I wrote this at 6 am and proceeded to accidentally delete it goddamn it.

Anyway, this is me rambling about Kris because I love them and I have a lot of thoughts on what the hell their fucking deal is.

Kris is being controlled by the player, they're connected through the soul. But it seems that the whole soul thing has been happening for a while but we weren't always here so what the hell is up with that? My best guess is Gaster. He's been doing some experiments of sorts in Kris, maybe Kris themself is an experiment, it sucks. And that place in the woods is probably related to it and that's terrifying because Kris is scared shitless of this place, or at least very uncomfortable. Kris also doesnt seem to be able to break this control for real, they can break away from it temporarely and be a soulesss borderline lifeless body walking around but then they need to put it back later, so that sucks.

Is Kris the knight? While there is a possibility yes, I'm more inclined to Gaster being the knight because of his connections to Jevil and Spamton, and Kris might not be related to the knight in any way but their plans might correlate with each other so maybe Kris will join his side? I mean if Gaster is the one who made the soul connection then maybe not.

Also I don't think there is a third party controlling Kris, not even Gaster, and DEFINITELY not Chara. Guys. Y'know how this world seems to be humans and monsters living with each other because there was never a war? (Or maybe there was but the monsters were never banished). Then you know where Chara is? Dead. There was no one to help them in Mt Ebott and so they died, and so will the other 7 humans (including Frisk) because there's now way to climb up or call for help. Chara probably never even met the Dreemurr family (which is kinda sad to think about) so they're definitely not controlling Kris.

Now you might want to argue that Undertale!Chara is controlling Kris, but I dont think that's the case. First of all while this game is connected to undertale anyway because Gaster, I would think Toby would want a new villain for this game, also I think Chara would overlap with Kris' character and that would suck because I love seeing Kris and Chara as their own characters. But a more unbiased reason is that I think Kris already has enough motives to do what they're doing?

They're creating more fountains because their life sucks at the moment, their parents' relationship just crash and burned, Asriel is away for college and they cant even talk because the internet is down. Kris wants to have adventures with their friends! Yes, they have friends now!! Sure making new fountains is dangerous or whatever, but they can just seal it off right? So it's fineeeee (it isnt. Kris is ignoring the consequences and being selfish). Maybe they made the cyberworld fountain but they definitely didnt do the one at school so that's part of why I dont think they're the knight.

Why did Kris slash the car tires? I have no goddamn clue. That was so random-- even if Kris is being controlled by someone,,, why???? My best guess is that it would make Toriel convince Susie to stay here with them and tbh thats silly enough to be canon lol, I mean, last chapter Kris took their soul out to get pie so who knows at this point. Maybe we'll know more about it in later chapters.

So what was that ending?? Well, Kris made a fountain, and who is that on the TV? Well now we're getting into heavy theories territory. I think, that the person on the TV is actually a sneak peak of the new villain in chapter 3, since Kris made a new fountain there, maybe chapter 3 will be on the TV?

AND ALSO I think this villain might be Mike. Yknow, the guy Spamton mentioned. Because Jevil foreshadowed Queen, I think Spamton foreshadowed the chapter 3 villain, he did say "Dont trust anything you see on the TV Kris!! The man is a liar I'll tell you!!" Or something like that. Which also makes me think that Mike was the one who first contacted Spamton and proceeded to abandon him and Gaster found him later but maybe thats stretching too much. So yeah I think that smile is this Mike guy, Or whoever the chapter 3 villain is.

So yeah I think that's it. If you blame Kris or anyone else besides the player for the Snowgrave route I will seriously steal your kneecaps I swear to g o d--

oh man i can never decide- even tho they’re the same series they give off vastly different vibes-

i really like the retro feel of half life 1 games, being released in ‘98 and all- theres also like potential for some of the protags (namely gina and colette god DAMN im salty its not for pc or included in the steam bundle)

they got potential to maybe...make a return somewhere if/when they wrap up half life for good (adrian pls come home). like y’know tying some lose ends than just one-off if that makes sense? if not thats okay too, theres always fanon

despite the rescas happening in hl1 theres still like? a sense of normalcy and stability somewhere. civilization still exists. you get to see gordons dorm room in hl decay. you get to see some of the security guards kinda chill in blue shift and even help you out in opposing force. you can do dumb shit like explode the microwave casserole

also the cafeteria is fuckin hilarious to me like

even though the levels are designed kinda funky its like- you can kinda like??? picture life pre-rescas. gordon, gina and colette were all doing their scientist things. barneys just around making the best of his situation after 2 years in college (mood)

maybe its like the nostalgia factor. but its nice! even if black mesa is very fucked up and has a lot of osha violations stacked up

despite the background stuff in hl1 its also...very very lonely. the npcs dont follow far enough for you to save them and xen feels like a fever paranoia dream with all the dead hev scientists strewn everywhere

gameplay-wise its also nice to freely move around in cutscenes. adhd mood of moving around while scientist npcs are talking

i found half life 1 games surprisingly hard?? the use key is also kinda broken for me and oh my god i struggled a lot with the maps and fights ksjfnsdkfj

half life 2 on the other hand...holy FUCK the graphics are obviously better etc. etc. etc.

