OKAY finally done the series and while i have a lot of issues with how the concept of prejudice was handled (like. no way the book was trying to say the council was just ~misguided~ when they were negligent at best. i feel like the council did not learn their lesson by the end at all) but the drama and plot twists were just too juicy. i don't usually stay up past midnight to read but this series got me hook line and sinker

the renegade council rly is like "sorry we accidentally put you on death row but have you considered we were being cancelled on twitter"

#i briefly talked abt this in a ranty post i deleted but #it felt like the book kinda forgot the council was litcehrally about to neutralize a bunch of ppl without trial #and any time nova tried to be like 'hey that's fucked up' they just went 'haha ok listening and learning <3' and ignored her #their response to (from their perspective) accidentally putting someone innocent on death row was 'oopsie daisies'#absolutely zero reflection on how fucked up it is #also the concept of everyone getting their powers back at the end did not instill peace in me lol #not when genissa clark is back out there being evil elsa #anyway. magpie twist is extra juicy. can't wait to reread the series after a while and pick up all the clues #also u just KNOW marissa meyer wrote that epilogue giggling evilly knowing she's setting up all future fanfics perfectly
