Late Night Mends
Pairing: Kid (Monkey Man) x reader
Word count: 2.1K
Warning: 18+ MDNI, mentions of anxiety, injuries, not a lot of spice, some fluff, not proof/beta read lol, does not contain spoilers for Monkey Man.
Note: Absolutely am in love with Dev Patel, he adores the world and fandom love! Also special mention to my friend @mittos who helped with this prompt/story ideas. Go and see Monkey Man if you haven't already! And if you have go and see it again! Also jaan is a Hindi term of endearment. Also can we take a moment for Dev Patel's side profile?! Comments, and reblogs are always appreciated as well! I hope you enjoy!
************************************************************************
It was late, extremely late. It had been a slow night but it was quickly becoming the latest it had ever been without his tired, bloody presence. It made you uncomfortable how late it was becoming, he never took this long to show up after a big match. You bit your nails as you couldn’t help but think about the possibility of where he was and scarily, what condition he was in.
It was a risky field that Kid was in, especially when he was the losing dog for the overeager, sweaty crowd not to bet on. He took the punches and rarely complained about it, you’d only ever been to one of his fights before and never again. It was too painful to watch, you’d bitten each of your fingernails right down to the beds, and you swore that it gave you a few grey hairs. If you had any, each of them could be traced back to being his fault, you were sure. You loved him, truly adored him, but he certainly knew how to stress you out.
You’re sitting down waiting for him to arrive. You don’t even realise that you’ve put your hand up to your face to bite your nails but now you know that you must’ve as you’ve been subconsciously biting them as you look out the window waiting, lost in your thoughts. You could think and use that as a distraction but no, the more you think or gaze off, the more you think about him, worry about him and overanalyse every little thing to be analysed, including what would need a magnifying glass to do so. You sigh and rub your face tiredly and also as another poor attempt at a distraction to take your mind away from him.
It was a ridiculous thought, nothing could distract you from him, Kid lived rent-free in your mind 24/7, no matter what you did or wanted. And now was his prime time for filling your head.
You rub your face some more and then look up, you can hear the door quietly open and the sound of gentle footsteps start to make their way to you. You look up as you try to glimpse the start of his lean shadow to confirm that he’s really, really, finally here. The light switch turns on as you see his arm stretch out and then he’s standing there in your doorway.
You look up at him as he stands, he just looks at you for a moment. His gorgeous doe-eyes are wide, he looks exhausted and defeated but there’s a small smile on his face as his eyes meet yours. Ever since you’d known Kid, he had always been a man of few words, which seemed to balance out just how expressive his handsome face was. You liked that though, that his eyes truly were the window to his soul. You did like his voice though as well, you’d have no problem with him using it more. Sometimes he would talk though, about his sweet mother, the stories of Hanuman that his mother had told him and that had vividly stuck with and inspired him still.
You quickly take him in, there’s sweat in his hair, a cut in his cheek, and his knuckles are bloody as always. You bite your lip as you look at him, chewing over your words so you don’t come across as either a scolding lover or treating him like a patient.
“Your hands…” You finally say as he steps closer to you and you can see that he made some attempt to cover them with a bit of cloth but the blood is all over his right hand.
“It’s fine.” He says in a soft whisper, his voice is melodic as always but a little hoarse and deep. He looks down at his hand he tries not to flinch when you take his hand and it’s further proof that no, it really isn’t fine. You sigh and move his hand to check his fingers, it causes discomfort but based on the movement you know it’s not broken at least. It was genuinely impressive that he was still alive, still functioning and not just with everything he’d been through as a young boy, but with the amount of beatings he’d taken at the club. That he’d somehow avoided major damage to his body, that his handsome looks were still intact, and also his teeth. That was a big surprise you had to admit.
“Sit down.” You look at him with a look of concern, one that he doesn’t like. “Come on, I’ll clean it up.” You say softly. He runs his right hand, his good hand through his damp but perfect locks and he sighs, sitting down, waiting for you to fix his wounds and to feel your tender touch.
You’d had the first aid kit ready to go, sitting on the floor waiting for his entrance. You always used it, he always needed it. Your medical background certainly helped, some nights you’d crack a joke that that was the only reason why he was with you. The first time you made that joke his eyes widened at first, and he immediately stuttered to try and reassure her that that wasn’t the case. He didn’t realise that it was a joke. You’d kissed him to reassure him and he kissed you back so sweetly. Now when you made the joke he’d just look at you and give you a small, precious chuckle. You just want to make him smile, make him laugh, bring him joy, and make him feel safe. He deserved that at the very least, especially with his gigantic hug.
His hand clearly had taken the worst of it, you hold it gently in yours, and his hand twitches for a moment. He’s spent most of his life being devoid of affection. He craved a gentle touch, to feel seen and safe in the company of another. He’d started to find that with you, in the way you looked at him, how you carefully held his hand in arms when cleaning an injury and wrapping it up. You somehow had never noticed it, he figured it was because of how attentive you were to his injuries, to him, and his lips quirked up into a secret smile you’d miss over the irony of you not noticing this because of how attentive you were being to him.
“You were later than usual.” You say as you clean his bruised and bloodied knuckles.
“I know.” He whispers as he looks up at you, he’s tired but there’s a small smile on his lips as he knows the scolding is incoming, just what degree is it going to be from you tonight, is the question.
“I was worried, my fingernails are almost as bloody as your knuckles because of how much I was biting them.” You say as you try to clean his hand gently, noting how his hand occasionally twitches in response.
“Would’ve been quite a match.” He whispers before he looks at your hands, noticing your nervously bitten nails. His cheeks heat up as he can’t help but feel a little bit of guilt about causing you to worry so, he’s spent so much of his life without someone who cares about him like this. You sigh and roll your eyes at his response.
“You’re going to be the cause of every single grey hair I have in this lifetime.” You say as you treat the knuckle wounds, making sure you’re gentle. “All I do is worry, you spend every night getting beaten, thrown off tables. It’s going to be too much one day. Something will go wrong. Then what?” Kid can’t help but look up at you, it’s a conversation that’s happened more than a few times. “What if it’s your spine or something? I won’t be able to fix that-” “It’s okay. It’s fine. I’m okay, jaan.” He says as he looks up at you, his big brown eyes are widened and he’s looking at you with his sad puppy dog eyes, he feels bad for making you worry so much.
You sigh, biting your lip as you try to stop yourself from saying anything else. He’s too sweet and so you nod and finish cleaning and bandaging everything. After a moment, you cup his cheek as you look at his warm eyes and you go to get him some water to drink. He watches you and continues to as he drinks the water. You two have become quite good at playing a game of watching each other, almost like it’s a sport to observe the other.
He looks at you, tilting his head which tousles the gorgeous locks he has a little. You sigh and run a hand through his soft brown curls, damp with sweat but somehow miraculously not blood. His hair has always been absolutely perfect. You feel bad for essentially venting your anxieties at him right as he’s come from a long night of work at the club.
“I only scold because I care.” You say but you’re not sure if it’s him or yourself that you’re trying to convince more as you say the words, but it’s true technically. “It’s a form of doting really.” You say as you look at him as he adjusts in his seated position, looking up at you with his wide, doe-eyed orbs. Even if it was a form of doting, you could never stay mad at him for long when having to look into those gorgeous eyes. They’d melt away any troubles and you’re sure if awards were given out for best brown eyes, he’d win. You hated that he did this, that this was how he had to get by. That he had to take these awful, unhealthy beatings but you love him anyway.
He was freshly bandaged now, he moved his hand up and Kid started to slowly caress your cheek, he traced some invisible line so gently with the pads of his fingertips as he looked at you. His doe eyes were filled with adoration and peacefulness as he concentrated on your beauty. You let him, it was soothing and sweet and you had no reason to even consider stopping this. You were his and he was yours.
Your eyes glance down at his fingers, and then you put a hand up to cup his cheek and look into the most beautiful eyes you could ever imagine seeing. After he feels your touch his eyes quickly close and he inhales. He isn’t sure if he’ll ever get used to the feeling of your fingers on his face, of how your hair feels against his skin, or your breath, but he knows for sure, that he’ll at least never tire of it.
His fingers glide down do your mouth and he traces your lips as he looks at them. He tilts his head and before he can even move, you’ve moved your head to press your lips together. There’s something about how gentle his hands are with you, how they feel even after everything that has happened to him and that he does. How it just takes a glance at you for him to melt into a puddle.
You put your hand back into his hair and run it through his curls as he kisses you back and the kiss deepens almost immediately. He cups your cheek gently as your lips move together in sync and you can’t help but start to tug his locks a little and his hand moves to your waist to hold you close against him. You continue to play and tug his hair as his lips move down your chin and jaw and he kisses your neck. You gasp out and tug on his hair a bit more as you feel his breath tickle your throat between his passionate kisses. You struggle to not let out a giggle as he does this and you feel your cheeks heating up as you tilt your head back so your neck is as exposed as possible for him while he kisses your throat and makes his way to your collarbone.
He always gets like this, and so quickly. He just needs a little touch, the reassurance of you being there and he feels an all-consuming need to make up for the years of loneliness, the lack of affection, the lack of physical contact outside of a fight he was guaranteed to lose. He has you in his arms and it’s something right for once, if it was a game this would be a victory, some kind of peace.

ramble on, sweetheart ⊹ kid, monkey man light! nsfw content. black reader in mind but anyone can read. talks of trauma (his mothers death). kissing. him coded things. some modern au while others are set in the movie.
having kid as a boyfriend . . . would be so fulfilling but deathly worrying. he’s so attentive (just as you are to him), kind, giving, gentle, and heartfelt.
worships the ground you walk on. full hands and knees type worships.
he definitely uses those big eyes to his advantage whether he knows it or not. feel like you’ve told him about it but he continues to deny it.
saves up his money from the tournaments to not only get a gun but get you something. like a bracelet or something memorable.
greets you bloody, dripping with sweat and dirt with a closed mouth, tired smile on his face every time he comes home to you.
even comes home with small groceries that you said you needed to pick up the day after, just cause it was “on his route,” quoted him, even though he most definitely had to cross some streets and walk a little longer to get it.
doesn’t sleep a lot so listens to you breath most nights (no matter how weird it sounds). enjoys it though, makes him feel comfortable.
definitely the type to kiss your hand and wrist. goes along with the worshipping part.
doesn’t really talk much. you know he has so much to say but he doesn’t say much of it. especially when it comes down to his feelings towards certain things.
he’s easy to read though. since you’ve been in a relationship you’ve realized how important it is to just let him be quiet and watch his eyes and behavior.
makes little jokes here and there, once he’s comfortable. especially if you’re already the playful type, yeah he’s make some sarcastic jokes.
feels embarrassed about his hands at first. he most definitely felt ashamed of them and lied about what happened for the first couple weeks of your relationship.
ends it telling you the truth late at night when he can’t sleep once he realizes that he’s comfortable enough w you and he’s iinnn looovvveee.
likes to lay on your chest and let you play with his hair. side note: i just know his hair is sooo soft but is almost all the time sticky and sweaty.
thinking about how he’d love hugging you after having a panic attack. like he’s breathing heavy, arms around you tight.
feel like if you ever gave him something for like luck or just a small gift he’d take it everywhere and/or wear it everyday.
also something that’s soo him coded is having a picture of you in his wallet. like the cutest picture ever on earth, taken by him of course.
thinks you're the best thing that has happen to him in a long time and he adores you.
will just stare at you without you knowing (while you’re focusing on something else) and go “you’re gorgeous.”
there’s no doubt in my mind that he wouldn’t look at another woman like he looks at you. he wouldn’t dare even share a glance to them.
during his missions, he wouldn’t get you involved unless you wanted to be.
he would consider it for a little, just because you want to but deep down he’s just wants to say no and that be the end of it.
losing you scares him and to put you in the position where he would lose you is the last thing he wants to do.
when he leaves and doesn’t know if he coming back he says, “i’ll be with you forever soon.” before kissing your lips.
adding on to the gift one, he’d even carry it during his extreme antics. can’t help but think about him waking up after being shot, at the temple, and looking around for it (if it’s not on his person).
“the picture… that was in my pocket.” he’d ask quietly to the keeper. they point to the small bed side table, kid hadn’t taken note of before. he lets out almost a sigh once he finds the picture, but can’t help but worry about how you’re feeling. a frown slightly shadowing his face. “she’s beautiful,” the keeper comments.
when they put him on the news as a wanted terrorist, and even after, he stayed away, trying to keep you safe.
in his community, he’s seen the small kids grow up and older adults have seen him do so, so he’s very particular with who he introduces them to.
and let’s say he doesn’t hesitate all that much to do so with you.
i feel like the kids would warm up to you somewhat quickly.
feel like they would give you little trinkets or flowers they found, just cause.
if you play with them and kid witnesses?? he’s not gonna say it, he swears up and down it’s the cutest thing he’s seen in his life (gets baby fever).
in the sheets, he prefers sex to be passionate and loving. feel like he fucks you like it’s the last he’ll ever see you, every time.
feel like he’d like to rough with you sometimes. maybe if he’s stressed and he always asks if you want it rougher.
he talks you through it. like my god. but like really sweetly.
he’s a tit man! just feel like he’s too shy to look at your ass but definitely not shy enough to look down your top.