the use key is very fun too i hit many enemies with items and grav gun

gameplay-wise half life 2 is a lot more intuitive ?? and overall just better designed

theres of course an entire post about the characters- the cast is super super good 

and if i had to nitpick something, i dislike the fact that alyx and judith kinda conflict with each other for whatever petty reason (idk like those old ? ? cartoons or shows where the female charas hate each other for no reason?? judith could be like a cool aunt to alyx ok) idk maybe thats just me. anyway i love them and want them to be happy

eli and isaac ;__; i also care them... eli’s been through so goddamn much, lost so much in black mesa... please give him a nice vacation ok!! i also want to know more about azian vance... isaac kleiner is a very kind and sweet man and im always sad when magnusson yells at him :(

anyway MEGA upgrade of the cast from hl1 theyre no longer static, one-off characters (the core cast at least. i get so fuckin sad when the resistance members dont survive the fights T_T)

makes me a little sad theres no longer that old sense of stability in that world, everything’s fallen apart and gone and you always have to keep moving or die. as in like- there really is no telling what’s going to happen next since it feels all gloom and doom- animals being extinct, combine around the corner, old homes gone and dusted... pretty fucked up. your standard kind of apocalypse written in 2000s and what not

but there is still hope with the resistance. theyre your family and home now and its better than being alone

kind of inverse with half life 1 where like. yeah you’ve defeated the big bad nihilanth and survived the rescas but also gman stuffed you in the fridge while the seven hour war happens some time after

TLDR THEYRE BOTH REALLY GOOD...half life 1 might seem like shit but it should also be appreciated more!! (Read: gina and colette half life decay pls and thank)

hm well skam nl is my favorite and their social media game is trash LMAOOO so generally No but i do feel like remakes who DO have such a good presence kind of elevate the show and i think it’s pretty heartwarmin to see some remakes go sm farther than skam with social media and puttin out educational and IN CHARA resources like skames does this so well and i feel like in that way, the team is really really spreadin skam’s spirit via these resources (like joana’s billion bpd awareness ig accounts and lucas rubio’s yt channel)

2. Least favourite clip of the show? Why?

tbh there are definitely some duds but probably one of the clips with sana gettin herself into a hole in s4 just bc some were hard to watch cus cringey or yikes .... idk i cant think of others LMAO

3. Which character did you feel the most connected to and why?

season 1 - tbh even though i really enjoyed this season, it does take a while for it to build up like i rmr at first not being that interested until ep6 maybe ?? which is hard when you’re trying to get your friends to watch but they have to wait until ep6 before shit starts RLLY buildin up and gettin wild

season 2 - hm ig noora chasin after william ??

season 3 - bro NOTHINGGG call me a purist but its such a refined masterpiece like the pacing is good the characterization is so good ugh i deadass cant think of anythin

season 4 - i always felt a little ??? w noora being sana’s bff ig bc from s1-s3 it didn’t Feel like they were that close like even in noora’s pov, sana wasn’t really a part of it that much ?? like eva was more of noora’s bff ?? so i feel like it would have made more sense if maybe sana spoke more with chris or vilde bc sana and vilde eventually seemed to get closer esp with kosegruppa and chris has always been by sana’s side ?? idk that always confused me

5. What is your opinion on the cast’s participation on social media? Do you prefer it when the cast aren’t that involved like the Skam cast, or do you like a lot of content like the Fr cast do?

tbh i don’t care much abt the casts LMAOOO if anythin it kind of brings more harm as seen with the harassment axel and maxence get and also can bring more controversy like with irene (which honestly is p sad considerin how much i love skames bc now i feel super :/ watchin it like she shouldve just had private accts at this point)

OOOHHH ugh torn bc i like isak’s pov but also i want even’s so might have to forfeit isak season for even season ....... hm so probs vilde, sana, even, noora (maybe not w william tho) and honestly maybe jonas too ??

