Why did (do?) the Magivians film you with rage?
Racism, homophobia and anti-survivors trifecta. They had an epic case of Bury Your Gays back in S1 where like, their gay character had to kill his new love interest in self-defense after that guy was possessed by the bad guy, and then when he was understandably upset afterwards because theyâd made a point to hype this guy up as the first guy heâd ever had real feelings for, his friends were like boohoo get over it, which was likeâŚswell, lol. Oh and then that same character ended up forced into a marriage with a woman for the sake of some fantasy kingdom he didnât even give a shit about and was all of his friendsâ quest way more than it was his, and only then did they decide to have him say a line about how he was mostly gay but was occasionally into women so bi a little bit even though heâd always IDâd as gay before then so it felt like a patch job to cover up the fact that they only belatedly realized oh hey forcing our gay lead into a hetero marriage he doesnât want to be in is maybe Not A Good Look.Â
Oh and I do remember catching a bit of a S2 episode where like, the gay character was throwing an orgy in the palace to make himself feel better for being stuck in fantasy land ruling over a fantasy kingdom he gave no fucks about and was bored and lonely inâŚ.only to get chewed out by his wife slash queen (a native inhabitant of fantasy kingdom) about how rapey and coercive that was and an abuse of his power as king because his subjects didnât feel like they had the option of opting out. Which to be perfectly clear, is an absolutely valid point to makeâŚ.BUT the fact remains that like, they chose to write in that angle, and they chose to make their gay character the one to learn that Important Lesson About Consent and Power DynamicsâŚ.but oh yeah, they ALSO chose to write this particular gay character as forced into oh yeah, a hetero marriage he did not ask for and clearly did not want, for the sake of mystic prophecy bullshit resulting from someone ELSEâS personal quest. And that was justâŚ.soâŚoblivious to me? Its likeâŚ.ummmâŚ.could you not have the Straights educate The Pervy Deviant Gay on Consent Issues WHILST FORCING HIM INTO A HETERO MARRIAGE WITH ONLY HIS EXTREMELY RELUCTANT AND DUBIOUS CONSENT AT BEST??? Hellooooooooooooooo??
Then the racism side of the Awful triangle was like, their only two PoC in the first season (other than the blind black headmaster who was all kinds of Tropey âCryptic and Thus Untrustworthyâ from the way the narrative was framed which, no, stop)âŚ.the only other two PoC in the first season and main cast were the girl who just so happened to be set up by the plot as the one revealed to be the âtraitorâ or whatever who was there at the school under false pretenses and just stealing magic for other hedge witches. Like yes, she was under duress because they were threatening her mom I think? But I mean it was still like super predictable having her be the character that was put in that position and forced to fill that role. And then Penny, the man of color in the main cast, like, again I only watched the first season sporadically because I was like Nope every other episode and just skimmed in the hopes it would get better cuz everyone I knew kept raving about it, but I specifically remember one scene where like Penny was singled out by one of his teachers and told how he was super powerful like way more than any of his peers because he had like wild magic or somethingâŚBUT then the teacher went on to basically tell him this was more of a curse than a gift because his own power would eventually burn him out and destroy him or something like that. It was definitely framed as an inevitability, like, just his fate, a natural consequence to being the kind of magician he was innatelyâŚsuper powerful but with a shortened lifespan essentially as a trade off, with no way around that.Â
And he was something like a Traveler, able to take himself and his friends between worlds? Which was great and super necessary for the plot but also a big part of what made his magic so destructive for him himself in the long run, so essentially the man of color got set up to be a glorified taxi cab for his white friends aka the LITERAL plot vehicle, with it announced to him very early on in the show that like âdont be too happy about how mad powerful you are, cuz its basically just gonna kill you way before all your friends end up biting it, sucks to be you kindaâ. Again, this was early on in the show so I donât know if that changed or they added more context to that later, but just the fact that his character in particular, like Kadyâs, just so HAPPENED to be the one singled out for that particular plot niche and accompanying fate, likeâŚ.that was fucking bogus from the jump.
Oh and also there was that really cool (in that not all sort of way) and totally not at all predictable (in that it totally was sorta way) antiblackness that reared its ugly head the second S2 introduced the oft-mentioned âbarbarian kingdomâ that bordered Fantasy LandâŚ..because hey guess whether or not the first appearance of more than one black person at a time on the show was when a whole bunch of black people showed up in S2 as oh yeah, you guessed itâŚ.the natives of the neighboring BARBARIAN Kingdom. Classy, Magicians. Way classy.
