Right now my two hyperfixations are Ace Attorney and Ride the Cyclone and the gremlin in my brain is telling me to smush them together. So... Ace Attorney rtc AU.
I think the most obvious one is Klav as Mischa. They're both Europeans who make music, somewhat of a bad boy reputation, and are DEFINITELY at least a little fruity. Plus Klav would absolutely belt out a song for his lobe.
Next, I think that Miles Edgeworth himself would be Noel Gruber. They're both sassy, pretentious gay men, Miles definitely has a secret thing for French noir films, and Miles would hate working at a Taco Bell and having a song he ironically listened to played at his funeral. Plus Bratworth is so Noel Gruber.
Ocean is Sebastien Debeste. Ocean thinks she's da best (see what I did?) just like Sebastian. Both are top of the class and take that a little too seriously. Sebastian would also call himself a futher muckin' hero. He's also a bit misguided like Ocean but ultimately has a good heart. He would also want the second chance at life as bad as Ocean because he knows he can do great things.
Constance was a bit difficult. I mean, I doubt anyone in the Ace Attorney series had a lot of good memories in their childhood homes, but I think that Maya was the closest. I mean, she goes back to Kurain often and has good memories with Mia and Pearl. Then there's Constance’s song Sugarcloud that really seals Maya in her role. Maya absolutely believes in escapism from her issues. Like, look at her family, then look at her. There's no way that girl isn't burying all of her problems. Plus out of all the characters, Maya is one of the nicest.
Here me out for Ricky: Apollo. Firstly, there's an entire musical number about sexy cat women, and who better to shove into the roll than the man who calls his cat his girlfriend? And with his million backstories, it's almost inevitable that he lived in a house with fourteen cats at some point. Ricky is also a very sweet character and very perceptive to others' emotions, especially Jane's.
Jane Doe herself. The spooky, odd girl who has no identity. Because this is an AU and I am God, the role of Jane Doe is going to Phoenix Wright. One, Phoenix would HATE not having an identity. Through the Ace Attorney series, he made a name for himself. His career and reputation meant so much to him that he was completely lost after being disbarred. Not only that, but we know very little about Phoenix's past. We don't know his parents, if he had any siblings, or what his childhood was like aside from everything with Miles. All we really know about his family is his distant grandfather, Ryunosuke Naruhodo. He would also be devastating on Jane as he's the protagonist of his series, and he would lose that.
Lastly, there's Karnak. The one who summoned these silly dead teenagers and gave one another chance at life. It's literally the judge. In Ace Attorney, he listens as these goofy little fruits make their cases and ultimately decides if the defendant lives or dies. While Karnak doesn't necessarily condemn the other to death, he has the power to give one the prize of life.

(This is part of my AU of Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby Doo Meets Courage The Cowardly Dog movie. In it I included my CTCD OCs such as Barry, Onyx, Carnelian, Kameron, Francine, Bunitty, Crister and Bard. Now I am including my new Scooby Doo OC named Cookie into this)
During their visit to the mayor's mansion; Barry heads to the museum. In there, everywhere is filled with medals, trophies and ancient items. But then he heard something that caught his ears. A large chest that is moving about.
"Hello?" Barry approaches the chest, he tries to open the handle. The chest begins to shake, making the black cat release a shiver in his body. But seeing the shaking, he also hears sounds coming from inside of the chest.
"Well if only someone who is over here, who can easily... help me out... again! Which makes it...! A voice is heard from inside the chest and it keeps on banging. In Barry's mind, he thinks that the shaking chest can be haunted and that it has been possessed by a ghost. He pulled out his toy gun if there was something about to approach him, he aims it at the chest.
When suddenly… the chest opens up! Barry is pounced to the floor by a caramel coloured dog wearing a hazel brown, turtleneck sweater along with their tail wagging so quickly.
"You okay?"
'Yeah…" Barry gets himself back up.
"Hi!"
"...Hello."
The dog chuckled when they got up to their two paw feet "Oh my crumbs you look so cute!" They look at Barry, who is on the floor. "Oh, oops, sorry. Need a hand to help you up?" They extend their paw out for him to reach and grab. "Sure." Barry grabs his paw and he stands back up on his own feet.
???: Or should I say “paw” cuz’ I'm a dog
Barry: …Right
???: So– what's your name anyway
Barry: Barry
Cookie: Barry, good name that is. I'm Cookie! [extends his paw out] Put her there friendo
[The two shake hands/paws with eachother]
[As they walk out of the museum. The two head to the kitchen where Shaggy, Scooby and Courage are in]
Cookie: [opens the kitchen door] After you friendo
Barry: Thanks [walks through with Cookie behind him] [to the trio] Hey guys–
Cookie: Scooby!
Scooby: Rookie!
Barry: Wait a minute, Scooby. YOU KNOW WHO HE IS?!
