╬ Phileo had of-course met you because you were Leonia's nanny..caring for the rambunctious kid of his who ran around, salivating over muscles. He had always been thankful to you sort of for keeping her out of trouble, he was usually so tired caring for her.

╬ It wasn't long before he was close with you, almost actually being friends and Leonia of-course caught on..she was weirdly smart like that. Teasing him for hours on end and almost revealing his feelings, but he kept her quiet with candies and stuff...thank the lord.

╬ Leonia was so excited when Phileo did eventually ask you out. She was adamant on planning everything and threatened to disown her dad if he hurt you. And eventually she was also the one to suggest the kidnapping and everything innocently as if it was a passing comment, but she utterly meant to give her father the suggestion to kidnap to keep you locked to her, she loves you! You're her mum now!

╬ Phielo is very protective, easy guess. Like Leonia, most people won't be fucking with you if they see the Boleoti family symbol on your clothing, coats or jewellery. You're forced into wearing them, Vera and Rupert are the one to make sure you're okay. Levipath is your guard when Leonia is spending time with you, making sure you're okay but above all also making sure Leonia won't get hurt by any outbursts you do out of loneliness, anger, sadness and stuff, she cannot afford it.

╬ But it doesn't mean he's nice all the time, he does have a few punishments, mostly soft ones like starving you for a day or two, but is face is just so intimidating, you don't get the easy habit of actually walking over his rules and lines. He's very strict and stern on rules, though he does let you free a bit on his rules, but he makes sure you follow it like a good girl.

╬ Phileo is very much adamant on having NO person who can admire you more than him, it's easier to haunt them down with accusations of breeding illegal monsters for exotic pet trade. He'll plant it on the person and their family, no mercy or remorse in his veins...The hell are they gonna do? Accuse the GRAND DUKE?! It has to be a deranged joke.

╬ Phileo sometimes feels it's too far, but he does use Leonia as a way to keep you locked down to him. You're bound to get connected to Leonia seeing how you're her nanny and also because she's a kid and you're gonna get protective, he'll use Leonia as a way to keep you tied to him as long as stockholm syndrome kicks in.

╬ There is no way he's going to let you go, that much is easy to tell. He'll literally put you on blacklist with a criminal record on abusing kids so no one will hire you as a nanny so even if you escape, you will not last long in the world without a job as a nanny. He'll make sure you have no one else but him and Leonia in your life. Accusations, crime record, he'll do anything in his power to keep you as down as possible.

╬ Leonia is also smart enough, being old enough..she'll go with anything her father tells her to, she'll listen to everything he says, manipulate you even more since you're her nanny and all. She isn't actually allowed to spend too much time with you now though, just for her safety in Phileo's opinion until you're utterly used to this lifestyle, Leonia has a new nanny whom she does not like AT ALL!

╬ Phileo has few trusted people to even interact with you, with a few maids. Those people don't even include Rupert, only Vera, Levipath and Leonia to interact with you. Rupert might agree to not see you for his own safety since he know a little mistake could risk his life too even as Phileo's dear friend. He didn't want it, and he didn't want to involve himself, though he does serve you seriously and makes sure you're living normally.

╬ Phileo often takes his competition to his monster expeditions and kills them there, if they are somewhere in his guard-ship or his staff, or they plant crimes on the person, like I said about illegally breeding monsters for illegal exotic pet trade, but other types of crimes as well, if they are someone else. He is not afraid to even plant crimes or dig up as much dirt as possible on other nobles.

╬ Vera like to keep you in line for honor and image of the Boleoti, she's possibly the only Phileo trusts you with, he even trusts her to raise her hand on you if it meant to keep you in line, somehow. Of-course Vera only hit you if you're like VERY out of line and disobedient, she'll use your trauma against you, if you have any, but he usually doesn't, she's a calm woman for the lady of the house after all.

anyways, the first time you met leonia was when you visited their mansion. leonia was in the greenhouse, playing with the maids when she accidentally bumped into you. causing the hood of your cloak that had been hiding your face to fall of. and leonia was captivated by your beauty. her usual confident and sassy personality was nowhere to be seen. it was as if she became a seven-year-old kid when she saw you.