talkin' rings and talkin' cradles ( The Kid x escort!reader, 18+)
Something was different, in all of the months he came to see you, he’d been a gentleman. He’d never pushed you, only kept his hands where you wanted them, and he never, ever hid from you. Now, after a month of no contact, and begging the Gods for his safety, he was right here, hiding.
No, maybe that wasn’t true. He was just different.
Over a month, you’d heard nothing. You thought, for a moment, that he’d gotten bored of you, most men who came to see you did eventually, but deciding that perhaps he’d died hurt your heart less. It was all men were good for, after all.
But here he was, in the back room, eerily calm. Of course it was him, you’d know him anywhere. Tall, broad, a black suit, and a white ape mask covering his beautiful face. You knew it was him under there, but he held himself differently. His shoulders held back, like he wanted to be seen when he walked into a room.
“What’s happened? Talk to me.” You almost beg him, there was a time you’d have worried you were asking for too much. But not here, not with him. You hear a small sigh under the mask, and it makes your hair stand on end.
“Was it a fight?” You’d seen him at Tiger’s Temple, you knew how badly he needed to be hit, and hit hard. What if he’d quit pulling his punches. Maybe he’d knocked someone out he hadn’t meant to? What if -
Your anxiety sits on your chest, digging in deeper, but is cut off by him, slowly, steady as ever, he took your shaky palm in his hand, bringing it up to the mask, as if to kiss it. Of course your hair stands on end, even the lightest touch from him left you shaking. For a moment, you think of other men, the ones who paid to fuck you, and how they’d die to see you like this - obedient, soft, trained.
They didn’t matter, and never would.
He lets you fall to your knees. You look up at him like he was that western God he’d heard so much about. He knows he’s an absolute fool for coming to see you. It would be the last time, he just had to see you, he just had to tell you …
And it’s gone. Any plan he’d made of what he’d say evaporated the moment you put your hands on him.
You were quick with your hands, always, and it dazzled him, just like the rest of you does.
He breathes heavily through the mask, trying not to crumble at your feet…again…He shouldn’t have left you alone for so long, completely unprotected, with these people. It wasn’t fair. Nothing about this was fair. He shivers lightly, as you expose him to the cold air in the room, and slowly stroke him, firmly and evenly, as if that would hide your own hunger.
With a short, rough lick to his tip, he’s in pieces. He could sit and ponder the hold you had on him, but he wouldn’t. He’d had enough time to think.
You take his hands in your own, and put one large, warm palm in your hair. He doesn’t do it himself, so you’ll have to do it for him. You always felt he was far away whenever you had him like this, you wouldn’t allow that this time.
He, on the other hand, was too busy gazing at you, cock in your hand, begging for attention, and your sweet face totally focused on him. What did he do to deserve this attention? What had he done that warranted such care?
Your breath on his throbbing muscle feels like fire, it’s quite a contrast to the rest of you. He’d gotten used to your manner, but the way you completely softened to him felt like an honor. You lick lightly, and he grinds his teeth together. Teasing him brought you such joy. You couldn’t imagine a world where everything he passed didn’t fall at his feet and beg for attention, same as you.
Enough now, you think, as you end it.
A small puff of air through your nose, and he has to brace himself on the wall behind the two of you.
You fuck him with your throat. It’s what he deserves.
The ridges in your mouth drag mercilessly against his member. Your nails dig into his hips, your tears stream freely down your face, and you're determined to have your fill. He’d never spilled in your mouth before, and he wouldn’t today. Even if it would be the last time.
You whine, just a little, as he lays a warm, wide palm on your shoulder, a little signal to stop. The fold between your brows deepens, you want to taste him but all he ever does is deny you.
The white ape stares at you, blankly, only a hint of him underneath. He helps you off your knees, and you can’t remember why you were scowling.
He puts his injured palm against your cheek, and your chest is suddenly filled with feathers. He’s always so gentle with you, and you can't stand it.
Your makeup smeared, you grip his shoulders and press yourself against him, reaching up to grab that stupid white ape mask, pulling it off his face.
He looked better than when he'd last come to you, his face a little more round, like he'd smiled at some point since the last time you'd seen him. 'Better' was a good look for him, but the unbearable sadness remained the same.
He knows you see write through him, taking a fist of your hair, pulling your head back firmly, tracing up your throat with his tongue, only meeting your mouth when you keen for it, brushing your nose against his own.
He'd never make you beg, that doesn't mean you wouldn't
Your eyes roll, mouth falling open as he pushes slowly, confidently, inside of you. You allow him to coo at you, “always so good for me, such a good girl,” and you nip at the hand he’s resting on the side of your face.
You help him, as he moves you like he pleases, humming as he puts your legs over his shoulders, trying to hit deep. You want to keep him and his formidable cock hostage. Maybe you should.
He starts slowly, softly, praising you all the while.
"I've missed you terribly, have you missed me?" You nod, lovely warmth seeping out of every pore.
He thinks, for a moment, about his revenge, and he twitches inside of you. You don’t know a thing, that’s by design. You’re perfectly drunk on his cock, his fierce lover, completely sweet and soft. It makes him insane, the privilege you'd given him.
"Ah - You always take me so well, fit around me just right. Thank you," You put your thumb in his mouth, where it belongs.
Kid wants to tell you that he’ll keep going. He’ll keep fighting, that he can save enough to get the two of you out of the city. You wouldn’t know a moment of worry for him again.
He says nothing, tears stream down your face as he ruts into you, eyes glazed over as he takes a heated love bite out of your neck.
For a moment, you see yourself in a year - hopefully less, in a different bed, body changed by him, comfortable now. Maybe even free. Maybe you're retired. Maybe you've gone back to laundry, working like your mother, before you were taken away.
Kid rolls the sensitive flesh of your breasts with his burned fingers, watching you twitch against the wall. Your sad little whines sounds like music, and he can't tell you how he lives to hear it.
With your back arched in a silent scream, you shatter. Lost in heaven.
You drift - vaguely feeling him pound into you, chasing right behind. Your breasts bounce with each thrust, as if it only makes him hungrier. You think about the first time you did this, how you had to put his hands on you, to let him roam as he pleased. He dared now, he roams all over, and he pleases you by pleasing himself.
Good, you think.
"Jaana?" He calls to you from far away, voice rough, "Have I hurt you?" You feel him sigh as you smile at him, stunned. He’s still pulsing inside of you, and he’s asking how you are?
The heat of him makes you wriggle to get closer, and he almost laughs. Almost. You couldn’t get closer without becoming one, he wishes it was possible.
“No, you haven’t.” You hum, pressing your face into his neck, and inhaling. He chuckles lightly, and you want to drown in the rumble. Even after letting a stranger devour you, he still fucks you more sweetly than anyone ever has. Or ever will.
Face buried in your neck, your wrists tight in his grasp, you pray to yourself that he’ll stay with you. That he’ll stay overnight, and the two of you can be something more than what you were.
His grip on you tightens, safely stepping forward, and lowering you back on to a worn out mattress. He doesn't like to have you there. Your clawing grip on the back of his neck doesn’t release, your body won’t allow you to let him go. He doesn’t mind.
He leans down to kiss you like he loves you, and that was far too dangerous to dwell on.

the ring girl — MM
gif ©: magnusedom, mkayoung, ayoedebiris
film: monkey man (2024)
synopsis: tiger's temple never had a ring girl, nor one as straightforward as their first would turn out to be. however, unbeknownst to anyone who'd interacted with her in the workplace, she was no mere ring girl — at least she wouldn't be by the end.
word count: 3.7k
featuring: kid, (oc) ishani, tiger
warnings: (it's monkey man be fr) strong language, misogynistic themes
a/n: pssst! this was originally just an outline for me (similar to 'the beginning' for ilyily) but i wanted to provide backstory b4 i posted anything else for MM! hope you enjoy :)
he remembered the first time he saw her; the black sheep with her head down as she entered the locker room of the arena, a meager woman compared to the grimy crowd of men housed inside. like a lamb in the lions' den — or tiger's temple, perhaps — eyes would begin to collect on the anomaly in the room and people started to further notice the oddities of the situation, including himself as he peeled off the signature monkey mask. without the latex obstructing his view kid could now see the substantial gashes and bruises along her skin, the determination in her eyes as she walked herself right up to his boss, jaw clenching once he'd noticed her.
"what the fuck are you doing here?"
"you're tiger, is that right?"
the greasy-haired man sneered. "and who the fuck are you?"
kid would slam his locker shut from his place across the room and, though he was all ready to go and rest for the night, he'd linger around to keep an eye on tiger whilst he spoke with the willful woman peering up at him through narrowed eyes.
"you need a ring girl." she said simply — matter-of-fact. "i need a job. maybe we could work something out."
tiger's face would screw up into a look of disbelief as he glanced around the audience surrounding to see the commotion, a mixed reaction from the crowd bringing his attention back to her. he'd mirror her folded arms and cocked brow before responding half as professional and twice as patronizing, utterly unsuspecting of the girls' smile that would follow.
"we don't need a ring girl."
the dark-haired woman almost chuckled. "course you do; why do you think ring girls exist?"
tiger now actually took a moment to ponder her query — the first, not the second. the second was obvious. but that was exactly why he paused; this random girl off the street was opting to be ogled at in a bad part of town just for a job. who knows, maybe it could even bring in new audience members — but his wildest ideas more focused on the limitations of her willingness. how far would she be willing to go for money?
a cagy smile would curl the boss's bitten lips before he laughed and swiped a misplaced hair behind his ear. "you..." he trailed off and shook the deceit from his thoughts, "you've got yourself a deal, there. come back tomorrow at 4 and we'll talk details."
she'd offer a mere nod before beginning to turn, halted by tiger's voice booming off the tile flooring once more. "wait! what the fuck is your name?" the woman casted her sharp gaze over her shoulder when the pseudonym left her mouth.
"ishani."
tiger would then be abandoned to stew in his suspicion about her as she exited the same way she came, leaving the room to erupt in conversations left utterly unheard by kid who'd exited out the back door as soon as ishani was out of sight. by the time he laid down with his eyes on the ceiling fan, the occurrences of the day wholly left his mind, replaced with the abrasive memories that kept his eyes open until the sun rose. and then, just like every day, he would return to the ring once more to be beaten until the crowd was happy — the only difference being the new ring girl wearing half as many clothes as when he'd last seen her and a smile that didn't convince the monkey man one bit.
the months that followed ishani's arrival took some adjusting to get used to. matches changed, payment changed, tiger changed. at first it was just getting used to a woman being in the building — especially one dressed the way ring girls did. the other men were like starved dogs in overheard conversations that had him keeping a closer eye on them — to the point that he began noticing each and every snide comment that accused of 'not belonging' and weird notes left from a 'secret admirer' on her mirror. it was all tough to stomach even for him so he couldn't begin to imagine how she felt walking home at night.
but then it was the audience that changed. sure, she was booed here and there at the beginning in favor of the actual fighting they'd come to bet on, but after a while she started gaining traction. there were men who'd come only to cheer when she stepped into the ring with that stupid sign, eagerly waiting by the back door until her shift was over to ask for her number or who to bet on next. there was even an incident where a sold-out show for two unpopular fighters was terminated early due to the absence of life in the crowd when ishani wasn't visible, but the important detail to tiger hadn't been the lack of enthusiasm for the actual fight, it was the attention and money he made without the fight.
the locker room became a slaughterhouse by the time tiger started favoring ishani. talks of how 'desirable' she was turned into how pesky she was, perverted smooches turned into arrogant scoffs, and all the while ishani remained totally uninterested in it all. she kept her head down and did what she had to do, which often entailed skimpier outfits than typical or (objectively worse) humoring the sweaty patrons for 900 rupees an hour. either way, she continuously endured the bitter tasks put forth day by day without ever making a fuss until finally, on an evening as regular as any other, she seemed to snap.
it came after an apparently tough day when she walked into the building with her hair tied in a rat's nest at the top of her head and dark circles under her eyes to emphasize the frown creased besides her nostrils. tiger had begun calling out to her as she swung open the door to her personal storage closet and, without uttering a word, slammed the door shut behind her. the peeved man would then look around to see if anyone else had witnessed this variation in her demeanor, naive to the eyes behind the monkey mask watching his every move under a microscope.
she was sour from that point on, the perpetual scornful knitting of her brows evident to anyone who cared to look from the beginning of her shift until the very end. she'd kept her mouth sewn shut the entire day even when tiger called her over before she could change and grab her stuff to leave the vile workplace — even when he'd asked her to 'have a drink' with a customer for another hour — even when said customer spilt his drink down her front. only when kid noticed the grubby hand on her thigh creeping inward did ishani finally release whatever had been caught on her tongue all day, her own drink now being thrown in his face.