Scooby: Yeah
Cookie: Hey Shaggy
Shaggy: Like what's up Cookie [the latter gives him a thumbs up]
Cookie: [chuckles with the two, until he sees Courage with Barry] Oh? Say Bar, who's this you with here
Barry: This is my friend Courage. Courage, meet Cookie
Cookie: Courage ey? It's odd to name a dog called Courage [Courage nods to that]
Cookie: Huh, I notice that…
Barry: Noticed what?
Cookie: I have a friend who is dog that is part of a mystery solving people
Barry: Yeah?
Cookie: And you have a friend who is also a dog
Barry: Yes! And he has his owners who raised him here in the middle of Nowhere
Cookie: Nowhere huh. But how did your friend end up in here
Barry: Eh… It's a long story
Cookie: Ah okay
Shaggy: Behold, the majesty of what Scooby-Doo and I like to call…
Shaggy and Scooby: El Sandiwicho Extra Grande! [Barry is surprised by that]
Barry: I didn't know that you both have a massive talent of making a sandwich like that
Shaggy and Scooby: A little mustard, a little of that… And that, and this. A little more, a little more.
Shaggy: Like man, don't forget the anchovies [Barry takes one anchovy fish and eats it]
Eustace: Anchovies? Yuck!
Cookie: [quietly, to Barry] Geez, what a grump
Scooby: Hmm. Needs more mustard [squirts the mustard] Oh. Excuse me [both him, Courage, Cookie and Shaggy giggle] [squirts more] Why I never [the three laugh at that] [squirts even more] [gasps] Must've been something I ate
[They laugh at Scooby's joke, with Courage laughing so hard he fell off the stool. Cookie and Shaggy also join in, while Barry looks fazed and unamused, that he doesn't understand all of this]

The namechange sucks for me bcs 1 2 hit of: seBastion of the Law pun gone AND Eustace is one of those weird names that hits the do not process insert trombone noises button on my adhd panel in my brain. And the new surname is equally unmemorable at least end it with s! So now my brain is generating Euchre Bidding.
...that would actually be a great AA side character name, especially for someone who plays cards, maybe one of Phoenix's poker buddies or something. (thinks fondly back to some of the exorbitantly illogical calls I made back when learning to play euchre with my family, many of which paid off far better than they had any right to)
Honestly, I'm not surprised we got a name change, it was to be expected, I'm more... disappointed. AA has a rep for clever or at least amusing/cool sounding names, and Eustace Winner is just so... bland. It's a side character name, not what you call a primary antagonist to ally character. :/
All that said, I'm not actually that concerned about the crummy name they gave him, more excited that lots more people are going to get a chance to meet The Boy in his actual game. I'm not doing a lot in the AA space outside Saturation or the occasional AU anymore, and if anyone encounters him in my writing it's fine - they'll either Learn or decide it's not worth the bother and go somewhere else. Either way, as long as they are properly appreciating The Boy, I am content. :)
Thanks for the ask!

Well shit this ace attorney au case whatever thing has a rough outline.
Frick.
Well I’ll get down what I got now before I forget when I get back into the persona zone:tm:
This is beyond just like playing with giving Bobby a niece this turned into a future fic sort of situation so uh yeah imma ramble
There will be spoilers for AA5 below soooo
So this would be another time skip game which takes place roughly 8 years post duel destinies (spirit of justice is acknowledged I just haven’t played/watched the game in a while so all that matters is Apollo is off doing his own cool spinoff game adventures)
Our protagonists are Athena Cykes who’s mentoring the newest attorney to join the wright anything agency!… currently unnamed guy who I’ve been calling Pathos because I kinda want that to be his last name.
I’ll list down themes and the general vibe I want this ‘game’ to have since uh at most it might be a future fic.
‘Gameplay’
For all intense and purposes this is the closest we’re getting to Athena cyckes ace attorney, depending on how the writing goes it might actually just be my pitch for the game but some ocs are here because I’m normal about them. The pov would swap between Athena who’s come into her own as a lawyer (it’s been 8 years) and is mostly trying to do her best to mentor the young attorney who sought her out specifically because of her psychology specialty.
And then there’s Pathos, who since Apollo isn’t here is the new punching bag straight man! I’m still developing him but he’s a more serious/level headed attorney, who’s biggest flaw is he can’t be as unbiased as he wants to. Like it or not he’s swayed by his own emotions more than he wants. Pathos’s ability is that he can read peoples expressions and tell if they’re hiding how they truly feel/if their expressed emotions don’t line up with their words/can pick up if someone is trying to smother theirs emotions. Idk the specifics might change but my idea is it’s like an investigation version of apollos lie detection and Athena’s mood matrix, but instead the contradiction you point out is if their emotional response doesn’t line up with their words.
