Ma'am, I need more of Dan/Wraith in Arkham 😭 and maybe him managing to get out and meeting Dick again. Pretty please with strawberry cream on top 🥹🥹
(I’m lowkey surprised by how many people like this AU XD It got rather long lmao)
Part 1, part 2
Selina stared at the man that was sitting in her living room alongside her best friends. Harley was happily chattering his ear off, with Ivy interjecting now and then. The man, Wraith, patiently listened to Harley’s ranting, with only a little objecting whenever she went off-topic too much. He did not breathe and he rarely blinked, similar to a statue.
Or she supposed he was more like a phantom, with his abilities that he had used to help them all escape Arkham when they had attracted too many guards’ attentions.
Although he was creepy and he made the temperature of her living room drop several times, he had helped them all and he was very polite. She couldn’t find any real fault in him except the way her instincts wanted her to not look at him directly, like a haunted painting.
“So now that we’re free, what do you wanna do?” Harley asked. Selina focused back on the conversation, as Wraith hummed and Ivy and Harley turned to look at her with various levels of eagerness.
“There’s a new jewelry exhibit opening up tomorrow. Want to take some diamonds?” Selina asked, speaking up as she glanced at Wraith.
Wraith hummed. “Thank you, but I think I’ll decline. If any of you need help, I am willing to offer my services, but—”
“Is Nightwing still in Gotham?” Harley asked, interrupting Wraith, who glared at her.
Selina raised an eyebrow. “Yeah. He’s still visiting.”
“Actually, I would love to assist you three in any way. My powers are at your service. What time are we going to the exhibit tomorrow?” Wraith suddenly said, looking very eager. Selina blinked at the whiplash before looking at Harley and Ivy, who both looked amused.
It was Ivy who mouthed the words, ‘He likes Nightwing,’ to her, which made her hold back a laugh.
She could remember that little Robin that used to cheerfully break someone’s face with a flying somersault, and that same little boy had grown up into a vigilante with almost flying abilities with the way he moved and fought. Wraith was a criminal, since he was in Arkham, but he didn’t seem too bad. In a way, it reminded her of her and Bruce.
“Well. I think Ivy and Harley can take the other vigilantes, right? I can take Batman and you’ll take Nightwing?” Selina said. Wraith perked up and nodded happily.
How cute. She was so not telling Bruce about this beforehand, so she could laugh about his expression later.
A day passed, and the four of them traveled to the museum when it was night. By now, news of Harley and Ivy being broken out was already known, so security had gotten a little more strict. Still, it was nothing with all of their expertise and Wraith’s unexplained meta abilities. They snuck in easily and looted all of the gold, gems, jewelry, and antiques they saw.
“Where’s your bag?” Selina asked, as she eyed Wraith holding some pearls and gems without a bag to contain it. He was dressed in a dark leather suit that had been originally Bruce’s cat suit— it was nice to hope that he would join her one day— but was now repurposed for Wraith. Her question was answered with a small smile from Wraith as he shoved his hand into his chest, making the gems disappear. Her eyebrows rose but she just gave a nod and moved on.
After that, the bigger and heavier items were given to Wraith to keep. Selina was almost a little worried by how much they trusted him, but Harley didn’t seem to notice and only she and Ivy had some anxiety about it. However, Wraith didn’t seem to care either, and listened to their expertise without any hesitation. It was probably because he was younger than them by at least a decade, she realized.
He was extremely fascinating, and Selina suddenly understood why Harley was so interested in him like a scientist towards a petri dish.
The Gotham heroes finally arrived, just as they loaded up everything in the car. Wraith perked up when he saw Nightwing amongst the vigilantes coming towards them.
Selina couldn’t help but laugh at the sudden cheer on his usually bored or blank expression.
“Okay, Harley, Ivy, you two go back to the hideout. Wraith, you can take me away if we need to, right?” Selina asked, smiling as she recalled Wraith’s intangibility and invisibility abilities yesterday.
Wraith nodded and the other two drove off without hesitation, leaving Selina and Wraith facing the Gotham vigilantes. Wraith wagged his clawed fingers in a greeting at Nightwing, smirking broadly.
“Hello, Nightwing. It’s good to see you again,” he purred. Selina was watching the spectacle gleefully, occasionally glancing at Batman’s covered expression, wondering if she was going to see a good show today.
Nightwing faltered in his steps before he shook his head as if to clear his thoughts. However, he answered pleasantly, “Hello, Wraith. I see you’ve befriended the Sirens.”
“Mhm. They helped me a lot so I could see you again.”
Nightwing’s cheeks darkened but through the shadows, Selina felt like she could see a bit of red on his face. “I see. Well, I’ll have to ask you guys to give up the jewelry you stole. We can do this the hard way or the easy way.”