"fuck off you worthless pig! keep your dirty dick in your pants and leave me the fuck alone!"
any and all conversations from lingering individuals in the vicinity would cease entirely upon hearing the howl released from the formerly well-mannered ring girl. caught in the sights of her boss and coworker for two entirely different reasons, ishani shot up from her seat to storm off from the man at the table, called after only by tiger as she made her way toward the locker rooms.
"ishani!"
she didn't even glance back at him, continuing her way out of the central arena to leave the bewildered audience behind as she disappeared into the employee-only section of the building. kid would catch himself rushing through any leftover tasks before he could go home with ishani in the forefront of his mind, holding on to the hope that he could run into her before she'd left and offer some sympathy for her day — only to find the locker room entirely empty when he grabbed his bag. with the release of a breath he didn't know he'd been holding, he'd opt instead to simply keep an eye on her tomorrow and make sure she was alright, stepping out the back door with slumped, aching shoulders.
— and then, as he took in a deep breath of the fresh air on the second step, his eyes would be quicker than his mind to notice the figure in his peripheral. by the time he recognized her, ishani's attention was already on him, sitting slumped against the brick wall with a quirked brow at the lanky man on the eroding staircase.
finally, after months of mutual intrigue and accidental eye contact with the other who seemed to be watching when they weren't looking, kid and ishani would interact for the first time with a comfortable breeze between them and hushed voices under the twinkling stars.
"are you okay?" he'd asked sincerely. the wind brushed her hair from her cheeks as she replied, "yeah. all good." and yet, he could've sworn he'd noticed a glum cadence in her words.
"do you want me to call a taxi?"
"it's alright, but thank you." she produced a small smile identical to the other sad grins presented throughout the day. "just waiting for him to go home before i leave."
him — the man at the bar. kid was already leaning on his heel to turn back inside. "i can tell him to leave." he could almost see the rain clouds looming over her head begin to part as her downturned smile grew brighter, unalloyed while her shoulders straightened out.
"i'd appreciate that."
she spoke with the gratitude obvious in her sparkling eyes, and so, with the simple nod of his head, kid would then head back inside to oblige. he'd even go as far as to exit out the front door for his walk home just to make sure the perverse man didn't turn back around, all the while contemplating his limited interactions with the ring girl. unbeknownst to him, this decision would finally grace ishani with the first real smile she'd experienced in a long while, one that remained imprinted all the way home as if to remind herself how to do it.
the days following this incident would proceed as normal if not for the instances when their eyes caught from across the room once more, a different kind of smile on her lips than the one he’d grown used to. it caught him totally off guard the first time and left him utterly unsure of how to react or respond before she was whisked away by tiger to fulfill another duty in the day. however, by the second honest smile kid had become certain this wasn't just a fluke, mustering the courage and the will to push through the throbbing in his jaw as he replicated her grin. it wasn't nearly as genuine or convincing as ishani's, but it was there, and that's all that really mattered in her eyes.
day by day, little by little, kid and ishani's smile-laced glances would grow friendlier and friendlier despite their lack of communication — even getting to the point where others had begun to notice.
"making after work plans, there, kong?" cobra would snicker as he took a step closer to the beast on the other side of the ring.
"stop talking and hit me."
it wasn't until a little over two weeks after they'd spoken that ishani and the monkey man would be in contact with one another again, finding themselves interacting once more due to a complex work situation;
he was waiting against the wall of tiger’s perpetually locked office door when he’d noticed her enter the locker room — practically barging through the greasy guys with hands balled into fists as she walked right past him and up to tiger's office. she'd knock with heavy knuckles against the chipped oil paint and, after a brief pause, the door would swing open to reveal their hasty-looking employer with an astounded and somewhat irritated expression on his face.
"ishani," tiger hummed with condescension weaved in his tone "i don't suppose this could wait."
she stood her ground with a simple "no," replicating his low octave but without the distain present in her vocal cords. kid swore he could still sense it.
“alright,” their boss sighed and pulled the door open further to let her in. “grab a seat.”
before entering ishani would promptly glance over at the bloody man leaned into the wall beside her, a look of what he could only describe as sympathy creasing her features. this puzzling gesture urged him now to respond the only way he could — the only way they did — and earned her a comforting smile as she started to head inside. the minuscule flash of her grin appeared on her lips for only a second before she then disappeared from his view, completely failing to close the door behind her.
the monkey man wasted only a moment on internal debate before deciding to inch closer to the doorway and listen in, back pressed flat to the wall and eyes forward while he overheard their conversation. she must've left the door open for a reason, right?
"it's like i've told you before,” tiger spoke in an annoyed grumble “that isn't how business works, and that isn't how this is going to work — if it did work like that i'd be the richest person in the world tomorrow, but unfortunately company comes before personnel."
"all i'm asking is for you to stick to your word. i don't expect any favors. just respect."
"respect?" he asks with an exasperated thinness, a scoff caught in his throat. "respect you?"
ishani, on the other hand, is surprisingly calm despite her previous demeanor. “would you break a promise with someone you respect?” tiger finally scoffs.
“what promise, ishani? i never promise anything to anyone — especially not the ring girl with a fake name who prances around for money.”
kid can almost hear the smirk in her voice. “the ring girl whose made you an extra few thousand rupees every night? s’that the one you’re talking about? — because if so, that’s even more of a reason to keep your word.”
there is a beat before tigers response that left the eavesdropping man outside to ponder his own theories of what he was doing during this time. maybe he was pushing his tongue in his cheek to keep his big mouth from saying something he shouldn’t. maybe he was brushing his hair behind his ears as the thought of a cool and collected response. maybe —
“i don’t give hand-outs, ishani.”
on the contrary to his mulling, her answer was immediate. “that is such bullshit, man! you rig every match! how am i asking too much when you make me to stay late every night just to laugh at some sweaty guys' jokes? not to mention the other things you beg me to do. and yet i never complain and i never whine — which is why i asked you last week for my pay today. i need that money today, tiger.”
kids brows would furrow upon hearing this new information. he knew tiger did things under the table, of course, everyone did! most matches were rigged and he did ask ishani to sit with some overzealous customer just about every night, however her emphasis on other things caught his full attention, the implications nearly baring his teeth.
"i can't give you your pay tonight. best i can do is friday."
"friday?" ishani repeats, her volume raised higher than before "it's tuesday, tiger — how am i going to eat tonight? how will i wash my clothes tomorrow? what am i supposed to do until friday?"
"honestly, i don't know, but i believe you'll figure it out. now, i have somewhere to be, so i will see you tomorrow." tiger's annoyance is now outwardly apparent in his voice.
"that's it? i should just go fuck myself then?"
"if that's what you wish to call it, sure; go fuck yourself — now get out of my office."
from around the corner kid can hear a chair screeching as its legs skid against the ground before landing with a thud. then, ishani's swift but heavy footsteps, her face beet red as she exited the office in the same manner as she had arrived. and before kid even has the chance to do or say anything, tiger is peeking his head out to see who else had been looming around to speak with him.
"you come to make demands, too?"
make demands. he noted tiger's verbiage before shaking his head.
"all right, let's get this over with."
kid would almost hobble out the back door for a cigarette after his match when he’d noticed ishani already two steps ahead, mid-drag as she looked over to see who'd stumbled into her alone time. of course it was the monkey man — who else? she exhaled the smoke before speaking.
"i always feel sorry for kong. looks painful."
her voice seemed so much softer when directed at him, though maybe that was just the foreignness of them actually speaking to one another. kid took a moment to respond while restraining a wince from the shift in weight as he worked down the second step. “don't feel sorry, kong's 'the beast.'" ishani shifted to face him when he arrived at the third.
"is he, though? or is that just how he's made out to be?"
kid would have to pause once more in order to work through what she was saying — what the true meaning was hidden in the ambiguity — and more importantly what he was going to say back. he’d watch her take another drag with her eyes fixed on him, finally making it down to the final step before deciding to mirror her intentional vagueness. “does it matter by this point?”
the warm twinkle in her eyes ran cold upon hearing this response, now more of a troubled glint as she pulled her gaze from his silhouette trudging to lean against the brick. from her peripheral she could see him fishing for something in his pockets and her own free hand would subconsciously slip into hers, the other bringing the menthol back to her lips. “i think so…” she’d trail off, and for a moment, that was that.
and then he was the one to suddenly speak, his tone barely over a whisper after a long exhale of billowing smoke. “can i ask you something?”
“sure.”
“why’d you leave the door open?”
a deceitful smirk graced her lips as she took another drag in what he assumed was an act to postpone her answer. “because.” ishani hummed lowly, “i didn’t want you to think i was soft.”
this took him aback entirely. of all hypotheses he had conjured up over the last two hours to explain her varying demeanor, this was not one of them, didn't even make the list. kid's adams apple bobbed while he swallowed the hesitance in his vocal cords, her gaze returning to his just in time to catch this quirk.
"i don't."
the warmth in her eyes would return again after these words left his mouth, and though she would only smile in that sincere manner she had revealed all those days ago, it felt as though she wanted to say something; the corners of her lips twitching as her eyes flicked between his. how awfully he wished to hear it — her thoughts on his rare transparency — but ishani would remain utterly silent with the grin on her face fighting to show teeth. kid would grow timid quickly under the pressure of her gaze and silence, unintentionally prodding him to abruptly blurt out what he'd been poring over since the moment he'd left tiger's office.
“do you know ‘kings?’ the elite club in uptown mumbai?”
ishani’s brows furrowed as she shook her head. “no, i don’t think so.”
“well…” he took a breath in an attempt to navigate how to go about this, each explanation coming off worse and worse. he looked off to the skyline. “all the wealthy businessmen go there to pay for girls to laugh at their shitty jokes. if anyone could do it..."
there was a beat before her response that left kid out in the cold for the few milliseconds it took her to find what to say, the anxiety in his chest rising until an entirely unfamiliar sound eased his swirling worries, light and harmonious in the night chirping with crickets. he'd glance back over at ishani to find her restraining the giggles emitting from her throat with her pointer on her lips, eyes now looking back up at him as she smiled.
"you trying to pimp me out?"
her apparent delight would grow along with her grin as she watched his face flush with the unsure and somewhat nervous chuckles falling from his split lips. "that is what it sounds like, huh?" he'd look away to ash the dwindling cigarette between his trembling fingers "just wanna help, is all. promise."
ishani turned towards him even more now, inadvertently catching his full and undivided attention, though she simply pressed the butt of her dead cigarette into the brick. "see?" she spoke sweetly — knowingly as she took half a step toward the back door with a vivid twinkle in her eye, "kong's not as bad as people make him out to be."
and with that, she turned, filter in hand as she monitored him all the way to the back door. with her fingertips grazing the rusted handle ishani would offer one last salute towards the monkey man before finally heading back inside, leaving him alone against the brick to ponder their interactions once more. the absence of her response had his suspicion snowballing on how she'd taken the offer and, with another puff of tobacco, kid found himself accepting her subtle rejection.
— so imagine his shock the next day when he'd exited the kings' kitchen for a breath of fresh air only to find ishani doing the same.
"hey," she'd smile, a familiar glow in her gaze on the dumbfounded man "funny seeing you here."

Don’t forget about me
Pairing: Kid (Dev Patel) x Female reader
Warnings: Tears, blood and injuries, angst and a lot of smut
🔞+
Word count: 1,897
CRASH! That’s the sound u heard that awoke u from your sleep. It was a hot summer night. The only sound in your room was an old fan running at the highest setting and the crickets from outside. You turn to the window, shocked to see your nightstand chaotic with all your belongings knocked over, the window wide open, and you look to the floor to see Kid sitting under the window, panting and holding his side. “did I wake you?” He said through quick breaths. His eye closed from sweat getting in, and his other eye squinting at you. You looked at kid's hand clutching his side, realizing he was bleeding. “Oh my god, what happened?” you said, discarding your thin bed sheets, running over to the window, closing it, and pulling the curtain forward, squatting next to him to meet his eyes on the floor. You grabbed his face, looking for any more bruises out of the ordinary from what he would usually get in a fight. He had a slight cut above his eye and a bruise on his arm, but the worst was the cut on his side. At least you prayed it was just a cut. You quickly put your arm under him to lift him “quickly to the bathroom.” as he rose, he grunted.