Pathos grew up in a situation where learning to read if someone was about to snap was how he survived, he learned this skill as a means of survival, it’s not something he was born with.
Aaand that ties into the overall theme.
Emotions.
How they’re expressed, how they’re smothered, and how they drive someone.
Listen if the main mentor is Athena there’s gonna be a lot of emotion talk, I’m thinking her mood matrix is primarily for the court room while Pathos’ thing is for investigations primarily, but they can cross over.
Uh anyways what’s the big case:tm: for this ‘game.’
That fucking spy orginization duel destinies can’t just drop that and NOT ELABORATE so I will and am. The past case is that a few years ago a deal was made with the phantom that got interpol names and locations of the phantom’s handler and others who worked for the unnamed spy orginization. A raid was done and many criminals and spy agents (assets??) arrested, however not all were captured and importantly in this story, the phantoms main handler (and trainer??) wasn’t caught. And the background story is that Simon is working with Interpol to track down those stragglers.
Notably, Poppy Fulbright (who’s a detective now that’s she’s grown) has also been helping but she’s uh… kinda been doing her own investigation. She wants Justice for her uncle and isn’t afraid to get involved in stuff she shouldn’t to that end. Sure hope that doesn’t get her in trouble haha!
Uh anyways other notable things I’m turning over in my head-
The main prosecutor is Eustace Winner/Sebastian Debest. Because I love him and I’m biased. I think at this point he’s come into his own as a prosecutor but he very much isn’t the best around. He still gets hung up on his words or how to say what he means, but he searches for the truth and always aims to do his best on every case he works. I just think the prosecution team being goofballs who genuinely want to find the truth would be a fun contrast (plus with Pathos being more serious the side characters get to be more goofy as a treat)
The assistant to pathos is a school friend who I think is studying to be a judge? Idk she’s planning to go into law at least, she’s also only a little younger than pathos (lawyer oc is 20 while assistant is like 19) I’m still figuring out her personality dynamic but leaning towards she’s the middle ground between the serious Pathos and energetic and bubbly Athena.
I love the judge but I don’t think he can survive another time skip, he can retire, therefore Juniper Woods is the new judge in this essay I will- (I’m not against judge Courtney who I’m forgetting the new offical localized name of being the judge either but listen listen lesbians. Gay people if you will. Plus it’d be funny for pathos to witnes his mentor and the judge lady flirting outside of court he’s just ????? It’s great)
Pheonix is around but at this point is very much letting Athena handle things, wt most he gets a few camios, this is Athena’s ‘game’ he’s off with his husband edgeworth or something. Trucy is also around and I think is doing well. If she doesn’t show up say she’s on tour for a magic show or something and pheonix is so proud.
Apollo is mentioned only at the start and it’s a framing device for the introduction as Athena is writing him to tell him about the newest rookie she’s going to be mentoring. Again, he can be off doing his own spin-off adventures.
Honestly it’s a running gag that pathos keeps getting thrown off by how many people poppy has claimed in her weird found family thing, she calls his mentor auntie, prosecutor winner uncle (playing with the idea Eustace and Bobby are half siblings for my au stuff so bringing that in here), the scary samurai lawyer uncle, some dead detective is her uncle, and it keeps getting weirder and pathos just is so lost. (And a little jealous she’s got such a connected support network)
Also. The fate of the Phantom is kept vague until it’s revealed for certain towards the end of case 4 leading into 5. Because it was a bit of a touchy case internationally a lot of things were kept tight lipped about the phantom and wether they were executed or not. Officially, the phantom was executed for their crimes after giving all the information they could.
Unofficially, they cut a deal to work with Interpol to take down the spy organization they came from, and any future ones (though they are essentially working off their sentence)
Honestly idk if the phantom would have a ‘true face’ at this point or has claimed one that looks suspiciously like Bobby Fulbrights idk this would tie into some investigation game thing with Simon and also au stuff and I have not thought about that too much just yet. This is all vaugly thought out and subject to change.
If it wasn’t clear the lead detective is Poppy Fulbright. Though Emma could show up for forensics idk I’d need to double check what she’s up to post spirit of justice
There’s either a new youngest Payne brother or the first case prosecutor is the son/nephew of one of the Payne brothers. I’m undecided if it’s funnier if there’s just more brothers that keep spawning and becoming prosecutors or if this has become a family occupation the next generation of Payne’s are continuing. Dealers choice.
Uh… ok final note
I’m still really vague on the cases of this game but I want an underlining theme to be emotions being surpreased/hidden causing harm.
Like a disgruntled wife finally snapping, or secrets being held for the sake of feelings causing a bigger blowout than if things were communicated, someone hiding their true feelings under a mask of indifference that sort of thing.