“Please do the hard way,” Wraith purred again, even throatier than before. Selina had to choke on her giggles as Batman stiffened in horror, staring between his oldest son and the criminal.
Nightwing coughed and took out his escrima sticks. “Well, you’re under arrest, Wraith. Surrender and we won’t have to—”
“Oh my god, just fight him! Stop flirting!” Spoiler screamed and then they all flew into action. Selina took out her whip, but before she could make a move, Wraith darted at her, wrapped his arms around her, and then turned invisible before they flew off through the walls.
Selina blinked rapidly as she watched the museum grow smaller and smaller into the distance. “… you could fly the entire time?”
“Hmm? Oh yes, I’m very strong.” There was a touch of deep arrogance in Wraith’s voice. Then he sighed, “But I was told not to make too much trouble. So it’s better to make an early escape than stick around.”
“I would’ve thought that you would’ve stayed to flirt with Nightwing some more,” Selina teased.
“It’s weird to flirt in front of his siblings,” Wraith said in distaste as they flew over the building roofs and past the clouds to Selina’s hideout. “I’ll find another day to fight him without voyeurs around.”
Selina burst into laughter. Yeah, she could completely understand why Ivy and Harley wanted to take him in now. He really was quite interesting.

Best excuses?
My (18M) high-school sports coach is starting to get suspicious. I’ve been squatting in abandoned houses for a while but he’s starting to ask questions about where my parents are. Sometimes I sleep in the locker rooms at the school but I thought he didn’t take too much notice. I’ve been telling him my parents are too ‘busy with work’ to meet him for a while now and it’s getting way too repetitive.
Last night at training he told me that it was really important that my parents showed up for our next game. I’m old enough that he shouldn’t be able to call Child Services but I’m worried he might try to get authorities involved. What are your guys’ best excuses to explain why your parents aren’t around?

Foxes in for ANOTHER bad year
Look, I love this school as much as the next person but someone has got to say it. They seriously need to do something about the exy team. They’ve always been an embarrassment but since that famous guy came here last year it’s just been hell. The vandalism was one thing, but it just went WAY too far - I even got egged walking through campus on game nights last year.
I thought maybe they’d use some common sense and try to sort out their line up (maybe find some players that are actually good?) but I’ve just heard that the new striker recruit is already in hospital - the school year hasn’t even started yet! They don’t have enough players as it is and the ones they do have are freaks that get more red cards fighting eachother than they do fighting for possession of the ball.
Can they just cut the team’s funding? It probably just gets spent on bailing players out of jail anyway. Isn’t anyone else embarrassed to tell people that the Foxes are their school’s team?
-Yours sincerely, a fed UP sophomore.

AITA for knowing what’s best for my team?
I (20M) have transferred schools (due to personal reasons) recently and joined one of the sports teams. My previous school’s team, which I was a major player in, is the best performing school in the country, if not the world. I’ve been training and studying this sport for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been told my whole life that I am destined to go pro.
My new school’s team is arguably the worst team I have ever seen. A team of blind elementary school students would probably perform better. The players are antagonistic and don’t listen to authority or guidance, the coach recruits based on pity over talent, and the uniforms are horrendous.
I was brought in to the team to offer expertise and help them improve, but none of them can be bothered to put in the work to get any better. It’s like they don’t care, although most of them are relying on the athletic scholarship to keep them at university.
Recently, our new recruit for the upcoming year pulled out of their offer. I’ve been scouring recruitment footage and studying players from high school teams to try and find the best fit, someone who I can use to improve the team’s overall performance. After all my hard work, I finally found the perfect fit. He’s definitely an amateur, but from seeing how he plays I know I can make him one of the best in our district, if not more. The problem is, no one else is that convinced. I’ve put my foot down and demanded we recruit him, and everyone is making a fuss about how much of a “prima-donna” i am.
I know exactly what this team needs and how it can improve, and no one is taking me seriously. Everyone is annoyed with me but it’s too late, we’re flying out to recruit him next week.
None of these guys know anything about winning, and I’m the only one with the knowledge under my belt to actually get us a shot at making it this year.
Am I the asshole for wanting my team to be winners?
EDIT: It’s not narcissism, this team is a MESS. All I want to do is get some sense of teamwork, for them to actually CARE about winning. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to perform well?

Hey Dani,
Can I ask for some advice or maybe explanation. You had mentioned you got into consulting later on in your career.
Um at the risk of sounding stupid,
How?
How does one get into consulting?
Also what's freelancing and how is that different?
Also how does one start these things. Like are there forums that u just join? Is this like a job application? Do u need marketing for this? Like know how to market yourself?
Yours truly
A very confused early professional 🥺
No such thing as stupid questions in this household 😌
Let me take this one by one.
