@the-locel-guy2 is the only right one /hj (hope u don’t mind the @)
I wanna answer too though.
Even tho I’m not a kai stan and I personally dislike a lot of kai takes that make him out to be so much more mistreated than everyone else (no offence everyone is allowed to enjoy their own interpretation), I do love a good villain arc.
I mean we can look at Kai’s flaws, I mean s4-5 could’ve done more with staff!Kai being a possible Morro foreshadowing clearly showing us a destructive path Kai could’ve gone down had he never achieved his true potential. If Kai kept thinking he had to be THE hero and THE one to have saved the world, he could’ve potentially separated from the group (that loner trait that we see in the pilots and in those s1 episodes where he skips training or leaves lloyd at the arcade because he’s too pre occupied with his own thing, enhanced) even in s1.
He may even go in the complete opposite direction to his canon development and view lloyd as an extension of his father’s evil, and then later as a source of jealousy of his green ninja status and maybe also jealousy due to Lloyd’s (albeit complicated) bond with his dad, something kai didn’t even have.
Like Morro, a s1 villain kai, would be a super try hard, possibly leaving to try and find difficult quests to prove his worth, or picking as many fights as possible to prove his capability. Maybe this “I hate the hero because I wanna be the hero” thing only leads to him being more of an anti hero, aiming to protect the world but spite the other heroes. However unstable minds are great for evil manipulation and s2’s overlord is the king of manipulation so if you really wanted Kai full on evil, maybe Garmadon isn’t the one to get possessed that season.
Damn someone remind me to make overlordpossession!Kai content later.
Kai stans please answer this; how would evil Kai work? I am... so confused. There's nothing for him to get evil over I don't think. Maybe Nya stuff but why would he turn evil to save his sister? I'm genuinely so confused. /genq
#post full potential I don’t have any specific insights#although I think after s1 Kai is a pretty moral character#i mean post s7 his daddy issues have been resolved - the green prophecy is no longer relevant#i also just don’t think he’d go evil after things like Seabound bc like#i don’t think kai in good faith to his sister would bring himself to properly hurt her fiancé yknow#Kai has dealt with grief and he’s a lot more experience than jay and probably has healthier outlets because of it and I think he’s got that#older brother understanding#but yeah kai would run an evil hair spray business which turned peoples hair into rocks and that’s how he takes over Ninjago lol#ninjago#ninjago kai#Lego Ninjago#reblog#Ninjago analysis#Ninjago au