And then the anti-survivors angle of the Triangle of Suck, like, the show fucking HATES âbad survivors.â You know, survivors who donât embrace forgiveness and tra-la-la their way into the sunset and recovery while weaving daisy chains and leaving all their anger and thoughts of vengeance and retribution behind them in the past? Like, god forbid a survivor fucking HATE the person who hurt them and want to make them pay, which was essentially Juliaâs S2 arc I believe? And boy was she fucking punished for that. Shit just got worse and worse for her, and it only got better when she decided to try the Healing Power of Forgiveness! Unlike one of her fellow survivors, raped by the same bastard who hurt her, who was also on the same Vengeance Quest as her, except she got murdered extremely graphically and painfully onscreen in likeâŚnarratively framed as a See Kids This Is Why Revenge Is Bad And You Should Not kinda way, that Julia was pretty clearly meant to learn from and Make Different Choices.Â
Oh and letâs not forget that the initial antagonist of the series, the dreaded Beast who killed tons of people and was the one who possessed the gay guy that the other gay guy had to kill right after their makeout session in self defense cuz lol why would that be traumaticâŚyeah, that BeastâŚ..letâs not forget that he was another Bad Survivor, a guy who was molested by one of the seriesâ Significant Backstory People years and years ago when he was just a kid. And thus he was pretty blatantly a case of Look How Stewing In Your Hate For What Happened To You Instead of Forgetting All Your Worries and Your Strife Will ABSOLUTELY Turn You Into A Literal Monster Who Murders People and Is Evil and Bad And Must Be Slain For the Good of Alllllll the Land.
And there was actually a lot more than just that because Survivors was a definite Thing on the show, with lots of them showing up and established as being survivors in various ways and almost all of them likeâŚ.being the focus of the series likeâŚ.perpetual hard on for torture and torturous death scenes for various satellite characters. Like donât get me wrong, the series pretty much kills people left and right, its just it weirdly just so happens that the first people standing in line to either the left or the right tended to be PoC, women, survivors, gay/bi characters or characters who lucked out and got to be all of the above for the handful of scenes before they met their untimely âWouldnât Wish It On My Worst Enemy Let Alone On My Or Any Friend of Mineâs Only Representation On This Showâ demise.
Anyway, yeah I hate that show and it dinged all my NOPE alarms hard from day one and I kept checking back in on it over the first season and then a little bit off and on after that in the hopes it had gotten better because I kept fucking hearing all over twitter and tumblr how amazing it was and progressive it was and Iâd watch the latest episode, jump up, yank my hair out and screech like a gibbon monkey while speaking in tongues and asking the universe to help explain to me what the fuck was I missing here, where was all this lauded Progressivism I was supposed to be taking away from all the miserable, tortured and murdered - and also abused, raped and exploited - PoC and occasional white gays or women tossed in to round out the variety pack??!?! Just did not see it, at all, Error 404 Not Found, Did Not Compute, and then Iâd hop back on tumblr and see people raving about the same stuff that just whipped me into a frothing rage and Iâd be like I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE WHAT IS GOING ON ARE WE USING THE SAME WORDS OR DO I NOT KNOW WHAT THE WORDS MEAN CORRECTLY ORâŚ.
Ugh. Yeah. So like I saidâŚ.nooooot a fan. And also, fans of the show plz donât @ me if I got things mixed up there or inaccurately remembered a scene I referenced, Iâm not claiming to have perfect recall of a show that was actively pissing me off while I watched it and thus I was kinda TRYING not to pay full attention to. I just know that I definitely got a full helping of racism, homophobia and anti-survivor bullshit in SOME form or another from each and every episode I did watch. I freely admit that like, Iâm not necessarily describing or denoting the actual things that pissed me off or registered that way to me, like.. for sure accurately hereâŚ.again, I havenât watched the show at all in a couple years and Iâm not trying to be like This Is Definitely What Happened In This Scene and This Scene. Its more just one of those things where like, I definitely remember these are reasons I hated the show and Iâve put a lot of effort into NOT thinking about it or remembering it, so this is just how that jumbled mess all came out right now while trying to sort through it all and remember specific instances of the Triangle of Suck that made me rage so hard. Thereâs a reason Iâve never gone around actively engaging in Magicians Discourse or encouraging people not to watch it, lol, I donât claim to be an expert on it or to have taken extensive notes of my Rage Reasons at the time of watching. Just that likeâŚ.they were definitely there, and this was the general vicinity of the ones I can think of off the top of my head.Â

[Mighty No 9] Pacemaker
Summary: In which Beck and Lei have a day out together, and ask some rather uncomfortable questions.