Firstly, freelancing and consulting are not the same, but they are kind of used simultaneously sometimes. They are both self-employed roles (where you can work with multiple people at the same time on a contractual basis). However, freelancing involves providing specific skills or services on a project basis, while consulting focuses on offering expert advice and strategic guidance.
For example, I am a freelance trainer. So people hire me when they need to do a training and I do that training and get paid for it. I get paid by the hour (or per workshop/assignment) for that. I don't have any other business than that. In the same way, you see freelance voice artists or translators or graphic designers, where you just go in and do one thing and get paid for it. You're not involved in the whole project or company or anything. This kind of work is idea if you're trying to make money and not get attached to the company/teams you work with.
Consulting is a more involved role. You're usually an advisor for a whole project so you're overseeing everything (but you're still not part of the organization or team). You're like an external person overseeing something in a specific capacity (gender in my case) and give advice on everything related to that. So for eg, I am a gender consultant for one organization and I basically not only do their gender training, but I also do their social media content, provide input on their strategies, etc.
I think what you are referring to and looking for is more of a freelance role than a consulting one because the latter can sometimes feel like a full-time job depending on how much work is there. The consulting jobs I do don't need me 24/7 and I work like twice a week so it's great for me. So whatever they need my advice on they have to ask me on those two days.
An important thing about doing freelance/consulting work is to set boundaries. I can do a separate post on that if necessary.
In terms of how do you become a consultant, a few things:
You need a brand. Like a niche thing. I can't tell you how to market yourself, but you need something to market yourself about. Like what are you offering? What is your area of expertise? Try to specialize on a particular area (but not too specific because then it's becomes difficult to find opportunities) so you can promote yourself based on that.
LinkedIn is a great place to boost yourself. Look at what other consultants in your area of work are doing. Follow organizations (depending on your sector of interest) that hire consultants. They ALL do. It's easier to pay someone to do a specific job than to train your employees to do it (which is sad tbh).
When you look for jobs set the type to 'consultancy' so you only find jobs that are consultancies (short-term/project-based opportunities).
Most important for consultancies and freelance work is word of mouth and a good reputation. I hardly apply for jobs anymore because once you become a consultant and create a reputation for yourself in a sector (it takes a few years trust me, I've been doing this since 2021 and I'm just now getting there), they will refer you to each other.
BUT - this depends on the sector you work in. If it's corporate, it's a bit difficult. Because they don't like hiring the same consultants as others because of competition. In this case, something that would REALLY help is a portfolio - it could be a website or a pdf document that people can look at - to see your approach, past work, credentials etc).
Overall, if you're an early career professional, I'd recommend that you find a good job where you can learn and build a reputation for yourself (like an org that allows you to thrive without being sucked into their overall company identity) so people know you and your work - not just as your company's work. In other words, work in a place that allows you to take credit for it. Then, once you become a mid-career professional, you can start doing consultancies. But again, this depends on your field. A lot of people, like designers, start off as freelance because it works better for their job. So, it's completely up to you.
Happy to answer more questions if you have them 💙

Actual Hot Take: Ramble Incoming
I'm in a mood, less than a week out from my hysterectomy, and I have some thoughts. Rough thoughts. Medium spicy.
They're about world-building and critiques and readers and writers. It turned into a big ramble as I processed some feelings - you'll note the subject change partway through - so I'm throwing a read more.
I would say here that this is my own personal opinion but essentially I realized that my real issue here was how sick I am of cynicism in lit spaces and like...yeah I don't think that's a crazy hot take. I feel at this point that I am incapable of hot takes.
I am deeply intimidated by the kinds of writers and readers who eviscerate logistical world-building choices in genre fiction. I usually only see it in sci-fi and fantasy communities but I have to imagine it happens in every genre.
Maybe an unrealistic fabric is used in a historical fiction novel. Or a poor choice of saddle in a western. Or a medical inaccuracy in a horror scene. It has to happen all the time because certain people have expertise that research might miss, or a writer's research could be wrong, or they could've just not researched at all. But for some reason specifically the Speculative Fiction crowd are the most likely, in my experience, to lose their goddamned minds.
Has anyone read Greg Egan's Schild's Ladder? It's about the hardest sci-fi out there. So esoteric and thorough in its scientific accuracy that when I tried to read it it circled back around and sounded like fantasy. Listen to this excerpt from the plot summary:
Huh? Huh???
I don't know about you, but this is virtually indistinguishable to me from the schizophrenic rambling of Philip K Dick. I did not hate the book. I couldn't finish it because I had no fucking clue what anyone was talking about, but I enjoy it's existence. The prose was pretty retro. It's like a pulp novel from an alternate universe where everyone has a PhD in Quantum Physics.
