ミ★ GOOD AS NEW... lorenzo berkshire
You carefully navigated the aisles of Professor Trelawney's dimly lit classroom, clutching a crystal ball in your hands as if it held the future itself—which, according to Trelawney, it very well might. You’d stayed behind after class to help straighten up, which meant the room was almost empty now, save for a few stragglers and the lingering scent of incense. The crystal ball felt cool and fragile between your fingers, and you found yourself mesmerized by the way the light fractured across its surface.
You barely noticed the figure moving toward you until it was far too late.
Just as you took a step forward, someone barreled into you, shoulder first, with enough force to make you stumble. The crystal ball slipped from your grasp, spiraling through the air before you even registered what had happened. You watched in helpless horror as it plummeted to the floor, shattering with a piercing crack that echoed around the room.
"No!" you blurted, crouching down, eyes wide as you stared at the sparkling shards scattering across the stone floor. The idea of explaining this to Professor Trelawney filled you with a strange dread. It wasn’t just any old crystal ball; it was her favorite.
“Are you blind or just in a rush to ruin someone’s day?” you snapped, not bothering to even look up at the culprit as you carefully inspected the shards.
“Oh, Merlin, I’m so sorry!” came a voice from above you, laced with genuine regret. You glanced up, immediately recognizing him: Lorenzo Berkshire. You’d seen him around the common room and maybe once or twice in the halls, always with that easy, confident air. Slytherin, like you, though you’d never actually spoken to him.
Until now.
He stared at you with an apologetic look. “Honestly, I didn’t see you. Are you alright?” His voice was warm, softer than you’d expected, and there wasn’t even a hint of that usual arrogance you’d associated with him.
You sighed, brushing a stray lock of hair from your face as you gave him a dry look. “I’m fine, but I can’t say the same for this,” you replied, gesturing to the broken crystal.
Lorenzo winced, dropping to his knees beside you. “I’m really sorry. That was entirely my fault. Here, let me fix it.” He gave you a small, almost sheepish smile as he pulled out his wand. “One second.”
With a practiced flick, he muttered, “Reparo,” and the pieces of glass lifted from the floor, slowly reassembling until the crystal ball hovered, whole and gleaming once more. He caught it gently and held it out to you, his expression softened with what almost looked like genuine remorse.
“There,” he said, his voice quiet. “Good as new. I… really am sorry about that. Guess I should’ve been watching where I was going.”
You took the crystal ball, feeling some of your initial irritation fade. He did seem genuinely apologetic, and there was a hint of nervousness in the way he watched you, like he wasn’t sure you’d actually forgive him.
“Thank you,” you said, tucking the crystal against your side as you both stood. “I suppose I can let it slide this time.” You raised an eyebrow, adding with a faint smirk, “But you should probably consider slowing down. Or, you know… investing in glasses.”
He laughed, a genuine, warm sound that surprised you. “Fair point. I’ll add glasses to my next shopping list.” His smile softened, a touch of playfulness in his eyes. “I’m usually more coordinated, I promise. I guess I just… got distracted.”
“By what, exactly?” you teased, raising an eyebrow.
He shrugged, a faint pink tinge coloring his cheeks as he rubbed the back of his neck. “Um… I don't know, just… my own clumsiness. Honestly, thanks for not hexing me.”
You rolled your eyes, unable to suppress a smile. “Let’s just say you got lucky this time. Next time, though, I can’t make any promises.”
“Noted,” he said with a grin, clearly amused by your feigned threat.
He shifted, as if about to say something more, but then hesitated, his gaze flickering between you and the crystal ball. “I’m sorry again… uh…” He trailed off, a little sheepish, clearly realizing he didn’t know your name.
You felt a small thrill at the realization that he was curious enough to want to know. You offered him a slight smile. “It’s Y/N.”
“Y/N,” he repeated, nodding as if committing it to memory. A small, almost shy smile crossed his face. “I’ll remember that.”
“Good,” you said, hugging the ball to your chest as you started to turn away, a smile playing on your lips. “And try not to break anything else, Lorenzo.”
His eyes widened a little in surprise, clearly not expecting you to know his name. But he recovered quickly, offering a lopsided grin. “I’ll do my best, Y/N.”

Without Saying (Floyd and Ruggie x Yuu)
"Oh can I help you? You seem to be lost." You attempt to cheerfully ask the vaguely familiar looking person in front of you. As if he is deliberately trying to rub salt in your wounds, Crowley ignored your request to leave campus for NRC parents day and is instead making you and Grim run errands. The person in front of you, blissfully ignorant to your inner turmoil perks up at your attention.
"Forgive me for asking, but are you the magicless prefect?" You and Grim exchange a confused glance. "You've got to be right?" They're practically glowing with how happy they are to see you. " Oh I'm sorry, I've just heard so much about you!" Wait, what?
notes: they/them pronouns used for Yuu, feral ariel (Floyd) vs light angst again (Ruggie). If you liked this please check out the previous parts on my masterlist.
Floyd
Under normal circumstances, a quiet Floyd was a suspicious Floyd but today- well today it was just odd. He doesn't look bored per se, just idle standing next to a very tall woman with similarly colored hair who is slowly, carefully, with extreme focus examining every inch of what you think is a novelty piggy bank shaped like the school's wishing well.
"Are you done yet Mamma?" Floyd sounds like he is being careful not to yawn.
"Hush now Floydie," she doesn't even blink, that's how tight her focus is, "Mamma is concentrating." Mrs. Leech's lips are tightly pursed while Floyd mutters something about going to get some candy and slinks off while you question if getting involved in this conversation is part of your job description or even smart. Unfortunately for you by the time you look back up from your clipboard Mrs. Leech has moved directly in front of your face in complete silence. "Human-" you go to scream but she silences you with a look you can't tell is from magic or practice raising the twins "Human can you help me with something?" She doesn't even wait for you to agree before holding up the piggy bank. "What exactly is the purpose of this object?"
"That?" You are surprised your voice doesn't give out entirely as she vigorously nods. "The piggy bank?"
"I see, I see." She nods sagely, immediately whipping around to where she evidently thought her son still was, shrugging undeterred as she decides to simply yell. "FLOYD! IT'S CALLED A PIGGY BANK."
"That's nice Mamma." Calls Floyd, oddly coming off as polite and rational from somewhere deep within the Mystery Shop. " But like what does it do?"
"EXCELLENT QUESTION! Say human what does it do?" You are deeply tempted to say that this woman cannot be serious but you don't really want to find out. You draw yourself up to your full height and nod.
"You put coins in it." Mrs. Leech blinks, a bit taken aback.
"Wait really?" Bravely, with a reasonable fear of being bitten, you reach over and gently lift up the top of the wishing well to show her the coin slot.
"I'm pretty sure this one plays a song when you put a coin in too." You explain.
"But it's so tiny?" She marvels, repeatedly opening and shutting the top of the bank. "How're you supposed to keep your money safe if it's so fragile? But then again I do keep most of mine with my husband..."
"Uhm it's supposed to be a fun gift for little kids." It occurs to you that she might find that offensive since it did look like she was buying it for herself. "To teach them about saving money, at least where I'm from anyway."
"Oh how cute. That settles it, I am definitely getting this." As if sensing that it is check out time Floyd shuffles over and immediately perks up.
"Little Shrimpy! Were you the one helping my mom?" He seems really happy, causing you to breathe a light sigh of relief. Mrs. Leech looks confused, zeroing in on you with the same concentration from earlier.
"Yeah. Trying to anyway." You nervously say; Mrs. Leech's attention turns to her son.
"Aww, how cute. You fishin' for a favor shrimpy?" Normally you would play along with his teasing, but your eyes dart awkwardly to Mrs. Leech whose attention is back on you, then the piggy bank, then you then her son, then you agai-
"Not really, I'm just trying to do my job." You awkwardly laugh and Floyd pouts.
"Spring or Summer?" Mrs. Leech asks cheerfully. To your surprise she has somehow managed to snatch up a second piggy bank within the .2 seconds since you took her attention off her.
"I'm sorry?"
"Oh just wondering that's all." She has a very serene smile on her face. Almost too serene. Like you just somehow signed away your soul because you didn't read some fine print. "I'm more partial to Spring myself." You try to look to Floyd for some context but for some reason, he's refusing to make eye contact. Weird.
Ruggie
"Thank you dear." The elderly beastwoman breathes a sigh of relief as you help her settle onto a bench next to the Coliseum. "Goodness, Ruggie warned me this place was big but I didn't realize just how serious he was." You nod, unscrewing the cap on one of the water bottles you brought with you for the old lady. She takes it thankfully and you breathe a gentle sigh of relief, not that Granny Bucchi had been anything more than a bit winded when you found her, but it was still worrying to see an old woman bent over like that. "I really should have just waited for him."
"Didn't he promise to meet you at the mirror chamber?" You ask, trying not to sound too judgmental. You find it hard to believe someone who spoke as fondly of his grandmother at Ruggie wouldn't want to escort her around, Granny Bucchi looks at you sheepishly sort of confirming that.
"He doesn't actually know that I'm here just yet, I wanted to surprise him." She tries to pass you back the water back but you shake your head. The two of you lapse into a comfortable silence, the sort you only ever get while relaxing with a cup of tea, or in this case a nice old lady who is genuinely enjoying the campus scenery. It's so nice Grim curls himself up into your lap for a little nap. Granny Bucchi scratches just the right place behind his ears to convince the "not a cat" to let out a very cat like purr.
"Did you send him a message to let him know your here?" You whisper, trying not to wake your baby. "If not I can send him one." She lets out a small laugh, similar in sound to her grandson's but still very much her somehow.
"Oh I am sure he'd be half way here already if he knew I had you to myself. Who knows what sort of ideas I could be putting in that head of yours." She winks and takes out her phone, squinting at the keys trying to piece together a message. "You should still send him one though, you'll probably be faster than me."
"Do you mind if I take a picture?" You ask sheepishly. "You know so Ruggie knows you're ok." Lies you just want a picture of you with Granny Bucchi. Sure, to Twisted Wonderland she is just some lady, but she is easily celebrity tier to you with how much glowing praise Ruggie heaps on her.
"Oh please do!" To your surprise she seems genuinely excited and strikes a little pose. What a natural, Vil has nothing on this woman. Not that you are going to say that out loud because you don't have a death wish. You happily text Ruggie as Granny Bucchi looks on fondly. "Do you like taking pictures?" Her voice is much softer than it has been in the admittedly little conversation you have had. "Ruggie sends me a lot of the ones you've given him from your ghost camera, I keep trying to ask him if you're planning on being a photographer in the future but he always dodges the question." She's clearly curious and you can't blame her, you just aren't sure how to answer.
"The future is a bit complicated for me." Is what you settle on, really hoping it doesn't loose you points.
"Oh you don't need to feel bad about that." Her eyes are filled with warmth and affection that you haven't felt in a long time, it's enough to make you want to cry. "Technically the future is complicated for everyone, some of us just muscle through it better than others. Case in point." Granny hauls her self up and nudges you to turn around. Ruggie is staring at both of you with a strange look in his eyes, but when he makes eye contact with you he shakes himself out of whatever mood that was and jogs up to meet you both.
It would be nice, you think, if you could do this again.
#twisted wonderland x reader#twst x reader#floyd leech x reader#ruggie bucchi x reader#first piggy banks are a big deal in my family#like everyone pitches in some loose change for a new baby and puts it in a baby bottle or something idk i think it is kinda cute#sorry for only doing 2 guys i ran out of ideas

Resident Advisor: Changbin x Reader
Changbin is your R.A. and also your friend that you’ve been in the talking stage with for weeks. When he has to do room checks and he finds alcohol in your dorm, you tell him you’ll do anything for him not to snitch on you.
content: smut, fluff, angst (reader is distressed) warnings: mention of bugs, college AU, kissing, oral (f! and m! receiving), alcohol, changbin has a huge coke can cock WC: 2700 A/N: happy birthday Changbin! I know it's a week late but I think he would find it in his heart to forgive me. also slightly ironic i was wine-drunk when i wrote this <3
Seo Changbin is beautiful.
This, of course, has been an undeniable fact of life that you have been aware of since the first day of your sophomore year, your second year in college when you moved into your dorm room.
The earth tilted on its axis when Changbin, your resident advisor, peeked his head into your room and introduced himself to you. He was a junior, a year above you, but as previously mentioned, a beautiful man with broad set shoulders and hair a color that fell between some shade of blue and purple. Your first thought when the R.A. had introduced himself to you was ‘damn, I need to spend more time with this man and get him to fall in love with me.’ But the glorious thing about him being your resident advisor was that he a.) lived in your dorm building on your floor, and b.) you had a free pass to bother him whenever you so pleased.
And you did, shamelessly. Anytime you found any sort of reason to complain or bother Changbin, you could just knock on his door or even shoot him a text, as he had shared his number with every resident on your floor. And while anybody else might have been annoyed by the constant pestering, Changbin always seemed happy to help, no matter how small the issue. If there was a leak in your bathroom, you couldn’t remember the number to reach out to maintenance, or your neighbors were too loud, you were likely bothering him about it, to which he would greet you with a smile every time.
One night in particular there was a cockroach in your room. The dorm building was a million years old and crustier than what was likely allowed by safety regulations, but you definitely had no qualms about bothering Changbin for this.
“Queencard, I’m the top, I’m twerkin’ on the runway, I am a queencard you wanna be the queencard!” You heard from behind his closed doors the sounds of a fast and catchy girl group song, Changbin’s voice loud as he sang along with the lyrics. It made you pause a moment and giggle, knowing if he weren’t the R.A. he definitely would have received some noise complaints himself.
Raising your hand you knocked on his door and the music came to a halt, Changbin opening the door while slightly out of breath. You realized that he must have been practicing the choreography or something, which made you grin a bit more before you remembered the situation at hand.
“Y/N!” he smiled. “What can I help you with?”
“Changbin, hi,” you said to him, slightly teary-eyed. “Roach. There’s a roach in my room. I’m just– can you help?”
He blinked at you for a moment, grabbing his keys and phone immediately before wordlessly ushering you out the door. He knew his way to your room already–as previously mentioned, this was not the first time you’ve bothered him–and he’s the one that bravely opened your door, grabbing one of your shoes from your shoe rack and holding it as if it were a weapon.
Needless to say, that night ended in girly shrieks from the both of you, maniacal thumping and stomping that likely irritated your downstairs neighbors, and, thankfully, a dead roach. He was just as disturbed by the situation as you were, and you couldn’t help the fit of giggles once the bug was dead that escaped from your lips. He was just so dramatic and loud after the fact, recounting how gross and evil the creature was. You must have thanked him at least a million times, but that night you went to sleep with a smile.
─ ⋅ ⋅ ⋅ ──── ♡ ─── ⋅ ⋅ ⋅ ──
You texted Changbin all the time now, about the most menial of things. At some point, you weren’t sure when the line had crossed from ‘R.A. down the hall’ to ‘someone you text about food hall chicken nuggets and professors that refused to round up your grades,’ but you weren’t complaining. Fast forward to now, soon to be fall break, when you (and you’re entire floor) get an email from Changbin about room checks.
You recall disregarding the email since you weren’t going home for fall break anyway. You’re staying on campus to get caught up on your assignments after midterms, plus a professor specifically requested your help in their lab over break for extra credit. Who were you to say no to that? You had already filled out the break contract, letting the school know that you were to be staying in your dorm over your break, so you had nothing to even worry about. Or so you thought.
It’s 6 p.m. on the first day of break. You’re being very studious, just as you had planned (scrolling through tiktok on your phone with your assignments pulled up on your laptop), when you hear a knock at your door. You only slightly jump out of your skin, not expecting anybody else to even be in your dorm hall at this time. You peek through the peephole and let out an excited gasp.
“Hi, Changbin!” you say excitedly, cracking the door open enough to slide out and greet him in the hall. “What are you still doing here?”
You should have made the assumption that he’s ‘on duty,’ but you clearly weren’t thinking. Here he stands, wearing a polo that says ‘Resident Advisor’ in your school colors, his name tag adorned on his right side. He also clearly wasn’t expecting to see you, however, eyebrows quirked and a playful expression gleaming in his features.
“Y/N,” he smiles as he addresses you. “I’m doing room checks, don’t you remember?”
“Oh, that’s right,” you say, mentally kicking yourself. Of course it was just room checks. Part of you wishes he was just here for you, to spend time over break, but you know that’s a silly notion. He has a job to do, after all. “Well, I’ll be here all break, so you don’t need to check my room. Good luck, though! Hope you don’t find anything too crazy.”
You go to turn and head back into your room when he starts to speak again. “Yah! Doesn’t anybody ever read my emails?” You glance at him sideways, unsure what he’s talking about. “Everyone needs to have their room checked, if they’re staying on campus or not!”
“What? Seriously?” you stammer. You really should have read that email. “Shit okay, give me like, 10 minutes to clean, okay? I gotta make sure there’s no roaches or anything.”
You attempt to crack a joke and he does smile, even lets out a little giggle at your words. But when he explains to you that he’s not supposed to give you time to organize your room, just in case you’re hiding anything you’re not supposed to, you blanche. You’re not even really sure what to say as Changbin opens your door and starts his room check, you standing awkwardly behind him.
You notice your mistake before he does, the large gallon-sized container of vodka on your dresser that you’re definitely not supposed to have. You really can’t even defend yourself there. You subtly shuffle to stand in front of the opposing object, staring down at your phone to feign disinterest.
“Y/N?” you hear Changbin call.
“Mhmm?”
“What’s behind you?” Shit. He totally knows.
“Um. Nothing?” He walks to stand closer to you, a wide but slightly sad smile splayed on his face.