let's go back to you. who was confused after seeing leonia. black hair and black eyes. you suddenly remembered the reason why you're here and the contents of your friend's letter. when you connected the puzzle, you gasped. you smiled at leonia as you crouched down and greeted her. and leonia, unlike her usual self was shy after you smiled at her. she suddenly became restless. but how could she not when she saw a woman whose beauty was on par with the female lead?!

and of course, just like the usual second female leads in every novel. you and phileo didn't end up with each other. instead, you became the bridge between for him and the female lead. because... general (y/n) (l/n) got married and got killed by her husband and her in-laws a few months after their wedding. how did they kill you? of course, even though you were the strongest. you still have your weakness which is your powers going out of control. and your powers became like that after your husband and his family mixed the poison that they got from the imperial family in your food. and instead of choosing to unleash your power who's getting out of control so you'll be able to live. you just accepted your faith and died.

leonia remembered an extra chapter in the novel that was gruesome. it was the chapter where phileo personally tortured the people who killed you after he heard about the news of your death. he tortured them slowly... and he made sure to make them feel the excruciating pain that will make them wish that they were dead. she could still remember a quote from that chapter that made her feel... as if something was odd with phileo's character.

when leonia looked at you and phileo who were casually talking to each other. for a moment, she saw a glint of possessiveness in phileo's eyes while looking at you.

after discussing about some important matters. you and phileo were now doing what you always do whenever you visit him. and that is... sparring! and for some odd reasons, after you took off your cloak. leonia started to compliment your muscles. but you didn't pay any attention to it since according to you, leonia is a kid.

and the time that you and her father attacked each other. leonia's eyes widened. she knows that the most powerful ability that exists in this empire was 'the beast fangs'. yet, now in front of her. she is seeing an ability that was on par, no, stronger than the beast's fangs.

and just like usual, you won. after chatting with the father-daughter duo you decided to go home to prepare yourself for your engagement party. you planned to tell phileo about this yet you couldn't. the atmosphere around him changed after you saw him last time. and you don't want to destroy it. besides, you can just ask carnis to tell phileo about your engagement anyways.

phileo wanted to laugh knowing the reason why you kissed him. but, this time he'll gonna help you. he snaked his arms around your waist as he pulled you into him as he deepened the kiss. he then looked at your fiancee whose face was red because of anger.

let's just say after that event. the two of you become the hottest topic in the empire. everyone knows the story about how you confidently broke her engagement for the sake of your true love which is the duke boleoti.

Of course you were. You always had been. From the moment you got left in the wood. From the moment you got yourself kidnapped, you became the bad one.

Isabella Marie Swan was your older sister. Well, your adoptive older sister. Yeah you were adopted because she wanted a sibling but her parents didn't want to have any sexual relation so they took you from the orphanage near by. You and Bella used to love each other growing up, you were two years younger than her and you admired her a lot. She loved you. But you changed. You weren't the cute little Y/n anymore no. Now all you wanted to do was to kill her. Was it out of jealousy ? You didn't know. Maybe it was, but who cares anyways ?

And what comes to the main lead ?

How did they know that Bella was in trouble ? Simple. There was a doll at their doorstep. A burning doll who looked just like Bella and four words.

"'Beware of me Bells', no seriously, who did you get in trouble with again ?" Leah asked and everyone stayed silenced.

There was silence and then Edward's eyes widened in horror, seeing his sister's vision.

Surrounded by endless fire, there was one small figure that stood in the middle of the chaos. They were facing the burning trees, a headless body burning at their feet. And then they turned around. Their face was hidden by a hood and their small hands were holding Bella's bodiless head. The only feature that stood out was their burning palms and their red eyes.

The flames took over Bella's head before the stranger let it go on the ground.

