Went to my first ever ice hockey game a day ago. Recovering ever since.
Went there knowing nothing and left knowing they like to beat each other up for the slightest inconvenience ahhahad. I loved the atmosphere though and it was super interesting to watch.
(This was my home teamâs introductionâ it looked and felt like the whole place got set on fire)
At the end our team won wich was great (even though i really think the opponents team didnt stand a chance bc it was obvious our team was so much better. Teamplaying and tactics wise.. but again i also know barely nothing so if anyone wants to educate me đ€âïž feel free to do so(^^)v)

Birthday life update
I didn't get my whole birthday week off like last year, but I did get Friday (cabaret circus) and Saturday (sibling dinner) for my birthday, and on Monday night my lil sister cut my hair (it was her birthday gift to me).
Friday night my partner and I went to a cabaret circus, which was really fun bc I got to dress up (I'll make another post of my outfit) and it was my first time going to a sexy/nsfw event. I have never been more happy to be bi/pan. I hope they come again next year â€ïž
Saturday we went to a souffle pancake place that had a promotion where you could get a keychain of their mascot. The plushie keychain is HUGE! Definitely bigger than your actual key collection. I got the brown sugar boba pancake and my partner got the tiramisu pancake.
Afterwards we went to an Indian store and got some authentic fresh Indian food for pretty cheap. SOOOOOOO GOOD! Originally we were gonna try a burger but I'm so glad we had the Indian food instead. I also bought a Kajal eyeliner.
Went to EB to pick up a game my partner ordered and also for me to see what I could spend my $10 EB birthday coupon on. Unfortunately it could only be used on something at least $50 and the only thing I wanted was a big Snorlax plushie, which even w the coupon would be $80. I had to say goodbye to Snorlax.
We spent a lot of the day cleaning and moving furniture to make space for my birthday dinner w my siblings. It was a lot but now my partner has a desk in aircon and the dining area is so much better.
Had my siblings over for a Korean bbq at home. We all pitched w ingredients and drinks. It was so fun! I haven't hosted anything at my place before, and this was the first big family gathering I've had since leaving my parents. My relationship w my parents is still strained, but my mom wished me a happy birthday and helped w organising the cake. My titas made a black forest cake and their cooking is still the best.
My partner and I bought an ube cake from a Filipino bakery (which wasn't as big or as good as my titas' but that's asking for the impossible) and it was good too. We didn't eat it at that dinner though bc everyone had enough from my titas' cake. We are still getting through the ube cake.
One of my brothers had to leave after dinner so we didn't have as many players for Pico Par 2, but it was still really fun.
On Sunday my partner's family was having a day where we painted paint-by-numbers, which was fun. We didn't finish them but I hope we can pick it up again.
Monday night I got my hair cut. It was stupid long and honestly getting too unmanageable. It's kinda at an awkward length bc I needed it long enough to tie up and go under a hair net for work, but I'm happy to get that weight off my head.
I'm 27 now!

Havenât written for a while but my first day of class was okay, I got heart palpitations that morning worrying Iâd miss the bus, which I didnât. I finished two books at our residential college library and also called Îng ná»i to wish him a happy birthday.Â
I didnât have anything planned for the weekend at first, other than a COVID-19 check-up mandated by the school and the movie night, but my roommates invited me everywhere. Yesterday we went downtown for a school event with Luis where we got coupons for free food. I went back a bit early, but we met later for dinner where I met one of the girls I ate with on Wednesday, Hannah. It turns out that she works at the dining hall and she gave me some tips if I ever wanted to apply. Unfortunately she missed out on the downtown event so I promised to give her my free ice cream coupon. Afterwards, my roommates, Luis, and I raced to catch a concert at one of the other residential colleges. We got there late, but just in time to see the last band perform. My roommates really liked them (even rushed into an impromptu mosh pit) but I couldnât understand what the frontman was singing. And it wasnât because some of the songs were in Spanish, he was mumbling the lyrics. Iâm no vocal expert, but it seems like he was singing in his throat and very chesty.