Ties into the theme and means I can justify mood matrix scenes because fuck you I love that gimic a lot and I’d this is ‘Athena’s game’ the fic then I get to shove in all the court therapy!!!! Nobody can stop me!!!!
Uh anyways yeah that’s what I got so far, any comments or questions are appreciated.
Like I said I won’t be working on this seriously for a while I got other writing projects I wanna finish/plan out before sitting down to work on a fic that has at least 5 to 6 mysteries in it when I’ve only written like TWO at this point.
So yeah ramble over hope you enjoyed ^_^

I swear I have normal Narnia headcanons. However, none of them are featured in this post.
So! If you've been following my series of posts about my Inhuman Narnia AU and the couple of oneshots I posted on ao3 under ASkyOfKai, you've probably noticed that in this little universe I've created, Narnia is sort of...sentient. And I've just realized that I've only actually gone into depth about this on Discord with my friends who are probably very tired of hearing about it. So I'm making y'all suffer through it instead. Welcome to Inhuman Narnia 101, please take your seats because this is going to take a while.
Warning for religious themes, theological discussion, and some dark fantasy/inhuman/body horror concepts that involve blood and physical changes.
BEFORE I SAY ANYTHING: Please keep in mind that an AU is meant to be an alternate universe that may not follow canon information. If anything in this post contradicts canon on the creation of Narnia (it undoubtedly will), pay it no mind, this is an AU. It doesn't have to follow canon.
First off, a little explanation of the Inhuman Narnia AU in general. Basically I came up with this AU after seeing some other people on tumblr post about the Pevensies being not quite human after their time in Narnia. Just eerie, cryptid, a bit of dark fantasy kinda stuff. And I was like, "I'm in love, sign me up, I have ideas." I did not sit down and develop this all at once. The worldbuilding I've done for it has come slowly over the past few weeks through posts, fanfics, and discord rambles. The idea of Narnia being a sentient earth deity of sorts is a recent one and there is already so much to it. (Also I call her Narnia because it's convenient, she has other names but I haven't bothered to like, actually make any up so Narnia is what she's called.)
The most important thing to note starting off is that Narnia is not supposed to be a replacement for Aslan, nor is she necessarily "the hero to his villain". Aslan and I have an interesting relationship, as he is literally God/Jesus/The Holy Spirit/etc and I no longer really identify as Christian. While there are times that Aslan definitely takes a more antagonistic route in my writings, I don't actually see him as a bad guy, nor as a good guy. As God, he literally removed from our concepts of good and evil (in my opinion). The same goes for Narnia being an earth deity. I am a Christian-raised pagan, and I definitely subscribe to the idea that gods and deities are not subject to humanity and our rules. Narnia is not a good goddess, she is not a bad goddess, she simply is a goddess. Plain and simple. The dichotomy that exists between Narnia and Aslan in my writing is generally that of opposing deities, but this isn't a hard and fast rule. There were and still are times when they're friends, working towards the same goals. There are times when Narnia's power is stronger than Aslan's and times when Aslan's power is stronger than hers. There is no simple 1:1 comparison between them.
So, getting into motivations and why Narnia as a deity even exists. Essentially, I asked the question, "How do the Pevensies become inhuman?" and voila earth deity Narnia was born. Now, the basic in-universe mythology I've worked out is that Narnia and Aslan are two deities from separate dimensions that came together to create a new world, the world of Narnia. Aslan is the one who oversees things, he's the one who comes up with the ideas, and he's a little less attached to the world as a whole because he's a Creator, not an earth deity. Narnia is, however, and she literally makes up the world, she sort of runs the entire thing on a physical level, and she is much more attached to it. So she's always kinda taken on this role of making the things in her world the way she wants them. For the most part, she and Aslan designed everything together and they're both happy with it blah blah blah. Well, Aslan then decides to bring a few humans from this other world he's created to Narnia. And she affects them a bit (I've got headcanons about Digory and Polly that I haven't posted anywhere yet but I might soon), but it isn't until Aslan brings the Pevensies over that she really gets to experiment. See, there are other deities in the world that kinda rule over the various lands on a surface level (patron gods for Telmar, the Archenlands, etc, they just have less power than Narnia and Aslan) so she has a little less power over the people in those places, but the country of Narnia is both her land and her so when the Pevensies become the Kings and Queens and live there for 15 years, she's very connected to them. And it's through this connection that she starts to affect them. Honestly, I'm not sure if Narnia even knows what she's doing when she starts stripping away their humanity. I think it's that she can feel they're not from her world and she doesn't like that. She wants them to be a part of her, she wants them to belong in her world just the same as everyone else. (Side note—I know Telmar and some other lands in canon are based on people finding portals and coming through and I'd like to say that she does affect them a bit, takes away a bit of their humanity, but it's not to the same extent as the Kings and Queens of her lands).
