit it. Hating himself in a spiral that had no end.
Even now, he was still hesitant, still distrustful, still reluctant to put the last of his squad, his family, in harms way. He had lost Crosshair, he had lost you, he wasn’t sure he could lose anyone else.
“The Imperial transport Echo hijacked was assigned to the Advanced Science Division.”
“Never heard of it,” Hunter instantly said.
“That is because it is a clandestine operation.” Tech explained. “There are no records on its location or its purpose.” Tech turned back to console, his shoulders drooping slightly. “All I could find on it was the chief scientist in charge. Doctor Royce Hemlock.” A picture popped up of the human surrounded by a guard of commandos. “An officer expelled from the Republic science corps due to his unauthorised and unorthodox experiments.”
“Why were they sending clone prisoners to him?” Omega asked. “Could he have Stitch or would she be somewhere else?”
Tech took a moment to respond, the mention of your name always seemed to shock him, as though it held him back for a few moments while he struggled through his feelings and what to say. “I have been through many Imperial Prison systems and even checked for transfers to Coruscant and found nothing relating to Stitch.“ He assumed you would have been taken straight to the Emperor, and he didn’t want to think about it. “I do not know why clones are being sent to Hemlock, but it gets worse,” he rounded off grimly before diving into more information.
“Previous transfer records recovered from the ships logs list other clone prisoners detained by the Advanced Science Division. And Crosshair, is one of them.”
It took a moment for his words to sink in, Omega’s eyes widening and Wrecker moved for the first time, stepping up to Tech. “You mean, Crosshair turned on the Empire?”
“How sure are you about this?” Hunter demanded.
“Very,” Tech stated firmly. “After discovering his clone number on the transfer register, I checked our old com channels and found a recent distress message sent from Crosshair’s old code.”
Omega didn’t take her eyes off Tech for a second. “What did it say?”
“Plan 88,” he responded, glancing round at his brothers. “The Seeker. We are being targeted. I believe he is warning us.”
“Or it’s a trap,” Hunter interrupted. “Like he’s set us before.” Tech’s eyes narrowed and he gripped his datapad tightly. He didn’t believe that, not after what had happened to you and the Empire’s interest in Omega too. It was too much of a coincidence to be dismissed.
“How do we find out?” Wrecker implored gruffly.
“We look harder,” Hunter said. “We have names, we know some of what we are looking for. Will you stay with us, brother?” Echo shifted, having only watched the whole interaction until now.
“Yes. We need whatever intel we can find and we need it now,” Echo pressed.
“I’ll take Omega back to the house,” Wrecker said but she stepped forward.
“I want to help.”
Hunter crouched down beside her. “You can help by looking after yourself and bringing these guys breakfast in the morning.”
“Will it help us find her?” She whispered, barely containing the wobble in her bottom lip. “I miss her.” Hunter glanced up at Tech, but his gaze was trained on the console, absorbed in the task now he had a direction to go in.
“Let’s see what they find.” Hunter hated not being able to give her any assurances, not having the power to sweep their melancholy away with some hope. “Come on.”
Tumblr media
The next day dawned bright and calm. The opposite of how it was within the Marauder. Tech and Echo were a flurry of activity searching all they could about the Advanced Science Division and Hemlock until Hunter had demanded they get some rest. Tech had refused to move, eventually succumbing to exhaustion in his chair and Echo had sensibly taken a bunk.
He sat on the steps of the ship, nursing a drink and watching the people of Pabu go about their daily business. A group of moon-yos chattered in the big tree, their wide eyes watching the food sitting on a step that Hunter had been ignoring. Absently he picked up a piece of fruit and tossed it in their direction, smiling a little as they squabbled over it on the ground before retreating back into their tree.
“Any luck?” Wrecker asked, fishing rod resting easily on his shoulder.
“Where is Omega?”
“With her friends. They’re trying to keep her occupied.” Hunter nodded, grateful when Wrecker sighed and planted himself casually on the lower steps of the ship. He grimaced, placing a hand on his shoulder and lifting his arm. “I really miss Stitch,” he grumbled.
Hunter let out a breath he’d been holding, noticing it did nothing to alleviate the tightness of grief he held for the absence of you. He knew the patience of waiting but he also knew how fast things could move. He held onto the reasoning, the Empire wanted you for a purpose, and it wasn’t to die. “We all miss her.”