Today we went to a social event our residential college was holding with our sister college. I unexpectedly won a raffle there and got a blanket and two face masks. I donât use face masks so I gave it to a sophomore we met there named Aster (he majors in literature and actually lives at our hall) but I kept the blanket. Itâs unfortunately a polyester one, but I was really happy. Iâve never won anything in my life from something like this...itâs rare that Iâm so lucky.Â
Afterwards, we walked to a shrine dedicated to our schoolâs mascot along with Aster, his dog, and his boyfriend. We walked for like twenty minutes uphill because we forgot the campus buses donât run on weekends. It turns out the shrine was located on the balcony of three guysâ dorm room. We had to get access to their building and then go through their room to get there. The guy who let us in was really nice (I think his name was Dave?) and he explained to us how the shrine came to be.Â
Apparently one of his roommates bought a mascot plushie and a rug and placed them both out on the balcony (the plushie on the rug), which is located right next to the elevator and visible to everyone on the floor. People started asking to visit so the guys headed downtown to buy crystals and make it as shrine. I might be getting parts of the story mixed up, but yeah anyways now people come by to take pictures and leave âofferings.â My roommates and I each left one, for me it was a postcard I decorated at a social event...itâs a little sad but I had no one else to send it to so I thought Iâd just give it to our mascot.
Then we had a movie night whereupon we watched Pride & Prejudice in our residential hall lounge which was honestly just okay. I didnât like the original novel in the first place but the film actually changed a few things which I felt made the plot even more nonsensical and magnified its flaws. But itâs one of my roommatesâ favorite movies, and I wasnât about to air my negative thoughts anyway. I forgot to say, but the movie night was actually a social event held by my roommates and a few people actually did come including two friends we invitedâLuis and Lonnie. It seems everyone enjoyed themselves though (I feel guilty for eating so many of the snacks Luis and one of my roommates brought) and there was even talk about making movie night a weekly thing.
Because Lonnie has to hike all the way back to a distant parking lot to get to her car, we all walked with her there after the movie ended. And by we, I mean my roommates, Luis, myself and a girl we met at the movie night named Gabi(?). Not sure if thatâs how her name is spelled but she kept playing music as we strode along. It was a really long and tiring walk, but Iâm glad Lonnie got to her car safe. Then we all went back through a different routeâGabi was an orientation guide and said she knew a few shortcuts. We stopped to play on a carousel she pointed out and crossed over two bridges but we finally got back. I stayed behind to call mom (she made me promise to every Saturday) and write this post while the others continued along to a party Luisâs roommates told him about. The party is about a twenty-minute walk away, and itâs already pretty late so Iâm a little worried for them...Iâm realizing how I much I walk with them. Iâd probably only walk a third of what I do if it werenât for them. Honestly, itâs so sweet of them to try and include me in everything but they want to go to nearly every social event and Iâm not sure I can keep up.

Prompt: before ko turns into shsl despair, when they are in the academy. Maybe Chiaki invites Ko to go to a arcade with her?
A/N a very late birthday gift to my beloved friend @nanamemes-chiakiiz HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU WONDERFUL FRIEND!!!
Lucky Catch - komanami
âI truly am honored to have been invited to escort you when surely there are others more fitting. From the bottom of my heart, I am touched that you would choose me.â Komaeda declared with his widest of grins.
âYouâre exaggerating. I just asked you out on a date.â Nanami replied more casually in contrast to his tone.
âHuh? Isnât that what I just said?â He asked with childlike innocence.
Nanami blinked at his genuine ignorance. Even though itâs to be expected, she still isnât quite used to the way heâd describe certain things but itâs not a bad thing. Itâs confusing at times and more often than not, heâs fanatically optimistic when heâs not downright self-deprecating. His words are a bit of a mouthful and sheâs not sure if she fully comprehends what he says but then she just looks at him. Komaedaâs smile is more than enough to tell her what he meant to in words.
âWell I guess if you say so.â She easily smiled back and took his hand, intertwining. âLetâs go?â
Thereâs a sparkle in his eyes as he gave her hand an affectionate squeeze. âLead the way.â
Itâs a date or at least itâs the closest thing to a date that Nanami could think of. Sheâd always wanted to try an actual date and ever since she resigned herself to the idea that Komaeda wouldnât make the first move, not yet, she asked him out first. He almost turned her down though but only because he kept downplaying his worth. But itâs alright since he agreed in the end and she even managed to talk him into planning the second one. He was surprisingly easier to talk into a second date than a first. He said something about the probability of the first one being a success was guaranteed since her hope would surely overpower his bad luck. Sheâs not going to argue to that if it gets them a round two date.
Sheâs a bit inexperienced though or rather, she has no in real life experience at all when it comes to planning dates. Whenever she tried to prod for information from Komaeda, heâd simply reply that heâd be willing to go anywhere and he didnât have any place he particularly favored. Nanamiâs geographic knowledge on the other hand only extended to gaming places. He didnât seem to mind and she was relieved that they were going to a comfort zone of hers. But just because this was her territory didnât mean she didnât think of his side.
