Militat Omnis Amans: The Beginnings by edaen - 92k words, fantasy, werewolf!jk, vampire!jm, forbidden love, super slow burn but super worth it, JIKOOK IN THIS IS MY FAVORITE JIKOOK IN ANY FIC EVER EVER EVER, this is the ultimate all or nothing will freeze hell over for the other kind of love, and the way this is written is just so... how do i describe it. like you can just tell the author wanted to be very realistic with their feelings. you’ve seen the word count, this is SLOW burn. like you will legit feel their struggle to just be able to love each other and while it hurts, it’s also SO GLORIOUS. i love this one so much and if you like reading angst with happy ending but like cranked up to 200% then read this. bonus feels if you read the whole series

Until Dawn (series) by edaen - this is the long series where the previous one above is part of. highly rec if you love fantasy and you wanna read about bts being a rag tag group of supernatural beings fighting evil yay. also it makes the above fic more satisfying because you see more of jikook just being tgt and in love (with bonus angst because of course)

One afternoon, you match with a nice team that’s doing well

it’s a good game; you’re pretty evenly matched

you end up the last player standing, win a round for your team, & they applaud you for it!

But then—ohoho and then—

—you hear the deepest freakin Australian accent on voice chat

saying “ayy nice!!”

you say a polite thank you back to him

meanwhile the other people on your team are like

“holy crap bro your voice is low af!”

you get to hear this boy speak for longer lol

and y’all get to talking lol

he accepts, sends you a party invite, and you play a few games together!!

Over the course of a couple months, you play together every time you’re online at the same time

It’s funny because although you’re friendly with each other, you’re competitive af LMAO

most of your games are spent competing for who can get more kills and who can be MVP of the team/entire match

the 1 rule is that you have to find each other in-person

But because of the main rule, occasionally you’ll get a vague text like

Brownie: “Hey are you wearing a red flannel right now”

You: “No I’m not even outside lmao”

Brownie: “Dammit I thought I felt the vibes”

It’s a nice lil challenge because the only thing you know about Brownie is that he identifies as a guy and has an Australian accent

(but that may be unimportant depending on where you live lmao)

meanwhile the only things he knows about you are random details, your voice, and that you have a class with Vanessa lol

And it’s FUN!!

but you both start to get suuuuper competitive

mostly because of the 1 rule

there have literally been times you’ve probably found Brownie when you hear an Australian accent in the distance

however he always leaves before you can get to him, so it doESN’T COUNT GDI

Brownie tho lmao—he’s always putting on his detective hat and trying to track you down on campus

whenever he’s chilling after class he asks for where you are generally

he’ll ask you “Hey wyd”

You: “Studying”

Brownie: “In the library?”

You: “…Yes”

then he starts to narrow down where you could be based on less-specific questions

Of course, that’s not the only thing you text him about

you’ve grown pretty close to Brownie

the competition has helped with that!!

You can’t video call Felix but you normally call him at least once a week

after knowing him for at least half a year, you get this warm feeling in your chest every time his name pops up on the top of your phone

One of your phone calls sounds something like this:

You: “Yes?”

you’re standing outside the building chatting with one of your other friends when your phone starts ringing in your pocket

other friend is like “ooOOOH is it brownie boy??”

You: “Oh yeah rip he’s probably calling because I missed some of his texts, give me a moment."

You’re about to pick up when the call drops

so you’re like ?? bruh what and are about to unlock your phone to see what Felix’s texts are about

That’s when you feel a tap on your shoulder

and a low Australian voice behind you says your name

your head whips around to find this cute face with freckles and a giant smile on his face

“Felix?!?”

“Heh, I found you~”

Dude doesn’t hesitate to hug you, pick you up, then spin you around

your friend is watching with a goofy smile but he doesn’t care

after he finally puts you down, you cup his face with both your hands

“The filters always hide your freckles… they’re like stars, Lix”

instead of a lunch date, Felix takes you out for dinner :DD

even though you lost he insists on paying :’))

your friends don’t even care that you’re ditching them ajlkfdhs they literally push you away to go eat with Felix lmao

needless to say, he will arrange another date so he can bring you some homemade brownies

if anyone’s interested i posted my live reaction of the episode on my twitter along with a little opinion hehe

i do want to say more here since twitter’s character limit distracts me a lot lol so here it goes.

maybe it’s because i haven’t seen that many, but this drama had a lot of new things that i hadn’t seen before in lgbt dramas (discussion of positions in sexual intercorse even if the events prior were a big yikes, 100% supportive friends, girl best friend not being used as someone who interferes in the relationship and rather helping one of the two from the couple get together, quiet introvert x talkative extrovert, etc) which are always refreshing to see as someone who’s lgbt and has little representation in media.

but this drama also had things that should be erased from the format of lgbt dramas (like the lack of communication, mlm couples having to be the stereotype of top and bottom from the get-go without having even had anything close to skinship even if it’s later on discussed and never the focus of the relationship again, non-consensual kisses while under the influence of alcohol, girl characters only existing to thirst over guys, be an “obstacle” in the relationships and to fetishise the mlm couple, etc) which should, well, not be the norm anymore.

i enjoyed all the good things, and wished for better things when the bad things happened. each love story was beautiful in its own way, bohnduen’s one being a little tilted when it comes to beauty, mekboss’s being a long overdue beautiful one, ramking’s being a beautifully crafted one and frongthara’s being a slowly created one.

i admit i had my favourites and my liking and disliking for some characters changed drastically throughout the episodes (like, i used to hate bohn and tee and now they’re both my stupid sons) but these characters.... i love them. i love their little groups and all of them individually. i wish we could’ve had more phu because that man is so FINE and so nice to look at (i am phu number one’s stan, period).

also, WE GOT MY GHOST SHIP CRUMBS IN THE FINALE. TEE X TING TING. PLEASE WETV THAILAND MAKE THEM DATE IN SEASON 2 I NEED MY GIRL TING TING TO HAVE A BOYFRIEND ALREADY SHE’S DESPERATE FOR SOME LOVE.

also 2x, TANG DESERVES A SOFT PARTNER JUST LIKE HIM. IDC IF IT’S A MAN OR A WOMAN HE DESERVES ALL THAT SOFT SHIT TOO. GIVE TANG A PARTNER 2K20.

i saw someone here grade the show so i wanna do it too,, i’d give it a solid 7′5/10. you might be wondering why, but i just compared the show a lot to 2gether while watching as it’s the drama i’ve watched at the same time as this one for weeks and it didn’t make me feel the same as 2gether (which is rated a 9′5/10 on my mdl) and its flaws sometimes irritated me a lot to the point of lowering the quality of the show for me) so i couldn’t give it more than that,,,,, if any of u give it a higher qualification then pls tell me why i would love to know different opinions on the matter :’)