“Please, please, don’t make me be the bad guy here.”
“Fine. Can’t you seriously just like, close your eyes for one second? I’ll hide it and you won’t have to do a ridiculously long report, and I won’t tell anybody, please,” you beg.
“Move, let me see what we’re working with.” With a sigh, you step to the side, revealing the extra large bottle of straight-up hard liquor.
He picks it up, giving you a side-eye with an exasperated sigh. “Seriously? Why?” he practically whines. “You’re really gonna make me get you in trouble?”
Fuck. The tears that prick at your eyes threaten to drop out and your face heats up. There seriously can’t be a worse situation that your crush having to write you up and get you into disciplinary trouble, all because you couldn’t be bothered to read a fucking email.
“Changbin, please, I’ll do anything,” you beg, dropping to your knees in front of him, your hands clasped together. You don’t even look him in the eye. “I can’t afford to get in trouble over this, you don’t understand. What if I lose my scholarship? Fuck, my parents will kill me. I’ll do anything, I really mean it. I’ll never drink again. I’ll pay for your laundry for the year. I’ll even suck your dick–”
“Woah woah, Y/N, it’s okay, I was just kidding–wait, what?” he freezes, your words finally catching up to him. What he thought was an attempt at teasing you, who had finally started to become his friend, had obviously gone a step too far.
“You were joking?” you ask, finally getting the courage to look at him. You swipe your arm over your face, using it to wipe away your tears. You look up at him with these innocent doe eyes that go straight to his cock, especially after what you just said to him.
“Yes, babygirl, I was just kidding. I’m not going to tell on you,” he says, staring down at you, the picture of perfection on your knees beneath him. “About… about what you said, Did you just say that because you were trying not to get in trouble, or… do you actually like me?”
“About sucking your dick?” He almost chokes on the saliva in his mouth. He nods timidly. “I meant it,” you confess. “I’ve liked you for a long time.”
He blushes, moving forward to run his fingers through your hair. You notice the bulge in his jeans quite literally staring you in the face and you almost can’t believe your luck. You’re really going to get the opportunity to get with Changbin just because of an (almost) accidental confession?
“You’re sure?” he asks, pushing back his own beautiful, purple-hued hair as he looks at you with lips slightly parted. You nod at him, moving to help him unbutton his jeans and he hisses at the contact of your hands against his clothed cock. “Fuck, baby,” he groans as you push his pants down just past his thighs, mouthing at him through his boxers. “Will you at least let me take you out on a date after this? This is really not the way I thought this would go,” he sighs, but his head is thrown back in pleasure nonetheless.
“Yes, Binnie, I would really like that.” You notice him grin at your use of the nickname, losing his resolve at your response as he pushes down his boxers and lets you get a good look at his hardened length. He’s huge–you can’t help but blink at him for a moment, his cock just so girthy that you have a hard time wrapping your hand around it fully. His length is definitely longer than average but nothing to blink an eye at once you’ve gotten used to just how much girth he’s got. You do take a moment to appreciate his large, toned thighs, running your hands up and down the muscles before you wrap your lips around his tip.
You set an almost brutal pace, eager to please him with your mouth as you use your free hands to help you cover what you can’t reach. You think about how much you would kill to take the time to properly worship him, every inch of skin and muscle that he has been working on, but your carnal desire and need for the man standing above you heavily outweighs that. He’s properly enjoying it too, a hand woven through your hair and breathy pants and moans let out at your actions, even something along the lines of praise whenever you suck him just right, and that just fuels your desire to do even better for him.
You move your hands to cup his balls, heavy and tense with the need to spill, and you can tell he isn’t going to last long. You barely notice his hips as they grind forward into your mouth, meeting you halfway with every movement of your head along his length. When you look up and blink at him through your lashes he explodes, finally spilling into your mouth with a loud groan. You help him through his high, making sure you get every last drop of him before you swallow, smiling sweetly at the man.
He helps you off of the floor then, hoisting you up and off of your knees. You didn’t even notice the pain radiating through them from their spot on the hardwood, far too focused on pleasing the man in front of you. He checks on you though, scanning your body for any insight that you might not be okay before pulling you into a tight hug. You smile against him a moment, pulling away to speak before he crashes his lips hard into yours. It takes you by surprise, not expecting him to still be so eager and filled with desire after you helped him get his release, but the kiss is both full of thanks and an unsaid desire from his part as well.
“Changbin–” you finally say, pulling away from the kiss in an attempt to catch your breath.
“You’re stunning,” he tells you, his hands falling onto your hips before gazing intensely, almost scrutinizingly at your body in a way that would make you self-conscious if it were any man besides Changbin. “I was really hoping you liked me too. I don’t text every girl on this floor, you know. Just you. I’ll only kill roaches for you, do it all for you. Can I? Make you feel good too?” He asks, still somehow out of breath and full of lust at the sight of you.
“You want to?” The words are barely out of your mouth before Changbin lifts you up effortlessly. You want to be surprised by this fact but you feel like that would be an insult to him, to his biceps that flex and bulge at the action, his muscles that he’s been working on very hard for this exact moment. Your legs wrap around his waist and he lays you against your bed, grabbing a pillow so that he’s now on his knees at the edge of your bed.
He wastes no time slipping your shorts and panties off in one swift motion, taking the time to properly admire your glistening core. You want to be shy but you can’t, not before he’s eagerly diving in and lapping at your pussy like it’s his final meal. You both let out a moan and some string of words that sounds like, ‘oh my god,’ and he’s taking care of you with the same vigor and innate desire that you showed him just moments ago.
He works you up quite quickly, his hands roaming all over your body in appreciation as his tongue flicks against your clit. Your hands occasionally fist at his hair and he takes a moment to stare at you with dark and hazy eyes before continuing his ministrations. When you get close to your release and your hips start to buck up he holds you down so effortlessly that it’s hot. You barely realize the way that he stares at your face once you reach your release, cumming all over his face as he laps at your core. He pays attention to every expression, every furrowed brow and sound you make, and he knows just when to stop before the stimulation becomes painful.
Sitting up in bed to stare at him, you watch as he licks his lips, savoring your taste. He pulls you in for one final kiss and you can even taste the way your flavors combine, moaning into his mouth at the sweet and simple action. He helps you to pull your pants back up and even crawls into your bed for a few moments, stroking your hair as you lay upon his chest. Neither of you speak for a moment, relishing in the post-orgasmic bliss.
He laughs. “Really? Tito’s? Is that worth getting into trouble over?”
You smack his chest playfully. Something along the lines of “Shush,” is all you can come up with.
“So, about that date?”
You might be in love with Seo Changbin.

Clementine [Yan Android Maid] comforting an anxious Reader
Word Count: 600
Warnings: None, pure fluff
-
“A clementine is a hybrid between a mandarin orange and a sweet orange.”
Breath in. Breath out. A delicate palm weighs gingerly to your sternum, another perched to the left side of your chest where your heart springs frantically against its cage. Together, they aim to steady the palpations of your heart - artificial lungs imitating the breaths of air meant for you to follow.
“Their growing season is limited. Typically, clementines are available from late November to January.”
Your chest swells as you take the first normal breath of several - the tremble of your body dying out along with your erratic exhales. Clementine extracts her hand from your chest, running her fingers along your arms till they make contact with your sweaty palms. She encourages you to squeeze with the slightly turn of your wrists - eyes falling shut as your nails breach her synetic skin.
“You're off to a good start. Forgive me - I assure you that my ramblings were not of ill importance or to take lightly of your struggles. Estimations show a distraction may be beneficial for you at times like this and I thought you may be interested in hearing some of the facts I've gathered regarding my namesake. I apologize for that as well if I am wrong.”
“It's alright…” A hand automatically rises to your cheek as you sniffle. You rest your hand against her as you sigh. “I'm glad you're doing things for yourself.”
“If it is alright of me to inquire, could you please tell me the cause of your troubles so I may assist you better?”
The crowds. You were out shopping with Clementine when you decided to wander off by yourself to grab something you'd forgotten. She insisted on following you, but you were firm in believing you could do this one task on your own. Your android caretaker practically held your hand every which way you went and while that wasn't a bad thing in itself you had to have independency somewhere.
The swarm of people swallowed you up not long after you left her visual line of sight. You thought about turning back, but with so many moving forward it was hard for you to push through. You eventually found a bench to wait the rush out, but it only got worse from there.
“There were just so many people… It was hard for me to breathe. I'm sorry for leaving with you. I thought I would be fine on my own… I'm sorry…”
The orange glow of her optics whitens to an almost amber color as she blinks.
“There is nothing for you to apologize for. It's normal for your kind… Humans, to want their own freedom. I have experienced that want myself in the past. If it means anything, I am proud of you for going off on your own, but I would also feel safer if you allowed me to be there with you. Nothing will hurt you so long as I am here. If anyone does, I will crush them.”
Clementine mirrors her conviction with a tightening of her fist - punching a knuckle sized crater in the concrete below her. You laugh, a bit catch off guard by her antics. Clementine is not one to be so expressive. She pushes dust off her hand as she holds it out to you.
“Shall we return home?”
You take her hand - lifting yourself off the bench. “I guess so- Waaa!-”
Pulled forward, your chest falls against her back as Clementine kneels to make up the difference in your height and sweep you off your feet. She hooks her arms behind your knees, standing tall all while balancing the shopping bags from your earlier endeavors on her shoulders.
“Are you feel better?”
Locking your arms around her neck, you heartily nod - rubbing your cheek to her’s as a sign of your appreciation. “A bit. Thanks to you. I'm glad we met, Clem.”
The hue of her eyes softens yet again.
“I couldn't ask for a better existence. It is you I should be thanking….”

Uncle Eddie (part 5)
Our Juniper is growing up 😞 You can read this chapter below, or on ao3. All parts can be read together or as individual stories.
Eddie was pretty sure that this was the most nervous he'd been in his entire life.
Standing on the Buckley-Kinard porch, flowers in one hand and a poorly wrapped birthday present in the other, he let out a deep breath as he waited for someone to come to the door.
When the door finally opened and Tommy stood in front of him, he felt about two feet tall.
“You are in some deep trouble, Man,” Tommy said, shaking his head.
Technically, he deserved it. It was all his fault.
Juniper's tenth birthday was the first time she would have both parents, and her Uncle Eddie, off work for the whole day. Everyone was going to be at the party, even all of her very annoying ten year old friends, but she was most excited to show off her firefighting family, which very much included Uncle Eddie.
Except Eddie, after a very long and exhausting forty-eight hour shift, was asked by Smith if they could trade shifts. “I only have a twelve on Saturday, and I'd be willing to take your twenty-four on Sunday.” And damn if that didn't sound like a good bargain at the time.
It wasn't until he got back from a call on Saturday and checked his phone to see three missed phone calls and five texts from Buck that it hit him.
He was supposed to be at Juniper's party.
He was an idiot.
And should probably get his brain checked for forgetting the one thing she'd reminded him about over and over to the point of Eddie having to beg her to please stop reminding him.
So now he stood at the door with apology flowers and a present that would have been awesome yesterday, but would probably mean nothing today.
“Am I even allowed in the house?” Eddie asked, Tommy already moving to the side to let him in.
“Well, technically Evan was closer to the door when the bell rang, but he went out back instead of answering.”
Eddie stepped inside but stayed in the entryway while Tommy closed the door. “How mad at me are they? How mad are you?”
“Mm,” Tommy hummed, thinking it over. “I'm down to about a four, but that's because of all the downright pathetic texts you sent me yesterday after Evan wouldn't respond to you. Juniper is probably a nine, but I think she's more sad than mad. Evan is... Well, Evan is Evan, so.”
“So I'm in really deep trouble.”
Tommy nodded. “Oh yeah.”
“I guess I should get started on my apology tour then.”
“Good idea. The five apology texts you sent last night are enough for me, by the way. I'd start with Juniper today if I were you. Evan won't forgive you until she does.”
A sigh. “She in her room?”
“Yeah. Good luck.”
*****
Eddie knocked on the open door, standing in the doorway until Juniper hopefully gave him the all clear to enter.
She was facing away from him, sitting at her desk and carefully applying polish to her fingernails. The knock caused her to swivel in her chair, but the smile she had faded quickly when she saw Eddie there. She turned back around.
“I thought you were Papa,” she grumbled out.
“No, just me. Can I come in, Chewy?”
She shrugged. “Free country.”
For all the ways she was turning into her own person, she still contained so much of her dads attitudes.
Eddie walked into the room and over to her desk, setting the flowers down beside her. “That's part of my apology,” he explained, then he set her gift on the other side of her. “That's for your birthday. Your nails look very nice, by the way.”
It was something she had been getting into lately. She loved trying new polishes. Right now she was applying a shimmery blue, and she had done so almost perfectly. She practiced on Tommy a lot. His toes had a new color every week.
The present Eddie had gotten her was a new polish kit that had come out. It was apparently a huge deal with tweens... and she was supposed to have it yesterday so she could do all her friends nails.
“I don't know if- if you know this,” she said, twisting the cap back on her polish, “but my birthday was yesterday.”
Eddie went over to her bed, tossing some stuffed animals to the side before he sat down. “I know, Juniper,” he started, hoping she'd eventually look his way, “and I'm sorry. I made a stupid mistake, I know I did. There's no excuse, but I am sorry.”
Juniper sighed. She stared down at her nails, watching them shine as she moved them around. “Papa told me I should forgive you.”
“That's nice of him.”
“Daddy told me it was, um, it was up to me.”
“That... sounds like your dad.”
“Then Papa told Daddy that people make mistakes, and a- as long as people really try to do better and mean that they're sorry, we should forgive them.”
“That's good advice,” Eddie agreed.
“Then Daddy told Papa that certain mistakes shouldn't be made in the first place and people should make an- an effort to show up.”
“Well, everyone has the right to feel however they feel,” Eddie reasoned.
“Then,” she continued with an exasperated breath, “they kept talking back and forth so I just came in my room.”
Sometimes Eddie wished he could be a fly on the wall to see what kinds of conversations happen in this house.
This was not one of those times.
“Well, Chewy, I- I hope you do forgive me, but I understand if you need more time, okay? I'll make it up to you however I can, but if you want me to leave you alone for a while I will.”
When Juniper didn't respond, Eddie got up and started for the door. “I'll see ya, Juniper.”
“Wait.”
He stopped dead in his tracks and turned to see that Juniper was facing him now. “Yeah?”
“Are you really sorry?”
“I'm really sorry.”
“And you promise you won't do it again?”
“I-” Eddie paused, “I promise I will do my best to make sure I never make you sad again.”
Her eyes narrowed. “That is- is not the same.”
“It's the best I can do, Kid.”
She eyed him for a minute before seemingly coming to a conclusion. “Fine. I forgive you.”
“You do?”
“Mhm. You said you'd make it up to me, right?”
There's always a catch.
“Yes... Yes, I did.”
She smiled brightly, folding her hands together. “Can we go to Fun Zone today? It's a trampoline park and it's like th- the best place to go ever! Can we go?”
Well, that didn't seem like too much of an ask.
“Sure,” he replied. “Let me clear it with your dads first, but I'm sure it'll be fine.”
She clapped excitedly, her nose scrunching up with her grin. “Yay! I'm gonna get ready!”
Eddie glanced at his watch. “We'll head out in a few minutes, okay? I gotta talk to your dad first.”
The look on Juniper's face changed. “Ohh,” she grimaced. “I think Daddy's more mad than me. Here.” She hopped off her chair and picked up the flowers Eddie had given her. She pulled out one of the miniature roses and handed it to him. “Give this to Daddy. It might help.”
Under any other circumstance, Eddie might have laughed at the serious expression on her face, but not this time. After all, Juniper got her stubbornness from somewhere, and that somewhere was definitely Buck.
*****
Tommy was on the couch reading a magazine when Eddie came out to the living room. “How'd it go?” he asked.
“I've been officially forgiven,” Eddie informed him. “Although it did take a bit of a bribe. We're gonna go to some trampoline park thing after I talk to Buck.”
Tommy perked up at the mention of the park. “You mean Fun Zone?”
“Yeah, I think so.”
Tommy snorted. “Oh, she's good. She is good.”
“What?” Eddie asked nervously. “Why?”
“On Sunday's kids get endless free ice cream. Endless ice cream, trampolines, they've got zip lines, obstacle courses, rope climbing, stuff like that. Add it all together and-”
“And she's gonna vomit in my truck.”
Tommy nodded. “I'd take a bag.”
“She's punishing me, isn't she?”
“We must all pay for our sins, Eddie,” Tommy replied, dramatically flipping the page of his magazine.
“Is Buck outside still?”
“Mhm.” He nodded toward the rose in Eddie's hand. “Flower for him?”
“Junie's idea.”
“Hm. Probably should've gone for the whole bouquet.”
With a roll of his eyes, Eddie turned for the sliding doors and headed out back.
Buck was sitting on the porch, staring out into the backyard ever so solemnly.
“Hey, Buck,” Eddie began with a slow approach toward him.
Buck said nothing, turned slightly to fix his gaze further away from Eddie, toward one of their trees.
“Just letting you know, I already talked to Juniper and cleared everything up.”
Still no response.
Eddie sighed. He scooted a chair beside Buck and sat down. “Buck, I'm sorry. I was overly tired when I took that shift and the party slipped my mind.” He held the flower in front of Buck's face so he couldn't avoid it. “Juniper accepted my apology. Can you?”
Buck stayed unmoving at first, but after a few seconds he took the flower from Eddie and stared down at it. “You only brought me one flower?”
“Buck.”
