HELLO TY FOR THIS ASK

i have so fucking many aus so i'll ramble about a few

my latest one takes inspiration from this post and it's basically, dazai takes in atsushi and the akutagawa siblings, but realizing he can't really find a job to support all of them at once, he decides to go and (try to) reopen odasaku's favorite curry place. there are a few issues.

he is Not a great cook

atsushi can only make chazuke

aku and gin don't know how to cook

the place is kind of a mess

so eventually he goes and calls up chuuya and he's like "hey, you know how to cook, can you help me" problem is, chuuya's pissed at him bc THIS is when he calls him again and it's not an explanation of why he left, not a "sorry for blowing up ur car", not any of that, it's just another favor. so his immediate response is "fuck you, no" and dazai has to nag him into coming and helping, this being via taking some random pm member for hostage and specifically requesting that chuuya come pick him up

chuuya does indeed arrive, but he also breaks dazai's nose, so dazai ends up vaguely explaining with an ice pack on his face lmfao. this bit is what i have planned most vividly and is hopefully? gonna be a fic i publish. but also, later, ranpo ends up at the curry place and is like "damn you live like this" and dazai replies just kinda, "either order or get out" but ranpo offers him a better job (that being working at the ada), and while he hesitantly agrees, it's only a part time thing for the first bit. also although i haven't decided yet i think he might also end up finding kyouka before the pm gets to her and tachihara before the hunting dogs find him bc i am weak to 1. found family 2. BIG found families.

chuuya is absolutely fucking baffled when he runs into dazai during an ada job, btw.

"i thought you ran a fucking curry shop" "i do that too" "?? what the fuck" "it's called being a PART TIMER chibi" "i'm gonna break your nose again"

anyway next au!!

cowboy au (btw, they still have abilities) where nathaniel is a travellng priest looking for a doctor to cure margaret who's deathly sick, and he hasn't really been having any luck (he's been searching for months to no avail), and eventually at this one town it's like.. it's late at night, nathaniel's thirsty, he heads to the bar to get some water. nikolai promptly swaps their drinks, nathaniel drinks something really strong and passes the fuck out, wakes up to being in an inn room (with noteably less money) and storms the hell out of the building just to find nikolai petting his horse and acting all innocent about doing anything. nathaniel just tries to leave, nikolai follows, and they travel like that for a bit (occasionally trying to kill each other) before they get the third member of their dysfunctional little party

do you remember that one kid fyodor killed?

this little guy (karma), is a pickpocket who steals nathaniel's bible in the hopes of selling it to get food. the two find him, both kinda realize his situation and while nathaniel is about to point him in the direction of the town's local church nikolai goes "fuck that" and just straight up kidnaps him, and they keep traveling. nathaniel and nikolai are mutually, regrettably, falling for one another, but this just manifests as more murder attempts, to the point that one night, nathaniel tries to strangle nikolai, nikolai wakes up and strangles him back, and when nathaniel passes out he fucking dreams about nikolai and is HORRIFIED. things only get worse and gayer from there and i also think they go on a train at some point.

karma's enjoying the horse rides at least, and there's some other characters that show up though tbh idk who besides this one dazai scene and gin at one point

okay this other au is shorter, but basically: ada kajii. this is built off of SO many headcanons, but essentially kajii's backstory is just the lemon short story. except that kajii never found lemons, bc instead kunikida (his old friend/school friend that fell out of contact with him) reaches out, they become friends again, and so when kunikida joins the ada, so does kajii. kajii works as a clerk bc, like, he doesn't. know he has an ability. Oh Boy Does He Get A Surprise during dead apple

okay i was gonna talk about my eternal winter au but that would be an essay /lh

SO instead!! shiburan au, an au i never. properly named beyond that it's a shibusawa x ranpo focused au. also co owned with my bestie @feralshadowdemon <33

basically, yokohama is a smaller, calmer seaside town, no abilities or anything. shibusawa moves in, working at the pet shop across the street from this coffee shop that's connected to a bookstore. the coffee shop is run by (most of) the ada, and the bookstore is run by yokomizo; mushitaro and poe work there. the members of the ada who work at the coffee shop are fukuzawa (he owns it), ranpo, kunikida, and yosano. dazai is fukuzawa's newest adopted kid, and ran away from home. (he was living with mori (and elise) before) yosano Understands his situation, having done the same years before.

