Note
Would you like an Owlie cheat sheet for the old informal English pronouns?? (Even if you don't use them)
Thou: second person singular pronoun (replaces you) - used as the subject of a sentence
Thee: second person singular OBJECT pronoun (replaces you) - used when the person is NOT the subject (i.e. "I gave it to you" becomes "I gave it to thee")
Thy: second person singular POSSESSIVE pronoun (replaces your) - "Thou hast thy books?"
Thine: used the SAME WAY as thy, only in front of words that begin with a vowel or the letter H (ex "thine eye" or "thine heart")
You are -> thou art
You have -> thou hast
You see -> thou seest
You think -> thou thinkest
You would/could/should -> thou wouldst/couldst/shouldst
You listen -> thou list (i think??)
Basically the verb conjugates with a "-rt" or "-st" or "-est". Often, the letter E is sorta skimmed over so it goes to "thou think'st" effectively.
Keep in mind!!! These were INFORMAL terms of address. They are equivalent to the "tu" forms in French or other Latin-based languages. If someone is talking to someone above their station, they WILL use you/you/your instead.
Unless they want to be a dick on purpose and use thy/thee (Price would do that).
ANYWAY. Owlie looooooves thou/thee/thy stuff 👍
I just saw this OWLIE COMING IN WITH THE RESCUE!! Thank you sm i shall write these down