Finally, Buck turned to him. “That was a really crappy thing to do, Eddie. Junie looks up to you, she'd been telling all her friends about her Uncle Eddie. Told them you were the cool uncle that taught her Spanish, and then you didn't even show up.”
“Buck, I-”
“And I worked on that damn party for two months. You remember all the clipboards.”
“I do.”
“A vintage, early 2010's birthday party? That was the theme I was given! Whatever the hell that even means! Tommy and I spent two months figuring it all out, but all she'd ever talk about was the fact you'd be there. Tommy and I are just her dads, Eddie, you're the special, cool one in her life. You let her down.”
As if Eddie didn't feel bad enough already. “I know, Buck. I know I let her down, and let you guys down too. I'm sorry.”
“You should be,” Buck replied, face tense.
They were both quiet for a minute, until Buck's posture slowly relaxed.
“You know I wouldn't care so much if it was just me, but you hurt Juniper,” Buck explained. “She still enjoyed her party, but she was really upset you weren't there.”
“I know, Buck. I really am sorry, okay? I'm gonna take her to Fun Zone today for a few hours and- and maybe we can have all her friends come to the station sometime soon? Give them a class on fire safety and show them what we do.”
Buck thought for a moment, twirling the rose between his fingers. “And you'll be the one giving the class,” he replied. It was less of a question and more of a command.
“Yes, I will give the class.”
Buck sighed. “Fine. You're forgiven.” He pointed at Eddie, “Never do it again though.”
Eddie raised his hands in surrender. “Wouldn't dream of it.” He groaned as he stood, his bones creaking in ways they never did when he was younger. “I gotta see if Juniper's ready to go. Mind if I steal your kid for a few hours?”
Buck shook his head. “No, but... Wait, did you say you're going to Fun Zone?”
“Yeah.”
“She's gonna puke in your car.”
Eddie closed his eyes, bracing himself for whatever he had just gotten into.
“Yeah, I... I know.”

back to it — tooru oikawa x reader
a/n: woah hey guys !!! 2 years late heres an oikawa drabble wk: 1.5k reader bumps into competition at a volleyball meet. fluff. oikawa being a brat
the karasuno boys volleyball team pressed through the entrance doors to the unfamiliar high school, eyes gleaming with curiosity as they observed their new environment. the halls were stuffed with parents and friends waiting to support their players, sporting the jerseys of different schools. the line for the concession stand wrapped around the corner.
hinata was a few paces ahead, his head on a swivel as he passed all the players– much taller than him. his eyes gravitated to a particularly tall first-year, he was so fixated on looking behind him to realize he was running directly into someone.
“what–? oh my god! i am so sorry! i’m sorry, please forgive me! i wasn’t paying attention,” hinata stumbled backward and fell into a respectful bow, his anxiety swelling in his stomach as he clenched his eyes shut.
you looked over your shoulder at him, barely registering that he’d run into you by the time he’d finished his ramblings. you couldn’t help but laugh at his overreaction, brushing it off with a shrug and turning to face him.
he shot his head up at the sound of your light giggles, somehow more relieved, as well as mortified. he was paling with fear, taking a small step back and running into the chest of his captain, who laid a solid hand on his shoulder. hinata felt helpless, jaw agape as he made himself smaller and smaller between you and daichi.
he recognized the colors on your jersey, white with deep green lettering that matched the shade of your shorts. there was a volleyball tucked beneath your left arm and your fingers were taped together. hinata peeked behind you, where the rest of your team congregated at the water fountain to refill their bottles. there were duffel bags and knee pads scattered on the floor.
“you’re– you’re the iron wall!” hinata pointed with a shaking finger.
“hinata! it’s rude to point,” daichi removed his clasp on the redhead’s shoulder to slap away hinata’s hand. “y/n, i am so sorry about him. he’s one of our first years, he gets overwhelmed pretty easily.”
you laughed, shaking your head. “it’s alright. it’s good to see you, daichi.”
daichi moved hinata to the side so he wasn’t between you anymore, but the first-year still observed with wide eyes. you shook hands and, unfortunately for daichi, he couldn’t hide the way his cheeks flushed.
kageyama narrowed his eyes as you continued talking to his captain. there was something eerily familiar about you, something wrong. maybe it was because most volleyball players he met ended up being competition, but your friendliness threw him off. and he certainly didn’t like the way daichi was enamored with you. “daichi knows her?”
leaning into his teammate, sugawara answered, “they went to middle school together, or something, i think. she’s captain of the girls volleyball team and took them to nationals last year.”
but why were you so familiar to him?
despite how genuine you were, there was a cunning glint in your eye, subtle to his teammates and their lackluster observational skills. from behind him, he could practically hear tanaka and nishinoya reel their tongues back in after catching flies.
“you went to nationals!?” hinata interjected with an admiring gasp. his eyes seemed to sparkle at the mention of the competition.
“sure did,” you winked at him. he could melt right into his shoes.
daichi laughed heartily. “oh, yeah. it’s incredible to watch her play. don’t let her trick you, though. her mind games on the court are pure evil.”
“c’mon, daichi! don’t give it away, it’s more fun when they find out on their own.”
if it wasn’t for the buzz of conversation filling the hallway, you would have heard him coming– the fe, fi, fo, fum of his 6’0” stature. he was parading himself through the hallway in his freshly steamed volleyball uniform, so far unscathed from his morning practice. if only you could see him behind you, a narrowed expression of concentration and mischief, his eyes on the prize.
suddenly, it seemed as if the karasuno boys had spotted a ghost. fear struck daichi’s eyes and his words died in his throat, and your face contorted in confusion.
“y/n! it’s lovely to see you here.”
oh, there he is.
oikawa had sauntered up behind you, towering over your figure with a smug grin. he was as ecstatic as ever, eyes squinted with the generous smile that took over his face. it was a regular habit of his to mask his disdain with glee, one of the many things that made him unsettling to be around.
you did your best to contain your excitement but lost the fight against the corners of your lips curling upward. he was insufferable. your stomach turned and you straightened up, relaxing your expression as you turned to face the seijoh player. from behind you, daichi let out a noise that resembled uncertainty, but wasn’t strong enough to use his voice.
“oikawa,” you greeted with a thin smile.
“how was your first game? i heard it was pretty quick.”
“hardly a warm-up,” you corrected. even if the karasuno boys couldn’t spot the mischievous gleam in your eyes, it was clear you were ready to match his energy. it sent a chill down sugawara’s spine. “pretty easy to win when your girl's volleyball team only serves as your fan club.”
tadashi gasped as if the comment was meant to slice him, and was quickly glared into silence by his peer. the team couldn’t help but stay silent as they watched the showdown, the strife in you and oikawa’s eyes met in the middle like a clash of lightning, both of you trying your hardest to win the battle.
oikawa’s smile faltered for a millisecond, and your ego swelled as you waited for a rebuttal. “you’re lucky to hold down the fort as the sole surviving third year on the team. has it gotten to you yet? reining in all those underclassmen by yourself?” he leaned closer, down to your level, and his voice dropped. “they have pretty big shoes to fill if you’re gonna make it again.”
“h-hey!” hinata cut in. you and oikawa snapped your head in his direction, suddenly remembering he was there. “at least y/n has been to nationals! how can you call yourself the great king if you haven’t even gotten that far?”
there was a beat of silence. the redhead only met you minutes ago, hardly knew anything about you, but he would be damned if he let oikawa win. a smile slowly crept up your face, all the while oikawa was frozen in horror– possibly embarrassment if he’d ever admit to it.
you threw your head back in a bark of laughter, hugging the ball tighter against your side and resting a hand over your chest. it was hard to contain, and went on too long for oikawa’s liking. his ears were red, and he snapped out of his shock and faced you again with his nose scrunched.
“you know, i don’t call myself the great king!” oikawa cried, crossing his arms as he straightened up– ever so dignified.
it was the same tone he used when iwaizumi called him out, kageyama recognized it from the countless arguments he witnessed in middle school. oikawa’s pride had been swept away by hinata’s comment. despite how insignificant he found the first year, he knew was right.
the tension in the air has completely dissolved, instead the air filled with a playful breeze as you bickered back and forth. it left the karasuno team dumbfounded and awkward, caught in between it all.
“oh, but you revel in it, don’t you?” you said, almost in a purr as you grinned, narrowing your eyes and leaning closer to him.
oikawa stared you down, only lasting a few seconds until he whipped his head in the opposite direction in a poor attempt to hide his blush. you shook your head with a faint giggle yet again, relief washing over your body. it was silly to say you won the interaction, but you couldn’t help but revel in the satisfaction of getting him to react like that.
but now, like every other time, you had to be the one to clean it up.
you dropped the volleyball on the bench beside you and wrapped a hand around his bicep. his shoulders relaxed, and you turned to the crows. “sorry about that, guys! i gotta go, but i’ll see you after you win!”
“y/n! can you stop saying things like that?” oikawa huffed, his voice barely above a whisper as the two of you began to walk away. you cackled, and he slipped his hand into your own despite the steam coming off of him.
the karasuno team was left dumbfounded as they processed the events that unfolded in front of them. all but kageyama, who hummed with acknowledgment as the pieces started to click together. he slipped away to the nearby vending machine with the other first-years that had reeled in their shock (ie; tsukishima and tadashi) while leaving the upperclassmen to mend daichi’s morale. i won’t lie, man. that was a tough watch, said asahi.
as you rounded the corner you were greeted by iwaizumi at the end of the hall, his anger warping the air around him like a bonfire.
“oikawa! what the hell do you think you’re doing? stop messing around with your girlfriend and get your ass back in here!”
“why is everyone so mean today?” the setter whined.

For the Victorian Loscar romcom I’m writing, I am am brainstorming and this is what I have so far.
1. Logan in dresses
Dresses- gloves with lace trim, pastel dresses, corsets, silk stockings, etc.
Potential scene- Oscar having a crisis after seeing a bit of the silk stockings and making it everyone’s problem. He feels like he is going to hell for thinking about the golden haired boy that way. He thinks about undoing the laces on the corset and sends himself to church to pray for forgiveness.
2. Alex is the mom
Doting, teasing mother to a husband who is about to have an aneurysm from all the proposal letters. “I love Love”
*I just think Logan calling Alex “mom” would be cute and absolutely hilarious *
Potential scene- “Mom, please!” Logan pleaded, practically begging on his knees.
“Logan, if you don’t have a chaperone, you can’t go. Besides, your mother has an event tomorrow.” George remained steadfast.
“I’ll go.” Alex smiled, eyes filled with mirth and mischief.
“Yes!”
“My dear!” George whipped his head around with a look of utter betrayal. Perhaps stabbing him in the chest would’ve been kinder than the blow his beloved just dealt.
“The Countess Stroll has fallen ill so the outings been cancelled. Besides, the boy seemed quite dedicated in the flowers he sent this morning. Did you see them Georgie? They look like the one you sent me when you proposed marriage.”
3. Carlos being the biggest shipper so Oscar can leave him and Lando alone.
Oscar making his heartache everyone’s problem is preventing Carlos from enjoying his time with his bride.
Potential scene-
“What do you think?” Oscar held up a third catalog. “Ruby or just solid gold.”
Carlos wanted to cry, they’ve been at this for hours.
“Hmmm.” Lando pondered. “Maybe solid gold? It’ll go with more outfits.”
“Is it too plain thought?”
“Yeah, you’re right.”
“The golden topaz bracelet in the previous catalog.” Carlos joined in.
“Huh? Are you sure?” Oscar searched for the page.
“The sapphire tie pin gifted to you is blue, the color of Logan’s house. The color of your house is orange so you gift something orange.”
The British were so unromantic it made him sick.
Additional scene- “Oscar, go over there and offer to walk with Logan.” Carlos ordered
“Hey, you don’t tell me what to do.”
“Listen to me. You will go over there and offer to walk Logan. There is a rocky, unstable path a bit farther down where you will offer to help him. I swear if I do not see his hand in yours I will shove you off the cliff.”
Let me know what you think!
Feel free to comment in the comments or in the tags or just message me. I will respond ❤️

Pairing: Cardinal Copia x f!Reader (Curator!Reader)
Rating: Teen
Tags: meet the best friend, reader being goofy as fuck, copia being incredibly anxious, real friendship talk, dinner parties, terzo being clueless
Words: 4,829
Summary: Your oldest, dearest friend and the love of your life. What could possibly go wrong?
a/n: reader backstory tiiiiime, copia's really in for it lol
~~~
“Hey hon?” you ask, poking at your boxed salad with your fork.
“Mmhmm?” Copia responds, currently distracted by trying to recover his pen which has fallen and rolled under the desk. You hear a telltale thump and him cursing softly, and when he emerges, his biretta sits charmingly crooked on his mussed hair. Briefly you forget what you were even going to ask him as he looks at you with a soft smile before getting off his knees and plopping back down in his seat.
“Oh!” you say, it coming back to you, “I wanted to ask you…can I have like…a guest here? Like a visitor?”
Copia blinks at you.
“Visitor?” he asks, baffled, “Amore, you are not a prisoner! Of course you can have someone come see you? Eh, who did you have in mind?”
Part of you wants to casually say “my parents” just to watch the color drain from his face as he stammers but you spare your love the agony.
“My best friend,” you say, halfway through a bite of lettuce, “Lydia? I’m sure I’ve mentioned her before. She’s um, going to be in the area for a work conference and wanted to spend a few days with me. I just didn’t know what the protocol was for that. I mean, Sister Imperator isn’t going to shit her pants is she?”
“Ah,” he waves his hand dismissively, “siblings’ families visit them all the time, why should you be any different? And we have nothing to hide. We would welcome her with open arms.”
Your shoulders sag in relief.
“Okay good, because she’s coming next week and I’m going to be honest with you, asking for permission was kind of a formality. I was going to do it either way.”
Copia laughs.
“Taking the ‘better to ask for forgiveness’ route, huh? I admire that. I suppose we won’t sacrifice her in some arcane ritual now.”
It’s your turn to laugh.
“Uh, I don’t know that you could handle that. She’s a fighter, through and through. She’d definitely kick your ass.”
He frowns and presses a gloved hand to his chest.
“Cara, you wound me. Are you implying that I could not defend your honor?”
“Cope, I saw Secondo grab your hands and slap you while saying ‘stop hitting yourself’ for ten minutes after you pissed him off at the last Uno night. Respectfully, you are a lover, not a fighter.”
“Oh, but what a lover I am, eh? Everyone else on your floor probably heard what I did to you last night hehe–”
“Copia,” you say, blushing as you stab a garbanzo bean, “you’re starting to sound like Terzo.”
He actually gasps at that.
“Fuck the thing about fighting, now you’ve really offended me, dolcezza,” he says gruffly, returning to his own lunch, “but please tell your friend she is welcome here. Any friend of my amore’s is a friend of mine.”
You smile tightly.
“I sure hope so,” you say under your breath.
___
Copia’s nervous.
He hasn’t been this nervous in a long time - probably since before the two of you started dating - and he can feel the sweat accumulate on his palms underneath the leather of his gloves. He looks over to you, excitedly bouncing on the balls of your feet. When you look at him, you give him a wide smile.
“Are you nervous?” you ask, reaching a hand out to cup his elbow. A rivulet of sweat rolls down his back under his cassock. He smiles. Nervously.
“No, no, of course not. You don’t look excited at all, though.”
You giggle.
“I haven’t seen her since I went back home for Christmas! And so much has changed since then. That was right before we got together. I’ve told her all about you, by the way.”
He chuckles weakly but in your giddiness you don’t notice his discomfort. A car pulls into the long driveway and his heart plunges into his stomach. You’re practically vibrating at this point watching the car come closer and closer until it’s pulling in front of the steps the two of you are standing on. You don’t wait for her to get out of the car, instead flying down the stairs to meet her at the door. When she opens it you let out a high-pitched shriek.
“Hold on, let me get out of the damn car,” he hears a deep, amused, female voice speak. The woman that emerges is…not what he pictured. She’s tall - taller than him (though Secondo would say that’s no feat), broad shouldered, and muscular. Her dark curly hair streaked with bright red is piled on top of her head in a bun and before he can make any other observations, you throw yourself into her arms.
“Hey, babygirl,” she laughs, pulling you in for a tight hug and kissing you on top of your head, “I missed you.”
“Missed you more!” he hears you wail as the two of you rock back and forth in your embrace. He fiddles with his cuffs, unsure of whether he should introduce himself now or–
“You must be him,” she says, her tone shifting entirely. Copia blanches.
“Yes! This is–c’mere,” you say, gesturing to him to come down to where the two of you stand, “this is Cardinal Copia. Copia, this is Lydia Morales, my angel and dearest friend.”
He bows slightly.
“It’s eh, a pleasure to meet you, signorina,” he says, reaching out his hand. Lydia looks down at it and takes it in her own. Giving him a tight smirk, she squeezes in a hard enough handshake that he lets out an undignified squeak similar to one of his rats.
“Pleasure’s all mine…Cardinal.” The slight sneer in her voice when she addresses him immediately lets him know that this is going to be a long three days. When she mercifully releases his hand he flexes his fingers in an attempt to get feeling back in them. Lydia’s shrewd, dark eyes stare him down, sweeping over his appearance.
“Um,” you say, clearly thrown by the tension between your lover and your friend, “L-let me help you with your bag, Lyd. There’s a guest room for you all ready.”
“No need,” Lydia says, walking over to the trunk and smacking it firmly. The ghoul, still in the driver seat, pops it and she hauls an overstuffed carry-on out as if it’s made of air.
“Oh, making me swoon,” you say with a smile, nudging her arm.
“I live to please, doll,” Lydia smirks as the three of you head up the steps, “this is quite a place.”
