Just a little something to doodle, but it certainly got me thinking a lot about the past few years

Old art and a huge ramble under the cut:

This is the first digital drawing I ever made of them, allllll the way back in ~Feb of 2021 (iirc).

It's fun and strange going back and looking at this after all these years, due to many, many factors. Obvious one is that my artsyle has evolved so much in these past 4ish years, it's almost insane to think about! The way the original hair sits, the head that was made via circle tool, the blank eyes, the nonexistent noses, the fact that the're simply just floating heads- I could go on. I also used my finger since this was before I got a pen for my tablet.

Of course, their designs have definitely changed, and most likely will continue to change in small ways over the next lifetime. Hairstyles are the easiest to point out, considering they're only floating heads here, but even those tell a lot from a little.

ALSO THE FACT THAT LUMIE ISNT EVEN THERREEEE!!!! Her original design idea (back when she was just a concept of a character I'd like to make, and nothing more) was just. this (below)

^ She was pale, thin, tall, with straight black and white hair and fancy clothing. Really, the only things that stayed with her design afterwards were the white lips and bangs covering where her eyes would be (as this design was still from the same inspiration.)

The original ones were also based so much more heavily on their inspiration(s), and it's been nice to have them at a point where they (and most of my other oldest characters) are so much more than that now.

I don't know man, I just think it's nice to be able to be here, years later, looking back at how far I've come. The sudden artstyle improvements, the experimentation, all the highs and lows, I just can't wait to keep going and see where this all goes! It's been a hell of a blast so far, I can tell you that much :]