ranpo starts going over to the pet shop a lot, both bc he's running errands (fukuzawa owns three cats) and bc he likes talking to shibusawa. they eventually exchange phone numbers and start texting. in the background of this, btw, is soukoku: they had a messy breakup years ago, they act like they don't like each other, etc etc normal skk things. the flags are a biker gang who are alive and well here, and chuuya hangs out with them a lot. dazai is a bit jealous of them, ranpo knows this, and so when chuuya starts volunteering at the pet shop, ranpo brings dazai along on an errand run so the two run into each other again. they start talking again, slowly bonding again by virtue of wingmaning shiburan

fukuchi is the hunting dogs' dad; except for tetchou, who's jouno's boyfriend. he has stricter parents.

shibusawa has a pet cornsnake named draconia

odango is engaged here but oda travels a lot so they haven't got married yet

ango works in an office in the big city, but he visits dazai sometimes. they are friends

kyouka and kenji also live with fukuzawa!! twincoded tbh

kyouka has narcolepsy

I try to!! i fell into a hole for the last six months and haven't been able to write or respond until like.. two weeks ago but. i write because the words demand out but i post fic because i like... talking with people? i like getting to scream with other people about characters and dynamics and angst and fluff that we're BOTH excited about, of course i try to respond to comments.

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

oof. either... No One Will Ever Love You, which is ROMANTICALLY angsty but comes with the buffer of being pre-canon (MM) and canon will fix it, OR it just... wants, which is a drabble on the premise of a major character death, and does not resolve anything.

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

um. this is actually difficult bc. so many of them have. nonsense fluffy endings, often involving falling asleep together. the happiest/??? uhhh.... oh, Each Day You'd Rise With Me. The last line kinda cinches it, i think, though it has some stiff competition.

Do you write crossovers?

I don't think I have, but i'm not against it. I haven't found any ideas for crossovers that have compelled me enough to actually shove me past idly contemplating and into actually writing them, i guess.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Not that I remember. I've gotten comments that have insulted or irritated me, but never in ways that I think were intentional, just careless. I write for mostly one very small fandom so i think that insulates me somewhat.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

HAHHA YEAH APPARENTLY. I don't really know what "what kind" means, but as per usual my brand seems to be intense and feelsy. these motherfuckers have a LOT of thoughts and feelings and words while getting railed....

I personally think your writing is beyond incredible but I am not fully comfortable with some of the contents. Not that I think it’s is unrealistic but I kind of liked the former version a little more where the chaos fics or double the trouble where not as traumatic and her trauma was more thematised in the growing up fics.

I really would like some more pure and happy moments such as the champions league win without a shadow looming bc I really wish for some happy moments but that’s just bc I feel super stressed by everything happening in yourstories cause they’re written so good.

And really don’t want to be harsh though I believe in Monkeys stage in terms of behaving and having accidents frequently makes her being a professional athlete is kind of unrealistic.

I think her regressing is probably normal with her kind of trauma but the frequency is kind of a lot and maybe just a little extreme, which for me makes reading your story a little uncomfortable an maybe not quite as enjoyable, though that’s a very personal view.

I absolutely loved the moment in your last fic where Leah just hold Monkey. That level of fluff was so deserved for them.

I don’t know how I feel about the pregnancy. I think it’s a great story arc. On the other hand I just feel sorry for them all and would wish that there is no more trauma added on Monkey.

Something which is not important at all but I have thought about is that Leah uses the name Logan quite a lot. I liked it more when she only called her Monkey or my girl because it would be a huge difference to her dad and her normal name probably reminds her of him which is something Leah wouldn’t ever want to do. Though that’s just my opinion and not significant.

All in all I really enjoy your stories and will continue reading them no matter in what direction you take them. The most important part ist that you feel comfortable with the stuff you’re writing and have fun doing it.