"So Kai," you might say, "You keep empathizing that she is literally the land and the land is her. What the hell do you mean by that?" Well, essentially, she is...the...land. Basically if you've read Percy Jackson Heroes of Olympus, there's this idea that Gaia and Tartarus are both physically their domains and able to take on a smaller, human shaped physical form because they're gods and not restricted by human ideas of only having one body. Narnia is the same. Her physical form is both the entire world and whatever smaller shape she might appear in to people. However, we have to acknowledge that their world is differently structurally from ours. There's magic, there's talking animals, and in my Inhuman AU, there is a literal Heart of Narnia at the center. Like a physical, beating, human-shaped heart. Except it's a lot bigger than a regular human heart. Also it's golden. And many many many miles underground. So anyways this is where she's centered. It's basically where her soul is. Probably under Cair Paravel because I just came up with that idea and I love it. And radiating out from it are veins of magic and blood, and these stretch all across the world. Now here is where we get into blood magic and some of those fun terrifying concepts I've come up with.
Narnia has her own blood, of course, but also whenever one of her Kings or Queens bleeds in battle, she kinda pulls it down through the earth into her own heart and veins. It doesn't really do anything to her or them in particular, it's just a fun side effect of them having a patron pagan god. Yes this includes Caspian after he becomes King. Also Peter's blood turns golden because he's the High King, and then later Caspian's does too because I just really like imagery of Ben Barnes bleeding gold. (Side note—when Peter returns to England, his blood goes back to red, but it does remain a brighter red than blood generally is).
Diverting for half a second here. Now, in both my regular Narnia writings and my Inhuman AU, Lucy is very very connected to magic. In my regular Narnia fanfic, she studies with the druids, who are sort of like BBC Merlin's druids. They're just like, chill dudes who run around in camps doing magic and making prophecies and shit. However, in the Inhuman AU, they are a lot darker. One of my favorite ideas with the Inhuman druids and Lucy is that they are so connected to Narnia's magic and her Heart that their hands become stained with blood. Is it their blood, is it Narnia's blood, is it someone else's blood? Idk, don't ask questions. But yea, their hands are permanently stained reddish-brown to almost black. In my regular Narnia stuff, I still like the idea of Lucy's hands being stained and go with just earth magic, dirt stuff for the reason why. But yea no, in the Inhuman AU her hands are stained with blood because of blood magic.
So getting a bit more into how Narnia affects the Pevensies now because I love talking about this lol. She doesn't consciously chose how to change them, though she does call them her creations. Generally the way her magic affects them is by connecting them to to the land in some way and bringing out certain traits they have. So for Peter it's his eyes flickering between regular blue and the amber of a lion's, feathers appearing on his back that grow into wings, having a strength greater than that of a giant's. His blood is golden and on clear nights, the Aurora Borealis in the sky is reflected across his skin. For Susan, her skin glints like glass in the sun and she can briefly glimpse the future. Her wounds are sewn shut with golden rays of light, her eyes are cracked but clear, and she seems to glow faintly in the night, a bit of the sun's radiance shining through her. Edmund has a bit of a star's power lodged in his throat, and can manipulate words, uses them to influence people and their actions. His skin is frostbitten in places, a side effect of ruling the Woods where the White Witch once held so much power, and in some spots his bones shine under the ice that spreads across his skin. Lucy has the stained skin from her stronger connection to magic, and when she speaks words from the Old Language (the one Aslan and Narnia used to shape the world itself), her voice echoes and rasps. Her teeth are too sharp, her smile too wide, and when she disappears underwater, she can stay for hours without surfacing. I want to get into Eustace and Caspian now too but this post is already extremely long and I've still got a bit to cover, so we're just sticking with the Pevensies for now. So yea, Narnia doesn't pick what she does to the Pevensies, she just connects herself to them and through that connection, they change. The magic that she is made of, that Narnia the world operates on, that's what changes them. However, as I stated already, she does call them her creations and feels extremely responsible for them.