It's just a weird spectrum, the questions you're supposed to answer and the ones you're allowed to leave a mystery. What mysteries will the reader use against you as proof that you didn't think it through? People say write for yourself, and you should, but some of those same people are quick to produce massive think pieces on why your choices make you a bad writer. That's just a thing some writers choose to do. And there's really no way to predict what someone might get unreasonably rant-y about. As I put my writing more out there I have no idea what people will use to claim I put no thought into the most emotionally vulnerable writing I've ever created.
And they say that's not supposed to bother you. But like. Of course it does? There's a level of thick skin you're supposed to develop about writing, but I don't think that applies to all aspects of writing or all the time. If someone disregards my entire novel that I gave myself tendonitis over because my depiction of back of house food service wasn't realistic or my magic system didn't go in a direction they thought it should, I'm going to be upset. It won't ruin my life or get me to give up writing - I don't see anything doing that at that point. But I'll get sad. I'll probably get pretty sad and it's weird that I feel like it's bad for writers to admit that.
My hot take, nestled within this hot take, is that I think this applies to every writer. Even the ones that react with ego and anger to massive critiques on their books - right before we cringe and scoff and laugh online - are probably also just sad that we didn't like their writing. Unless they specifically didn't try, or posed a scam in the form of a book, they're likely sad they offered something born out of creative effort and got rejected. Nobody likes that.
It's one thing if the writer themselves has some trash beliefs. I am fine with people eviscerating JK Rowling or any of the writers who feel like the best way to get a book deal is to bring down other writers or pretend to be a different race online. But it's just crazy to be a writer in an age where you might publish a book someone hates so much that they release a three hour-long video essay roasting entire segments for a potentially incalculable audience.
I used to be into that kind of stuff, but after being here for so long relishing in that rage-bait feels weird. Because a lot of the people here, even if they write themes I'm not interested in, seem like nice enough people actually trying to do something. I had strangers on here send me their writing and someone sent me what was clearly a fetish thing and even though I wasn't into the kink I talked to the person about it and they were perfectly civil and courteous. I'm almost 30 and I'm learning that while some artists are using their medium to push unhealthy beliefs or hateful ideologies, a lot more people just want to tell a story that feels important to them. Even if other people don't like it.
I don't know. I was angry at first when I started this but by now I'm just sentimental and I think people should stop treating complaining as their primary hobby. I think critiques are important, but there comes a line in which I'm forced to think you'd just like hearing yourself talk. And if you like to talk why not talk about something you enjoy?
If you've read this far (you're very odd), I'm going to go ahead and list a few books that inspired my writing and say why I like them a lot.
Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut: Love my man Vonnegut. His prose is so warm and easy to read and his stories are so wild and interesting to think about. Everyone should read Vonnegut he's great and he seemed like a pretty nice guy.
Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison: This book wrecked me hard. Some of the descriptions were so beautiful I put the book down and let out a sigh. When I finished I walked out of whatever classroom I was in without asking for permission from the teacher and spent the rest of class wandering campus in the rain and weeping openly.
Griffin and Sabine by Nick Bantock: it's a trilogy told through postcards and letters you can physically open and remove the pages. Has some of the most beautiful romantic intimacy between two people who never meet. There's one particular letter I read and reread a lot when I was younger because it was exactly what I wanted in life.

Do you have any advice or resources on pricing commissions/commissions in general? I've been thinking of starting comms
I hope this is an okay thing to ask lol
PS: luv ur art!
for resources, there's this video (subtitled but not transcribed sorry) which lays it out really well! there used to be a really good twitter thread by yoshi yoshitani, but it seems to be deleted.
here's some general experience/advice:
- IN A PERFECT WORLD we would all price our commissions well and fairly and comparable to industry standard, buuuuuut i get why most of us don't. compared to industry standard my $130 character portraits are also underpriced, and while i AM steadily upping my prices (my first comms were $40 for a fully colored and shaded fullbody. oof) 1) i need to consider what audience i have and who will be able to commission me, and 2) i mostly do commissions for some extra pocket money, not to make a living. i think my prices are comparable to many fellow internet artists in the same sphere.
- the way i price my commissions are that the MINIMUM amount needs to be the amount i have to be paid to feel like a commission is worth doing (taking into account my limited amount of time and energy to work on art, if i take paid $50 but then spend several days to complete it i will grow resentful and stretch myself too thin for too little), and the MAXIMUM is "at what point will the price paralyze me because i feel like I don't feel like i can make something worth that amount."
- working on a commission WILL take longer than just working on a Fun Piece For Yourself, both because you're putting in extra effort trying to make it worth the money you're given, and because you will spend time communicating with your client. you will get a better grip on your timeframe after you have more experience doing commissions.
- you're not just taking paid for the art itself, but client communications, your experience and expertise which has taken years to build, revisions, tools, etc.