“Say, my lady, do you have anywhere to stay?” He inquired politely

“Hm.. not yet, perhaps I will try and reach out to a few friends here,” Y/n muttered, she had forgotten that she had no place to stay

“You could stay with me,” He asked hopefully

“Uhm, I wouldn’t like to trouble you,” Y/n mumbled

“Nonsense! I have multiple rooms, it wouldn’t matter if you took one of them,” He said

Fast Forward to a few months later when Y/n also fell in love with him and they started dating,

“Y/n,  I can't live without you and I don't want to try so please marry me and stay with me for the rest of your life,” He asked on his knees holding an emerald ring adorned with diamonds wrapped up in a blue velvet box.

“Oh Phileo, I am indebted to you, so if I am to stay with you I would much rather stay as your wife,” Y/n sighed happily as the emerald ring slipped onto her finger. The golden haired beauty was now his wife. Only a year back he never would have imagined that he would fall in love with a woman so badly but now that she was here he never wanted her to go.

Fast forward a few months after they got married,

The couple rode in a gold carriage, they were on their way to see a sunset as Y/n loved the beautiful scenery. That was when Y/n noticed a small girl from the corner of her eye and demanded the carriage be stopped this instant! She walked out of the carriage to see a black haired girl dressed in rags with bruises all over her skin.

“That poor girl!” Y/n whispered to Phileo

Y/n walked towards the girl and slowly ruffled her hair

“Hey, I don’t mean to scare you but are you alright?” Y/n asked, her tone was that of a concerned mothers

“I’m fine miss, I just ran away from the orphanage,” She mumbled

“Ah! Well then I assume you have no place to stay?” Y/n asked

“You, from now on your our daughter,” Phileo spoke up taking both Y/n and Leonia by surprise

Y/n’s eyes had sparkles as she gently brushed through Leonia’s hair with her fingers

“What's your name dear?” Y/n cooed

“I don’t have one,” She replied back

“Eh! Why Leonia darling?” Y/n asked

“And then he kidnapped the beautiful princess and forced her to be his wife- she is too nice so she pretended that she was okay with it but really-”

Y/n giggled while Leonia made her the protagonist ( damsel in distress ) while she made her husband “the big bad knight”.

Fast Forward to when Y/n is in bad condition,

He got Chevalier's physical traits (Blue Eyes, Pale Blonde Hair)

His personality is basically the mixing of Chevalier’s and your personality (Dominant to Chevalier).

An excellent swordman like his father

Has a domineering aura of a leader like Chevalier, but can be very soft and warm to some people, such as his mother and sister.

Multi-talented like (again) Chevalier.

Good at military strategy.

Not as fond of romance novels as her parents. (He already knows what love means from his parents, unlike Chevalier).

The strongest candidate to be the next King of Rhodolite.

A beast to his enemy, a angel of mercy for his people.

He loves his sister very much (platonicaly) and is very warm to her.

Alexander is more closer to you than Chevalier. Although he was seen more often with Chevalier, and much of this father-son conversation concerns nation affairs. He is much more open with you.

Calling Chevalier "Lord Father" in private, "Your Majesty" in public.

A sweet tooth! Really love your and his sister’s sweets!

INTERACTIONS :

With Chevalier - 16th years old Alexander

     "You did well today."

     Alexander turned to his father. The two of them walked into the palace after quelling the riots at the border near the Obsidianate. "Thank you, Lord Father. I wouldn't have been able to finish this without you."

     "You're exaggerating. I'm sure you can still finish them without me." Chevalier commented. "Though, it's a little strange to smell the blood mingled with the sweetness of sugar."

     Alexander flinched a little. "Ah, before we left the palace, I accompanied Mother to bake some dessert. If you desire, you may get it after this."

     Chevalier was silent for a while. "Who would have thought that a beast like you have a time to enjoy a few slices of cake before you slays a bunch of your enemies," Chevalier said flatly.

     "Lord—" Realizing his place in the palace with many servants passing by, Alexander stopped his sentence. "Your Majesty, it's not like that!"

     Chevalier stopped, causing his son to stop as well. "I know. But before that, you need to wipe your face properly.”

     “Oh?” Alexander looked at the handkerchief his father handed him, confused. 

     “Your mother would not like to see even a drop of blood on your face and would think you were hurt. Unless you wanted to hear her endless ramblings of worry, then you don’t have to wipe it."