PS: I am a real sucker for the growing up fics and dying bc of the cliffhanger in the last one. The point that I really think about it daily just tells u how much I like this story.

Also I kind of need a time line of everything happening cause I am a little lost with how many fics there are.

In addition I also believe that you could publish this works as a book and it would be some real piece of literature.

i can understand what i am writing isn't for everryone and that's okay, i am trying to keep both versions in, but i want it to be more realistic with everything that monkey is going through... but there will be chaos soon enough (especially with the next fic i am planning to write)

there is more happy moments to come, and i will be working on them... the wip list is a bit long but they will come eventually (if you decide to stop reading my fics then that's completely okay) but i am trying to explore more chaos monkey again, because that is my favourite one

that's okay to think that, and in reality, it would be seen like that, but this is fiction, and 9/10 monkey is always injured and doesn't play, or she's on the bench, but i completely get where you are coming from though

i'm trying to tone it all down and focus on monkey that i first started to write about, because as i said, that version of her is my favourite, but of course i don't want to forget about her trauma and there will be setbacks and triggers, but i'll try and keep it back to usual (if that makes any sense)

leah and monkey fluff moments are my favourite to write, and ofc with jordan as well, that girl deserves happiness (unfortunately for me i do love writing angst sometimes a bit more)

the pregnancy is a tough one, and in a way i kind of do regret writing it in, but monkey will eventually bond with rugrat, and she'll have happiness... but there's a bit more planned for monkey to go through first before she gets to that

yeah i realised with the name situation i have tended to write that a bit more often, and i'm trying to stick to monkey, and only use logan in a serious situation, kinda. i was trying to explore with different nicknames, because i feel like just them two can be quite repititve, but again, i do understand what you mean there, and i would say monkey would be triggered by her name, but mark never actually called her name and would use other horrible names instead, so although monkey hates her name, there's no actual trauma behind it (if that makes any sense at all)

i'm glad that you like reading them, and i promise there is more happiness to come, monkey just has a bit trauma to go through first... i'm sorry, but it'll all make sense when it comes around! i'm torn if i actually do like my writing now, which is why i took the break to kind of take that step back and think about things, but now i'm back (i hope)

the growing up one is in the process of being written, i'm just a bit stuck at a certain point, but it's getting there... slowly

so there's a timeline somewhere which i'll edit in at some point but i get that it can be a little confusing, though

Pacing, dialogue, emotional moments (especially angry/sorrowful ones, I feel). Pacing is the one that surprises me the most because I do NOT make physical outlines I just line up major events in my head and figure out the in-betweens as I go, but so many of my readers (especially my yitw readers) are like "omg im so jealous of your pacing" and my only advice for that is go ham on the first draft and figure out the rest later asdjhsfdjh

honestlyyyy i know i usually say fight scenes (which is true) but I can at least GET through fight scenes so im gonna have to say smut?? for my yitw readers I'll level with you I have trying for nearly half a year now to write a oneshot that's a continuation of that last scene in Nobody's Daughter and it is just. not happening but someday I hope I can get it to you

rn i'm like exclusively writing for spn bc the brainrot has consumed me, but i still have a few lisa fic ideas rolling around i might finish someday. i also write warriors fic on occasion. i might write weird lesbian clone fucking for westworld, idk.

mostly! not always, its usually an energy thing. but i deeply appreciate all of them!!!!!!!!!

prrrrobably the weight of us which is just me writing about how brad should not have been someone's father

so as a monolingual person i am not the person to ask, but, from my experience talking to people who speak multiple languages, it's not necessarily uncommon to like, switch languages if you're thinking of a thought that you mostly hear in one language and not the other? idk. it's not something i write, and if i do, i'll probably ask my multilingual pals how they think it's best to go about it

2. Tell me about your first kiss.

i actually haven't had a first kiss yet - i've never really dated unless you count this really awkward boyfriend situation in high school lol

11. What was your childhood dream job?

i really wanted to be a writer as a kid (shocker i know haha) and i also wanted to be a scientist/research pretty early on. i think it was around middle school (maybe earlier?) when i specified wanting to be a psychologist, but i also thought it would be fun to work in publishing as an editor, study biology, and be a writer. i ultimately went the psych route, but i would still love to publish a book someday!