- something they JUST told us in clock school: sometimes you get clock repairs that cost less than your quote and you might feel bad about this, but you will definitely do clock repairs that cost a lot more than your quote. THIS IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE, THIS IS HOW YOU BREAK EVEN. when you give a quote at the beginning you don't know how much the work is going to take and estimates are always rough, but you're using your time and expertise to offer a service and you need money to live.
- your prices/quote can have wriggle room like "will cost X amount but Y for Extra Detailed Stuff Like Wings/Fancy Outfit/Background Detail"
- don't offer commissions you don't wanna do! i used to offer a wide range of styles and price categories, including some really cheap sketch options, and i don't Regret doing those per se but nowadays i only offer a narrowed down selection. I don't have time to do fullbodies with full backgrounds, so even if it's something i CAN do and people WOULD pay me for, I don't HAVE to do that.
- its okay, encouraged even, to adjust your prices as you go along and get more experienced at doing commissions. it's pretty normal to start out with low prices to get the hang of it (tattoo apprentices do tattoos for lower prices unil they're done with their training, and doing commissions is its own skill)
- if someone thinks your prices are too high, you don't want them as your clients to begin with. dealing with shitty commissioners is rarely worth the pay, and higher prices tend to result in better and more respectful clients.
i hope im not forgetting something hope this helps

Digital Retailing: Branding on the Web
Branding is a super important tool and concept, not just for businesses but also for one's personal use. A few months back my school's American Marketing Association (AMA), hosted an event for “personal branding”, and expert individuals came in to discuss what branding was and how we could develop our own “brand”. Although this event pertained to personal branding, it still helped me grasp a better understanding of what branding actually is. And what I learned was branding is made up of a lot of different things, not just the company's name or logo.
By definition, branding is “is the process of giving meaning to a specific organization, company, products or services by creating and shaping a brand in consumers’ minds. It is a strategy designed by organizations to help people to quickly identify and experience their brand, and give them a reason to choose their products over the competition’s, by clarifying what this particular brand is and is not” (Marion, 2022).
As more people shift towards the e-retail shopping experience, companies are having to adjust their branding to accurately reflect their company on a digital platform. I also think it should be noted that customers' expectations play a huge role in the differences between online and offline branding. Meeting these expectations is crucial for a company to succeed in branding and overall. Although I do think branding can be very similar between the web and the traditional retail environment, there are also some differences that should be considered to fully optimize the customer experience.
The first difference is in customer service. Customer service is a part of a company's brand and implementing good customer service will give consumers a better idea of what the company represents. Customer service can be much easier to obtain in the traditional retail environment. Consumers can speak directly to an associate or manager if any issues arise.
A personal experience of exceptional customer service in a traditional retail environment is when I shop at Altar’d State. They are a women’s boutique with the mission “Our mission is to serve as an inspiration, empower others and give more than we receive. We do this by lifting those who need a helping hand, volunteering our time to enrich lives, and extending the power of prayer.” (Altar’d State, n.d). Whenever I shop with them I am always given the best customer service, from the moment I walk in I am greeted by an associate and they offer to help me find exactly what I am looking for. They will offer a dressing room if I am a pile of clothes and will also offer advice and compliments while in the dressing room. Altar’d State goes above and beyond in its customer service aspects to build its brand and show its consumers what they strive for in a company. But with e-retailing, this interaction and customer service cannot be performed, companies have to use other resources to create these experiences with customer service and stay consistent with their branding.
An online retailer that I think has achieved high levels of branding through its customer service is Amazon. Amazon has been successful in filling the void of social interaction that is found online. They offer quick shipping with Amazon Prime, even offering one-day/overnight delivery in some areas. They promote “frequently bought together” or “similar products” on all their product listings to offer their consumers more advice and expertise. And Amazon has extensive reviews from customers who have purchased the product previously. Other customers can view these reviews with different filters (such as most recent or best to worst) to find all the readily available information before purchasing. Amazon also has a traditional customer service phone line and email for their customers if any larger issues arise. But the majority of the time customers can navigate through Amazon’s website to make returns or contact supplies.
Another difference in branding is through packaging design. We all know how a brand's product packaging can help with its branding. Brands can use their logos, slogans, and colors on their packaging to keep consistent branding and help spread awareness of the brand. Some examples are Tiffany’s iconic blue box with the white ribbon or Campbell's classic red and white soup cans. But I also view packaging design as how the product is presented to the customer upon purchase. This can also help a company’s brand differentiate between traditional retail environments and online retailers. If a company has poor packaging (such as unidentifiable or not securing the product properly) customers are going to associate the company with low quality.