With You, 16 years old Alexander

     Alexander looked up at the ceiling of his chamber before he closed his eyes. You could see the fatigue on the face that resembled your husband's alot. "Another harsh day?" you asked, entering your son's chamber. "Your father must have given you too much work lately." You sat yourself on the edge of the bed and handed your son a cup of hot tea.

     "Lord Father said he was doing much worse things when he was my age. I just ... feel so burdened," he said honestly. He got up and took the tea. He took a sip slowly so his tongue wouldn't burn.

     You could only smile. "Well, your father didn't lie about that. Unfortunately. your grandmother, the late Queen didn't raise your father the way I raised you."

     Alexander puts down his cup and looks at you with curious eyes. "I heard similar things from other princes. So it's all true?"

     You nodded. "Before I met your father, he was just a brutal beast who knows nothing about warmth. He had no human feelings back then. You know your father has 7 brothers, that means he has 7 rivals to become the next king. Therefore, your father is always forced to be a perfect prince. He forced himself to be a true noble, to the extent that he doesn't have time to feel any emotion a human could feels."

     Alexander was silent for a moment, surprised by the story about his father. "Lord Father never felt warmth?"

     "Not anymore, my son. He gets all the warmth he deserve now, from you and your sister, from me, and from all the people of Rhodolite."

With Celestine, 18 years old Alexander, 14 years old Celestine

     Both your son and daughter are focused on training their sword skills. Even though she looks all sweet and graceful to the point where she is often thought of as weak, Celestine Michel is still the daughter of Chevalier Michel and the younger sister of Alexander Michel. Her swordsmanship is not to be underestimated.

     Alexander noticed his little sister's movements were getting more and more inaccurate due to exhaustion. After dispelling the slash from his sister's sword, Alexander stopped. "I think that's enough for today. Your skills have improved."

     With her chest rising and falling, Celestine fixed her stance. "Just for a bit, Lord Brother. I want to practice a little mo—Ouch! What was that for?!"

     "Are you a simpleton or something?" Alexander asked after he lightly tapped the grand princess' head with the edge of his wooden sword.

     "Who did you call simpleton?!" Celestine protested. "Why are you even using Lord Father's nickname for Mother?!"

     Alexander could only sigh. "Forget it. What's important is what if something happened to you? Do you want to make Mother worry? Not to mention, I'm sure Lord Father will scold you a lot."

     "Lord Father never scolds me!"

     "Oh? But he can give you the silent treatment, am I wrong? I know it's a very torturous way to punish you." A cynical smile appeared on the grand prince's face. He knew that his little sister could be a little more spoiled when she was with their father. Because of that, Celestine couldn't possibly endure the silent treatment from Chevalier. Alexander sighed. "Never mind, if you want to continue training, just go on. I'm tired, so I'll go first."

     Imagining the dire scenario that her brother had just presented, Celestine immediately dropped her sword. "I am coming along!"

2. Grand Princess Celestine Michel

She got Chevalier's physical traits (Blue eyes, long pale blonde hair)

And she got your personality.

Lowkey good with swords, she keep her ability as secrets. And also, duel and match with Chevalier in spare time.

A bit introvert, and too kind with her people.

But don't worry, once she switches to her more serious mode, she can be just as scary as her father. She's a noble beast too, remember?

Soon-to-be Marchioness de Michel. By "marchioness" I mean, she will lead House of de Michel and the march/marquisate in Chevalier's stead. Just waiting for her debutante and get ready.

Chevalier originally had no intention of handing over the leadership of the marquisate to his daughter, but because Celestine requested it directly and formally during important meetings with higher ups and other nobles.

She also promises to prove that she is a woman who can lead and is equal to or even stronger than other male leaders.

She’s close to you and Chevalier, but she's more closer to Chevalier to the point you could call her spoiled.

People will be even more surprised when they see Chevalier respond to his daughter's every indulgence. They are like a scary tiger and a tigress cub who is still cute. And you know what? Chevalier swears he will kill anyone who dares to harm the grand princess.

Likes to bake cakes and make sweets with you or even alone. This habit will continue even until she becomes a marchioness. She will make this cake baking activity a stress reliever. And he has tons of recipes.