27. 3 things you love about yourself.

ok let's see:

i love that i'm a pretty adventurous eater. there aren't many foods i don't like, and even if i don't like something, i'll keep trying it bc tastebuds change and you never know! i think it's allowed me to enjoy a wider variety of foods and not being picky makes it easier to eat with others. i also find that other's disgust at some of the foods i like to eat only makes me enjoy them more (pickled beets you will always be famous to me)

i love that i love learning. this has obviously served me well in terms of my formal education, but even outside of the classroom i think it has made my life richer because it's led me to pursue a lot of interests/skills

i love how invested (obsessive) i get when i really like something. like i don't think i'll ever understand how someone can "love" a book/movie/what have you and then never (1) twist the concepts/characters around in their mind like a rubik's cube or (2) develop a deep opinion about it other than saying it's "good" or "entertaining." i feel like the analysis i'm prone to doing leads to a deeper appreciation and extends the enjoyment

had my original fiction opening critiqued at irl group tonight! under a cut because this is long and it'll be painfully boring for people who have not been following my Anxiety Saga (and who do not care about the OCs), but tl;dr: very positive :3 we went a half hour over our usual time just discussing the story.

the prose, imagery, and exposition were all highly praised, ppl said the style is easy to read & a few even said it scans as fully publishable right now

didn't have a chance to get into the whole magic-as-autoimmunity meta or a Million Other Things because this story is a BEHEMOTH. but if i write more then i can get into it at other sessions :3

UNANIMOUS praise for the depiction of magic as painful/costly, one guy says he usually hates fantasy magic bc the stakes feel too low. but these didn't

characters were much more polarizing. everyone had a slightly different interpretation of and different emotions about the various narrators

also nearly every time someone said "this character thing didn't work for me" or "i hated this character detail," someone else would pipe up like "actually that was great for me personally. you should keep it" which made me laugh. THRILLED to accomplish this

pretty strong majority opinion that sol is an insane sociopath, i got some 'i'd like to see more depth in her' feedback until one woman said "my problem with her is that she's supposed to be super powerful but then her narration is exactly as neurotic and hypervigilant as your reader proxy's" while i was Vibrating With Excitement like YOU HAVE IDENTIFIED THE THING I DID ON PURPOSE YOU DID IT YOU GOT THE UNRELIABLE NARRATION IM YELLINGGGG

pretty unanimous empathy with and concern for the reader proxy narrator who's in a Very Bad Situation. some devastation upon finding out i don't plan for her to narrate the entire novel. about half the group was like "but... but everyone else is. everyone else is an evil sociopath :( i like the girl :(" sorry guy.s. i promise i'll make you want to read about them before i rip ur girl away

i cut some explicit/graphic threats of sexual and physical violence because i thought they went too far, despite this being psychological horror. three ppl gave me the feedback "i need to see some kind of explicit threat to really know the stakes here" i'm never questioning my dark edgy shit again. every character is fucked forever. amen

ONE READER DID CLOCK DEVIN AS TRANS and it was the Same One who clocked sol perfectly. she was like the mention of scruff jarred me so much that i googled the dictionary definition of scruff. what's the deal there & i was like oh. transgenda. & she was like I THOUGHT IT WAS SOMETHING LIKE THAT

everyone else: wow i did not notice that at all. and/or i assumed the scruff was leaves or twigs not stubble

OH AND!! i got a note that my character dialogue is all extremely distinctive. which was Such A Relief because i Know my fanfic dialogue is distinctive but i wasn't sure if i was replicating that with the OCs. it's hard to figure out how people talk & make it different from how other people talk when you yourself are only one person with one speech pattern.