Rating: K
Word Count: 2,131
I know I've only met you once or twice, But maybe you can help me out. 'Cause I don't really want some good advice, Just some help to shed my doubts.
-Jaws, Magnet (Even Johansen)
. . .
Beck was not ready for this. He thought he was, and he even looked ready for it, but once he stepped up to the Ladan-Blaise front door, he knew that he was so, so not ready for this. With his hand shaking, Beck reached for the doorbell and gave it a ring. The wait for someone to answer the door seemed like years, although it only took a good three minutes. At first, the person who answered the door only opened it at the tiniest bit.
âWho is it?â the voice asked. Beck immediately recognized it as the voice of Leilani Blaise, 19 year old robotic genius and child convict, now currently under the supervision of SANDA Technologies and Doctor Soichiro Sanda himself.
âI-it's me, Beck.â the little robot said. âI'm here to pick up Leilani Blaise.â
Weighing her options a bit, Leilani stepped out into full view, allowing Beck to see what she was wearing in full; she had on a light blue tunic dress paired with dark washed capri pants. Her hair had been pulled back into a loose ponytail, and wore no makeup- the lack of said makeup made her eyes look sunken in and her eyes almost lifeless.
âYou look awful.â Beck told her without even considering his words.
âBeen fighting a cold.â Leilani mused. âI've been enjoying a cocktail of NyQuil and sleeping pills for the past two weeks.â
âO-oh...â Beck stammered. âThat... doesn't seem very⌠healthy.â
Leilani smirked. âIt's not.â she even retorted. With a small chuckle, she started to head back inside the house. âLet me get my shoes. I'm pretty much ready when you are.â
âWhat about Ray?â Beck questioned, trying to still get a peak at the human as she decided on her footwear by the door.
âSleeping.â Leilani insisted as she chose a pair of Grecian-style sandals. âStill trying to work on a new energy source that doesn't reject every xel replacement I give her. It's an uphill battle for both of us.â
Beck gave a small nod despite her not being able to see it. Once her shoes were properly on her feet, Leilani came out side- making sure that she locked the door behind her. Awkwardly, Beck gestured for her to go first for the limo waiting for them and the human didn't act twice on the idea.
âWhere is Sanda taking me today?â Leilani mused as they left the Ladan-Blaise drivelane.
âNo where.â Beck told her, trying to sound bold but only sounding nervous. âI thought it would a be a good idea if we just⌠spent the day together.  I-is that okay?â
Leilani looked at him. âWhere are we going?â she then asked- her tone flat and incredibly unamused. Her expression was the most horrifying part; her eyes should have shot daggers right into Beck's artificial heart and killed him right there.
âA-a cafe.â he quickly told her. âIt's a little far out from here, b-but I think you'd like it.â
To the bot's relief, Leilani looked away from him to look out the window. She said nothing further to him, and at the moment, Beck believed it was a sign of approval. But it also welcomed a bitter silence between the two of them that the bot couldn't handle. He couldn't help but look over at her before turning away again, because staring was rude, and he really didn't want to step on her toes today. And there was still so many questions that were stuck in his mind that he needed to ask. And what better time to start with them than now? R-right
âDo youâŚâ Beck started, faltered, but tried to press on anyway, âDo you think that if we⌠if we had met before⌠Before...â
âBefore Seismic impaled my mother?â Leilani cut in, saying exactly what Beck didn't want to.
Beck looked down at his toes before agreeing. âY-yeah. Do you think we would have been⌠friends?â
Leilani was silent for a long time- making Beck fear that she had shut him out. She hadn't, she was just considering her answer. âI⌠I don't know.â she finally admitted. âI have no idea Beck.â
The silence returned after that. It felt worse than the first time.