Wrapping back around up to the beginning, this is the biggest source of conflict between her and Aslan as of the canon timeline. I like to believe that the lamppost incident was an accident, that Aslan didn't actually mean to send them back at the end of LWW and it was pure coincidence, wrong place wrong time stuff. That being said, it did happen and Narnia really didn't like it happening. The Pevensies did return to their (mostly) human selves in this AU in England, so when they came back in Prince Caspian, she felt disconnected from them again. She reacted to this by digging into them even harder on a spiritual level and essentially speedran them back to being inhuman throughout the timeline of PC, which generally takes place over a few months in my mind. I don't remember how long it was in the book, it's been quite a while since I read them, but it's only like a week in the movie and like eff that, overthrowing a kingdom takes a bit longer in my opinion. Now there are a few divergences here. 1. They all stay at the end of PC and yea that's it, they go back to being Kings and Queens and it's like a second Golden Age but with Caspian there as well. 2. Susan and Peter stay, Lucy and Edmund go back and it's a repeat of the human/inhumanity cycle for them + Eustace in VOTDT and then they stay. 3. Everything happens exactly as it does in canon and it's a constant cycle of humanity/inhumanity with the character's various trips and finally ends at The Last Battle. I like all versions and I tend to leave things a little open to the reader on what exactly happens, or I would if I could actually finish some of my drafts and post them. As you can imagine, Narnia likes 1 the best and 3 the least. She really wants her Kings and Queens to stay and rule her lands and like be awesome and stuff. However, Aslan prefers 3 the best and 1 the least. So again, neither of them is really good nor evil, they just have differing opinions on how the world should be run and what the Pevensie's fates should be. I do tend to side with Narnia, I really like exploring these concepts of inhumanity, but I also really like the concept of a cycle. That's very common in mythology.
So anyways, that's a bit of an overview on earth deity Narnia and her role in my Inhuman AU. If you made it this far, congratulations, and I give you explicit permission to use any of my ideas in your own writing/fanart/whatever, as long as you tag either my tumblr or my ao3 (lord-of-christmas-lights and ASkyOfKai) because I need more Narnia+Inhumanity content in my life. Thanks for reading all this and I'll probably be back very soon with elaboration on Eustace and Caspian's inhumanity!

So considering we are getting to the probable end of the Desire and Decorum in the next chapter or two (and I really don’t want it to end, it’s a very close second favourite series only beaten by Bloodbound because I love vampire myth and lore not sparkly Twilight vampires and believe me it is very very close between the series), I’ve decided it would be actually quite fun to properly introduce the future Sinclaire clan (the children of my MC, Beatrice and Ernest) as I have alluded to in most of my Desire and Decorum fanfics so here they are:
Tumblr media
In order of birth:
Vincent Harry Sinclaire:
the eldest of the biological children (biological because the MC and Ernest could adopt Percival at the end of book 3).
Named for his grandfather, Vincent and his uncle Harry.
His godparents are Briar and Edmund.
he was born two months early in 1821 (unless Pixelberry pull a oh and the MC is pregnant at the end of book 3 or the Christmas special, which I am half expecting because Pixelberry need something to happen in the Christmas special and considering contraception was literally non existent in regency times the chances of MC getting pregnant soon after the wedding are high) in which case his birth year will be moved to like 1817 or 1818 to keep with the cannon of the book.
almost killed his mother in the process due to her Hemophilla (I headcannon that my MC has Hemophilla but is just extremely lucky and doesn’t get hurt very often despite the fact that she does some risky stuff that could end up getting her hurt in Desire and Decorum) but they were both perfectly fine in the end.
He is a very intelligent and strong willed boy with the same sullenness his father had as a child
protective of his younger siblings
Seriously don’t touch them or you will die
There was a rumour going round that he was illegitimate due to his early birth (probably spread by Henrietta) which were constantly called into question right up until Ernest had enough and presented the birth certificate of his son to a court and got that to verify that Vincent was his at some point when Vincent was about to question it himself in his teen years (the plan was not entirely fool proof but still this was the 1800s)
Probably bisexual
Has his mother’s dark hair and his father’s blue eyes
Doesn’t want to be heir to Edgewater but does become the earl in the future.
Mary Lydia Sinclaire:
Born after Vincent in 1822 with her twin brother George.
Older twin by twenty five minutes
Named after her parent’s mothers.
Her godparents are Annabelle Parsons and Luke Harper.
Very loud and Rambunctious child
She could rival lady Theresa Sutton (her probable aunt considering where book 3 is going with Harry’s romantic attention) in her loudness
At age six she goes almost mute with grief only talking to her mother, father and close friends for years
She’d probably be a Gay idol in today’s world, and she turns out to be gay but she does marry for convenience (although her mother does know about her daughters sexuality and is completely accepting of it, shocker for the time, I know but remember she’s friends with Mr Chambers and Mr Konevi and was accepting and supportive of them so why should it be any different for her daughter?)
Has her father’s hair and mother’s green eyes
Idolises Annabelle Parsons like she’s a godesss (she is her godmother after all)
Inherits Ledford Park From Ernest after his death (breaking the tradition of properties going to the first born son or any sons before daughters) which is a surprise that nobody but Ernest and Beatrice were expecting to happen.
George William Sinclaire:
Born 25 minutes after Mary in 1822.
Named for King George (III) as that name was a very popular name at the time anyway and being the Championess of the Realm his mother needed to honour the crown in some way and William Shakespeare, the playwright who’s play, ‘Much Ado about Nothing’ was the first book she read upon arriving at Edgewater.
His godparents are the same as Mary’s.
Quiet boy
Follows his sister’s lead a lot of the time.