“But we’ll get her back. Right?” Hunter threw another piece of fruit, letting the little critters chatter fill the void with noise so he didn’t have to fill it with false promises or fake platitudes. He’d never admit it, but he was barely keeping himself together.
“We need to find her first,” he muttered. “We shall have to see if they found anything else. Let them rest for now.” Wrecker took the dismissal. Hunter was sure the big clone had many things he wanted to say…but he didn’t. Picking up his fishing rod and clapping his brother on the back before disappearing from the landing platform.
Hunter stayed, keeping a silent vigil for his sleeping brothers, trapped in the whirl of his thoughts as he tried to plan for every eventuality.
Tumblr media
Dusk had fallen. Everyone was rested, the intel had been run through once more and Tech had even eaten some food Omega handed him. The lights of the ship glowed in all their faces as they stood behind Tech once more, tapping into the console. “Echo and I have scoured through Imperial and Republic files, but intel about the Advanced Science Division is limited.”
Hunter stared hopelessly at the screen. “Do we know where they’re detaining Crosshair and the other clones?”
“Negative,” Tech replied. “Their base of operations is unknown.”
The sergeant scowled, turning his gaze to Tech. “Well what about their chief scientist?”
“There was even less on Doctor Hemlock and I was very thorough. He, is a ghost.” Wrecker sighed, rubbing a hand over his face as Omega looked helplessly up at Hunter. He didn’t want to admit defeat, even if he knew deep down, it was probably the better option.
“Not quite,” Echo announced, making his way from the cockpit. “According to a contact of mine, Hemlock’s set to attend a high-level imperial summit in two rotations.” He set himself down at the console opposite Tech and brought up an image on the screen.
“Where?” Hunter demanded.
“Tarkin’s compound on Eriadu. If we do a covert infiltration, we can plant a homing beacon on Hemlock’s ship and track him to his base.”
“And to Crosshair,” Omega added. “Would Stitch be there too?” She’d asked that question before, and still no one could answer her.
Hunter crossed his arms, the tell tale scowl marking his brow as he mulled briefly over Echo’s plan. “It won’t be that simple,” he pointed out. “We’d be at a tactical disadvantage, and I’m not sure…it’s worth the risk.” He expected Wrecker to counter him, or even Echo, but it was Tech who spoke up first.
“I understand your hesitation. We have not always agreed with Crosshair but he is still our brother and we could find some intel on where Stitch has been taken.” He took a breath, his eyes imploring as they gazed at Hunter. “We do not leave our own behind.”
“If there’s a chance to get them back, we have to take it.” Wrecker backed up Omega with a swift agreement. Hunter wanted to believe them, he wanted to jump in with both feet and agree without pointing out all the flaws. But someone had to be sensible and look at it with a critical eye.
“What about reinforcements?”
Echo stood up, his expression grave. “Well, Rex is on a separate mission so it’s just us. A small enough team to get in and get out without alerting them. But…we’ll need to move quickly.”
Hunter knew the final decision lay with him, it always did. He couldn’t deny the faint thrum of excitement that bled through him, not enough to sweep away his hesitation at this idea, but he couldn’t deny Omega when she looked at him like that. Also if he said no…he couldn’t deal with breeding more resentment. “Well then,” he gave Omega a lopsided grin. “Let’s get started.”
I will rescue you
Another night in Beacon Hills and thank God nothing had been too weird in terms of the supernatural that seems to follow my friends and I. We would finish up classes and all head our separate ways home. I arrive home and see a note from my dad: Had to work late tonight. Dinner is in the fridge, be safe. Love Dad. My dad works closely with my best friend Stiles father, Sheriff Stilinski. From the time we were little, Stiles and I would be joined at the hip because of our dads working side by side. Many nights I would be over at the Stilinski's or Stiles would be at my house if our dads were working late. However, this night would be unlike any other.
Around 2 am, as I am deep asleep, I hear the familiar ring of my phone with Scott's signature ringtone. Now aroused from my deep slumber I roll over and reach for my phone. I hit the answer call button and Scott's panicked voice fills my ear. " Y/n, Stiles wandered off sleepwalking again and we need to find him! He called me like 3 times trying to explain where he is, and I can't get a clear answer. We got to go after him" he explains, full of panic about his missing brother. " Scott, just calm down. We will find him." I say, now filled with panic as I frantically try to call my dad and see if he knows anything about stiles going missing. I get on some old sweats and the sneakers Stiles left at my house and run to my car to try and hunt him down.