âA part of me wants to say,â Leilani continued, as if she were speaking a thought now, âThat as long as Trinity happened, then no. We wouldn't. It just⌠It just wouldn't have been possible.â
Beck gave a small nod. âI understand.â he agreed. This time, Beck turned to look at Leilani and didn't look away. He was lost in the thought of when he first saw her six years ago; Trinity had already rampaged through the country, so he hadn't even gotten the chance to meet Leilani when she was truly happy. The human girl had been smaller then, while he was still the same. Same height, same voice, same ability to assimilate fellow robots...
âI wish I had the ability to grow up.â Beck spoke in thought, not meaning to have said it out loud, âOr at least be a bit taller.â
That was when Leilani snapped her head around to look at Beck as if he were going insane.
âWhat did you just say?â she demanded, despite hearing him well enough. Beck didn't answer- her sudden reaction was surprised him, and he would be lying if he said that Leilani didn't look scary when she was scared.
To break the tension, the driver of the limo spoke to them saying, âWe have arrived at our destination.â
Neither Beck or Leilani wanted to break the looks they were giving each other, but it was the robot who turned to the driver to say, âTh-thank you.â When Beck turned back, Leilani had already left the limousine. Nervous, Beck did the same and was easily relieved when he saw that the human was waiting for him at the cafe's entrance.
âAre you ready?â Beck asked Leilani when he was close enough to her.
âI assume you're buying?â the human then asked, looking down at him. âOr say you're buying but it's really coming from your creator's bank account?â
Beck threw a hand behind his head as he nervously chuckled. Knowing the truth, Leilani raised an eyebrow at Beck for a moment before giving an amused smirk.
. . .
At this hour, the cafe was all but empty; which was exactly what Beck had hoped for. He was able to find him and Leilani a spot that was still pretty out of the way- just in case someone really loud decided to come in.
âI'll get our food.â Beck offered once he made sure Leilani was comfortable. âWhat do you want?â
âHot chocolate- extra cream with half a scoop of mini marshmallows.â
âAnything to eat?â
âDo they have any powdered coffee cakes here?â
Beck nodded.
âThen maybe two of those- it depends on how wide they made them.â
âGot it.â Beck agreed. âI'll be right back.â
It did not take long for Beck to get what Leilani requested and head back to their table. The human did not object to the homemade food, immediately digging in as if she hadn't had anything to eat in weeks. Beck patiently waited for the human to finish before he finally asked the question he had been dying to ask for the past year;
âWhy did you take on a pseudonym before Doctor White and Doctor Sanda found you in Maine?â
For a horrifying moment, Leilani sat so still that Beck would have assumed he had taken Cryosphere's unnerving Cabbage Patch doll out for brunch instead of a human.
âIs that why you brought me here?â she then asked in a still, dark voice. âTo know why I didn't want to be found after being falsely accused at such a tender age?â
âN-no!â Beck desperately tried to disagree. âI⌠I just want to know. W-when you were in hiding because Ray had abducted you-â
âNot the word I would have used,â Leilani lightly snickered, âBut yeah?â
âWhen Ray hid you, you used the name Leila Ladan to keep everyone away from you for awhile. Why that name?â
Leilani absently circled her finger around the rim of her cup. She looked Beck in the eye when she told him in an emotionless tone, âLadan was my mother's maiden name.â
For some reason, that wasn't the explanation Beck had been expected; no, no. This one was worse. Â He could feel himself shrink as he let out a small, âOh...â
âAnd Leila,â Leilani went on, âIt's only two letters off from my real name. It's a kinda bad pseudonym in retrospect- but it worked.â
âIt was a nice name...â Beck tried to offer.
âSame I'll have no reason to ever need it again.â Leilani agreed with a humored snort.
âCan⌠can I call you Leila?â the little bot found himself asking. âA-as a nickname of course!â
Leilani cocked an interested eyebrow. âYou're a really weird robot, you know that? First you say you want to grow up, and now you want to give me a pet name? If I didn't know any better, I'd almost think you had a crush on me.â
There was a solid three seconds from the time the idea was said out loud to when the truth hit her. Color drained from Leilani's face before she marveled, âMy god. You do have a crush on me, don't you?â
âMaybe it's guilt...â Beck mumbled, mostly to himself.
âYou really don't know?â
Mighty Number Nine refused to look at the heiress of Blaise Factories and Company. Leilani ran a shaking hand through her hair, refusing to look away from the android sitting across from her. It made so much sense- and yet, it made things so, so much worse.