Her loyal cake consuments: Alexander (littelary a sweet tooth), Chevalier, and most of his Uncle Princes (especially Jin, Yves, and Luke)

He'll be good friends with Yves, trust me.

She may be a carbon copy of Chevalier physically, but she's just a little bit an introvert while sometimes she can also just snap, just like you.

If I need to describe her shortly, then it will be "A gentle, kinda, and graceful beast".

INTERACTIONS :

With Chevalier, 6 years old Celestine

     "Celestine?" Chevalier immediately returned to his chamber after the grand princess's nanny told him that Celestine wanted to meet him in his father's room. However, Chevalier did not see a single person in his room.

     "I'm here, Lord Father!" Celestine appeared from behind the desk in Chevalier's room. That's when Chevalier noticed several cupcakes on his table. "You're baking cakes again?" Chevalier asked and her daughter nodded. "You didn't bring your tray by yourself, did you?"

     "Of course not. Mother said I wouldn't be able to carry the tray alone, so I asked my nanny to help me."

     Chevalier took his dessert spoon and tasted the cupcake. The softness of the brownies and the sweetness of the whipped cream washed over Chavelier's tongue. It was a little too sweet, but Chevalier had to admit he liked it. He found himself taking the second bite.

     Even though her father didn't admit or say how good the cupcake was, Celestine knew he really liked it. "Actually, Lord Father, I made the cupcakes from the recipe Grandmother wrote in her journal. Mother lent me the journal to bake the cake."

     "The late Queen?" Chevalier was confused when he heard his mother's name. He sighed. "That's fine. Your mother did the same thing. You can start your own journal if you want."

     "Is that true?"

     Chevalier nodded. "By any way, Celestine." Chevalier put his spoon down and lifted his daughter. He sat himself on his chair while placing his daughter on his lap. "Look me in the eyes."

     Celestine obeyed and was silent, staring straight into Chevalier's eyes. "What is it, Lord Father?"

     His father didn't answer. Celestine could only stare at Chevalier with her beautiful and adorable round eyes in confusion. But as time went on, Celestine could feel the pressure from her father's gaze. A storm seemed to rage within Chevalier's blue eyes. He purposely put his brutal beast aura on Celestine to see her reaction.

     To his surprise, Celestine did not take her eyes off immediately. As heavy and terrifying as Chevalier's aura was, Celestine decided to keep her gaze on her father. Having had enough, Chevalier immediately released his aura, leaving Celestine slightly breathless. "You strangled me, Lord Father. That was scary." the grand princess pouted.

     "That's quite surprising," Chevalier smirked at his daughter. "You still can handle my aura longer than anyone. Your eyes resonated with mine earlier. You really are my daughter after all. It will be a shame if you can't handle my aura."

     "Still, that's terrifying!"

With you, 15 years old Celestine

     "Mother, here is your dessert. I made a Dark Lava Cake that goes well with a cup of sweet honey tea." Celestine put a tray on your desk.

     It's been fifteen years since you gave birth to this daughter of yours in front of you, and you can never get tired of the fact that she is basically a female version of Chevalier, despite the fact that she is a much gentler version of Chevalier.

     "Thank you, My Grand Princess." You enjoyed a few mouthfuls of the cake and drank the tea. "This is really good. The chocalate brownies are really soft."

     Celestine smiled shyly. "Thank you, Mother. I made it based on the recipe you wrote in your journal."

     You chuckle. "You made it better than me."

     Seeing the many palace documents on your desk, Celestine looked at her mother. He knew how hard it was to be a royalty. Especially if the context is the wife of a king named Chevalier Michel. Celestine knew her mother was not only a Queen Consort, but also to lead Rhodolite by her father's side.

     “Mother, would you like for me to lend you a hand? Since Lord Father and Lord Brother are still outside and will only be returning tomorrow, I can help you out a bit. Although, I don't know if I can help out much with the more important nation affairs." she offered.

     "Oh, sweetheart. Thank you for your offer. But don't you have enough work to attend to? You were a little busier after you said you wanted to lead the House of de Michel to your father. Am I not going to interrupt your work? You must be tired too."