Has a teddy he loves more than anything (except from his twin sister of course)
Very close to his uncle Harry
Enjoys playing sword fights with his brother Vincent
Looks like Ernest. Like a lot. Split image of him.
Becomes ill with yellow fever during his father’s birthday celebration
Passes away days later at the age of six
Doesn’t get to say goodbye to his twin or other siblings as they are at Hazelvale with Annabelle at the time.
His parents are there though
Impacts the entire family dynamic forever.
Eustace Fitzwilliam Sinclaire:
Born in 1823.
First of the unplanned children.
Named after Fitzwilliam Sinclaire (the guy who’s initials are engraved in the family gun) in his second name. He is also named after St Eustace (the patron saint of difficult situations)
Godparents are Viscount Harry and miss Theresa Sutton.
His parents had pretty much called time on having children after the surprise of twins but obviously weren’t calling time on having fun 😉 (lack of sexual education and communication at the time meant most people didn’t have a clue that not having protection meant more risk of conceiving) and therefore he came into existence.
Inherited Hemophilla from his mother (the only one to do so)
Age 4 he fell down the stairs and had an uncontrollable bleed in his leg. Doctors were able to save it and him.
But he is stuck with a often painful limp as a result and using a crutch or something to walk.
He’s basically the tiny tim of the family (apart from the dying)
Quiet and clingy child. And is another child with the sullenness his father had as a child.
Mummy’s boy
Has Ernest’s eyes and his mother’s hair
Headcannon that he is my bloodbound mc’s great grandfather and he married into the the bloodkeeper line.
Moves to America in the future
Clementine Briar Sinclaire:
Baby of the family
Born in 1828 a few months before Ernest’s birthday
Named for Pope Clement I, patron saint of Marines and Stonecutters (which is very relevant) and her step-aunt and mother’s best friend, Briar.
Her godparents are Bartholomew Chambers and Viscountess Lavinia (I headcannon that Beatrice becomes very good friends with the Viscountess after the whole wedding and nobody can tell me otherwise)
She also wasn’t planned 😂
Was born early due to stress from a incident involving Mr Richards and her mother (Richards being a d**k, basically asked to see her on his deathbed and then was a arse to her causing her to become stressed and go into labour- I have a fic in the works about it)
Often Feels left out as she’s the youngest
Especially when her siblings are remembering about George since she was a baby when he died.
Daddy’s girl
Ernest is very protective of her because of the whole Richards thing and because he feels guilty about it.
Has her father’s eyes and her grandmother Mary’s hair colour (genetics are funny).
Probably Autistic but because autism hasn’t been identified yet, she is undiagnosed.
Gets lost in her own world quite often
Enjoys stories and make believe
Loves pretending she is on the sea sailing off to far off lands.
Transcribes her mother’s diaries into a published book when she’s older- becomes a best selling author under the pen name, Clemence Bartholomew Smyth.
Marries a navy officer and sometimes travels to different countries with him in the future.
List of Fanfics they appear/ are alluded to/ mentioned in:
Family Life Series (series ongoing but very slowly and does have some cannon inaccuracies as it was started before book 2 ended)- part 1 (first part is a little hard to read due to dialogue being not spaced out so sorry part 2 is easier to read), part 2, part 3, part 4
Late Night Visitation- (this is now an AU and for some reason it wouldn’t let me edit the fic so I couldn’t change a mistake in the writing back to the way it originally was)
The Next Great Adventure
Goodbye, my Ernest

Family Party Fiascoes
Modern Au
Part Two of Family Dinner Fiascoes by popular demand.
Summary: Edmund’s “friend” arrives and tries to make a good first impression, but the Pevensies might make it difficult. She also overhears some interesting information about Edmund....
She checked the address Edmund had given her for a twelfth time before finally approaching the door. (Y/N) held her breath as she knocked in the center of the festive wreath. She mentally berated herself for staying late at school to finish an essay, which prevented her from joining Edmund and Lucy when they traveled home this afternoon. In the back of her mind, though, she knew she did it on purpose. She was avoiding meeting the rest of the Pevensie family. She completely adored the two that she had met (Edmund, especially), but from what Edmund told her about the rest of his family, she had at least a little reason to be concerned.
“My family is a bit...much.” He had told her.
“I’m sure they’re lovely, Edmund. I mean, Lucy is sweetest person I’ve ever met.”
“Well, Susan is really nice, but if you make the wrong first impression, she holds you to that for a really long time. I mean, you should have seen her Caspian…at least they’re finally friends now. Caspian’s cool, but gets really flirtatious when he drinks, just to warn you. Also, Just ignore like everything my parents say; they think I don’t have any friends and might try to adopt you.  And Peter…well…he has two sides, really.  When Susan brings a...err…a friend home, he interviews them like they’re applying for a job.  It usually starts with a question about your GPA or something.”