In a traditional retail environment, the packaging design falls down to how the products are placed in the bag and the branding on the bag. One example from personal experience that comes to mind is Victoria’s Secret. Once I check out my item are wrapped in their color-themed tissue paper (typically white or pink), placed in their classic pink striped bag, and more tissue paper is added to the top. Each of these elements helps their branding. Not only do I feel I have purchased a more high-quality product due to the packaging, but the branding of the bag helps me and other consumers clearly identify the brand.
In the e-retail environment, packaging design falls into how the packaging is shipped to the consumer. Patagonia is a clothing brand (online and traditional retail) but a huge focus on sustainability and being environmentally friendly. To ensure this message is conveyed through all their channels, they have made a strong effort to make their packaging design more sustainable. Their shipping boxes are cardboard but the inside of their boxes have some of their classic designs to keep branding consistent. They also have made efforts to minimize the amount of packaging required and made plans for their consumers to easily recycle these packaging components. Patagonia is using its packaging design to convey its message of being sustainable while still ensuring the packaging is identifiable to its brand.
One way online retailers can build their branding and ensure it is consistent with their message is through social media. Over the past three years or so we have seen social media turn into e-retailers themselves. Instagram and Pinterest have even been able to create “shopping centers” on their networks where consumers can easily shop for products and purchase them through the app. Customers can follow companies on social media to keep up on new releases, and upcoming sales, and even enter potential giveaways. Companies can use their social media to connect with their customers on a more personal level while still being in the digital environment. Companies can also use social media to help with their digital branding by posting pictures and videos that accurately reflect the brand and what they are all about, especially since “a picture is worth a thousand words”.
Two examples came to my mind when thinking of companies that use social media to help build their brand. The first is Patagonia. As I stated before they are huge on sustainability and environmentalism, one of their marketing campaigns was even about “Don’t Buy This Jacket”, which brought awareness to the overconsumption of clothes. On Patagonia's social media accounts, they strive to maintain this message, instead of consistently posting about their products, they actually feature environmental activists as well as consumers wearing Patagonia while performing outdoor activities. This is a great example of using social media to accurately reflect their brand.
The other example that came to mind was Aerie, a smaller section of American Eagle featuring women's intimates and loungewear. Their purpose is to “love everybody”, and through their social media accounts, they post so many diverse women wearing Aerie clothing, whether that is different bodies or ethnicities, and featuring women with disabilities too. This is to bring love to one another and show that every body is beautiful, not just the “standard” we see all too often in magazines.
Traditional and online retailers can both use the same branding strategies but they use them in different ways, such as how they create customer service experiences or how they package their products. But I also think social media play’s a huge role in a company's branding. This is where companies can really connect with their consumers and show off their products as well as their purpose and what they stand for.

Ikigai Book Summmary
Ikigai by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles is a profound yet accessible exploration of the Japanese concept of ikigai, which roughly translates to "a reason for being." At its core, the book delves into how finding your ikigai can lead to a more fulfilled, balanced, and meaningful life.
The authors draw inspiration from Okinawa, Japan, where the inhabitants are known for their longevity, often living well into their 100s. The book isn’t just a theoretical discussion of the concept, but rather a practical guide, using real-life examples to demonstrate how ikigai can be incorporated into our daily lives.
The authors break down ikigai into four key components, which form the foundation of discovering your purpose:
What you love – This refers to your passions, the things that make you feel alive and energized. It’s those activities or interests that fill you with joy and excitement.
What you’re good at – These are the skills, talents, and abilities that you have developed over time, whether through natural ability or hard work. It’s about identifying what you can contribute to the world.
What the world needs – This is where purpose comes in. It’s the intersection of your personal passions and the greater good. What does the world need that you can provide, whether it’s a service, a product, or even a way of thinking?
What you can be paid for – The final piece of the puzzle is finding ways to combine your passions and skills in a way that can be sustainable. This is about monetizing your expertise or talents while maintaining alignment with your values. When these four elements align, you’ve found your ikigai—your true purpose in life.
One of the most impactful parts of the book is how it presents the Okinawan people and their approach to living with purpose. Okinawa is home to some of the world’s longest-lived individuals, and their secret to longevity isn’t just diet or exercise, but their deep sense of purpose. Many Okinawans continue to stay active and engaged in their communities well into their 90s and even 100s. The idea is that having a clear sense of ikigai provides a reason to keep going, even in later stages of life.
The book encourages readers to reflect on their own lives and ask: What do I love to do? What am I good at? How can I use my talents to help others? What do I need to feel fulfilled? These are the kinds of questions that push us beyond the daily grind and inspire us to think more deeply about what truly matters.
Another key takeaway from the book is the importance of community, simplicity, and mindfulness. The authors suggest that people who have a strong ikigai tend to live in the moment, value relationships, and aren’t focused on chasing after material success or fame. They embrace a more balanced and minimalist approach to life, which contrasts with the fast-paced, achievement-oriented culture that many of us are often caught up in.