I have dmed you in person before but I feel like I'm gonna go on a rant here again and tell you that I absolutely adore, admire, worship, breathe, live, laugh, love your works. I don't think in my entire time being in this fandom I've ever had a writer that characterized wilmon in the exact way that I love. the way you write their dynamics, the way you see them, the way you portray their love and their insecurities and their flaws and their emotions.... I could die. I went on a whole spree and read every single one of your works months ago. when it ended and I saw that there's no other work I got so sad. this is absolutely no attempt of mine to make you write more and more or update frequently btw. you do this for free (which is just insane bc I would genuinely pay you) and you have a life so I absolutely do not expect you to devote yourself to this just bc some random tumblr anons appreciate your work; however I do want you to know this: I think your works are one of the only reasons I still stay in this fandom. checking your acc on twt or on here to see if there's any new update or if even you've tweeted/posted sth new about wilmon or if you have a new fic coming up is one of the only things that attaches me to this fandom still. I think I'll leave if you ever decide not to write anything wilmon related anymore. it's such a joy that you exist. I know people can have dark days and esp since I think you live in the us and things have been looking kinda heartbreaking and doomed, I just want you to know it's an absolute joy of mine to just know that you exist. I don't even know what you look like. yes! almost always. for different reasons. as a reader, I always enjoy getting replies to comments I've left. it also motivates me to leave more comments, esp on that author's fics. that's just how I work. and since I like and want that, I assume it's the same for other ppl so I do that to them. it's also bc getting comments sometimes makes my entire day, and it makes me so happy, and I want to let them know that

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

i'm not sure i've written anything with an angsty ending? oh wait, two of my older mini fics do. the loss of a friend and what are we now? both have pretty angsty endings, or at least not happy ones. so i'll go with them.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

the rest of them? no, but I prefer happy endings so I think almost all of the rest have. all of my top five kudos ones that I mentioned above are the first ones I'd pick, so take your pick among those. but if I were to pick another one... most of the rest are kinda happy throughout the entire fic and then the ending doesn't feel as happy. so to pick one that's not happy throughout, but has a happy ending, I'll go with maybe we're good, maybe we're not.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

no, i don't. i've gotten some rude comments, but that's as far as it's gotten luckily

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

yes, i've written a little. it's still a bit out of my comfort zone though, esp posting it, but i've written some m/m smut of different variants.

10. Do you write crossovers? What the craziest one you've written?

no. or well, technically yes, but it's an abandoned wip that i don't like so that's all you're gonna get about it

oh multiple! I have one that I do doubt I'll ever finish but I still hope I will so so much, so I'm not gonna give up on that one just yet. instead, I have one that's even less likely I'll finish. it's a fantasy one, enemies to lovers (I should've known it was doomed already then, that's not my thing), magic that was based around elements. it's main feature is that it has a "who did this to you?" between two ppl who don't like each other, which is something I love. maybe I'll end up publishing only that scene, it can be read as a stand-alone so it's not that bad of an idea actually

dialogue, I think. specifically banter, I think I'm pretty good at that. I always manage to write it in at least and have a lot of fun writing it!

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I feel like I write pretty short sentences, making paragraphs sound a bit choppy. I'm also an expert in writing english sentences with swedish grammar, so I feel for my beta that has to correct that shit. esp when the sentence doesn't even make sense in English and it's a guessing game😂

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

if it's important to the plot, then yeah, that could be nice. but it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine when i read dialgoue in swedish and it's obvious that the author has used google translate, it bothers me. i'd rather read it in english with an accompanying "says in swedish" rather than the inaccurate translation. but that's probably bc it's my native language. when it's in languages i don't understand i don't have that issue obviously.

harry potter probably? at least that I posted for, might've written something that I didn't realise was technically for fandom when I was younger

20. Favorite fic you've written?

oh, hm... right now it's probably a tie between does it always end in heartbreak? and maybe we're good, maybe we're not. but that's probably bc those are the latest ones I published. one favorite I always mention is one of the drabbles in the drabble collection snapshots of moments, the one in chapter 11, pretty when you beg

What fandoms/pairings did you get into before Jonsa? Or the first work/story that made you discover fanfic?

Just randomly sharing, broke my phone other day and looking for my downloaded fanfics made me look even further back.

😭 Final Fantasy VIII rpg game was 25 years ago and beloved fanfics of it published 20 years ago (still there in internet).