“Isn’t it?” you open the heavy front door and usher everyone inside, “Lydia you will not believe the architecture and the art here, it’s Heaven!”
“Wouldn’t ‘Hell’ be more appropriate,” she says dryly, her eyes briefly flicking over to him. She brings her hand to her neck and fishes out a small, gold cross on a delicate chain from under her t-shirt. For the second time that day, Copia’s heart plummets.
“Haha, very amusing,” you turn to him, “My love, you don’t have to stick around if you don’t want to. You’re more than welcome to of course but I’m just going to get her settled.”
You must have finally picked up on his discomfort and he would kiss you right now if he didn’t think that Lydia would clock him in the face.
“Eh, I do have some things to attend to,” he stops, bowing slightly again to Lydia, “Forgive me, signorina. You will join us tonight for dinner, I hope?”
“Oh fuck,” you murmur, “I completely forgot - Copia’s brothers are hosting a little al fresco get together. You interested?”
Lydia nods slowly, smiling.
“‘Course I’m interested. I’d like to meet this chef you told me about - is he one of your, uh, brothers, Cardinal?”
“Sì, that is my brother Secondo. Are there any restrictions to your diet I should tell him about?”
“Not at all, I’ll eat anything that moves unlike this one over here,” she gestures with her thumb in your direction and you roll your eyes.
“I’m sure Secondo will be pleased to have a less picky eater join his gathering,” you comment then turn to him, “Alright then see you later?”
He nods, and when you approach to kiss to his cheek he does not miss the way Lydia’s eyes narrow.
“Eh, see you later. Ciao.”
He doesn’t breathe again until the two of you are down the hallway and round the corner out of sight.
___
“What do you think of your digs? Pretty nice, right?”
You plop down on the gilded loveseat in the little living room adjacent to the small bedroom where Lydia is currently unpacking.
“Real nice. This whole place is nice. Makes you wonder where they got the money.”
Your lips twitch downwards.
“It’s an old institution - as old as the Catholic church. You don’t ask them where they got their money.”
“Fair enough,” Lydia concedes, standing in the doorway folding a shirt. Her lips are held in a tight line and you know she’s holding back from saying what she really thinks.
“Tell me,” you say, leaning forward to rest your forearms on your thighs, “and don’t think I didn’t notice how fucking weird you were with Copia earlier, either.”
Lydia sighs and looks at you.
“Can I be honest?”
“Why are you even asking when you know you’re going to be anyway? Like I said, tell me.”
“He’s too old,” she says bluntly, and you recoil, “and he’s your coworker which is a whole other rat’s nest. This place is way freaky - I mean, a Satanic church? Girlie, I know you’re not picky about religions but–”
“And neither are you, so why is it a problem all of a sudden now that I’m involved with a member of one in opposition from your religion?”
Lydia sighs and rubs her eye.
“Because you’re my best friend? My best friend who calls me up one day and says ‘I’m in love with a Satanic cardinal who is old enough to be my father’ while being sequestered away from her family and friends for almost a year? Babe, tell me you wouldn’t be concerned if I had done the same. I love you and I love that you’re happy but I’m worried. Your parents are too, honestly.”
“You…you’ve spoken to my parents about this?”
“Of course I have. We didn’t see you for months before last Christmas and yeah, we’ve talked but I don’t know. Please tell me you understand why we’re concerned.”
“I’m in my fucking thirties, I’m not a child, Lydia–”
“Look me in the eyes and say you wouldn’t be worried if it was me.”
A beat passes. You chew on your bottom lip.
“Exactly,” Lydia says, sighing and walking over to sit down next to you, “Listen, I didn’t come here to be a buzzkill for three days, I came here to spend time with you. And you know I gotta scope this Cardinal Copia guy out for myself, huh? Make sure he’s worthy of an angel like you. Typical best friend shit, you know?” she nudges you with her body before wrapping an arm around your shoulders. You want to be mad but all in all…she’s right and you know it. Exhaling through your nose you lean into her while she toys with your hair.
“Please keep an open mind?” you ask quietly, “I know they’re spooky, scary Satanists and everything but…they’ve taken care of me all this time. Without Copia, I’m…” you sniffle, tears welling in your eyes, “I’m not even sure I’d be alive right now. You two are everything to me. Both of you.”
“Alright,” Lydia says softly, kissing you on top of your head, “whatever my girl wants. I promise I won’t grill him too hard.”
“Thank you,” you say, “you’re more than welcome to…I don’t know, suss out his intentions or whatever but remember that I love him. So don’t do that weird thing where you offer to crack people’s backs by picking them up around him or anything, okay? He’s already petrified of you.”
Lydia laughs and shoves you away.
“Hey fuck you, that’s my go-to party trick. Ladies love it.”
You roll your eyes.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever. Are you done unpacking? I want to show this place off to you before we head to this dinner thing.”
“Let me freshen up and change clothes and I’m all yours.”
“Now that’s what I like to hear.”
___
“So, Terzo is the oldest one.”
“No, Primo is the oldest one. Secondo is uh…second, then Terzo, then Copia.”
“Shit, sorry. And they’re all Satanic popes?”
“Terzo is the current one, Primo and Secondo are…retired. And Copia’s a cardinal, you know that.”
“Right, right. Sounds like a lot of fucking dudes, just like the Catholic side. Where are the women at?”
“They’re around, trust me. Not sure if Sister Imperator is going to be in attendance tonight but she’s pretty high up there, I think. There’s a few female cardinals too but I haven’t really gotten the chance to know them outside of passing them in the hall. And then there’s the sisters too, I– Lydia, don’t.”
“What?” Lydia asks with a sly grin, waggling her eyebrows, “Sisters huh? You know I always had a thing for–”
“And you talk about me having a weird priest fetish?” you whisper, holding back a laugh, “Down, girl.”
As if on cue, two sisters - one wearing a tight miniskirt as a habit and the other in a long dress with a very high slit up the side - come out of one of the seminar classrooms. They smile politely at you but when they catch sight of Lydia, their jaws drop.
“Afternoon, ladies,” Lydia purrs with a smile. You make a gagging motion behind the sisters’ backs as they giggle and walk away, occasionally glancing over their shoulders. Lydia licks her lips.
“Not you going full ‘hey mamas’ lesbian,” you wheeze, “I’m having war flashbacks from college.”
“What? We had fun!"
“No,” you laugh, “you had fun. You got laid. I sat at the bar and got mistaken for someone’s mom. More than once.”
“Didn’t help that you used to dress like a senator when we went to the club,” Lydia says with a smile, causing you to whip around and point at her accusingly.
“First of all, business casual was the club look back then and you know that, and second of all, fuck you very much.”
Grinning, Lydia wraps an arm around your shoulders and deposits a wet kiss at your temple.
“You haven’t changed a bit,” she says as you march down the hall side by side, “Should I tell Copia about that time we made out senior year or…”
Your face goes ghostly white.
“Lydia Rosa Morales that was one time and I had a lot of vodka and-and you said—“
“Oh I know what I said,” Lydia agrees, “but what if I changed my mind, hmm? What if I want you all to myself?”
“Lydia do not even go there I—“
“Christ, please unclench I’m just fucking with you. Been a while since you got a taste of your own medicine, huh?”
“God, now I’m really gonna let them sacrifice you tonight. See you in hell, you stupid fruit or whatever that meme was.”
“Wow, lesbophobia from my own best friend…”
“You remember I’m gay too, right?”
“Yeah but–oh. Hello.”
You’re jarred by how polite Lydia sounds all of a sudden until you turn around and are met with Sister Imperator standing there smiling and looking deeply unsettling.
“Sister!” you say, trying to recover yourself, “This is my dearest and oldest friend, Lydia. Lydia, this is Sister Imperator my uh…boss. Lydia is visiting with us–with me– for the next few days.”
“How lovely,” she says as she reaches out to take Lydia’s hand, her gaze directed towards the cross Lydia always wears, “Catholic?”
“Uh, yeah. I mean, I went through the whole thing y’know - baptism, confirmation - I just don’t really attend now unless my parents drag me. Mostly just like the art and the vibes.”
A silence falls between the three of you and you can tell by the way Lydia fidgets with her watch she is extremely uncomfortable. As are you. Where you’re slightly more accustomed to Imperator’s off-putting presence, Lydia is left uncharacteristically meek and quiet. It’s not a look you enjoy seeing on her.
“Well, just giving Lydia a tour so I guess we’ll be on our way,” you say with a nervous smile, taking your friend’s hand and gently tugging her away.
“Give my regards to the Cardinal, dear,” Imperator says, folding her hands in front of her and giving you a pointed look. The two of you haven’t had any real conversations beyond terse staff meeting discussions since the incident in her office and you swallow thickly before nodding. You don’t breathe again until she turns and clacks away on her stilettos.
“Bro, what the fuck,” Lydia breathes, squeezing your hand, “that’s your boss?”
“Uh-huh,” you say as the two of you slowly begin to walk down the hall again, “she’s…a lot. Listen, you can’t let anyone know that you know this or that I told you but…that’s Copia’s mom.”
“What?”
“Yeah it’s…a whole situation. I’ll explain it someday when you and Copia actually like each other.”
“You’ve officially given me a reason to get along with him tonight. I want the tea.”
You withdraw your hand and smack her arm with it.
“Because being the person I love wasn’t enough of a reason? Dickhead.”
___
Copia’s nervous. Again.
He had to slip up to his rooms to change cassocks after he left the office from how disgustingly damp it was and now he stands in the gardens watching ghouls set up a dining table.
“Are you going to help, or just stand there fretting?”
Terzo, doling out plates onto the rustic table, is looking over at him with an uncharacteristically furrowed brow.
“Ah, yes, mi dispiace. I was preoccupied.”
“Uh-huh,” he says, watching Copia reach the table and begin folding napkins while dodging eye contact. “You’re worried her friend doesn’t like you.”
Copia scoffs.
“Oh, I know her friend doesn’t like me. That’s not the issue. The issue is how do I change that.”
Terzo pulls back and thoughtfully rests his weight on his hip.
“I could charm her for you - you know how irresistible the ladies find me.”
Copia coughs, loud and sharp.
“Eh, I don’t think that’s going to work.”
Terzo looks offended and crosses his arms.
“And whyever not? You doubt my ability to sweep people off their feet?”
“That’s not what I’m saying, what I’m saying is–”
“You two!” The two younger siblings jolt to attention as Primo approaches bearing a vase filled with a variety of flowers, “Go help Secondo in the kitchen, he glamored the ghouls but now they can’t remember how to serve hors d'oeuvres and keep gobbling down all the prosciutto.”
Copia heaves a sigh.
“If Secondo can’t fix the problem, I don’t know how much help we’ll be but if you insist. Come on, fratello.”
___
“Hey, you look great!”
You gesture to Lydia in her linen pantsuit and she grins charmingly, pointing at you in return.
“Not looking so bad yourself, babygirl.” She reaches down to graze the fabric of your yellow floral sundress before taking a finger and tapping the delicate gold grucifix that rests on your neck.
“Huh. He give this to you?”
“Yeah. The night we first kissed. He wanted to welcome me into the family.”
Lydia says nothing, but the face she makes shows her equal parts impressed and wary. You loop your arm through hers.
“C’mon, gardens are this way. They’re beautiful, I think Copia said they were setting the table up near the orchards.”
The walk through the abbey and past the greenhouses is quiet, both of you more than happy to enjoy the comfortable silence afforded to you by years of friendship. When you approach the grassy area next to a row of citrus trees, you gasp.
“This is gorgeous!” you gush, and the tall, lanky figure of Primo turns to face you with a smile.
“Buonasera, fiore mio. And you must be Signorina Morales?”
“I am yes, it’s a pleasure to meet you uh…Papa.”
“Primo,” he insists, “there will be many papas here tonight and we will all begin to seem like the same person after a while. If you’ll excuse me, I’ll fetch my brothers. Please, please enjoy.”
He gestures to what you assume are ghouls - though they do not wear their standard silver masks - standing silently and bearing large silver platters of–
“Oh fuck, cheese,” Lydia groans, snagging a small plate off the table and loading it up. “You just gonna stand there, or…?”
“Yeah, I’m just looking for–” you turn around and nearly jump out of your skin at the ghoul who appears behind you, bearing two glasses of prosecco. You thank him profusely and hand one to your friend, who makes an impressed face.
“Salute, you little Satan fucker,” she grins.
“I’m not–ugh. Salute, dumbass,” you say, clinking your glass together.
“Bella mia!”
The all too familiar cry of Terzo rings out as he and his brothers head over to your nook. You exhale heavy through your nose and shake your head as he runs up to plant a kiss on both cheeks.
“Hello, Terzo,” you say, “This–”
You turn to introduce Lydia but Terzo has already swooped in and captured her hand in both of his gloved ones. He looks up at her with wide eyes, a grin playing on his lips.
“Oh, here we go,” you mutter under your breath.
“This Amazonian beauty must be your darling amica, Lydia. Signorina it is my honor and pleasure to make your acquaintance. I…am Terzo Emeritus.”
When he bends to place a kiss to the back of her hand you force yourself to take a sip of prosecco to keep from laughing at her expression. She looks over at you and smiles wide with a wink.
“Signore Terzo, the pleasure is all mine,” she murmurs, fluttering her eyelashes. Oh Lord. You walk away and spot Copia speaking quietly with Secondo.
“Hello, fratello,” you say, standing on tippy toes to press a kiss to Secondo’s cheek, “Hello, my love. Everything uh…everything alright?”
“So far, so good,” Secondo says, eyeing one of the ghouls, “they haven’t done anything weird, have they?”
“Weird? Like ‘developing a twitch’, weird or ‘sacrificing a goat in front of us’, weird?”
“Either, but the latter would be most alarming considering that’s not something we actually do, piccolina,” Secondo scolds, and you smile.
“Oh, you know, sacrificing goats, sacrificing virgins, same thing right?”
“We don’t do that either, and you would know better than most wouldn’t you?” Secondo’s smirks at your gobsmacked expression as he walks away to see Primo and Copia sighs.
“Tell me when it’s over, amore,” he says quietly and you take his hand to press a kiss to the back of it.
“Hey, remember this is just as stressful for me too, right? Sure she’s meeting them but really…they’re meeting her. I would genuinely not be surprised if she’s got Secondo in a headlock by the end of the night and Terzo professing his undying adoration for her.”
Copia cocks his head, frowning.
“Does he know that she’s—”
“Nah. He can find out the hard way. It’ll be good for him.”
For the first time all day, a genuine smile spreads across his face.
“I adore you,” he says, leaning over to kiss you on the cheek and then dutifully wipe his lipstick off.
“Really? Hmm, had no idea. Come on my love, we have to be social at some point.”
“As you wish.”
—-
“You’ve been dodging me all night, huh?”
Copia’s eyes go wide as he finishes pouring his glass of wine and turns around. Lydia is standing behind him, half smile on her face and a hand in her pocket.
“Eh…no. No, I have simply been–”
“Dipping and dodging like you’re being paid to do it,” she smiles, “Listen, I get it. I’m intimidating, I know. But we all want the same thing here, right?”
“We…we do?”
“Sure - we want her–” Lydia says, gesturing over to you smiling and laughing at something Terzo said, “--happiness. You know we met in middle school?”
“Sì, sì, she said something to that effect.”
There’s a pause, and Lydia takes a sip of wine.
“She ever tell you how we met?”
Copia pauses, thoughtfully.
“I…don’t believe so, no.”
Lydia moves to stand by his side so they both have a clear view of you.
“She switched schools when she was twelve - I’m sure she’s told you about that bullshit she went through.”
Copia nods solemnly.
“Indeed.”
“Well she came to my school. Mid-school year…brutal time. Everyone’s already made their friendships - everyone except me. No one wanted to hang out with the beefy girl who towered a head over everyone else. I had kinda resigned myself to my social outcast fate when one day - there was a new face in class, sitting next to me. I was too shy to say hello but she wasn’t - immediately she smiled big at me and introduced herself. She didn’t fit in either, just a little too awkward and excitable about certain things, and we got along like a house on fire. She was the first real friend I ever had. We’ve been through everything together - made a point of going to the same college so we wouldn’t be separated. It’s been tough, not having her around you know?”
Copia nods slowly. He knew the two of you were close but his heart aches at the way her voice catches on the last word.
“I…am sorry.”
Lydia turns to him.
“What for?”
“All of it. For absconding with her attention and physical presence, for the shit you both went through. I…I love her desperately. I know I’m…I’m old and strange but I would do anything for her. Anything, Lydia. And I suspect you would do the same.”
She clears her throat and takes a sip of her wine.
“The way she talks about you…even over text it’s clear you have her heart. Like, you should see some of the shit she sends me. Real ooey, gooey, cringe shit. Up until you came into her life she always told me she had accepted the fact that she was just not meant to be loved. Which you and I both know is fucking bullshit but she really believed that. She really believed someone as kind and smart and pretty as her deserved to be alone. When she first started here she had such a hard time, you know? The depression and the anxiety and I felt helpless because I was so far away. But then she started talking about The Cardinal and how the two of you were spending time together and how giddy you made her feel. How you made this a home for her. And for that I’m grateful, so thank you Copia. And I apologize for my uh…gruff treatment earlier.”
Copia has the inside of his cheek wedged between his teeth in an attempt to keep from tearing up but when he looks over at Lydia and sees her doing the same, he lets out a little sob. She leans forward and presses a kiss to his cheek.
“Oh my fucking God, Lydia you did not make my boyfriend cry. What did you say to him?”
You’re by his side in a flash, thumbs dutifully wiping the smudged black paint from his cheeks.