âEvery day, I wonder what goes through your creator's head when he designs your AI.â she soon admitted. âAnd every day I just grow more horrified of what he could do if he actually thought his plans through. I love Raychel -we'd give our lives for each other- but I'm worried. She can lie to herself and I hate knowing that if something went wrong, that she'd⌠make herself...â
âI don't know if I've ever lied before.â Beck said, purposely not letting Leilani complete her thought. This did not help Leilani's perception of the situation at the moment.
âBeck, I don't think you understand; the Mighty Numbers are the most dangerous robots in the Battle Colosseum. The only way you guys lose is if you purposely throw the fight.â
Beck must have given her a funny look, because she continued.
âI've seen Pyrogen throw a fight before. Cryosphere, Dynatron, and Brandish are known to do it too.â She gave a small pause before looking Beck right in the eye. âYou have too. That last match you had that Sanda made me oversee- you threw the match because you saw me in the audience. Didn't you?â
âI...â Beck faltered, but could find that he had no answer. âI did.â
Leilani stood a bit straighter before leaning closer to Beck, as if this next part of their conversation was top secret information. âYou know what the most disturbing this is about you Mighty Numbers?â
âWhat?â
âIf Raychel is attracted to me, and you apparently are too, does that mean the others are as well? And if that's the case, what does that mean of William Blackwell when Cryosphere was activated the same year I was born?â Leilani gave a rather unnerved sigh. âI think I'm just being paranoid. Or full of myself. Maybe both. But you Mighty Numbers⌠You're something else. You're your own identity. The Mighty Numbers as a whole, you guys⌠You're all so terrifying.â
Beck hung his head in shame, almost acknowledging that he knew how dangerous the Mighty Numbers could be had it not be for several laws and a decent morality system. With her pressing issues out in the open, Leilani relaxed a little before looking down at her empty cup.
âYou know how only my dad can call me Leilai?â
âYeah.â
âWell, there's only one person in this world that is allowed to call me Leila.â
âW-who's that?â
Leilani looked at Beck- it was an expression that was trying to be hard, but it was gentle instead. That was when the realization hit the bot.
âY-you mean it? I can?!â
âJust promise me one thing.â the young woman then told him. âNever lie to me, Raychel, and -most importantly- yourself. On anything. Got it?â
âO-of course!â Beck eagerly agreed. âAnything you say!â

Pokemon Sun post game thoughts
So just after completing the pokemon league I put out my thoughts on the main game and I had meant to do this a day or two later and just didnât get around to it so here it is. Do note though that I have not finished the game 100%.
Legendaries/Tapus/Ultra beasts:
- So I used my masterball on Tapu Koko purely because I finished the pokemon league at like 2 in the morning, didnât feel like battling anymore and didnât realise you could catch it later on. The others werenât too bad to catch though. I think the most time consuming for me was Tapu Lele who I ended up catching in a timer ball after like 30 ultra balls. In saying that though, I wasnât using false swipe or statuses during any of it so probably could have been a lot quicker.
- The ultra beast mission was pretty cool. It was also nice how Anabelle and Looker were brought back from past games. Though itâd be nice to know how Looker got from ORAS to Sun and Moon psychologically. Like did someone come and tell him he was a cop? Or did he remember himself? The connection with Nanu was cool though.
- Having the ultra beast mission end with finding a legendary was also an interesting touch. Like it makes more sense to me that legendaries (maybe not Cosmog due to not knowing any fighting moves) would be mixed in with other pokemon than on their own on a random rock or whatever so I liked that.
- Kinda wish I could sell my 35 remaining beast balls considering I donât have the patience to use them on regular pokemon.
- It also kinda bugs me like with most pokemon games that Sun and Moon had exclusive legendaries, ultra beasts and normal pokemon. Like yes I get it from a marketing perspective but honestly itâs more just annoying than anything.
- Kinda as an addition to the above point, I do think it would have been an awesome touch if Cosmog turned into the alternative legendary (so Lunala for Sun and Solgaleo for Moon) on the condition that you trained it in the alternative world in which you got it.
- Iâm one bloody cell away from getting Zygarde and I canât find it anywhere despite looking day and night for it so Iâm going to have to check out serebii or a video to see where it is. I just wish that it could tell me which island it is on (I think it may be Akala but not 100% sure) so I could cut it down.
