honestly? i really liked it a lot. i can’t say i was disappointed or upset or any other bitter feeling regarding it not following canon or not even being as advertised (yeah that last part sucked but im shrugging it off and moving on). from the moment we see the lil egg it was already obvious it was NOT going to follow canon, and i really like it as more of a ‘what if’. egg or not, it’s still interesting seeing a different ending to calamity ganon making his return.

to this day i don’t understand why i had to attack ritos when first going with revali but aight, i’m choosing to ignore it. revali himself felt pretty out of character to a point, cus yes i am aware that’s his attitude and behavior. it just felt ooc? for me... i dunno, maybe cus we rarely got to actually see him in botw other than memories and whatnot. maybe i just had the wrong idea about him from the start but as much of a dick as he might be, i still love him. not more than i love teba tho. ** UPDATE: erika has blessed me with knowledge on why the ritos were attacking me. bless u, now it makes sense to my distracted lil self.

hmmm what else... i didn’t mind the story at all, i genuinely enjoyed it even if it felt ‘fanservicy’ at times. the original hyrule warriors game was already pretty fanservicy so it was to be expected of this one. i liked the mechanics, the fights, the characters, the movesets, the way the runes are used, the dang rods that saved my ass more than once when fighting lynels and guardians. it was just fun overall.

and i’m not gonna lie, i wouldn’t mind considering this game as canon in an alternate timeline, IF... sidon, teba, riju, and yunobo hadn’t just randomly dropped from their own timeline. it just clashes with what’s already going on, and as much fun as i had seeing my precious boi teba again, those four just didn’t belong there lmao. other than that, if we dont pay that much attention to tiny details, yeah it could be an alternate timeline as in “if calamity ganon is defeated” and “if calamity ganon wins/the champions die” kind of deal. wouldn’t be the first time the timeline splits anyway, so i was willing to go with that.

OTHER THAN THAT TEENY TINY LIL DETAIL, i can go ‘yea aight thats cool’. i just enjoyed it, i really did. the fact i suck at those types of games is my problem really cus i genuinely had fun playing it even when it took me a while to just finish the story.

i also ADORED the music, i loved it so much. oh and yes hello i am one of the fools that deadass cried when terrako turned evil and then when it sacrificed itself. bless the lil egg boi, i must love and protect the lil powerful guardian baby.