“Relax, babygirl. We’re cool, right Copia?”
He nods and smiles.
“Yeah. Cool. She didn’t even threaten me once.”
You sigh and give both of them a look. Primo calls out your name and waves you over to the dining table and when you turn to leave Copia makes to leave too but before he can, a hand is wrapped tightly around his wrist.
“All that being said,” Lydia murmurs, very casual, “if you ever do anything - and I mean anything - to hurt her I’ll fucking snap your neck and make it look like an accident. I don’t care how powerful your Ministry is. I will make you bleed. Know that.”
Lydia’s gaze is intense and Copia nods solemnly.
“Anyway,” she says, suddenly boisterous, wrapping an arm around his shoulders in a crushing hug, “let’s go see the others. I’m not done tormenting your brother, yet. He’s something else.”
“Eh, sì he sure is something. And he hasn’t figured it out yet?”
Lydia grins as they march over to the others.
“I don’t think that man could recognize a woman who is only attracted to other women if I wore nothing but my strap and a lesbian flag.”
Copia groans.
“Please don’t let him hear you say that, he’s probably into that.”
For some reason the takeout I ordered is taking longer than usual, which is strange for a Tuesday night. I was told a forty-five minute delivery time, but they’re fifteen minutes over.
Now that I think about it, they did sound pretty busy over the phone, so I guess a couple of minutes won’t be too bad. Hopefully they hurry because I am dozing off a bit, and I’d like to take advantage of my weariness since Toji isn’t here to comfort me before bed.
Just being without Toji for three days puts me on edge, however, he reassures me that Naoya is on standby if I need anything or if I feel unsafe. Not like I can while being in our home. Living in a penthouse has its perks. Great security. Code required entry. I think I should be fine. And after the party a few weeks ago, I don’t think I’ll ever see Suguru again.
I curse myself everyday for succumbing to the temporary pleasure he provided me those two times we had sex. Honestly, I feel embarrassed. I knew Suguru was a bit clingy but I didn’t think about it at the time because I wanted attention. The desire. The chemistry. The mind blowing sex and how he practically worshiped my body. All of it felt good. Now, I feel disgusted.
It’s been almost two months since I met Suguru, and a month since I told Toji about my infidelity. He has admitted how much it hurt him that I stepped out on our marriage, but decided to work on forgiving me and move past it. I can’t say our marriage is perfect. We still have our small arguments, especially about me cheating, and I give him the space to express how he feels. I mean, there’s nothing I can say. I cheated.
Quite frankly, I’m surprised Toji and I are still together. Maybe something in me thought when I told him I cheated that he was going to use that as a way to finally divorce me. Because again, I thought he didn’t love me anymore. However, Toji made it clear that our love for each other should never be questioned.
I know that now.
A yawn escapes my mouth and I begin to wonder where the delivery driver is. I grabbed my phone to call the restaurant but before I was able to, a message from an unknown number came through:
Hi. This is your delivery driver. What is the access code?
Finally .
Hi, it’s 02315.
I go to the bedroom to grab some cash from our safe and hear the doorbell ring. I just know as soon as I eat a good amount of food, I’m going straight to bed. Tomorrow I have to meet with Teresa to do some nursery shopping (maybe clothes and shoes, too) and I need all the energy for our early morning.
Although I know it’s the delivery driver at the door, paranoia causes me to look through the peephole and I see the delivery guy from the restaurant, in uniform, waiting for me. But the moment I open the door, my heart nearly sinks to my stomach seeing the delivery guy coughing up blood and behind him is Suguru, pulling a knife out of his lower back.
He falls forward, food spilling everywhere along with broken glass from the pop that I ordered. He’s… he’s dead.
Suguru killed him.
I gasp, and numbness finds its way to my knees that feels like they’re giving up on me but manages to give me enough strength to put distance between us. How he slowly locks the door behind him while giving me a sardonic smile fills nausea in my stomach.
Suguru’s purple irises darken to the color of midnight as he looks over my body. I feel violated. Disgusted. I’m trying to control my mind to prevent me from thinking about throwing up, but the more he ogles me, repulsion flares in my gut.
A man, that I had sex with, that doesn’t know what no means, is now standing in the middle of my home with a bloody knife and an intent of I don’t know what. I turn on my heels to run toward my phone, however, he breaks the distance in three long strides to grab me by my coils and pull me to him, causing me to yelp from the sharp pain I felt.
My breaths softly burst in and out, and salty tears trickle down my cheeks just thinking about what’s going to happen to me.
Will Suguru kidnap me? Kill me? The possibilities are endless as they spiral in my mind, but really all I can think about is Toji.
“Shh, don’t cry, sweetheart,” he whispers, kissing the shell of my ear that causes the slightest hint of vomit to rise up my throat. “I won’t hurt you. I would never do that.”
“You’re hurting me now.”
Suguru lets out a breathy chuckle, almost as if he’s mocking me. “Funny. I don’t remember you having an issue with me pulling your hair when my cock was inside of you.”
What was I thinking?
“What do you want?” I ask, trembling.
“I just want to talk, baby.”
There’s one of two things. I can play along and listen to what Suguru has to say to give me time to think of what I could do. Or, find a way to get to my bedroom to get the gun out of the safe.
The former is my best bet for now.
“Okay,” I answered. “We can talk. Just let go of me.”
“Will you run if I do?” I shook my head, and although Suguru hesitated, he released my hair. “I miss you, Y/N.”
“You have a weird way of showing it.” I move to the other end of the couch to create a greater distance than before. Suguru attempts to come closer, but I put my hand up to reassure him. “Give me space.”
He nods. “Anything for my pretty girl.”
There was a time when hearing him call me his pretty girl made my stomach flutter.
I loathe it now.
“How the fuck do you know where I live?”
“Hm, coincidence. But be more careful giving out your code, angel. It’s dangerous.”
“Are you sick in the head?” The question was rhetorical, but Suguru felt the need to answer.
“Love can make you do crazy things, Y/N.”
I scoff. “ Love? Do you… think that I love you? That you love me?”
“I do love, angel-”
“We fucked, Suguru!” I yell at him, anger ripping through my throat and breaking past my tears. “I don’t know you, and you don’t know me.”
He shakes his head, eyes softening. “That’s where you’re wrong, Y/N. I do know you.” He slowly walked toward me and I began stepping backwards. “I know your favorite bakery. I know that makeup store that you love going to every Saturday. I know how much you love reading. How much you love ordering from this takeout place. Oh, and don’t worry, sweetheart. I’ll order you some more.”
“Why? So you can fucking kill the next delivery driver?” I retorted.
“In my defense, he wouldn’t cooperate with giving me your order. I told him I was your boyfriend and the fucker didn’t believe me.” Suguru laughs menacingly while pulling out a handkerchief to wipe the blood off his blade. “Says he knows your husband. Your fucking husband that’s a pain in my ass.”
Clingy wasn’t the word to describe Suguru. Crazy. A complete psychopath. He’s fucking delusional. For all this time I’ve known him for, the very little that I know, he’s been building this illusion in his mind that we’re meant to be. That we’re in love.
Where did he get this from after sex and a few conversations about sex?
On the outside, it seems like I calmed down, but inside? Fear gnaws me. If Suguru claims he’s not going to hurt me, why is still holding the blade in his hand after he wiped it clean?
I need to find a way to get past him. Think, Y/N. Think.
“There’s other ways to show me that you love me, Suguru.” Reassuring him to make it seem like I’m interested in building a relationship is worth a try. “You don’t have to kill to prove that you love me. I feel it. I know you do. I’m sorry for doubting you before.”
His brows raise in relief. “You do?”
“I do, Suguru. I do,” I say softly. “You were there to make me feel special when Toji wasn’t.”
“Don’t say his name, angel. He doesn’t deserve your breath.” Suguru comes closer to me and reaches for my hand. To keep the act that I’m on his side, I allow him to touch me. If I make it out alive, I remind myself to scrub my body hard next time I shower.
A slight shiver races through my spine as he caresses my face and sniffs the scent of my hair. Behind me there’s a bottle of wine I planned on drinking with my meal, and while Suguru takes his time embracing me, I grab the bottle and smash it against his head.
I don’t wait to see his reaction. My legs move on their own to where my phone is and I rush upstairs to my bedroom, but before I could make it to the fourth step, Suguru pulls me by my leg. And you would think he would be furious, boiling because of my betrayal, his anger is masked with a sadistic smile.
“You lied to me, princess. Why. Did. You. Lie. To. Me?” He asks me through gritted teeth.
I kick at him, hitting his chest and face to let me go, but he doesn’t budge. “Let go of me you fucking psycho!”
Suguru slices the back of my leg with the knife, deep enough to inflict damage, to which I scream in pain. But I know the pain is temporary.
While I continue to kick him, I throw my phone up the stairs and yell out to the digital assistant installed in my phone to call Naoya. I’m not near to know if it worked, but after hearing calling Naoya out loud, it’s dialing.
I managed to stand up on one leg despite Suguru still having my other in his grip, kicking him in his eye socket where it’s still bruised from Toji’s beating. Every bit of my power is used to jab my heel into his eye until he winces in pain and eventually releases me.
My steps are wide when running up the stairs, two at a time, to reach for my phone and rush into my bedroom. Naoya is still on the phone and I want to let out a breath of relief, but I can’t. Not with this fear rushing through me.
“Naoya? Naoya?” I call for him frantically, tears returning to my eyes.
“ Y/N, what the hell is going on? ”
“Please come. He’s here, he’s-” I yelp and my body flinches from the abrupt banging on my door.
“Angel, come outside. Don’t make this harder for us. You know I don’t like scaring you.”
“ I’m on my way now, Y/N. Go get the gun ,” Naoya orders.
The gun. Right.
I ignore the excessive banging on the door and head to the walk-in closet, going deep back to where the safe is. My hands tremble when putting in the code, but I was able to get it open. I hate using the gun, let alone holding it, but it’s the only chance that I have at defense until Naoya comes.
“ Y/N, talk to me. What’s going on? ” I almost forgot that he was on the phone.
“I have it.”
“ Okay, I’m fifteen minutes away, I’ll try to get there in five ,” he tells me. “ Just stay in the room. ”
When I’m back in the middle of my bedroom, it’s quiet. I no longer hear the excessive force on the door nor him yelling. Something doesn’t feel right. Nothing in my mind will lead me to believe that Suguru just gave up, but what is he doing?
Is he thinking that the silence will bait me? That he left? He returned downstairs? No. The quietness is making me uneasy. It’s too loud. Loud enough for me to hear how shallow my breaths are, and the thumping of my heart.
“Naoya…” I cautioned.
“ What happen- ”
The balcony.
We live on the highest floor alone, so there was never any reason to lock the doors. My head whips to the window to find Suguru with a sinister smile on his face, waving at me with the hand that carries his knife, like everything is peaches and cream between us.
I drop my phone and hear Naoya repeatedly calling my name, however, I tune him out. Shooting through the window is useless when they’re bulletproof, so I cock back the gun and wait until Suguru steps inside.
“Stay right fucking there,” I demanded.
“Don’t you think this is some pretty intense foreplay, angel face?”
“What I think is that you’re a disgusting piece of shit that deserves to die.”
He sighs, shaking his head. “I don’t think that’s a nice thing to say. We shouldn’t be hurting each other, princess.”
“Stop fucking calling me that!” He steps closer but halts his steps from seeing me apply pressure to the trigger. “I swear on my life I will put a bullet through your head if you keep fucking with me.”
“You don’t mean that,” he says, solemnly.
“Want to try me?”
He looks up in thought and I feel mocked for him actually considering taking a chance to step toward me. I can no longer be surprised by the extent Suguru will go just to prove he’s worthy to me, even if it potentially costs his life.
My reaction wasn’t quick enough to shoot him in the head when he charged at me, but I managed to get a shot in his right shoulder, causing him to drop the blade. It’s like Suguru is a beast and I am his prey, ignoring the pain that I inflicted on him to smack the gun out of my hand and pin me to the ground.
I try to fight him off of me, but my strength against him is no use.
“You’re being a bad girl, Y/N,” he rasps. “A very fucking bad girl. Why do you have to act this way, huh?”
“Get off of me, Suguru!”
“No! Why can’t you understand that I love you? I’m better than he is, sweetheart.” He lowers his face against my neck and breathes my scent in, whispering, “Ask me. Do you need me to kill him? Is he in the way? Just tell me, angel. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you.”
At this moment, I fear for my life. I think of all the stupid decisions I’ve made throughout my life and hooking up with Suguru at the bar two months ago is my biggest mistake. As I cry out hysterically, I call for Toji like if I continue to do so, he’ll appear.
And for the minute I am hallucinating, thinking it’s Toji that’s calling back to me, it’s Naoya still on the line. I didn’t get a chance to respond to him before Suguru grabbed my phone.
“I’m sorry. Y/N isn’t available to speak right now,” he says, throwing my phone against the wall, which breaks. He then returns his attention to me. “Anyway, princess. Where were we?”
Hell. . . That’s exactly where I’m at.
hi darling! i do see that you want requests in your inbox so im here to fullfil that want of yours :)
oh, btw i really do expect that you're well and, if you don't, please take care of yourself okay??
anyways, the request is for the arcana characters, more specifically for julian, asra and muriel (idk how much characters you accept for request but if you need to you can take one of these off) with a reader that does like art and try to make everything in their lifes a little bit more fun, colorful and artsy.
you can write in any format you're more comfortable in writing, but i think that maybe headcannons is easier. oh, and if you could do the reader gender neutral would be good!
oh and if you couldn't understand something, im sorry, english is not my first language. and if you want to, feel free to ignore this request.
AN: Thank you for the kind words!! I am doing well, busy but well :)) also you speak English amazingly!! Anyways here's your request <33 I haven't done Muriel's route yet so forgive me if anything is wrong :')
Headcannons: Julian, Asra and Muriel with an artistic S/O
—————————————————
Julian:
Honestly? He loves it!
It may not seem like it with the pirate outfit and rogue-ish lifestyle, but Julian is quite the colour lover himself. He just loves the energy and atmosphere vibrant colours bring.
So when you and him meet, and he finds out you're an even bigger lover of colours and an artist at that—the man was practically bursting with excitement.
Definitely gets you some art supplies. But since Julian has little to zero knowledge on being an artist, his art supplies aren't always the most helpful. Though you still appreciate him for trying to help with your hobby, even if his "paint" looks like it belongs in a potion brewing shop.
Practically demands to see some of your older art works and becomes sad if you say no. It's fine though if you don't let him, he'll find them eventually (his words, not yours).
Whenever you're painting or doing anything artsy, he's almost always by your side asking questions and just chatting with you. And as always you enjoy it when he's with you, it makes you feel warm inside knowing he's as passionate about watching you paint as you are about painting.
"Julian, I need you to-"
"I know, I know—you want me to stop staring at you. But I can't help it! You're just so beautiful when you're focused on something you're so passionate about!"
"...That's really sweet, but that's not what I was gonna ask. You're sitting on my paint pallette, could you maybe get off it?"
"WHAT—"
Asra:
You're an artist?? He's ENAMOURED already.
Asra adores everything you paint. He himself is a bit of an artist, but he doesn't paint as often as you since he's always busy with the Major Arcana amongst other things.
When he travels for long periods of time and comes back, he always brings you things like art supplies, trinkets or flowers, saying, "They reminded me of you." And he loves watching your eyes sparkle as you think of the different ways you can use the items.
After a long day, Asra just likes curling up besides you while you create your masterpieces. He'll bring you a warm drink and food too, before settling down on a blanket besides you.
If you ask, he'll give you some pointers or tell you what you could add to your work as you paint. He has an eye for detail.
"I think a few flowers would look really nice over here." He points to a certain part of the canvas.
"You always think flowers look nice in every painting," You playfully respond, and see him look away shyly. "What can I say? They really do!"
Asra could stare at your work for hours without feeling the need to look away. He just loves the mixture of colours and patterns you use. They remind him of the different realms and he finds that beautiful.
Sometimes you even use things from around his home for inspiration. It could be anything—his clothes, the intricate patterns on his curtains, sometimes even his tarot cards, and he won't say it aloud but it gives him a bit of a confidence boost. It's almost as if a piece of him is within your art work.
Muriel:
Muriel is a very... Dark and gloomy man in general.
The forest is his home, but not the pretty and flower-filled part, he makes his home in the shadowy, dark and somewhat dangerous parts of the forest.
So when you come into his life and bring all of this colour and vibrance, it throws him off. He doesn't know what to make of it. He feels to seen with all of it.
"What are you doing?" He approaches you as you hang a vine of flowers over the fireplace.
You look back and smile, "I thought it could use a little bit of... Decor..." You notice the way he frowns, even harder than usual as he stares at the decoration. "I'll take it ou-" "No. Leave it."
You're shocked, "Muriel, if you don't like it I can-" "I like it. It's pretty... Like you" He mutters the last part, so softly you almost don't hear him. Then he leaves. Quickly.
You smile to yourself.
After that you notice he spends more time with you as you decorate or make things, you even started asking him for his opinion on some things. He always responds with "Hm..." But you'll take what you can get.
Sometimes you take Inanna with you to hunt for things in the wild that you could use. Muriel was weary at first of letting you go with her, but Inanna seemed happy to go, so Muriel allowed it. After a while you even convinced him to come along on your art scouting journeys too. He comes in handy when you get carried away and find a little too many items that you need to take with you.
Oh and if anyone ever criticizes your art, no they didn't. In fact, almost as soon as they criticize it, they're on their knees worshipping you and the art itself. Why? Let's just say a big, terrifying man glaring down at you with eyes that say "I will rip your limbs apart and relish in every second of it" is not very fun.