Also realized my love for broody, sulky male protagonists with angry chip in their shoulders and female characters that receive hate just bc they’re “princess”-y, “damsel-in-distress” not-the-strongest type was there too. (Prob started it.)

It's been so long, I can't remember how I found fanfic. Probably in my Sailor Moon phase (elementary school-ish) because I absolutely wrote Sailor Moon fanfic. (I never posted it online or showed anyone, though. I can distinctly remember writing a Sailor Pluto fic where she's still alive after all the other sailors are killed, and she just stands there as the keeper of time waiting sad and alone for millennia for them to be reincarnated. Really fun and chill story, 12 year old me!) I can't remember any fics specifically that I read, though there was this website that used to MST3K "bad" Sailor Moon fanfics, and I remember reading a lot of those. I didn't ship anyone in Sailor Moon.

Considering how much media I have consumed over the years, I don't tend to ship very hard. I tend to go with what the piece of media tells me the ships are tbh. Jonsa is the first that wasn't canon.

InuYasha

The first fandom I had a ship for, and the first fandom I actively remember reading fic for. I was big into Miroku/Sango. Never wrote anything for that, though.

Harry Potter

I did vaguely ship Harry/Ginny while the books were coming out, and even wrote a few chapters of an alternate book 2. That was on ff.net and is probably purged at this point. I could not tell you what my username or the fic title were lol.

Later, I dipped my toe into the Marauders/Jily fandom, but never went all out, because by that time, I'd become disillusioned with Harry Potter. Every once in a while, I'll go read a Jily fic.

Buffy

While this is my favorite show, I didn't ship too much. I kinda shipped Buffy/Spike (have thoughts on it now) and also Angel/Cordelia. I never read nor wrote fic for either of these pairings.

Veronica Mars

Veronica/Logan. Read some fic, never wrote anything.

Skins

I wrote a one shot for Sid/Cassie. Posted on my old livejournal and now re-posted to an alternate ao3 account. I don't hate it. I'd probably change some things if I were writing it now, but I think it's pretty solid.

Glee

I am SO embarrassed to say this, but I wrote a Rachel/Puck one-shot after the episode where they decide to date because they're both hot and Jewish. It wasn't a super shippy fic and mostly centered around him telling Rachel Quinn's baby was his. I stopped watching Glee after the first season lol and did not repost that fic from my livejournal to ao3. It can die on livejournal.

Elite

Carla/Samuel!! LOVE me some poor boy/rich girl dynamics. I got really into them and even read some fic, though there wasn't much out there. Never wrote anything. Have debated writing a Jonsa Elite AU

The Other Fandom

Now. I have hinted in the past that I used to be in another fandom that I wrote fic for.

Oh, the OC. You held my heart for so many years (well. 2 years). I wrote so much fic for you (mostly in the first year, kinda fell off and did more experimental stuff in the second).

That fandom was the O.C.

I'm kind of afraid to say the pairing, because there's only 1215 OC fics total on ao3, and for my pairing is not one of the popular ones, and I wrote about a quarter of those, so I feel like you could find my alt account pretty easily...

I dunno. I'm a little embarrassed about some of the fic I wrote back then. Some of it is SO unnecessarily dramatic (AND IN FIRST PERSON. I HATE FIRST PERSON POV!!). I also wrote a wild amount of smut for someone who didn't really know what the fuck she was talking about lmaooo. I've spoken a lot about how skittish I am about writing smut now, but as a teenager I was cranking that shit out. (ok I actually just looked and it's only 5 explicit fics, but still. That's about 1/5 of the fics I wrote)

I'm probably making too much out of it, because there are some fics I'm proud of, but enough that I'm embarrassed by that I have yet to be able to publicly say what my apt account is

18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?

The thing is, if it's in a different script to the language you're writing in (for example, English and Japanese), there's not a way for the reader to read it, yk? And idk if there's a way to organically integrate a translation. Even if your reader isn't supposed to know what they're saying, what's the point in including the dialogue in the first place? You can just say they said something in Japanese. Unless it's assumed your reader knows the other language, then it adds some dramatic irony. Ofc, there's gonna be ways you can fit it in well since each situation is different, but I wouldn't add it explicitly in quotations, per se. This is coming from a semi-bilingual language nerd semi-studying to be an editor (aka, don't take it to heart bc I'm not a professional)

I've seen far too many posts recently (last ~6 months), largely from teens/zoomers, where it's clear they've been given some wild misinformation about how HRT actually works and what it's able to do and not able to do and how to safely do it, and what going off of HRT is like.