     Celestine just chuckled at you. "No, Mother. How can I dare to bake a cake when I haven’t finish my works?"

With Alexander, 16 years old Celestine, 20 years old Alexander

     "Do you really have to go? It's dangerous to go there alone." Celestine looked at her brother worriedly. The sun had just shone, but Alexander had to get to the border to deal with a mess. And yes, Alexander left without a troop. He only brought his aide with him.

     Alexander gazed at his sister. The white dress with beautiful blue gradations didn't match the worry etched on her face. "You don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine." Knowing that wouldn't calm his sister's worries, Alexander sighed. "Looks like you have a lot of time to worry about me. Instead of wasting your time on unnecessary things, you'd better do something else. I'm sure you still have a lot of marquisate documents to work on."

     "I can finish it before noon!" Celestine protested, making her brother feel challenged.

     "Oh, then you have to help with Mother's chores. I'm sure she has a lot of work to do in the country."

     "I will too!"

     Satisfied enough to tease his sister, Alexander chuckled. "Most importantly, you can do a lot of things while waiting for me to come home. You said you wanted blue roses that growing at north of Rhodolite, didn't you? I'll pick some before I go home. Waiting for them to grow in the garden would be very boring."

     "Ah!" Celestine gasped as her brother placed his hand on the top of her head. Alexander's hands were rough from how much he held his sword. But she can feel the comfort from them. "You ruined my hair," the grand princess immediately hid her touched expression.

     "That's not even my cocnern. By the way, see you later. I'll be at the border by noon and I'll get straight to the mess. So I can sort it all out before nightfall and come back the next day." Alexander explained his plan to his sister before leaving. But before he really left, Alexander paused for a moment. "Ah, one more thing. When I get home tomorrow, I want you to have made your Chocolate Ice Cream Cake for me."

     Celestine, who was initially surprised, immediately smiled sweetly. "Go home first, then I'll make the cake you want."

"Yes, Mother Miranda." The young woman said as she kneeled on the grey stone roof and placed down a slim black metal case with a crest of the sun with a crescent moon upon the right side of its face; the lib flipped open, revealing a sniper in pieces at the woman began to but it together.

In Romania - there is a law, it's not spoken but it is clear to anyone who wants to live to see another day or take another breath. This rule?

Do not cross the Head Priestess.

There is a high power over this city and that power doesn't belong to the mayor or the police; that power belongs to Mother Miranda & her 4 Lords.

No one really knew who she was or where she came from but the day she came to Romania, everything on its head - Gang Lords began dying one by one, the local police were less involved in certain cases and were quieter, the previous mayor was found dead in his chair and the message was written on the wall: This city belongs to the High Priestess... and that rule was never challenged. Mother Miranda ruled over the city for years and that city, and the power were divided between 4 Lords - the adopted children of the High Priestess.

The Eldest was The Countess - Alcina Dimitrescu. She was the owner of the Dimitrescu Winery and was famous for her Sanguis Virginis or Maiden's Blood Wine; it was unknown if she really used the blood of virgins to make it but it was very expensive to buy and no one who crossed her was ever seen again. She had 3 Daughters - Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela and they were just as cruel and crafty as their mother. Their Family Motto: A Rat Can't Escape The Dragon's Claws.

Then there was Salvatore Moreau - The Fisherman of the Reservoir. Anyone who ever talked to him would say that he was kind and compassionate but he was still a Lord. When someone would anger him or speak poorly of his family - mainly his mother - they were...well...sleeping with the fishes.

The youngest son & the most dangerous - in most people's opinion - was Karl Heisenberg a.k.a The Iron Stallion. He owned the city's industrial section and he was known for taking people right off the streets who were silent and boiled alive in molten metal.

And the last lord?

She was here right now - assembling a sniper on a dark roof.

She was Donna Beneviento - The Dollmaker - while she was a lord, she wasn't the current head of her Mafia. When her family was killed, she was a child - locked away and experimented on - and far too young to lead the Beneviento Mafia and was hidden away but Mother Miranda saw her potential and gave her use as the Silent Sniper.