Don Giovanni characters as fountain pens
I have long postponed making this post as I was afraid it might convince me to spend more money. However, armed with a new sense of fiscal responsibility, I think I am prepared.
I've tried to have a range of prices that roughly correspond to the status of the characters, as well as many different brands. Honestly all of these are just vibes, but I've tried to give my justifications were I can.
Leporello - Sailor Profit Junior in Kohiru ($60 as part of a limited edition set, including other products)
I know I just said that I would try and match the lower-class characters to appropriately-priced pens, but look at it. It has a bunny on it. This is the best pen ever.
Don Giovanni - Visconti Opera Gold in Red ($348)
This is probably the only pen on this list that I would absolutely never buy, no matter how much opera-themed branding it has, because it is a ridiculous price and also looks stupid. But "ridiculous price" and "looks stupid" are both things I associate with Don G, and he would definitely be a Visconti whore -- it's a brand highly associated with luxury.
My other choice for him is also a Visconti model, this time the Divina Matte in Bordeaux. This is an even more ridiculous price, at $796. However, it is less obnoxiously red than the Opera Gold, so it is an alternate. He probably would have both anyway.
Donna Anna - Nahvalur Voyage in Shanghai ($130)
I have this one! She is beauty, she is grace. She is also very poorly designed but I forgive her for that. This pen is super elegant, albeit large, and is made from resin with real diamond flakes in it. I love the color also - black, with streaks of blue that show up under light. It reminds me a bit of Anna's costume in the Kasper Holten production. It's simply a very beautiful pen (with tons of design flaws and constitution issues, grr).
The Commendatore - Parker Jack-Knife with silver filigree ($5 in 1902, which is equivalent to $183 today)
This is a very lovely vintage pen from the Parker company, of which I scoured this ancient website for a picture (https://parkerpens.net/index.shtml). As an aside, this site is great; it's very well-kept and contains a detailed account of Parker models through time, with pictures. This pen, though gaudy, is exactly the type of thing that I think old men who do things like duels in the middle of the night would have. (Please work with me here, I don't exactly have a lot of content to go off of :P)
Don Ottavio - Sailor Pro Gear Slim, Shikiori Amaoto collection in Kirisame ($360)
Honestly, any purple Sailor will fit for Ottavio. They're generally on the smaller side, but the designs have an elegant simplicity to them. Also, purple. It's him! It's just him.
This will probably be the ultimate piece in my collection. It's such a lovely little thing, with a 21k gold nib. Unfortunately, I will not be purchasing it any time soon, due to my responsible spending habits.
Donna Elvira - LAMY Al-Star in Black Purple ($48)
Also another model I own -- I swear by Lamys as a great everyday pen. They're reliable and ergonomic, even if they're not as visually appealing as some other brands. The Al-Star, being made of aluminum, is a bit of an upgrade from their plastic model, the Safari with a slightly higher price. I think it's very fitting for Elvira, as a travelling woman.
Zerlina and Masetto - LAMY Safari in Savannah Green and Terra Red ($19)
The Lamy Safari is my favorite everyday pen to use, full stop. It's the same model as the Al-Star, but made from a lightweight plastic. They have a very practical and minimalist aesthetic, but it works, and it works well. They're super durable and apparently can survive being run over by warehouse equipment. I just think this model really suits these two, or maybe I'm biased since it's my favorite.
In particular, these are the two special edition colors made to celebrate the 40 year anniversary of the model, as they were the original colors to be manufactured. The green (which I own) matches Zerlina's dress in the IvH production, which is why I named it Zerlina to begin with. That seems to have been a good name - although filling the converter for the first time was a dramatic ordeal, it's been a reliable pen no matter how much wear and tear I put it through (the black paint on the clip has completely flaked off by now).
Hope you guys enjoyed this tenuous connection between my nerdy hobbies that was actually just a vessel for my rant about how much I love Lamy Safaris. I had fun putting it together, even if a few of these are out of my price point right now. Maybe I will do inks next, although I have put less thought into that.
Off of this list, I hope to eventually buy both Sailors (Leporello and Ottavio) as well as the other Safari (Masetto), although that's not a priority. I just like thinking about having nice things.
I Choose You Wolfwood x Reader
A/n: Not a request but something I've been meaning to write when I first watched Wolfwood get introduced. This is much different from what you’ve seen of my writing so far. Let me know what you think! I try to do gender neutral with the reader but for this piece I’m going to make the reader female. Also mild trigger warning for those who don’t have a great relationship with religion. There’s a scene where I get into it after the read more button. Read at your own discretion.
You had no idea the impact that Nicholas Wolfwood would have on your life when you met on that faithful day. You were just an ordinary medic, except you ran away from your home and the religion that you grew up. You couldn’t take it anymore with their teachings and being forced to help people you didn’t exactly felt comfortable with. You thought anywhere was better than living or working with a cultlike community. Eventually you bumped into Vash, Meryl, and Roberto and managed to join the rag tag of a team.
You were traveling with them through No Man’s Land like any other day until you bumped into a man holding what looked like a giant wrapped up cross. You didn’t notice as you were bummed by the whole Jeneora Rock incident. It wasn’t until you felt a huge bump and felt yourself jolt from the impact and shaking your thoughts away.
“WHAT HAPPENED?” you asked as you saw a man unconscious. Meryl accidentally ran into a guy and you were panicking. You were not going to let him die on your watch.
“Hey! Stay with me! Guys I can patch him up but I need a place to work on him!” you panicked as you were trying to keep the man alive. You rushed to get him treated, and ended up in a nearby plant to nurse him back to health. Eventually he regained consciousness as you looked him.
“Hey are you okay? How are you feeling?” you asked. The man looked at you in a daze.
“Am I in Heaven because I’m looking at the face of an angel,” he muttered. You practically blushed as you were checking him.
“Sorry to burst your bubble, but you’re still alive. I’m a medic that helped patch you up,” you explained trying to force your blush away. You then found out how he was “a priest”. You were very skeptical of him as you were still wary of religion, and kept your distance. It wasn’t until you saw a child within the area who asked to help bury their parents and say a eulogy for them you saw this man’s true colors.
“Uh...Heavenly Father who art in Heaven...” the priest began.
“Forgive us our sins o Lord, as we forgive those who sinned against us,” he continued as you furrowed your eyebrows. That was not how the Lord’s prayer went exactly, maybe it was a different iteration?
“Please welcome their souls and the souls of all those who have faithfully departed...Into your...in your...what is it? Welcome them into your humble abode...into your prayer gates,” he said.
You opened your eyes to peak at what the heck this man was saying as Vash and Meryl were all giving each other confused looks. You knew for sure, this guy was not a priest with what he was saying.
“Deliver unto them...Deliverance...not quite but I’m getting there,” the man tried to continue but he faltered as his “cross” was leaning towards the ground as he tried to catch it. You couldn’t take it anymore as you and Meryl smacked him on the head.
“SOME PRIEST YOU ARE! THAT’S NOT EVEN THE CORRECT WAY TO SAY THE LORD’S PRAYER!” you yelled at him.
“Oh? And just what makes you say that?” he asked growling at you while rubbing his head.
“For your information this is how you start it! In the name of the Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit! Our Father, who art in Heaven,” you began as you did the hand motions to start. You recited it just like how your parents taught you all those years. Hell, you even added your twist to the eulogy with praying that the people who passed find peace and rest in their next chapter.
“Now that’s how you do a prayer and eulogy, got it?!” you yelled at him with your hands on your hips and walked back with the group. The “priest” just stared at you with a slight growl and tched as he grabbed his “cross”.
Little did you know after that whole ordeal, one thing led to another. There was the whole worm incident and how the man’s “cross” was some other worldly high tech weapon that can obliterate a worm. He practically rescued you when you got lost, and freed everyone from being trapped in the worm. You were just speechless when you witnessed him using it as he chuckled at your shocked face.
“Cat got your tongue angel?” he commented with that shit eating grin.
“I have a name you know, it’s y/n,” you retorted.
“The name is Nicholas D. Wolfwood, don’t forget it angel,” he replied forever calling you that nickname that irked you.
You’ve been traveling with him for quite awhile and started to learn more about him. Despite his tough exterior he’s got a soft side. You learned he was an orphan and how he had a soft spot for kids. Seeing him trying to get kids to look at the brighter side or cheering them up warmed your heart. It was one of the things that made you want to spend more time with him despite how much you bickered with each other. Little did you know your crush for him only grew bigger the more you spent time with him.
Eventually you started growing fond of him, and practically knew him. But he didn’t know you or your background. You figured you wouldn’t bring it up unless he did. You took a pit stop at a town bar one day. Both of you sat next to each other grabbing a drink, just enjoying each other’s company while the others did their own thing.
“Hey, remember when we first met?” Wolfwood asked.
“Yeah, how can I forget? We practically ran you over and found out you were a shitty priest,” you chuckled.
“Yeah, but you know something’s been bugging me since we met. What’s your story? You practically know religion from the back of your hand perfectly. Doesn’t make sense why you’re with us when you’re not at a church,” he continued. You gripped your drink slightly as you looked down. You knew this was going to be brought up sooner or later. You took a deep breath and gathered your thoughts.
“I ran away from home and my religion. To say my family is overly religious is an understatement. I practically grew up with it and was forced to learn the customs early on. At first I thought what I was doing was normal until I made some friends and realized the way we practiced was excessive. I was always uncomfortable with the people I went to at church. I never felt welcomed, I felt judged constantly like everyone focused on my mistakes and never my accomplishments. It’s like I had to keep up appearances or I get lectures,” you started. You can feel your hand gripping your clothes. Remembering or even talking about religion always made you tense.
“Sorry, it’s a bit TMI, I know,” you apologized as you took a swig of your drink.
“No it’s not, I had no idea you went through that. Continue, I’m listening” he answered as his shades hid his eyes and showed your reflection.
“I was sick and tired of being told what was right and wrong in their eyes. It just felt like I wasn’t living my life how I wanted. I wanted to be free, and decided to run away. I haven’t looked back since then and I’m glad I bumped into this group. I haven’t felt so comfortable being myself in a long time. I felt welcomed, and I can choose who to help instead of being forced to. I’m actually helping people who need it you know? So when you first introduced yourself as a priest, I was a bit scared of you. But after learning more about you, I’m glad you’re not a priest telling me my soul is going to rot in hell,” you continued as you let out a small chuckle.
“Can’t forget how you hit me when you found out. You left a nasty bruise that day. But I like someone who can put up a fight,” Wolfwood commented as he pulled out a cigarette and started smoking. Thankfully, he blew his smoke away from you as he knew how much you didn’t like it. You blushed with what he said and nudged him.
“Knock it off!” you whined as he chuckled.
“But seriously though, I didn’t know you had to go through that. I can see why you would leave. Sorry for bringing that up,” he replied rubbing his neck.
“I mean you were going to find out sooner or later, but honestly I’m glad I’m far away from home now. Meeting everyone here has been great. But I guess you don’t want to hang with some ex-church member after finding out huh?” you brought up and looked away from him. You understood if he didn’t want to be near you.
“I don’t care about that crap. I think it’s brave of you to leave something like that. That takes guts,” he answered looking you dead on.
“Wait, you mean it?” you asked.
“Dead serious. I think it’s brave that the person who brought me back to life did all that and is with us,” he explained as he smoked again. Maybe it was the alcohol, but you felt yourself get hot as a blush crept to your cheeks. You didn’t know if he was actually serious like he said, but you figured you might as well enjoy it before he goes back to being his usual self again the next day.
"Thanks that means a lot Wolfwood. I’m glad we met. I can’t thank you for the amount of times you kept me safe,” you muttered that last part thinking he didn’t hear it. You saw Wolfwood rub your hair and turn away as you told him to quit it. He then raised his beer and looked you in the face looking a bit red.
“Toast for new beginnings,” he said waiting for you to do the same.
“To new beginnings and good company,” you added as you clinked his glass and drank the night away.
~*~
The next morning, you went to go grab some medical supplies for the group before heading out to the next city. You wanted to go alone and not bother anyone since you wanted to take care of things as soon as possible. You were about to head back until you stopped in your tracks when your eyes locked on to someone you least expected.
“Do my eyes deceive me? Is that you y/n?”
You couldn’t believe that the priest from your old church was right there standing across from you.
“No, it can’t be. Why are you here?” you asked taking a step back.
“Oh come now, is that how you welcome me after we’ve been searching for you? After all, I practically knew you since you were born. We miss you and your parents as well. Why don’t you come back with us and leave this wretched town? You’re wasting your efforts on saving people who don’t deserve to be saved,” he offered.
You were practically frozen in your tracks, horrified that this was real and not some nightmare.
“That’s not true, I’ve helped so many people who deserve a second chance. You only let me help people you wanted to save and shunned people who really needed it. I had to watch people suffer when we turned them away when we easily could have helped them. What you did was not right or godly! You made people suffer!” you argued shaking from anger and fear.
“I see you’re still going through a rebellious phase. You should know that suffering brings us closer to God remember? As for helping people in need… You say that, yet how would those same people felt if they knew the real you?” he asked as you felt your stomach do knots.
“That’s right, no one would understand you but us my dear. A runaway who abandoned their parents, church, and community just so they can explore the world? I don’t think people would like that now would they? No matter, if you come back I’ll forgive you of all your sins and the trouble you’ve caused since you left. You wouldn’t want to upset your parents more do you? After all, they’ve been a laughing stock ever since you left us. Maybe they’ll forgive you if you’re obedient again. Even your friends, they’ve all been punished by your leave. It’s your fault you know. You brought this upon yourself” he continued as you felt the guilt crawling up your neck. You dropped your supplies and looked at the ground feeling trapped. He knew how to get in your head. You hate how he still had a hold of you mentally. You didn’t realize how your departure would affect other people. Were you causing more harm than good?
“That’s what I thought, I’ll take that as a yes. Let’s bring you home shall we?” the priest spoke as he walked closer to you. Your heart was racing as you were screaming to get your body to move. This is not what you wanted, but you were paralyzed with these overwhelming emotions and thoughts. Maybe this was for the best? Maybe you were being a burden? Did you even consider how others felt about you joining them?
SLAP!
You looked up to see Wolfwood was in front of you and how he slapped the priest’s face.
“Wolfwood...” you spoke.
“Take another step towards ‘em and I’ll be sending you a one way ticket to the afterlife, and I guarantee you’re not going to Heaven,” Wolfwood threatened.
“How dare you hit a messenger of God! You must be one of the people who’s been filling their head with nonsense. Let me guess, Y/b must have sold you the sob story about how horrible we were just so they can follow those selfish desires,” the priest hissed.
“Shut up! Some priest you are! You say you miss Y/n and that you’ll forgive ‘em, yet here you are making them feel like it’s their fault for everything? For the record, Y/n has saved more people than you can count compared to your stupid cult! I trust them more than someone who claims to be symbol of God,” Wolfwood spat back.
“And just who are you to insult me?” the priest asked.
“I’m the Punisher! I make a better priest than you fool! And for the record, you didn’t even ask Y/n to choose asshole! Y/n is a person who can make their own decisions! Let them decide who they want to be with,” Wolfwood offered.
“Fine then, y/n who do you choose? Your family and community that truly know you or this unholy man you barely met?” the priest asked. You looked at Wolfwood as he looked behind you with his hand reaching out to yours. The priest did the same as you bit your thumb. You then looked at Wolfwood again as he said something only you could hear. “Whatever you choose, I respect. Just know, I felt like I was the luckiest guy on No Man’s Land when you took care of me that day we meet. I meant everything I said last night. Anyone is lucky to have you with them, including me...y/n,” he spoke.
Your glossy eyes widened as you felt your mouth quiver. You were shaking, but hearing those words did something to you. How could you possibly forget about last night? The fact that he was serious and not influenced by the alcohol made you realize something. Wolfwood accepted you for who you were. He listened to you and gave you the time of day. He didn’t judge you when you opened up about your past. He liked you for you. You ran to Wolfwood and held on to him for dear life as you buried your head on his chest.
“I choose you! I choose you Wolfwood! I will always choose you!” you managed to let out as you started crying. You felt him hold you tight as he caressed your hair.
“Don’t worry, you’re safe with me angel,” he reassured and then looked at the priest.
“If you lay one finger on ‘em, or if I so much catch you trying to guilt trip Y/n again, I’ll skin you alive and play with your bones until you’re dead. You’re lucky I didn’t bring my weapon or I would shoot you on the spot. You got that?!” Wolfwood sneered as he held you close to his side.
The priest staggered as he took a step back and ran the other direction as he looked in fear. Hopefully that was the last you would ever see of him.
“Hey, you’re okay now. He’s gone,” Wolfwood said as you felt your legs give out from how mentally and emotionally exhausted you were.
“How did you know I was here?” you asked.
“You took too long and figured something happened. Glad I went looking for you,” he said as he picked up your things and put it in your bag. You tried to stop crying, but no luck. You then saw Wolfwood give you one of his lollipops.
“Take it, you need it after today. It’s your favorite flavor anyway,” he offered. You popped the sweet candy into your mouth.
“Thank you Wolfwood,” you managed to speak as you tried to stop the tears from flowing.
“Can you stand?” He asked as you shook your head.
He then picked you up bridal style leaving you flustered. You figured he was strong enough to carry you since he carried that machine gun of his all the time. But him carrying you? That’s a first.
“Save it, let’s get you back with the others. Plus, I meant what I said back there earlier. I’m not letting anyone hurt the person I care about so long as you’re with me. Got it?” he said as he carried you back to the hotel you were staying at. he held a firm grip on you making sure you were secure in his arms.
