i have finished said book (skin of a sinner), not my favorite of this year but it wasn’t bad to the point i had to put it down and erase it from my memory. solid 6.5/10??

why are fanfic writers so much better at smut than published authors

#it was very much ‘touch her and you die’#incredibly obsessive #childhood best friends to lovers #sort of ordeal #and i didn’t hate it #so i’ll take it as a win #and i finished it in like 2-3 days #so it was digestible enough for my mushy little brain to comprehend until i regenerate more brain cells #the smut was like every other published book #they like sort of rush it and skirt around being too graphic which is fine #but also #i want the juicy details 🤨#i also didn’t swoon over the MMC like i have with some other romance books i read at the start of this year #6.5 feels like a decent rating #the sinners duet and the mindfuck series are still sitting solid on top for my 2023 reads #(i’ve barely read anything this year 🥲)#overall not a bad book but not like i’m gonna ever talk about it again probably #i didn’t really giggle and kick my legs #but also the male lead was cute in the end with what he did #even when they were kids #i would 10/10 recommend to read if you’re into that #he was leg kicking giggling twirling your hair kinda guy