I meet up with Scott and Lydia at Stiles' house and find them both in his room. When I walk in, there are hundreds of red strings tied to a pair of scissors sitting stabbed in the middle of the bed. Each string pinned to something in his room with some kind of significance in his head. " Theres no way he would do this without some kind of reason right?" I ask as I turn to look at Scott. " Thats what's getting me too. Stiles hasn't sleepwalked like this in years. Not since his mom passed away. He was doing great. Has anyone else noticed something odd going on with him lately?" he wonders, looking around the room for some kind of clue as to where stiles could have wandered off to. Lydia chimes in with a theory of her own. " Well, he's been acting like the same goofy Stiles we know and love for as long as I know. Is it possible this is just him wandering off?" We all 3 look at each other and it hits us. Where would stiles wander off to when he's sleepwalking? The Beacon Hill's Preserve, the same place where Scott was bit. I send a text to my dad and Sheriff Stilinski to head to the woods, and to pick up mama Mccall on the way over. We all jump into Lydia's car and speed over to the preserve.
By the time we arrive, Sheriff Stilinski and my dad are walking back to their squad car with stiles, dressed in a thin t-shirt and flannel pajama pants with scrapes and bruises littering his bare arms. Lydia stops the car, and I jump out. I don't stop running until I have him back in my arms, just sobbing that he's alive and safe. His arms immediately grab onto me, and he starts to sob, a wave of relief washing over him now that he is back safe. " I was so worried about you. I thought something happened to you and you were gone" I sobbed into his shoulder. His hand grips me tighter to his chest and he whispers" I didn't know if you guys would find me in time"
Scott then comes running and wraps his arms around both of us. " Stiles you know we will always come rescue you" he says, trying to be strong for both of us. We let go of each other and allow the sheriff to take stiles home for the night. I then head over to the Stilinski house and stay in stiles room for the night, just to make sure he will still be there and not wander off again. Maybe when he wakes up, ill finally feel like I can tell him that I love him. Just maybe.
Right Where You Left Me
Tumblr media
Pairing: Joel Miller x Reader
W.C: 1.1k
Authors Note :) : enjoy the cutesy stuff while you can
Warnings: Violence, Death, Blood, Alcohol Consumption, Smoking, (eventual) Smut, if it's in TLOU it's in here basically. (None of this happens in this chapter!!)
Prologue: You were in love with Joel Miller even after he left you all those years ago. You couldn’t help but replay that night in your mind for as long as you lived. Joel had probably already moved on, hell he was probably dead. You knew he wasn’t, Joel Miller was one of the most stubborn assholes you had ever met. He wouldn't let some fungus take him out, but it was still easier to imagine him peacefully asleep forever instead of struggling for the rest of his life. Or maybe he wasn’t struggling, maybe he was cozying up with Sarah and some mystery woman who he called his wife on a beat up couch in an old worn down QZ. It wasn’t a lot but to them it was home. As much as the thought of Joel with another little family hurt like hell, it was better than him in a ditch somewhere. While he was moving on you were right where he left you that night, you may not have been in Texas physically but mentally you were. You were in your single bedroom apartment, just a ten minute drive from his place. He had called you late that night telling you he was going to bail Tommy out of jail and pick you up afterwards. You were supposed to celebrate his birthday with him. That never happened. You never got to give him his birthday card that told him exactly what you loved about the man. You never got to lay in his arms as you watched his favorite movie with Sarah. You never got to spend forever with him like you so badly wanted to.
══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══
The morning sun was just rising as you woke up. The room was filled with a golden hue that gave the man in front of you an almost angelic appearance. Joel's tanned skin was accentuated by the warm light, and the muscles on his arm, which lay gently over your hip, were more defined due to the shallow lighting. He looked truly beautiful like this, without any worry lines etched on his forehead and his breathing calm and even, The only time he seemed to be at peace was when sleeping with you in his arms.
You whispered his name and ran your fingers through his unkempt curls. You didn't want to disturb him, but if you didn't try to wake him first, Sarah would come barging in with more energy than he could keep up with in the morning.
"Come on, handsome, you gotta get up. Sarah will be running in here any second," you said gently. Joel mumbled something that went unnoticed by you and instead grabbed your hand that was running through his hair, interlocking your fingers.