“I’m assuming you did more than just fight tonight,” you said, focusing more on the needle penetrating his skin with the thread to close the open gage on his side. Cause him to grunt in pain and take a breath. Kid was leaning on the sink now with his shirt removed and his sweatpants hanging low on his hips with his damp hair covering his face, peering down at you. Your curls were pulled back, and all you had on was an oversized t-shirt. “I think I’m getting closer to finding him,” he said, his voice deep but calm. You finished sewing him up. “You're not even close to him yet, and you're already hurt. This can only end worse,” you said, looking him in the eye. You knew his situation, you knew who he was talking about, and you hated that his heart was this unsettled, but you couldn’t blame him. “Take a shower. It’s too late at night for you to go home, and seeing how you came through my window and not the front door, I’m assuming you're not safe,” you said, looking him in the eye and his deep brown eyes they held so much emotion and thoughts you knew he was exhausted.
You were in your bed, the hot air sticking to you. You recounted how you got here and met the Kid. You were conducting a research study on poverty and culture. The affects it has on different marginalized countries. That’s how you ended up in India. You meet Kid because you were snooping in places you weren’t supposed to be. You asked questions to some dangerous men. Kid who was secretly stalking you because he watched everyone in the community, he came in and saved you. Ever since he’s been in contact with you (it’s been three months, and you have one more month left), you felt the bed dip beside you.
Taking your eyes off the beige wall of peeling paint, you turned to see a kid in bed lying on his back, his hair wet from the shower. He didn’t have a shirt, a patch adorned his stitches, and he wore a pair of shorts you washed the last time he came over from one of his excursions . His eyes were glossy and heavy and slowly turned to you. “I have to do this. He didn’t even know her name.” His voice was heavy. You turned to place your hands on his face, your thumb caressing his cheek as the tears fell from his face.” “You’re gonna let this consume you, and I’m afraid of how this will end,” I whispered. He looked at you, his eyes saying everything. If I asked him not to hunt down the man who changed his life for the worse, he would have felt torn. I knew the idea of not getting revenge was too strong over choosing me. I let out a deep sigh, holding back my tears. “This will be our last night like this,” you said, your voice dry. You could feel the tears pooling in your eyes. Kid's eyes became heavy, his body rigid. He softly shook his head. No, he knew what you meant by it being our last night. You leaned over, slowly adjusting to the thick air. Your nose met his nose as we kissed. A deep sigh was released from him. He drew the kiss as he rose from the bed, placing his hand on your thigh, gripping your thigh. You let out a gasp. You could feel the textures of his scared palms on your skin and how rough and warm they felt on your skin, taking mental notes of how that felt cause you knew you wouldn’t be feeling this forever.
I kissed him harder before pulling away. “you gotta be careful; you still hurt.” Before I could even regain my breath, he was kissing me again roughly, causing me to whimper. He kissed me as though he knew the moment couldn’t last forever. I felt like I saw stars from how great the kiss felt. “ lay down,” you said softly. Kid looked at you. He lay back down on his back, Kid, usually quiet, but you could tell he was lost for words. You rose off of the bed a little bit to remove your panties as you sling your legs over his waist. You sat on top of his lap, and you felt his hands slowly move from the side of your thighs to grabbing your waist.
You slowly started to move on his lap, your core rubbing up against his clothed member, causing him to moan.” Shit,” he said, his voice dry. You're where grinding on him at a steady pace, trying not to to hurt him. You could feel his member growing hard with his shorts and you becoming wetter. You grabbed his chin to have him look him in your eyes as you leaning over him so you lips caressed his. His mouth opened softly, panting from the feeling you were stirring up within him. You started to move your hips faster. “ promise me you’ll be safe. You said, your lips touching his as he let out soft moans. “Okay, yes, okay,” he said, moaning, looking me in my eyes. “ when this is done, you come to me, okay? You know where I’ll be,” you said, looking deep into his eyes, knowing he understood exactly what you meant.” he nodded yes, breathing deeply. He grabbed you and flipped you on your back now on the mattress. His eyes darkened, and his body glistened with sweat. “okay,” he said before he grabbed the bottom of your shirt and removed it from you. He disregarded his pants. He lowered his head to her neck. His teeth lightly grazed your skin before he nipped at your spot, causing you to moan. As he teased the spot on your neck, moans slipped from your mouth. He started to work his way slowly down his body, leaving bites and kisses on the way down your body, leaving you to shiver as his warm
Lips touched your body you felt the breeze from the fan was in your room take away his warm kisses. Before you knew it, the kid had your legs open, and his hands wrapped around your leg. You gasped moan as you felt him drag his teeth down your inner thigh, kissing and licking your inner thigh. The sting causes you to gasp in surprise from pain, followed by pleasure. You realized he was leaving a hickie on your inner thigh. Uuuh, you said, putting your fingers in his hair near the nape of his neck. “Don’t you forget about me,” he said in a deep voice. Before you could respond, he was blowing on your clit before he went in for a kiss on your clit, causing your body to rise off the bed. You felt his tounge circle your clit back and forth back and forth at a fast pace.was he? Was he making out with your clit? “Please, please, you cried out as he started to suck on your clit. You could feel yourself becoming wet, pooling around his mouth and dripping down your legs. You started to move your hip, subconsciously gripping the sheets. You were panting. No words were coming out. The only sound to be heard was a Kid grunting and your panting, and the sound of the silver fan running in the room. You could feel your breath begin to form in your stomach. “dont stop,” you said, loving this feeling of a tear forming in your eye. “Please, you croaked.”’you could feel Kid doing everything, licking, kissing, penetrating you with his tongue. You were unraveling so fast. The feeling finally hit you, causing you to moan. You felt the release, and your head was dizzy. The air was thick—you were trying to gain your breath. Kid moved back up to your face and kissed your nose. “I’ll find you again, I promise he said, looking into your tear-stained eyes. He entered you without a second thought, looking you in your eyes cause tear-stained eyes were now blurred, and you rolled them at the feeling of him interning you. He grabbed your one leg and brought it to his hip. His hip was now controlling the pace going in you at a steady pace; you were kissing your mind. “Come for me again, okay he said,” as his pace became more demanding. My moan became louder, his eyes not leaving my mind as his face fell into
My face. I love you, Kid said, his brown eyes holding so many emotions. Promise me you’ll still want me, he said as he went faster. The feeling of his warmth inside of me made me bite my lip and moan, his hips moving at a faster pace. He wrapped my leg in his
Waist as his finger played with my clit he started to Let out a slow moan, “Say it,” causing me to gasp, clasping onto his arm. “I love you I said, strained, focusing on this feeling. My body had this sensation that I knew wouldn’t last forever, but I wish it could last a lifetime. As he’s playing with my clit and his hips are moving, I can feel his movements becoming erratic. He let out low grunts. “Shit,” I said, that feeling turning in my stomach agin my legs started to shake “im finna cum” I said, and he grunted in agreement. The feeling was powerful. The air was thick, and our moans were in sync. We both were coming at the same time. I wrapped my leg around kid and brought him
Closer to me, he came within me. I felt the warmth of him within me. He was panting, eyes big, looking at what we had just done. He removed his still-swollen member from me
Seeing both of our juices together inside
I am now pooling on the bed. “Now I have to
Come back to you,” he said, sitting on the bed and looking me in the eyes.

voltar para você
dev patel
Um flash branco atrevessa o céu e eu dou um pequeno pulo por conta do susto. Corro até a porta e aperto a campainha, esperando que alguém abrisse o mais rápido.
"Ah, s/n."
"Oi, Dev."
Dev, que agora é meu ex, me encarava com aqueles olhos marrons hipnozantes, me fazendo por alguns segundos esquecer a forte tempestade. Outro raio cai e rapidamente volto a realidade.
"Será que eu posso entrar?" - dou um sorriso.
"Claro que sim." - ele abre mais a porta. - "Kiara e Ravi, a mãe de vocês está aqui."
As crianças que antes estavam sentados de frente para a grande janela apreciando a chuva, correm em minha direção.
"Mamãe." - Kiara é a primeira a pular em meu colo. Logo Ravi te puxa para se sentar no sofá.
"S/n, nós vamos fazer pipoca e assistir alguns filmes, quer participar?" - Dev pergunta.
"Tudo bem, eu fico."
- "Eu chegando no altar e você me esperando com aquele terno verde magnífico."
"Foi o melhor dia da minha vida. Ver você chegando com o buquê nas mãos e aquele vestido que realçou mais ainda sua beleza, me fez sentir algo que nunca senti antes com ninguém."
"Posso me sentar?"
O silêncio volta a preencher a sala gigante. Dev encosta a cabeça em meu ombro e acaricio seu braço musculoso.
"Onde foi que nós dois erramos? Éramos tão felizes juntos..." - olho nos olhos dele.
"Sem você e as crianças fazendo bagunça nessa casa, eu me sinto tão sozinho."
O calor do corpo dele me fazia sentir tão bem.
"O que você acha de tentarmos novamente?" - o homem olha para mim parando o beijo.
De imediato fico sem reação, boquiaberta. Por um momento eu esqueci como se respirava.
"S/n, o que você acha?" - segura minha mão. - "Eu vou entender completamente se você não quiser tentar de novo. Só quero o melhor para você e para as crianças. Vocês são tudo pra..."
"Sim, eu quero voltar com você, amor." - abraço o moreno.
"Você tá falando sério?" - ele volta a examinar meu rosto.
"Sim, eu quero voltar a ser sua esposa. Quero voltar a dormir do seu lado e acordar com os seus roncos. Vamos tirar um tempo para a nossa família, viajar para lugares que nunca viajamos antes... e principalmente ter um momento só nosso."
Ele continua parado, me encarando.
"E-eu acho que não ouvi direito."
Reviro os olhos e empurro o seu corpo para se deitar no sofá. Coloco minhas mãos no seu peito, me sento em seu colo e me aproximo de seu rosto.
"Eu aceito ser sua esposa novamente."
Dev abraça minha cintura e volta a me beijar.
"Eu prometo que nunca mais vou deixar de estar do seu lado. Nunca mais."
sou apaixonada no dev e é triste não ter muitas fanfics sobre ele aqui. queria dizer que estou aceitando pedidos relacionados ao meu xuxuzinho dev.
espero de verdade que tenham gostado! ✨️

GIRL YOU ATE THAT AND I DEVOURED THIS FIC OMG!!!!
I can't believe you gave us a chudail OC fic! And a chudail OC x Gawain?! THE CROSSOVER! Perfect, perfect, perfect! No notes just wow. Your brain is amazing and this was such an amazing treat!
Loved all the forest imagery and also the cottage! Your imagery writing was so evocative in this piece!
I can't wait for the rest of this series, I'm seated and buckled in 💞💞💞
folklore
The battlefield was no longer visible in Gawain’s background when he crossed the threshold of a dark forest, dismounting at the stream so that Gryngelot may drink; Gawain led the horse to the water and then leaned down and cupped his worn hands together.
Before Gawain could drink, he felt the sharp point of a dagger pressed into his neck too late. A thief stood behind him; Gawain sensed another to his left with a club.
No words were exchanged.
The situation was clear. Gawain hurried to mount Gryn, but the sound of a bowstring stopped him dead in his tracks at the sight of the scavenger from the battlefield appearing in the copse of trees.
Gawain raised his hands in surrender, and the two thieves rushed him, kicking his legs out from under him, seizing his underarms, and forcing Gawain to his knees.
The scavenger reached behind Gawain's ear, pulled out the coin that Gawain gave him, and then flipped it in the air. “Weren't enough.” He gestured to Gawain's chest as the thief with the dagger pulled Gawain's knapsack from his shirt and cut the cord that held it around his neck.
The prince tried to escape, but the thief jammed the dagger back against his throat as the other thief with the club went to Gryngelot and began to untie the saddlebags, pulling the sword out of Gawain's scabbard and throwing it to the scavenger.
The Scavenger looked it up and down; he looked pleased to see such a fine weapon as he tossed it to the thief, who held it to Gawain's neck along with the dagger.
—
“I want auroras and sad prose,” A gentle voice’s song carried through the dark forest; A young woman in a simple white shift dress sat in the middle of her forest, worn hands holding a bowl to collect the sweet syrup that flowed out from the inside of the large tree she sat underneath, it’s large, colored leaves catching in her wild curls.
“I want to watch wisteria grow over my bare feet,“ The sound of pained cries filled the forest, slowing the witch’s song. “‘Cause I haven’t moved in years-“
“Please.”
“Please?”
A chorus of cruel laughter and taunts echoed from downstream that Kavya began to follow curiously, interest piqued as three silhouettes in the distance took on more detail the closer they came to her; A man in a persimmon-colored cloak was being hauled forcibly down the riverbank by highway thieves.