Tonight's target was a traitor who spoke to the police to try to give them information about The Lords and Mother Miranda - information worth dying for. Miranda sent Donna to silence him.

"Assembled and aiming." Donna said as she moved to the side of the building and aimed for the window of the target - who was currently sitting at his table with stacks of paper in this hands.

"Good - take the shoot and make sure to recover the information." Mother Miranda said to her adopted daughter.

"I've already sent Angie in; she'll retrieve the info when I take the shot," Donna said as she looked through the scoop with her unmarked eyes - her lollipop moving from cheek to cheek. Her finger was gliding over the trigger when suddenly the lights in the apartment were blacked...

He was dressed in a black suit with his hands behind his back and a wolf skeleton mask on his face. He just stood there and didn't say anything.

"Where is the information?" Donna questioned with her eye narrowed.

"Donna Beneviento - 2nd Adopted Child of Mother Miranda - Last Living of the Beneviento Bloodline - A.K.A The Dollmaker." The man spoke.

"You know too much." Donna glared at him was about to pull the trigger when he moved his right hand from behind his back to show...

It was a cold, cloudy night in Skyrim, one were no matter where you went it was dim and dreary. A light mist dampened the heads of anyone outside.

Three figures, two children and a man, were out walking the footpath near Lakeview Manor. The boy and girl were bundled up in cloaks and warm clothes while their father wore red and black armor underneath a dark grey cloak. An ebony sword hung from his hip, ready in case a creature attacked.

“Papa, what plant is that?” The little girl asked while pointing to a large purple flower. The man chuckled and knelt down beside his daughter.

“This, Sofie, is called a Deathbell. They’re used to create poisons.” Sofie quickly pulled her hand away from where she was touching the petals of the bell-shaped flower. The boy ran ahead and froze when he heard a branch snap.

“Papa, there’s something moving in the bushes over there.” The boy pointed at a large bush, and y/n put his hand on his sword hilt. It was probably nothing, but in Tamriel there was always a chance it was something.

“It’s probably just an elk. Trust me, they’re more afraid of me than you are of them.” No sooner had y/n said this than a large form crashed out from the foliage. Standing before the family, the werewolf let out a loud howl and charged.

“Papa!”

“Alesan, Sofie, behind me!” The two children ducked behind their father, and y/n pulled his sword from its scabbard. Lightning flickered at his fingertips, and without hesitation he shocked the charging werewolf.

The werewolf howled in pain and snarled, raising it’s claws to swipe at the man. Y/n pushed his children back and raised his sword, the metal screeching as the werewolf’s claws ran down the blade.

“Alesan, take your sister and get back to the house!” The boy opened his mouth to protest.

“But papa—”

“NOW!” The two children took off running towards the manor. As soon as they were out of sight, y/n spoke to the werewolf again.

“My children don’t need to see their father become a monster.” Shadows gathered around y/n, then dispersed quickly as wings burst from his back. His skin paled, his eyes flowed a deep red, his canines became long and razor sharp, and his hands became clawed. The vampire lord let out a bellowing roar, and flew at the werewolf.

The werewolf had only seconds to react. It was not enough. The pale, clawed hand of the vampire wrapped around it’s throat and hurled the werewolf into a nearby tree. The tree splintered and fell, the werewolf collapsing at its base. Y/n grabbed the werewolf again and slammed it once, twice, thrice against the ground, each time cracking the earth with the impact.

The werewolf lost consciousness, staring up at the vampire lord above it.

Aela groaned as she opened her eyes. Her head was pounding, and her ribs ached like a boulder had landed on her. The faint light from a torch barely illuminated a ring of stones surrounding where she laid, bound by cords, on a table in the middle. The scent of blood lingered, and turning her head Aela could see the body of a mage covered in blood with their throat ripped out.

“I see you’re awake.” Twisting her head around as far as she could, Aela saw the form of a man lurking in the darkness. She could only just make out his features, nothing definitive that could identify him except a red glow were his eyes should be.

“Who are you?”