8. Are there any moments that you liked in the show that everyone else seems to hate?

IJXDWQOIJJ yes .... remakes-wise, people hate skam nl s2’s last half but i enjoyed it for the most part ... i think the pacing was off for the last ep but personally, clip 50 made up for it and is p god tier imo ..... and also don’t think the first half of ep10 is enough to discredit the entire season bc i rlly loved seeing liv’s pov and have sm fave moments from the season 

but skam wise, omg might get a lil controversial w this one IM SORRY !!! im bein honest and its Just my opinion ok 

personally s2 got me more invested than s1 and i don’t think its a super bad season like i didnt really say many problems wrong with it until i got on tumblr wiejioqjoiqjq i was sort of interested in the questions that the noora/william dynamic brought up which is, as expressed in william’s war speech to noora, that nothing is ever black/white which i feel was a huge message and feeds into the ‘you never know what ppl are going through’ theme of the season ... like i like the idea of someone like noora, who can have a black/white mentality (as seen in the first clip of s2 when she tells vilde that they can’t have the tannin company as their sponsor bc they objectify women or smth but misses the context and what it could mean for the bus monetarily bc shes caught up in bein ‘woke’) having to break out of that and see more than one side ... and i think remakes like skam austin expanded on this idea well like when zoya was like ‘must be so nice being right all the time’ which i Do feel like is an important for youth to know today .... bc i think its so easy to get caught up in the idea of being so objectively right and morally superior that people lose sight of the more nuanced characteristics to life ... (omg long ramble BUT)

also LMAOOOOO this one might be more controversial as it pertains to bench scene s4 ok oops again doNT GOTTA AGREE !! ........ but i feel like the scene had a lot of good intentions ... i was def kind of cringing a bit tho bc i understand the subject’s sensitivity and how these topics are hard to talk about but i genuinely feel like they both made Some points and should listen to each other .... like as Hard and as maybe ‘unwoke’ it is to admit, unfortunately you sort of do have to answer the tough questions bc that way we learn from each other .... and i perfectly understand why some ppl wouldn’t want to do this and i certainly am tired abt havin to answer shit abt my sexuality or stupid male questions abt women but if u dont answer them, people do go lookin for answers still and the internet is such a shitty place that its pretty easy (esp with youtube’s algorithm) to lead you to ignorant ppl and perhaps radicalization .... questions help us to better understand our community and sometimes they can have good intentions too but we have to ask and answer them or else people will make up answers (which ive literally seen and its honestly worse to see fake as shit and UNINFORMED answers bc ppl did not want to ask you or ppl of ur identity, esp when they’re already startin from a place of hate .... but i rather have ppl ask me patronizing questions than have them spread false info bc that can do much more harm in the long run) however i DO think that isak should also consider sana’s side and i sort of wish we saw him conceding more bc they both have smth to learn from one another, like sana shouldn’t just be learnin from isak, isak needs to learn from sana too

omg honestly too much to write here tbh ..... but if it says anythin im (very slowly) in the works of a three part skam essay about basically how skam teaches us to be better humans and how to better treat the people we care about diowjqioj essentially the three biggest themes of the show: you never know what someone is going through so always be kind, always communicate with your friends, and no person is ever alone and i feel like these are definitely rlly good messages to live by (also livet er nå BITCH !!!)

omg tbh i could not tell u at all how the skam charas are doing except i hope even is okay thats all im thinkin of ok .... OIWXIOJX omg remakes wise tho ..... honestly im so bad at this girl IDK !!!!! LMAO i have to really think i have a bit of vdh and dutch even but thats bc we know like Zero abt them so its easier oijwiojqio idk liv and noah bein cute as shit ..... ⁃ [ mconahey hey hey vc ] alright , alright , alright … this bitch never knew his father ! probably for the best, but surprise he was off in valdez up to no good, him and his dearest ma were in the city of stars ( angels ? ) LA ! his mother was an aspiring actress who never made it, but did her best to support him all the same . it made him kinda v independent , with a lot of time to himself which he spent mostly in nature b/c la has some rly nice hiking trails omg

⁃ suffers from ptsd stemming from a car accident he was in when he was like sixteen, resulting in the death of his step-dad and a rly bad stammer that he went to therapy for . 

⁃ mr. ethan was always curious abt his but his mom was adamant on telling him anything until he was eighteen . when he turned eighteen , his mom was like ye he’s in valdez i don’t talk to him but like do what u will with that info !

⁃ he takes a trip down to valdez to discover his dearest daddy is just bumming around total deadbeat… Sad  but ethan so very longing for that father figure keeps in touch, and gets to know him and for the most part rly likes him . discovers he has an alcohol abuse problem , most likely stemming from ptsd from vietnam .