Kavya could watch in plain sight; she remained unseen to men’s eyes from the curse over the forest that kept her there.
The man in the persimmon cloak’s chest rose and fell with panic as he begged frantically with the thieves.
“You said you weren't a knight.” The scavenger accused with an upturned nose as the dark-haired man repeatedly tried to get to his feet.
“I’m not!” The dark-haired man cried, shaking his head frantically. “I’m not a knight!”
“-But you said you were.”
“I never said I was a knight,” Kavya couldn’t help but pity the man as his words tumbled over each other as he panted between panicked breaths. “You said I was a knight; I never said-“
“Smells like a knight.” The thief with the club inhaled deeply into the man’s hair as the scavenger lifted his dagger to rest upon his now tear-stained cheek, dragging it down his face until it clinked against the chainmail that stretched across his broad chest.
The scavenger then wandered over to the horse, passing Kavya by as if she did not exist; he saw an axe handle, grunting he tried to pick it up, but his attempts were in vain; motioning for his thief friend with the club to help him.
They try to move it together but cannot, while the man watches, knowing there is nothing he can do.
“Just tell me then,” The dark-haired man looked over his shoulder with tearful eyes, “Is there a really chapel?” The scavenger laughed and gestured to the trees, the stones,
the creek itself, the man’s eyes run over it all before resting on Kavya with a horrified expression.
-
Gawain was silenced, stripped of his armor, and bound at wrists and his mouth; The scavenger tied a rope around Gryngelot's saddle, trying to use him to pull the axe.
It didn’t seem to be working. Kavya frowned at the poor horse that may as well have gotten tied to a post. The horse’s owner struggled and screamed through his gag to warn them of the woman watching in the trees, but the thieves paid him no mind.
The sun moved lower in the sky. Shadows grew longer. The man was still bound but no longer struggling, having worn himself out. ‘The knots are too well tied.’ Kavya thought, waiting for the sun to set before she began to hunt.
Breathlessly panting through his gag, the man watched hopelessly as the thieves tried to pick the jewels out of the axe now, and it seemed not to be working.
Crickets were chirping as the sun sank into a redness past the trees.
The night was coming, and the man was now alone, still tied up, lying very still, axe laid on the ground; The thieves never managed to take it.
The horse grazed nearby; He looked at Gawain, then Kavya, and then wandered away, heading downstream and out of sight with the mystery woman following.
Gawain realized with a sinking feeling that he was now entirely abandoned. Despaired, he threw his head back, quite nearly weeping through his gag, thinking about his fate out there in the woods with the woman in the trees waiting.
—
Kavya followed a trail of fallen coins into the forest; Familiar voices grew louder as she came upon the two thieves and the scavenger, slowly walking up behind the brunette boy as he addressed his peers.
“I think I’ll finish his quest from here.” The scavenger said with a proud grin that slowly turned into a pained frown as he struggled to crane his neck to the left. To the horror of the two thieves, The scavenger’s neck began to bleed a waterfall down his chest as twin blood trails dripped from his eyeballs and nose.
The scavenger mindlessly reached out for the thieves, whose screams echoed in the forest as the fall of his corpse revealed a woman in a dress, smiling and dark eyes sparkling as she wiped the blood from her mouth and opened her mouth wide to reveal rows and rows of sharp teeth.
—
Meanwhile, Gawain was terrified of what the future might hold for him if he did not break free; A vision of his skeleton rotting throughout the seasons compelled him with newfound vigor, and he rallied his strength once more.
Laid there on his belly, panting, Gawain sees the axe; an idea occurs to him as he begins to squirm his way along the ground.
It's slow going, and Gawain knows he looks like an inchworm, flopping his way toward the axe; He makes it there and positions his body so the rope on his wrists catches ever so slightly on the axe blade and begins to rub the binding back and forth against the sharp edge, rope fraying until he sliced from the top of his thumb right down to his wrist.
Gawain cried out in pain, and it sounded unlike himself; blood gushed out, pooling in the dirt; recovering from the pain and working at it, Gawain heard a woman’s scream, followed by two more.
Finally, Gawain’s hands went free; he sat up
and squeezed his torn-open thumb. Again, that same woman’s scream made his blood run cold as he stumbled through the woods, following the burbling sounds of the stream as he looked for his horse.
Rapid footsteps made Gawain’s head snap up in fear as the two thieves came running toward him, screaming and crying like children as they rushed past him; the thief with the club ran head-on into a tree, his face connecting with the bark with a sickening thud as he collapsed to the ground, still and silent.
Heart pounding in his ears, Gawain’s slowly turned in the opposite direction to see what had made the thieves flee in such a manner; The same woman, who had endlessly long black curls, twisted and moved her body in a way Gawain had never seen.
The chudail reached her arms out as if she were beckoning someone into an embrace and inhaled deeply, throwing her fists down to let out that same scream that caused the thief, still on the run, to fall to his knees and shriek in agony, smacking his head repeatedly on the ground until he fell limp and silent like his friend.
The night that had fallen was dark and wet and cold.
The trees loomed like shadows around Gawain; He heard twigs snapping and the occasional growl.
A mist rose from the ground, lit by the light from an invisible moon; Gawain suddenly froze. Every hair on his body stood straight up.
A woman’s voice, softer now, humming a melody, mixing into the wind that led to a clearing and a bubbling spring,
Kavya slowed at the sight of the man in the persimmon cloak, Clutching his arms around himself for warmth; the axe clutched under his arm, his hand tied with what once was his gag, blood spilled all over himself.
‘Why is he not afflicted by me?’ Kavya wondered how he had ended up this way, hauled alongside the river with a head wound upon his forehead, seemingly immune to her magic as she tried to unleash another piercing scream upon him.
Gawain struggled to catch his breath, staring at the messy silhouette that looked back at him, blurred even more by the thin branches of the dark forest around them. “What are you?” He cried out, holding his axe out in fear.
Leaping back, Kavya concealed herself in the shadow of a nearby tree, holding her breath and reaching her hands up to cup her throat in confusion. ‘Have I lost my power?’ She began plucking her fingers in the open air as if playing the harp.
Gawain felt light-headed as his world went upright, eyes rolling into the back of his head as he fell unconscious. Kavya glanced around the forest for safety, wondering where this mystery man was traveling.
Briefly considering disappearing back to her cottage, Kavya dared to peer over her shoulder to try and make out the state of the vagabond, breathing a sigh of relief when it became apparent he would not awake any time soon.
A sigh left Kavya’s lips the longer she admired the man and his sharp, scruff-covered jaw and full lips, watching him with morbid fascination as she ventured further to stroke his mud-stained cheek gently. ‘He won’t last long with an injury like that,’ Kavya noted the dark blood patch covering his left temple.
Unable to keep down her curiosities, Kavya knelt beside the man’s head, letting her hand trail from the side of his dirtied face down to his torn tunic, revealing the bare expanse of his broad chest.
Splaying her hand across his dark skin, Kavya leaned forward until her cheek was pressed against his warm chest, dark curls falling over him as she held her breath to hear his heartbeat.
‘God,’ Kavya ran her finger down the length of the man’s large body, smiling when he did not stir as she draped herself across him and inhaled until his scent filled her senses, falling into the leaves and stretching out like a cat as she laid herself across him once more. ‘What are you?’ He was wholly male, but he wasn’t human; he felt like her.
Firmly patting the ground twice with an open palm, the man’s horse emerged from the dark, kneeling beside his master for Kavya to drag atop the horse’s back and take him into the pitch black of the forest.
—-
Two hands placing a cool rag on Gawain's forehead, and crackling fire and the smell of pine roused Gawain from his deep slumber, groaning as he braced his hand against the small cot he laid upon and pushed himself upright despite the ringing in his ears that told him to lie for a moment longer.
Looking down at himself, Gawain found he had been washed and dressed in clean bedclothes and tucked beneath the covers of a small cot in a candle-lit room.
Gawain ran a hand down his face; memory slowly returned to him as he looked around the cottage he found himself in; its walls were hewn together by various twigs and branches with bundles of sage hanging from them, and a large fireplace underneath a black, bubbling cauldron.
Rising too quickly, Gawain cursed and held his head when his forehead knocked against the ceiling. “Damn it.” His voice was hoarse, causing him to look for-
A relieved gasp left the prince’s lips as he seized a nearby bucket of water, not bothering with a spoon or cup as he downed its contents, even as water dripped down his tunic and soaked his beard.
Looking ahead, Gawain saw a door, realizing he was in a hut. Reaching out his right hand, Gawain paused when he saw it unmarked; his wound from cutting himself on his blade was gone, and his skin unblemished as if it had never happened.
Pressing an open palm against the door, it swung open to reveal the hut was a large stone cottage; an opening in the center lets the smoke from the fire in the center of the room escape.
Gawain glanced around as if he had been here before; Jars and pottery lined the shelves, filled with all manner of chemicals and liquids and other unsightly things.
The wooden bucket in his hands fell to the floor with a loud clatter as Gawain began to back away in shock at the sight of a chudail in the doorway. Beautiful, a woman of indeterminate age immediately, her eyes zero in on Gawain as if she had been expecting him.
Convinced that this chudail would snuff out his life, Gawain backed into the corner of the cottage with his broad shoulders squished against the narrow space and the woman peering up at him with an almost curious expression.
“You should sit.” Unable to speak, the chudail looked at him and motioned for him to enter. “You took a nasty fall,” Her voice was soft and gentle, a strange relief to Gawain after weeks of mistrust and exhaustion.
“The thieves broke this.” The chudail held up his broken shield, intricately painted by his sisters the night before Gawain took his leave from Camelot.
Gawain’s dark eyes locked on the axe, set down upon a long wooden table and unwrapped. The chudail leaned in close to the blade, putting her ear to it; it hummed strangely. “Like a tuning fork whose one note does not decay.” She rested her cheek against the cool metal; her curls splayed across it as she looked up at Gawain with sparkling dark eyes. “I hear no hex.”
Gawain was at a loss for words from this woman, there were a million questions on his mind, but the one that left his lips was not what he meant or expected. “Why did you take me from my quest?” The prince's tone came out in the tiny cottage, filling the space like a hot air balloon.
“I meant no harm.” The excited smile fell away from the witch. “You were bleeding on the forest floor,” Her curls fell on her face, voice shrank. “You would have died had I left you there.”
The anger faded from Gawain’s demeanor when the young witch began to rub circles into her palms, contrasting with the wraith he had witnessed in the forest. “You can leave,” she softly whispered, turning her face away.
Gawain would not admit it aloud, but after his brush with death, he was less eager to return to the forest and realized upsetting the woman, witch or not, was not the wise option for him.
“I am a traveler,” The prince in disguise furrowed his dark brows, “I have lost my way.”
Dark eyes widened in surprise, and Kavya’s head snapped up with a shocked expression “…What?” she questioned, surprised when he sat down beside her, clearing his throat and adjusting his chair. “Camelot. My home.” He explained, hoping the same charm he had used to bed Essel would aid him now. “I left it to go on a quest and have been led astray.”
“You must be exhausted.” The witch frowned sympathetically, resting her hand on his bruised arm. “Please sleep through the night, and I will give you safe passage out of the forest in the morning.”
The traveler nodded, suddenly bashful as he struggled to bow without upsetting his aches and pains. “I am Gawain.”
“I am Kavya.” The chudail bowed low to the floor, her handkerchief-like skirts splaying around her. “I am the witch of this forest.” She walked back to the room Gawain had awoken in, finding it magically remade and ready for him to rest. “I will be out here if you need anything.”
Kavya smiled as they bid each other goodnight, and she got into her bed, hugging her blanket and pretending it was Gawain. “Goodnight,” she bit her lip before speaking again, “Gawain.”
“Goodnight, Kavya.” Came Gawain’s voice from across the cottage; The witch had to tuck her face into her pillow to muffle an elated sound from hearing her name on Gawain’s tongue.
—
The bacon hissed as it met the hot pan; two more pieces joined it as soft humming began to fill the cottage, the sun rising and warming the small space.
Without looking, Kavya reached out to pluck two eggs from a nearby basket, cracking them against each other and opening the shells to empty their contents in the pan next to the bacon, her homemade spices sprinkled in between them.
The scent carried behind her to where Gawain lay asleep, rousing him from his slumber when one dark eye opened to take in his surroundings, reminding himself this was not home.
If this were his home, Gawain supposed the cottage wasn’t the worst place to be, primarily if it housed pretty girls who made him breakfast. “Good morning!” Kavya greeted cheerfully from her crouched position by the hearth. “I made breakfast,” she gestured outside. “Gryn has carrots, so you do not travel on empty stomachs.”
