I have been tagged by @truthhux to share my fave first watches of May! and what an excellent time to catch me, because I’ve just had two 12+ hour flights and I spent them watching:

the colour purple: one of my favourite musicals, slightly disappointing adaptation

suzume: wonderful 2022 film from makoto shinkai!

the boys in the boat: I cannot tell you how much I did not care about these boys in these boats, however my friend is in the final 20 minutes of it so……..I just watched that

mean girls: fantastic. excellent adaptation (if you ignore that the songs aren’t actually very good), loved every second, jon hamm was a surprise!

the miracle club: wonderful!!! fantastic!!! no notes!!! 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

all of us strangers: i went in without any knowledge of the plot except “andrew scott gay”, highly recommend

a strange way of life: i really just watched non stop gay sex for about two and a half hours on this plane. pedro pascal and ethan hawke revisiting an old romance in this wild western short film!

the great escaper: fan 👏🏽 tas 👏🏽 tic 👏🏽, and I’m not just saying that because Michael Caine was using my exact rollz rollator throughout! very strong film about a 90 year old veteran sneaking out of his nursing home to go to calais for the 75 year d-day anniversary. glenda jackson is supreme. wonderful.
