This might be a bit late, but I just cannot figure out what is UP with all the "Nicky is deliberately unattractive" discourse. Like, am I just channeling Joe or is Nicky not exquisitely beautiful in every single frame that is graced with his presence? Like a pre-Raphaelite painting. Yes, his clothes are not glamorous, but his haircut that everyone seems to hate is IMHO the best-ever LM look, and he's just so incredibly lovely clean-shaven. I truly do not know what other people are seeing here!

but heres the thing. luca m is the Most Beautiful Man On Earth and anyone who says otherwise is wrong. all his looks are Good Looks. hes never been ugly a moment in his life (looking at you, That One Horny Martin Eden Reviewer)

however. i will argue that sometimes the lighting for him in tOG is just sometimes.. bad and unflattering. like in the baklava scene?

they could not have put him in a better spot. this WHOLE set and they just Could Not find a single better spot for this man to stand. they had to put him right in front of the window. only window in the whole set and his ass had to go right in front of it so the light is just hitting him at The Worst Angle Ever.

like for everyone else in this scene the lighting is very gentle and flat and flattering

and then nickys got a FUCKING SPOTLIGHT shining on his ass from behind. like. who did that to him.

like hes still a beautiful baby boy, the lighting just sucked in the first shot. and so i think its easy to come to the conclusion that ‘nicky is a less attractive luca’ when that simply isnt true, and nicky is equally as attractive as all the other lucas, but his lighting just somewhat frequently sucks ass

re: his hair clothes etc. i think there was a deliberate attempt to make nicky... plain, i guess? i did joke about them making him unattractive on purpose bc apparently comics!nicky was drawn that way but i think (at least in regards to his outfits and not the lighting-- which may or may not have been a luca-directed hate crime) what they were going for is someone who just isnt high-maintenance in terms of appearance, or someone who doesnt put extensive effort into keeping up with trends/beauty standards. (which doesnt necessarily translate to ‘unattractive’)

after all, nicky spends most of this film alongside Leatherjacket McGee 1, 2, and 3, and pretty much all of his screentime alongside a guy in a nike compression shirt and like 3 classy rings. like, theres a definitely deliberate difference in how nicky dresses vs how joe dresses, or even andy and booker’s clothes vs. nicky’s clothes.

like ive mentioned before, hes the only member of the OG4 who never wears a leather jacket, hes the only one who never wears form-fitting clothes (except the kill floor armor which is. armor), and hes the only one who doesnt wear accessories. his fashion vibes seem to be very specifically different than the others, but that doesnt.. make him unattractive

also people make fun of his jacket in this scene for being unfashionable or whatever

and like 1. shut up he looks so comfie 2. i think if were going to be bullying this man for anything about this outfit it should be. uh. him having his jacket sleeves rolled up Over his shirt sleeve??? ?  like? ? hello?