Gawain raised a dark brow. He did not remember telling the witch his horse’s name or nickname. Kavya winced when Gawain rose too quickly and hit his head on the top of the cottage, grumbling to himself as he sat beside her and began to dig in, realizing he had not had a hot meal, certainly not a home-cooked one, in a very long while.
“You do not have to tip-toe around me the way you do, you know.” Kavya gently chided the young man when he tensed after she moved to take her to drink, then reached out to pat his knee and swipe his remaining piece of bacon in the same gesture. “I promise not to bite.” She said with a teasing grin as she bit down on the meat, revealing rows of lovely sharpened teeth that Gawain found oddly alluring.
Gawain sat on the edge of a well as Kavya scooped water from a bucket with a gourd; she took a sip and then handed it to him, watching Gawain intently as his dark eyes wandered over the shelves that held her books. “Do you like poems?” She asked, rising and plucking a weathered blue text between a green and red one, holding it out to Gawain like a prize.
“I tried to.” Gawain shrugged, never one for hobbies such as reading or academics, more inclined to hunting or swordsmanship.
Kavya raised an unconvincing brow, a grin on the corner of her mouth. “Do you even know how to read?” She could not help but laugh at the incredulous look that crossed Gawain’s features.
“Of course I do!” Gawain became more flustered when his voice rose an octave higher, crossing his arms defensively and turning his face away like a displeased child. Opening one eye, his gaze drifted to a bemused Kavya. “Do I look like I don't?”
Kavya shrugged her exposed shoulders as if to say: ‘Maybe.’ “Tell me something,” She shifted closer to Gawain and propped her elbows atop the knees of her dress. “If you are a knight, and a knight is chivalrous above all else, why do you lie?”
“I am no knight.” Kavya nodded; it seemed to be this man’s favorite word. “So you say,” She toyed with her curls, trying to appear nonchalant. “Do you have a bride? Back home, where you came?”
Gawain immediately shook his head. “No. Maybe someday.” The image of Essel rose in his mind, and Kavya caught it in his face. “A lady?”
“At one time, yes.”
Kavya nodded knowingly. “So you do know something of love.” The prince became uncomfortable by the subject of questioning.
“A little.” Gawain finally looked at the witch for the first time; he couldn’t help admiring her willowy frame, the way her dress hung from her like a handkerchief, her long curls trailed to the ground but did not seem to bother her as Kavya pushed her hair back, giving him a good view of her sweet face and endlessly dark eyes. “Surely you know more of love than me,” He gestured to her, “Than a hundred of me.
Kavya threw her head back and laughed, the sweet sound filling the forest as she leaned far back over the well and placed a hand over her heart. “A hundred of you? What a scourge upon the land that would be.”
Reaching out, Kavya took Gawain’s face in both hands. “Come here.” With her thumb, she casually wiped the water from his lips; she then turned his head to the left and then to the right as if inspecting him.
“I suppose this is goodbye.” Gawain suddenly rose, adjusting his cloak, trying to come off as the traveler he had made himself to be to the witch despite the many signs he was not.
Kavya frowned and looked down at her intertwined hands, “I suppose it is.” She replied in a melancholy tone, looking out into the lonely forest she would be a part of once more.
The traveler in disguise couldn’t leave, as if his boots were stuck on the forest floor, and the strangest part of it all was that after all Gawain had witnessed Kavya do, he did not want to go.
“Thank you. Again.” Gawain bowed respectfully to the witch but did not waver from his spot, his fingers still looped loosely around Gryn’s reins. “I fear your hospitality will be too hard to leave.”
Kavya nodded, confused as to what was holding the man back, as he seemed so eager to take his leave only hours ago. “Can I see you again?” Her head snapped up from where she had been idly stroking Gryngolot’s mane, dark eyes widening with growing excitement.
Gawain avoided her gaze, unfamiliar to someone so pleased by his presence.
“Yes!” Kavya covered her mouth with her hands when her elated reply echoed through the forest, scaring a few birds. “Please, come back.” She smiled and smoothed out her skirts, pulling her hair over her shoulder to toy nervously with her curls. “I would like that very much.”
Nodding in agreement, Gawain hoisted himself upon Grin and looked back at the witch with a worried look. “How do I find you again?” Kavya only flashed him a mischievous grin as she began to back away into the arms of the forest.
“You will.”

Just watched Monkey Man and I can't recall the last time I've seen an action movie that was that overtly political. Like, it's set in India (the movie is in American/Canadian coproduction) and so it's somewhat distanced from the NorthAmerican context, but it's still very much a movie with a major plot point of the hero organizing an army of Hijras to murder the shit out of the chief of police, a corrupt conservative religious leader, and a bunch of transparent stand-ins for the BJP.
Also, it's really good.
#monkey man#dev patel#basically imagine John Wick but instead of celebrating all of the sleek high culture#the point is very much to destroy it

Much love 🖤❤️🤍💚
Kid and you were lying down, he was a man of few words, even in tender moments. But you weren’t bothered, you’re holding one of his hands with both of yours, running your fingers over him. Every side of his hands and then up his forearm, exploring every inch of skin. With each day of your relationship, you’d been able to warm up a part of him that had been shut off for so long.
He looked at you as you focused on his hands, your favourite body part of his. While you’d melted him, his hands and everything they could do had continued to melt you (in their special way) more and more each day as well. His brown eyes were warm as he took in all of you, how your eyes were fixed on his hands, the gentle touch of your hands, how the sweet smile you wear makes your full cheeks look, how your soft arms looked in the evening light. His beautiful personification of peace.
“Is it weird that I just want to be seen by you?” His voice is quiet, it often is, and there’s a vulnerable look on his face, his eyes searching for reassurance. There’s something so warm and comforting about being in this relationship but it’s an extremely new and vulnerable feeling for him.
“Not at all.” You whisper as you rub his wrist gently with your forefinger and thumb. “I see you.” you respond as your gaze turns to him and you smile.
He smiles at that, clearly feeling comforted in the unexplored waters he’s swimming deeper and deeper into each day. Kid moves and presses a soft kiss to your lips, slowly deepening it as he moves his hand out of yours so he can cup your full cheeks.
You’d initially relaxed easily into the kiss and were content with it, that was until he’d moved his hand. It was pretty rude considering it had been a strong fixation of yours lately, something he knew. “Hey,” you whispered, “I wasn’t done playing with your hands.” You whisper in a voice that sounds almost annoyed, he tries to distract you with another deeper kiss.
“Really?” His voice has a slightly playful tinge. “Do my hands belong to you now, jaan?”
“Yes. It’s in the relationship rules.”
“Well I better put them to good use, I suppose…” He leaned back and then sat on his ankles as he looked at you. “Because I don’t know where to put my hands...” He teases you but there’s a knowing look in his eyes. Oh, how those big brown orbs mesmerise and melt you.
Kid uses his knee to spread your legs out and then moves so he’s kneeling between them. He caresses your soft jawline for a moment, his fingers gently holding your chin for a moment as his free hand starts to run along your thick thighs. You breathe in a sharp inhale as you look at him, you know what’s going to happen but each cell in your body is buzzing with anticipation still.
You watch him with bated breath as he runs his fingers along the sensitive skin of your inner thighs, his eyes are looking at his hands as he explores this intimate area of you. His hand that had gently been holding your chin let go, letting his fingers fall, travelling over your chest, where he gave your left breast a squeeze that made you gasp and bite your lip.
His hands then glide along the smooth, softness of your round stomach he runs his fingers along where stretch marks and moles are and he takes a soft breath in as he looks up at you. He moves his hand over to palm you above your underwear, you let out a small whine and your head falls back. His left hand massages the plump flesh of your thigh as he continues to palm and move his hand along above your underwear, teasingly.
“Please…. Please…” You beg in desperation as your hips thrust up to try and meet his hand. To be buried against it, in desperate need of more friction and pressure. A need only he can satisfy.
He can hear the neediness in your voice, he can feel it radiating off of you, and he can feel it against his hand. He quickly pulls your underwear down, lifting one of your legs slightly so it’s off and just hanging around the other one. He moves his hands closer to your needy hole, dancing around your inner thighs for a moment. You breathe in shakily as the feeling almost tickles.
You watch him as he palms you once again, his other hand is now gripping your round hips, starting to run his fingers around your vulva, slowly along your folds to tease you, watching your reaction. Amazed at the power he has over your body, his ability to please you with just his hands. His fingers were touching every part of you but your hole that wanted to swallow him, or your clitoris.
Kid can see the need in your eyes, how you're looking at him letting out soft moans and gasps as he teases you.
“Look at you, good girl… such a good girl…” He whispers in that voice that makes you let out a small whine as he rubs your bundle of nerves in a circular motion with his thumb.
He continues and then slips a finger into your hole, it’s barely in, just a teasing taste as he watches you. Drinking in your reaction, the way your back arches and then comes back down as your hips thrust up to try and swallow more of him, to feel him deeper inside of you. Kid obliges and quickly moves his finger in deeper which pulls the sweetest moan out of you that makes him smile.
You let out a chorus of moans growing louder as you feel him move his finger deeper and deeper as he moves it back and forth, it’s at this point that he inserts another finger which makes you whine and close your eyes. It’s an incredible sight to him as he watches this. He moves his fingers at the most perfect rhythm that he knows will bring you closer.
He moves a hand to squeeze your breast again, to run it along your nipple as he keeps pumping his fingers in and out of you. You’re whining as it’s building up deliciously, in an overwhelming way. He brings his hand back down and he starts to give your clitoris more attention again, just as it deserves. He rubs your clitoris faster, applying a little more pressure which makes you cry out. “Does that feel good? Do my hands feel good? Is this what you wanted, what you were thinking about before?” He asks as he keeps going faster and building to that rhythm that he knows is going to make you release.
“Yes! Yes! Yes!” You whine out as you nod frantically, you have one hand gripping his shoulder as he keeps moving. All you can think of is his touch and you know you’re on the edge, he’s bringing you there and you’re whining louder. “Go on, be a good girl…” He says as he keeps this current pace of pumping, he’d slipped a third finger in and he’s now giving equal attention to both your sweet spot of nerves and your vagina equal attention. He’s urging you to release, he knows your close. You nod and whine out as you know you’re almost there. He continues and it feels perfect, your back starts to arch as you feel your eyes roll back as you claw his shoulder and come. You come hard and it’s perfect, equally what you knew his hands would give you. Exactly what you’d been fantasising about as you’d held his hands earlier.
You let out a deep breath, Kid gives you some time to recover from that release but he spends the rest of the night praising you as he gives you exactly what you wanted. Showing you just how he can use his hands and how good they feel.

Hellooooo, I hope this ask finds you well! If at all possible could you do some form of drabble of Kid with his obvious thing for biting?
He’s cute.
You already knew that, but it does bear repeating. He comes to see you every now and again, more frequently now. It’s good to have him here with you, hiding away from the world. His face is resting against your belly, breathing softly while you tease his hair.
The rain had stopped some time ago, but the humidity in the air left the two of you sticky in more ways than one.
The light is low, but just enough to cast a gold light into your room. He shifts, and you see two round eyes looking up at you.
You raise an eyebrow at him, daring him, just a little. Take a bite, if you want.
He rolls you to your side smoothly, taking some of the flesh of your shoulder between his teeth. He doesn’t bite down, not really. He just keeps you there for a minute, before working his way down again.
He seems a bit happier after he gnaws on you, he’s a beast sometimes, but not here.
You gasp when his mouth works down to the meat of your ass. His teeth grip down harder.

film: monkey man (2024)
synopsis: following his suggestion of working at kings, kid runs into ishani and manages to stumble his way into a late-night drinking game, finding himself already caught up in her alluring web by the time he remembers why he was there in the first place.
word count: 4.2k
featuring: kid, (oc) ishani, alphonso, queenie mentioned, chief rana mentioned
warnings: drinking, physical violence (pretty tame this time!)
a/n: part 1 if you so please :3 happy to have this up
with a heavy sigh and a bandaged hand swiping at stray hairs, 'bobby' exited the kings' kitchen for a breath of fresh air away from the bleach he'd been inhaling for the last 30 minutes, fingers tender and raw pulling at his collar as he stepped into the back alley. his watery-eyed vision met the white grout of the building next door and kid could finally smell something other than the burn in his sinuses — namely the sweltering garbage bin baked in the heat all day — almost closing his eyes entirely as he pressed a shoulder against the wall to support his tired muscles.
"hey,"
the soft yet abrupt voice emanating from his left nearly had him flinching back inside, brows narrowed and eyes wide as he found a familiar face staring back, though her abnormal clothing almost put them back at square one — strangers. to be fair though, they still were only strangers. right?