"Let her come in; I just want a few more minutes with you." he replied sleepily. He kissed the hand he held, tightened his arm around your tired frame. "As much as I would love to stay here with you forever, I gotta make breakfast."
"Sarah can cook today, please just five more minutes?" He begged.
"If Sarah cooks, you'll end up with a plate of eggshells and raw bacon. How about I come get you when I'm done cooking okay? You can sleep a little bit more." Joel grumbled but lifted his arm off of you letting you know that you were free to go. You pushed a few more curls off his head and placed a kiss on his temple before getting up as he barely whispered an "I love you", still filled with sleep.
══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══
Walking down the hallway to check on Sarah, who was found in a similar state of sleep as her father, you realized that even though this small family may not appear as much to others, the Millers were everything to you. Even Tommy, despite being a pain in your ass most of the time, was family, and you wouldn't replace anyone in your little family for anything.
You looked for the pancake mix that Joel promised Sarah, but of course you couldn't find it. Joel had forgotten to buy it on his latest grocery trip once again. Just eggs, bacon and potatoes then.
As you were almost done with breakfast, you heard old wooden stairs creaking under someone's weight, presumably Sarah's, before feeling a pair of strong arms wrap around your waist. "Good mornin’, baby. It smells delicious." He hid his face in your neck and planted innocent kisses on the sides of your neck.
"Good morning handsome, the coffee is already done. I'll just finish up these eggs before I go wake Sarah and start serving plates."
"I'm going to marry you someday, you know that? You go wake Sarah up; I'll finish up down here." He detangled himself from you and gave you a quick peck on the lips before sending you on your way. "You better, Miller. I'll be waiting for the day until then."
══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══
When you walked into Sarah’s room she was up and ready to go, minus the mess of hair she was struggling to put in a ponytail, her hair just as wild as her daddy’s. “You want some help with that babe?”
“For the love of god please. It won't work with me today.” She frowned at herself in the mirror picking at the random curls that surrounded her face.
You smoothed out the sheets on her bed before patting on the mattress for her to take a seat next to you. She faced forward as you brushed her hair back for her and smoothed it down with a spray bottle filled with water and coconut oil, you carefully tied the hair tie around her ponytail moving some bits of hair around until she decided it was to her liking. “Alright kid, you're all done, so is breakfast, go get something to eat before school.”
“Thank you, love you!” Sarah rushed out of her room and you heard her quick footsteps on the creaky stairs as she practically ran to her father in the kitchen.
You would never get used to Sarah’s words of affection towards you. Each time the girl muttered an “I love you” or each time she told you she wished Joel would marry you already so you could officially be her mom, it tugged on your heartstrings in the purest of ways.
Even if she didn’t come from you and Joel together she was still your daughter no doubt. Joel referred to you as “Your Mom” or “Your Momma” when he spoke about you around the girl and each time it brought a smile to your face and a sting to your eyes. Three years with the Millers and you already felt like this was where you were meant to be for the rest of your life.
In a way your heart would forever stay frozen in the Miller household just not in the way you thought it would be.
══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══
You would never forget the day the outbreak happened. The day Joel left you for dead.
You were getting ready to go over to Joel’s to celebrate his 32nd birthday, you remembered he didn’t want to make a big deal out of it and he specifically requested no presents from you. How could you not though?
He was the person you wanted to spend the rest of your life with of course you wanted to make a big deal out of it. Instead you ended up alone with a bottle of his favorite whiskey, a copy of that stupid movie he always talked about, and a handwritten note you got Sarah to sign as well. He had to bail Tommy out of jail for some fight in a bar and then he promised he would be right over. You should’ve realized he wasn’t coming to pick you up like he promised when his phone sent you to voicemail for the fourth time in a row
“Hey Joel I know you’re probably still busy but call back when you can? Happy birthday I love you.” If you knew that was the last time you were ever going to “speak” to him you would’ve said so much more, but how could you have known.
You heard the world ending before you saw it, you were laying on your side staring at your still blank phone screen waiting for a call back when you heard the screams. These weren’t the yells you were used to hearing on the busy Texas streets, no, these were blood-curdling, gut wrenching screams of pure panic and terror. When you saw the fires outside and the people stampeding over each other you only had one thing on your mind. Joel and Sarah.