⁃ anyhaps he doesn’t stay in valdez b/c he’s like nah .. not my scene lmao , but goes to school a couple states over in arizona , so he can be close to his momther and father … aw , but closer to mom cos she’s more Valid but he keeps in regular contact with his father and tries to see him at least once a year

⁃ he studies psychology and loves it , loves school , becomes a counselling psychologist specifically for those with ptsd ( but also has the right requisites for like psychiatry cos he took bio or whatever life sci requisite u need idk ) 

⁃ ok bare with me cos im not even sure on the details, but in the span of him first meeting his pops and now , dad ends up in jail ( he owed money to the savages, so did a job to pay it off which included a home invasion with several other ppl in which one person died, even tho he wasn’t the one who shot him , he took the fall cos he was pretty expendable considering he wasn’t actually part of the gang ) , ethan offers to help with costs of legal advice and his sentence is reduced to like ten years

⁃ n his dad is like hey im out ! come chill xd and ethan’s like ok !! and he comes and it turns out his dad’s been out of jail for like six months and has already amounted a debt against him so he’s doing jobs for the savages again ? and is like lol wanna help ,, , and a 35 year old ethan still vying for his father’s acceptance is like ok .. . ig

⁃ so he delivers some drugs ( his dad comes up with some bs excuse like the ppl he’s meant to deliver to will recognize him n beat him up or something ) but apparently it was the savages set up to kill his pops 1) b/c he’s a general nuisance and 2) so he wouldn’t speak out against them regarding the home invasion as he’d been trying to get outside law help to prove his innocence even tho it never amounted to anything

⁃ so instead ethan gets brutally beat up instead and nearly killedt until the assassin or whoever is like .. . im p sure the target’s meant to be older ghjfkfgh ( this wouldn’t be like assassin incompetence they were prolly just told kill the guy who shows up with the drugs xoxo ) the ptsd is NOT thriving ... 

⁃ as soon as he’s out of the hospital ethan goes stupidly all high and mighty to the savages hq being like wtf is up kyle , and they’re basically like,  if u wanna protect ur dad u gon have to stick around in valdez and mr. deadbeat dad over this is putting on the puppy eyes like pls dont let me die lol and reluctantly he’s like aight fam i got u

⁃ SO NOW HIS DAD’S JUST LIKE A 60 YEAR OLD SOD deadbeating around valdez basically trapping him and which rly shows his father’s true colours ( also did he kno that ethan cld’ve gotten killed .. maybe so ) and yet the amount of reverence ethan still holds for him is .. Crackhead level

⁃ honestly it’s been ten years and doesn’t know if the threat still stands but valdez has kinda been ingrained in him at this point and although he wants to leave he can’t bring himself to , it’s also why he doesn’t switch to the cobras even though he has plenty reason to  - feeling like participation in the feud would only ensnare him more

person who tried to assassinate him : he probably hates him ! still has nightmares about that night , so thanks for that ! wld be a rly cool connection to take up , and just wanna emphasize that whoever higher up probably just told the assassin to kill the person who showed up with the drugs so /technically/ it’s not their fault, but it is THEIR FAULT that they’re a frikken murderer ! all my charas a cowards , we been knew .

person who killed someone in the home invasion thingy resulting in his father going to jail : ethan probably hates this person too ! he has a lot of hate to go around .

hook-up : he’s 45 , not dead … though he’s not the biggest age gap stan , again , he’s a COWARD .

ex from before valdez : he probably lost contact with everyone when he came to valdez , sad , idk how this one would work honestly, but if they’re not from valdez hmu we can figure something out and hc !

ex in general : can healthy relationships exist in valdez ? exactly . someone who tries to convert him to cobra-hood omg : i mean he has a lot of reason to but just never bit the bullet idk !

FRANCES !

law clerk or crooked cop : this is kinda integral to her plot, basically the person who made sure she didn’t go to jail when she accidentally killed her father , i feel like frances would feel super indebted to them , but also hold the slightest bit of resentment towards them because she feels as though she deserves to go to jail .

college friend : if there are any students in this hizzy house , hmu ! someone she partied with in the brief time she was in college , and then also someone who introduced her to the clubs . can be the same person or someone else , but also someone she loves dancing with . also someone she can be a nerd with and like rent out a space or come to the club when it’s not open and learn dumb dance routines like the one from riverdale dhjfgf , I JUST REALLY WANT HER TO LEARN THE DANCE OK !

friend who comes over to dinner : listen her grandma worries abt her a lot ok and is always like do u even have friends lmao, so GIMME SOMEONE who comes over to dinner and says yes when gma offers a second serving and quells her grandma’s worries about frances .

BOBBY !

drug dealer : a man likes his drugs , we been knew . pretty basic . but ! uk what would be cool , if the drug dealer was older / same age as him and it was the dealer who got him into the gang , uwu solidarity ! i figured they had like a brief romance , remained good friends idk , we could figure it out . but if not , just regular drug dealer . he’s like hit me with the good stuff , he’ll take anything he’s not picky , just an addict .
