Tell me your theories on sam and Colby's laundry habits - or cleaning habits of any sort really. Heck, throw jake, johnnie, nate, and anyone else in there as well. I am all in for light hearted anything right now!

Oh, my opinions on their laundry habits are that they have none 🤣.

This got really long, so I put it behind a cut. This is a fun discussion everyone, and not meant to be taken seriously, so just remember that!

The laundry thing started on here a few years ago mainly because we noticed that Colby wears the same black tank top every single day of his life, like a cartoon character. So that got us all thinking - is he a) constantly doing laundry, b) never doing laundry and just using broke college student methods like rolling his clothes up in dryer sheets or wearing his clothes in the shower so they can get all soapy and "washed" that way, or c) does he secretly own 6,500 black tanks and he just constantly throws them out when they get dirty and pulls a new one out?

This then sort of evolved into wondering how he handles his $1,000+ dollar designer clothes - is he having that stuff dry cleaned (and if so, are the tank tops being dry cleaned as well, is this man a GTL'er?), or is he just throwing this stuff into the wash with all his other shit and just hoping for the best?

And then THAT led us down a path of "well, maybe they do their laundry together (snc) cause they do everything else together, so why not," which led down a path of imaging Sam having to micromanage Colby's laundry folding habits, cause you know Sam is a man who matches all his socks up meticulously and organizes them in his drawers by colors and sock sizes, while Colby probably just throws all his shit on the floor and does the old grab and sniff before putting 'em on.

This was a whole long-running, multi-faceted conspiracy over here throughout the height of the pandemic 🤣.

Anyway, the only thing we ever got a clear answer on was that they use Tide, apparently. The rest is still a mystery. 🤷‍♀️

As far as their other cleaning habits? From what I can tell, Sam is far more concerned with having a clean abode than Colby is (which I believe was a bone of contention between them when they first moved in together in LA). Sam seems to like things to be tidy and to his liking, and doesn't seem happy when someone messes it up. Whether he actually does any cleaning himself is debatable - I'm willing to bet they have regular house keepers coming in on a weekly basis to clean the common areas and stuff and let's be honest, they never use the damn kitchen anyway, so that's not a problem 🤣.

But yea, of the two of them, I think Sam is closer to being the neatfreak. I think Colby is respectful of common areas, but I think he's a person who isn't all that concerned about his room (unless he's got someone coming over thay he wants to impress).

Now, that being said, I think Colby values his privacy a lot and does NOT like people touching or moving his shit, so I wouldn't be surprised if he "cleans" his own room. But yea, I don't much see him as a neatfreak, but more of a person who is meticulous about his routines, habits, and where he wants things to be and how he wants his space to be.

Jake and Johnnie, I don't know as well (or at all, really) but they seem to throw a lot of food at their walls, so I hope they're cleaning or theyre gonna get roaches and rats hardcore 🤣.

both phil and techno have accepted wilbur into their family at this point. from the start phil and techno both knew that eret was probably not going to let the pythia go, it was just a matter of the two of them figuring out if that's what wilbur wanted or not. because even though they both had figured out that being the pythia was destroying wilbur, neither of them were going to take that choice away from him. if he made the decision to go back to his role with eret in charge, neither one of them were going to stop him.

but then wilbur confesses that he doesn't want to be the pythia anymore, and all bets are off. both of them started brainstorming escape ideas for wilbur before the palace invasion even happened because even though they weren't certain, they both had a gut feeling eret was going to pull this.

I think techno was the one who pointed out to phil that tommy was definitely going to go with wilbur if he left. and while phil was reluctant, he knows his kid and he knew there was no way he could stop him. and he also knew there was no way wilbur would go without him.

I didn't think they would retcon Ada saving Luis, it was more so something I just really HOPED would happen but the fact she was RIGHT THERE and still went after Krauser? In character but disappointing. I guess her character arc is a slower one. Although maybe she just assumed that what Luis said was true or Leon could help him idk.

Adahlen since like first getting to skyhold. She has never been in love before, never even had a boyfriend. So she didnt really understand why she wanted to talk to him all the time. Why she wanted his guidance or thoughts on everything. Why the thought of him not being able to or worse not wanting to come on their next trip made her upset. She knew she blushed when he was around and struggled with her words and according to Nerien (elven bestie) those are signs of loveeee but that couldnt be it right ?? And even if it was “sighhh he wont want me…” Until for basically the first time in her life she pulls a fuck it move and kisses him. she kinda just “oh?! oh… oh no.” Solas obvi realllyyy really likes her but out of fear i dont think he allows the thought of love to escape until its banging down the door. Probably Solas! Adahlen usually has the conviction of a wet noodle and she struggles a lot not being a pushover especially with her new roll as inquisitor. Shes stubborn occasionally and allows herself to be so as time goes on and she realizes she will not be burned at the stake for stating her wishes. Solas has shown himself to be very stubborn i think theyre both interesting in that way. And he is always trying to get her to stick up for herself and not be swayed by others. Pretty opposite in that aspect.