In essence, Ikigai is a book that offers both a philosophy and a practical roadmap for living a more intentional life. It isn’t a quick-fix guide or a magic formula; rather, it’s a reminder to slow down, reflect, and live with purpose. Whether you’re looking to find more meaning in your work, relationships, or personal growth, the lessons from Ikigai are powerful tools to help you make more conscious choices. By applying its principles, you just might find the sense of fulfillment and peace that you’ve been searching for.
Overall, Ikigai is an inspiring read for anyone who feels stuck in the routine of daily life or is searching for something more meaningful. It’s not a self-help book filled with promises of overnight success, but rather a gentle invitation to live more mindfully, with purpose, and with a deeper understanding of your true calling.

Innovating the Meat Industry: The Necessity of Customized Meat Delivery App Development
People have different standards when it comes to food delivery because the digital world is changing so quickly. Online transactions are replacing in-person meat market transactions. In the name of quality, safety, and ease, this change is not just a passing fad. It's a major shift. Businesses must adapt to the changing times by investing in customized meat delivery app development, as customers are demanding more from their meat sellers. Businesses can change how they work, interact with customers, and grow in this competitive market by working with an experienced meat delivery app development company.
There are now online services that provide meat delivery.
More people are choosing to do their food shopping online because of the rise of e-commerce. Such is the case with the meat delivery market. The demand for meat delivery services has significantly increased recently due to factors such as increased health awareness, increased busyness, and increased attention to cleanliness. Consumers now put ease and safety first when they shop for food, thanks in part to the global pandemic.
Companies must understand how important it is to meet new customer wants as the market changes. If a business wants to improve the customer experience and make things run more smoothly, they can use a personalized meat delivery app.
Customized meat delivery apps have a lot of benefits.
Customized experience for each user
Companies can make shopping more fun for their ideal customers by using a personalized meat delivery app. Standard apps lack the features that a custom app can offer.
An interface that fits your business and is simple and enjoyable to use is known as UX-centered design. The personalized offers feature uses data analytics to show buyers suggested products based on what they have bought before and what they like.
Stable performance
If you purchase a custom app, you can access advanced features that can maintain user interest and streamline operations.
Full Product Information: Customers can make better decisions when they see high-resolution pictures, read full descriptions, and see nutritional information. Order Tracking: Customers can see where their order is at all times with real-time tracking, which gives them trust and makes them happy. Numerous Payment Methods: Customers can choose from a variety of methods, such as credit cards, digital wallets, and cash on delivery, to meet their payment needs.
Improved customer involvement
Customized tools can help businesses better understand their customers.
Include chatbots for customer service choices that let people talk to and get help right away as interactive features. • Loyalty programs: Using prize systems to encourage customers to buy from you again can build brand loyalty and lead to long-term relationships with customers.
Improved the efficiency of operations
While meat delivery is all about efficiency, a custom app can make a number of tasks easier:
Tracking your inventory in real time can help you keep the right amount of stock on hand and make sure that popular items are always in stock. Implementing an automated order fulfillment system can help a business cut down on mistakes made by hand and speed up delivery, which in turn makes customers happier.
I am capable of expanding my growth in the future.
Scalability is one of the best things about personalized apps. Customized apps can grow your business as it grows.
Adding new products or services is easy, and you can do it whenever needs arise in the market. If you want to target a different group of customers or an area, you can change the app without affecting its usefulness.
Choose the right partner for development.
To make your idea come true, you need to hire the right meat delivery app development company. You should consider the following essential factors:
Expertise in the field
It is best to choose a development company that has worked with food delivery companies before, preferably ones that help send meat. Their experience will shed light on the unique challenges this business encounters.
An impressive picture book
Examine the company's previous projects to gauge their design and functionality. You should look for apps that show they are creative and know what users want, as well as being technically sound.
Third, favorable feedback from clients
To learn about the company's dependability, communication, and general performance, look for testimonials and reviews from past clients. Client satisfaction often demonstrates the company's ability to deliver exceptional projects.
Help all the time.
To keep the app working and fix any problems that come up, post-launch help is a must. The best way to keep your app going smoothly is to make sure the partner you choose offers full support services.
How to Make Your Own Customized App for Delivering
Well-thought-out planning and performance are needed to make a meat delivery app work:
Set clear goals for yourself.
Make clear goals for your app as a first step. How do you solve problems? What things must have? This will help you stay on track with your overall plan and guide the development process.
Do a lot of research on the market.
Researchers should look into rivals and learn about what customers want. By understanding the landscape, you can identify opportunities and gaps that your app can fill.
Get your development team to work together.
Ask your development team questions and keep the lines of communication open throughout the job. This will make sure that the final product matches your idea by talking about features, design, and user experience.