“And his other side?”
“Oh, well, with Lucy’s friends he just scares them away.”
(Y/N) tugged at the turtleneck of her sweater dress.  She changed at least eight times before leaving, wanting to make a good first impression.  It was imperative that Edmund’s family like her since she could definitely see them becoming her family-in-law one day.
The door swung open. (Y/N) expected her tall best friend and crush to be standing before her, but instead there was a blonde boy about Lucy’s height. He wore a scowl and an ugly green sweater.
“And who are you?” He demanded.
(Y/N) felt a wave of panic rise through her.  Had she gotten the wrong house?
“Eustace!” A woman’s voice called from within.  “Is that Jill Pole?”
“No! It’s some shabbily dressed woman. I think she’s selling something.”
(Y/N) stumbled backwards. Had Edmund given her the wrong address as a prank? Surely this irritating small person couldn’t be related to the reserved Edmund and exuberant Lucy. She opened her mouth to speak, just as a rather large woman appeared behind the boy.
“I’m sorry, but you can just take your magazines and bibles away from here,” The woman said, almost spitting in (Y/N)’s face. “If you couldn’t tell, we’re having a party. It’s terribly rude of you to-”
“Who is that Aunt Alberta?” A younger woman with long brown hair appeared around a corner. (Y/N) started to breath again as she recognized the girl as Susan, Edmund’s older sister, from pictures on Facebook.  She went to explain herself again. “I’m-”
“Why are we letting the cold air in? Close the door-oh, hello.”  A voice interrupted her. Another man stopped behind the growing crowd. (Y/N) could see Edmund’s jawline and nose in his face and realized that this must be Mr. Pevensie.
“Sweetheart! Where did you put the-” A thin woman, who looked very much like Susan grabbed Mr. Pevensie’s arm. “Are you-”
“What are we all standing around for?” Two young men, one blonde, the other dark-haired with a man bun, also joined the crowd. She recognized these two as Peter Pevensie and Capsian, their family friend.  They all stared at her; fourteen eyes fixed on her reddening face. Eustace and Aunt Alberta were particularly scrutinizing.
(Y/N) felt herself being overwhelmed already. She glanced behind her…she could make a run for it.  Or simply pretend she was selling something.  It suddenly occurred to her that, even if she did get a moment to explain, she wouldn’t know what to say. “Yes, hello, I am (Y/N), the girl who is madly in love with your Edmund, pleased to meet you.” She could feel her chance of a good first impression quickly slipping away. If she hesitated much longer they’d probably think her slow and incompetent
“Uhh…well, I…uhh…”
“(Y/N)! You made it!” Lucy shouted. She stood on her tiptoes, looking over her brothers. The Pevensies and Caspian all smiled at her, and (Y/N) smiled back.  Eustace and Aunt Alberta still scowled as they turned back into the house.
“This is (Y/N)?! Edmund’s girlf-” Susan elbowed Caspian to cut him off.
(Y/N) heard Lucy’s next statement as she was welcomed into the house and as Mr. Pevensie took her coat, though whether Lucy meant for her to hear it or the younger girl was just bad at whispering, (Y/N) didn’t know.
“Capian! Remember, we made a promise not to embarrass Ed. He really likes this girl.”
(Y/N) blushed and smiled. Edmund finally appeared just then. He wore dark jeans and a green button-down that really showcased how handsome he was. (Y/N) was glad this seemed to be a party just for family.
“(Y/N)!” He glanced nervously around at his family.  “I hope you haven’t been here long.”
“She just arrived.” His mother answered.
“Good.” He grabbed (Y/N) by the hand. “Come on, my Xbox is the basement. We can escape this holiday hullabaloo.” He turned to leave.
“Edmund wait!” Susan blocked his path. “I’m sure (Y/N) is hungry and would rather enjoy the party that was her whole reason for coming.”
Edmund and Susan stared each other down for a moment before they both turned towards (Y/N).  She knew Edmund wanted nothing more than to escape a social event, but Susan was right in that it would be rude for her not to attend the party she was invited to.  Even if playing Xbox with her best friend was all she really wanted to do...
She took a deep breath and smiled.
“Sorry, Ed. I think I’m with your sister on this one.  That buffet table looks pretty well stocked.” Susan nodded in approval and (Y/N) knew she nailed the first impression. The Pevensie family and (Y/N) filtered into the dining and living rooms where the rest of the party-goers were congregated. Edmund frowned and started to head for a corner to sulk in, but his friend stopped him. (Y/N) dropped her voice to a whisper and said, “Besides, your cousin Eustace almost slammed the door in my face. I think he could deserves a good, festive pranking, don’t you?”
Edmund smiled broadly and prayed that his family wouldn’t embarrass him too much.
He was madly in love with this girl.