Completing the pokedex:
- So as of now, Iâm at about 80% of the pokedex being filled. Most of what I have left is trade evolutions + Moon exclusives which will happen when my brother is ready, rare fishes and SOS pokemon.
- Iâm disappointed that thereâs no national dex tbh.
- For some reason it took me forever to get an Iggybuff. Like I know it was a 10% chance in either area itâs found but I was getting so many Eevees which are 5% chances in those areas. Finally got the Iggybuff today though.
- Iâve been so lucky with wondertrade. Like I donât know/care if theyâre hacked or legit pokemon all I care is itâs filled my dex right up. I was kinda reluctant to do it because I never had before and so many people told me that all you get is Yungoose and Ledyba but I think all up Iâve only gotten one Ledyba and maybe like 4 Yungoose which considering I would have done at least 50 trades all up is pretty good in my eyes.
- I feel like PokePelego has been heaps of fun and it has got me some pokemon to fill the dex but mostly itâs the same pokemon over and over (Skamory tbh) which is why I decided to wondertrade.
- I really really hate the SOS system tbh, Like I just do not have the patience for that. Honestly I think Iâve done it once and Iâm already done with it. Hopefully in future games they bring back pokenav or some other system that is better than this.
- Likewise itâs kinda annoying that in order to fish in a bubbly spot, you have to leave the area and come back. Like really itâs just a waste of time in my opinion.
- In my 15ish years of playing this series, I have still yet to see a shiny.
Pokemon league rematch:
- So long story short, my team is far too strong to do anymore of these so Iâm currently training up a new team to make it more of a challenge.
- In saying this, Iâve done it twice and Hau came both times at the end? I was under the impression you went through the list up on the serebii site, but I guess itâs randomised.
- Basically I hope if I do it again itâs not Hau that comes because it kinda gets boring facing the exact same teams and thatâs the reason I often donât do league rematches too often.
Road to Battle Tree:
- So Iâve done none of the battle tree because itâs really not my thing. Though I have done the routes up to it.
- When I got to the tree, I chose to battle Blue purely because out of the two, his was the team I remembered least. I kinda wish I had picked Red though considering his team is stronger which I didnât realise at the time.
- I do like that Mega Evolution was brought into the game, however I do wish it was brought in earlier considering really all you can use it for is the battle tree or competitive battling, neither of which I personally like doing all that much. I know what youâre gonna say âBut they wanted the focus to be on Z movesâ and I get that, I really do, but there was ways to introduce Mega Evolution into the game earlier and still kept Z crystals as the main feature. Like idk personally I probably would have changed the timing of the events and had everything from the whole Nebby and Lillie getting kidnapped onward plot as post game. Like Iâve always found it implied that Lusamine and her family came from a different region so she could have had one mega pokemon in the battle in the foundation and the stone and/or bracelet could have dropped when she went into the wormhole. That way Z moves still could have well and truly been the focus of the main game while still allowing Mega Evolution to be used in game. It also kinda makes more sense that the champion is dealing with team skull and Lusamine rather than 3 random 11(? Is Gladion also 11?) year olds with no adult help. Like I get that you go because youâre Lillieâs friends and brother but still.
Other random notes:
- So I meant to say on my in game post that I feel like the AIs are better in this game, especially the ones you battle with rather than against. Like in past games it felt like they didnât know type advantages and whatever but this game Hau especially put in the work and somewhat added a little extra challenge. I donât know, maybe I just got lucky in past games but yeah.
- The shiny Exeggcute owner was a great touch.
- I really liked the Eevee quest too. I mean yeah it was kinda sad but still nice.
- Not that Iâll probably ever wear it but being able to buy the team skull grunt top was cool.
- In saying that, clothing cost far too much. Like when a character can give you a million bucks and it still doesnât buy anywhere near a lot of the clothes, thatâs a sign. I mean Iâm out of money and doing the Pyukumuku mini quest each day basically just to buy one thing at a time (yes I know I can do the league again for money) and I havenât even touched that expensive shop yet.
- Itâs nice that theyâve added some of the characters in the post game but like I still donât understand the point of Kahili. Like I wish we knew more about why sheâs so great that Kukui asked her to do the league. Like it just seems random that they were all captains/kahunas except her and that she played no other role in this game bar that and giving you a TM. I mean I can understand if Hapu didnât want to do the league due to just becoming kahuna but still would have made more sense for Mina to be the next option rather than some random who they never really elaborate on.