Testing and improvement
Once the development team decides on the style, they will begin writing the code for your app. To find and fix any bugs and make sure the launch goes smoothly for users, it's important to test rigorously.
Make your app public and launch it.
Launch your app on the right platforms after trying it well. By using online ads, social media, and relationships with influential people in your marketing plan, you can get people to join and interact with your business.
Get input and make changes.
Ask users for feedback once your app is live to find ways to make it better. Make changes to your app based on what users say on a regular basis to keep it useful and simple to use.
Conclusion
For businesses that want to do well in today's digital market, investing in a custom meat delivery app development is more than just a trend. You can make a new app that meets customer needs, improves business efficiency, and sets your brand up for future growth by working with a company that specializes in making apps for meat delivery. As the meat delivery industry changes, seize the chance to be the market leader with an app that makes your business stand out, wins over customers, and ensures your long-term success. It's time to make your mark with a custom meat delivery service that fits your needs. The future is digital.

Why Personal Branding is important?
Today, more than ever personal branding is crucial in the digital world. It doesn’t matter if you’re a freelancer, an entrepreneur, or a professional; how you present yourself online and offline can have a major impact on your career or business.
As a Digital Marketing Strategist in Kottayam, having personally experienced how personal brand can drive opportunities, build trust, and lead to success!
What is Personal Branding?
Personal branding is the process of selling yourself and your profession as if you were a brand. Basically, it is to find out what you are good at, what you value and what your personality in general is, and to present it to your targeted audience in a way that they can connect to you.
Unlike the traditional branding, which has always worked to sell businesses or products, personal branding revolves around the individual.
For those of us involved in digital marketing as digital marketers, the average client wants him (or her) to be real, and you are your reputation, so you have to promote yourself through personal branding.
Why Personal Branding Matters?
1. Competitive Market and Differentiation
Personal branding allows you to stand out in the highly competitive field of digital marketing.
There are numerous professionals selling similar services, but defining your personal brand is going to identify your unique selling points.
With a personal brand, you separate your self from other people and leave an imprint on the thoughts of potential clients or employers.
2. Builds Trust and Credibility
This is why people trust other people before businesses, at least more in service based industries (like digital marketing). But building trust is about showcasing your expertise regularly, sharing some really valuable insights and engaging authentically with your audience consistently.
Personal branding is extremely important as it not only helps you promote your skills but also give your personality your values a boost. It creates a deeper link to your audience.
3. It increases Visibility and Opportunities.
Attention to your personal brand works which leads to a naturally strong one. The more visible you are, the more people you reach, the more opportunities you create whether it be through social media, networking, or public speaking. It’s when people think of you as an expert in the field they are more likely to reach out to you with job offers, speaking engagement offers, partnerships, and client project offers.
For example, I have had the good fortune to work with businesses in Kottayam and beyond because my presence as a Digital Marketing Strategist is visible and I am trusted within the industry.
4. Enhances Professional Growth
Personal branding goes beyond getting jobs or clients; it’s also about personal and professional development. If you build a personal brand, it means you are not just learning new things, not just refreshing knowledge, but also staying relevant in your field. Having this continuous improvement puts your thought leadership and puts you ahead in your career.
Having a well established personal brand can also open up doors to mentorship, collaborations and learning opportunities that is unavailable otherwise.
You might ask: How to Build a Strong Personal Brand?
1. Define Your Niche
To have a solid personal brand, you should find your niche. What do you excel at? What are your core strengths? Take as an example, I am a Digital Marketing Strategist in Kottayam who focuses on how to grow a business through SEO, content marketing and social media strategies. So, by focusing on a specific area of knowledge, you may establish yourself as the go-to expert in that field.
2. Create Consistent Content
Personal branding is all about being consistent. Whatever you post, whether it’s on social media, a blog or a video, make sure your content is based on your brand and has value to your audience. By sharing insights, tips, and industry news in regular intervals, you will position yourself as an expert and your audience will stay engaged.
3. Engage with Your Audience
Creating a personal brand isn’t about blasting your message, it’s about achieving meaningful connections. To engage with your audience, respond to comments, participate in discussions already happening around your post and help when needed. Trusting your company is more likely to occur when your brand is accessible and relatable to your users.
4. Leverage Social Media
One of the most powerful tools you have to build up a personal brand is social media. You have the opportunity to reach a wider audience via LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter. If you've got something to share with success stories, case studies and client testimonials, highlight the impact of your work.
5. Be Authentic
Your brand shouldn’t represent who people think you should be, but who you are. That’s what draws people to you, and keeps them coming back. If you are building your brand, try to remain authentic and clear about what you represent with your values, beliefs and experiences.
The Importance of Personal Branding (Long Term Impact)