"funny seeing you here." ishani hummed, a knowing glow in her gaze as she shifted in her elegant but uncomfortable-looking gown. "i didn't know pimps wore aprons."
a joke. kid flashed the slightest glimpse of a smile as he took a step in her direction though his gaze pulled to his shoes, nose pointed down at the cement whilst he squeezed life back into his fingertips. "only the best." he replied. kid swore he could hear her smirk grow into a grin.
"oh, so the monkey thing is just moonlighting, huh?"
he meets her eyes once more to truly witness that smile before attempting to match her warmth. "actually...it's the grunt work;" he says, still starkly monotonous and solemn compared to her consistent and outward congeniality. now a step closer to press his back into the wall, kid pinches the thick strap of fabric over his shoulder with his good hand and forces his lips upwards. "the apron."
"i see...well, don't tell anyone but," she leans toward him in a strained whisper, "i'm doing the same."
there's a smile finding its way to his lips again, coming easier to him as he nods like a swear to secrecy. with his palm pressed to the wall and a suppressed grumble in his throat kid sits beside her on the concrete. "i didn't think i'd see you here."
"did i give you that impression?" her question sounds accusatory — it is accusatory — and yet he can't seem to find a hint of hostility in her tone, the imprint of a grin still lingering in the corners of her mouth. he's shaking his head before he even knows what to say.
"just thought i went about it wrong. i didn't expect to see you here so soon, at least. how'd you find queenie?"
"...literally? or...?"
still playful, ishani trails off to watch his split lips upturn once more before she actually answers his question, the echoes of 'why?' lingering in the back of his mind.
"yeah, she's — uh..." she taps her brow with two fingers in a lazy salute "major bitch."
"i have to agree with you there. it's kind of...admirable in a way, though."
"to be that much of a monster all the time and still have everyone bow down to you? i'm jealous."
"that, too."
kid can feel the lull in conversation looming above his head once she turns to mirror his position and, a man of few words, finds anything to say in an attempt to avoid the (typically comfortable) silence. "so..." he starts, finding the words along the way "how's the night been?"
with his own eyes on the brick and focus on his peripheral, kid notices the pause before her response, an atypical quirk in her mannerisms. even through the very minimal interactions they'd had, kid did not understand her to be someone with a buffering time before her response — she always knew what she was gonna say and did it in a far timelier manner than himself — so this delay in her reply had him holding his breath.
"honestly;" she starts off like a warning — as if to offer the opportunity for him to skip this dialogue — "harder than i expected. worse than expected."
kid has to clench his jaw to ground himself in his seat, to disregard the imagery of absolute chaos flittering around the foreground of his mind and focus on the now. it wasn't hard to guess what exactly she meant. the tired-looking man nodded and swallowed thickly to rid the lump in his throat.
"sorry." he didn't know what else to say — how to express some semblance of understanding or sympathy. he sounded almost like a guilty child.
"it's okay," ishani stands with a heavy sigh and a grumble as she swats the strangling locks of curly hair over her shoulders. "work is work. right?"
wet eyes angled up at her from his place against the brick, kid silently nods in agreement, watching how her kindred smile returned along with the enigmatic sparkle in her eyes while she moved toward the back door. she offers one last salute with her hand on the knob before disappearing back inside.
"i'll catch you in the ring, monkey man."
and that she did, of course; her floor-length gown traded for skintight spandex as she made her circles around the ring with her signature smile and that stupid sign. the beast was beaten bloody as per usual and, though he was always rigged to lose either way, ishani could have sworn he was more distracted tonight.
the thing was — while she was no fighter herself or anything — it wasn't hard to tell that he could fight. he knew how to throw a hefty right hook and he was quicker on his feet than most of the bulky hogan rip-offs, so he could win if ever given the chance. (not that tiger would even consider it.)
some nights ishani hoped — even believed — that the beastly kong would finally grow sick of being the losing dog and show rhino or khan or cobra a taste of their own pulverized medicine. but her faith was always in vain, always ending with the monkey man flat on his back spitting up thick, frothy blood through the mask.
ishani typically didn't dare follow after him to see the aftermath — not that she could, anyway, usually stuck at the ring to congratulate the false winner — but something about their previous conversation instilled her with confidence tonight. enough so, in fact, that she would find herself inching into the locker room to look for the battered man without half an idea of what she'd say.
he was sitting alone with his back turned when she entered, grime and sweat covering every inch of skin she could see, drenched curls shaking with each wince as he wrapped his hand. for a brief moment ishani contemplated turning back — totally disregarding the intrigue as well as the blood smeared along his forehead — and then she was diving in headfirst with the tap of her knuckles to the tile wall. the monkey man shot a narrow-eyed look over his shoulder before he realized who it was.
"sorry." she echoed his earlier sentiment, though (as usual) she had a little more to say while taking chary steps forward. "i don't always mean to scare you."
kid endured two more heaving breaths before offering his own flat-affected quip. "sometimes?"
sitting beside him on the metal bench with a restrained grin, ishani has to force her prying eyes from his hands, landing instead on the gash above his brow. "sometimes." she affirms with a teasing shrug.
"good to know..."
a beat passes before she's then clearing her throat, her own hands visibly trembling in the corner of his vision. it was the mousiest he'd ever seen her — uncharacteristic of this woman who'd literally stormed into his life — and though he'd tried to conceal the heap of bruises in his skin by keeping his head down, kid couldn't help but look up to analyze her uneasy features.
"um...you know...i still feel bad for kong. every time, honestly. i uh — i wanted to know — i was wondering — do you think a beer would soften the blow a little bit?"
even ishani looks wary of the proposition, looking away to shrug once more with a small voice. "maybe...tonight? on me?"
a mere glimpse of his bloody smile leaves the anxiety swirling in her chest as nothing more than a need for oxygen, lungs expanding to their full capacity while his creased features smoothed out all skepticism. he looks back down at the blood on his shoes and ishani swears she hears a low chuckle before he asks, "how does 12:30 sound?"
"sounds perfect." she has to remind herself not to appear too delighted.
looking at them now, not one person in this dingy bar would believe what they did for work — the absolute hell they endured all day just to end up at a dim booth in their 'regular people clothes' (as she called it) for a late night beer.
"i'm getting red — i can feel it."
"it's not bad."
they were already halfway through their plans, ishani's cheeks graduating from a warm pink to a full-fledged crimson as she met the midway point of her drink. "you're a liar" she'd chuckle before collecting the sweat on the glass in her palms to then press to the flushed skin.
kid hides his smile with another sip from his own mug. "it's your half now." he says, nodding towards hers before wiping the froth from his mustache.
"oh, come on, man! i still barely know you."
"i still don't know you at all."
with a proud smirk ishani slouches back in her seat, arms folded over her chest as if to protest the shift of power over to him. "you know my name" she suggests, noting how his eyes narrowed before realizing the tell of what her next question would've been — as well as the fact that she was technically wrong; he didn't know her name. he knew ishani.
"okay," the flush-faced woman relented "maybe not my name, per say..."
"chalo, i'll start out easy."
"unlike me?"
he chuckled. "unlike you." with a feigned sigh of surrender and another shift in her seat, ishani tucked away any stray hairs from the rats nest of a bun on her head and readied herself for the slew of questions (and answers) that would follow.
"alright." she hummed, "shoot."
he was the one to wiggle in the booth now, lifting his elbows from the table to mirror her distance before asking the first thing that came to mind — that is, the first thing in mind that was easy to answer; "where are you from?"
"korea." she stated plainly. kid's brows jumped in surprise at the distance. "oh. long way from home...what brings you to india?"
he can see the contemplating reflection in her eyes letting him know that this follow up was in fact not an easy follow up, nimble fingers raising to brush the already-tucked hair behind her ear. "just like you said; long way from home."
"i see. when did you get here?"
"india? or mumbai?"
you'd think he was still the one in the hot seat with how his mannerisms became asynchronous as he navigated which route to go, head shaking whilst he shrugged. "um — mumbai." ishani simply smiles.
"maybe...two weeks before i started at tigers? but i'd been in india for almost a month by then."
he nods now, pausing briefly with pursed lips before his following inquiry. "so...why'd you leave korea?"
there is a brief moment where ishani looks off to think about her answer with a telling grin — or grimace, he couldn't tell — before she's suddenly reaching for her mug to raise it towards him. "cheers" she replies before taking a sip. kid is chuckling again.
"enough said. well, how are you liking it here so far?"
"it's nice! it's certainly different from what i'm used to. and i guess every country's like this but — it's nice seeing all the land and cultures. — and the food, of course."
"do you have a favorite?"
finally, a question that ishani visibly wanted to answer, the corners of her mouth turning upward as she sifted through the choices on her tongue. "jalebi is pretty addicting, but i've had an issue with gulab jamun recently. i just can't stay away from it."
"oh, so you're a sweets person?"
his shoulders drop half an inch when she laughs. "that and — anything is good fried; i'd eat a rock if it was smothered in oil!"
with his own dry laugh caught under his breath like he still had to tiptoe around her, kid takes another gulp of the earthy beer to postpone the buffering time he and only he expended on finding what to say next. it was so strange to him — how the silence of life he'd grown close with felt so overwhelming when it came to ishani — and how she never seemed to shy away from saying something, even if it was the uncomfortable questions both parties knew would be left unanswered.
and yet, she asked anyway, leaving them both inebriated a lot quicker than if they hadn't decided on this drinking game. maybe it was a good thing, though; her intimidating boldness. perhaps if they'd just spoken like normal people kid wouldn't've had the guts to tell her about his childhood under the trees and, in turn, wouldn't have seen the way she leaned in to listen. perhaps, even, if they'd just spoken like normal people, it wouldn't have been apparent enough to notice that they were not 'normal people.'
but they did go this route — avoiding questions with a swig of beer, indirectly indicating each and every bit of information they withheld, making it evident to the other just how much they had to hide. and though he would've been offput by the ambiguity between them had the roles been reversed, ishani remained seated before him with an endearing and honest smile, red-faced and far more candid than ever outside the walls of their workplaces.
with the lick of his beer-slick lips and a leap of faith into her outward hospitality, kid sets his elbows back on the table to ask what he actually wanted to know. "so..." he starts slowly "what brought you to tiger's temple? i can't imagine that was your first choice."
"you're right; it was not my first choice, but i'm used to..." her nose scrunches while she searches for the words "biting the bullet, i guess. — plus, sex sells, and you needed a ring girl. it just kinda...worked out...in a way."
ishani's hesitant cadence almost sends him reeling back to the surface but the steadfast attention trained on his every word has kid's mouth moving before his brain. "so that's why you ended up going to kings? just another bullet to bite...in a way?" for a moment he's worried he'd said too much, and then ishani's mischievous giggle lures him back in.
"in a way. had i known about queenie i probably would've thought about it a little longer, though."
"understandable." he's letting his own laughter out now, tired eyes and smile panning to his glass. "i probably should've mentioned that."
ishani leans forward to grab her drink again and paused to answer before she took another sip. "it's alright, i can deal. i just don't understand how — how she's so angry alll the time. it can't be good for her blood pressure."
"i mean...aren't you?" it seemed like an easy question to him — it was an easy question for him, and yet she hesitated.
“honestly?”
there it was again — the warning for him to maybe interrupt her or stop her from saying something with substance — and just as he had before, kid only tuned in further.
“no.” she says quietly. “just tired.”
these would be the words that truly stuck with the monkey man well after their last goodbyes outside the bar — even more so than the 'maybe we can do this again sometime' offered by ishani before she turned to walk home — and he'd catch himself internally mulling over this response throughout the day whenever there was a breath of silence. whether he was drying dishes or tossing out the trash, kid thought about what this response said about her deep down — how all of her seen or unseen experiences led to fatigue instead of fury. and it baffled him.
it came to the point where kid finally noticed how much space she took up in his mind only after stepping into queenie's office to pour her tea, overhearing something about chief rana that brought him right back to reality. simply hearing the name of this man chilled his blood and effectively reinstated his fervor for the scheme bubbling inside that had his scarred hands subconsciously balling into fists. the consistent hum of ishani within his skull subsided shortly to make room for the actual reason he was here and by the time he thought of her again, kid was ready to do whatever he needed to get back on track. even if it meant clamming up on the new acquaintance.
and yet, in spite of his decision to lapse back into strangers, kid saw her once again while exiting the back door of kings to head to tigers. he was entirely prepared to give her the cold shoulder — to practice mercy and sever any ties he'd stumbled into, relieving her of the horrors to come — and then he saw how her face lit up once she spotted him. how cruel.
"hey" ishani smiled, striding closer with both hands in her hoodie pocket. kid has to look forward as to not get caught back in the loop.
"hey. today alright?"
"yeah..." her voice is high like she's unsure — like she's questioning her own response. "busy, but alright. what about you?"
he starts out carefully, reworking how he'd normally respond into a version that kept her at an arm's length, holding strong in his attempt to refocus on the end goal.