You held on to him on the way back just listening to his heart beat. You were lucky to have him. He kept you safe and sound after everything that happened. You felt yourself getting sleepy, but you also kept true to your word. If you could choose all over again, you would always choose him.
Part two?
———————————————————————
"Where's my darling little star?"
My head instantly snaps up from its lying position on my desk, turning toward the classroom door in search of my girlfriend. "Here I am," I call back, Tsukki's snicker following my eagerness. My eyes stay locked on her, getting more excited the closer to me she gets.
The sound of her jewelry twinkling against each other mixes with the beating of my heart, the anticipation of her short walk from the door to my desk almost killing me. "There's the light in my darkness," she coos, settling next to my desk. The compliment - and just her in general - makes my cheeks heat up, embarrassment from everyone hearing her swirling in my head.
Her hands are in my hair instantly, petting me and adding to the growing embarrassment on my skin. "Good morning, Tsukki," she adds, taking a moment to greet my friend. Tsukki nods his head in acknowledgment.
"Good morning, my Moon," I greet back, turning in my desk before wrapping my arms around her waist. I tilt my head, dotting her wrist and forearm with kisses.
Public displays of affection only add to my anxieties, but the small touches and kisses make her happy so I try my best to push my worries down. I always try to overcome them so my Moon can be wrapped up in a fraction of the intimacy she's always showering me with.
"Your jewelry is silver today," I point out, glancing over the bracelets my lips tumble over, the rings sliding through my hair, and the silver triangle earrings she has in.
"Iron and lead, darling," she corrects, her nails gently scratching my scalp. "My horoscope said that my day 'will be made of the light of happiness. Despite the joys of the day, decisional difficulties will arise, turn toward the skies for wisdom'. So, tin for wisdom and lead for grounding to help hold onto my happiness."
"And the triangles earrings because?"
"Triangles help manifest a solid foundation and wisdom as well."
My girlfriend is 'spiritual'. I'm never entirely certain what that means, but I've caught on to some of the things frowned upon in her religious practices. No blowing out candles, don't touch anything left in window sills, and under no circumstances am I allowed to touch anything on the little table with the red cloth.
The few times I've messed up on the last one, I've been stuck on my knees, asking what she calls a deity for forgiveness. I don't remember what her deity is called or what deity it is. Roman or Greek or maybe one of the Christian ones. I don't know, but I know better than to cross said godly being though. I also know to greet said deity when I enter and leave the room.
I've also learned a lot of things she does is for a reason, even if I don't understand the reasoning. She wears certain jewelry and colors depending on what she's trying to manifest. Whatever stones or rocks she has in her bag for the day depend on the same thing. Different things she cooks or weird jars she makes or other random things are more manifesting of my Moon.
I might not understand but I find it interesting. As long as my Moon is happy I don't have an issue with how she chooses to manifest the things she wants for herself and those she cares for.
"Want to hear your horoscope for the day?" She asks, a hand falling to cup my chin, the other one twirling the ends of my hair.
My Moon tips my head up, my sight instantly locking on her sprinkling eyes. The feeling of her rings against my jaw is a nice comfort, one I've grown used to. "Of course."
"You, my passionate Scorpio, will achieve a goal of yours today. Self-doubt will creep in. Don't let it fright you, for the stars are in your favor," she mutters, excitement to see how my day plays out lighting in her eyes.
I smile up at her, gently squeezing her wrist as my thumb rolls over the pile of veins there. I'll admit some of her weird things and manifesting do come true, but most of the time I believe it's just a coincidence. However, seeing how the loose prediction aligns with my day is always fun. "Well, a goal I have for today is to pass the math test so maybe that'll be my achieved goal."
"Maybe," my Moon hums, disapproval mixed with it. "My intuition says otherwise but it's your prediction so I guess your intuition is what matters." Her lips press against my hairline, peppering kisses across it before she lets me go.
Her hands instantly dip into her bag, scrambling around in search of something. My Moon pulls out a small velvet sack, one that I recognize as the bag she uses to store whatever rocks she wants me to carry in my pocket for the day. I can't help but enjoy her excitement as she dumps the rocks out, preparing to give me a lecture on them.
"Alright, today I focused on luck and trying to counteract self-doubt to help you get to your goal," she starts, fingertips toying with the shiny rocks. Instantly, my hand goes out, waiting for her explanation. "Jade for luck," she mutters, placing a pretty green stone in my palm. "Tiger eye for self-esteem, rose quart for self-love - "
"And tourmaline for protection," I butt in, knowing that rock for sure. It's the only one she gives me every day so I've caught on to what it is and what my Moon thinks it does.
"Yes," she giggles, peaking my forehead again, before snatching her shiny stones back. She carefully places them back in their bag before handing it to me. "I hope you achieve one of your big goals today, Tadashi."
"Me too," I murmur, my heart beating a little faster. I know my Moon would support me in anything I decide to do, but it's always nice to hear her so willing to support me. "I'll see you at break?" I ask, my eyes taking a peak at the clock.
"Of course," she chirps, another big smile on her face. "Remember, positive thoughts manifest positive things. Keep your thoughts positive," my Moon reminds me like she does every morning. "Bye, Tadashi! Bye, Tsukki!" She almost sings, another kiss to my head before she floats out the door, off to her classroom. I swear it feels like all the warmth is sucked out of the room with her.
"Your girlfriend is weird," Tsukki grumbles, rolling his eyes at himself more than me.
"Like your girlfriend of the week is any better. I swear she's trying to slide you in every time she's near you. You're just jealous I have a smoking hot witchy girlfriend."
He rolls his eyes again, a soft grin on his face. "Your girlfriend is just average if even that. What do I care if she gives you dumb rocks like a penguin? Or that she says weird spiritual things to you? It's whatever."
"Sure. It's whatever," I mock, a prideful smile on my face. Tsukki is rarely jealous of me. Most of the time I'm jealous of him, so it's a nice change of pace.
————————————
My Moon's soft humming filters through the windows, Tsukki and I both looking toward the gym entrance, waiting for her. Some of the other girls are already here; the captain's girlfriend, Kinoshita's girlfriend, and a few of the girls crushing on Tsukki and Kageyama.
When the humming gets louder, I quickly climb to my feet, making my way to the door. Tsukishima follows me, a few steps behind, and his pace is a lot slower. I recognize the tone as one of the soft lullabies she sings to her plants before bed. It's the one about lavenders and royalty.
When my Moon makes it to the door, her face lights up at the sight of me. "Hello my beautiful star," she coos, stepping forward to wrap her arms around my neck.
"Hi," I whisper, my cheeks heating up from her closeness.
"How was your last class, darling?" She asks, voice soaked in as much admiration as possible. Her arms are loose around me, fingertips barely toying with the cowlick in my hair.
"It was fine," I murmur, my fingers shaky and eyes scurrying around the gym as I rest my hands on her hips. "I'm struggling a bit with the new lesson. It's on trapezoid angles. It's difficult but I'm sure I'll be able to make my way through it."
"I know you will. You're so smart, Tadashi. A little more practice and you'll have it figured out." It feels like I'm melting into a puddle on the floor, my Moon's encouragement and pride in me making my skin sizzle.
My cheeks are stinging from how warm they are and from the grin on my face. This is why she's my Moon because she glows so bright that it makes me shine too. "I made good luck gifts for Tsukki and you," she hums, pulling away from me. "And the team of course, but Tsukki and you have special ones."
My Moon digs around her bag, pulling out a thick jar no bigger than ten milliliters. Her hands cling to it, shaking a bit as her eyes are caught on the container. "This is the one for your team. I've never done one for multiple people so I'm a bit weary but I'm sure it'll be good enough. I... I, ah... used a yellow candle to seal it for focus and logic and clarity and such. Then... then there's mint - "
"For protection," I butt in, settling my hands over hers, hoping it'll help calm her down. Mint is my Moon's favorite protection herb because 'it smells the best'.
"Exactly," she chirps, her eyes settled on me now. "There's chamomile for calm nerves, sage for strength, bay, and rosemary for success, and then stormwater for energy and such. Well, and cause I think it makes it look like a cool globe," she rambles, shaking the jar at the end of her statement.
A small smile rests on my face as I watch the different herbs float around in the vial. The white petals in the jar dance around with the yellows and greens of the herbs, making the container look like a globe made from a flower field.
"What did you use to cleanse it?" I ask my usual question. I know it's something my Moon does before every jar of things she makes and it's something she doesn't usually mention, so when I ask about it she tends to get excited. She's always so excited to explain her things to me and I'm always happy to listen to her ramble.
"Usually I use incense but there's this lullaby called 'Crow's Lullaby' so I cleansed your team's jar with a bell I rang to the rhythm of it."
That's cute. My little spiritual girlfriend is so adorable and so invested in doing what she believes she can for my team. Tsukki is even touched by the gesture, his arms crossed over his chest, cheeks a bit pink, and eyes looking anywhere except my thrilled Moon.
"Anyway," she starts, handing me the jar before digging through her bag again. "This one is yours!" She chirps, pulling out a smaller vial, about half the size of the one she made for the team.
I look over the jar she made me. It's one of about twenty or so I've been given by my Moon. I keep them all unless she takes them back to 'correctly dispose and replace' them.
There are a lot of things I have or do because of her. One of those things is a little baggy of whatever she has me keep by my bed for 'good dreams'. There's this white solid crystal slab she gave me too that she told me to put the sack on during the day to 'recharge and cleanse' the stones in the tiny satchel my sleep things stay in. Thinking of it now, I haven't had any nightmares since my Moon gave me that baggy.
"For your jar, I sealed it with an orange candle for confidence. Mint for protection, of course. Then there's flickers of gold for success, black pepper to banish negativity, carnation for strength, cinnamon for luck, and finally, lavender for focus."
"How'd you cleanse it?" I repeat, taking the small vial from her. I hold it, pressing it between my palms like my Moon has shown me how. As I listen to her answer, I try to manifest like she's been trying to teach me.
Success and luck for the game. Focus, strength, and no negativity for my mind. Success and luck for the team. Focus, strength, and no negativity for my body. I continuously repeat my wants as I roll the jar between my hands, my focus not fully on the vial like it's supposed to be.
"Apple Blossom incense, duh. I use Apple Blossom to cleanse everything for you." I know she does. Every witchy spiritual thing she's made me has always smelled like apples.
My Moon pats my head, plopping a kiss on my cheek before she floats away to give Tsukishima his gift. "Tsukki," she calls, the airiness of her voice gone like it usually is when she speaks to someone who's not me. "Don't think I forgot about you."
"What's the point of giving me a jar of herbs if you made one for the team?" He grumbles, eyes and arms falling the closer my Moon gets to him.
"I have to make sure my boyfriend's boyfriend is taken care of, don't I?" She teases, focusing on her bags again. My Moon dances in her spot, shaking around the jar before holding it out to my friend.
"I'm not Yamaguchi's boyfriend," Tsukki hisses, reluctantly taking the vial. Studying it carefully before his attention falls back down. "What is in this tiny glass?" He asks, shaking it a bit, sights back on the spiritual jar.
My Moon's hands jump up, fixing how my friend is holding his jar. "For your jar, Tsukki, mint again for protection, there's acorn chucks for good luck, borage leaves for strength, lilac for luck, oregano for health since Tadashi says you're fingers get nicked a lot when you block, and sunflower petals for energy. Unlike the others, I sealed it with yellow string to help start the manifesting of a better friendship between us. I'm not used to using string for sealing so be careful shaking it."
Tsukishima doesn't believe any of my Moon's spiritual stuff; even now I can see it in his eyes, but he appreciates the offering. That I can see in the way he obeys her, holding the jar correctly, and the way his cheeks are dusted and huffy from her support of him. His eyes skirt toward me before dropping down again, caught on the vial mixture. "Uh... how'd you clean it?" Tsukki asks, trying to follow my example of the conversation.
"I cleansed it with moon water." My friend's face drops at the answer, his huffiness from not understanding my Moon's rituals and from always wanting answers. "It just felt right using it to cleanse your jar. I'm not sure why but Artemis and Apollo both seemed to agree on it. Let me tell you, it's rare they both answer so I figured they were right."
"Artemis and Apollo... as in... Greek Gods?"
"Ya," my Moon chirps, turning away from my friend. As she walks my way, Tsukki sends me 'she's crazy' eyes, making me grin. "My star," she purrs, her arms settling around my neck again.
"My pinch server," Coach's voice booms from behind me, startling me and instantly making my cheeks heat with embarrassment.
"Of course, Ukai-San," my Moon answers, pulling away from me. "I didn't mean to make a ruckus."
"You didn't. I just don't need Yamaguchi in his head during the practice game. He has a new serve to try and I don't need you psyching him out." I want to crawl into a hole and vanish. I want to crawl into a hole with Tsukki and my Moon, then vanish. This is so embarrassing.
She giggles, fingertips dancing over mine to take her present for the team from me. "I'm not going to psych him out. I do have a gift for you. Well, you and the team."
Coach Ukai looks at the vial, confused eyes flickering toward me before he takes it. "This... this a jar of dirt... and water," he mutters, shaking the vial so it swirls like a globe again.
"Pedals and herbs, actually, but ya."
Coach looks at her again, slowly blinking as he shakes the jar some more, keeping it constantly on snow globe mode. "Is... the jar of dirt... going to help?" He slowly asks, skeptialness soaked in his words.
My Moon raises her hand, ready to take the vial from him. "If you don't want it, give it back. I'll dispose of it properly."
"No," he yelps, holding the present to his chest. "It's the team's jar of dirt now. Sorry, jar of flowers, herbs, and water."
"Then it helps," she giggles, plopping another kiss on my cheek before she walks away. My eyes trail after my Moon, watching her greet the other girlfriends before settling next to Captain's girlfriend on the floor; the two girls instantly chatting.
"Your girlfriend," Coach starts, pulling my attention back toward him. "Gave us a jar of dirt."
"It's... um... a manifestation device for her religion."
"What might that be?"
"Wicca," I murmur, eyes cast toward my Moon again. I wonder if she has ever done a love jar or candle on me. Or maybe some other manifestation thing. I should ask after the game.
"I don't know what that is."
"Like modern paganism."
"Like witches?" Coach yelps, clinging to the jar tighter. "Did she curse us? Why'd you piss off a witch?"
I shake my head at him, a grin painting on my face. "It's a blessing for the team, Coach. She's trying to manifest success and strength and luck and etcetera for us."
He stays quiet for a moment, the both of us looking at my blinged-out girlfriend. The grey - not silver, as I learned this morning - jewelry looks good on her, but I prefer my Moon decorated in gold jewelry. She insists with the nickname that silver would be better but I still like gold on her wrists more.
"What am I supposed to do with the jar of dirt or pedals or whatever?"
"Um... well... I hold my jar between my hands like this, but my Moon says touching it however feels right should work," I start, showing him how I to keep the vial pressed between my palms. "Then she says to just have good thoughts that align with the substances and just do whatever feels right with your hands. I roll the jar as I repeat my thoughts," I finish, twirling the jar between my palms to show him.
"Am I supposed to do that?"
I shrug, glancing at my Moon again. She's laughing, head tilted back as she giggles at whatever the third year said to her. "Since it's for the team I'd assume any and all members of the team can use it to manifest if they'd like."
"What the hell are we supposed to think while we're holding the jar?"
"Thoughts of calm nerves, strength, and success for ourselves and the team."
"Then what?"
"Just keep it under the bench, I guess," I answer, shrugging my shoulders for the millionth time. I'm not the one to be asked these things. "I keep the ones she gives me for about a month before she takes them to do I don't know what and she usually replaces them soon after."
"If this works you can't break up with her until after the season."
"I've been with my Moon for almost two years. The only way my terms will let her stop being my girlfriend is when I upgrade her to fiancé."
"Cute," Coach mumbles, rolling the vial between his hands as I showed him. "Disgusting, but cute. Come on. Let's go do your girlfriend's manifestation thingy before the game starts." My heart skips a beat at Coach Ukai's orders. I don't know how I expected him to respond, but it makes me giddy that he's supporting my girlfriend's rituals. I can't wait to tell my Moon she's glowing for more than just me now.
Kamaboko Squad x Popular GN!Reader Part 1
This is part 1 of a school AU where the reader (Gender Neutral) is one of the most popular teens at high school and the Kamaboko Squad are just regular teenagers.
P.S. I am still attempting to figure out how to use colors and fonts to make the post a little more fancy so I apologize for the inconvenience.
Genya
Many students had crushes on you and Genya was one of them, although he never initiated a conversation with you since he thought you couldn’t like him since you get many confessions on a daily basis. The bell had just rung so many people were rushing through the crowded hallways to go home. You were heading to the locker rooms to change for (favorite sport) practice but you weren’t paying attention because you were looking at your phone when all of a sudden someone slammed into you which caused you to fall to the ground.
Genya: Oh I’m so…
His words drifted off as soon as he realized exactly who he bumped into. You rubbed your head and let out a slight groan.
Y/n: Hey, it’s okay it was just an accident.
He didn’t know what to do at this point. I mean, the poor boy just bumped into his crush and possibly hurt them, he didn’t know if he should help them up or walk away.
Y/n: Uh are you okay? You’re just staring at me…did I do something wrong?
He snapped back to reality and realized that he indeed was staring at you, saying nothing. He frantically grabbed you by the arm and helped you up while muttering multiple apologies.
Genya: I’m so so sorry Y/n, I didn’t mean to bump into you. Are you hurt?
Y/n: Oh no I’m not hurt, thank you though.
You started brushing your uniform off before looking back up to Genya who still had his hand on your arm while his face was red all over.