YEZ!!! the usual vhenan, my love, and my heart for both. When theyre being extra romantic, Solas calls Adahlen Da’lath’in (little heart or a term for someone who is very loving and emotional), or Gaildahlas: The elvhen word for embrium. which is kinda like calling someone sweetie, or Ma’blarteralas: My mountain flower. they stick to elvhen usually! But on occasion he calls her Rosy like Varric does to tease her and kind of gets use to it. Ada tends to call solas Ma’sa’lath (my one love), Fenor (precious), Arasha: My happiness, she is oh so very romantic and lovey and she tends to use these more elaborate ones often.

He did say one time that he hadnt realized it until after they went to redcliffe. He told her he was a royal bastard and she still liked him, she barely gave a shit in fact. she even went out of her way to protect Arl Eamond and his family, though she had a blatant dislike for them. Once all that was over and he got back to camp his brain would not leave him alone and just kept replaying their interactions together and it was like he got punched in the face. He knew he liked her but thats when he was like oh maker im so SCREWED! According to Aila it happened to her around the same time. Heres this guy that she thinks is handsome and funny, oh whatever might as well flirt and enjoy his company while we go through hell together, its not serious. But then they just have the best chemistry and begin to develop something more, which she has literally never experienced as circle mages tend not to risk love. Still shes lying to herself like “hah i totally could stop if i wanted to.” And then they went to redcliffe and she continues lying to herself like “yeah sure i could do this an easier way but that would be dumb haha, going back to the circle is much smarter haha..” so then she returns to the circle relives some trauma, and oh yeah kills a specific abusive templar who was being attacked by demons in front of everyone and then doesn’t let anyone ask about it. ANYWAY she gets a little unhinged during the circle quest, but she realizes he still sees her the same way. Hes not scared of her, he doesnt think shes cruel, he still looks at her adoringly, and then he gives her the rose and its all over for her. Thats when shes like oh no… i love him.

oh my goddd Aila definitely wins in this. Alistair is obviously very stubborn from what weve seen but she is the queen of it. the only thing that will make her budge is probably some sad desperation. She has a really big heart to her dismay. they almost never argue, if they do its about simple things or probably the safety of one another. When they do argue about something its often a stalemate for a while, usually alistair is the one who gives in lol he ends up growing tired of it and wanting wifey kisses again.

Both of them use “love” and “my love” mostly but sometimes they add others. when they first were acquainted Aila would call him “chantry boy” to tease him, he then graduated to “pretty boy” then “my dearest husband” expressed in a silly way. Alistair loves all kinds of nicknames for her and tries a lot of different ones out. Brettsey Drabbles: “I love coming home to you.”

Matt was used to his routine in Oregon. He would wake up early and start the coffee maker. He’d then take a shower, get dressed for work, go into the kitchen to drink a cup of coffee and then fill up his travel mug to take some to the firehouse, and then either eat a piece of toast or take it with him to eat on the road, depending if he was running late or not.

He’d work on reports before and after the morning briefing, and then calls would come in between. Drills were both spontaneous and planned and his new crew didn’t mind too much. Some inside jokes were established here and there, bringing some much needed relaxation and lighthearted laughs throughout the day.

He’d text Ben and Griffin, asking about their day, every few hours or so. Griffin almost always answered and Ben sometimes answered. Before he left shift, he’d go on a grocery run and ask the boys if they needed anything. Most of the time they’d compile a list and other times, it would be on the fly. Sometimes Matt would forego the grocery trip entirely and just pick up some breakfast or lunch on the way back home.

In March, that routine, the one Matt had been so used to, changed.

As Matt woke up the next morning, at the tail end of his shift, a beaming smile was plastered across his face. He held that same grin as he went into the co-ed bathroom to brush his teeth, as he filled out a few last reports and furlough requests, and as he packed his duffle and carried it to his car parked in front of the firehouse.

He skipped the group text with Ben and Griffin and the grocery run.

He parked his car in front of the Darden’s house and walked up to the front door. His grin grew impossibly wider when he heard faint laughter and then a couple voices. When he opened the door, he heard Griffin and Ben laughing about something on the television in the living room.

“Morning, Matt,” Griffin greeted him with a wide smile.

