Elrond and Elros are the products of their parent's love and despair and sacrifice and absence, the Fëanorian's terror and mercy and despair and influence, war's instability and loss and grief and yet.

Look how they turned out.

Leader of a mighty Kingdom, leader of a mighty Realm, King and High King's herald, beloved King and kind-as-summer Lord.

this post is not going anywhere, it just gets to me that they are a product of a whole slew of negative situations and absences that could have messed them up so badly but they turned out so. Beloved by everyone and wise

#idk if its a rant or not #i am a firm believer that Elwing did love her boys so much. they were her world. she was a good mother. she was driven to 'abandon' them by #the despair & trauma the feanorians inflicted upon her and therefore also onto eärendil. imo she might even have believed her boys dead and #that may have been the only reason she jumped in the first place. why live when those she loved most are dead?#in the same breath tho i do think the feanorians tried their best after it had gotten clear nobody would bargain for the twins #i mean we have two mass murderers who could have easily pushed their own agenda onto these impressionable boys but in the silm neither #elrond nor elros is a valar-defying silmarils-hunting sindar-hating elf who is bitter at the world #stockholm syndrom defo played into it imo but i truly think maglor and mae tried their best to not lead e&e down the same path as they're o #just. they are the products of so much sadness and love alike and my heart goes brrr for them #thats the gist of this post. my heart goes brrr for Elros and Elrond
