okay so this is super self indulgent but preface for those who arent aware i have this whole full world for my ocs & basically its like a 50/50 chance for any given person to have psychic powers called abilities & this ability is entirely dependent on the person themself & has nothing to do with genetics. ur either born with them or u can get them if ur from a different world & are isekai'd in. the only real thing about abilities is it has to be something a person can do with their mind/state of mind & isnt just like some super power like super strength.

anyway i realized this week i feel like i know the isotopes well enough so i ended up spending a lot of time thinking of what abilities they would have and i give u all my final decisions!!!

Kafu: she has something im going to call window creation. basically the ability to call forth 'windows' which ranges from just invisible walls in the air to creating a pane that lets her (or anyone near by to see it) see into a different place, time, or both. these are in effect solid walls/windows so its theoretically possible to use them as a weapon but given how kafu is i doubt she would think that way & instead would take a more defensive route, using them as a sort of force field or to get info the group otherwise wouldn't know

Sekai: i'm calling hers shadow manipulation. she can take control of shadows in the area and turn them into a semi-physical thing & from there pretty much becomes a distance attacker or defender depending on both her mood & what's necessary. i would like to think she also keeps a little shadow as a pet & it just follows her around or sits on her shoulder. the shadows can change shape btw

Rime: pyromancy. she gets to create & control fire at will. i like to think she puts too much pressure on herself to learn it & ends up unable to do it at first because of that but the second she lets herself breathe she finally gets it & from there puts in so much practice that her style with it ends up absolutely beautiful to watch. default flame color is red bc thats her color but it changes color/temperature with her emotions. u threaten one of the others and watch how fast it ends up blue-white.

Coko: fox. by shifting her mental state she can transform into a fox & while in that form can do things like create wil o wisp/fox fire & force fields, but mostly i think she'd specialize in creating illusions. she probably actually has multiple tails in that form but after drawing the rest of her outfit i thought one was enough to get the idea across. yes this is the third time im giving a chara this ability its bc im not allergic to fun normally people cant talk in the fox form but i like her so i guess she gets a little telepathy as a treat too.

Haru: consciousness walking. that is, she can separate her consciousness from her physical body & move around almost like a ghost. she can interact with the physical world on a minimal level in this state, but more importantly it allows her to see & interact with other people's consciousnesses in a way that's very easy to mess with their perception of the world & throw off their judgment & things like that. kind of like astral projection but not really, also if she gets really skilled with it she'd be able to move both her physical & spiritual forms at once although that is very tiring

favorite song: oh god it's a tie between NIKOTTE by 稲むり and Heat Abnormal by iyowa, but i'm going to use nikotte as my one allotted youtube video for this post because everyone who likes adachi rei knows heat abnormal and no one knows nikotte. i was sent nikotte by a friend a while back and i just fell in love with it and am always coming back to it, its a massive standout for me, and well. heat abnormal is heat abnormal. it's just too fucking good, iyowa is too good HSDJFSD that being said picdo is my favorite adachi rei user (this isn't surprising, he's such a passionate adachi rei user and it shows in his work) and i REALLY like this cover that uses rei (honorable mention to light speed drift by frog96 even though it's very teto heavy, it uses adachi rei)

KAFU. literally the fucking triad i keep pairing all the robot girls with each other but honestly you could convince me to ship rei with most vsynths i think. idk how to explain it she would just be good with like anyone. i also just love rei so much so this is a bonus i'm more likely to put mental energy into imagining her in Situations and Scenarios including shipping. oh yeah i also ship rei and rime but that's kind of a crackship i don't have an explanation for that. i should draw art of them sometime though

ships: i want you to take a wild guess (lighthearted joke) no but really the obvious answer is kaf/u. i should really go on a whole rant sometime about how i got into this ship and why but in general i've always been a mirror image shipping enjoyer (rinlen was like the only not-wlw ship i cared about as a kid lol etc) and i got into kaf as an interest intertwined with kafu, like i found out who kaf was by hearing one of kafu's demo songs and looking up her voice provider and being like "oh why are their names so similar and why do they look similar" so i just kinda... developed my interest in both alongside each other and as kamitsubaki kept putting out official art that was looking extremely gay and then COVERS (lord i need more real-person-duets-with-vsynth songs) i could not resist. there are so many things i love about this ship both within my fan interpretation of them and like. in the context of the "meta" of how kamitsubaki interacts with vsynth culture but this paragraph is already getting way too long.

favorite part of design: i love kafu's design a Lot but i am obsessed with her hair... diamond... things. in my AU that i'm really attached to they're mics/atmospheric temperature sensors but just in general i think they're cool and really stand out. kafu looks wrong/naked without them lmfao. and i like how they can be interpreted in different ways/used in art in different ways - both stuff like... the yellow triangle can be used as a symbol, but also whatever the fuck this is. whatever this gay shit is going on here!! official art btw!! the wires aren't even canon to her design kisumi rei just made that up and thank god they did

random headcanon: (talking about my android AU here) even once the option is presented to her to upgrade her body and make herself appear more human, kafu chooses to stay in her prototype body because she's become attached to it over time and would feel wrong in anything else. (of course kaf loves her as she is)

i have to go do stuff and stop rambling on tumblr but i just feel like mentioning. i think people who are solely into the kamitsubaki cevios without also being into VWP alongside them are Missing Out. i say this as someone who’s been majorly into vocaloid since 2011 and who never really cared about voice providers And found VWP through kafu/cevio first, it genuinely adds so much to the experience. the two are inseparable for me now and while i absolutely enjoy the cevios on their own like how i enjoy any other vsynth content, having the VWP aspect on top of it makes it Even Better. if u like kafu and have never heard a kaf song or you like rime and have never heard a rim song etc GO LISTEN TO ONE I PROMISE IT’S SO WORTH IT. KAMITSUBAKI MAKES REALLY COOL MUSIC VIDEOS TOO. THE CEVIOS PERFORM DUETS WITH THEIR VOICE PROVIDERS DURING CONCERTS EVEN!!