“Morning,” Ben said with a bit of lightheartedness in his voice right after.

“Morning you two,” Matt replied cheerfully. “Sunday morning cartoons?”

“Of course,” Griffin replied with utmost certainty.

“Ben, did you–” Matt was interjected.

“Yes, Matt. I did my homework and Sylvie is a witness,” Ben replied with some sass, but Matt decided not to press him about it. He looked suspiciously at the boy before he heard his girlfriend chime in from the kitchen.

“It’s true. I am a witness!”

Matt beamed at the sound of her voice and followed it. His eyes lit up when he saw her in a pair of black yoga pants and a gray tank top. Her hair was tied up, almost messily, with some short strands coming loose in some places. The urge in the pit of his stomach carried him to her and loving wrap his arms around her from behind.

“Morning,” Matt greeted her softly.

Sylvie laughed when she felt his lips on the back of her neck, a sensitive spot and one that would elicit more than a laugh if he were more daring. (Ben and Griffin usually exited the room at that point).

“Morning, Babe,” Sylvie replied happily. “How was work?”

“It was good.” He kissed her shoulder and then continued, “Surprisingly quiet. Was everything okay here?”

Sylvie’s bubbly reply made the butterflies in his stomach go crazy. “Everything was more than okay. Ben got a B on his pop quiz in Chemistry and we celebrated with some ice cream. Griffin started filling out his college applications. And then we watched some superhero show last night that had way more blood than I thought it would. We went to the grocery store to stock up and we got you some snacks to take to the firehouse. Oh, and I also bought some stuff to make brownies.” She then whispered, “I was hoping Griffin would take it to class tomorrow to give to you know who.”

Ben laughed when he heard Sylvie and poked fun of his brother and his hard crush on his classmate. Griffin painfully grinned and shook his head at him before yelling, “She’s not Voldemort. You can say her name.”

Matt chuckled against Sylvie’s shoulder at that (and the only reason why he got that reference was because they binge watched all eight Harry Potter movies the weekend prior). He hummed happily as he held his girlfriend in his arms and listened to her give him a list of updates on things that happened in the last twenty-four hours.

When she was done, she noticed he was rather quiet, so she asked worriedly, “Everything okay?” She craned her neck a bit to look at him.

He realized he was deep in thought when he heard her and replied with a small nod that turned into a nudge against the side of her neck. He kissed the spot and murmured affectionately, “I love coming home to you.”

When he came to Oregon, his thoughts were always filled of her and her support and encouragement, and her unconditional love. He really couldn’t have moved for the boys without her. Of course, he missed her, but they called and FaceTimed often. There were days when they missed each other like hell, but they voiced their fears and anxiety surrounding their long distance relationship and communicated their feelings to each other without any difficulty.

He was of course very, very happy when she told him she was going to be stay with him for a couple months. The moment she arrived, Matt wore the biggest smile and everyone at the firehouse noticed. They poked fun of him for days, and when Sylvie stopped by to meet everyone and bring them cookies she baked, they told her all kinds of stories about him, embarrassing or otherwise. While laughs were shared between his girlfriend and his new firehouse, Matt took a moment to relish the joy that swelled in his chest, because there wasn’t quite anything like it. He was watching two parts of his lives mold into one without any difficulty or adjustment. He honestly felt so carefree at that moment.

“What time are you leaving for the gym?” he asked.

She hummed in thought as she checked the clock above the kitchen sink. “Foster’s friend is doing a session in thirty minutes, so I should probably start leaving soon.”

Matt’s hands reached underneath her tank top and gently grazed the soft skin of her belly. “Should I wait for you to get back to take a shower?” he teased with a soft feather-like kiss against the spot behind her ear. When he felt her shudder against him, he grinned wildly and excitedly. He didn’t realize a small growl had reverberated in his throat.

She wanted to laugh at his teasing and gently nudged him with her elbow. “Hey, there are kids in the other room.”

And then they heard Ben yell, “And the kids can hear every word!”

Matt nearly choked on his own spit at that and then felt Sylvie’s hand press against his chest as she eased her way out of his arms.

“I’ll be home in an hour,” she informed him. Her eyes hungrily raked him from head to toe before her fingers played with the hem of his white Captain’s polo. There was a bit of darkness in her eyes as she continued lowly and seductively, “We are in a drought, right? We should do our part and save water.” She teasingly bit her bottom lip in anticipation and he stared at it longer than he should have.

He tried to suppress a smirk at her innuendo. “Yes, yes we should.”

She laughed at their playful exchange and kissed him happily on the lips. “Welcome home, Honey.”

He loved this new routine.