“A question I might ask you, werewolf. Normally I would just kill you and dispose of the corpse, but I recognize that dagger you carry.” The man picked up a dagger—her dagger, Aela realized—and twirled it around idly. “Skyforge steel? Very few people have the honor to carry one of these.”

“Unbind me and I’ll show you just how much honor I have.” The man seemed unfazed by her threatening tone.

“Answer me first. Why was a werewolf attacking my children and myself?” A faint breeze blew towards Aela from the direction the man was standing in.

“If I attacked your family, it was an accident.” Aela sniffed the air, and scowled at the scent carried from the man. Death and blood, and the stale scent of long dead blood. “I know what you are. You’re a vampire. No doubt your ‘children’ are just your former meals turned undead.”

No sooner had the words left Aela than the vampire was baring his fangs an inch from her face. Even in the dim torchlight, she could tell he was handsome. Sharp cheekbones and his y/h/l, y/h/c hair made for quite the fetching combination were it not for the burning red of his eyes.

“My children are only ten. Barely old enough to play with wooden swords, much less be vampires.” Aela glared up at the vampire, then closed her eyes and sighed.

“Listen, my name is Aela of the Companions. I didn’t mean to attack your children or you. Now can you please untie me and we can forget we met one another?” The vampire stared at her suspiciously, then straightened himself up.

“Here.” In the blink of an eye, the cords binding Aela to the were cut. She sat up, wincing at her aching ribs. Her dagger was handed back to her. As soon as Aela stood up she tumbled to the ground, sharp pains emitting from her torso. Broken ribs. As if tonight wasn’t bad enough.

“Let me help you.” A pale hand was offered to Aela. She took it, and the vampire wrapped his arm around her before leading her down an overgrown path.

“I’ve told you my name, but you haven’t told me yours. Who are you?” The vampire was silent for some time before he answered.

“My name is y/n, of the Volkihar clan.” Aela’s brow knit together in confusion.

“The Volkihar?” Y/n adjusted his arm around Aela’s shoulder.

“An old group of vampires.”

“So why come here?”

“Needed a change of scenery.” A large home loomed in front of the pair. Y/n guided Aela up the steps and opened the front door. The inside smelled of woodsmoke and dried herbs. Two children were sitting at a large table in the middle of the main hall, and rushed towards y/n as soon as he entered the manor.

“Papa, you’re home!”

“We thought you had gotten hurt or—” The two children became quiet at the sight of Aela. Y/n guided her to a chair and turned to his children.

“Alesan, Sofie, this is Aela. Aela, these are my son and daughter.”

“An honor to make your acquaintance.” The children giggled at Aela’s formal greeting. Y/n cleared his throat.

“Children, Aela is going to be staying with us until she’s healed. I want you to be on your best behavior, alright?”

“Yes papa!” The children spoke in unison. They ran off deeper into the house, and y/n walked over to an alchemy table in the corner of the room. He returned shortly with a minty scented salve.

“It’ll make your ribs hurt less as they heal. You can sleep in the spare bed.”

The sound of a baby crying was what woke y/n up. Groaning as he dragged himself out of bed, the vampire lord went down the hall to the nursery, lifting the infant from the crib and holding it close to his chest.

“Come now, hush. I’m here, no need to cry.” The baby’s cries quieted down to soft whimpers as y/n rubbed small circles on its back.

“Is everything alright?” Aela stood in the doorway, already dressed in her usual armor. No doubt she was preparing for another hunt, or going on a mission for the Companions.

“Yes, they just woke up. It’s all fine now.” Three and a half years had passed since Aela and y/n had met. In that time they had occasionally met one another in their adventures, then courted one another before marrying and adopting a baby from Honorhall Orphanage.

Y/n had entrusted Aela with the whole truth of who he was, the next in line to become Lord of the Volkihar after his parents passed. He had introduced Aela to his sister Serana—who had started dating a werewolf, funny enough—and taken her to see Castle Volkihar (from a distance, y/n refused to set foot in that damn castle again).

“Sofie is going to come with me to learn how to use a bow. I think she’ll make a fine Companion one day.” Aela brushed their baby’s hair out of its eyes. The child gurgled happily and grabbed at her fingers.