Y/n: Hey I’ve seen you around before…what did you say your name was?
Genya: I- am u-uhm…i-it’s Genya Shinazugawa…
You gave him a smile which only deepened his blush. Your phone then buzzed and you looked at it and saw a text from one of your friends from practice asking where were you.
Y/n: We'll have to go, I’m late for practice and I need to fit in as much practice before the game tomorrow.
Genya: Oh right, your on the (favorite sport) team right?
You nodded.
Genya: W-well, I was actually going to that game tomorrow so I wish you luck…
Y/n: Aww thank you! I’ll see you then!
With that said, you two went your separate ways with you heading to the locker rooms and Genya rushing to his not so happy brother with blood dripping from his nose.
Tanjiro
Tanjiro just transferred to your school along with Nezuko, another student was showing them around when they bumped into you.
Random Student: O-oh my gosh! We’re so sorry Y/n! P-please forgive us, we didn’t mean to bump into you!
Y/n: Heh, it’s fine, it was just an accident. Oh, I don’t recognize you two, are you guys new here?
Nezuko: Yea! I’m Nezuko Kamado and this is my onii-chan!
You turned to Tanjiro who was blushing as his eyes met yours, you waited for him to introduce himself but no words came out of his mouth. The situation was getting awkward so Nezuko nudged him
which made Tanjiro snap back to reality.
Tanjiro: H-huh? Oh I-um am T-tanjiro and y-you are?
Before you had the chance to speak, the student that was showing the Kamado around spoke for you.
Random Student: This is Y/n L/n! The most popular, athletic, and smartest student!
Y/n: Wow, I don’t know about all that but yes I am Y/n. Anyways, I have to get to class, nice to meet y’all!
Nezuko: Bye Y/n!
Tanjiro: B-bye…
Random Student: BYE Y/N!
Nezuko could easily tell something was not right with Tanjiro.
Nezuko: Uhm, onii-chan? Is something wrong?
The student looked at Tanjiro’s abnormally red face and immediately knew what was going on.
Random Student: He fell in love with Y/n, everyone falls in love with them. Not only are they the best student, they are also the most attractive student! I can’t name a single person here who doesn’t have a crush on them.
Tanjiro: W-what? I just met them, how can I be in…love?
Nezuko smirked at Tanjiro, she’s gonna be teasing him for a while…
Zenitsu
It was the first year of high school and there were lots of new faces around. Although the year just started recently, you were gaining a lot of attention and before you knew it, most of the students had fallen for your charming personality, academic excellence, and athleticism. Many of the students tried to gain your attention and affection by initiating conversations with you. You were in history class when the teacher assigned you a partner essay.
Teacher: Alright class, I am assigning you an essay about the Abolitionist Movement and I will be choosing partners for this assignment.
Students started whispering to others about how they hope to be your partner.
Random student: Oh my gosh I hope I can be with Y/n-
Another Student: No I’m gonna be with them watch…
The teacher started listing off partners which earned some groans from some of the students since they were disappointed that they were not your partner.
Teacher: And the final pairing will be Y/n and Zenitsu, should have 26 minutes left to begin.
Zenitsu: HI Y/N! I’M ZENITSU, YOUR PARTNER! HOW ARE YOU TODAY?
Y/n: Yea, I recognize your bright hair haha, but can you lower your volume a bit?
Zenitsu: Oh I’m so sorry Y/n! But you remember me?! That’s so sweet of you!
The other students were envious of Zenitsu’s luck, a couple of them either scoffed or rolled their eyes before beginning their work.
Y/n: Mhm, but we should start working on the project but since we have limited time, do you wanna come over to my house to work on it?
Zenitsu: Really?! I’d be honored to go to your house Y/n!
The bell rang and everyone started packing their things to head home for the day. Zenitsu skipped next to you with the widest grin imprinted on his face. You led him to your house and unlocked the door and the two of you went inside.
Inosuke
Your class was in P.E and the teacher was choosing the team captains for dodgeball.
Teacher: Alright guys, the team captains are Inosuke and (random student), whoever wins rock, paper, scissors will get first pick.
Inosuke: ALRIGHT WEAKLING, LETS SEE IF YOU ARE ABLE TO BEAT THE LORD INOSUKE HASHBIRA!
Random Student: Oh my god you don’t shut up do you?
The rest of the class watched in amusement as the two bickered until the teacher had enough.
Teacher: For god’s sake, JUST PLAY THE GAME AND CHOOSE YOUR TEAM!
Inosuke: FINE! LET'S GET THIS OVER WITH SO I CAN PICK THE UNDERLINGS I WANT WORKING FOR ME!
Some of the students looked at each other with confusion written all over their faces. You understand Inosukes different ways and even though they were odd, you never treated him differently from the rest. The two started doing best out of 3 and even though Inosuke didn’t entirely understand the game, he still managed to win.
Inosuke: HAHAHAHA! I TOLD YOU CAN’T BEAT THE GREAT LORD INOSUKE! I CHOOSE YOU (Mispronounced name)!
The student that lost the game glared at Inosuke because they thought it was rude of him to mispronounce your name. You got off the bench and walked towards Inosuke, and then they continued to pick their teammates and before the dodgeball match began, Inosuke gave what he thought was an inspiring speech.
Inosuke: ALRIGHT MY UNDERLINGS, IF WE LOSE THIS MATCH, THEN YOU ARE THE ONES TO BLAME! IF YOU GET OUT THEN YOU ARE USELESS AND DON’T DESERVE TO BE MY UNDERLING, UNDERSTOOD?
Most of the kids rolled their eyes or face palmed before coming towards you.
Another random student: Yea uhm, we are going to listen to Y/n instead since they are really athletic.
The other students nodded or muttered yea’s while Inosuke looked at you and stomped right over.
Inosuke: So you’re the one that everyone bows down to huh? Well then, I am the Lord Inosuke and you are?
Y/n: Uh Y/n…why?
Inosuke: You’re not a lord or god? WHY THE HELL DOES EVERYONE RESPECT YOU SO MUCH?!
Another random student: Because everyone likes them.
Before anyone could say another word, the teacher blew the whistle and the game began.
Your cheeks were still very much flushed as you stood in front of Mihawk in just your bra, underwear and stockings. Naturally, you felt shy about your body. No one but your nannies had seen you like this, but Mihawk… Mihawk was staring at you with appreciation. He stared at you like he was pleased by what he saw. Yes, you were far too skinny for his taste and bone protruded in places, but you were still a very gorgeous woman. You shifted from one foot to the other, your black eyelashes fluttering while you rubbed your arm.
“Must you stare?” You softly questioned, averting your eyes from his hawkish and predatory ones. Mihawk raised a dark eyebrow and his lips twitched at the corner.
“Indeed I must, little bird,” He drew out, eyes raking over your body and tracing all the lines he wished to explore with his mouth. Finding all the places he planned on marking. He was a possessive lover, you’d find that out soon enough, but as his eyes lingered upon your love flushed face, they tightened at something he saw. He held out his hands to you. “Come,”
You blinked once more, eyebrows scrunching in confusion at what he wanted you to do, but stepped forwards and placed your hand in his. When your delicate fingers slipped into his, Mihawk enclosed his larger ones around yours and pulled you to him. You stumbled forwards, shins catching the chair he sat in. With a definite lack of grace you found your knees straddling Mihawk’s thighs while you practically sat on his bulging and throbbing cock. If your face wasn’t blistered, it was now! Breathing heavily from the sudden movement shocking you, you stared wide-eyed into his. He didn’t speak as he raised his other hand to brush the hair from your forehead. There at point of your hairline was an ugly scar, thick and slightly raised.
“Who hurt you?” There was a tightness in his voice that you failed to notice and you just looked at him confusion before raising your own hand to brush your fingers over his. You felt your old scar. Well to most it would probably look like you had been struck in the head by an object.
“A boat,” You answered, brows scrunching again. “At least that is what I think happened, it knocked me out and things get a little fuzzy when I try and remember exactly what happened.” Your soft voice soothed the building agitation within Mihawk, for at this point he knew that you wouldn’t even think to lie to him about such a thing. You hadn’t been struck in the forehead. No one needed to die. “I was lost in a bad storm, but a fishing vessel saved me.” You further explained before lowering your hand to his shoulder and tracing the collar of his jacket. “I would not have let someone hit me if that’s what you are concerned about.”
“Forgive me for thinking otherwise, little bird, as you are but a pretty song bird among poachers.” That made you chuckle. You were quite petite compared to most men around you, your near death at sea all those months ago was still lingering. But you weren’t defenseless. Not anymore.
“Then they should be vary of my talons,” You informed him, your finger tracing intricate stitching. “And I am learning how to bite.” An amusing thought, as you really were just a waif compared to those that wandered the Blues… He slid his fingers from your hairline into raven strands and pulled your lips to his, kissing your lips with consuming hunger. He caught you in the middle of a breath and sucked it from your lungs, breathing an aphrodisiac fire into you until you were just as hungrily kissing back. You liked the taste of wine on his tongue and reveled in the euphoria his lips burned onto yours.
He deepened the kiss, swiping his tongue along the seam of your lips to nudge them apart. You parted them and were consumed by the feeling of Mihawk kissing you so deeply that your thoughts spun. His fingers landed on your hips and skillfully traced up your sides before roaming to your back. Strong hands roamed the ridges of your spine and dips where gently padding should have rounded out your figure to gorgeousness. Mihawk’s touch upon your body seared with lightning kisses that rivaled the ones currently ravaging your own.
Without missing a beat in ravishing your delectable lips, Mihawk’s fingers skillfully unhooked your bra and proceeded to push the garment from your shoulders. When the straps tugged on your arms, your lips separated and you let him pull your bra from your body all the while staring into his intense yellow gaze. You wanted to clutch your arms to your chest in modesty, but he didn’t let you. No, Mihawk wanted to see all of your body so he grabbed one wrist and held your waist firmly, admiring you perched so prettily on his lap. Your face was painfully hot beneath his gaze and a frightful burn simmered just below your skin.
“Stunning,” Mihawk declared, running his thumb along your flesh. You were a work of art, truly! Bruises, bumps, and scars alike, you were a muse that ought to be painted and sculpted by the greatest of artisans. Or at the very least, painted by Mihawk’s mouth. You flushed beneath his gaze, barely able to stand the indentured scrutiny (appreciation) of the man. Surely you weren’t that pleasing to look at. Mihawk clearly thought so, and took his time, following all your curves and divots with reverence. Pleasure tricked from every nerve ending he touched with his bedeviled hands and you nearly gasped when Mihawk pressed his lips to the side of your neck.
Back arching, your breasts pressed against his chest while you grappled at Mihawk’s shoulder and hand. How could just a simple touch of lips against your neck feel so nice? You didn’t know, nor cared. You let out a beautiful sigh and curled your fingers into dark curls, half tempted to pull off Mihawk’s feathered hat so you could fully bury your fingers into his hair. You voiced your complaint.
“Your hat is in my way,” You softly grumbled, feeling Mihawk’s mouth travel across your flesh with soft kisses and little bites. The moment he heard your words his teeth nipped a little harder and you jerked in his arms. That was one bite that’d leave marks behind.
“And your underwear is in mine,” Mihawk spoke against your flesh, pleased that it was already showing the evidence of his adoration. “Touch my hat and your underwear goes, darling.” He warned. Mihawk was not opposed to going slow to avoid hurting you, but there were some things he wouldn’t let you get away with. Touching his hat was one of them. Your eyelashes fluttered as you thought over his words, and then your gaze flickered up to said hat. It was black, wide brimmed, and had a stark white feather billowing out from the side. You were acting before thinking, plucking the hat from Mihawk’s dark curls to place it on your own head.
It was too big for you, of course, and dwarfed your lovely face. Mihawk, fully intending in following through with his promise, couldn’t help but take a moment to appreciate how pleasing it was to see you wearing his hat. You truly looked divine. But your underwear now had to go so he made quick of that job. In an awkward lurch, you held onto the hat with one hand while shifting against the underwear being dragged down your legs. You ended up falling against Mihawk’s chest as your underwear was yanked from your ankles and tossed to the side.
“A promise is a promise, little bird,” Mihawk purred in your ear, already basking in the heat of your bare cunt. “Heed them.” What was meant to only be a simple warning that Mihawk was a man of his word, had somewhat of an opposite effect. You began giggling.
“Oh that is the first impression I had of you,” You replied, removing your face from his shoulder and settling your fingers along his jaw. You drew your pointer fingers along edge of his beard, appreciating how neat it was, before finding dark curls you could wind around your fingers. “But your hat really was in my way,”
“Your naiveté is going to put you in a situation you cannot get out of one day,” He told you, hands quickly finding your thighs. His touch roamed your soft flesh and without even so much of a warning, Mihawk slid his fingers through the folds of your cunt. You jolted in place, startled by his touch and surprised by how good it felt. Making a noise in the back of your throat, your fingers twitched within his black hair. Heat burned in your cheeks from Mihawk’s intimate touch and it only grew worse when that touch turned to stroking. One hand abandoning luscious black locks, you gripped his shoulder and sputtered on a moan. Mihawk didn’t like that you had tried to keep your moan quiet. He was quite insulted by that actually. “And neither should you smother your sounds.”
This time when his fingers found a particularly sensitive area of your flesh you stopped biting down on your lip and let out a ragged moan. A pleasure unlike anything you’d ever felt was radiating from your cunt and spreading warmth and need throughout your body. Just the sounds you made had Mihawk’s cock aching, swelling painfully and twitching at the noises you made. Smirking and truly enjoying watching and feeling your reactions from just a simple touch, Mihawk continued to stroke your body, allowing his fingers to circle your clit and coax more inflaming sensations. You were nearly clenching his wrist with your thighs, and your face. Such a pretty little thing you were, perched on his lap with your face washed with pleasure.
You breathed heavier, your hips jerking every few seconds as pleasure made shockwaves ripple down your legs. But seeing you like this wasn’t enough. Mihawk moved on from just a simple touch, sliding a finger into your hot, narrow channel and basking in your immediate reaction. You sweetly gasped, fingers digging further into his scalp. It was another odd sensation, feeling fingers within your body, but it felt absolutely divine at the same time. You wanted more. So much more. So you rocked your hips into his fingers, moaning further as they went deeper into your cunt and curled to find just the right places to spark further pleasure. When your head dropped back, exposing the expanse of your mostly unmarked neck, Mihawk’s yellow eyes flashed and he dove back down. He scraped his teeth against your flesh, biting only briefly before sucking hard. You cried out this time, tugging on his hair and squirming in place.
Oh the things your body was feeling.
Warm all over, you felt like your cheeks were sweltering as liquidfire consumed your lower extremities. Something within your body was struggling for release, clawing at a cage that held it at bay… but you weren’t sure what. Caught in between a whimper and a grunt, you bucked your hips against Mihawk’s devilish touch once more and raked your fingers across his scalp.
“Mihawk,” The calling of his name practically dripped from your lips like the finest of wines, and Mihawk’s hunger for you only grew. It wasn’t enough to kiss you, to touch you, he wanted to be inside. In what you considered a stingy move, Mihawk withdrew his touch from your hot and clenching channel. You gaped at your loss and felt like screaming. Dropping your head back down, you stared in bewilderment at the man for ceasing that pleasure when you felt on the cusp of something incredible. You nearly went off on him for doing so! But then your eyes connected with his. His yellow eyes were burning with internal flames, hungry ones has ravaged and consumed all they touched.
“Nothing good comes from rushing, little bird,” Mihawk purred, nipping at your jaw and then ear. Over all he was being quite smug from seeing the markings on your neck. It painted quite a possessive claim upon your untouched body. You made a face.
“What was I rushing!?” You huffed out, entirely innocent to the meaning of Mihawk’s words. “That was feeling so nice and you had to go and stop!?” This time Mihawk couldn’t help but laugh at you. Your innocence was truly endearing.
“And deprive myself the pleasure of being within you upon your first experience of orgasm little bird?” Your eyes went wide as you had not taken that into account. In fact, you’d entirely forgotten about orgasms. The books you’d read were all clinical and it wasn’t like the sex workers had been forthcoming with information. “I think not.”
“That’s still mean,” You bravely stated. Mihawk chuckled again and his smirk widened.
“Oh darling, you don’t want me to be intentionally mean.” He spoke, reaching up to take your chin in hand. There was something within his eyes that made a shiver run up your spine. Predator. Oh yes, something slumbered within this man, something dangerous. You weren’t blind to that… you ought to be wary of that feeling, but in this moment you truly felt that he meant you no harm. “Now,” Mihawk continued, his eyes scanning your partially covered face. “As lovely as it is to see you wearing my hat, it obscures your stunning eyes and that in itself is a tragedy.”
While you stared into Mihawk’s eyes, he moved his grasp from your chin to the hat perched atop your head. In one swift move, he plucked it and tossed it to the side, revealing your gorgeous face and sparkling amethyst eyes. His hand returned to your chin and he took a moment to brush his thumb across the crest of your cheekbone. You truly did have a natural beauty to you, in mind and appearance. The hand Mihawk had placed upon your hip, pulled your hot and soft cunt against his throbbing erection. You gasped, eyes going wide at the feeling of his cock pressed against your own throbbing flesh combined from the dampness of both your bodily fluids. It made the ache within your body worse. The muscles in your thighs clenched and you swallowed hard.
“Are you going to make me stare into your eyes the entire night?” You questioned faintly, feeling like you might just crumble beneath his gaze after all. Mihawk brushed your lip with his thumb, amusing dancing within his eyes.
“A tempting thought, little bird.” He told you, his mind contemplating all the ways he was planing on having you. “But I think I shall like to have you like this first.”