"uh...pretty much the same..."
he trails off, spending half a second to debate whether or not he'd tell her about the discussion with their coworker before making the fatal mistake of looking into her eyes — his white-knuckled resolve lost entirely once he found her gaze.
"have you met alphonso?"
ishani's eyebrows furrow together at the sudden shift in conversation, though she plays along. "no, i don't think so."
"good." kid sighs "alphonso works under queenie — short guy, s'got a limp — he'll be in the stands tonight."
"okay...why are you telling me this?"
for the first time between them thus far ishani is looking at kid suspiciously, visibly distrusting and aware of something being off despite not knowing what, exactly. it was almost frustrating to him, how he struggled to stay on guard around her — and even more frustrating how well she read him. he looked forward once more.
"just...keep an eye out for him. he's alright, just — don't be shocked if he comes up to you."
ishani was left acutely unsettled by this vague warning — especially considering the lack of explanation and increase of idiosyncrasies in the monkey man's demeanor — but without a prior reason to mistrust she had no choice other than to take it on the chin and keep her eyes peeled for the aforementioned 'alphonso.'
after entering the ring ishani spent the entire first round scouring every inch of the bleachers and making uncomfortable eye contact with patrons in the stand before she finally gave up on the guessing game. by the 3rd and final round, she had all but forgotten about the beastly kong's disclaimer in favor of looking away at the right time to miss his assault. the fight concluded without a hitch and by the time she began closing everything up, ishani was already basking in the relief of missing out on an uncomfortable conversation.
— and then, low and behold, ishani's eyes would catch on a man with a limp approaching while she wrapped up the chord to tiger's microphone. with a plastered-on smile and a bated breath ishani internally prepared herself for the worst and awaited his word.
"hello, madam." the curly-haired man grinned like he knew something she didn't.
"hello, sir. can i help you with something?"
he stops about a foot and a half in front of her with narrow eyes on her features and a never-ending grin, index finger raised to point at the ring girl. "you're ishani, right?"
"that i am. what can i do for you?"
"what is this?" he asks with a dry chuckle "you two masterminding some laundering scheme or something?"
ishani's head is tilting as she hears his question, a lone, incredulous "what?" being her immediate reply. he laughs again.
"you know — mister bobby."
bobby...there was a fighter here whose real name was bob, though he got pretty upset whenever someone called him that. ishani modestly shook her head as she set down the thick cord to instead place her hands on her hips. "no, doesn't ring a bell. sorry." honestly, she was just ready for the conversation to be over.
"the monkey?" he continues, and it only takes a second before she's put the pieces together and working up a response. "oh!" she exclaims with a giggle to postpone her explanation.
"i'm sorry, i'm not familiar with a lot of our fighters by name."
he nods with a laugh of his own, though she can't tell which part is particularly funny. "well, could you give him a message for me? tell him alphonso says 'it's a done deal.'"
"of course." ishani is clenching her jaw as she smiles, goosebumps raising the hair on her arms. "i'll let him know."
alphonso promptly presses his palms together in thanks before he turns to leave, dropping one last line that had heat rushing to her face while he walked away.
"thank you, miss seo."
she was turning on her heel to run into the locker rooms the second he was out of sight, surveilling the barren space with her heart in her throat only to find the monkey mask hanging on its usual locker door. with the only noise being the few other guys' hushed discussions and the echoed water from a faucet in the bathroom, ishani places her bets and rounds the corner with a clenched jaw, back pressing into the adjacent wall as she watched 'bobby' run his index along his molars before noticing her in the mirror. he's removing his finger from his mouth to spit a glob of blood into the porcelain as she clears her throat.
"so, alphonso came by." she says in a stern voice, the usual warm timbre found when she'd spoken with him up to this point gone and replaced with a tangible distance lodged between them. "said to tell bobby that his deal was done."
kid turns to face her as he leans against the sink and she swears his gaze held more weight, like he had to really concentrate to look her in the eyes. "he say anything else?"
she simply shrugs. "just if we were in on some laundering scheme or not..."
it was both a blessing and a curse that they read each other so well up till this point, both sides positively certain without a shadow of a doubt that the other had ulterior motives lurking below the surface. there is a moment of silence that leaves them suspended in limbo — both preparing their own play in wait for the other — before ishani takes it upon herself to speak again. since he wouldn't.
"i was thinking about getting a drink tonight. wanna come?" even her presentation was different, a cunning edge weaved into her words and tone. kid's not sure what to make of it.
"sorry, not tonight."
she nods with a pursed lip and her eyeline falls to her shoes. "i see. well, maybe some other time."
"yeah." he says, "we'll see."
and with that, ishani's got all she needs. she knows what he's doing as well as he does, and though it was frustrating and (naively) hurtful, who was she to make him be friends with her? were they even friends anyway? — whatever. didn't matter.
she doesn't even make an effort to respond before she's turning to leave him at the sink, jaw screwed tight as to disregard the burn in her nose or the prickling at her eyes. maybe it was just nice to know someone — to not feel entirely alone in this huge country with double the population — but she'd managed just fine all by herself, even now, so was it really a big deal?
'no.'
she decides when crawling into bed for the night, the blisters on her heels burning with every other shift and turn.
it wasn't a big deal, but it was nice while it lasted. — he was nice...
whatever. she just hoped she could avoid him the following workday.

Mera naam... (Monkey man Kid X Reader)
A/n: uhhhh idk if I like it as much as coconut & honey but enjoy!
'you should never lie'
his mother once told him with angry eyes that he hated to see so much. When Kid was just 8 years old, he had lied to his poor mother about going to play near the river just in front of their humble home, instead, going off far away into the market because he wanted to buy the bangle she's been eyeing for a while.
He's been a proper good boy, he swore, he helped Mr Deepesh, their next door neighbour, by cleaning up his chicken coop for money. He didn't mean to worry her.
'You shouldn't lie to the people you love, even when you think it's for a good reason, a lie is a lie,' she had worriedly say while hugging her boy to her chest.
He didn't think those words would haunt him 20 years later. Kid didn't even mean to lie to you, he didn't even mean to fall for you, but he had, and his lies only bury him into a deeper hole.
"Bobby? You're ready to go?" your sweet voice snapped him out of his thoughts, the beer he's been nursing while you pack up the kitchen still in his hand.
"yeah," he nods, giving you a small smile. You wrapped your hands around his arm so easily as if you've been doing it for years, in reality it's only been 4 months.
4 months of lies
4 months of love
His mind wandered back to how he got here, with your hands wrapped around his arm, heading for your motorcycle. Was it that night? When he first entered his shift, he noticed you eyeing him. He didn't think much of it, you were a chef after all. You could've just been curious about the new staff.
Was it when he keeps staring at you too? Unintentionally?
But it's definitely when you start smiling at him. He's never had any other thought than revenge then this.. You... You happened.
"hey handsome, where's your mind travelling to?" you asked so sweetly he didn't even mind. Kid didn't know much about himself but he knew he hated when anyone else interrupt his thought process, not you though, never you.
Kid smiled and shook his head. "nowhere, right here," he covered it up with a quick peck on your lips and took your helmet from you, placing it onto your head and pinning it on for you, then with a stupid smile on his face he lifted the visor to boop your nose. You chuckled.
Fuck, is this love? This overwhelming feeling over the slightest thing you do?
He put on his own helmet and got on the bike, waiting till you get on too. His waist never felt so empty until you wrapped your arms around them.
4 months ago he didn't even have his own room, now he's heading to "our store" getting off the bike and ordering "the usual" and going straight to "our spot"
He doesn't even know who he is anymore.
Your kiss on his lips brought him back to reality.
"congrats, baby, on making it to VIP floor." you said with a smile on your lips.
If only you knew why he wanted to be on VIP floor so bad.
"thank you, jaan," he whispered softly, arms around your waist, swaying left to right lightly as if dancing to a song. He leaned down and kissed you again. "what's this? What's wrong?" damn you, you always somehow knew, your finger tracing his eyebrows as if to pull the frown out of his face.
He didn't know what to say. Tell you what? He's not at all who you think he is? He's plotting to kill a man? Burn the hotel? Kill one of the most influential fucking man in India?
"hey, you can tell me, Bobby, I'm here," you called that name so lovingly he had to physically fight from flinching.
In a perfect world where he isn't such a coward he'll open his mouth and tell you the truth but the truth is he's just that, a coward.
"i swear it's nothing, jaanu, just... Tired," he smiled and hugged you burying his nose in your neck, scared that he'll forget what you smell like once you find out who he is.
Your fingers snaked into his curls, playing with them like always, like it's yours, like he's yours.
"I've got you, always," you whispered into his ear, planting a soft kiss after.
He hope you meant that
Because after almost 2 months of disappearing, hiding from the police in the temple with the hijras, he's back, at your house, knocking.
You opened the door, you looked great but your eyes looks almost dead, somber.
"jaanu," that's all he could whisper, seeing you again is...
You tried to close the door but his reflexes made him able to hold the door open.
"please, please just let me explain myself"
You looked at him and scoff. "explain what? I don't even know who you are, what could you possibly say to me? What was your plan? Kill Rana and pin it on me or something? Is that it?" your voice gets shakier and shakier by each sentence, your grip on the door loosen. Kid quickly shook his head.
"no, no, never, jaanu," he had wrapped his arms around your crying figure, his body is half through the door, cupping your cheek and tenderly caressed your tears away.
"I trusted you! I loved you!" you cried out and all he could do was hold onto you while you smack your fists on his chest again and again.
"I know, i know," he whispered, he lead you inside as you limped against him.
On the couch he held you, tighter than usual, he lets you cry onto his chest, not caring about the condition of his shirt.
"you didn't call, you didn't explain, you just vanished, I thought you fucking died!" you cried out.
"I know jaan, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" thats all he can offer. He kept whispering apologies and sweet nothings into your ear until you end up falling asleep on his chest. He laid you down on the couch, planted a soft kiss on your forehead and went to the kitchen. Skillfully manoeuvring through your kitchen, making a meal as he's been there countless of time. He didn't keep track of time, only glancing at the clock when he hears a croak of your voice calling his 'name'.
"I'm here jaan," Kid said walking towards the couch to see your eyes teared again.
"I thought you left again," you said with a whine in your voice, he sat next to you, arm pulling your towards him to kiss your head. "I'm here," he repeated.
"I went to make you some food, it's pretty early I don't think you've eaten," he explained, you simply nodded.
"I... I want you to explain to me who you are and what's happening." you said voice beyond tired.
"my name isn't Bobby,"
"yeah no shit," you scoffed, he only nodded, he's glad really, you're letting him hold you, touch you that's a good sign, right?
" my name... Is Kid. I worked at Queenie's hotel because I'm... Plotting revenge on Rana and Baba shakti. For killing my mother." his voice grew quieter and quieter. The obvious pain in his voice when he mentioned his mother.
"my hands," you looked at those hands, his scarred hands he meant, the ones you would plant kisses on after a night of passion, the ones you loved so much. "they got hurt when I tried to put out the fire my mother was set on... By Rana Singh," he said, face grew harder, voice turned colder.
You stared into his eyes. "Kid," you tried calling his name. He looked at you, all attention on you as if nothing else matters.
"I swear I didn't mean to rope you into this. I didn't mean to hurt you, I couldn't... I couldn't stay away from you, I tried. You consume me, my thoughts, I've never thought of anything else but revenge all my life and you walked into it and make me feel alive again. As if I could have any other life than just death after revenge. I never wanted to live but when I hold you I feel this fear of death that I've never felt before. Understand that all was real, my feelings for you was real, is real," he begged, his hands on your cheeks again.
"but you tried to kill him anyway, why?"
He shook his head. "when I saw him. When I saw that bastard I lost it. Why does he get to live his life while my mother is ashes somewhere on the forest floor?" he grunted, face angered.
You do what you always does, your finger start tracing his eyebrows, his face visibly soften. Like he could breathe again. He took your other hand and kissed it, leaning into your touch. He had been craving you, and you knew. "you're going after him again aren't you?"
"yeah" was all he could breathe out.
You sighed but you understood. The rage he has, it's all he knows.
"will you come back?"
His face lighten. "you want me to?" he asks, hopeful.
"always, always come back to me."
"but I'll be a fugitive by then," he said worried, he's not sure worried that you'll change your mind or that you'll be a fugitive too if you chose to follow him.
You shook your head. "I don't care, come back, we'll run together, I rather not live without you by my side. But Kid.."
"hm?" he asked, looking at you intently with your hands on his. "don't lie to me ever again. Ever." you warned.
He nodded his head and pulled you into him. "never, jaanu." he kissed you deeply, deeper than he ever did that day, lead your body the way he missed. He devoured you full that day, passion spilling into physical touches. He need you to understand his love. He needs you to scream his name. His real name.