I know I'm not a Popular Blogger, I'm not on tiktok, etc, but I do feel that if I can at least give better information to one person then it'll have been worth it. i might write like a zine about HRT and publish it free online, and maybe try and reach out to some people who I know use other social media and see if they wanna share about it.

I'd also want to have testimony from people who have taken HRT of any kind (even/especially if you're cisgender, intersex, or have detransitioned) about their experience so if I can reach out to you you can shoot me an ask.

I'd also want to run everything by someone with experience in endocrinology so if that's also applicable to you lmk, otherwise I'll poke around online when the time comes (I don't see an Endo for my HRT so I can't ask them)

this is probably going to be a bit of a Project as I'll really want to make sure my information is as accurate as possible but

this thought was all started by hearing a gender fluid person confidently state they just want to take testosterone maybe one week a month bc they only feel masc sometimes and I'm like. brother your hormones will not like that one bit.

like there's options for people who don't want to fully transition hormonally, you can go on then stop for a long time then go back on, you can do low-dose, you can go whole hog but just get laser hair removal, you can get surgery. it's important to know what HRT does and what you actually want out of it.

I'm firmly nonbinary as a more or less political stance, but I am transgender and have nearly fully medically transitioned. I knew what I wanted out of HRT and surgery and I got it.

this is getting long but I'm like. afraid for baby trans people who think your hormones system is something you can toggle in a character creator screen

Probably the blorbo du jour with a strong narrative voice and selective perception is suffering due to something that's probably their fault, but someone manages to empathise with him and that doesn't solve the problems it still means something that they don't see blorbo as scum. Either that or a discord shitpost discussion about sex that got way out of hand and now "glove fingering uti" has sprouted feelings

Lexicographers were all liars. They put words into the dictionary for things that did not exist, such as “joy” and “calm” and “sleep”. Most emotions were invented, presumably for some malign plot specifically targeting Gríma and obviously connected to stealing his job. What else could they steal from Gríma, after all? He had nothing, not even dignity. Not since Saruman had taken over the department. He’d been so friendly to Gríma before Théoden’s illness and retirement. He’d commiserated about Gríma needing to take over some of the Department Head duties on top of his actual job, just because Théoden was less and less capable.

I just think I really nailed the vibe of a guy who's annoying and self-centred but also genuinely honestly miserable. (this is the catfishing AU, which kinda takes place after Saruman successfully and with Gríma's help conquered Rohan/the art department of a university and then that didn't improve Gríma's ennui at all somehow, in fact life is even worse)

I have an insatiable need to tell myself stories when I don't have anything to do & huge trouble falling asleep. I would make up shit about anything but if I do it about blorbos, I also get to talk about them

What do you look for in a beta? I've never *looked for* a beta specifically bc I'm very scared of bothering people, but I've shouted into the void in case anyone was interested in betaing my work and I've been super happy about working with Alyssa, Ro, Rumpel and Daro on various stories. My biggest needs are probably for someone to judge whether it all makes sense, bc to me a lot of mental jumps make sense that may confuse someone not trapped in my brain, leaving my third person present and nonstandard english phrasings intact, bc that's on purpose I'm not trying to win a grammar prize I'm trying to turn thought processes into text, and also just generally being a person I know and trust. Trust to put in the effort to understand and to be interested in where I want to take an idea and not where they would like to take it. And also especially I have to trust that I'm not forcing said beta to read something they hate, that they would tell me they want to stop and not force themselves to keep going, bc I've worked on myself enough to be ok with publishing a flop fic now but I'm very scared of making someone do something they hate