She dragged him and gracefully weaved through the arcade until they stopped at their destination.
âA claw machine?â He stated more than asked. It wasnât quite what he expected when she told him that they were going to have fun at the arcade.
A whole slew of them was lined up although this one was the largest of them. His eyes discreetly searched for the number of tokens needed and confirmed his suspicion that this was in fact the most expensive of them all. They could play ten games at the rate. He turned to her face which was beaming at the challenge in front of her.
âMe first.â Nanami said without so much a glance at him, her eyes already trained at the prize before her.
They already bought tokens beforehand and she slid ten of them into the machine. The claw moved with precision as she expertly held the analog stick with a determined grip. She flicked it ever so slightly, bit by bit, as she stared at the inside and changed her angle every now and then, correcting the alignment accordingly. Without warning, she pressed the button and she maneuvered through the obstacle of prizes as the claw descended. Until finally, it was able to hook onto a tiny loop which was connected to a huge dog stuffed toy. And just like that, she had easily won the most expensive prize in the game.
The plushie was ridiculously larger than her as she held it, both of her arms could hardly circle around all of it. With a proud grin on her face, she peeked through her prize and challenged him, âNow itâs player twoâs turn.â
Komaeda was almost at a lost for words. Her talent never failed to astound him and just now he bore witness to the more unconventional applications of it and it blew his mind. She looked so happy over it too that he couldnât help but smile back. âAlright, wish me luck.â
Contrary to Nanamiâs controlled and calculated approach, Komaeda didnât put too much effort into his. After all, he thought that he didnât have the talent for it so why bother? He did wonder how his luck would affect the outcome. Claw machines involved some luck after getting past the mirrors and skills. He vaguely remembered reading somewhere how there was actually a mechanism involved that regulated the odds of winning. According to that, it would take a certain number of tries after a win before the next win happens. Since Nanami had just won before him, the chances of him winning anything was close to zero now.
It excited him all the more not knowing how he could possibly lose horribly in this.
The claw hovered his target, the best prize second to the already taken dog stuff toy, a bunny mascot character plush. He didnât even hesitate when he pressed the button and the claw descendedâ past the bunny and into the bags of candies that surrounded it. Miraculously, one was caught by the edge and dangled precariously. It was a horrible consolation prize but it was better than none.
Except it was dropped as the claw shook on its way to the bin. The bag fell right on top of one of the heavier prizes which threw it off balance. It then toppled onto the divider which just so happened to have some screws loose. For a long moment, nothing happened. The tension in the air was palpable as the two stared on in anticipation. They thought that his luck was pushed far enough since there was no movement for a few minutes. They almost gave up as they took a step back. Somehow the miniscule tremor from that was enough to trigger the collapse of the divider and so all of the prizes came pouring out of the machine.
âAmazing!â Nanami voiced her awe in all her enthusiasm. âAs expected of a pro!â
Komaeda laughed at yet another display of how powerful his luck was. âI guess my luck has its uses after all!â He had won everything with his luck.
And then lost them all because it was suspected as cheating.
âAh, I knew my luck is the worst. To win everything only for me forfeit them all is truly devastating.â Komaeda said outside with a smile that was far too cheery despite his circumstance. âWell itâs not like I can complain. It was either go home empty-handed or you get banned too.â He chuckled at this.
In hindsight, they were lucky that they let her keep her prize at least.
âDid you have fun, Nanami?â He asked her as they walked towards the train station.
âYes. Very much so!â She nodded happily. âThey let us play lots of other games afterwards. But I still think the best part was the claw machine. Your luck was so amazing! I couldnât beat it at all!â
âBut if we count the actual prizes I took home, weâd count nothing so this should count as your victory.â He corrected her.
Nanami stopped in her tracks and turned towards him.
âYou used to have a dog.â She started, her voice was distant but also partly muffled from the plushie she was holding on.
âPardon?â
âYou told me that you used to have a dog when you were a kid and that it made you happy.â She continued and it was hard to tell what kind of face she was making as she said this since the plushie obscured her head. âI know this isnât enough to replace him. And this might not even be the same breed butâŠâ
From one owner to another, the dog was passed on to him.
âHere.â She said with a heartfelt smile, it shone more prominently due to the blush that dusted her cheeks. âI want you to be happy.â
For a moment, Komaeda remembered to try and get her that bunny plushie for another date.
His arms encircled both the dog stuff toy and her as he let out a blissful sigh. âThank you, Nanami. I truly am lucky.â
And he was the luckiest for having her.
