Wanna learn urdu/hindi?
I have some pretty common use phrases used by every married couple from the north of the south of the east
These are called taane (taunts) and to taunt someone is called "taane marna"
1. Khaana teyaar hai, invitation bejoon?
The food is ready, do you need a formal invitation πŸ™„ (sarcasm)
2. Bas ab chutti karo/ shabash ab chutti karo
Its time for a break πŸ™„ (jab/impatience)
Or more closely: ok now wrap it up/ wonderful, now wrap it up
Basically saying "are you done yapping yet?"
3. Sir pe rakh do/ sir pe rakhoon?
Put it on my head/ should I put it on my head? πŸ™„ (sarcasm)
Often response to "where should I put it?" Or when something is given with no handling instructions. "What should I do with it? Put it on my head?"
4. Aanken phaad ke kya dekh rahe ho?
What are you looking at with those wide eyes? 🀨 (judgmental/ confrontational)
Basically saying "tf you looking at huh?"
5. Ghar ka rasta bhool gaye the?
You forgot the way home? πŸ™„ (sarcasm)
This is said when someone comes home late
6. Mujhe kya pata, main to bas mehmaan hoon yahan
How would I know? I'm a guest in this house πŸ™„ (sarcasm)
This is said by the partner that isn't being consulted/is being ignored for joint decisions
7. Main to bas tumari seva karne ke liye paida hui thi (f) / Main to bas tumari seva karne ke liye paida hua tha (m)
I was born just to serve you πŸ™„ (sarcasm)
When someone feels like they do all the work without appreciation (household work)
8. Aapka to baap ka raaj hai na
This isn your father's kingdom, isn't it πŸ™„πŸ’€ (sarcasm/confrontational)
Usually said when one partner is being authoritative or making too many decisions or not doing housework