Without a doubt, Supplementations and Upgrades! This is a fic inspired by a Tumblr post wondering what if BioWare *had* gone with the apparent original idea of the geth bringing Shephard back to life for ME2. I wrote the first chapter as a one-off with my Shephard, Rochelle (biotic ping pong ball of death), and then the idea just wouldn't leave me alone! Ended up being over 230k words and honestly it's my biggest project to date and the one I'm most proud of 😁 I constantly re-read it, and have commissioned art for various chapters from @defenestratin! (With plans for more bc I CANNOT get enough of how they draw Rochelle 😍)

10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've written? i don't usually but i have done hockey aus for two separate fandoms (3h & pb) so there's that. i wouldn't consider that too crazy though

11. have you had a fic stolen? / 12. have you had a fic translated? / 13. have you ever co-written a fic? keeping these stuck together with a no for me as well. i did do a back and forth writing thing with a former friend but that was for a personal project

14. what's your all-time favorite ship? i am not really a big shipper! i went through my charmed tag the other day so i guess i can say piper/leo bc i was very into them when i was watching. if we can extend ship to being not necessarily romantic then we all know that The Horny Lads have rewritten my brain

15. what's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? great question! i can't think of any bc if i don't think i'll ever finish a wip i likely. don't want to finish it

16. what are your writing strengths? i'm good with dialogue especially banter and since i refuse to write fics where i can't get into the head of the pov character i'd like to think my characterization is solid

17. what are your writing weaknesses? society if i could describe things without suffering. i will blame the aphantasia

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? i'm not sure i've given it much thought since i haven't done it before. i'd def be scared of messing something up

19. first fandom you wrote for? my first ao3 fic was for pb but i know i did fics before that. i'm gonna guess hp since that was my first fandom

20. favorite fic you've written? look i have to hype this fic up bc it has an audience of like five people but i put a lot of love and time into my fernand character study (the fallen knight)

4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes! (usually) I try to respond when people take the time to say something nice about what I've written, because they're encouraging me to write more and I think its good to encourage people to comment/interact more

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Oh, no, I need a certain happy ending, at least in fanfiction. Yes my childhood was unstable, how did you know?

They all have sickly sweet happy endings, refer to answer #6

No, I don't really see the appeal personally.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Not hate per say, but just some bitching from people who can understand nuance or disagreed with my take on the relationship

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes, so far I have only written it in longer form fics with context, all pretty vanilla. I've wondered for a long time why smut is such a staple of fanfiction and I think that people are frustrated with writers and directors casting aside sex as an (often) valuable part of romantic love and attraction. Like, why are you giving light to affection and communication and support but dismissing the sexual component of love with a closed door, winking and nudging the readers. Thats also a part of why RWRB was such a great movie in my opinion, it treated sex as a normal and healthy and loving part of a couples story, and fanfiction does the same thing. It all ties back into sex being viewed only through the male gaze bc bodice rippers have been doing that for years, but I digress

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nope! But I use a lot of really common themes and tropes so theres other fics like mine out there

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, that would be interesting.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, I would love collaborating with other writers or creators here! Either writing together, making art to accopnay of fic or beta reading one another, my only real worry about getting involved is not making deadlines, my life is busy and I like to know i can work at my own pace and publish once completed so I don't leave anyone hanging

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Honestly, Gallavich. But longest running? Zutara, I'm hoping to see a renaissance there with the new series

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I think I'll be able to get everything done, sooner or later

15. What are your writing strengths?

I think I'm pretty good at coming up with cohesive and interesting plots, and I think i'm slowly becoming pretty good at getting into a characters head and writing dialouge for them

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

Proofreading! Bro I will print something I've written out to review but still catch like 7 stupid mistakes when I scroll through quickly after posting that shit drives me crazy

I also want to get really really good at controlling the pace of a piece of writing, not that its a weakness per say im just not as good as I'd like to be yet

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

Eh, its fine. A lot of the time I wonder who it's for though, like if you dont speak the language and just translate something through an inaccurate translator, it's not really for a fluent speaker and its not really for you

I've toyed with writing a supernatural fic before. We'll see, I'm in no rush

Psychopomp! No one else seemed to like it as much as I did but that's fine by me it was my weird little passion project :)
